Fuego, Feb 18 redux ("Here, Just Drink This.") AND Feb 19, in which the evil lovebirds gasp their last.

Uh-oh, folks - I'm posting this for Melissa, who sent it to me adding: Sorry if this is short, I’m getting ready to leave for Mexico City in the morning. Not sure what are the previews -- I watched on You Tube. However, she recapped the wrong episode by accident I got home for the last ten minutes - I'll put what I saw at the end of this recap...

I've moved a seat-of-the-pants recap Ibarramedia kindly left us in the comments) to the bottom of this post. Thanks, Ibarramedia!

Feo is hiding in front of the Doble E, but starts shooting and Juan and Oscar. Rosendo breaks down the door of the cabana, and the Doc, Rosendo and the three sisters find Gabriela lying on the floor in front of the coffin with her eyes open – they think she’s dead. The girls are screaming and crying for their Mamita, who hated. The shoot-out at the Not-So-OK Corral continues. Feo has a gun with never-ending bullets – the boys use rifles. Rosendo tells the boys the vieja (old lady) is dead.

Sarita and Jimena are inconsolable, Sofia tells Gabriela Acevedo to rest in peace. Sarita starts blaming the three of them for killing their mother. More crying.

Feo shoots a few more bullets then starts running down the path – Juan and Capricho run after him.

In the kitchen at the Doble R, Eva is catching Horty, Quinto and Eugenia up on how Sofia knows that she’s her mother. Fatima comes running in crying, and tells them Crabs is dead. Fatima was treated so poorly, could they be tears of joy?

The three couples are in the office at the Doble E (minus the 2 E’s). The boys still want justice for Feo. The girls say that Crabs lost her mind at the end. Sarita tells them that Fatima told her that Crabs left the big house with suitcases, but didn’t take any of her personal things. Sarita wonders out loud, what could possibly be in those suitcases? It’s so mysterious and weird. Jimena says it’s almost like Gabs planned her own death.

Out on the road, Feo attacks some random guy and takes off on his horse; translation: Mexican carjacking.

Eva shows up to console the girls – more crying. Eva tells the girls she loves them and that all three of them are her daughters. Doc Too Little Too Late comes in and says Sofia found a letter inside the coffin. Franco pulls Oscar aside and says he’s worried about Juan, out there alone chasing Feo.

Back at the Barranca of Libia’s death, Feo calls out for Juan, but when Juan sees him Feo pulls a gun on him. Feo says isn’t it curious how they’ve met up in Libia’s favorite place, the exact place where he killed Libia? Juan goes after him, but Feo shoots him in the arm. Feo kicks Juan and tells him how he’s killed everyone that’s ever gotten in his way. He tells Juan to prepare to die, and holds the pistol to Juan’s head – he pulls the trigger and nothing! No more bullets! The fight is on! Punching, choking, etc. Juan finally gets the better of Feo and like a crazy man holds Feo’s head under the water repeatedly until he thinks Feo is dead. Mighty Joe Juan Screams like a wounded animal! Libia! Libia! Out of nowhere Feo’s one-eyed helper shows up and hits Juan over the head – Juan falls unconscious. The guy helps Feo out of the water, Feo loves his new BFF for saving him. Feo picks up a shovel and brings it high over his head to finally deliver one last blow to kill Juan. The trumpets blare! Do doo dooooo! Officer Mutton Chops has arrived!!! He shoots at Feo but the bullet ricochets off the scoop of the shovel! Feo turns and sees the all the men, including Oscar, with their guns pointed at them – he says they’ll never find him and runs off into the night. Why didn’t they just shoot him????

Sofia starts reading the letter containing Gabi’s last wishes. Gabi wants no wake, and wants to be buried this very same night in the cemetery in the pueblo. She doesn’t want any changes to anything. It has to be just the way she’s written. The all agree to comply with her wishes, including Pad Tad. Jimena and Sarita are still crying.

Oscar, Juan and Mutton Chops come into the kitchen. They tell Franco that Feo got away, Juan has a superficial bullet wound, but his head hurts (Oh that Juan, he must’ve been thinking again!) Mutton Chops says all roads are being watched.

Feo’s changing into some spiffy new Mariachi duds that One-Eyed BFF has brought him. Feo tells him that if the damn gun hadn’t run out of bullets everything would have been different. BFF hands him a new coat and tells him if he hadn’t shown up in time Feo would have been dead. He also gives Feo a new gun with lots of extra ammo. Feo is so happy with his BFF I think he might want to kiss him. Feo tells him he’ll be very well compensated, but he has one more thing to take care of – Gabriela Acevedo’s last wishes.

We’re at the funeral in the church. Eva thinks to herself she’s forgiven Gabriela even though Gabi never forgave her, and hopes that G-d forgives Gabriela also. The girls continue to cry. Juan shows up and stands over the coffin. He says he and Gabi always hated each other, but once he and his brothers met her daughters they forgot about vengeance, but they still hated Gabriela more and more each day. He says she was responsible for the deaths of his parents and sister, Gabi never loved anyone, not even her daughters and that’s why she died alone and despised by everyone. He tells her he doesn’t hope she rests in peace, he says he’ll leave it up to G-d to give her what she deserves.

At the cemetery the black crow caws. They lower the coffin into the ground. Sarita and Jimena continue to cry. Feo watches from afar. They each throw a handful of dirt onto the coffin. Pad thinks to himself how Gabriela went without reconciling with G-d or her daughters. He asks G-d to forgive him for not being able to help Crabs. Feo’s BFF and the black crow watch from afar also. Pad prays.

