Navidad Sin Fin - Dec. 22, 2006

EPISODE 10 (Dec. 22, 2006):
Padre Miguel looks up - Angelita comes over and helps him up to return to the dining room.

Yolanda and the others in the dining room wonder where Angelita and Padre Miguel are. As Yolanda gets up to look for them, Angelita and Padre Miguel return to the dining room and rejoin everyone around the table. Alberto and Mauricio talk about their search for the angel children. Padre Miguel listens to them. Alberto is excited and is sure they will find the little angels. Matilde makes a comment and Rodo starts to laugh.

Ma and Pa talk in private about how to stay on plan and inherit everything from Matilde - they have to find a way to separate her from Angelita and Rodo.

Matilde talks about her son to Angelita and Rodo. She tells them that her son had spoken to her about angels. Angelita tells her an explanation.

In the apartment, Pancho is talking with Alejandra about the angel search. She doesn't understand; Pancho tries to explain; She wonders how they can find them; Pancho says that Padre Miguel can help. She starts to question the motivation of Alberto - Pancho gives Alejandra a compliment - they smile and laugh.

Rigoberto is with Padre Miguel in his church office. Rigoberto tells Padre Miguel about Pancho and the men who are searching for the angels. Rigoberto asks about angels, if they exist, if they can actually cure illnesses? Padre Miguel does his best to explain the answers. Padre Miguel walks Rigoberto out of the office and continues to talk with him. A voice from the statue says, "Finally, Miguel."

Nati is in the kitchen. Yolanda and Dad enter. Nati leaves to do some work. Dad shows Yolanda a paper that Belinda had received. He advises her of what needs to happen now. Yolanda assures her dad not to worry, she can handle anything. She leaves with the tray for Matilde.

Padre Miguel and Rigoberto continue their discussion, as they arrive at Alejandra and Rigoberto's apartment.

Pancho returns to the hotel room. He and Mauricio get into a heated argument. Alberto interrupts and tells Pancho about what they found out about the search and the business deal. Alberto and Mauricio needs to set a trap for Angelita and Rodo in order to catch them. Pancho listens as Alberto and Mauricio whisper to each other about using Matilde to trap them. They leave Pancho in the room alone.

As Yolanda talks with Matilde and Angelita, Rodo takes a look and whiff of the drink in the pitcher, he waves his arm over the pitcher, and serves the drinks. Yolanda becomes nervous and Rodo smiles as Matilde and Angelita talk about Alfonso and angels. Yolanda watches with baited breath as Matilde drinks.

On the town square, Sebastian walks with a local mariachi band. When Pancho approaches, they stop. The band leaves. Pancho tells Sebastian what he overheard Alberto and Mauricio talking about. Pancho doesn't trust them and thinks it would be a really big mistake if Sebastian believes Alberto and Mauricio. Sebastian doesn't believe Pancho; they argue. It heats up into insults and then to punching match.

In the kitchen, Ma, Pa and Yolanda talk in private - the poison didn't work, says Yolanda. Matilde has had no reaction whatsoever to the poisoned drink. They plot another way to get what they want and have Matilde under their control.

Later, Angelita finds Yolanda in the kitchen. Angelita questions her about trying to poison her, Rodo and Matilde. Yolanda denies all charges. Angelia gives her a warning. Yolanda smiles as Angelita leaves. Yolanda quickly gets dizzy, has a nightmare vision, and drops the glass from her hand onto the floor. Yolanda screams when she sees the bloody steaming welt on her hand.

At the restaurant, Alberto and Mauricio join the townspeople for Christmas dinner. Rencho proposes a toast to Don Alberto and his business interest in the town. Sebastian wanders in and sits down beside Alberto. Sebastian tells them about Pancho's commentaries and suspicions; Mauricio and Alberto also wonder if Matilde has made any possible business decisions. They will contact Matilde and Yolanda in the morning.

Nati is in the kitchen. Dad walks in and starts making critical comments about the ingredients being used for Christmas; Dad sends her out to find the right spices in his opinion. Nati leaves grumbling.

In the room, Matilde and Angelita say good-night. Matilde thanks Angelita and Rodo for their help. As Angelita leaves, Yolanda, holding the beverage pitcher, enters the room to check on Matilde.

Rencho talks with Casimiro and Alejandra as they work. Padre Miguel comes in and tells Rencho to stop work on the factory. Rencho can't believe the request, but agrees to do so and leaves. Padre Miguel speaks with Casimiro; Alejandra apologizes to Padre Miguel because she will not be able to work at the church anymore. Padre Miguel accepts her apology and wants to speak with her about something very important.

Sebastian lets Pancho out of jail. Pancho questions why is he doing it? Sebastian explains. Pancho talks about a beautiful angelic lady he adores (Rigoberto's mom). Sebastian laughs and talks about it with Pancho.

In the living room, Ma and Pa are very nervous and scared. Yolanda enters carrying the drink pitcher. Yolanda tells them nothing to worry about, she took care of Matilde. They are still nervous and don't hear or see Yolanda. Ma and Pa are still nervous and leave. Yolanda asks why don't they see or hear her? What happened? Angelita shows off her pair of angel wings and explains why Yolanda is invisible to Ma and Pa. As Yolanda begins to warp her shape, she screams.

Ma and Dad are very worried; Matilde enters the living room; they tell her they haven't seen or heard from Yolanda since last night and are very worried. Matilde tells them her hunch that Yolanda may be in town. She's young and in love. Ma and Pa don't think that is it. Matilde suggests going to ask Mauricio. They will wait for awhile to see if Yolanda appears. Matilde tells them she is having lunch with Angelita and Rodo today. Matilde meets Angelita and Rodo at the front door. They leave. Yolanda (now the phantom ghost) tries to pour Matilde a drink from her pitcher - Matilde ignores it like she can't even see it. Angelita and Rodo enter - Matilde greets them and they leave for lunch. Rodo gets hungry just thinking about chiliquiles (mexican tortilla casserole).

At the apartment, Alejandra talks with Rigoberto about his visit with Padre Miguel. She also knows that he is the one responsible for putting angels on all her clothes. Alejandra comments about her jobs and she is reducing her work load - Rigoberto asks, "No more late night work?" She responds, "No more." They smile and hug.

At the hotel room, Pancho antagonizes Mauricio as he does his tai chi/tae kwon do. Alberto has to rush in and break it up again. Alberto also reminds Pancho to cool it, they have a legally binding contract. Pancho is disgusted and questions Alberto's motives for the search. Pancho leaves - Alberto receives an important phone call on his cell phone. Afterwards he tellls Mauricio, "...There are three ways to kill an angel."

Pancho finds Padre Miguel at his church office. Pancho and Padre Miguel talk. Pancho mentions Dona Reina and Pedro and faith in the two special angels. Pancho asks if Padre Miguel has found them, or knows where they may be; Padre Miguel tries to deny it, but through faith and his eyes, Pancho knows that Padre Miguel is lying. Padre Miguel admits knowing Angelita and Rodo. Pancho asks if he will help them find Angelita and Rodo also. Padre Miguel comments, "if they want to be found, they will find you. If they don't want to be found, they won't be." Pancho shows Padre Miguel the emulet from Dona Reina.

Rigoberto goes to the restaurant. He talks with Casimiro, and returns the teddy bear. Angelita, Rodo and Matilde enter. Casimiro returns Gabriel to Rodo - Rodo is very happy to have the teddy bear again. Angelita speaks with Rigoberto. Rigoberto has another episode and faints on the ground. Matilde runs over the boy and picks him up in her arms - she knows about this disease because her son had it also. She looks at the boy's face and realizes that Rigoberto is her grandson!

Mundo de Fieras -Thursday 12/21/06 Another One Down, But Who's Counting?

Alone in Mariangela’s house, Clemente suffers a tremendous stab of pain in his head as he remembers all the nasty events that took place the night Jos and his wife, Miriam, threw him out into the street. After remembering every detail, Clemente is determined not to let anyone but Gabe know he has fully recovered his memory nor the truth about Jos not really being his daughter. (This is a sure sign Clemente’s time card is about to be punched.) He wants to protect Mariangela from her and Miriam. Gabe is the only one he feels can resolve things properly. He determines Gabe will be able to help him change his will so Mariangela will inherit everything (uh, didn’t he just say he remembered being dispossessed of all his wealth? Well, maybe his memory is still a bit fuzzy so we need to give it a pass.)

Gabe and Demian have just returned together to the office from the jail and Demian swears to his twin brother that he is neither lying nor deceiving him. (The old Demian is definitely back in the proverbial saddle—and it was about time, too!) He swears he had nothing to do with Little Lui’s kidnapping. El Coyote, he reminds him, admitted he did it as a personal vendetta. Gabe isn’t so sure what to think and replies that El Coyote was darned convincing when he was accusing Demian. (Doesn’t this man ever trust his first impressions?)

Jos, Karen and Miriam are strategizing in her office. Karen tells them she is certain Otilia was fool enough to believe all the lies she told her and will no doubt offer her that job. (Don’t bank on it, Karencita!) Miriam says it is very important for them to know every step she takes. They have to lie in wait and stalk her. (Enough already with the jungle metaphors.....) Karen mentions that Dolores was there outside Otilia’s shop and asked to come around again and Karen finally gave in. Miriam tells them that keeping Dolores tranquil by letting her visit with Karen is the best thing. Karen’s antenna goes up and she asks her grandmother what the reason is that they are afraid of her. What does she know about them? Miriam hisses at her to stop talking nonsense.

Dolores has a chat with Otilia about Karen and asks her to reconsider hiring Karen. It would give Dolores a chance to help straighten out the girl’s life by getting her away from Miriam’s clutches. Otilia warns Dolores that from where she sits Karen is just a mini-Miriam and not worth the trouble. Otilia then talks directly with Dolores and says she realizes Karen is not the reason she came to chat. Dolores admits then that after the trial proceedings the day before and their earlier chat, she is convinced that Federico did not kill her brother. Otilia agrees and says just between the two of them that she is certain it was Jos. She is angry and feels it is over the top that he should be taking the rap for her and there is nothing they can do for him. Dolores says there will be.

