La Fea Más Bella #222 3/1/07 In Which Lety Referees

Aldo talks to someone on the phone about the great love he feels. Of course, he is referring to his love forLety, but Luigi, who is eavesdropping, thinks Aldo is referring to him. When Aldo refers to competition from “the other man” Luigi thinks Aldo referring to Rulli. Just then, Mr. Roper walks in and catches Jack and Chrissy in a compromising… oh wait, sorry (this novela is triggering Three’s Company flashbacks again) Back in his office, Luigi jumps around in excitement over his Aldo’s impending proclamation of love which he expects will happen any moment now.

Irmita answers a phone call from Rulli. She confirms that the received the gift. She promises to tell Luigi that Rulli called. As she hangs up, she smiles and thinks “Oh, these young’ens…”

Tomas watches Alicia from afar and feels bad for her, knowing that she mistakenly thinks that Aldo is interested in her. Should he tell her? No, he decides, because she’d slap him again. Meanwhile, Alicia cries at her desk. Tomas looks worried about this. He goes to her desk and asks her what’s wrong. She says it’s something Catastrofico. He looks worried, but then she explains the death of her cell phone. Tomas reaches into his pocket, hesitates, then takes out his own cell phone. He offers to lend it to Alicia. He has a hard time handing it over and his fingers squeak on desk as he pulls away, indicating just how hard it was to let go of the phone. Alicia happily takes the phone and rewards him with an “Ayyyy Tommy!”

Julieta asks Robopop what do he thinks of Aldo. Robopop says he seems decent. Julieta says she thinks he is enchanting, and so does Lety. Robopop asks if mom is trying to marry them off and quickly adds that Lety is too busy and has too many responsibilities to think about marriage.

Tomas writes his cell phone number on a yellow sticky note for Alicia. Tear tracks have left streaks down her face but she is ecstatic. She looks at the sticky for a second and says she has already memorized the number. She promptly disposes of the sticky by pasting it on the front of his hair. (Tomas really looks like Woody Woodpecker with that new shade of strawberry blonde he’s sporting.)

.
Tomas then goes to Lety’s office and Lety asks why he’s so cheerful. He explains he and Aldo are not good buddies, which pleases Lety. He also explains that Aldo told him he’s not interested in Alicia, which leaves the path open for Tomas. Lety suggests that he immediately go over and propose marriage to her. He sits under the Ladyparts Shell From Hell painting and ponders this suggestion seriously before Lety points out that she was just kidding. Lety realizes the painting is upside down. She wonders how that happened but doesn’t give it much thought before asking Tomas to fix it.

Marcia returns from her apartment with her wedding dress. She tells Alicia she doesn’t want it at home since the situation with Fern is not looking too good. Alicia volunteers to take it off her hands and says she will use it for her wedding with Aldo. Marcia sarcastically agrees to give Alicia the dress if she ever marries him. Alicia points out that it will need to be altered.

Alicia walks out to the lobby where she glides around with the dress to show the cuartel and talks about her impending nuptials to golden boy Aldo. Tomas sees this from afar and runs to Aldo’s office. Poor Tom is so hurt that his new BFF has betrayed him. He calls Aldo a traitor for lying about his feelings for Alicia, and says he knows all about his plans to marry Alicia; she’s already got the dress and everything! Mr. Roper… uh, I mean Aldo asks Tom what the heck he’s talking about. Aldo assures Tom that he (Aldo) has no interest in Alicia. Tom doesn’t believe him until Aldo spits out “I love Lety!” Tomas is impactado. Aldo smiles and nods.

Marcia and Alicia go to her office where Fern’s is on the phone. Her arrival makes Fern very uncomfortable. Alicia takes out the dress and he asks why she brought it here. She goes for the sympathy points and says she can’t bear to keep it at home. She asks Alicia to leave them but he makes hasty exit. Alicia-- always great for pouring salt on open, bleeding, throbbing wounds-- points out the effect Marcia has on him. Marcia is disgruntled.

