Caray, Caray!

That may be the dumbest thing I ever saw. In the space of 10 minutes we went from I love you Don Fernando and can't wait to marry you" to "well, maybe not" I think I got whiplash sudden change of direction.
 

Yeah, my head is spinning from the total 180 degree turn Lety's taken. I suppose our next few weeks will be her trying to figure out which guy to stay with while both of them court her. Can't say I'm looking forward to that.

I have to agree with Lety, I much prefer the noble Marcia from yesterday, than the harpy beret-wearing shrew who showed up in the office today.

Great maturity on Fernando's part, I might add, in giving Lety the space to figure things out on her own. Also, Aldo impressed me with his behavior too, I guess I expected psycho-angry Aldo to come out, but he didn't. His little good-bye to the lady parts painting was just plain creepy to me.

Can't say I like Marcia being Fernando's rehash person. We NEED Omar back, and more importantly, Fernando needs Omar back. Hope that happens soon.

So, Marcia is whoring Alicia out. Guess she and her brother aren't so completely different after all. Of course, Ariel does it to be mean, Marcia's doing it to gather info. Still, the end doesn't justify the means.

Lety and the headgear, who knew it could get any worse. And yes, the french manicure has been bugging me for weeks.

Still on Team Fernando, so here's hoping that he's right that the good guy gets the girl.
 

Oh, I forgot to mention that Teresita's outfit in addition to the hair REALLY made her look like a clown (and I hate, hate, hate clowns). What a freak. And your comment about her using her acting face number 35, so true. I wonder if they cue the face she needs on the teleprompter.

I'm glad that Humberto finally said something that could almost be construed as loving toward his son.

Last night was beyond stupid and we talked about it yesterday..

I know Lety is supposed to be "book smart",maybe not MENSA material,but how do you go from si,si,Fernando to I'm not sure,don't know,I'm confused.

Aldo to the rescue with bail out in hand,along with a bonsoi tree? What was that "buy me love" gift beyond the folder?

Am I the only one that thinks there is zero chemistry between ALdo & Lety?

Marcia stopped by the local consignment store again with the wool hat and knee knockers..I was viewing her a little differently from two nights ago,as she showed some resemblance of compassion & realization that her time with Fern has passed..Now she's back on her high horse again..Give it up,Marcia.The only thing you may get from Fernando is friendship.
 

I'm getting so tired of this show. I'm in a total state of "burn out". I want to care after investing so much time and emotion on this show, but I feel I'm loosing it. Maybe it's the way it's written, but Lety seems to have 3 faces, sad, angry and stupid, maybe add in happy for about 34 seconds. Is it Angelica's acting, she must be exhausted? The only thing that keeps me watching is Fernando and I'm really missing his exchanges with Omar. I know I'll watch to the bitter end, but it's not just that much fun anymore.

I hated the way Humb seemed grossed out at Fern's hug.
I hated Bozo's outfit. It was truly clownlike but went really well with her horrible hair.
Were the clowns in the mini car at the door waiting to pick her up?

What's with Marcia and her awful wardrobe??
The knickers were bad enough but the white knit beret was even worse.
I have to say though that I wish I could wake up like she does with hair, makeup, etc. perfectly in place from the day before. Imagine how much time that would save in the morning?

I agree, Fern needs his pal Omar back. I would much rather listen to their rehash sessions than the shrew driving her stake through Fern's heart over and over and over.

Lety's outfit was WAY too big. What was with that?
Also, the dental device was beyond hideous.

Sorry, last night's show was in my opinion ridiculous.
Why do I have the sinking feeling that it's only going to get worse from here?????

This show is exhausting. It has gone on way too long. The show should begin & end as the same in Mexico. The greed and popularity of the show pushed Televisa to suck the popularity for every dime it can get. A year is way too long for any novela,including this one that we like so much.
 

Hey I think Wiley Don heard the train whistle...I am beyond caring what happens to these people..Lety you are officially DTM. Don Fer took the higher road and will let Lety choose for herself, well good luck with that.