Regina is at the office and afterward asks Demian what happened with Gabe and what did he tell his brother about the kidnapping. He says he told him the obvious, that he had nothing to do with it. Demian tells her it is important she does not stop trusting in him because of a misunderstanding. Regina tells him he has changed and so she does trust him, but if she found out it was a deceit on his part, she would never forgive Demian. He just smiles at her with that “endearing” self-assured smile of his.

Mariangela gets a call from Leo and says her daddy is getting his memory back and figures the new eye treatment should also work for him. Leo tries to explain it is still something experimental. When he hangs up he tells himself he will never get over her so he asks his supervisor to let him work in the lab during the day. The head doctor warns him the lab is full of contagion and one has to be alert in there. He worries that Leo is overworking himself and is wearing himself out. (Hint, hint.) They agree to consider it later.

Paula is visiting Little Lui at the manse and has a severe cramp in her belly. On her way out of the house she has another and faints. Mayeya finds her a couple minutes later, lying on the floor in front of the front door. She calls Gabe who rushes over there and somebody calls her doctor to come over right away. (Doctors apparently still make house calls down in Mexico.)

Dolores returns to Demian’s house as Belen and Simona are leaving, suitcases in hand. Belen explains that although she does not want him to get into trouble (Why in the hell not?), they are leaving because the night before Tiberio tried to rape her.

Otilia congratulates Diana for having fooled Rogelio at the club the night before. (I remember her having him kiss her feet before Diana took her mask off and gave him the shock of his life. VERY nice touch, Diana!) Otilia suggests that now they know he and Tiberio are co-owners of that strip club, if Rogelio tries anything against her she will be able to threaten him with telling his daddy about it. They have a nice giggle at that.

Gabe has just left to race over to the manse because of Paulina’s fainting and cramps. Clemente heads out to the nearest pay phone with little David in tow, to call him and speak to him privately. He can only leave an urgent message for Gabe to call him back as soon as possible.

Diana meets Pedro for lunch and must let him down easy. She tells him she is dealing with too many changes in her life right now to think about love. I guess he will be going to study on scholarship in that foreign country after all.
The doctor tells JC and Paulina that her condition is very fragile and she must be extremely careful not to move around, and so on, or she will probably lose the baby. Upstairs at her bedside Gabe, Regina, and Demian are giving the newlyweds their moral support. (You know, every time Demian and Regina stand beside each other it looks like American Gothic gone urban; and Laura Flores’ costumer must have had her head on backwards! She is only missing the matching Jackie Kennedy pillbox hats with these ugly 60’s retro-suits they keep putting on her. All together now, can we say “STOD-GY”?) Demian shocks them all when he promises to exhaust all his resources to insure that her baby is born. (Show off!)

Jos complains to Miriam about Gabe’s accusing her of killing Edgar. Miriam advises her to keep Gabe calm and quiet by treating Lil Lui the right way. Jos whines that she cannot stand being anywhere near the kid and Miriam knows darned well that’s why she avoids him like the plague. (With this kid, I can’t say I blame her for wanting to steer clear of him.) Miriam loses it finally, and starts yelling that if Gabe decides to go back to court (to fight for custody) they will not have the funds to fight him. So, she had better well mend her ways or face the consequences. (From the look in Jos’s eyes, it could be Lui who may again have to face these consequences.)

Dolores waits for her Tiberio to get home and confronts him about attacking Belen. She asks if he ever thinks of the consequences of his actions. He tries to shrug off the incident and says if she is worried about his getting her pregnant, well she won’t be the first or the last girl to have that happen. (What a gross pig Demian raised him to be while you were in the slammer!) Ti tells his mother she got pregnant like that too, but she reminds him there is a difference between giving yourself over for love and getting pregnant from being raped. He swears he didn’t do anything to hurt Belen, and she can believe him or not; it is all the same to him. Dolores warns him that she’ll defend him and support him in most things, but she will not abide those sorts of acts.

Leo checks out Clemente’s eyes. --Regina and Pau bond at bedside. --Silvestre goes to the strip club and fails at trying to talk Elsa out of going on stage to pole dance. She goes up top and the crowd goes wild for her.
Demian and Gabe inform Miriam, Jos and Karen when they return home, that Pau is in bed upstairs and cannot be moved. She will have to stay. Jos is rude at first, but Gabe reminds her the house, although in Clemente’s name, is still his. (Slap! Swat!) Regina tells them she’ll send Dolores over to be her personal nurse. Though Jos is obviously upset, she backs down and says she’ll be “delighted” to host them all. There are plenty of bedrooms for everybody.

A bit later Jos overhears Mayeya and Cortito discuss the fact that Clemente is getting his memory back. Jos tells this to Miriam who says now they’ll have to get rid of him. She tells Jos to get the liquid, put it into his drink and make sure he drinks it all. (Jos gets to off somebody again and she cannot wait to get going!)

Mariangela leaves to visit Paulina after daydreaming about the first time she met Gabe. Candy comes to look after her dad. Clemente tells Cande that nobody can know, but he has gotten back all of his memory.

Mariangela and Jos exchange insults in the hallway before she goes up to visit Paulina. Miram goes into her bedroom safe and starts pulling out her various pieces of jewelery. They’re strewn all over the bed when Karen comes in and Miriam tells her she’s needing to sell them while times are tough on them financially.

Regina asks Dolores to take care of Paulina and hopes she doesn’t mind that it will be at Jos and Miriam’s place, because it means she will have to live there for a while. Everybody is staying over to take care of or watch over Paulina. That includes Gabe and JC, so Karen and Jos couldn’t be happier.

Candy makes Clemente tea, but finds no sugar. She leaves for a few minutes to get some. While she’s out, Jos sneaks in. She tells Clemente it is her and he becomes frightened of her. When he puts his mug down she puts in the liquid. She leaves and he drinks the whole mug full without realizing what she has put into his tea. (This stuff is odorless and tasteless, I guess.) Jos waits outside till it takes affect and then comes back in, washes the mug, puts more tea in it and leaves it next to him on the end table. He is dead but looks asleep on the couch.

Jos walks out the door and is standing there ready to leave the little yard when she runs into Candelaria coming back. Candy asks what she wants and Jos tells her she had regretted her past mean behavior. She has come to visit her daddy and wants to beg his forgiveness. Candy is surprised at this change in her attitude but decides to believe her. She goes in to see if Clemente will relent and speak with Jos. She goes in and sees him “napping” on the couch and goes out to tell Jos she’ll have to come back because he is sound asleep.

Mariangela comes downstairs and runs into Gabe. He walks her outside to say good-bye. They lament the fact that they cannot do anything about the way they feel since Jos and Mariangela are sisters. They hug and say “I love you” to one another at the same time that Leo walks up the drive with his medical bag to check on Pau himself. Mariangela walks away a bit uncomfortable to be seen like this with Gabe.

Jos comes back home and tells her mother that Clemente has ceased to be a problem of any sort now. She killed him.

Mariangela gets back home and sees her father lying on the couch. She has to look again because he doesn’t seem quite right. As she nears him she realizes he is dead, not asleep. She hugs him tightly and cries heartbroken again.

La Fea Más Bella #172 12/21/06 in which Lety enjoys the attention of a cute amateur psychiatrist lobster-fisherman in cutoffs.

  • Lety marvels at Aldo: "What a beautiful smile you have..." Without glasses, she squints thoughtfully and gratefully at him. He says they are like brother and sister now that he's saved her life. He has a ring around his neck very like the one she just found in the sand. He says, "I'm so glad to meet you, you're a beautiful person." He tells her to call him "just Aldo." She tells him she has another brother-friend (Tomas). Aldo says he has nobody close to him and she sympathizes: "It must be hard to lose the people you love." As they walk the beach, she says: "You're so agile and springy - I'm such a city girl." "Is that why you were in the ocean in your shoes?"

I want you all to cut Aldo a break, at least till he starts being a jerk. He's nice, cute, he's listening sympathetically, he's supportive, he's single, he's not her boss, and he's not engaged to anybody. What a welcome change that must be!

Aldo tells her she needs to give things up ("these shoes, for instance," pretending to throw them in the sea). Lety: "Did you renounce your family, is that how you lost them?" "Yes, my father had planned my life according to his own needs, which had nothing to do with mine. He got furious when I told him what I wanted to do." "Yes, I guess he'd be bothered that his son wanted to be a lobster fisherman, I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that, but there aren't that many lobsters, or, well, there isn't much of a future in that career." Aldo is laughing. Lety: "But was it worth it to exchange everything for your liberty?" "I'm a completely happy man." "You don't sound convinced." "How could I not be happy when I have all this?" (Gestures towards the ocean.)

"Tell me, living in a place like this, Leticia, couldn't you feel free?" "Yes, but I don't live here, my place is far away." "No, your place is the infinite universe." "No, I live in a tiny, reduced place." "Reduced to one name, Fernando?"

She scolds him for reading her writing in the sand, he reminds her she almost drowned and wonders if she somehow wanted to drown. Luckily, from there the walk and talk becomes lighthearted and silly and he dandles her shoes in front of her all the way back to the hotel where they sit very close and she tells him her entire tale of woe (I don't need to repeat it, since you all lived through it at length). It is intercut with sweet scenes of Fern mooning over her empty office.
  • Back in Mexico City, Fernando calls Lety's house and asks Julieta about her. His voice is respectful, sweet, and warm: "Can it be you've heard nothing? Will you please let me know when you get a report?" Robopop: "Why didn't you tell him she called? Since when does she play cat and mouse with this man? I don't like it at all." Tomas: "Is she still coming home today?" "Dunno, she hasn't called again."
  • Lety, in conclusion, boils down her problems to being the consequence of her ugliness. Aldo says if she loved herself more, she wouldn't have gotten to such a terrible place, and if she learns to love herself sufficiently, men won't betray her.