Tomas thinks it’s great that Aldo doesn’t care for Alicia or her peras. Aldo is worried about how Alicia could possibly think they an item. Tomas says Alicia has a picture of the them at the restaurant. Aldo’s light bulb finally clicks on and he realizes she must have misunderstood him last night. Tomas congratulates Aldo on his feelings for Lety. Aldo agrees that yeah but she loves Fern. Tomas thinks time she forgot that canijo. Aldo whines that every time he tries to talk to Lety about his feelings, she talks to him about her suffering for Fern. Tomas guesses that Aldo is afraid she’ll reject him. Aldo again agrees but on the spot he decides he’s going to stop being afraid. He grabs Tom by the lapel and Tom grabs Aldo back. Aldo continues “When one feels true love… [insert flowery new-age pontification here]…” Aldo lets Tom go and runs out of the office.

Sarah sees that Lety looks worried asks Lety is she’s you troubled about what the PG said. Lety responds by giving an unambiguous look of anxiety.

In his office Luigi baby-talks to his overgrown teddy bear and plays peek-a-boo with it. Alicia comes in with the wedding dress and says she needs a favor. She announces that she’s marrying Aldo and needs the dress altered. Luigi says that’s impossible, because Aldo only loves him. She says he told her last night he wants to be with her forever. Luigi -- almost literally-- puts his card on the table; he shows off the card that came with the monster-bear. He points to the part that out that says “Forever”. Alicia scoffs. He calls her bluff and asks where her engagement ring is. They refuse to accept each others stories. Luigi says she’s crazy and asks the monster-bear if he agrees. Alicia says that she won’t invite Luigi to her wedding.

Tomas overhears the conversation, and Alicia catches him as she leaves Luigi’s office. Tom asks Alicia what the dress is for. Alicia explains that she’s going to marry Aldo. Tom asks if they have set the date. Alicia says that, as a matter of fact, they have. Tomas hesitantly asks if she’s sure he loves her. She, of course, is sure he does. He wonders if maybe it’s a misunderstanding. Alicia asks what the heck he’s talking about. Tom hesitates again. He suggests that she talk to Aldo. Alicia and demands to know. Tom finally breaks down and tells her that Aldo doesn’t love her. Alicia doesn’t believe him. She insults him and hits him with the bodice of the dress. Tomas spits out that Aldo does love her because he loves Lety. Alicia is mortified at the thought. She insults him some more before running off.

Aldo goes to Lety’s office and says they must talk. Lety says she’s really busy, but Aldo doesn’t care and insists that they go for a walk right now. As they head through the lobby, she tells PM she’ll be back and won’t be long. Aldo adds that actually, she might be a bit late. He tickles Lety’s chin and she giggles. The cuartel swoons.

Alicia walks into Marcia’s with the dress. She’s furious with Luigi and Tomas. She recaps her arguments and Tomas’s revelation about Aldo and Lety, adding “Hah imagine that! How ridiculous.” Marcia is very quiet and pensive. She reasons that Fern fell for Lety, and that didn’t seem possible either. Alicia reasons that Fern is crazy and not normal. Marcia, adds that Aldo did give her the giant Ladyparts Shell From Hell, plus, they hung out together in Acapulco… plus, she’s noticed that during the meetings, he looks at her in a very special way. Alicia refuses to believe it until she sees it for herself.

Fern discusses his trip with Omar in their clubhouse… uh, I mean office. Marcia comes in and announces that she is packed and ready to go. She accuses Omar of conspiring with Fern to plan this trip to send her away. Omar offers to leave so they can talk but they insist that he stay. She asks Fern if he is aware that ALDO IS IN LOVE WITH LETY. Fern loses his balance and knocks over the stuff on his/Omar’s desk.

Outside Conceptos, Lety and Aldo walk and she goes on about work. Aldo tells her to let him talk. He says that attitude indicates there is something she doesn’t want to face. But he says that he needs to fight for what is most important in his life. She asks what that is. He responds that it’s his love for her. He kisses her hand (sorry, Aldo, not feeling any chemistry here).

Fern tries to regain his composure. Fern unconvincingly claims that he doesn’t care whether Aldo loves Lety, but they must respect the business, because this is not a bordello. Again, Omar offers to leave so they can talk but they won’t let him leave. Marcia says “Yeah, right, just like you have respected it.” She sarcastically adds that he is the poster boy for honesty and ethics, and morality. Fern impatiently rolls his eyes. He stutters and then suddenly remembers he has something he must ask Lety about right now and runs out . Marcia winces and hisses “yeah, right!”

Fern rushes into Lety’s office, slamming open her door, then runs back to the lobby where he anxiously asks PM where Lety is. PM reports that she went out with Aldo. Fern and Alicia exclaim “What?!!” at the same time. He leaves and Sarah perceptively observes “Troy is burning.”

