Caray, Caray!

Mostly translated from the Esmas site, which portentously reports: "Everyone will suffer." Some additions.

Note that three of these women have the exact same hairdo. This may make it hard to keep them straight. Also, sadly, at least two of the characters have accented letters in their names, which we recappers do not appreciate.

César Évora is Gabriel, an honest man who lives tormented by his twin brother's hatred and the sickening jealousies of his wife Joselyn. His children by his first wife are Rogelio and Paulina. Actually, Paulina was adopted but doesn't know it.

His son with Joselyn is Luisito, whose legs were damaged in the car accident (caused by Gabriel, who was driving) which caused Joselyn to miscarry.

Joselyn, played by Edith González, is beautiful and ambitious; her emotional blackmail and her unfounded jealousies are destroying her marriage. Karen is her daughter by her first husband. Her father is not her mother's husband Clemente, but Federico, husband of Otilia.


In his double role, César also plays Demián, a cruel and aggressive man who hates his brother.


Gaby Espino plays Mariángela, a beautiful, generous and good woman who is victim of jealousies and abuse, but is not afraid to defend herself when she's right. Her mother, who has Alzheimer's, is Aurora. She is the illegitimate daughter of Clemente (Clemente is husband of Miriam).



Helena Rojo is Miriam, a woman with a dark past: calculating, greedy, tyrannical and totally without scruples. She is Joselyn's mother and wife to Clemente. She hates her husband's illegitimate daughter Mariángela. She is the mother of Leonardo, she abandoned him outside a church when he was a baby and Candelaria took him in.


Leonardo, adopted son of Candelaria (his actual mother is Miriam), is an intelligent, hard-working fellow who helps anyone in need. Ernesto Laguardia plays this good-hearted young man whose wife Viviana died in his arms at the altar just as they married! Elsa is his sister and she is dating the murderer "El Chacal."

Candelaria is a kindly, sympathetic, humble woman who always has good advice or a word of comfort for young people.


Laura Flores is Regina, a submissive, moral, and faithful woman who nevertheless suffers disdain and violence because of her husband Demián's jealousies. Juan Cristobal is the son of Demian and Regina.


Michelle Vieth is a "fiera" (wild beast) as Karen, a capricious, pampered, jealous girl who hates her step-sister Paulina and doesn't want her to be happy.

Karen is Joselyn's daughter by a previous marriage to Edgar, brother of Dolores.


Sara Maldonado is Paulina, a romantic girl without malice who loves Juan Cristóbal, the son of her father's worst enemy. She suffers to defend her love.

She is Gabriel's daughter by his first, dead wife. Rogelio is Paulina's mean, bad brother who is married to Diana.


Juan Cristóbal is played by Sebastián Rulli, is madly and devotedly in love with Paulina. He will struggle against the emnity of the families in order to be happy with her. He is the story's hunk.


Dolores is the sister of Joselyn's dead first husband Edgar. Dolores has been in jail, and is now out, and masquerading as a nun, and trying to find out who murdered her brother.