Daybreak in Ciduad Serdan, and Sofia and Eva are walking through the Hacienda Minus Doble E. Sofia says she wants to go see her daughters, but Eva tells her there’s no rush, they’re well taken care of. By now the nuns are probably thinking they should’ve just gotten married and had sex if they were going to get stuck taking care of three rugrats all the time anyway! Sofia tells Eva she doesn’t ever want to be separated from Eva again. Ruh Roh. This is a bad sign. They get in the black SUV and Rosendo is taking them to the Hacienda Doble R, but there’s some sheep in the way. Rosendo gets out of the truck to shoo away the sheep when Feo comes up with a gun and konks Rosendo over the head, knocking him out. Feo comes over to the SUV with his gun and pulls Slofia and Eva out of the truck. Stupidfia, who should’ve locked the doors and jumped into the driver’s seat, offers Feo her bag, if it’s the money he wants. He says he doesn’t want her stupid money, he wants her! Eva says, “Yeah, over my dead body!” and Feo says, “Oh yeah!” and he shoots Eva in what looks like her heart, but she’s still alive. Sofia is holding her while Feo watches. Feo grabs Slofia and she tries to pull away but Feo konks her over the head and knocks her out also, while Eva screams don’t take her. Cut to Telepathic Juan, who tells Capricho that Sofia is in danger. Rosendo finally wakes up and rushes to Eva, she tells him what happened. Juan rides up, finds out what happened, and rides off to chase down the SUV. Capricho is going for the Triple Crown.

Feo is putting Sofia in the back of a wagon covered in black cloth. Juan continues the chase. Feo has taken Sofia to his little hideaway and she wakes up and remembers what happened. Feo restrains her. He tells her she’ll never see her mother again, she’s dead.

Cut to Eva in the dispensario. Rosendo says it’s all his fault. Doc says they’ll try to save her. Pad asks the statue of Jesus when will Feo stop hurting people, when?

Feo tells Sofia that everything is her fault. If she hadn’t despised him, none of this would have happened. He says he loved her. She says he doesn’t know how to love, only to hurt. She says she never felt anything for him, this really pisses him off. He says he knows how to love, and tonight he’s going to show her. She says no way, Juan will come and save her before that. Feo says Juan will never come between them again. – he tries to kiss her. Yuck.

Back in the Doble R kitchen, Juan is frustrated because he can’t find Sofia. Everyone gives him a pep talk and out the door they go again to search. Quinti is going to go and pray. Juan tells them about Eva.

Sarita and Jimena have come to see Eva. They tell her they need her, especially now. She has to be strong and recover.

Nightime. The Coffin Cam shows Crabs still resting peacefully, hands folded across her chest.

So anyway - I turned on the tv about 9:50 and saw:

  • Juan had Fern (who had a very white bristly stubble all over his face) cornered under a tree and he aimed his gun at him, but Fern shot himself. Juan shot in the air many times in frustration. His brothers came. They discussed that fact that Fern was, yes, say it in unison, "bien muerto."
  • Gabriela woke up in her coffin. She did not beat on the lid as I hoped, but she gasped a lot and called for Fern, but Fern did not come to let her out because he was "bien muerto." She gasped and gasped.
  • Eva is fine, in her hospital bed, there was a love fest around her bed.
  • Then the happy couples all promised each other that they would be happy forever. How anybody can ever say that with a straight face I dunno.

and Ibarramedia wrote:

Oh noes, that is from yesterday. I'm guessing Melinama wrote in red.

I guess I will try to do this from my head. I will need a lot of help to fill in the blanks and I apologize in advance for typos since i'm not a fast typer and may not see the errors in my haste to get this done. Please don't mock my rough translation. I'm not that fluent yet. Here goes:

In the shed Fernando confesses to the murder of Don Bernanrdo. He says that it was an accident, but he provoked him and grabbed the steed by its reins.

He confessed to killing Armando and Rosario. we see a flashback of him shooting Rosario. He says it was stupid of her to be nosing around his safe and helping Juan Reyes. Fernando says he shot Eva,but we know that already. Sofia asks how is my Mama? How is my Mama?

At the dispensario, Eva is in bed being visited by the 2 sets of lovebirds.

Meanwhile, Sofia keeps asking how her Mama is. She yells at Fernando and demands him to answer her. Juan rides Capricho into the cemetery. Sofia yells at Fernando, I hate you!!!, I hate you!!! Damn you! Let me go! Let me go! Fernando tries to kiss Sofia but she resists and bites his tongue instead. Fernando spits out blood in disgust and leaves very pissed off. Sofia weeps helplessly.

Juan visits Gabriela's grave and yells at Gabriela from the beyond. Blood of my sister! where is Sofia? Damn you where is sofia? He demands to know where she is and although she is dead, thinks she is behind all this. He condemns her and rides off.

Nightfall comes signified by the full moon. Sofia pleads Fernando not to touch her. Fernando confesses to killing Ruth. Flashback to her murder. A marvellous and passionate death says Fernando. He killed her while making love to her.

Sofia exclaims that Fernando is a sick man. He is very disguting and repulsive. She is repulsed by his presence because he is morally repugnant.

Meanwhile, Juan is at the tomb of Libia. He is seen talking to himself, then a methaphorical lightbulb clicks and he realizes that Sofia is still alive and that he can feel it. Use the force and follow your heart.

Eva miraculously goes to mass accompanied by Sarita and Jimena. I'm in love with Sarita's legs. Eva is able to stand up, walk and kneel down before Padre Tadeo.

Fernando unties Sofia. I think he says that he will pleasure himself with her then kill her later. She again pleads Fernando to let her go. He tells her to shut up.