Also that was possibly the ugliest outfit..the boxy suit in Baby Diarrhea brown...nice choice..Lety is really growing into a stellar president and human being..Geez my work day would be even better if my boss could hit that whine decibel and I wonder if I could please get some baby talk outta management

sorry, but I kinda liked Marcia's outfit, I mean it was the fashion last fall..as for her being a shrew..please I would be all over these people too. Fernando is soooo in love..Marcia has absolutely no reason to trust Aldo..she knows Aldo loves Lety, now I don't think it would be too far of a stretch to think he may do something bad to the business. I am so bummed about this show. It changed both directions way too fast and didn't even give us any time to enjoy Fernando and Lety together. I can't believe Lety. She has moaned and cried over Fernando for how long now and now that she truly knows that he loves her and is ready to marry her, she is going to back off? AIEEEEE!!! In my opinion, Fernando is outgrowing Lety now. He has come a long way.

As for the new dental device, maybe it reflects on the outside how horrible Lety feels on the inside about hurting Aldo. We do have to remember that Aldo has been there for her from the start and she has leaned way too much on him for support. I felt sorry for Aldo, but I want Lety and Fernando together. Now that Lety has partially rejected Fernando, he will be vulnerable, lonely and susceptible to Marcia's wiles. Oh well, at least he'll have somebody who cares about him. I'm beginning to think Marcia deserves Fernando more than Lety. At least she does truly love him and comes to his rescue when he needs someone.
 

Lety is insecure about her feelings for Fernando. She loves him but she is still afraid that he will hurt her. She knows that women will always be attracted to him. Aldo, although handsome, has been betrayed by a woman. He and Lety have that in common. She depends on Aldo for support. That is why she feels guilty about his leaving. He helped ease her suffering in Alcapulco. He helped to give her the courage to become President of Conceptos. He helped her with the recent international food project. I believe her when she says that she loves both of them and that she is confused. Fernando is ready to make a commitment to her because his thoughts have been consumed by her. However, that has not been the case for her. She has allowed herself to think about someone else. For her to get back together with Fernando, she needs some time to sort through her feelings. I also think Fernando needs to gain his dignity back with respect to Conceptos for him to be truly happy. Unfortunately, many of us are growing impatient with the emotional roller coaster.

Could Lety look any more hideous with the wires around her face?

I'm with you on kind of liking Marcia's outfit. It's very fashion forward and takes someone very confident to wear something like that. Her outfit is very 1960's retro that was popular this year. It's not your plain run-of-the-mill boring but safe clothing. Honestly, though I don't like Marcia's personality usually, I think she is the prettiest woman on the show. With her slanted eyes she is kind of exotic looking. We know Fernando would never be happy with Marcia though, so I don't want them together. Maybe someone new could come on the scene. Lety is no longer worthy and will have to do some major changes on the inside to deserve Fernando, who is now as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Come on Lety! You have a lot of catching up to do.

Fernando's spiritual advisor told him he has to make amends then leave Conceptos. He's gotta let Lety be free to love, but his heart is still holding on.

Fernando not going back to Marcia..If he goes anywhere,it will be to Nueva York to begin again with Carla.She asked him to come to NYC should things not work with Lety.

Fern was so cute when he was telling his parents about Lety. He was like a little kid. I also thought that the night before, when he said "Hello, Mother-in-law," was the most endearing thing I had ever heard.
 

Don Humb was not sincere when he said that his son's happiness was more important. Don Humb was thinking about the business when he gave him his blessing. Sadly for Fernando, his parents are more concerned about the business than their own son. In fact, Fernando seemed awkward talking to his parents. Fernando looked out of place.
 

Okay...seriously the class system is extremely strong in Mexico...No parents in Fer's class would be pleased with his choice, not only that, they are a high profile cutting edge hip business, while Lety maybe endearing and people smile, it is really that uncomfortable smile like people use for "Special People", hey I didn't say it was PC...it just is...

Now I don't know for sure, but Aldo is rich too, but seems more nouveau riche or bourgeoisie, I just love the French
 

Fern was so cute with his parents and dancing with the cuartel the next morning(totally happy). He's carrying el diario in the bag for writing happy thoughts. Five minutes later,he's out the door of Lety's office with his head down in sadness.Lety has changed the game again..More sorrow and torture for our man. Five more weeks of this "will she or won't she" game.