He flirts gently, looks searchingly and sweetly into her eyes [I have NOT abandoned Fern! I'm just trying to give the new guy a chance...], tries on her shoes when she says "You'd have to stand in my shoes to understand," and touches her hair, which makes her jump and yelp. He says: "I believe in you, you inspire me." She says he's given her a bit of confidence too.
  • The cuartel is reduced to wanly speculating about Lety and the various goings-on - it's hard to gossip when you have no information at all.

Irmita arrives. The cuartel pulls her in one direction, Luigi pulls her in the other. He finally has to swallow his pride and, for the sake of getting the story, goes with the girls to THEIR boardroom - which, he hadn't realized, is the lady's bathroom. Simon, who is evidently used to meeting here, consoles him. Irmita rehashes about her sad-sack ex coming home to die.
  • Marcia tells Alicia she can't pardon Fernando after all. She sits in her office, looks over the dreaded Carvahallmarks and stuffed animals, stuffs them back in the garbage bag, and then thrusts the whole lot in Fern's hand. She wants an assurance he did it all for business, not love - he stays silent. (Later he answers her question when he's alone in Lety's office: "I did it because I'm crazy in love with Lety.")
  • Fern's parents arrive for another meeting. Humberto tells Luigi he will have to continue taking orders from Fern. In the boardroom Teresita greets Marcia with sympathy and asks what they can do for her. "Don't blame yourselves for what's happened, and don't feel sorry for me."

Nobody greets Fern and Omar when they come in from the doghouse, our two big stupid shaggy beautiful dogs in deep doodoo. Silence.

Ariel arrives with two lawyers. He viciously mocks Alicia's carlessness and says he guesses she wasn't worth 500,000 pesos after all. He offers her his slimy friends again, then says: "Be sure there's coffee in the meeting room this time."

Humberto passes all the papers over to the lawyers. They note disapprovingly: Lety's letter giving up control of the business is "improvised" and also is not notarized. "Where is she?"

The parental units tell Fern to have Lety there tomorrow! The meeting adjourns. Fern asks Omar rhetorically how he is going to find Lety since her family is not talking. Omar asks: "Are you more afraid of facing her father, or your own?"
  • Aldo asks Lety: "What's the most important thing about you?" Instantly: "That I'm ugly." But on reflection she adds: "I'm loyal, honest, affectionate, sweet, and intelligent - though not intelligent in love. I like to help people." She tells how she loves to laugh with Tomas, they're like a circus.

Suddenly she asks what time it is and, hearing that it's noon, she jumps up, says she has to go back to Doña Carolina Angeles. Taken aback, Aldo says: "Doña Carolina??!!! What a strange world..." but Lety isn't listening and has already run off. Aldo murmurs to her back, "I myself once made the mistake of loving another more than myself..."

Navidad Sin Fin - Dec. 21, 2006

EPISODE 9:
Alejandra and Rigoberto look at Pancho like he's crazy, and wonder what is his problem. They walk away, leaving Pancho stunned.

Ma and Pa talk with Matilde in her bedroom. He tells her of the production problems at the hacienda factory - he wants her to sign over power of attorney for the business to him. Matilde asks why bother? she has no interest in the business. He explains it is a legal formality - he and ma show her where to sign. Nati enters and says that Matilde has visitors - Padre Miguel and her invitees Angelita and Rodo. Matilde is so excited she leaves with Nati, before signing anything. Ma and Pa are so disappointed.

Matilde greets Padre Miguel and Angelita and Rodo in the living room. She tells Angelita and Rodo they will be her guests there at the house - Nati is hesitant but Matilde insists. Angelita and Rodo thank her for her kindness and hospitality and leave with Nati to see the rooms. Matilde and Padre Miguel talk in private about her feelings and how similar Angelita and Rodo are to her son Alfonso - like he's giving her a sign or something. Padre is skeptical and asks her profound questions, that make her think.

In the square, Sebastian and Alberto are walking and discussing the business plan (where to build a factory). Alberto calls over to Pancho to join them - Pancho shows his new drawing of Angelita and Rodito and Gabriel. Alberto is happy and compliments Pancho; he asks Sebastian for help in their search for the children. Sebastian says that the best one to ask is Padre Miguel, he knows all the children in town. Pancho looks over and shouts to Mauricio and Yolanda about the boy next to their car. Mauricio and Yolanda look down and walk by Rigoberto to get to the car door. Rigoberto stands and holds out his hand for payment - Mauricio ignores it and tries to open the door - it won't open. Pancho reveals that the teddy bear the boy is holding is Gabriel - he thinks the boy is Rodito - Alberto is excited and asks Sebastian if it is true. Sebastian clears up the confusion by revealing that the boy is Rigoberto, Alejandra's son.

Casimiro talks and consoles Alejandra at the restaurant. Alejandra is in tears over Rigoberto's illness and that he is terminal and she can't do anything to about it.

Rigoberto is wandering through the cemetery. He starts to have another episode and falls down on the ground. Pancho rushes over to him - Pancho picks him and calls for help. Rigoberto regains consciousness and starts to weakly talk with Pancho. Pancho sits down on the ground with Rigoberto, and asks him if he believes in angels.

Casimiro and Alejandra are sitting at a table - Alejandra opens up and confesses her worst fears about her son's diagnosis and treatment. She wonders how she can accept it? Casimiro consoles and empathizes with her (his daughter died years ago).

Pancho and Rigoberto walk and stop at the grave with an angel statue headstone. They discuss angels - Rigoberto mentions all the paintings at Padre Miguel's office, and all the statues and markers. Pancho brings up angels that are living among them. Rigoberto and Pancho discuss how to find them.

Matilde sits in the living room talking with Padre Miguel, Angelita and Rodo. They discuss love from the heart, and Matilde brings up her heartbreak over her son's death. Angelita says she, like everyone else, will suffer from one major heartbreak in a lifetime. Matilde can't accept what Angelita is telling her, of which Padre Miguel agrees with Angelita. Matilde leaves the room. Rodo follows her into the hallway and gives her some wise advice to forget about the pain right this very minute and start to live and be happy again.

Pancho and Rigoberto walk from grave to grave, looking at all the flowers - Rigoberto tells Pancho what his mother says about the children and the flowers. They continue the angel discussion. When they stop at one grave, Pancho asks about Rigoberto's father. Rigoberto doesn't answer.

Yolanda returns home and escorts Alberto and Mauricio inside the formal living room. Yolanda offers that they stay there at the house while they are in town, and asks Nati to fix up the guest rooms. Nati refuses - the rooms are occupied by Matilde's guests. Nati refuses to say who the guests are. Yolanda asks where Matilde is; Nati says out of the house, but she doesn't know where she went.

Padre Miguel meets in his office with Sebastian and Casimiro.

In the living room, Alberto and Mauricio discuss their own interests in the small town of Pueblo Grande. Yolanda brings her dad in the room to meet with Alberto and Mauricio.

Angelita and Rodo are in the kitchen - Nati tells them of the list of things she needs to do for Christmas - Angelita and Rodo jump in and lend a hand. Matilde and her assistant/driver enter the kitchen. Matilde is happy and smiling with all the busy work. She tells Rodo and Angelita about donating her son's clothes to the shelter - she is so happy and excited for Christmas this year and her future. She starts to plan what decorations, flowers and other items they need for the holidays. Angelita smiles as Rodo gets so excited he shows his wings to Angelita.

In the town square, Rigoberto and Pancho sit on a bench. Rigoberto tells Pancho about his illness, treatment and all the visits he and his mom have had to make to doctor's offices and hospitals. Pancho tells him about the angelitos and the miracles he has seen them perform. Rigoberto is pessimistic that they will help him, and cries about his mom.

Casimiro and Padre Miguel are alone in the office talking about faith and helping the poor. Padre Miguel confesses that he has lost faith in people, and hasn't converted a single person in a very long time. Casimiro tries to energize him to continue his work and keep the faith, but Padre Miguel is disillusioned.

Rigoberto is at the apartment when Alejandra arrives with more medicine. She gives him a spoonful from one bottle. She notes his sad mood and he tells her about the attack. He asks her questions; she tells about believing in the angel of mercy; he thinks his illness is a punishment. Alejandra is shocked and tries to console and assure him. Rigoberto confesses all the lies he's told to her about how he's feeling, how well he really is, the attacks. Alejandra assures him that she loves him with all her heart. They hug. Rigoberto gets up from the bed and surprises Alejandra by saying that they will need to find the angels.

Still in the church office, Padre Miguel has his hands on his face. Casimiro looks over and notices a couple pieces from the chess game were moved around. Padre Miguel is stunned as he takes a look at the game pieces, and wonders if someone did it or if it was a sign from above.

Matilde and Yolanda's dad meet with Alberto and Mauricio in the living room. Matilde questions Alberto about the business deal. Yolanda and her dad help to explain and introduce her to the men. Matilde isn't thrilled and says she will think about it and leaves.

Sebastian meets with his associates about the possible plan for a factory in Pueblo Grande, if Matilde gives her approval. Padre and Casimiro enter the office; Padre Miguel gives his opinion on the subject. Padre and Casimiro walk into the hall to ask Sebastian if he moved some of the chess pieces while he was in the office. Sebastian says no. Padre and Casimiro discuss whether Angelita or Rodo did it or if it was divine intervention. The associates call out to Sebastian, wondering what they are discussing. Casimiro and Padre Miguel leave.

Pancho stops by the apartment and visits with Alejandra, about Rigoberto's illness and the angels. Alejandra wonders why they should believe; Pancho convinces her that angels do really exist (tells about Pedro and Veronica). Alejandra asks him to help them. Pancho and Alejandra hug.

