No Friday Cuidado recap? Anyone want to discuss the show?

So, on Friday, Marichuy was terrified that she had killed Amador. Rocio went to check out the situation, and Amador demanded to see Mari or else he would report the attack to the police. She went, and after a very melodramatic unbandaging, he discovered he cannot see (I suspect he may be faking. His apology was over the top and I think he's just trying to suck Mari in so he can attack her again).

Stef tried to ingratiate herself to Mari. She wants Mari to tell her what the nightmares are about, undoubtedly so that she can use that information to terrorize her. Also, she spent time looking up synonyms for "orphan" to tease Mari with, and we learned that she's a slow reader.

Patricio continued to be mean to Marichuy.

We met Elsa's parents, and they are super-annoying in a funny way, and really want her to marry Eduardo. She rolled her eyes at them.

JM and Eduardo are on their way home.

What else?

Thank you so much, Julia! I goofed up my taping for Friday and didn't get to see the show, so I was still dying to know if Mari had killed Amador by mistake.

Any details would be much appreciated.

He was totally grovelling, begging Mari to forgive him, etc. Vicente was totally disgusted with him and couldn't believe Amador had the gall to want her to come over. Then there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth when he said he couldn't see, and Mari is all traumatized.

Vicente is becoming more and more a sympathetic character to me. He's stuck in a difficult place here--needing to take care of his injured friend, while at the same time he is very angry at said friend for what he's done.

Oh, also...Beatriz apparently swallowed a bunch of sleeping pills because she is so depressed about Amador not loving her (count your blessings, honey!)...anyway, two of the other artsy-crowd people whose names I can't remember found her. Her home is very cool. It's in an old church or something, with big stained-glass windows. I love the sets on this show.

In other news, Stef told Mari she could come to the airport with her when Juan Miguel returns. That's good, Mari can use a good laugh.

I don't remember much. But I think Vicente looks just like Vincent from Entourage.

Thanks again, Julia! I'm glad Amador copped to it and didn't say it was Mari who attacked him.

Hello to anyone that is trying to remember what happened on Friday!

I have lots of thoughts about this show.

1. Why is Marichuy not getting any help like counseling or guidance or education to teach her not to steal and other crimes she did- I thought she was pick by Juan Miguel and judge as part of the program they discuss in the beginning of this series? I think this is unusual. In reality, there is no place or program like this. But what did I expected? Telenovellas.

2. Juan Miguel is a psychiatrist- yes; he shouldn't be thinking romantic thoughts about his clients. Marichuy is a client- this is what I see. Here is USA, a psychiatist, counselor, or social worker can't be romantically involved with their clients. This part of the code of ethnics for their profession. I know this because I am a social worker.
I keep telling myself that this is just a ahow, but maybe in Mexico it is different.

I strongly dislike those two frauds (named for Estefania and Isabela)and also Patricio. I don't like his expression. He just looks mean and unpleasant all the time.

My feeling is that Marichuy should just escape or run away from that place where everyone except Cecilia & young maid are nice and welcoming. PERSONALLY I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE THERE IN THE JUDGE'S HOUSE.

I like Rocio, though. She is mature. How old is she? By the way, how old is Juan Miguel?

Please anyone comment on what I asked. I will try to comment on it tomorrow if I don't get any response. Thanks!

Genevieve, yes, I agree that it is inappropriate for a shrink/social worker to get involved with his clients, but we're still not at all sure what this program is that he's got going with Marichuy. So far he has spent NO time doing any sort of therapy or anything with her. Maybe he decided to just take her on as a friend? At any rate, professional ethics never apply in telenovelas. The doctors in some shows do much, much worse things!

Juan Miguel is 26 or 27...we know this because Eduardo asked him how old Marichuy is, and he said "she's 6 or 7 years younger than us" and we know she's about 20. I don't think we know how old Rocio is but I assume she's younger than Juan Miguel and probably around Mari's age...she's still in school.

I understand Genevieve's concern about JM and Mari but as Julia said men in positions of power falling in love with their subordinates happens so often in novelas it can be unnerving. I've learned to over look this unfortunate plot device.

My distress comes from the fact that Mari can't talk to anyone (that might have a little wisdom or common sense) about her situation with Amador. Even if Vicente would come clean.... Amador's a rapist waiting to happen. I know this type of character is common in novelas but they are just wretched.

And Patricio is awful as well. I can't wait to see him humbled when Mari's true identity is revealed.

Sorry---I finally got the recap posted. Is their anyway to link this posting to my recap?