I feel Aldo is going to attempt to wrap this relationship with Lety all in a bow here shortly by buying the "bling" for the left hand. What's a few more dollars for your investment when you given millions? He's baited the "hook" now it's time to reel her in.
 

I've been noticing Lety's immaculate manicures for many months. (Since last summer.) You would except to see chewed-up nails and ragged cuticles on those hands... but no... LOL about the green fingernail polish with the sparkly stick-on daisies!

I realize that the Mendiolas realistically shouldn't be so excited about Fern + Lety, but there is the little detail of them thinking that Team Fety (Lernando?) will save the company. I bet that sweetens the deal for them big-time.
 

Well aleast we know how much Letys love cost 6 million dollars Aldo bought her... she went from marrying Fern to Back to square 1.ALthough Fern did some very bad things i still consider him a good guy.Lety better make up her mind (and pick Fern).Of course i'm biased because i am on the Fernando Team(who can resist that face)

LOL, I was trying to place where have I seen the yucky mustard/poo color uniform before. The sad part is we can't blame the wardrobe department because that's her "style".

A couple of questions. Does anyone think that when they come out with La Fea on dvd, it will have english subtitles. Surely they have to know the american audience they've captured and how many people watch this show without speaking/understanding any espanol.
Also, I know someone who makes masks. I was thinking, if I had him make a Fernando mask, do you think: 1)Would they sell? and 2)Would our husbands be offended if we asked them to wear it and speak in a spanish accent while being intimate with us?
I have to think that some husbands would be offended but some would be happy to wear anything as long as they were getting some. I don't know, just a thought. Maybe a recording of Fernando's voice can be built in to the mask.

I too am upset over one minute fern and lety and the next fern is out the door. We needed a little time to engulf ourselves in the luxury of watching fern and lety besando mucho. I can see why lety acted this way, but i am extremely upset over the turn of events. She definitely loves fernando more, but she has been with aldo as a support and she is obviously feeling warmth when with him, but it is a gratitude, respect and secure feeling, not true love. When aldo left for alcupolco, he and lety were an item. He comes back and she is in the arms of fernando. It is a shock to him, because he kew she was trying to forget fern, not what he just saw". And Lety, she was so traumatized that she hurt the very person who helped her when she needed help the most. She feels rotten. She feels so obligated to him and then the coop de gra, he had the check to pay off the conceptos bill. Here she is int he arms of another man and he was away finding a way to save her and take her away. HOWEVEr, last night his reason for buying the place was so she was free to think for herself about "thing"; however, his motive was to give her another of his ocean gifts and whisp her away to alcupolco. Where is this "time to think, without the conceptos baggage"?????????
 

The only reason I continue to watch this also, is to see fern and to see him and lety in the end. But this program has gotten so bad, I tape it and then fast forward past aldo and her as well as much of the cuartel bull.

Yes, La Fea will come out on DVD eventually,but we (all) could be pushing up daisies by then.Best is to put the word out here for those who have recorded it from day one burn to CD or DVD,and they can sell to us to preserve our precious memories of nearly a year now of being totally transfixed with the show we love.
 

Ok, I used to think Lety was just wishy washy, but now I do think she's in love with both men (hey, I should have that problem!). I think she just loves them in different ways. But I don't want to see this dragged out forever (like we know it's going to be), so I have the perfect solution. Lety just needs to go all Paint Your Wagon on everyone and chose BOTH guys! Set one up in Acapulco and one in Mexico City. Hey, maybe she could even eventually hook up with Omar and set him up in Cancun. What the heck, a man on each coast and one in the middle. I repeat, I should have that problem!

Why oh why did they have to pull that crap with the headgear? W'up wi' that???

