Abismo de pasión #9 3/23/12: Hell is the truth learned too late*
*Agatha Christie
Redux: At Casa Castañon we get to see Ughusto wimphandle Fina out the door.
Ughusto agonizes over his missing daughter. Lolita has the idea that maybe Elisa’s friend Paloma might know Elisa’s whereabouts. Carmeany wants to slip into something orange and go with Ughusto to the yerberia but he rebuffs her, “This is between me and my daughter.”
Over at Hell House Antonia is already in orange and listening to Padre Loopy who isn’t happy with the way Fina is mistreating her son. Just then the Hot Nasty (Gabino) precedes the Cold Nasty (Fina) into the room; Fina runs to Loopy and weeps, “That girl stole my son just like Stef stole Rosendo”. (Geez lady, give the broken record a rest, willya? Let’s do a short-cut code so I don’t have to write this out every time. Whenever Fina cries this old saw I’ll write “Alf makes me ralph”.) Loopy gives the over-the-shoulder “She be carayzee!” look. Gabino, settling into his role as head suck-up, volunteers to call the police and look for the kids himself. He has the word “Jackal” embroidered on the back of his shirt. Hey, wasn’t Blue Lass calling for jackals to consume Carmeany?
Over at the yerberia Ramona suspects that Paloma is nervous about something because she breaks a plate. Ramona accuses her of having manos de hilacha (hands of lint). What’s Paloma hiding? Just then Augusto literally bursts through the door and asks Paloma if she knows where Elisa is. (I love how Ramona rushes to protect Paloma.) Paloma says she knows Elisa and Damian but she doesn’t know where they are. Amazingly, Augusto behaves himself and leaves. Ramona, however doesn’t believe her granddaughter.
Augusto stands outside Ramona’s house and hollers for Elisa. Too little too late a$$ hat. Gabino lurks nearby and hides in the bushes.
The kiddies are in the cave and Elisa is afraid. Damian hugs and comforts her, awwww.
Next morning a lovely green reptile suns itself on a rock. (Ooooh, I just love reptiles and amphibians! More please, just don’t kill them.) When Paloma sleepily heads to the river for water The Jackal leaps out and captures her. He is momentarily stunned by her eyes , “they look like hers” (squeeeee [™Sara], call of the blood?) but he shakes it off and demands she tell him where the runaways are.
Well, they are likely enjoying their last happy morning for a long time. They prepare to leave the cave and GAH!!! The Hot Nasty sneers “Good morning...niños.” Busted by Gabino the Jackal.
Gael, the most sensible and mature person in this mess, prays to the Virgin to protect his little friends.
Alf makes me ralph. (It’s short-cut code, remember?)
Just as Fina wonders if she will ever see her son again Gabino arrives at Hell House with the boy booty. Fina slobbers all over him. Ruh roh, in walks Elisa, Fina lunges and SLAPP!!!! (™Marta) she sends the child reeling. Luckily Padre Loopy runs over and pulls Fina off poor Elisa and yells at her to control herself! Damian is yelling too and I notice Gabino smirking in the background.
Alf makes me ralph.
Alf makes me ralph. (really, one right after the other)
Then, crazed and wild-eyed, Fina announces they are leaving La Ermita right away. She orders Gabino to remove Elisa but Loopy jumps in to save her. Damian and Elisa sadly gaze at each other. “I hate you!! I hate you!!” Damian yells at his mother as Antonia drags him off to pack his bags.
Ramona notices that Paloma’s arms are bruised. When Paloma admits it was Gabino forcing the truth from her Ramona freaks and tells Paloma that hiding the truth is as bad or worse than lying. Paloma promises to never lie to her again.
The padre has delivered Elisa to Casa Castañon. Lucio and Blanca say they hope Augusto will go easy on the girl because he and Carmina are to blame for her running away. Hooray Lucio! Anita, roll out the I Heart Lucio shirts. Carmeany looks all huffy and Lady of the Manorish. She tries to take Elisa’s hand but Elisa rejects her and asks Lolita to take her to her room. Padre wants to talk to Ughusto alone. The Cheddar Cheese stands alone.
Padre also pleads Elisa’s case to Ughusto. She’s only a child, she lost her mother and can’t understand why Bad Hair Dad married the harridan, nor for that matter can the Padre. Augusto pleads insanity and Padre gives him the 411, Elisa doesn’t really like her Tia, doesn’t trust her. Augusto, in a rare (and all too brief) moment of lucidity, asks Padre Loopy if he knows something that Augusto does not. Padre assures him that Stef and Rosendo were NOT lovers. Ughie surmises Padre must have heard something in confession and P Loopy reminds Ughie he cannot divulge what is confessed. Oops, stupid Ughie is back and says Stef was a hypocrite who fooled the Padre and everyone else. Disgusted, Padre says Ughusto has committed a grave error by marrying Carmina.
Oh this is gonna be good. Gabino is rudely shouting orders to the peones and Ramona strides up looking like the tree hugger’s poster child. But she’s got the habanero fire in her eyes, calls him out and demands he never bother or touch her grandchild again. He attempts bravado and tells her to back off before she has a heart attack, but she scoffs and says she won’t let him harm her grandchild like he did her daughter. She doesn’t have the reputation as a witch for nuthin’ and she can damage him! Then she gives him the single-raised-eyebrow stinkeye. Yay Ramona! (And did y’all see those big bags of habaneros? Eat your heart out Ughusto.)
Padre Loopy gently tells Gael that his friends were found but bad news, Damian’s mom plans to take him far away and he doesn’t know when he will come back. The poor little guy cries hard.
Fina shows up at the hot sauce factory and barks orders at Gabino to get things ready for her trip to the Merida airport. He hems and haws and asks if she arranged what she promised? She tells him to wait in the office.