Aldo reminds Lety of the kiss in the ocean. Lety reasons with Aldo that a kiss is just a kiss. Aldo tells her that when she returned to D.F., he missed her and realized how much she means to him. He doesn’t care if she still loves Fern; she needs to know that he (Aldo) loves her. Lety is confused; so many women, why her, someone who to being with is ugly...? Aldo tells her to stop saying that. Lety adds that in any case, it doesn’t matter because she loves… Aldo tells her “no” and kisses hand. He asks her to let him fight to win her love. Just then Fern runs up to them yelling “Hey! Hey! Hey!” with a fierce look on his face.

Marcia tells Alicia that when she told Fern about Aldo, he went nuts. The look on his face showed that he was dying with jealousy, and he ran right off to find her. Alicia still thinks Tomas made it up. Marcia points out --with good reason -- that whether it’s true or not isn’t important. She observes that two men are in love with the same fea. What do they see in her? What is it about her?

Fern accuses Aldo of using the tacos-and-chalupas project simply to be near Lety. He calls him a trickster. Aldo retorts that Fern is “el burro ablando de orejas” (“the donkey talking about ears”… great variation on the black kettle adage!). Aldo points out that there is nothing wrong with wanting to be near Lety and that he is willing to yell out to the four winds his feelings for Lety. He proves this by turning in all directions as he yells “Let it be known to all of Conceptos that I love Leticia! I love Leticia!… I love…” Fern covers Aldo’s mouth and says he’s willing to do it too but she won’t believe him. He calls out “Love, love..” Aldo points out that he didn’t do it (because Fern never said Lety’s name like Aldo did) . Fern walks toward Aldo and punches Fern in the kisser.

Cuartel speculate about the PG’s vision of two men thinking about Lety. They guess that Aldo and Fern are the two men. They decide that it is very urgent, VERY URGENT, for them to figure out the truth.

Aldo tries to lead Lety away from Fern. Lety asks Aldo to wait, and begins to say something to Fern, but goes after Aldo again and this time it’s Aldo who gets punched in the face. They both grab her. Aldo says Fern’s only interest is his company. Fern tells Aldo to leave him and his… Lety alone. Aldo asks Fern how dare he feel he has the right to defend Lety. Aldo thinks they should let her decide, then knocks Fern to the ground again. Lety suggests to Fern that he leave. Fern says Lety is the president of the company, and she made commitment to him. Lety seems impactada by this.

Vocab:

Catastrofico – Catastrophic
Pera – Pear (as in, “a pear to eat”… not as in “a big pair
of bazoongas in a red satin corset”)
Canijo – Jerk

Bonus:
Mira el burro ablando de orejas - Look at the donkey talking about ears

Finally an episode with some substinence. I thought that there was a lot of chemistry between Aldo and Lety, especially the second time he kissed her hand. I can't believe that Fernando can't even say that he loves Lety out loud. If he really loves her, then he should have no problem saying it, don't you think? I don't know guys... I want Fernando & Lety to be together, but I really liked how Aldo was trying to explain his love for her. I can't wait to see the rest of the fight!

Esther

Wow, I'm visiting my daughter in NYC and am impactada that I missed this episode. Hope my vcr got it, sounds great.

It was great Melinama! I don't know about the rest of you but episodes like this are why I watch this show. Where in the United States will Fernando be going, I didn't catch that part. Also I wonder if anybody else heard Aldo call Lety a "princessa" last night? That was crazy adorable. I used to really dislike Marcia but I felt extremly bad for her last night. Why would any woman hold onto a man who is so uninterested in her?

Great episode!! Thanks so much for the recap!
I loved Aldo calling Lety princess.
I loved the fight and can't wait to see the rest. I was yelling at the television and I'm sure my family thought I was completely nuts. Oh wait, they knew my favorite show was on and they are use to hearing me talking to the television during La Fea!
Fern who is always out of control, and Aldo who was also but is usually not were great.
I too was disappointed that Fern couldn't yell he loved Lety.
In the previews when Marcia came out to yell at Fern, I wasn't sure if she was scolding him (again) or was trying to rescue him (again).
I can't wait for tonight!!!!!