Juan finds them in the shed and a struggle ensues between Juan and Fernando. The one eyed undertaker, the sepulterero slugs Juan from behind while he had Fernando in a choke hold. Juan beats him up while Fernando makes his escape. He climbs on top of the crypt and thought bubbles that the sepulterero is an idiot after seeing Juan get away. He shoots at Juan and the Reyes Brothers Franco captures the sepulterero and leaves to take him to the commisario. Juan asks Oscar to take Sofia to Eva.

Eva is sick and weak again. She is back at the dispensario. Dr. Montez gets rid of Sarita and Jimena and he tries to revive Eva. Moments later, Sofia arrives but the dr. has given up hope and throws up his arms in resignation.

Sofia asks her true mother to answer her. she refuses to have her leave her. Eva opens her eyes and miraculously lives again. She asks are you really here? Another day has come and gone. Nightfall turns to dusk. Cut to Gabriela twitching her fingers amidst the sounds of heartbeats beating. Sofia consoles unibrow baby. (I think that is her real daughter. Both Sofia and Adela's)

The sepulterero is dropped off and he quickly escapes and drives off in the truck of the commisario and dumb and dumber. All three are worse than the 3 stooges at this point.

It is daybreak and Gabriela begins to be revived. Juan and Fernando have been fighting all night long. I swear those two lasts much longer than Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya would in a fight. They even have stronger stamina than Lance Armstrong and Michel Phelps. More than 12 hours of fighting and running overnight would kill a normal human being. But these guys seem to have superhuman endurance. The battle carries over to a passing train. The back and forth continues through different cars in the locomotive with neither man gaining a true advantage.

Sofia prays to the Virgin Mary de Guadalupe to protect Juan. Juan and Fernando get off the train and he corners Fernando who stand in front of a tree with an 'F' branded into it. Juan seems to smile or grin. In his dying declaration, Fernando says you won't be lucky enough or strong enough to take Fernando Escandon alive. Fernando points the gun under his chin and commmits suicide.

Juan angrily runs to Fernando's corpse yelling you damn dog!,You damn dog! you denied me justice. Then fires his pistol in the air twice. Oscar and Franco try to calm him down as Juan grabs Fernando's corpse and screams you damn dog!

We shift to coffin cam and we see Gabriela reviving and asking where she is. She calls out to Fernando and starts to panic. the commisario of the town arrive with Padre Tadeo and dumb and dumber at the place where Fernado committed suicide and confirm that he is indeed dead.

The three brothers arrive at the hospital and notify their fiancees that Fernando is dead. The threat is over. He commited suicide rather than be captured alive. Juan asks sofia how Eva is. Sofia says that she is getting better thank God. Eva pledges her eternal gratitude to Juan for saving her daughter. She asks what happened to fernando. They say he is dead. And they don't have to worry about him anymore.

Gabriela still cries out for Fernando and in desperation, quickly uses up what little oxygen she had left. She later dies asphyxiated within the coffin. Descanse en Paz Dona Gabriela Acevedo de Elizondo. The sepulterero is supposed to be digging her out to get the money. He is just standing there.

The Reyes brothers go to Libia's tomb and tell her that Fernando is dead and God will mete out justice to him. The three promise to be together always.

Sofia, Sarita,Jimena and Juan,Oscar and Jimena pledge their eternal, undying and unconditional love for each other in their own rooms while making love to their respective partners. Oscar and Jimena are seen without their clothes save for their trademark boots during a passionate time in bed.

I guess we'll never know where Ruth is until somebody stumbles on her dead body.

LOL @ Gabriela screaming that Fernando betrayed her and calling for him. Sorry sista, he won't be coming for you ever again. At least not from above.

Loved the special blood effects of Fernando shooting himself. Especially the blood that splattered BEFORE the gun went off.

Will the policia ever find ol' One eye? Do the police have more than one truck?

HA ! The coffin cam....good one.

I just went to youtube and Melissa's post is for cap. 204&205 which aired in the US yesterday Wednesday night NOT TONIGHT.

TONIGHT THURSDAY in the US the first hour of the finale was aired which is why the last 10 minutes you saw ended as they did. No one recapped the first 50 minutes of the finale. If you go to youtube it is marked FELS FINAL and the first hour is parts 1-5. Parts 6-10 air tomorrow FRIDAY.

Not quite sure what night Nickster's recap corresponded to but Melissa's was definitely for last night caps 204-205.
THIS WEEK IN THE US, the caps were Monday 200&201, Tuesday 202&203, Wed. 204 &205, Thurs first hour of the Grand Finale, Friday second and final hour of the Grand Finale. I'll have to go back and see who recapped based on wrong youtube chapters instead of seeing what corresponded to the US airdates.

Melinama, just figured it out both Nickster AND Melissa recapped caps 204 &205 -- they just emphasized different plot points and have totally different ways of describing things.

NO ONE did a recap of tonight/Thursday's episode which was the first hour of the Grand Finale (well you did the last 10 minutes). If you go to youtube, FELESNOVELAS, the finale is in 10 parts, the first 5 aired in the US tonight and parts 6-10 will air tomorrow.

UNTIL a more detailed recaps comes along:

-- Fernando has Sofia hostage and keeps confessing all his dasterdly deeds, ie.e. killing her father, Libia, Rosario and raping her. He keeps telling her that tonights she'll be his before he gets to kill her to make Juan suffer.

-- Eva gets off her deathbed to go to the chapel to pray where all have gathered.