Lucio also shows up at the office and wonders what smug Gabino is doing sitting in the boss’s chair acting like he’s the in charge of the world. Fina arrives and fires Lucio and makes Gabino the boss. Well, not fires, she says, she’s just expediting his retirement. After all his years of service he’s old and needs a rest. Gabino, his nose a dark shade of brown, smirks in the background. Gabino tries some post-promotion sucking up but Fina takes the wind out of his sails by reminding him he is just an employee and nothing more.
Carmeany finds Lolita packing up Stef’s clothes to take to another room. Lolita says there is something weird, nothing of Stef’s is missing and everything is in its place. If Stef was running away wouldn’t she have taken something? Car thinks fast and says Rosendo was rolling in the dough and probably planned to buy Stef new clothes. Lolita says she smells a rat. Carmeany suggests Lolita check the jewelry box and we are assaulted by Fur Elise. Stef wasn’t stupid and took her jewelry with her, she says. (Unfound at the crash site I might add.) “Satisfied?” hisses Carmina. Lolita looks anything but.
The two sweet boys are saying their goodbyes in Damien’s room, best friends forever, secret handshake, and Damian asks Gael to give the amulet to Elisa, Damian will wear its twin. The kids barely get their goodbye hug in before mom-from-hell says enough of the stupid goodbyes, get this brat outta here, we’re leaving.
Lolita is stashing Stef’s clothes in Carmeany’s old room when she runs across Stef’s jewelry. Carmeany walks in and laughs, Ha ha ha those are actually CARMEANY’S jewels, not Stef’s. Their father always bought them identical jewelry. Lolita doesn’t buy it, she saw Stef wearing them many times. Meany snatches them away and says she doesn’t have to give excuses to a mere servant. Lolita starts working things out in her head, first Carmeany said Stef took the jewels, and now they end up in Carmeany’s room, also the police never returned any jewelry from the crash. Lolita says she’s wanted to leave many times but she sticks around for her Elisa. Car hisses if Lolita wants to stay then she’d better watch what she does and says and quit rummaging around with things that don’t belong to her. Car goes all psycho bug eyes, gathers up all the other jewelry she’s got stashed around the room and locks it in a drawer.
As Paloma and Elisa walk along the road Gael runs to join them. He has the special amulet from Damian that Elisa is to wear always. Gael tells them that Gabino and Hell Mom are taking Damian away as they speak, so the three pals form a human barricade across the road which, knowing Vampira, is a pretty stupid thing to do. Gabino stops, “The brats are in the road”, he says. “Run them down!” commands the Dark One, hoping to traumatize her child forever. Luckily the children fling themselves off to the side. Damian yells out the window, “Elisa, I’ll be your friend forever!” “Me too!”, yells Elisa.
Ughusto comes home to his pathetically obsessive wife. She slurps his face and gushes she is so glad their lives have returned to normal. “Normal???” he says, “nothing that’s happened is normal. I think our marriage was a mistake.” Carmeany ignores his concerns and plays octopussy as she wraps her eight arms around him. She gushes about THEIR baby and he just looks shell-shocked. He is such a tool.
Months Later:
Carmelon shows off her big impregnated belly to her mirror reflection, but guess what? Ughusto is still not terribly interested. Car, I admire your tenacity but your taste in men absolutely sucks. You ruined your sister’s reputation and committed all sorts of hell-guaranteeing subterfuge for this waste product? Car gushes about the baby wanting to be born any minute. Augusto, who has a head for math at least up to the number 10, observes the baby won’t be born for at least a few more weeks and she should see the doctor. He wants to go with her because he ALWAYS went with Estefania. “Well stop comparing me to Estefania, I want to go solo” she says. Fine, he says, he'll go play with his habaneros while she gets all hormonal.
The Only Gossip in town tells the Biggest Beeyatch in town that she suspects Carmeany’s spawn was conceived before her marriage. And...Alf makes me ralph.
Over at Casa Castañon Lolita stands by the beautiful pool and tells Braulio to clean the water and make sure everything is perfect for Elisa’s pool-party. Carmelon walks up and asks since when does Dolores (i.e. Lolita) give orders? Carmelon has a marvelous idea, she orders Braulio to empty the pool immediately, empty it right now so as to ruin Elisa’s party. Wheee, it’s so much fun being bat-s**t crazy!
As Carmelon stalks away from the pool she is intercepted by Gabino, who has apparently not changed his shirt despues meses. Uh oh, he has a ponytail. Didn’t someone warn us about a ponytail? Guess what? He wants to blackmail her. She threatens to kill him. He licks his lips like wants to jackalize her. I think they should both do what they want immediately.
Now we are in Blanca’s store; she’s happy having earned lots of money for a custom dress. Lucio is feeling habanero-withered (™Novela Maven) because he’s helping and has a tape-measure around his neck, pobrecito. His world is the earth, fertilizer and habaneros, not the whims of women!
Ughusto is tying one on at the local cantina when Lucio walks in. Luc says at least he’s “retired”, what’s Ugh’s excuse for drinking? More about Elisa being a kid who needs her father. Ugh talks about his expected son, slams down a shot of tequila, says at least the baby will make all this worthwhile, and leaves. Lucio raises his bodacious eyebrows and snarks “Cheers Augusto.”
The only doc in town has examined Carmelon, says it’s a matter of days, and is clearly enchanted by what he saw (Ick, or I don’t know, or whatever) because he is totally hitting on her. She wants to make sure he never told anyone she was preggers before she was married, right? Because she’s so completely happy now. He gazes at her like he’ll do whatever she wants as long as it involves future boinkage.