This was such a great episode, totally packed with significant action. Lots of funny stuff, too. Tomas looking upside down at The Shell and telling Lety it was ok...the lapel grabbing and shaking between Tomas and Aldo. Luigi covering the bear's ears so it didn't have to hear Alicia say she was marrying Aldo. The scene with Marcia and Alicia trying to figure out how the two guapos could both be in love with Lety was very satisfying.
Thanks for the recap--I laughed at Fern and Omar's "clubhouse." I was so happy to get a translation of the Fern and Aldo insults to one another. They were flying fast and furious and I couldn't catch exactly what they were saying. I hope to watch the tape of this episode again before tonight's broadcast.

Mellinama, too bad you missed the great episode--but at least you are here in NYC. Don't forget to go to Zabar's!

P.S. To whoever asked where Fern is going to be, I think they said NYC. This is very upsetting. TO think they may have been filming here and we didn't know!

When this episode rolled around the MX side many too were disappointed in Fer, not being able to shout his love....I gotta disagree, I've been with my husband nearly 20 years and he would never, ever be able to do that unless someone had a seriously large gun to his head...but he keeps coming home everyday for 20 years & everything is fine...so
Besides, showing that butt ugly picture to everyone and having her as a screen saver is enough...I know I have her as a screen saver on one computer in my office and several people have been horrified.

Nice guy....Aldo AssHat threw the first punch...
Wanting to see him get the snot kicked outta him is like wanting to see the president of the student council, lead in the school musical and quarterback combined..get the snot beat outta of them. It's okay cause even if Aldo gets beat up, his Dad can still have his "My child is on the Honor Roll at Conceptos" bumper sticker...

LOL Beckster, I needed that.

I don't know if I need new glasses or what, because I didn't see any chemistry between Aldo and Lety.

I DID see a lot of chemistry between Aldo and Tomas. I don't mean romantic chemistry, although I still think it'd be pretty funny if Luigi walked in on them. No, I just mean Aldo and Tomas are a really good team, and their scenes together are fun. But the Aldo + Lety scenes just make me grind my teeth.

And I was grinding my teeth a lot last night. I suppose I will have to grind them even more tonight. He keeps complaining that all Lety ever wants to talk about is business. Well, duh, it's business hours in a business office and she's the president of a business that needs to cough up 2.2 million US dollars per month for three months. He should have written her a letter (seriously).

Needless to say, Aldo lost whatever moral superiority he could claim when he punched Fern.

Aldo really lost moral superiority when he punched Fernando again after just saying we'll let her decide. It's like the fight was on hold and he just had to get in one more sneaky hit. Since Aldo knows Lety loves Fernando, and he can obviously see that Fernando must really love Lety, why doesn't he take the moral high ground he is supposed to be so good at and give Lety a chance at a life with a man she loves. That is what I don't understand. If Aldo really loved Lety I think that is what he would do. He is not self sacrificing enough to put Lety's happiness first.

Poor Luigi and Alicia. They both have it coming but my how the beautiful people are going to fall when they find out Aldo is not interested in either of them but is in love with the fea.

As much as I'm not a great Aldo fan I must admit that he's more worthy of Lety...

By the way, the correct spelling is "hablando" with H. From the verb "hablar".

I just can't believe it...

I think that Aldo got himself involved in something he shouldn't have.

Well well well, sounds like the dry spell is over. Some good face-punching action at last! Great recap Alma. I love the dicho about the donkey's ears, I think I'm going to add that to my vocabulary list.

It seems that Aldo is desperate and fanatical as far as Lety is concerned. I realize that describes Fern also so she evidently has that effect on handsome men!
Lety seems unsure about Aldo and at the same time grateful for his caring and attention.
Just my humble opinion of course but I didn't see any chemistry between Aldo/Lety except what was coming from his side. No sparks like with Fern/Lety hot enough to melt the screen.

Carrie L.

It's more than obvious that Lety and Fern like each other. Neather of them seem to be able to prove that in front of Aldo.

Ha! That punch was great! I'm a "Team Fernando" member for sure, but ever since he got back together with Marcia I've wanted to punch him in the head. If Aldo has to be the one to do it, then so be it! Fernando needs some common sense knocked into his head. (Plus, it makes Aldo look like less than a saint. Finally he has some edge!)

Melinama, you can tune into LFMB on either channel 41 or channel 8 if your daughter has cable. It comes on at 8:00 pm. When I visited bu daughter last Dec in Boston, I found the novela on channel 17. I couldn't bear to miss it.
I was wondering if Fernando will speak English when he comes to NY. I know that Jamie Camill is fluent in 4 languages, English being one of them. Anyway, thanks to the great recap.