-- Juan finally finds Sofia and fights with Fernando nearly beating him until Fernando's acid face helper hits Juan and Fernando is able to escape as Franco and Oscar ride in to help. Juan gets the acid victim and hands him over to Franco to turn over to the authories, he instructs Oscar to take Sofia to see her mom and he rides off after Fernando. When Franco hands him over to the police and rides off the guy is able to escape from the police.

-- Sofia gets to a dying Eva but sure enough starts to improve in her presence.

--Juan and Fernando battle some more and finally take the battle for an extended fight sequence on a moving train.

--Juan and Fernando finally are face to face on the ground both with guns when suddenly Fernando says "No One is stronger than Fernando Escandon" and points his gun to his neck and kills himself.

-- the last 10 min are what Melinama wrote.

Sorry for all the typos in my 2 posts. I was tired but wanted to clear things up for latenight readers.

Thanks very much Anon 12:11. We appreciate.
Note that Acid Face escaped the police almost immediately after Juan handed him over, and he stole a white SUV and drove off.
Maybe he will go back and dig Crabi up?
Why else would they bother showing him escaping?
Maybe Feo whispered the secret of where Root is reposing to Acid Face?
Ever hopeful,

That is what i said when i started writing my Recap. Took me 3 hours to do that.

In Mexico, this aired as a 2 parter with the first part being the capitulo we saw tonight. They aried the 2 parts as a 2 hour feature.

Nick breezed thorugh his while Melissa was a bit more detailed. Then Melinama added the last part of tonight's episode. So it confused me for a while till I realized what had happened.

Forgot to sign myself.

Thanks Ibarramedia. I just read your recap and I thought it was great and you even managed to complete it from memory not a recording. You cleared up some points for me ...I didn't notice that the sepulterero had returned back to Crabi's grave and I didn't realize she had actually croaked. I thought she would have a final heart attack but I guess she ran out of O2 which is actually a much worse way to go. I enjoyed the snark. Yes, can the Comissario and Dumb and Dumber be any more inept. Bodas manana, FINALLY! GinCA

Ibarramedia~~~Thanks for coming to the rescue with that detailed recap. Great job !!! I had a phone call , so I only watched the action. I felt that Fernando's demise was very anticlimactic. The writers could at least have had him tumble under the train wheels. Que lastima. I guess killing was Ferd's trademark, so in the end, he even killed himself. And I think that we will never be told where Root rests , so we'll just have to make up our own answer to that question. Ferd was hanging around Libia's tomb, so maybe he buried her there. On to the triple wedding and happy happiness para siempre.

P.S. How much do you want to bet that all three brides are pregnant ? Here come the brides !

What's shakin', me hardies?

Yeppers, it's me, peeking my wee head in after some long months of having to wrangle a short novel into shape. I didn't miss the show that much, but did miss all of you, and I would have popped in earlier this week, but my uncle took ill suddenly and passed away. :( :( I'm glad I could catch up with the story in time to share the Gran Final with y'all; we've been through too much hell with this show for me to dare miss that, eh?

Thanks for the murder list and recapping, Ibarramedia. Hi, mom Melinama. :)

Fernando's death was fricking GREAT. It wouldn't have hurt to let Juan kick the corpse around a couple of times, though. It would've made him feel a little better, and I doubt Feo would have minded.

Crabby's method of demise was so blasted appropriate, I had to stand up and salute. This was the one thing the writers did right during the entire run. I was so pleased, I actually forgave them for dragging the Feo/Juan slugfest over state and county lines, and having Juan continually finding fugitive Feo on his own every five minutes, rather than with the other brothers. I mean, really.

I about blew a gasket the other day when Eva got shot. I mean, REALLY. Was that necessary, after at least half a dozen people (including ALL the Uribes) got offed last week alone?? Dag.

I kept thinking Juan and Feo would freeze in their tracks and gawk at that awfully modern-looking locomotive as if it were something scary and foreign, after living for so long in ancient Mexiloon where such things don't exist. "Wh-what is that thing? Will it eat us? Run!" LOL

Coffin Cam! ROFL

Well, tomorrow's it, folks. Can't come soon enough for me. I'm still pissed about Gramps. :(

Ibarramedia - thank you for your pinch-hitter recrap. You did a good job!

Melissa - although your recrap was foiled by the Looneyvision editing and changes from original Telerisa, I want to thank you for all the recapping you've done for us in Mexiloon. They've been fun to read and wonderfully snarky.

BBQSteph - I have missed you. In fact, just last week I was wondering whatever happened to you. Good to see you dropping in with your hysterical snarky comments. ;-)

Can't wait to watch my tape and thanking God for the FFWD--> button.

I usually mourn the end of a telenovela, don't want to start a new one, etc. The usual process. However . . . with FELS, I can't wait for the Por Fin and beginning of a new one. Hmmmm. . . . . I wonder why? (NOT!!!)

I hope I'll see all of you over at MEPS-land where mañana es (wait for it...) PARA SIEMPRE!!! Aaack.

Coffin cam . . . luvin' it!

Thanks for the recaps and comments everyone.

Doesn't appear Ruth's remains will be discovered. She deserved a proper burial.

Weddings tonight. It will be a nice reprieve from all of the deaths the past few weeks. Diana in MA.

Wow, that was a bizarre ending for Feo. No big surprises for Crabs (no sympathy either, I might add) but the meandering slug fest that went over hill & dale was in keeping with the FELS time/space continuum. Was I hallucinating or did Feo off himself under the fabled RR tree?? So the train apparently went nowhere, much like this TN.

Glad it's over. Who cares what happens tonight...we all know how sappy & tear-filled it will be. "Para Siempre" ad nauseum.