I really feel so bad for Aldo. I just knew that this was going to happen. He was really hurt. Lety knows how she felt when Fernando hurt her and then she goes & does the same thing to Also. I want to see Lety & Fern together but let's face it girls, Aldo is not really a bad guy.

i *thought* when Aldo was talking to his friend in Acapulco saying he was going to sell, that it only meant he's not the owner, but he still is the chef, and has to manage the restaurant. i could be wrong. basically he's not his own man anymore.

she switched to french when she came back from acapulco "made over". when she was wearing granny dresses there weren't any french nails.

I hate, hate, hate the direction this show took last night. No wonder this show went into the toilet in Mexico when we get this dreck thrown at us. What ever happened to the funny endearing Lety we first met. Obviously aliens have replaced her with this cold, self absorbed witch. Fern has grown by leaps and bounds and his diary speech was so heartbreaking after Miss Fool does a 180 in 30 seconds about being divinely happy and in love. I could feel for Aldo who like an idiot sells all his worldly good to get the girl based on nothing much and then finds her with her true love. I guess it will be interesting to see how both men react to the I love both of you crapola and which one will truly let her be free to choose. My bucks are on Fern.

Well no surprise to find out that the Villaroels must have been pimps in another life. First Ariel and now Marcia. A more disgusting pair I've yet to see - or wait the Mendiola parents aren't far behind. The business it everything and i thought it was Bozo who first commented on Fern's happiness being the most important thing and Don H just agreed. Too bad neither one is capable of supporting him through what is sure to be a long painful time. Omar at his blockhead worse was a hundred times better then them
 

I know that my husband would be insulted if I asked him to wear a Fernando mask. Although I think that Fernando is handsome, I like his personality better - with defects and all.
 

Love your idea JB about the Fernando mask. I think my husband wouldn't mind wearing one. I would definitely want a talking one as there is no way he could do that luscious spanish accent.

Does anyone know what the dental headgear is called? My kids went through a couple of years of braces (not 10 like Lety), and they didn't know the name for it either.

Loved the recap and all the comments. JB's idea for the Fern mask--too funny.
I totally lost it when Teresita appeared in the UGLY multi-color robe with her clown hair. She's a better actress than we think to appear in that getup and not seem self-conscious. That's a memory I can return to again and again when I need a laugh.
Alicia and Tomas were pretty funny in the scene about Alicia coming to live at his house--with only one tiny complication--his mama.
Fern was so, so sweet last night. I liked his happy entrance, dancing with all the feas in turn. When he and Lety did the slo-mo run into each other's arms, that was great, absolutely perfect. You didn't see that light-hearted spirit with Aldo.
Aldo's little farewell gesture to the LP Shell of Doom was more creepy than touching, to me. That speech Fern made to Lety was completely sweet, mature, and heartbreaking. It needs to be written in gold on the wall of Lety's office, like when they were writing in the sky the night before. Then it can balance out the seashell's influence with some Fern SweetLove.
I hate this dragging on and grinding out the ending. I guess we can be amused by Lety's next transformation while we wait for her to get up to speed with Fern's upgraded character. If Lety doesn't want Fern, I know lots of us who do.
 

I loved seeing Lety and Fer being goofy,silly,light hearted and loving like they were in the "old days". The spark was back , Lety finally let down her guard and found her heart again.

I have had it folks. I'm not going to watch this mess ever again and won't be reading the blog. O'Campo went too far by turning Lety into a cruel and whining b**ch and by throwing us the bone of Tuesday episode. I've just quit GH for the same reason and on that show they just cruelly split up my two favorite couples and making two of them pretend to be having an affair. I'm sick of being emotionally manipulated into caring about characters and then having it all torn away.

Fern and the diary was beautiful to watch. Sad sack Aldo going home to cry on Papi's shoulder was over the top and he quit his mad chase way too soon. Marcia's order to Alicia was disgusting. The cuartel have long ago crossed over into obnoxiousville with the exception of the level headed Irmita and their behavior last night borders on parody. Lety is no long worth caring about in the least and has now become as ugly on the inside as she is on the outside hurting men without seeming to care, whining over the least thing and then complaining that she lost both men because she can't choose. Grow up. I think the title should be changed to La Fea mas Fea and be done with it. Who cares about a superficial exterior make over when the inside is so ugly.