WOW! Finally some action. Aldo showed a very unatteactive side of himself. He has been told over and over that Lety loves Fern and is not ready for him to declare his undying love. Lety's actions clearly show she considers him just a friend but what does he do but take romantic advice from TOMAS of all people and pushes himself on Lety. Very dumb move.

Then sucker punching Fern showed his real side. He wants what he wants and to hell with anyone else.

Fern was adorable when he knocked over all the stuff on the desk and tried to play cool which lasted a nano second before rushing off to find his Lety. PG told him he would have to fight for his love and obviously he is willing.

Lety yet again shows what a wuss she is by running away. Whenever things get tough with Fern that is her pattern. She still continues to think he is lying or using her when his actions lately say otherwise. For someone who is supposed to be so bright she acts dreadfully dumb.

As for Aldo proclaiming his love out loud. BFD - he's talking to a building. Since when do you prove you love someone by yelling it to all and sundry. Just another grandstand move for the guru.

I had to laugh at the scene in he "clubhouse" when Marcia arrived to make her great announcement. All Omar wanted to do was get the hell out of the place before the explosion but neither one would let him.

Poor Alicia and Luigi are in for a giant fall I suspect tonight when the combatants return to the office slamming doors and dripping blood. And the cuartel will be over the moon with more dirt to cackle over.

Meeting of the junta should be really interesting after this LOL!

Janey

Thanks for the RECAP!
Okay, I am trying to be impartial because I like Aldo, too. This is bizarre, because usually there is a very clear cut distinction between the rivals on these telenovelas, so normally I don't have these mixed feelings.

However, I did think the was a BEGINNING of some chemistry between Lety and Aldo, and who know how it might have ended --if Fernando hadn't come along right then?? Plus, Aldo was very charming in is ardent expression of his feelings for "his Leticia". You have to admit, HE is not afraid to declare his true love for her IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE WORLD. That was so Gratifying to see somebody show that on her behalf! That is something that Fernando STILL can't seem to deal with! Why not, for heaven's sake!?! He needs to GROW UP, and then I will be on his side 100%!!

I just wonder how in the world poor Lety is going to get their fight broken up--which was still in its' throes when the show ended. I mean if she has to run for help the Entire Concepto's gang will know of this latest "Escandalo" and that could very embarrassing for all three involved. Where is Celso & doggie when you need them? Taking another well deserved siesta??
By the looks of them, it will take SARA to come in and break them up!

Love the fight scene. It was one of the best episodes since the show began.

Marcia, you're days with Fern are numbered.

No chemistry between Aldo & Lety is correct..He has all the right words to tickle the ears of Lety, but Aldo is a great diversion at this time.Where did Aldo get that jacket with the denim collar?

I guess all the rumors about Jaime & Angelica being in love are just that--rumors. He's being seen with some blonde chick. Angelica is much too famous and beloved in Mexico for him..I believe his ego could not take hooking up with a woman more famous than himself.

ckrucvBad, Bad Aldo throwing punches when there was no threat. My husband once told me that in situations like this the guy that throws the first punch is the loser. I actually think Lety looked shocked when he did it and did anyone notice that when Fern hit the ground she rushed over to help him. I couldn't help wondering if she would have a flashback to the poor beaten up drunk in Acapulco.

Was it just me or at times didn't Aldo have a really ugly look on his face like he was getting rid of a lot of frustration? Than again I can't stomach him and think he is a gigantic phony so I could be misreading what I saw.

Looks like the cavalry will arrive tonight in the form of Marcia who probably wants to get in a few licks of her own. Have some pride lady and stay out of it. Go back to the apartment, pack Fern's things and leave them by the door. He'll appreciate not having to hurt you AGAIN and you can move on. Surely their must be a man in the universe that will go for a controlling harpy with weird cat's eyes and no sense of humor.

Diane

fern always had to fightb for what is his it started when he was a child that for everything he had i remember a memory about his childhood that he had to give something away his car to ariel. that is why he has to fight that is all he knows to do he realy loves lety so marcia better let it go heather

anonymous 1:16 from what I read Jamie's new girl friend is much younger than he is, 20 to his 33. He apparently met her in the hallway at Televvisa and was introduced to her by Camille Sota niece of his past love Thalia. Looks like the romantic world of actors in Mexico is very small especially considering that there was one real life fling between actors in LFMB.