Oh give me a break, Gabino is in the cantina trying to ruin Lucio’s night again. He announces that this cantina is for MACHOS, not [bleep] like Lucio who like to make dresses. (I wonder what got censored?) UPDATE: Gabino called Lucio a mariquita, i.e. poofter. He starts bragging about being Uno Macho just because he brown-nosed Lucio out of a job. I think they should just whip out their manhoods and compare, I’ll bet Lucio’s is much more impressive than the steroid-swilling Gabino’s. Lucio stands up and literally punches the snot out of Gabino, pretty much proving my theory.
Evil Stepmother finds Elisa happily burbling with her dolls and her future little brother’s things. She shrieks and grabs Elisa, telling her to stay away from Her Son’s clothes! Elisa wails he’s also her little brother. Carmeany starts strangling Elisa and insulting Stef, but the child rebels, screams and runs out of the house near the EMPTIED pool. Carmelon runs after her, yelling she’ll teach the demon child a lesson and demanding her baby’s things back. Carmelon momentarily teeters at the pool’s edge before taking a header right into the emptied-as-ordered pool and falling flat on her cantaloupe. Sorry bingo players, she missed the steps entirely.
Avances: Carweenie wails to Rosendo in her delerium. Disgusto hears and has doubts (serves you right dumba**). No little brother for Elisa.

Una Familia Con Suerte #175-176 Thu 3/22/12 Marriage is a wonderful institution, and all our married couples belong in an institution.
Ana: Chicken Little and I are gettin’ hitched!
Chela and Fernanda: The sky is falling!
Frida: Champi is one smokin’ hot hunk o’ metal.
Freddy, via phone: Pepe! Let’s go shopping!
Frida: I know lots about cars. Take me for a ride!
Pepe: Vroom.
Frida: Is this as fast as Champi can go? Show me what she’s got, and please note that I equate her velocity with your manliness. Impress me.
Pepe: Vroom vroom.
Vice: Nice shirt, cheesy chump.
Pancho: I’m made of rubber and you’re made of glue.
Vice: So I talked to that loser Lamberto…
Rebers: You leave him alone!
Vice: Lamby and Rebers, sittin’ in a tree. I’m calling an emergency meeting to over throw you all!
Pancho: You do that. Gotta go.
Pina: Vice, your tacky childish insults make me swoon!
Vice: Let’s do it in the elevator!
Ana: Frida, let’s be friends!
Kari: Clever of me to wait until everyone expected the bride and make a grand entrance down the aisle to sit with the family!
Fernanda: I am so blindingly happy, I don’t even care that my son is an annoying nutcase.
Enzo: Who cares if I look like a Mafioso? I look guapisimo in all black.
Ado: Bye, Mamación! I will miss you so much!
Priest: Wuv, twoo wuv…
All the happy couples: Sigh!
Freddy: Let me formally propose and proffer an engagement ring right in the middle of someone else’s wedding.
Ana: Swoon!
Pina: OMG!
Vice: NOOOOOO!!!!!!
Everyone: Huh?
Big kerfuffle; Pina faints.
Pina: What happened?
Freddy, Vice, Arnold Flowerz, Kari, Ado: You made a big embarrassing scene in the church.
Pina: Say it ain’t so! You aren’t marrying that piojosa!
Priest: Okey-doke, you’re now hitched.
SMOOCH.
Ana: Wheee! Pollis proposed and I accepted!
Pancho: HAHAHAHAHA!!! You’re kidding, right?!
Freddy: No, I’m not kidding.
Vice: The thought of becoming related to that chica makes me wanna barf!
Freddy: You’re already related to her, remember?
Pina: What are you thinking? Can I upsell you on this blue-eyed model conveniently in stock RIGHT HERE because she never leaves?
Enzo: Vice and Pincenez will probably cut off Freddy’s allowance.
Elena: Bwahahahaha!!!
Pancho: You don’t need their money. You’re too young, but what the heck, you have my blessing. Since you’re going to do it anyway.
Pina: I am a raging racist classist! You marry that naca, and we will cut you off!
Rebers: Stop being so tacky and put on proper business clothes for the meeting.
Pancho: Tacky is just who I am, babe.
Lamberto: Raymundo is now going to referee the meetings.
Raymundo: Arnoldo! Slobber!
Enter Enzo.
Raymundo: Even better! Slobber!
Ana: Frida is so cool…yet so hot for you!
Pepe: Sheesh. We just work together.
Frida, via phone: I need your expert studly help to fix this car!
Pepe: Later. I have to go to school.
Frida: Le sigh, le heave.
All the execs: much shouting over personal issues.
Raymundo: This is not on the agenda.
Lamberto is the announcer. Vice is “El demonio.” Arnold Flowers goes by his own name, in a yellow cape and ruffly bellbottoms. Pina is dressed as Wonder Woman and is “Cruella de Ville.” Enzo is “Descuartizador” and hot. Rebe is “La diva.” Pancho is “El preciso.” Much cartoonish fighting. This must have been a hoot to film.
Me: Why do they always have cake? Is it the same cake? Why does no one bring me fancy cake?
Pancho: We need to expand internationally.
Vice: I object!
Pancho and Vice: Let’s do all the bickering we should have gotten out of our systems as children.
Pina: I have a wonderful, awful idea.
Ana: I sorta want to keep trying for a music career. But on the other hand…babies! With Pollis!
Chela: What’s the rush? Make sure you have an education and a solid relationship first.
Nappy: I know everything about your family. But what do you think?
Candy: I think Pancho will get a grip and accept his baby getting married. They’ll be fine.
Deb: Candy, get lost. Private business.
Deb, while Candy hides around the corner: It’s done. Sánchez is dead.
Candy: Gasp!