Matilde sits down to lunch with her family, Alberto, Mauricio, Angelita and Rodo. They discuss Christmas preparations. Dad and Mom are skeptical of actually having anything at the house for Christmas because of Alfonso's death. Matilde, with help from Angelita, keeps her cheerful spirit and doesn't let their depressing pessimism spoil her mood. Alberto starts to give his opinions, when Nati escorts Padre Miguel in the room to interrupt. Padre Miguel and Angelita leave to talk in private. Rodo stands up to speak to the group.

Padre Miguel and Angelita are in a nursery playroom. Padre Miguel asks Angelita about the chess pieces and helping with the children's programs. Angelita becomes very profound and reminds him of his prayers for help and that there are many of them there to help him if he just opens his eyes and looks around. (Padre is in black with a white light shining on his face/Angelita is in the white spotlight.)

They are struggling and Belen is screaming when Simona appears with a bottle of wine held by the neck as a weapon. She orders Tiberio to let Belen go. He throws Belen down on the floor and then gets on top of her saying that she isn’t anything but a ‘cualquiera.’ This gives Simona the opportunity to brain him with the wine bottle. He rolls off Belen and the two women leave him unconscious on the floor with all the broken glass.

Leo bursts into Candelaria’s house where MA is waiting for him. They are about to go out looking for her when she staggers into the house. ‘I think I am going to die of hurt and shame, ‘says Candelaria, ‘I went to see your sister.’ ‘What has happened to her?’ asks Leo. Candelaria tells them that Elsa was dancing almost naked in front of a lot of men in a club run by El Mastin. Leo is impactado and is about to run there in a rage but Candelaria and MA persuade him not to go as it would just make things worse. Candelaria says that she needs him to be calm and help persuade Elsa to leave this ‘mal camino’ [bad road]. Leo agrees.

Demian goes to see Coyote in prison. Coyote starts off by saying that if he goes down so does Demian but Demian tells him that there is no proof that he was involved in Luisito’s kidnapping. As thanks for his service in the past, Demian will tell Coyote what he must do and Demian will hire a good lawyer to get Coyote out of prison. Coyote agrees. Demian says that he must change his statement to say that he doesn’t know Demian and that Demian had nothing to do with Luisito’s kidnapping. Coyote agrees. As Demain leaves the prison, he exchanges a significant glance with a mean-looking inmate who is tucking a big wad of cash in his shirt. The inmate says to himself that yes Coyote will be leaving the prison soon – in a coffin!

MA gets a job sewing for Otilia’s house of fashion.

Simona tells Regina that she and Belen have decided to leave her house and go live in the provinces. Simona says that it is because Belen doesn’t have a job but when Regina says that she can help Belen get one, Simona says that they have made their decision. Regina is sad to her go and they both cry.

Demian comes to Gabriel’s office and says that he reiterates his statement that he had nothing to do with Luisito’s kidnapping and he can prove it. ‘How?’ says Gabriel. ‘Come with me,’ says Demian.

MA pawns some jewelry to get money to buy a sewing machine so she can earn money sewing to help her father get his sight back.

Demian and Gabriel go to see Coyote in prison. Coyote swears that he lied when he said that Demian had given him the order to kidnap Luisito. He says that he initially accused Demian because he was refused a job in his company and that was the reason he kidnapped Luisito. Since it apparently doesn’t occur to Gabriel that Coyote could have been influenced by a powerful person like Demian to change his declaration, he is confounded.

Karen asks for a job in Otilia’s house of fashion. Otilia points out that she is in competition with Karen’s grandmother’s business. Karen swears that she isn’t like her mother and grandmother and really, really wants to work in Otilia’s shop. Otilia doesn’t appear to be convinced but she hires her anyway.

MA comes home with her sewing machine and tells Candelaria that she can do sewing after she finishes teaching to earn money for treatment for her father. Candelaria says that she already works so much. Clemente comes in and seems to be regaining some of his memory.

Delores tries to talk to Karen about her father but she isn’t interested. Delores asks for some time to try and get Karen to accept her and if she fails, she swears that she will leave Karen alone forever.

Miriam’s dress shop is not doing well and she and Joselyn are in financial trouble. Miriam tells Joselyn that they have to reduce their expenses. Joselyn is not to use her credit cards anymore. [They could save a lot if Josleyn stopped buying eye makeup.]

Clemente is sitting alone when he suddenly grabs his head and cries out. Then he says that he has remembered everything, absolutely everything!!!!
The credits roll.

Tomorrow: Will MA find out that Joselyn isn’t her sister or will Joselyn murder him first???

La Fea Más Bella #171 12/20/06 Saimon gets in touch with his feminine side, Fer broods, Irma assists, Luigi snips, Caro yells, and Lety dies drowning...

...but is revived at the hands of one sexy fisherman with a great Argentinian accent - love him!

Oh, I missed putting this last part in the title? ;) Gotcha...

Whoops, forgot to mention earlier the new intro...hmm...It's nice to see something different. It's almost like a completely new novela now, just the same old characters. Well, thank goodness for that as we love them so much! Best of both worlds, really. I'm always bummed out when one ends and a new one begins because I'll miss the cast, but I like to see new locations, and we don't have this problem here. And yeah, the intro does seem to lay out a road map for what's coming up and spoils it for us, but alas, we're stuck I guess.

********

Rafael is in bed Irma is asking him if he feels better, he said yes, my blood pressure just went up and that’s why I passed out. She tells him to rest.

Luigi says he’s going to need a double dose of cuddles from his Rulli so he can get rid of the impression he got when the light when on (he must be referring to seeing Rafael on the floor). Irma says he’s sleeping now so, Luigi you can go. He says he’s not going until he learns the gossip. She tells him that Rafael has been here for a few days and now that she knows he’s dying, and he passed out, she can’t kick him out. Luigi says so he’s in his final days. You have to tell me everything. I imagine this is your husband that left you. Yes, he is. She says, look you don’t really care about the gossip, you just want to stay with me, huh, thank you. Luigi smiles.

Lety is telling her mother on the phone that she just wants to go home. J- asks her if she is going to resign from her work. L says this isn’t her work. Tomas asks to speak with her. He asks her if she has sun-tanned and if she’s black now. She tells him she has barely even been out in the sun, and she hasn’t even swam in the ocean. The waves have only touched her feet. Tomas thinks that a good thing because that way the sharks won’t get agitated. He wants her to put in a good word for him with all the beauty queens and she tells him she’s not going to because she’s coming home tomorrow. Tomorrow? Tomas is impactado.

Lety goes to Carolina’s room. L-I’m sorry to bother you so late, but I want to go back to the City. Caro is impactada. L-This isn’t working, I’m not the person for this kind of work. Caro says she’ll decide that. We just got here! She admits that she brought her to get her away from all the Conceptos crap. Lety knows and appreciates this but she feels so out of place. The events need someone like you who can take charge and dominate everything. C-Who told you that you couldn’t adapt to this other kind of work. L- I told myself. I can’t be with these people and in this place obviously. C- That’s because you don’t want to, but nobody has rejected you here Lety, on the contrary. L- I WANT TO GO. Caro says ok. I guess you were right when you told me that I didn’t know that you were betraying me. Go pack your things and I’ll take you to the airport, she yells!

Luigi has stayed all night, and at breakfast tells Irma he can’t believe that Rafael returned after all these years. What a story. Irma says of all the conversations that they had since he came back he never told me he was so bad off, as to be dying and I treated him so badly. L-Well maybe he didn’t come looking for compassion, just for your pardon, or your love. She wonders what to do about him. Luigi tells her she essentially has some choices. Let him leave and be alone which would be cruel, or call the police and tell them a stranger has moved in, which would be about as cruel or….Irma interjects or I could have mercy on him and let him stay and die with dignity even though he caused us all to suffer so much. Luigi says that she knows what she’s doing. He then gets up and realizes that they need to get going. She feels bad that she wasted his time. He essentially tells her that he wouldn’t have left her alone all night here. He helps her clear the dishes and tells her she needs to stay healthy to resolve all of this. I will be very attentive to you. You just scream for me, no matter what you need.

Back in Acapulco Lety is writing FERNANDO in the sand and she finds a ring. She thinks she’ll marry the ocean then. I wanted to go home but instead I’m writing your name so I can forget you. She speaks the vows, and declares the husband the sea and herself the wife. She realizes that she better feel the sea since she just married it. So she starts walking towards it debating how far she should go in. She said she couldn’t go home without saying goodbye to ocean, after all they are married. Then she gets her shoes wet so she decides to just keep going in, saying how wonderful it is the whole way. She says she really like it, she’s about waist deep now. Very naïvely all of a sudden she says uh oh, here comes a wave, here comes a wave, then boom, she ducks under the water. Back in the City, Don Fer wakes up and screams LETY! He wonders where she is.

We then flash to the cuartel and Saimon at work, Marta is back and she’s breathing heavy. She wants to know what happened. PM recaps. So they speculate as to why Lety isn’t working here any more. Juanita, again as astute as ever, wonders what Lety has to do with the cancellation of the wedding. Lola assumes it’s because of an infidelity of Fer. Simon was at his computer class for one day and he couldn’t believe that all this happened while he was gone. He can’t believe that Don Fer isn’t president anymore.

Back in the ocean Lety is flailing about in the white wash, and a man with a white strapped mask swims in to save her. He pulls her out of the waves, but the mask is now missing. Hmm…..my reception isn’t that great, but I didn’t see him take it off…..nor is it in his hand, can anyone else confirm? Well, we finally see the masked man’s face at least, though I had no problem what so ever looking at his back side, even if he was in cut offs…:)

Back at Irma’s house she asks Rafael if he’s seen a doctor and he said yes, the one that wrote the prescription for high blood pressure. Irma tells him to take a bath and she’ll make breakfast and go with him to see a doctor. He tells her not to trouble herself over him. I’m sure this might anger some people, but I think I’d end up doing the same thing after all that time too, I'm just not that mean.