Just call me a new member of the cuartel ;-)

Great point, Heather (anon) about Fernando having to fight for what he wants. He's not afraid to, either. As far as not yelling Lety's name out loud, well, why should he do what Aldo does? It would be like two roosters seeing who can crow louder - can't you see F & A flapping their arms, too?

Lety disappointed me when Fer had been knocked down, she went over, he extended his hand to her, and she tells him to leave, go away. He looked stunned & hurt :( B.tch! What about telling Aldo to leave? Is she afraid of upsetting him?

Great scene w/ Marcia, Fer & Omar.
Omar squirming, dying to get out, Marcia twisting the Aldo knife in Fer, and Fer trying to act nonchalant about Aldo enamorado de Lety, for about 30 sec. Poor Fernando.

Lety's impactada look had me thinking that I don't think Fern said the right words. It sounded possessive and I imagine that might get her mad/upset.

I'd like to say something...It really disturbs me for Aldo to be referred to as A$$hat and other not so nice things like wishing to see the snot knocked out of someone. That's very disturbing. If you don't like the character, fine, you don't have to like him. But just control your rage, ok? I just don't understand why the venom. The Telenovela world list got nasty like that. They said hateful hateful things. I don't want to see this board deteriorate to that level.
Thanks. Barb

I kinda agree with Barb..I am not an Aldo fan (I'm in Fern with Lety party) but then again I don't think he's an A$$hat either. That sounds like the wrong word and doesn't really fit this novela. Course I could be the only one making that kind of distinction because while there are mean people in this one I don't see them as villans in the same way as other novelas.

P.S. I'm not saying that Aldo is mean, not in the least. Aldo is okay and I am happy that somebody else shows romantic interest in Lety and that he has helped Lety in his own guruish way but that's it.

Oh, that's right..Reference to Thalia was made on LFMB once I recall..Obviously, Thalia had "big bucks" on her mind marrying Tommy Matolla (however one spells his name)living in a 10 mil penthouse in NYC.

Read Jaime was on his way to Broadway for a part in Carmen?
Has anyone heard that?

Please allow people to express themselves here, whether in agreement or not..No chastising, por favor.

Hello All,

I agree with Louise almost completely
But, Beckster - your sense of humor cracks me up. While I lke Aldo, loved your comment about the Honor student sticker.

Thanks for the recaps,
Rhonda

Okay...point taken...Sorry if the reference to Aldo getting hit up was considered inapporiate...I hope Fernando invites him to lunch (once Fernando gets up from being sucker-punched). Really couldn't Fernando have just turned the other cheek, literally & figuratively...

IMO, the level of discourse in this blog is very civil and amiable, with a decent tone of language. There's enough snark to keep things lively and the vulgarities are toned down or expressed in veiled terms. I love the comments and all the extra meaning they bring to our understanding of La Fea, with people taking sides and sharing opinions (although we have zero tolerance for Ariel).

dunno - got me some arieltolerance bcs he was humberto's second string - in case his son couldn't keep the business going he brainwashed into his dead partner's son that the business was more important than anybody else or anything else as well as his own son... you'd think it was royalty or maybe the mafia that humberto's ux included an arranged marrage pressure on her son and the dead partner's dau.

"he brainwashed into his dead partner's son that the business was more important than anybody else or anything else as well as his own son"

You think so? Ariel who multiple times asked Humberto to liquidate the business as soon as possible? That Ariel? I guess the brainwashing didn't "take."

yeah, apparently ariel is smarter than ferni who swallowed it whole (family business trumps all) and let the company be a wedge between himself and letti. (Never heard of a company being the third corner of a luvtriangle.)

anonymous 02:56:00 PM EST...
I did feel no warmth towards Ariel...but now I kinda like him cause he reminds me of JR Dallas Days...vintage havin a drink, then offering one to SueEllen the family Alkie, while callin her a drunk. Ariel displays the same snideness and just born into it.
He is not a nice person, but then I don't think he really cares if anyone thinks he is...except for Hum & Theresa...think Dallas 1982...Daddy..Mama. I still would sit by him on a bus, before I would sit next to El Checque...