Napo: If the info on this USB gets out, we’re dead meat. You deserve a prize.
Deb: With six zeros.
Pancho: You’re totally one of the family again!
Rebers: I object!
Pancho: Let me ram the idea, and my tongue, down your throat.
Rebe: Oh, okay. No! Wait! I’m not that easy, mister!
Pancho: How do you plan to support my daughter? Keep in mind that this is the 1950s, and her job is to have babies and yours is to bring in money, no exceptions.
Freddy: Um, I guess I will work.
Pancho: Well, of course Ana will ask me for money. If I don’t give it to her, she’ll think I oppose your marriage like your parents do! What should I do?
Rebe: Maybe Ana should be part of this conversation.
Pancho: Correct. Come to the house tonight and we’ll discuss the dowry. Ana’s probably only a seven-cow wife.
Ana: I’m so happy!
Lupita: Yeah, isn’t it great to be in love?
Ana: So how about you?
Lupita: Well, Tomás hasn’t proposed yet.
Ana: All our problems will be over once we’re married!
Lupita: Eh, I doubt it.
Tomás is busy exercising and practicing subduing criminals.
Candy: What a beautiful nursery! Have fun dusting it for seven months until your baby is born! Hey, guess what, the mobsters are doing mobster things. There’s a USB I could steal and put them in jail.
Chela: Don’t even think of it! They’ll kill you!
Frida: I am totally cool and competent. Are you in love with me yet?
Pepe, on phone: Moni! Mi amor!
Frida: Rats.
Moni: I need you!
Pina: Here’s my diabolical plan: We invest a little money to revive la piojosa’s vulgar naca musical career and send her on tour. Ha ha!
Frida: Sooo…who’s this Sirenita?
Pepe: The love of my life! She took her nutso mama to France for treatment.
Frida: Wow. They must be rich. Actually, your whole clan seems rich.
Pepe: Well, pops is the president of Avon. But it isn’t my money. I’m working hard to give Moni the lifestyle she insists upon.
Frida: It’ll never be enough. Let’s race our cars!
Candy: Look, I’m dressed all seductively. Why don’t I take off your overcoat and hat and sunglasses and you can act like you’re indoors for once?
Nappy: Ohhhh, yeah.
later…Candy: Ha! The fool’s asleep! USB switched, check!
Nappy: Hey! What’s up, and why are you?
Candy: Uhhh…just looking for my phone.
Pancho: So the question is, should I give up some cows for a dowry, or not?
Ana: Huh?
Pancho: You haven’t thought this through. How will you support yourselves?
Rebe: There’s no hurry to get married, right? Or is there?
Freddy and Ana: Well…yes, there’s a hurry.
Ana hilariously pats Freddy’s tummy, making Pancho flip out.
Rebe: You should sort things out with your mother before you get married.
Pina and Vins: Wow! Listen to this CD, Mr. Record Exec! Isn’t she awesome! Meet with our beloved niece and surprise her with a deal! But not a word that we were involved!
Frida: Isn’t it romantic, just the two of us working together late into the evening? Here, have some aphrodisiacal churros y chocolate.
Pepe: Yay, food. Let me catch you up on the whole plot.
Pina: You looked so hot dancing, Vins!
Vins: Let’s do it on the desk!
Enzo: Let me seduce you with a romantic picnic and lots of flattery and smoldering looks. A toast!
Chela: Yeah, yeah. So what happened with Lidia? Does sex mean nothing to you?
Enzo: It does when I’m in LURVE. What happened with you and Pancho?
Chela: Nada. Really! Are you jealous?
Pepe: I insist on taking you home. It’s too far and too dangerous for you to go alone!
Frida: Swoon! Mi válvula de escape!
Pepe: So where’s your car?
Frida: I almost never get it out of the garage.
Pepe: Have you thought of selling it so you could live someplace better?
Frida: Never! It’s the only memento I have of my abuelito! Nighty night! A kiss on the cheek is probably the most I can get away with!
Pepe: Egad!
Meli: You two act like children.
Vins: Maybe you’ll understand when you’re in love.
Pina: Speaking of which, I hope you’re staying away from that Lopez brat.
Meli: No way. I’m not like my lily-livered cousin Freddy. I’m not going to ditch my novio just because you said to.
Freddy: Gulp.
Vice: Your mother and I are now totally cool with your relationship with Ana.
Record exec Frank: Ana! I love your record and I want to represent you!
Napo: I’ll be home by noon for a repeat of last night!
Candy: Great! (let’s hope you’re in jail by then.)
Enzo: How much time do I waste sitting around rolling my eyes while people blather on? Oh, Pancho, how nice of you to make time for me. Here are the best houses I’ve found.
Candy: Hola!
Enzo: Nothing to see here! I’m outtie!
Candy: Here’s some data I stole! I’ll be free!

El Talismán #36-38 Wed 3/21/12 Double Your Pleasure!
This one is by Marta Ivett
Cameela keeps pushing Rennie
Armani tries to get his mom to reason about Fabiola just like she is about to marry Renny
Rennie calls Elviral… teases Cameela about telling Mommie she is there, but he tells Elviral about the bank account he will open for her. Making Emila snort beside herself and making Cameela doubt her notion that he is or not rich, not bad, two birds hit with one shot.
Tracy and Alberta argue at the deck… Alberta warns Tracy they will need to choose between Pigorio and BBuckle.