Back at Conceptos the conversation continues, Simon wonders who will be president now, and they tell him Humberto, they continue gossiping about this including that if they kicked him out of the presidency he must have screwed something up with the business just as Don Fer walks up behind them, so they pretend they are talking about a telenovela instead of his life. He doesn’t look like he buys it, but he humors them to ask if any of the ladies have seen Lety. They all answer including Saimon. Don Fer remarks that he said ladies, not men, but ok, he guesses Saimon is part of the cuartel too. Saimon says yes, and no he hasn’t seen her. Sara tells him that they called her house but were told she went out of the City, and Robopop wouldn’t tell them where, and scolded them not to keep calling. Fer says that if she calls anyone of them that they should pass her call along to him and they should let him know if they find out where she is. They agree.

Just then Abitchita shows up and says good morning. Don Fer says better to say good night considering how late you’ve arrived. She wants to speak with him in private. He wants to know what she wants. She tells him since he’s not the president any more, nor is he her boss, he can’t yell at her anymore. Now Don Humberto is the new president so she answers to him. Don Fer takes the opportunity to remind her that Humb isn’t a new president since he was president before; he’s only reclaimed the presidency. And too, unfortunately for her, Fer is still a shareholder and in the organizational chart, the shareholder is above a secretary. Above, below, above, below. So you see, I can yell at you anytime I please. She tells him he’s a shareholder of what, nothing since he encumbered the entire business. She’s not that ignorant, she had six semesters…….yeah, yeah, yeah. This pisses him off and he tells her that she is vile, gossipy, and capable of doing whatever it takes to get her things, even if she doesn’t end up getting them. She silently storms off. He says she’s gone now, and even though I’m no longer president, don’t you think you all should get to work?

Rafael is surprised that Irma will help him, she says she’s not doing anything she wouldn’t do for anyone else in the same position. He said even for the father of your children. She says we’ll talk about that another time. He said if you really want to help me can I stay here for a little while? Just a little while? She says she’s leaving for work now, but she is leaving the key with the neighbor and she can advise me if you aren’t feeling well.

Back at Conceptos Saimon and Fer have a heart to heart. Saimon tells Fer he’s sorry about the committee’s decision, and that as far as he’s concerned Fer is still president and he won’t recognize him any other way. Even though he’s never said it before he tells Fer he is his idol and he cares for him a lot. Fer too, but he is worried about how he will treat the new president. Saimon says don’t worry a man’s loyalty isn’t divided, rather it multiplies so his heart is big enough to have room for two strong great presidents. Fer - I don’t even have a badge, so I probably won’t even need to ask you for anything, but surely now my father will ask you to deliver things. Saimon said, well he’ll still carry Fer in his heart. Fer thanks him and PM is touched by this display. I’m sure he scored points with both.

We go back to el Mar where the mask appears again at the neck of the savior as he carries Lety out of the ocean. He lays her on the sand and begins CPR. She doesn’t react….

Fer is now in his office telling himself how awful he feels inside that this isn’t his office nor is Lety here.

Back to el Mar. She’s not reacting, …oh, wait, she does, she spits water in her savior’s face, how gracious. The savior thanks the sea for returning her with life. He asks her if she is ok, and tells her to breathe, he gives her a hug and tells her to thank the sea. She finally speaks and asks after her glasses. He thinks no, they are probably the toll she’s going to pay the ocean for giving her back safe and sound. She says she needs them or she can’t see anything. He said not me? She says no. He said try mine, he holds up the mask to her face, she says that’s not funny and she still can’t see. He says ok, nevermind then, come on let’s go sit down on the boat, and keep breathing. He tells her to calm down and that she’s walking kind of funny. She says she’s still dizzy. He starts to take off her shoes and she gets freaked out. He tells her to calm down and take off her stockings and he turns around so as not to look, but he tells her to hurry up. She gives them to him. He said he could try to look for her glasses but it’s very difficult and he can’t guarantee anything. She begs him please to look for them. He tells her he thinks it’s incredible that she’s so worried about her glasses when she should be thankful for having her life. You are alive! She says yeah my heart is beating, huh. He says and really strongly too. It’s very beautiful. I was listening, like little watch ticks. He tells her to look at it this way. You have been given another chance to continue enjoying life and to be happy, to keep fighting, suffering… Take advantage of that and be happy. I don’t understand what suffering has to do with being happy.

Life and suffering walk hand in hand. Sometimes to suffer is to learn a lesson. That way you can value life much more. She’s says you’ll really end up swimming around to look for my glasses? He says no. She implores him that they are a part of her life, that without them she can’t see a thing. He tells her there are other ways to see, not just with your eyes, but also with your body. She tells him she has to do something very important and she’ll be right back. While she is gone, he wonders what she wrote in the dirt and he sees that it’s FERNANDO.

She thinks she sees Caro up at the cabana and in fact Caro is there on the phone asking a coworker to find her another assistant. Lety walks up to her and tells her she was going to drown but a man saved her and right now he’s looking for her glasses and she’s glad to be alive and she asks to leave her sweater to dry and she decided to now stay and continue working for Caro. Caro tells her this isn’t a game. Lety says she knows and the guy that pulled me out of the ocean made me think, he made me think about myself, that I should value my life… Caro asks her if he gave her permission to live? She says she doesn’t know, doesn’t know, doesn’t know, but I also want to say that the hardworking and responsible Lety that you brought to Acapulco, well, you need me, and I’m going to do as I promised. Caro asks her how sarcastically, if these aren’t her people or her kind of place. Lety says Conceptos wasn’t either but she tolerated them for a pretty long while.

At Conceptos Luigi in a Target commercial copy cat shirt (Big multicolorful pseudo bull’s-eyes) waltzes in to ask if anyone has heard anything from Irmita. Fernando sees him and says he’s heard about Ricky’s commercial request and asks if he’s started on the lemon soda campaign yet. Luigi blows him off and says he’s worried because he called Irma and she didn’t answer and he wonders if anyone heard him ask about Irma. Fer tells him he’s talking to him, and wants to know about the project. Luigi says oh did this young man just say something to me? Fer says yes this young man wants to know about the lemon soda project. Luigi replies that this information is confidential and he can only discuss it with the president.

Back in Aca. Lety says she can’t fail her nor abandon her. You trusted me. Caro tells her that her problem is not that she feels out of place. You always felt out of place. There’s really no difference between here and Conceptos. There were beautiful people, parties, etc. there too. Lety agrees, so then?

Caro tells her that her pain is the problem, that she hasn’t gotten over Fernando. Lety says, yes it’s like my shadow. C- take the morning off and reflect upon what all happened. Besides you almost drowned. Lety says but I didn’t, and you need me. The event is in the evening so don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of the girls until then. She tells her she’s an angel, and notes her last name. She goes to see if he’s found her glasses. Caro tells her to be careful of the waves. Lety says yes, I won’t go in now, she says she was rolling and rolling and she thinks maybe it was the shoes. Caro wonders who this man that saved her might be. She thinks it’s a signal that something positive will come out of all this.

Lety sees that the ocean took “FERNANDO” and she seems happy about this. Lety goes to look for her “Senor” she thinks he didn’t find the glasses and left already. He walks up behind her. He begs her to come see what he found. She tells herself, man, this guy is very agile and fast, always running and swimming around in the ocean and everything. He seems like a boy even at this age. The savior tells her look what I found L - oh what a wonderful lobster, congratulations. [Are there lobsters in Acapulco?] He says no, your precious glasses. I thought they were lost forever. He puts them on to see things from her point of view and asks her how he looks. She thinks he looks like a professor. She puts them on but they are so dirty she still can’t see well, but she does see that he has a beautiful smile. [Boy does he ever, I am so excited to be finally seeing him in this telenovela, he’s my favorite!!] She thanks him so much for finding them. He tells her not to thank him, instead thank life. Be thankful for life, for the one who put me here. She thanks everything. He says he would rather relieve her heart. I heard you talking about your sadness and your great pain yesterday and I want to help.

Fernando yells back at Luigi, oh what character; try not to disrespect me in front of these ladies, will you please. Is this like a sport to you acting like you are above me?
Luigi says I won’t deny I would love to be above you, but Marcia is my very good friend and I won’t go against respecting her. Fer says listen, he’s still coming to the office every day and he’ll be here for another 6 mos still supervising negotiations etc. So you’ll have to report to me whether you like it or not. Luigi says so you are going to continue insisting on this kind of work, you want me to continuing telling the hornita orrinca what’s going on? F- Lety won’t be coming back here. He tells him to stop speaking badly of Lety. Luigi trys to make a joke to the cuartel to call security because some crazy guy has come in and seems to have made themselves president. No one is playing his game and no one laughs.

Back at the beach, L-I can’t even be mad at you, for everything I listened to, you did something huge for me. He said so don’t be mad then. Ok? He said there are some places, some villages that believe when a person saves the life of another they become brothers. Their spirits become brothers. Spiritual brothers. L- how? He says well they unite as if they became one. He holds up his pendant. She thinks they are odd beliefs. She asks him to help take off the ring she found; she puts it on the other hand. She insists those beliefs are odd and have nothing to do with them here on the beach. He tells her it’s been a great pleasure to meet you. You are really a beautiful person. He walks away and she calls after him, Mister. He says, I’m Aldo. L-Good to meet you Don Aldo. A- No, just Aldo. [Thank goodness he insisted on this. It always bothered me how Lety kept calling Fer “Don” even in private after they slept together for pete’s sakes. You’d think he’d have insisted otherwise, too. To me that was a sure sign of an unequal relationship.] I’m Leticia Padilla Solis, everyone calls me Lety. A- Nice to meet you LETICIA. She says what a beautiful smile you have. Ohhhh, welcome to this telenovela finally, Aldo!!!!!

Hey, just a small personal side note, if anyone has seen or sees the Pursuit of Happyness, I’m in the movie. It was great fun and it turned out well, in fact, Will's likely up for an Oscar! I definitely recommend it-hope you enjoy!