And don't get me started on costumes and make up. There isn't a woman in the universe who would look good in a too big mustard colored suit which I might add looked the top and bottom where in different dye lots add the white tights and clunky shoes and there is a nightmare walking. I just have one question what on earth do two handsome, educated, wealthy, worldly men see in this needy, emotionally retarded mess?

That's it for now. Perhaps I'll see you all on again on whatever follows LFMB and I'll miss the comments but not the show.

I don't know what that thing is called but it seems to me it is some kind of retainer. Well if Aldo who will obviously take the lead in the chase for Lety thought he wasn't getting any kissing from her before now his chances are further reduced. And, rats that means we won't get to see any of shots of Fern kissing her either. Thank heaven I have Tuesday on tape.

Unfortunately I see Lety as choosing Aldo initially both because she feels safe with him and will be guilted into thinking that she owes it to him since he sacrificed to much for her. But if I were him I'd be very careful since she is sure to run off and leave him holding the bag just as she did Fern.

I just loved the whole bit with the diary and can only think that it must be going to have some significance as the story grinds endless on and Lety flip flops like a beached whale.
 

Before you buy the DVD..think long and hard..there were what three romantic time with Lety/Fer...and endless dribble between, you really want a month of the Paul Revere costume, three weeks of the underwear commercial?
(notice this is from a disgruntled viewer who is well aware of the $$$$ made off every CD, DVD etc and the fact that Rosy O'Campy fancies herself the best thing since the Bard.
 

ha I did notice that french manicure a couple days ago! I can't stop thinking about it, because yah, she'd have to be sitting in a salon with the manicurist for an hour. Its not a sally hanson hard as nails kinda thing. AND you have to let your nails grow a decent length.

I agree with Cassie, I do not watch this novela, but I still read the blogg that way I find out if something good is going to happen and then I can watch; besides I think that I enjoy the recaps and the comments more than the show. I know that most everybody that write here, watch the show to learn Spanish, well, I read the recaps and I write comments to practice my English. After that farce last night I have added Rosy O'Campo to the list of novela producers who shows I will not watch under any circumstances including those that have my favorite actors in them. Prior to this I thought Juan Osorio was the worst producer on earth but this sick woman takes the prize.

I love, you and I'm so happy to I also love him too in the blink of an eye. Nothing like an idiotic scene like that to paint all women as empty headed indecisive fools who don't belong in the board room.

Fern took it with amazing grace but Aldo taking off after the cringe inducing caress of the porno shell without even waiting to hear what Lety had to say was a little surprising considering he is usually so self absorbed that I would have thought it would have at least demanded an explanation. He caught her kissing Fern not having sex on the desk. His giving up so fast seemed out of character to me.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia give it up. Even Bozo told you there is no chance and you were seeing something that wasn't there. Stop yakking on about your dignity and start showing it oh and loose the hats and boots.

Alicia is priceless wondering how the fea gets two handsome men to reject and between them all she and Marcia can get is Tomas Mora.

Please God if there is any justice in the world strike the cuartel with a three month case of laryngitis there by insuring that the show will end and we will never hear another squawk, shriek, lame flirtatious comment from them again.

I didn't see anyone else address what bothered me the most. I feel that Aldo showed no class by showing them that folder at that particular moment and then telling them I sold this, that, my dignity, etc so Lety could be free. Well pin a rose on your nose. Working at a newspaper as I do, I have always had a problem with people who do something for supposedly noble causes but call up and hound for press coverage (I gave this, I did that blah blah blah). This Aldo thing left the same bad taste in my mouth. And of course, she fell for it hook, line and sinker.

On the opposite end, Fern, showing the maturity he has now acted like my idea of a perfect man would be. Compassion, dignity, letting her have some time to sort out her feelings. WHAT A MAN!
 

Marcia and Ariel's treatment of Alicia...well, let's face it, Alicia is kind of a whore. She slept with Omar, Ariel, and Tomás in the hope of a cash payoff, and while she may delude herself that in the first two cases she was after marriage, what she really wanted was their money. If she weren't so transparently mercenary, and didn't totter about in tiny, tight, little outfits that left her "destapada por todos lados", they might treat her differently.