Said buckle is asking Valentin to check on Pigorio… don’t forget you work for me, it will go very bad for you if I find out you are doubledecking me. Vale gives Buckle the blood work results, which DO tell that he was taking in poison. Valentin studied some veterinary school so he can read analysis… so he can have one card on Antonio… Antonio will try to push THIS ONE on Pedro .. again YAWN…(haven’t you tried this one 99 times before Antonio?) Valentin reminds him have to prove Pedro poisoned Pigorio. The police won’t just ignore that the analysis results dissappeared… Antonio gathers up before getting too deep… lets forget the issue for now… maybe whoever poisoned my dad is doing me a favor, and maybe I can put Pedro in jail for it, killing 2 birds with one shot…(is this a contest between Rennie and Antonio?)
Said Pigorio and Panchito are talking elsewhere in deck… still talking about Elviral’s wedding (Pigorio is curious how bad it went for Elviral, knows that bomb will burst soon enough) and about Pigorio’s obsession with Doris, need another nail to get this one out.
Pedro Lucrecia.. will she stay or will she go.. .YAWN…
Doris and Tracy at deck… Doris recommends Tracy swallow her tongue to keep her job this time… and don’t flirt/kiss-kiss with Panchito in public… Tracy wants to explain but Doris keeps telling her to shut up… Alberta brings Doris a court paper about divorce from Antonio’s lawyer.
Doris on phone with Bridgete.. Bridgete still very concerned, Doris, you got in a very dangerous game… Doris determined to make Pigorio obsessed with her, with Pigorio’s power she can destroy Camelia so Antonio cannot have her either..
Rennie still on phone with Elviral… well well Rennie is no dumb… Elviral’s account will also have his signature so they can deposit her check and then he can take the $ out.. not bad… Cameela insists he is deceiving Elviral… Rennie tries to turn it on Cameela by commenting she is not trusting, and that is what she gets for getting involved with a married man.
Inspector comes to ElTal insisting Pedro testify against Lucrecia… or aiding in the investigation of the car breakdown attempt incident. Lukrazia steps up and tells the inspector to file the case because Pedro won’t testify… Inspector says no can’t do.. you would need Cameela to testify for her too, so the case Is still open and she is still suspect. He must confirm Cameela does not want to press charges against Lookrazy either. Lookrazy keeps repeating Cameela hates her, Pedro insists it was just an accident… YAWN… Inspector asks do you have enemies, Pedro? .. of course! Pigorio!
Elated Elviral talks to Armani about the bank account. Armani asks her if she does not love Rennie… She responds yeah that too, but you realize it? We won’t have to worry about money ever again!! LETS CELEBRATE!! She will also prove Cammela she was wrong about Rennie… Elviral keeps calling Pedro a vulgar ordinary man who does not deserve her daughter.
Rennie and Cameela keep arguing, he has turned the discussion around and now its about Cameela and the married man who is deceiving her. Don’t mess with my private life!... Exactly! SO you are least qualified to butt in my private life…
Pigorio gets call from Bridgete about Lucas and him meeting about the new ‘job’. Bridgete assures Pigorio that Lucas is a great falsifier… Pigorio can’t take risks with that.
Panchito was hidden around, listened in ‘so that was it.. my dad is getting a false will’
Cameela and Rennie keep arguing… from today on your mom is my responsibility, worry about Pedro… Don’t mess with Pedro… Don’t mess with your mother!... what are you hiding?... don’t mess with me! If you are coming to the wedding with that attitude don’t come.. even better.. DON’T COME to my wedding!
Nervous Doris shoos Alberta and Tracy away… she then asks Panchito where her husband is… runs out… Tracy tells Panchito what her ‘rollo’ is… things are going to get ‘del color de hormiga brava’ around here!
Antonio and Valentin discuss some more. Valentin stole the results. Antonio fears they will just repeat the tests..Valentin doubts Pigorio will get them redone if his stomach does not hurt anymore. In runs Doris shredding the divorce papers in front of Antonio… she repeats her threat, will make the divorce long and expensive… Antonio insists he will get it done and then have Cameela… Doris laughs and says don’t count on it, by then Cameela will be married to Pedro. Antonio tells her … ‘watch it, witch… you know me’. … Doris keeps repeating her line… Antonio is immune to her tantrums… as you told the girls, for their own good, we will handle the divorce calmly. Doris swears she will make him pay… he could care less if she prolongues the divorce, eventually he will kick her out… she warns she might end up being the new ‘Traz owner. Antonio puts a frown like he does believe that could be possible.
Back to ElTal, Pedro likes the idea to investigate Pigorio… maybe he ordered the job on the truck.. Lookrazy confirms Pigorio’s motive… Inspector buys the bait… noone would have motive? … well, there is another one.. the son, Antonio Negrete.
Lookrazy insists this is a setup by Cameela, Pedro keeps denying that.. YAWN. Lookrazy changes strategy, she accepts she took measures to separate Pedro and Cameela, but she would never go as far as trying to kill him… besides, she accepts that he should be with Cameela.. Pedro says he is even helping her find a place to live.
At Rennie’s .. Cameela throws the million dollar question.. where do you get the idea that my mom has money, because I know you are marrying her because you believe she is rich… Who told you that? Tracy? No. don’t know where you heard that but leave now.
Cameela threats him one last time to cancel it all because the wedding will not happen!
She whiffs away, he bites his lip holding his rage.
Elviral and Armani keep going over the problem of Cameela dating a married man. Armani says what is important is your wedding today. She turns back to happy/elated, its a fairy tale… Armani is happy to see her so happy… wouldn’t you want to see me so happy? Elviral says of course, but with a girl that has nothing to do with the Negretes.. Armani leaves angry, there is no way to get through to her that he cares about Fabi.