Feliz Navidad a Todos!!!!!!

Sebastian speaks on the phone with head chef Casimiro about the evening's menu for his special date with Yolanda. After Casimiro hangs up, Alejandra whines about being able to leave early, because of her ill son. Casimiro gives her some advice.

Alejandra's son is at home alone; he has an epileptic seizure.

Nati brings a tray of food to Matilde's room - Matilde isn't very hungry - Nati tells her the food on the tray - Matilde's interest peaks with the mention of pastries. Matilde asks where her guests are - Nati tells her that Yolanda had sent them away.

That night, Angelita and Rodo are sitting on a bench in the square, talking. Nearby, Sebastian and Yolanda meet to walk through square to the restaurant for dinner.

Alejandra is done with her work, so she leaves for the night just as Sebastian and Yolanda arrive. Yolanda isn't at all impressed with the choice of restaurants.

Rodo and Angelita see Pancho walking through the square with two men - Rodo fakes a choking attack - Angelita acts scared and runs over to Pancho, Alberto and Mauricio to ask them for help. Alberto and Mauricio are more interested in finding a restaurant for dinner than in helping, so they leave. Pancho stays to help Rodo and talk with Angelita - he offers to take them to dinner at the restaurant.

Alejandra arrives home to her son, who is in bed. He gazes at the photos on her dressing table mirror as she rushes around getting changed for her night job. He asks why she has to leave - she explains it is for money to pay for his medicine. He tells her about his day and his car washing. They talk briefly. She tells him to stay in the apartment and stay safe as she leaves for work.

As Casimiro waits on Sebastian and Yolanda, Pancho and Angelita help Rodo sit down at a table near the door. Casimiro walks over to the table - Pancho orders tacos for them. Casimiro goes to fill the order. Pancho excuses himself from the table when he sees Alberto and Mauricio sitting at another table in the restaurant. Pancho goes to talk with them about the search.

The son has another seizure - Alejandra returns to give him his medicine and pray.

Pancho is disgusted as he watches Alberto and Mauricio eat. Pancho wants to quit at once, but Alberto reminds him about the contract and the truck. Pancho doesn't like it but agrees to stay on. He also is disgusted by Mauricio's rude attitude.

Yolanda is disgusted by the sight of Angelita and Rodo in the restaurant, and tells Sebastian who the "nacos" are. She is insulting and doesn't want them there. He says they aren't causing anyone any harm. She wants him to use his position and power to force them to leave. He refuses. Yolanda uses sweet talk to convince Sebastian otherwise.

Alejandra's son is better. He realizes that his mom returned just give him his medicine. He is disappointed that she can't stay. She puts him back in bed, and stays to comfort him.

Sebastian approaches the table and asks Pancho, Angelita and Rodo for IDs. Pancho defends his friends Angelita and Rodo. Alberto and Mauricio come over to the table - Alberto asks if his associate Pancho is causing any problems. Mauricio grabs Pancho by the arms and pulls him out of the restaurant. Alberto mentions a business opportunity he wants to discuss with Sebastian. Yolanda smiles at the activity. Angelita thanks Casimiro for his hospitality and kindness, as she and Rodo start to leave, she asks Casimiro to watch their box for them. She and Rodo leave with Sebastian. Soon afterwards, Yolanda leaves.

Alejandra and her son are fast asleep.

Sebastian escorts Angelita and Rodo to the jail cell. Rodo goes in and complains of the cold, his aches and pains. Angelita quietly tries to convince Sebastian to help them. He closes the door and leaves them both in the cell.

Yolanda visits Matilde in her room. Matilde is worried about her guests. Yolanda consoles her and tells her they will survive, there is nothing to worry about. Matilde is still concerned. Yolanda promises to look into it, then she brings up Matilde's dead son Alfonso again before leaving the room.

In the hotel room, Alberto, Mauricio and Pancho discuss what happened at the restaurant. Pancho is hungry, he didn't have any dinner, and wants to leave. Mauricio stands in front of the door, impeding from leaving. Pancho questions why block the door? Is he being held hostage against his will? Mauricio moves out of the way and Pancho leaves. Mauricio doesn't understand why they need Pancho's help - Alberto explains to him that Pancho knows the identities of Angelita and Rodito.

Sebastian returns to the restaurant and talks with Casimiro. Padre Miguel soon enters and joins Sebastian and Casimiro at the bar and then a table. Casimiro gets Padre some coffee, as Padro starts to tell Sebastian and Casimiro how rough his day has been. Sebastian can empathize, he has had an equally hard day. Before Sebastian leaves, he asks about Alejandra the waitress - Casimiro responds. Sebastian leaves and Padre and Casimiro talk and start playing a game of chess.

Pancho walks by a corner nightclub. The owner host is trying desperately to convince Pancho to go inside - Pancho adamantly refuses, he just wants to go to a restaurant for something to eat. Pancho leaves - one of the night club dancers comes out to tell the owner that Alejandra still hasn't shown up.

Alejandra wakes up and she goes to look in the mirror to fix her hair and make-up. She notices the hand-drawn angel in yellow on her dress. She is curious how it got there - she looks at her son still sleeping and picks up her things and sneaks out without waking her son. Her son wakes up and looks around the room for his mother.

Mauricio is working at his laptop computer and the clicking is keeping Pancho awake. Mauricio explains it is investment work for Don Alberto - Pancho is still annoyed. Mauricio reminds Pancho that Alberto is his boss now too. Pancho would rather work for money honestly and have that money in his hand than on a computer. Mauricio defends Alberto's investments. They discuss Pancho making more drawings to help in their search.

Sebastian meets with Angelita and Rodo in his office. Before they leave, Rodo mentions he wants his teddy bear Gabriel, and Angelita tells him the bear is safe and in good hands. Sebastian offers assitance to them in anyway. Angelita says thank you and she and Rodo leave.

Alejandra's son asks Casimiro what is in the box? Casimiro doesn't know - just that a lady left it there last night for safe-keeping. Alejandra and her son open the box and find Gabriel the teddy bear inside - Casimiro and Alejandra are curious to the reason it is in the box. The son keeps the bear and hugs it. Casimiro remarks about the angel Alejandra has on her apron. Alejandra says it just appeared recently.

Padre Miguel is in his office, looking at his chess board and talking to his statue of Jesus on the cross. He walks over and kneels down to pray out loud for guidance and advice. Soon after, Angelita and Rodo walk into the office and tell Padre Miguel that they want to help him. Padre finishes the statement with "help with the kids." Angelita quickly agrees to the statement addition. Padre notes how quiet Rodo is - Rodo says he isn't quiet, he is a man of few words. Padre escorts them out to go visit someone special.

Alberto and Mauricio talk with Sebastian in his office. They discuss the profitable business deal Alberto proposes. Yolanda walks in and interrupts. She insults Sebastian by telling Alberto and Mauricio that they should be talking with her aunt Matilde. Sebastian is insulted by Yolanda's rudeness. Mauricio and Alberto agree to meet Yolanda's aunt Matilde at their home for dinner.

Pancho sits at the restaurant making his drawings of little Angelita, Rodito and Gabriel the bear. Alejandra's son comes over, still hugging Gabriel, and asks Pancho what he is doing. Pancho explains the drawings without flinching or looking at the boy. The boy asks if the bear is like the one he has. Pancho looks up and recognizes the bear. Pancho is so excited that he thinks the boy is Rodito in a different body. Alejandra runs over to see what is the matter - Pancho on his knees with the boy, looks up and thinks Alejandra is Angelita. They just stare at Pancho.

Heridas de Amor - Wed Dec. 20

Amparo and Francisco talk over Ferns problems. They wonder how she can stand it all. She is strong they decide. Carola comes in with Raul with what is supposed to be a bloody mouth, but instead looks like he has lipstick smeared all over his face. He tells his parents that he has some news they aren't going to like. Sanson is back and he wants Juan to pay his debt by taking his wife Renata.

Cesar and Bertha arrive home from the funeral. Cesar is sporting a pair of sunglasses that make his eyes look like those of a snake, or say... Eurotrash. He keeps them on even though they are inside. Bertha tells him that she is worried about what Nuria will say. She also worries that the nuns will involve her in their problems. Guapo calls Bertha on her cell phone and tells her that the nuns did not report her to the police. Bertha tells Guapo to find Nuria and make it so she can’t and won’t be able to talk. He is told not to fail. After she hangs up with Guapo, Bertha tells Cesar that she needs to get the kid (Enrique) back. She wants him to help her think of how to get the kid back. Sanson enters the apartment and Bertha calls him another pet name, Espartaco (Spartacus). Sanson gets visibly upset and tells her to not make him feel obliged to hurt her by her inability to say his real name. She dares him to try; he won’t live to do it. Sanson gives up on the Bertha issue and turns to Cesar to let him know that he has been to Luis Alberto's place. LA is not there, and there are only some clothes and boxes left. Cesar tries to reach LA by phone, but LA doesn’t answer. Hmmm. What could this mean?

Lilliana reads a letter to herself in her house. She reads that the gun was acquired in Stuttgart and used to kill two prominent cardiologists, one in Stuttgart and one in Düsseldorf. She calls Al telling him she needs to talk with him urgently. He has just arrived at Miranda's so he suggests meeting for coffee, which I'm sure Miranda would appreciate. Lilliana doesn't like that idea. Al asks if she is calling about Sophia's phone call. Lilly doesn't know what he is talking about. Al fills her in about Sophia's phone call. Lilly doesn't like hearing what he has to say and quickly hangs up, upset, rubbing her temples (not quite like Bertha) and crying.