Alma--thanks for this detailed and funny recap! I am really glad they had Aldo throw the first punch. I only wish Fern had kicked Aldo’s ass. I can understand the disappointment in Fern not saying Lety’s name, but the fact that he ran out on Marcia to come between them is good enough for me. Besides, no way would Fern want to mimic Aldo’s actions. I felt sorry for Omar, unable to escape from Marcia and Fern. I still find no chemistry between Lety & Aldo. By the way, Ass hat works for me. Aldo fans--remember you like an underdog, interloper who really pushes the buttons of those of us who love the story and wonderful chemistry between Lety & Ferni.

Teresa

Beckster - Nice and apt reference to Ariel and Dallas. It made me think would Fern have become so terrible insecure and desperate to always please Humb and Helmet head had they never placed Ariel and his sisters ahead of him in the pecking order. While the viejo Mendiolas may have had good intention in taking in the spawn of their dead friends they lose a lot of points in their unfeeling attitude toward their own flesh and blood. I just hope that by the end Fern takes Lety and tells his icy parents that they can take the business and give it to Ariel (who'll sell it off in a heartbeat) or shove it.

Cassie

His sister likes ariel tho she put ferni first so that must feel nice (naught) when one's parents are dead (if this weren't a comedy novela, their death wouldn't be an accident).

Who's rumored to have had a romantic fling on set? Tell us,please. Jaime & Angelica? Angelica lost 20 lbs.and was working out. Nothing like romance to whip a woman into shape.. Say it's not them, amd he dumped her for some 20 year old wannabe at Televisa? I think Angelica is quite the talent and daughter of the first lady of Mexico--her mother Angelica Maria.

or your actresscontract requires you to acquire all the prettyattributes like weightloss

I'm in Team Fer, but I want to point out that Aldo thinks that Fernando doesn't love Lety. He thinks Fer is using Lety to save his business. Remember how he asked Caro if there was a possibility that maybe Fer was in love with Lety, and she said not a chance? I'm sure that if he new that Fer really loved Lety, and saw him worthy of her love, he would remove himself of the picture. Also, I know Aldo gave the first punch, but I couldn't help to remember when Fernando punched Tomas to a pulp, I found myself yelling at Fernando "there, you found your match, Aldo is not poor Tomas eh?”..... You would have seen the look in my children faces :))
maricruz

anonymous 4:33 The rumored hook up was between Niurka (PM) and Agustin Arena (Omar). I heard it on one of those talk shows where her most recent nasty divorce was being discussed. It wasn't a long time thing but her husband mentioned her affairs with both AA and her ex Juan Osorio when he called her a nymphomaniac when filing for divorce. It kind of creeps me out because she is about 6 or 10 years older then he is.

Now a full-time member of the cuartel I despise. LOL

Didn't Tomas hit Fernando several times, before he hit him back then yeah he went over the edge....
Wasn't this also part of the Lety revenge plot of "never confronting him about the letter of shame"...

Thanks..You mean Niurka (PM) was rumored to be carrying on with Agustin Arana(Omar)? Obviously, he has no taste in women..That last husband of hers (Bobby something)and the little short ex- husband said she was a nympho? Now that you mention that, I remember hearing something about that during her big latest divorce from "Bobby"..What a hoochie mama is PM..

I Love it when Fern speaks in English. I am sure it is all adlibbed. Also, when Saimon, Sara and Omar speak English it is so cute. "George, George Flowers", Fern sounded so cute....PG looked so perplexed, however Fern brought the conversation right back to the words for continuing the storyline and then they were on their way. Funny, how we speak about Fern and Lety, (Jaime and Angelica) within the same sentance. I would love to see them together in real life. Anxiously waiting for the next episode......

Louise, I agree with you completely. And have we all forgotten how cruely Fernando beat up Thomas? Even though we know that Fernando loves Lety, she doesn't. She's still not over the deception. How many women can honestly say that they would go running back to someone who treated them the way Fernando did? If he really wants to win Lety back, then he needs to break things off with Marcia for good and not be afraid to tell people how he feels about Lety. I too find it hard to read all the mean things said about Aldo.

I know I've said some not so kind words about Aldo, but some of us are blinded by our loyalty to Fernando.I've stopped, because at this time in Lety's life he's good for her..She's trying to find her way with her new job, and coming to some point in her life to move on from Fernando.Maureen

Fernando is a guy who doesn't liked to be messed with. If you hit him, he'll hit back. He might even throw the first punch if you antagonize him enough. Call me a neanderthal, (neanderthalette/ess/a?)- I like that about him.
Maricruz, thanks for reminding us that Caro & Aldo both think Fer doesn't love Lety. That makes Aldo's actions more understandable. Once again, Fer and Lety don't say what's on their minds, so she's thinking Fer just wants her to help w/ the company, and he's thinking she hates him, so why should he leave Marcia, (even tho he can't stand to be around her)?
What a course in open communications would do for Conceptos!(Also Alibubi & Luigi would never have thought Aldo had the hots for either of them).