Said Fabi and her dad… Antonio insists he wants to meet Armani. Sure you will meet him soon.. then Fabi slips that Flo has a new boyfriend… it isn’t that ElTal worker, is it? (oopsie!) he asks again, but she won’t say anymore… he asks her not to hide anything from him… what if it IS someone from ElTal? Well, we would have to talk about it (how to kill the guy?) don’t hide anything from me. No matter what I will support you 2 (sisters)
Sarita and Gabr at tree… they talk about the ‘relationship with benefits’ deal with Flo and Claudio… Gabr says Clau is happy… she is not sold… he isn’t either, fears Clau will end up hurt…
Claudio and Flo also talk about her dad’s opposition… Clau is ready to do whatever it takes to get her to love him…
Antonio asks Valentin to find out about Flo and Claudio if it is him, he wants her to be able to visit him… but only at his gravesite!. Are you serious? Completely. Yo kill him. Isn’t there any other way to keep them apart?.. you are not listening. I want you to kill him. But of course noone especially my daughters or Doris can find out about it.
Inspector did not come about the truck incident (and you say that now??) but about Mariana’s whereabouts… he confirmed the calls came from Fresno. [Inspector has remembered the clues Antonio gave him] asks Pedro who would benefit if Mariana showed up? IF Mariana showed up, would you have the money to return her loan? Pedro does not like where this questioning is going… Inspector says well, it would not benefit you that she actually came back, but it would benefit you that everyone believed she was still alive. Patricia and Lookrazy back up Pedro’s argument. Inspector says Mariana calls can keep Pedro from getting accused of murder. Pedro insists the one behind this must be Pigorio!
Elviral is getting ready for wedding, Armani is dressed up… he keeps insisting he would like her to accept Fabiola. She is asking him not to mess up her makeup (OMG!! She is wearing a headband of same white material as the dress, right down to her ponytail!!)… door knoci… its Cameela… Elviral thanks her for not bringing Pedro… Cameela tells her she just talked to Rennie… no, we did not make ammends, on the contrary, he is not who you think he is… he believes you have lots of money and that is why he is marrying you. Again Elviral takes it to offense and rages at Cameela.. what money??!! The one that makes me suffer is you!! Armani gets on Elviral’s side on this argument… you want to ruin my marriage!! No matter what you do I will marry Rennie in 2 hours!... reword same argument back and fourth 3 fold!! Pedro does not love you as Rennie loves me! If not, why is he not divorced by now? … I love Rennie with all his defects, but that does not include being married… they get in tears.. let me realize my dream… Mom, I am just trying to make sure Rennie is not deceiving you… I want you to be happy with Rennie… you have not noticed? I really love him! (en serio??) .. alright mom, I hope I am wrong about Rennie and that you can be happy with him.. then show me. Come to the wedding. Support me. Alright… I only hope you won’t oppose that I bring Pedro.
At ElTal Pedro wants Teniente to explain… Again Inspector adds, he is interested for Mariana to show up so he can get divorced and marry Cameela.. Pedro offended now argues that what is important to him is that Mariana shows up alive and well…
Rennie on phone with Rita… they deduct it was Tracy who told Cameela about it… They are both upset… Rita rages that Rennie HAS to marry Elviral.. they need the money!!
Pigorio at The House of ladies, he grabs Bridgete by neck.. he is really angry about her hiding that Doris was working there… how could you not tell me??
Bri: But you loved it, didn’t you?
Pigorio: that is not the issue! You betrayed me!! You have kept it quiet all these years. As if you were crazy!! You owe me many favors!! That is why you had to tell me!!
Bridg: I warn you!! I you attack me again I swear I will tell Antonio why you married him to Doris!! (end of ep thriller moment)
Teniente reveals to Pedro that it was Antonio who brought up those ideas… no wonder!
Lookrazy does not doubt Antonio could accuse Pedro like that. Teniente asks Lookrazy if Antonio would go as far as hiring a woman to make the calls to accuse Pedro? Lookrazy stays quiet…
Fabiola remembers Antonio promises to back her up, but also remembers scary moment with Flo when they could hear Antonio beating her mother …
Alberta comes in and Fab confides in Alberta about Flo and Claudio… she is afraid of what her dad could do…
Doris thinks Pigorio needs to help her get rid of Cameela and harm Antonio…
Previews: will we have a wedding? Documents to sign and documents to cross hands (will and check, wedding certificate and check…)

Abismo de pasión #8 3/23/12: Fina Arango would be a classic case for the 'Laura' show... que pase la desgraciada!! and Orangina... well, send her to Iraq so the men can 'treat her right'
Tonight's recap courtesy of Marta Ivett (and it's a doozy).
There are truths that hurt too much, don’t they? Why don’t you go get a paternity test with Elisa? (even better just go to the Maury show!!)

La Que No Podía Amar #61 Wednesday 3/21/12
Labels: no-podia
Una Familia Con Suerte #174 Wed 3/21/12 so much stuff happens!
They have a fight, and the accordion is flung to the floor.
Moni tries to break up the fight, but ends up getting people mad at HER. Ana has a total fit and stomps out, followed by the others. Freddy is left, holding a giant balloon. He pops it with a pen and follows them out.
Pepe and Pancho have a heart-to-heart about Moni's leaving. They're wearing matching pajama bottoms. Pancho does a good job of cheering up his son.
Rebe calls Pancho, who responds just like Vins (Rebereberebe)...
At the airport, Mamazon looks just as absurd as ever... Pepe takes advantage of an opportunity for a slow-mo running moment and a tearful goodbye.
Rebe shows up to pull Temo out of school for a top-secret mission. . . "ir de pinta..." she will take him to the fair. huh?
Pancho butts heads with Pina and Vins, and Pancho says he'll no longer keep trying to have anything to do with them (you two smell like sulfur). After a huge amount of beating around the bush, Pina and Vins reveal their plan: they want to buy him out. They're cute, sitting him down in a chair and laying out all the things he could do with his free time. Pancho turns them down, but their interactions are positively hilarious. Pancho - I don't hate you... you're more like a pain in the [boioioioing], a rock in the tennis shoe.