Fernanda and Miranda talk over Fab's condition in the empty kitchen. Miranda sits on the counter next to the stove as a tea pot steams directly in front of the screen. Is it a message that someone is about the go off like a tea pot? The women are worried about Fab and how he is handling things. Miranda declares she won’t leave Fab alone. Alejandro walks in. He wants to know what they are doing in the empty house. Miranda tells him the house is what they are used to and it’s all they have left. Fernanda exits when she hears Miranda say she wants to talk to Al about their divorce. Al asks for her forgiveness and she talks on about how she believes a divorce is for the best. AL gets a little irate and yells at her Who is the divorce best for? You? ME? Fab? He forces her to kiss him. She seems to melt into his arms but they part. She looks at him saying that was their goodbye kiss. Miranda splits and Al is left leaning on the counter looking like he will die. Charo comes in telling Al she has something important to give him.

Next scene after the commercial break we see Al talking on the phone to Lilliana in his office. Vicente and Luciano are there also. Al tells Lilly that Charo was upset and that they need to get her out of the house. Al tells Luciano and Vicente about Charo and how he doesn’t want anything to happen to Charo like what has happened to Nuria. He tells them how Charo is scared and nervous but he asks for Charo to come into the room to share her story, never mind that she is scared. Charo tells them she was scared that Bertha and Cesar threatened her and hurt her. She has a green memory to Cesar holding her by the neck after Gonzalo was killed. Vicente wants Charo to report this to the judge so Al will be declared innocent. Instead Charo snaps and yells at the men telling them she won’t say anything!

Father Santiago and Miranda walk the grounds outside his cathedral. They discuss how the nuns were able to get away with their sordid little school/convent for so many years. Santiago believes Cesar and Bertha are behind it. He tells Miranda how he can’t believe Charo kept quiet for so long. He asks Miranda about Alejandro. Miranda doesn't want to talk about Al. Perhaps her silence has something to do with the car alarm that is going off in the background ruining this whole scene.

Lilly rushes to Sophia's school. She sees Sophia on the concrete school yard and runs to talk with her. Sophia runs around the gate to jump into Lilly’s arms while Sophia's friends watch through a large iron gate. Sophia's friends start to taunt her by saying she is a liar because Sophia doesn't have a father. Just as the girls say this Alejandro walks up saying he is sorry he is so late. All the eyes turn to him. Sophia tells the girls here is my Papa! AL and Lilly look at each other.

Santiago gives Miranda a letter to read when she is at home and not distracted. Pam arrives and hugs Miranda, apologizing for being away. Santiago wants to know when Pam is going to get married in the church. Her civil wedding is two days away. Pam says that Luciano wants to marry in Italy with his family for the church wedding. Santiago is happy just as long as she gets married in the church and not with just a civil wedding.

One of Sophia's friends runs out to ask if this is Sophia’s father. Sophia, in Al's arms, pipes up that Now no one can make fun of her anymore. Sophia runs off to play and Al comforts Lilly by saying that these are just the hopes of a little girl, these feelings will pass. Al tells Lilly that Charo won’t report anything because she is scared. Lilly thinks Charo might be in danger either at Miranda's or his house. She wants Charo moved somewhere safe, to her house, to protect Charo.

Raul whines to Francisco why can't he talk with Erika? As he is talking Renata arrives, wearing THE HAT. She tells them that Erika has left to Canada with her sister and that Erika won’t return. What is up with Canada and these telenovelas? Erika is pregnant. Everyone looks at Raul as if he knocked her up. Renata calms them down saying it was an old boyfriend of Erika's who did the deed. Erika had always liked this guy even though her parents had forbidden her to go out with him. They reconnected and Voila she got pregnant. Amparo rubs Rauls back as he sobs. Amparo tells him that a woman who cheats on her partner is trash and not worth anything. Right Renata? She turns to glare at Renata.

Rebecca visits Cesar and Bertha at his apartment. She gossips to them about this and that until Cesar asks why is she there. She tells them that there are rumors from people about Bertha living at Cesar’s place. The people are saying that Bertha is Cesar's lover and that cant be possible true, right? They all laugh with Rebecca laughing nervously. Rebecca stumbles on saying that Bertha can’t please a man at her age much less a man of her Cesar’s age. Bertha tells her that she understands why Julio always had a look of dissatisfaction on his face. Rebecca stands up telling Bertha not to be gross, she is trying to protect Berthas reputation. Cesar is a man but all the people are talking about Bertha, not him. Bertha kicks Cesar out to keep the talk going with Rebecca, woman to woman. Cesar leaves and the women stare each other down. Bertha starts the new discussion by saying the only old woman who can’t satisfy a man is Rebecca. She is not Cesar’s lover right now but he lost his virginity to her. Everything that Cesar knows about the art of love he learned from her, she has been his teacher. His Maestra.

Commercial break that ends with the screen flashing images of Bertha and Cesar with the words hate and vengeance scrolling down. Vicente tells Luciano that he is ready to go to London. He is sure that the same documents that Gonzalo had will help him get the information they need. Lilliana walks in and the men ask her if it is true that she wont be returning to work there anymore. She tells them that is right. Do either of them know of Bertha taking a trip to Europe 8 months ago? Luciano faintly remembers Bertha leaving and asks why Lilly wants the information. She tells them about the two prominent doctors who were killed with the gun.

Nuria and Luis Alberto talk while they both lie on a bed fully clothed. Nuria is crying asking where will we go?! LA promises Nuria that they will be safe in Brazil. Nuria cries asking why she can’t tell anyone goodbye? LA tells her she can’t because he wants them to be safe and start a new life where no one can find them. Nuria worries about how they will survive without money. LA tells her that Cesar doesn't have any money but he does, Yo si! He smiles at this thought.

Al and Miranda fight over Charo living at Lillianas house. Miranda puts a gold necklace on the baby. Al asks Miranda where did it come from?! Miranda thinks Nuria must have given it to the baby, the baby was wearing it when he was returned. AL tells Miranda that it was Lisania's necklace. Look there is an inscription on the back with Lisania's name and birth date! Where is Nuria?! I need to know where this necklace came from! Fab comes into the room from buying diapers. He walks up to Miranda who is holding the baby. He kisses the baby and the three of them look like a happy family. Al, however, is left standing by himself. You can almost see the anger steaming out of his ears.

Bertha and Rebecca continue their conversation. Rebecca tells her that she has heard enough. She thought they were friends. Bertha tells her to sit back down, and be quiet, she isn't finished yet. Rebecca tells Bertha that she is bad and cruel, you are really an ugly person, without scruples and shame (Verguenza). Bertha snickers. "Shame. How dare you talk to me about a word whose significance you don’t know. You are more cynical than me. You talk of shame when you let Gonzalo support you and your kids for years. You talk of shame when Fab dropped Miranda and you were incapable of going to help her, for not even one day. After everything her father gave you! You talk to me of shame when you haven’t presented yourself to your son who has just become a widow. In place of seeing him you come to talk about what the people murmur. . . because I live with Cesar. You are cynical or an idiot or both. How dare you try and reproach me!" Rebecca sits through this tongue lashing making little uncomfortable faces taking it in. She finally stands up and tells Bertha how easily she hurts people, and agrees that Bertha is right in everything she said. "But get this, without wanting to Darling Bertha, you have opened my eyes. Listen to me well, at least I was loved by a lot of people, my children, Julio, and Gonzalo. In exchange you have never awoken the love of anyone except for your dog. And that is because he can’t speak and tell you who you are. Like I told you, my son is a man and he can do what he wants, but you, you are trash. I swear to the whole heavens that is how you will be treated." Bertha starts to rub her temples in the way she does when she is sweating something out. Bertha doesn’t like what she is hearing. She weakly tells Rebecca to leave and that she is going to regret it. Rebecca turns to face Bertha and tells her that she "can have a 100 men in her bed but at the end of the day, at the very bottom of her heart, she is recognized as simple and vulgar. Bertha is just a Messalina (Messalina is a reference to a loose Roman woman) with pretensions to be a lady." Rebecca flips her mophead and flounces out of the apartment with Bertha looking like she could melt away.

Amparo chews out the crying Renata. Renata, who has lost the hat, claims she is leaving Juan because they think differently. Amparo points out that Renata is just a pass of time for Cesar. Renata insists that Cesar will give her whatever she wants, the life she is used to. Amparo argues how a person can’t take material things to their grave. Blah Blah Blah. The boring conversation ends with Renata telling Amparo that Juan doesn't deserve her because she was with another man. Juan can never forgive her. Cry Cry Cry. Amparo is shocked and Renata leaves with her tail between her legs.

Miranda enters Gonzalos old office. She caresses his large green leather desk chair. She cries as she talks to herself about missing him. She wants him to give her strength to continue. Blah Blah Blah. Vicente calls by phone and Miranda tells him she is looking for the papers she needs for a bank loan. (Didn't one of the previous shows tell us that no bank will give a San Llorente or AL a loan? So why is she applying for one now? How is this possible?!) Lilliana enters like she is looking for someone, certainly not Miranda. The women stare at each other and make excuses on why they are both there. Finally Miranda tells Lilly to sit, she wants to talk about her husband, about Lilly and about Sophia. Why, Miranda asks her, are you using your daughter to blackmail Alejandro?!
I forgot to say Merry Christmas Everyone! Please have a great holiday no matter what religion you do or don't practice. Best! Lynn

Heridas Tuesday12/19 - In which Flor's no more, Carola's full of crapola and Juan's still a yawn

Florencia's coffin stands highlighted in a stark landscape. It is attended by a weeping Miranda holding bebe Enrique. Padre Santiago tries to comfort her while Fabricio sobs and Alejandro watches.

Miranda says that Florencia didn't get to see her baby before she died, that's what gives her the most pain. She runs through the list of those she loved who have passed away...Tomasa (fell down stairs thanks to Bertha), Papa Gonzalo (shot dead by Bertha), and now Florencia (blame Bertha). Luckily she didn't know Lasagna better (shared blame between Bertha and Cesar), Tomasa's sons (also Bertha) and Florencia's European doctors (yep, Bertha) or she would really be crying.

Tally so far Victims = 0, Bertha = 8, unless I have forgotten somebody. Do we add Alfredo Luque to the tally? Even though she shot him in the back she didn't kill him...immediately that is. Anyway, back to the recap...