I agree with the comment about Aldo and the folder. He was practically screaming look at me aren't I wonderful. I love you better than Fern na na na. If he had any class he could have gone to his"hermanito" Tomas and given him the papers. Then Tomas would have run to Lety and spilled the beans. He did look terribly self serving.

Leave it to Marcia to wonder what the catch is and now the Mendiola'/Villroe'sl are in personal debt to Aldo surely a position they don't want to be in.
 

I guess I'm different from all the other viewers, I enjoyed some aspects of last nights show. Mostly the very tender and realistic kisses Fernando was giving Lety. I also enjoyed him pulling her close to him when she was in pain and turmoil-But did anyone notice that Fernando looked as if he were trying not to laugh when he left Lety's office after Aldo found them? I was wondering if someone was lurking behind the scene doing something silly to make him laugh.
 

Alex's comments re Alicia are good but I can't help thinking there is some reason for her being so desperate for money. I wonder if her unseen Papi even exists, if he is ill, poor, in jail or in some kind of needy situations. I always think there is something sad/tragic about her for some reason. And, some of us think that Ariel raped Alicia and that she didn't sleep with him willingly. Tomas and Omar are a different matter.

Oh yeah those kisses and the scene with Lety and Fern were great, we live for those but I think a lot of us are really annoyed/upset because we didn't get to enjoy more of them before the ax fell yet again. We've invested a ton of time and are getting very little payoff and now we don't even have the hilarious antics of Fern and Omar to take our minds off the endless twaddle of the cuartel, Marcia and Alicia and Tomas as well as Aldo's pontificating on everything under the sun.
 

To ANON above, I also thought Aldo's timing was bad. He could have waited to shove that folder in Lety's face. I believe it was deliberate. It's like, here's what I've been doing for you and have given up everything while you're here with another man. The only thing is Aldo knew Lety loved Fernando so why is she supposed to be so guilty at being caught kissing him. If he really and truly loved Lety, knowing how much she had loved Fernando, he would have bowed out of the picture gracefully. I really believe that is what Fernando would have done were the shoe on the other foot. Just my opinion.
 

I can't help but wonder--If the original producer hadn't died mid-show, whould it still be dragging on like it is? I don't know Rosy Ocampo from the dirt on the bottom of Ariel's shoe, so don't know how much to blame on her and how much on the original producer.
 

Last night was a very hard night for everyone. But I do beleive that at the end it will pay off.(not a spoiler cause it is my first time watching this novela). I undestand people are upset, but things happen just like in real life. So just bc something goes wrong that means we give up. We keep moving on.. Just a thought. I will keep watching faithfully like I always have. And reaing this page.

Rosy O'Campo is the original producer. The director died and would have had little input on the gross extension of the story.

For what it is worth those of you who have been watch Destilando, I just read that it has been extended for 100 more episodes. Extending it that soon in the run should not be as awful as LFMB because whatever story lines they add or stretch will be able to be more fully integrated something that did not happen with LFMB.
 

Anon 2:24 the guy that died was a director not the producer. No it has pretty much been a Rosy O'Campo show from day on. She gave and continues to give endless interviews in Mexico about her show and her muse. Remember until now Rosy O'Campos forte was kid's novelas, so keep that in mind.

There is a TV show in Mex in the mornings called HOY, kinda like good morning america & it is like 5 hours long and everyday..it was LFMB, interviews, commentary..spoilers from that nites show..makeovers for woman..during the Lety makeover, interviews with people on the street..long clips from the best of LFMB..I have often wondered what in the hell they show now that LFMB is done..maybe Destillo Amor, since it seems to be the new favorite in Mexico
 

Yeah and in Mexico time the director still has not passed yet so there would have been zero effect at this point....
 

Before getting annoyed at "I sold everything I own on Ebay Aldo" I WAS enjoying Fern's happy dance and the silliness so much. It was so sweet.

I think Aldo's new name should be BUZZKILL because that's exactly what he was last night. As a friend of mine would say: this guy could spoil a wet dream!