Fernando Colunga, ayudeme!!!!!!!!!

Undercover Maggarita
:-)

p.s. apologies! I forgot to thank Ibarramedia & the recrappers who can now reclaim their official title of Recappers now that the crapfest is over.

Was that the idea, the sepultero would get money when he dug up Gabriela?

And didn't Juan have this revelation that Gabi was not dead, that it was all planned?

Fer told Sofía that he killed Ruth, but what a pleasure filled night it was & that the same thing would happen with Sofía. He didn't say where her body was.

I loved it when Juan chasing after Fer, lost his sombrero & stopped to pick it up.

And what's this with Oscar & Jimena in bed with their boots on again?

Ibarramedia, what a nice job of jumping in and providing us with a recap. Good work! You get the award for Best Recap by a Nonrecapper (although in reality, by definition you are now actually a recapper) In any event, you valiantly rose to the occasion. Thanks.

Great recaps--- coffin cam. too creepy. I am nominating this episode as the worst edited -- what the hell-- I could barely follow Fearnando in his interactions with Slofia. I guess he kept popping in and out and how come Slofia could not escape?? Gravity works funny in Mexiloon. And didn't the commercial breaks just come at the wrong moments? No build up, no "oh-no" moment.... no breath, no visual comma. But I will say that the fight scene on the train was just a brilliant idea. badly executed. brilliant idea.

If nothing else, FELS is consistent. The absurdities continue to the end. Couldn't Eva, at death's door, have used a wheelchair instead of walking down to the altar or did Oscar take the only dispensario wheelchair. Or, any of the men could have carried her. Juan and Feo's hilarious endless train hopping battle was completely bizarre and out of nowhere. They definitely are the worst shots on the planet. Sofia was remarkably able to move that heavy granite pillar, she was leaning against, back and forth. FELS has been a unique experience to say the least. GinCA

Ibarramedia- excellent from memory recap! Absolutely yeoman's duty! Even mentioned little sides, like Sariat's legs, Juan's hat, and Unibrow being Adela's baby- could be. Anyway, not any filling-in needed, as far as I can see.
Kind of a strung-out chase scene, running, horses, train-top- WHEW! Notice the flat cars with just a few strategically placed hay bales? Feo's brain splattering was anticlimactic, and funny, the timing being off. Eva going to church under her own power- yeah, right, she was given up for dead due to lack of blood? The seputaro escape- Serdan is THE PLACE to be placed under arrest in Mexico, it's just pretend, and so easy to slip away, they even give you a vehicle. Then, he shows up in braod daylight to dig up Crabi? I'm wondering if they might catch him at the scene, he talks, and they dig, only to find her dead, and maybe the pesos too. The real (anti)climax, tonight, the triple wedding that we've seen coming since the start of this trainwreck- how long has it been?

I am so glad this novela over. Like someone said earlier, who cares what happens tonight? Early on I used to defend it and wrote comments complaining about others not allowing some of us to enjoy it. It didn't take long for me to see that it deserved all the snark. However, by that time I was addicted and tuned in and read comments faithfully only to end up frustrated and stressed out. Please God, the next one has to be better, I can't go through another FELS.

I thought the fight/chase scene on the train was priceless. Juan would pause for a moment each time Fernando would jump from one car to the next,in sort of a Gastón/ Alphonse way, and then furtively reach for Fernando's foot. I thought (hoped) for a moment before the train arrived that F would splat across the front of the engine , ala Wile E. Coyote. His death, overall, was satisfying although I found myself shouting ¡NO! just before Juan.

I'm still not so certain that we are completely done with Gabriella, though there's not much time left and we still have a wedding (weddings?) to attend.

Before we all get cpmpletely overcome with all the tears of happiness and para siempres I need to express my deep appreciation to all the recappers who have endured through this saga. What has been so impressive, in addition to the translation and writing, is that the recaps appear so promptly. And that from volunteers! Any of you lurkers out there reading this, join in with your thanks. It would be a great way to morph from lurker to commentor. It's easy to do.

The recaps have helped my Spanish improve and I have been able to have short conversations with the nietos and they understand me and don't laugh at my accent. Even though they are at the age where they answer in English, it is still special. I hope to be able to accompany them to Spain some day when they visit relatives and enjoy being able to join in the festivities without always asking for a translation. Caray has really helped move that ambition along. Muchas gracias a todos.

I'm going to give manana a try but it looks so much like.. what is the word... a soap opera. I think I will miss the acting skill of the FELS principals. Not only that, but I don't see where horses are used for transportation and sombreros are worn (by the principals) as a matter of custom in the previews for manana. Too much Duncan Rinaldo as a kid.

Adios to FELS

Just thought I'd stop by and tell you that Cristina will be doing her "after show" for FELS from the Elizondo hacienda set in Mexico. Jorge, Eduardo, Pablo, Elizabeth and Nora will be part of the show as well as Salvador Mejia. For more information and photos of the program, go to Cristina's website.

Jody :)

What should I do with my beanie: burn it, bury it (alive), sell it on ebay or keep it for the next E Y novela. Don't need it for another Mejia project as I think I have learned my lesson. GinCA

Did anyone else see that? The train grew as they fought. There were like 5-6 cars when they jumped on and it doubled in size in some of the later scenes.

Talking about beanies, thought it somewhat funny in one of the fight scenes, Juan had to reach down and put his beanie on before going after Feo.

I still don't know if Gabi is completely dead yet or not. I'm thinking that ol' one eye will dig her up and open up the casket. She'll then wake up and poke out his one good eye. :-)

Ibarramedia - great recap, and from memory, fantastic!