Al (who, by the way, looks smashing in black though perhaps a bit like Blonde, James Blonde) tries to console Miranda, "The important thing is that we're together my love." Ha! She's not biting, "Don't call me My Love." She doesn't want to deal with the "us" issue, it's all she can do to think about her loss and take care of Enrique and Fabricio who is destroyed, just look at him. Camera pan to Fab, weeping and destroyed.

Fab embraces Miranda holding Enrique. Al scowls. He thought bubbles "Dear God take away these stupid thoughts I'm having about them." Serves you right, blondie.

Santiago begins the service. Flor's friends and family are graveside and Fernanda's arms are around her two remaining daughters. The camera pans up to Cesar and Bertha who observe unseen from the hillside. As Santiago speaks of salvation Cesar comments that his soul can still be saved "but what about you Bertha, how many deaths have you caused?" See current tally above.

Fab refuses to let go of the coffin although he's happy enough to let Miranda take Enrique off his hands.

At Carola's apartment she, Raul and Veronica are talking about Renata and Juan. Veronica says Renata was hiding out at her house after she left Valle Bravo. Now she (Renata) is upset and guilty to have missed Flor's rosary. Carola seems to think that since Renata spent the weekend with Juan then abandoned him that their divorce is imminent. Veronica and Raul are doubtful and tell her so. Veronica says she's not trying to hurt Carola, she's just trying to be honest and up front. (NOTE: whenever someone says that, they are about to deliberately hurt you.)

Liliana tells Sofia that she will see her at school but Sofia wants Al to pick her up. She told her friends that her papa is coming for her today. Lil says Sofia shouldn't be such a liar. Sofia says if she had a daddy then she wouldn't have to lie, so there. Lil tries to call Al but no answer. "I'll bet he's with HER and she asked him to turn his phone off." Sounds like Lil is starting to get a little possessive.

Al and Luciano try to console Fabricio but he is inconsolable. Al calls him brother and tells him to be strong for his son and Flor's memory.

Miranda, still at the funeral, scolds Renata for going AWOL at the very time Flor was sickest, what was she thinking? Renata cries hysterically and says she'll never forgive herself for not saying goodbye to Flor. She was at Veronica's house because she needed to talk to somebody. (Veronica????) Miranda says they were all worried when Juan reported that she left Valle Bravo and she wouldn't answer her phone. Fernanda imagined the worst. Renata begs her sister's forgiveness. Miranda says they will talk later.

The camera pauses on every face at Florencia's funeral. They are all sad or weeping, even Cesar, all that is except Bertha who wears gigantic sunglasses and no expression at all.

Carola tells Raul and Veronica that Juan was imprudent to take Renata away for the weekend when Flor was at her sickest. Veronica says Renata was at fault for hiding out at her house and turning off her phone, but what Renata REALLY feels guilty about is that she slept with Cesar in New York. (Whoaaaa! Way to spill the beans...FRIEND.)

Carola, who takes every opportunity to remind the world that she used to (very recently) be a whore, is thrilled to be able to compare herself to Renata, "I had sex out of necessity, Renata did it for designer clothes and a life of luxury. We're the same but the only difference is geography. I sold myself in dives and she sold herself in 5th Avenue boutiques." Carola, shut up now before that stupid stick beats you to death.

Raul doesn't look convinced but Carola feels triumphant after her asinine tirade.

Sofia the cute but bratty kid refuses to go to school until Lil promises to call Al. Remind me, who is the mother and who is the kid?

One by one Flor's friends and family throw a white rose into her grave.

Cesar asks Bertha what she intends to do about Nuria. Bertha doesn't know but whatever it is needs to be done quickly, if Nuria denounces them they are lost. Cesar gets a munched up piggy face, "What do you mean US?" "Yep, you're in the middle of this too," says Bertha. Cesar says their current mess is stupid old Santiago's fault. He rescued Nuria and brought the police and scandal down upon the school resulting in disgrace for all. And those crazy ladies weren't even real nuns! Bertha claims she just found out too (lie); too bad because they were great allies.

Cesar says it's time to throw their flowers and have a thought of Florencia. Bertha vividly recalls her last conversation with Florencia. Take Flor's deathbed green pallor, add the green hue from the flashback, and poor Flor looks quite Grinchy. Bertha tells Cesar her last conversation with Flor was terrible, "It's what killed Florencia, now let's get the hell out of this circus."

At the end of the commercial break they show a montage of Bertha and Cesar's huge heads transposed over Lasagna's body and Al crying over her coffin while the words HATE and VENGEANCE flash on the screen.

Surprise! Carola says she's going to blab to Juan about Renata doing the horizontal bop with Cesar. Raul's not happy, he says in the best case Juan will kill Cesar. Carola says, "And in the worst case he'll kill them both." Veronica says "Great, he'll go to jail for your stupid imprudence." Hmmmm, whose stupid imprudence?

Veronica tells Carola that Renata said when they were at Valle Bravo she spent a marvelous night of love in Juan's arms. Carola says she believes it because SHE TOO felt the same thing with Juan, so ha! Veronica and Raul are impactados at this news.

Vicente calls Lil to tell her of Flor's death. She asks him to tell Al that Chaquiras and Rafias will be set free tomorrow. Also, she has discovered the origin of the gun used to kill Gonzo.

Lil calls her friend Marisol because she has "a ball of knots in her head that she can't untangle." She says Sofia has been hell all weekend with this Al-is-my-daddy biz. Her friend Marisol tells her to make a play for Al. A man is never so vulnerable as when he is grieving. It's now or never. (Are we in some alternate universe where girlfriends give each other THE WORST possible advice and tell them things that are guaranteed to screw up their lives, possibly forever?)

Veronica snickers about Juan not being a complete gentleman. Carola admits that she believes Juan was imagining Renata in her place when he was with her. Carola wants to change the subject and walks into the bedroom. Suddenly Sanson walks in and demands to know where Carola is. Raul says he doesn't know. Sanson doesn't believe him but neither does he search the apartment or even look behind the closest door, the one that Carola is peeping around.

Back in the empty San Llorente house Flor's family wonders where Nuria is. Everybody thought she was with somebody else but nobody knows where she is. Miranda is very worried and hopes Cesar and Bertha haven't done anything to her.

Renata says she saw Nuria after Cesar left in his truck. Al says maybe she escaped. Fabricio and Renata are glad she's gone because she kidnapped Enrique and contributed to Flor's death. The family seems to be taking sides for and against Nuria.

The telephone rings and Renata thinks it might be Nuria but no, it's somebody asking for Flor. "You're asking about what? Huh????" asks Renata. "I'm sorry, she passed away but the SON of Alfredo Luque is here. Would you like to speak to...hello? Hello?" They hang up. Alejandro wonders who it could have been.

Sanson is mean and nasty and punches Raul in the mouth. He demands to know where Carola is. Then he asks Raul if he tipped off the cops about the bank robbery way back when. No? Well if it wasn't Raul then it must have been Carola. Carola hides while Sanson threatens Raul. (slap, slap) "Tell your brother Juan that Sanson is back and that I like his old lady; (slap, slap) I'll settle the matter of my brother's death with her, got it?" (slap, slap) Veronica, trying to help Juan, sticks her face into their business. One look at her mug and Sanson is off like a shot. At least that's what it seemed like.

Al wonders why the Italian authorities want samples of Florencia's and Enrique's DNA. Maybe to prove they are Alfredo's daughter and grandson? Nah, nobody in Italy knew he had another daughter, nobody except...Bertha! She must be behind this! He needs to get a hold of Luciano so they can review and protect Alfredo's will.

Juan consoles Fabricio by letting him rant about his favorite subject, Fabricio. Juan is sympathetic and they bond with a man-hug as Fab weeps.

During the commercial Lety la Fea weeps for Fernando while he cries over his screen-saver of her. I'm sad for them and I don't even watch the show. Gosh, I hope those sweet kids work it out.

Renata is wracked with guilt and wants Fernanda to yell at her for not saying goodbye to Flor. Fern says there is never enough time to say goodbye to those we love. Renata, beginning to squeak hysterically, insists. Fern refuses, she waited too long to be united with her daughters, she lost Flor and she's not going to lose Renata or Miranda. Renata opens the floodgates and my boyfriend off in another room begs me to mute the TV, it seems Renata is giving him a headache. We continue with closed captioning only.

Renata says Fern may forgive her but she doesn't forgive herself. Flor told her that she hated looking pale and sickly, after she died she wanted Renata to make sure she was made up to be beautiful and wearing earrings that her papa Gonzo gave her. Renata failed her. Renata is really going to town on the crying which I know is supposed to be sad, but is kind of funny with the sound muted. Fern tries to calm her down.

Juan arrives and wants to take her for a stroll to the library, but is it still a library if all the books are gone? I digress.

Juan asks Renata why she left Valle Bravo. She asks about the divorce. Juan says forget it, she's a liar because she still loves him so no divorce. He says her lips say one thing but her body says another. Renata says she intends to continue their separation. Juan tells her to open her eyes, he's richer than she is now. (Mild gloating from Juan.) "You have always been richer than I," she responds. Ooh, smack down.

She asks him why he's humiliating himself like this. He says that true love is stronger than any old humiliation. Good parry Juan! But Renata goes for the thrust, she cries "No more, listen to me, no more!" Her words falter but she summons up resolve, "In New York, I...I...I made it with Cesar!"

Juan is impactado and her words echo in his head, "With Cesar...with Cesar...with Cesar!"

Tomorrow: Al can't control his jealousy over Miranda and Fabricio, heh heh.

Dear friends, fellow recappers and beloved readers: The scintillating Chris (Ferro) will recap for me next Tuesday while I have the week off warming my toes in tropical seas. Thank you Chris, for doing the Heridas double-down next week. I sincerely hope each and every one of you manages to squeeze as much enjoyment out of the holiday season as possible!!