On top of everything after being so disgusted with
LFMB last night and with tonight's preview I have heard two wildly conflicting opinions about the ending -not the content - just the ending. One person claimed it was beautiful, the other said it was the worst ending ever and totally unrealistic. Like LFMB is realistic anyway. I'm going to hate it like h*ll if I stick it out through more of this idiocy and get a crappy ending.

Apparently we are THIS close to the make over and guess what i couldn't care less.

Like all others,anything Rosy O'Campo is involved in,I will not watch. She has royally screwed this show..Could Lety's transformation not have happened much,much sooner..Not just the physical changes,but the emotional as well..

Fernando is the only sane and realistic one of the whole bunch..
 

Yes, Anonymous 2:07....I too noticed Fernando's little smile as he left...someone was surely goofing with him as he would not have been smiling were he in character.
I was heartsick and angry at last night's turn of events. A blogger on Destilando queried "why are the happy times so brief and the tragic times so long" (well something like that) and those happy, tender ,loving moments with Lety and Fernando were FAR TOO BRIEF after months and months of pain and misunderstanding. I JUST WANT TO SCREAM!!!!!
That being said, Fernando is gorgeous and I'll just keep watching because of that.
J.B....your husband must be mighty self-confident not to mind your Fernando mask idea. Better stick with some private fantasies, girlfriend. Judy B.(but not J.B.)
 

Anon. 2:08, I did consider the fact that Ariel blackmailed or otherwise coerced Alicia into going to bed with him, but then she tried to hang the phony pregnancy on him to trick him into supporting her and her phantom child. To me that's mercenary. That said, she does have her moments of humanity. I think her father does exist; what I think is confusing the issue is that sometimes she's really talking to him and sometimes she's only pretending for the cuartel or whomever. I've pretty much decided that Papi Ferreira may have been rich once, but not anymore.
 

ok this novela is getting way too tangled up. Fern and Lety are technically still going out. In another world Aldo thinks HE is going out with lety.
 

I'm glad that Lety pushed Fernando away last night. I don't want him to be with her. She doesn't deserve him. She is a BEAST and I have a hard time watching Fernando kiss her. Her braces gross me out. Her smile should only be seen in medical books. How crooked could her teeth be? Maybe she needs cables instead of wires to straighten them out.
I have noticed her French Manicure but last night I only noticed her hair band at the end of her braid. It had a colored ball attached to it. Who wears that? Obviously young children and not women. I believe that Fernando should be with a someone who looks, walks and talks like a women and not a child beast. I would like some normalcy to occur before they get back together.
 

I heard Selma hayac say that the whole gist of a telonovela is mucho kissing. Then they pull back and want to make the audience scream "WOULD YOU JUST LET EM KISS!!!! She said they tease and taunt you with the lips, the eyes, and the desire. i don't know about anyone else but thats exactly how I feel when Fern's sexy brown eyes look at Lety with so much desire- I feel like pulling their heads together for a good ole Fernando style kiss every time!

This was originally referred to as a comedy at the start and it was. Unfortunately the never ending extensions have turned it into turgid drama and we are getting precious few if any laughs.

I couldn't help thinking the other night when Aldo was having his little dream on the beach, how he ran into the water to hug Lety and put his arms around her only to have her vanish that that is an omen for Aldo. He is simply chasing an empty dream. God help me if he ends up with her because you'll hear me screaming where ever you are.

For all of talking about how Fern has had to grow up and Lety needs to and isn't, Aldo also has some growing to do. Aldo hid away after his wife died and Lety is the first woman that came along that he felt he could fix when he should have been fixing his own life. I can't help thinking she is just a project for him and that he is as deluded about his feelings for her as she is for him.

I thought Lety looked like a century 21 agent too! I think the headgear was really funny... My kids endured braces but wouldn't be caught dead in headgear.
I love this show and will be sad when it is over. Don't care that I don't like the direction it is going right now cause I know when it ends there will only be the typical Mexican soaps to follow.