I actually thought most of this episode was a bit boring, the long, drawn out scenes with Sofia begging Feo not to hurt her, the endless fight between Juan and Feo, but at least it's over tonight.

Did anyone notice that while Juan and Feo were fighting all night, Oscar and Franco were standing in one spot (guarding the hacienda?) without moving an inch until morning, when they sort of woke up out of their stupor?!

I'm also not totally convinced Crabi is dead (I mean, she was in that coffin for about two days before she even moved her finger, right?). So maybe the cemetery guy will still dig her up. We probably haven't heard the last of him (although if we have, it wouldn't be a total surprise, as probably 10 other loose ends will never be resolved).

And Eva, first she's just about dead, then she walking into the church, then she's back in bed dying again, with that dumb machine beeping, and the doctor shaking his head. And of course, Sofia's pleading gives us another miracle!

Can't wait for tonight.

Do we actually know for certain she's dead?
My daughter is funny, she hasn't watched that much of the show, but this last week she's put everything on hold for it. She was screaming at the TV last night and we were both wondering why these people can't make a shot connect and how they kept their hats on. Juan is such a bumbling hero. Instead of being out looking for her, he's busy talking to all of the dead people. Too funny. Thanks for all the recap info to all of you.

Thank you each and every recrapper including Ibarramedia. I have loved every minute of the good, bad and ugly of this novella. Don't laugh but I now have six 3" binders with recraps. I talked several friends into watching this show (it sure beats network programming). Some do not speak any Spanish and some do not have a computer or want one so I have printed the recraps and about once a week we have lunch and go over the past weeks episodes - it has been great fun.

Ibarramedia, where did you find the DVD to order?

Thanks again to each and everyone of you and of course to the bloggers with all of their witty comments and observations.

I didn't think I saw Gabriela actually croak. The one eyed undertaker has plans to dig her up to get the money, I also understood Juan to say at Libia's tomb, that he realized Gabriela's death was planned by Feo and Gabi, that's why he was hanging around waiting for something to happen, so he got one moment in this story of synapses firing and actually figuring somthing out, we are down to the wire, we don't have months for this to ricochet around in the Juan-a-brain! (or maybe it was because he was standing in front of the magic Libia Sparkle Flower)

I'm thinking Gabi may be dis-interred tonight.

Thanks for the team effort on the recap!

I got it! Crabi gets dug up- she's alive. Her near-death has transformed her into the loving mother/stepmpther that she should have always been, attends the 3x wedding, all is well in Serdan.

Cuidado- the light at the end of the tunnel just might be a locomotive's headlight.

Ibarramedia, Thank you, thank you for coming to the rescue. I count myself among the first people to think you should break into recapping and wow, do I love to be right!! Great job. Was this really your first? I can't remember if you have done another. We are all indebted to you. I vote that you do more, either substituting when you can or taking a regular spot. You are just fabulous, well we knew that already from your astute comments and incomparable list making abilities.

I loved the insanity of this episode and like Jeff in MN pointed out the growing train was a modern marvel of engineering that only Mexidoon is capable of. And that doesn't even pay homage to the miracle of laying the track so close to the dispensary and the hacienda. Funny we never heard the train sounds before, must have been blocked out by the deafening crickets and the dialog obscuring fountains.

I watched this episode on youtube (FELS FINAL 1-5) too, wish they had not cut out some of the interesting dialog and sequences to protect us from I am not sure what. For instance one thing I did not see last night was Feo telling Sofia that he had been her rapist all those many years ago. But at least we know he bragged about doing Ruth in while he was doing Ruth. So bazaar...

My hat (or beanie) is off to Cantú for his acting in the scenes where Sofía is his prisoner. He was totally creepy, even though we of course knew that Sofía would escape unscathed. He confessed to raping her. He gloated over being her first man. Then he said he'd be her last because he was going to kill her after their "night of pleasure". When he confesses these things to her, he giggles maniacally!

I also am not sure the other shoe has dropped with Crabi. Plus, are the weddings going to take the whole hour? They need SOME drama, don't they? I predict the return of Abuelo and Santa.

The train scene was way too long, and it would have been much better to have Feo run over by the train.

That dispensario must really be a good place to be at death's door. So far the only person who's croaked there, that I can remember is Pablito's abuelo.

Forgot earlier, thanks for the wonderful on short notice recap. Ibarramedia, you'll have to get in the mix and do some other recapping.
Elsewhere, Yes, Juan figuring things out. Hard to do when brains are in such short supply down there.
Back with Raquel, for some reason, I kept thinking of her going to see the Wizard(of Soledad) for a brain, but all she got was courage... and well, that didn't turn out well. :-(
Yes, brains in short supply.

Jeff in MN

So it wasn't my imagination? The train really grew?? I couldn't figure out whether some of the cars just weren't visible from other angles, or if they just kept showing up and disappearing... LOL...

Boy, Muttonchops really sucks, doesn't he?

Great job with the impromptu recap, Ibarramedia.

And Melissa, I really loved your take on the other episode - "coffin-cam" and all. :-)

It was important to Feo's self-esteem that nobody could destroy him except Feo himself. :) Too bad he got to do the honors.

Glad I'm not the only one who hoped he'd be run over by the magic train.

But then the train would be late, and that would be awful!