I am immediately reminded that Chela is pregnant by the fact that she's painting stars on a wall. She counsels Ana to blame not Kari but Pina, and Enzo shows up with a huge heap of shopping bags full of baby stuff. are they jumping the gun? 9 months ahead of time.
Good lord, Candy is such a weak-willed dishrag. she's lying in an enormous bed with Napoleon, whining about how hard it is to be a "patrona."
On the scene of Rebe's kidnapping of Temo and taking him to the fair.
Fers apologizes to Pancho, but she'll be inviting Vins to her wedding. Pancho: Don diablo y dona diabla? Well, you've got no choice.
Ahh, aqui esta la neta, as they say. Rebe has something to ask Temo. He knows the fun has come to an end, and his hamburger freezes on its way to his mouth. She's worried about his grades, which seems like minimal rationale for this huge fair sequence, which must have been a pain to film.
While Monica is in France, Pepe meets a hot new mechanic.
Fred proposes to Ana. She stalls him for about 2 minutes, and says yes!
Meanwhile, Pancho is wearing a grotesque Pancho <3 a="" and="" br="" bunch="" employees="" for="" he="" his="" jacket.="" made="" of="" rebe="" removing="" s="" seductively="" shirts="" these="" to="" tshirt="" wear.="">
Frida, the hot mechanic is flirting rather aggressively with Pepe. She can joke with incomprehensible slang-y words just as well as Pepe and Pancho.
Now that Pina is back together with Vins, she's gotten mean again, a shift she demonstrates as she lays into Enzo for his "betrayal."
Beto: Chaos, ignominy, disaster! I've been called to speak to Vins!
Frida (mechanic chick) is a really perfect match for Pepe... she talks about her mom as "jefa," just like pepe has his "jefe." They enjoy some juice together.
Dona Fers is ALREADY getting into her wedding dress (with some assistance from Chela). Ana walks in and announces her proposal, super-excited, and the two ladies just look aghast and agape.3>

Una Familia Con Suerte #173 Wed 3/21/12 Sides are taken in two wars!
Candy asks Napo what's going on. "Things of business that wouldn't interest you." "But you had to come home so quickly from Las Vegas?!" "I had to make drastic decisions, I have many enemies." He wont let her meddle in his private business.
Candy remembers overhearing him telling Deborah: "Get back the USB and get rid of Sanches as fast as possible."
Vince is mad, he's throwing papers, because Pancho is on the first page of the paper, and he's the new owner of Avon. "Enzo, you must help me destroy him." But Enzo is silent - he's told Pancho "I'm on your side" ... and he's reconciling with Chela, who's having his baby!
Arnoldo to Rebe: "You aren't moved by, you don't care that Pancho is now so rrrrrich?" No, she doesn't care, and tells him not to meddle.
Pina and Vicente are going to oppose Pancho they ask Arnold "Whose side are you on?" "I am always on Pini's side!"
Vince is pressing on about his war. Enzo feels war is not necessary! "Are you with me or against me?" "But you are cousins." "But I detest him." Enzo declares for Pancho. Vince explodes, "I never want to see you again till the day I die! YOU'RE FIRED! You and he are of the lowest and most vulgar. You are still a carwasher at heart."
Chela happily tells Candy about her kiss with Enzo. Candy whispers: Napo is going to kill one of his rivals. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life at his side now that I see he's a murderer. "Get used to it or you'll die," Chela counsels.
Arnold, Vince, and Pina cement their alliance. "Let's destroy them!"
Enzo goes to see Rebe and Pancho. Pancho un-fires Enzo. "We must unite against the three of them! All for one and one for all!!"
Napo, without Candy, arrives for the family meeting Fer has called, with all his goons guarding him. Where's Candy? Temo is sulking in his room because of all the problems and doesn't want to do his homework. Chela is at his side but when Rebe arrives Temo throws himself into Rebe's arms!
Fer's announcement: she's marrying Doc Oc in a very simple ceremony with family and the most intimate friends, with a little after-party at Pancho's house. She will live with Doc Oc but will come to visit every day. Pancho floats a trial balloon of a proposal but she blows him off.
Freddy says the teenagers should have a good-bye party for Moni, right now.
Vince tells Kari he's disgusted to think of his son with Ana, he prefers Kari and her fine genes, blue eyes, and family money. EUGENICS R US.
Napo asks Pancho why he let Rebeca go. "Because I'm an idiot." "If you're trying to get her back, you're not being very effective." "It's not that easy - she isn't moved by material things."
Vince is sad that he's dumped Enzo after 20 years of friendship. Pina massages him in consolation. They plan an erotic evening.
The kids arrive at Enzo's house with flowers and accordion. Pepe sings Moni a love song. For a moment, all is happy, all is forgiven. However, Karina and Ana have a fight and Ana leaves. The flowers get trampled. Over to you, Ezra!

Abismo de pasión #7 3/20/12: She's Makin' a List...and Rollin' Her Eyes...
Casa Castañon:
Gunshot!
Lolita and Carmina let themselves into Augusto’s office – María Santísima, they had a key the whole time – and…it turns out he shot the wallpaper. “I’m a coward!” he sobs. Yeah, no kidding. What a waste of chili peppers.
The Citrus Sister hangs around to try to cheer him up as only she can. “She’s not worth suffering over; just forget about her. But meanwhile, what shall we do with her inconvenient corpse?” Augie says Estefanía will never enter this house again, nor will he ever speak her name. Coz that’s what love means, right?
[Poor Estefanía. I will miss her. She’s the only telenovela gal I’ve seen who can walk across the room in high hells without looking like a ten-dollar rental.]