In Lety's defense, remember that Fernando has treated her terribly. Much as I love him, he's not the nicest man in the world, and she's been badly hurt and betrayed by him. And aside from that, he was ashamed of their relationship for a long time, he judged her by her looks and allowed others to ridicule her, and she knows it.

Aldo, on the other hand, has been nothing but supportive. She has a damaged self image so of course it's difficult for her to trust Fernando again. Also, she has loyalty to Aldo which is admirable. Not that I think she will or should choose Aldo over Fernando, but her hesitance and confusion is natural, I think.

My sister and I were talking about the last two episodes and she said she really enjoyed them because it has been so long since Fernando was happy. How true and now we have to endure our beloved Don Fernie suffering some more.

I never thought about how selfish it was of Aldo to present the folder to Lety and Fer at that point. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'm hoping that Aldo's dream of Lety being out of reach on the beach is foreshadowing for what is to come.

mab--I loved your point of Aldo's dreams are of himself. Speaks volumes doesn't it.
 

Speaking of Lety's braid, I saw an amazing thing on YouTube where they showed how they made up Angelica Vale to be Lety. They applied gobs of thick black tarry gook to her hair to slick it down. They also showed how they penciled in the mustache. But stay away from YouTube if you don't want to catch inadvertent spoilers.
 

Let's see the charming Aldo sells all his worldly goods to pay off the Conceptos debt so Lety will be free to go live in a hovel on the beach with him. At the same time he sticks it to the Mendiolas big time since the debt now becomes a personal not business one that they owe him. So while the Mendiola's struggle at Conceptos to pay him back he and Lety will be living on money earned with the pain and suffering of Fern's family. What a nice guy! NOT

I also wonder how Erasmo will react to this ploy since i doubt he will think that Lety has done the honorable thing to help clear up the debt that she is partly responsible for.

Hmm, I'll check into the french thing and the restaurant deal, but as far as I remember, she's always had very well manicured nails. Maybe they weren't always exactly french, but they were always some sort of very nice neutral polish at least. Still not what I would wear if I had Lety's persona with hair bobbles and Moty handbags and her neantherthal neighbor's Century 21 uniform to borrow.
 

Oh and I meant shrew in a good way, hence "good shrew." Kudos for Mar to actually having some business sense about this whole thing. I'd have been as cynical for sure, but I probably would have chased down Aldo and get this - asked him. She's so good at Fer interrogation, she should apply her skills to Aldy and see what she comes up with before obligating her best (sort of) friend to a stalker. [ I love Tommy, but come on, he's a stalker....
 

Why do I hate Aldo? I can say this cause seriously I never crushed on Fer (he is cute..but damn he is dim), so it is not like I have secret dreams that Jamie Camil will realize he loves me and carry me away...Now if Demian still wants to blow stuff...hey I'm in...but about Aldo...

I have always thought he was so phony, I mean he was gushing all over anyone who could get him closer to Lety, seriously how come he never treated Marcia like that? I mean she was civil enough to him. What about the Fer's parents? He is nice to people who can help him get what he wants...Tomas, Luigi...whatever it has always been about him and what he wants, the whole project set up was such a joke. I never like the type that your parents would say "What a fine young man". Yeah I have issues.

Now for the Aldo hate in Mexico..I think lots of it had to do with crushing on Fernando.

these are the same scatty friends you are attracted to
then there are the ones who accuse you point blank of having been left by the gypsies
(usually this happens when you type up your shorthand that should have been lien, as lean - usually the afternoon of the holiday party)

(these particular friends got as convinced as you are)

i think everyone is being hard on aldo, though i myself do not like him much.

but think about it- he left for what? a day!? and that's all it took for lety to flip back into fernandoland.

aldo comes back all happy and triumphant and he sees them kissing.

i'd be mad, too! in fact, i'd probably throw down that maldita folder.

I am really sorry that some of us are leaving and are fed up with the current mess.
It's been fun and I think we have had a great group!
I will stick it out to the very end because I know that after that the void that is left will be hard to bear!
I still love the Fern/mask idea! Talking would be a dream come true!!
I guess I'm lucky that my husband is both a good sport and as crazy as I am (he'd be glad to go along with it)!!!!