Novelera, Thanks for clearing up the rape confession for me. I came home about ten minutes into the episode so must have missed that moment which I had seen on youtube. I just thought they had cut it. He was to the end the junior high twit trying to seek approval and mad because he knows no one cares for him. Makes one wonder what the saintly mother whose name can't be mentioned by Sofia was really like and how she treated him. His esteem issues guided so many of his actions. He seemed compulsive in confessing each of his sins, first in the confessional with PTad then to various characters he needed to dominate especially Sofia. Interesting that he commited the ultimate sin of suicide just so he could get a bigger count on Ibarramedia's list! I think he did break some sort of record.

Loved the blood spirt flying out of the back of his head before the gun blast sounded, Dorado Dave got that one too!

Stefi, I am so glad you have showed up again. Sorry part of your absense was due to family saddness. How is the novel going? I'll be in touch to check up on you. I'm off to walk Willa and Cisco down by the Rio Grande right now, they are totally disgusted with my reading and posting when they want to enjoy the Bosque.

Imbarramedia, thank you that was great! You got it all in there.

I loved Feo taking himself out and I thought it was really funny that they always refer to him with both his first and last names, and he did too right before he killed himself.

Gabi was a creepy Night Gallery kind of end. Ack!

Okay, did anyone watch the commericals for MEPS? I could have sworn they were using one of the FELS haciendas. I hope it doesn't give them brain damage too!

Ibarramedia, you really need to sign up as a recapper, you caught all the subtle plot points.
I've been waiting for Juan's memory to return completely and for him to remember the night his baby was stolen by Feo, but that may never happen.
However, I'm guessing the writers are holding at lease one surprise in store for tonight.
"Creemelo"

Correction: it was Pablito's abuela who died at the dispensario, not his abuelo.

Mil gracias to Ibarramedia, Melinama, and all the commenters for takes on the final. I totally cracked up at the "coffin cam."
I'm thinking Gabi may have one last gasp in her. I didn't really enjoy watching the coffin cam transmissions, too creepy. Creepy also describes Cantu's excellent scenes in the shed with Sofia.
NOT excellent--the endless, useless fight with Juan and Feo. I was baffled by the train that suddenly appeared. We'd never had any indication that it existed. Loved the illogical way the flatcars only half-loaded with bales were inserted into the train. The train fight was just for extra drama, since nothing really happened. I was sure Feo would get smushed under the train. Yeah, nobody's stronger than Fernando...
I have a bottle of sparkling grape juice chilling to salute tonight's weddings. What a long grind this has been, and what fun to share it with all you witty people.

Great recap. Thanks to all of you for your efforts. One thing that has been bothering me since the begining of this novela is that they have never discovered "flashlights." Every time I see them with torches I yell "There is a thing called a flashlight, find one".

Found this great site for MEPS
It looks like the same person that puts the episodes on you-tube, but it goes from one right to the next one.

http://www.buscatv.net/2008/10/capitulos-de-manana-es-para-siempre.html

Cristina probably will have other cast members of FELS on the following week. Gabriela & Fernando are the ones I want to see.

Picabo was excited to see Capricho last night. The dogs don't generally watch FELS, sometimes they do bark at. But when Capricho went running by last night she decided she would watch more.

I was kind of disappointed that Mr. Ed didn't get to stomp Feo into oblivian.

Thanks to everyone who helped recap last night. Things are moving so fast now it can be hard to keep up.

The all night fighting made me think of Gandalf smoting the Balrog's ruin on the mountainside after uncountable days of figthing in Lord of the Rings! The train fight was exciting but I do wish Fernando had fallen under the wheels. The effects on shooting himself were kind of startling, but in the next second Juan was picking him up and yelling at him for not having let Juan kill him, and there was no blood or anything on Fernando's chin or head. When people shoot themselves in the chin, I think they pretty much blow off half their heads.

I didn't get the impression that Gabi had expired yet, either. And it did seem like the grave digger was planning to dig her up and look for the money.

Maybe as a parting gift we should all pitch and buy the town some flashlights! They could use a grant for a shock trauma unit at the dispensario as well, although useless Dr. Montez seems to end up with a lot of miraculous cures using nothing but a stethoscope, something that beeps but isn't connected to anything, and the statue of the Virgencita.

Thank You everyone for the props and Credit. I've been so excited about the ending that I was so focused on all the details. Nothing was going to interrupt me tonight or last night. phones were turned off. And i was glued to the tv.

I began taping the Ultimas Semanas starting with Raquel's death unitl tonight and maybe Monday with Cristina if there is room. And no, I have not watched it yet. So it took 2 8 hour tapes basically. Commercial free.

Those of you asking where to get the DVD, got to ebay and search for Fuego en la sangre dvd.

I want to see if there is a chance Ruth will be found for a decent burial. The poor conflicted girl.

I too laughed at Oscar falling asleep while standing up. I've actually done it before many many years ago. Don't ask. ;)

Dumb and dumber should be fired along with Muttonchops. They are useless. I too noticed the ever changing cars in the train but did not want to get sidetracked and lose my train of thought. No pun intended.

To those who were asking, Fernando was standing in front of a tree that had a 'F' on it and not the RR tree.

Carlos, i'm glad you liked the name Anvil head girl. When i named Sofia's hijas, I named them Unibrow baby,Curly haired baby and Anvil head baby. My favorite though is Unibrow baby.

A lot of you are saying that Gabi might still be alive. Well if she is, then she might be suffering from brain damage because when you are oxygen deprived, it damages your brain before you die..... So if she is rescued from her tomb, she might end up bed ridden or she might have to use a wheel chair and be cared for. i'm in the minority among those who wanted her to die. To me, she needed professional help and was suffering from a lot of pyschosis. Again, i'm not excusing the crimes she has committed and nasty demeanor. And it was not always like that. Otherwise the 3 girls would really be messed up if they were as dysfunctional as they were in the 2-3 year time period in Cerdan.