Carmina goes out to tell the Body Squad to take her sister away. Blanca shows up with Elisa and tells them to take the body to the church for a funeral mass. Carmina starts to argue with her, pointing out that they are not a Catholic family, but Blanca is having none of it. Estefanía has been Catholic for a long time. Blanca wins.
[All of this calls the whole Linda-Blair-in-the-confessional scene into question, of course. Clearly Carmina is not Catholic, so she shouldn’t have been in there to begin with. And why would the Padre be bound to keep quiet about anything BeelzeBarbie says? Oh well; I guess it isn’t any weirder than the fact that the baby birds started out as parrots and ended up as doves.]
Meanwhile, Augie starts drinkin’. Well, somebody had to – it’s telenovela law, you know.
Church and Cemetery:
Rosendo’s funeral is very well attended, while Estefanía is off in a side-chapel with only Elisa, Lolita, Lucio and Blanca, and the Padre to attend her. Naturally both parties end up in the cemetery at the same time, and naturally – or unnaturally, I guess I should say – Alfonsina makes a big scene. She refuses to enter until the Castañon party has vacated the premises. When Damián moves forward to comfort Elisa, Alfie announces in front of God and everybody that he is forbidden to have anything to do with “the daughter of the woman who killed your father.” [What is with this chick? Did she get blackballed from the Little Chili Peppers sorority in junior high?] Padre Lupe finally shakes himself out of his dreamy trance and tells her to shut up. In the nicest possible way, of course.
Lucio, in a very classy move, asks Gael to escort the ladies back to Casa Castañon (they have been joined by Ramona and Paloma at this point.) He and Blanca will stay for the burial of Don Rosendo.
Later at Casa Arango:
The Padre brings Damián the amulet his father was wearing when he died. He thought he would want to have it. As the Padre leaves – he sure looks cute in his little dress! – Damián gets his mother’s abandoned amulet and holds the two together in his hand.
Gabino comes to pay his respects and tell Doña Alfonsina that he is at her service. [You know, that Gabino could be a bit of all right if he’d cut his hair and suds his pits a little. But I digress.] She accuses him of being complicit in her husband’s affairs, but he says that doing what he was told did not mean he approved. All right, then, you want to help? Cancel the contracts with the Castañon farm. I don’t want anything to do with those people ever again.
Back at Casa Castañon:
Carmina tells Gael to beat it; they don’t feel like socializing. Always the hostess. Meanwhile, Lucio berates Augusto – come out of your office already! Think of your daughter! Looks like wardrobe has given Augie a second fright wig to wear on top of the first one; no wonder he doesn’t want to go out. As he leaves, Lucio confronts Carmina about the amazing coincidence of her and Rosendo planning to leave town at the same time. “I had nothing to do with that man,” she says. Oh yeah? Then why were you arguing that day at the procesadora? Well, of course I went to tell him to stay away from my sister. “I don’t believe a word of it,” Lucio says. “And I hope one day God will make it all clear.” Honey, you better hope she doesn’t take to killin’, coz you’ll be number one on the list.
Entre las Dos Casas:
Presumably these houses are only about 14 feet apart, because people seem to teleport between them. Gabino catches Carmina skulking around the hallway and takes the opportunity to blackmail her – you’d better pay me off, or everyone will know it was really you who caused all this mess. She poofs back to her sister’s bedroom, where she raids the jewelry box. This better shut him up, she says to herself in the mirror, or I’ll kill him. Gabino moves to number one! Guau, that didn’t take long.
Elisa confronts her auntie about what she’s doing in Mom’s bedroom. Carmina says you mouthy little brat, your mama was too permissive with you, that’s the problem – from now on things will be different. Unfortunately, we believe her.
At the Church:
Ramona tells the padre that she was present at the accident and that the car was returning to La Eremita, not leaving -- and also she heard Steffi’s last words, something like, “I had to stop him, or them.” What’s more, she overheard Rosendo earlier in the day arguing with a woman who was definitely not Steffi. “Who was it? Who? Who?” squeaks the padre, apparently suffering a bout of amnesia (or misplaced professional discretion.) Sorry, I didn’t see her face. [You're going on the list sooner or later, hon, but for now we'll write your name in pencil.]
At the Blue House:
Carmina shows up to pay Gabino off with a pearl necklace. What am I supposed to do with this? It’s not like I can sell it. That’s what you get, she says; it’s all I have. What about this house? Don Rosendo put it in your name. [Yeah, it’s so much easier to sell a house than a necklace. No wonder you’re such a captain of industry.] She says don’t play games with me – you’ve got as much to lose as I do. If I tell Alfonsina how deep you were into all this subterfuge, there’s no way you’ll ever be the Big Chili Pepper at the factory, and there go your delusions of grandeur. She tells him he makes her sick and marches out to the front patio, where she really does look sick.
Penultimate Shocker:
That nasty little Begoña visits Alfonsina and manages to insinuate – hell, she actually comes out and says – that Augusto knew about the “affair,” he was wildly jealous, and she wouldn’t be surprised if he provoked the accident somehow. Which means, of course, that Augusto killed your husband. Shouldn’t he pay for that? Huh? Shouldn’t he? Guess she didn’t get into the Little Chili Peppers either. And they probably drew a mean picture of her on the playground sidewalk.
Ultimate Shocker:
Carmina topples backward on the church steps and her eyes roll back in her head, which is to say, she looks the same as usual – horizontal and crazy – but for once she’s not running her mouth, so they get worried and take her to the doctor. ¡Sorpresa! You’re pregnant...Señorita. Wonder how long it will take Mrs. Dr. Begoña to shop that all over town? Orangina better get fizzy in a hurry – and we know with whom…