I never really understood why Caro is the be all end all in the Fer/Lety relationship? When was she point man for Fer & knew his every thought? Yeah...I get the sticking up for her friend thing....but gee if everyone just quit taking everyone else opinion as the valid truth....I guess this would have already ended.

Oh yeah I forgot this...if Fernando was chasing Alicia..would Tomas have a different outlook on a Aldo/Lety hook-up....Somehow I think he would be directing Lety in a different direction.

I don't know how Fern can do much more then he did when he told her a day or so ago (in LFMB time) that he loved her but she continually refuses to give him a chance to talk to her. On the day of the big junta meeting when he asked her to wait she ran off to Acapulco. He called her house constantly trying to reach her but she wouldn't let anyone tell him where she was. Yes, his initial treatment of her was awful but long after she read the damming letter she stuck around so she is a little off base to keep trying to pretend that all the bad things that went down were solely Fern's fault. I dislike the fact that she has never admitted that she was also responsible for what happened and she ignores the fact that she slept with an engaged man. She lacks the courage to face Fern and let him talk and she is using Aldo both as a buffer and to prop herself up. Neither of which is fair to Aldo or Fern. At this point in the story she is not a very likable person, she's not hateful like Marcia and Alicia but she is a far cry from the usual saintly novela lead.

In any event i'll be brewing a big pot of tea and hanging on the edge of the sofa to see how Marcia keeps Aldo from choking Fern to death.

About relationships in the novela world.....In an interview that Angelica (lety) gave in 20005 (I think), when asked if she was going to get married, she said she wasn’t thinking on marriage right then, but that she had a very special friend with whom she had made a pact. The deal was that by 2008 if neither of them was engage or married, they would get marry. She wouldn’t give the name of the friend, because he also was an actor. In a later interview for a Brazilian program (the whole thing was in Portuguese) She says that Jaime and her have a pact!!! About getting married (you can hear Jaime in the background correcting her that they said they would live together and have kids not that they wer going to get married) (what a jerk!!!) anyway I think Jaime (like Fer) doesn’t deserve Angie, but they make such a cute couple. (I tried to find the links in youtube but couldn't.... sorry (but I saw both interviews)

finally Fernando has met someone who can hold there own (he was once the superstar fighter NOT anymore).Aldo knows Fernando is a threat we all knew once he (fernie) found out that Aldo is in love with Lety, that Fernando would loose control so am sure he didnt go outside to calmly talk to Aldo he was going to kick some a$#.THATS RIGHT ALDO PROTECT THAT BIG WHITE SMILE.Fernando most of ours are very dissappointed in you at the moment.

I thought the fight scene was not well choreographed.
- They looked like they were fighting "like girls"!

Alma, wonderful recap, thanks for all the great details and funny editorials!

Well, I was glad for action but I hate to see fighting. I hope that now that they have some of that out of their system they can face off and do it mroe diplomatically. One can always hope. (Not that I really expect either of them to shape up now that they have the rivalry out in the open...). I was really, really disappointed in Fernando not being able to say how much he loves Lety out loud.

With all due respect, of course Aldo can yell it out on the Conceptos front lawn - it's not his company or his chisme employees, what does he have to lose. Fern has to be more careful. Besides, he says more about loving her with one look and action than Aldo could show in a lifetime.

With all the choking and wrestling and falling, Fern and Aldo didn't seem to dirty or muss their clothing. Just a few marks to the mouth and they were as good as new.
I thought the fight was rather poorly written, but on the other hand it was the most exciting thing that has happened in a long time.
Bad remarks about Aldo or Fern don't bother me at all. It just shows the passion we all feel about our team and the show in general.
I would love to see Fern and Lety together in real life. Although Jamie and Angelica probably aren't too much like our Fern and Lety.
Aldo seems to be a nice guy but I think Lety is best suited with passionate Fernando!
I'm really looking forward to seeing how Fern and Lety handle the little mermaid snake during the dinner meeting!!