I wonder if there will be a memorial for the victims. that would be nice. The wedding is no secret. They all wanted to really get married and now is the time. Is there a telenovela that does not end up in a wedding? Just curious... I would like Rosario's version of Espejo be played at the ending credits of Fuego. That might be cool.

Many thanks to the regular recappers throughout the year. That is tremendously difficult to do. I don't know how you all could do it. Much appreciation from me. Love them or hate them, the recappers put in a lot of work in what they did. And if I had to rewind and pause and rewind and translate, it would drive me nut and I would be having sleepless nights. As flattered as i am that most of you want to to step in, I have to respectfully decline. I still need to master speaking, reading and writing spanish. I'm almost there, but not enough to drop me in spain in the middle of nowhere to survive. Lol. I'l fare much better in the UK. ;)

I might be one and done here unless there is another really good period novela. As some of you know, I came here and just discovered telenovelas almost a year ago. I started watching Pasion on it's last week. I did this by accident since I was channel surfing and came across people wearing 18yh century garb.
Almost like saying I discovered Fuego on Monday and now it is about to be over.......

I have to admit, Fuego was addicting. But mostly the girls are so hot that it was hard missing them. :) My favorite male character is Don Agustin. He is a cool dude. And the man with the answers to everything . And he was actually helpful unlike Padre Tadeo who just held on to the information. Most of which were not formally confessed. A big WTF for that.

As has become my usual custom i will see the first episode of a new novela out of curiosity then leave it at that. Who knows if manana is really really good, I might end up following it. You never know.

I too thought that Fernando meet his demise falling from the train and being ran over, then getting beheaded and crushed. I'm a little surprised that he gave up so easily after fighting all night.

Juan and Fernando both had guns drawn that I thought it was going to be a shoot out at the ok corral. Both were in a netral position. Although Juan had drawn his gun. Anyway, I'm glad he is dead. No more troubles for the people of Serdan. If I don't come back, it was great knowing you all.

Variopinta, Felsnovela put them in the playlist that's why it is doing that. It has been that way since Google really took over Fels. When you guys go to check out video clips in youtube, you will probaly notice small slight changes like the wider hd screen and quality of videos and some annoying ads. A lot of copyrighted items have benn removed. Same with music. good thing Fuego is still there.

Almost surprising that Feo still had a bullet left in the gun... And then, what do you know, he could actually hit something he shot at. ;-)

Besides the train, another thing that struck me, they showed Gabi's grave a couple of times. I remember when they were setting in casket, it was huge, like 10-15 feet across. The grave looked to be pretty normal. Another thing with it, one time it had all sort of flowers and things around it (first thought, who would want to put those on her grave! LOL). Later, they showed the/a grave and it was missing all/most of the floral arrangements. Go figure.

Definitely Don Augustin has to return for the wedding(s). Good thing Feo kept confessing to things, now PadTad pretend he never heard them as everyone else will know now. :-)

"I'm going to give manana a try but it looks so much like.. what is the word... a soap opera."
Abuelo P - what do you think telenovelas are? LOL! Thanks for the giggle.

GinCA - Hang on to that telenovela beanie hat. Do not give it to Goodwill, do not recycle it, do not throw it out. You will need it at some point again, while watching a telenovela. Or "Lost."

You really don't need to be close to mastering Spanish to be a recapper. All I had when I started recapping was a 20-year-faded memory of high school Spanish.

Not sayin' I did a great job, especially those overwhelming first few months, but I got the most important stuff, and it forced me to learn a lot faster than I would have otherwise.

With respect to the "family" tree, the initials carved into it were "FR." Not "RR" (which would have made more sense). I think we discussed it at the time and concluded that it stood for "Familia Robles."

I saw only an F on the tree of Feo's doom, but I assumed that it was the same tree, and that we couldn't see the R from that angle.

I agree that MEPS looks soapy, and I might not enjoy it even if I did get to watch it. I was just really excited to see Colunga and Sendel working together.

I'll still have cable for the first week of MEPS, so I'll at least get to see that much.

Julie,
You can keep up with MEPS on that site I posted, commercial free.

Ibarramedia- don't leave us, hang in there for MEPS- give it a try, tha's what I'm gonna do. I guarantee that there are some hotties in EVERY TN, amd the girls get hunks- perfect! FYI, I quickly checked, and Adela has a 11 y/o son, but no mention of a daughter, so I don't think that Unibrow is hers, despite the way the two of them were interacting in last nites episode.
I wonder if Sofia is going to tell Juan that Feo was her rapist, or about his other admissions, or if she will walk down the same path of stupid silence as Pad Tad.
Tonite will be fun to watch, despite the predictable wedding that will take up a lot of time, oh well, i just hope that they throw in something else.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the regular recappers- Julie, Cheryl, Nickster,Melissa, and Jardniera, for their dilligent efforts. I can only try to imagine how much work it would be for me to do the same; so much effort on so many levels. I also want to thank all the substitute recappers (especially Ibarramedia for last nite's!), for allowing us to keep up on the story w/o missing a beat. It's been fun, gang...

if "Unibrow" is the baby that kept crying "mama" in Adela's arms, I would say she is definitely not hers. my impression is she was crying for her own mama, not calling Adela mama. her own mama had to be the nun standing off to the side trying not to let the girl see her so she wouldn't start completely wailing

Why isn't Adela appearing on Cristina with the others? Is there some friction? I didn't see where Gabriela/Diana and Fernando/Guillermo were appearing either. I'd most want to see Mr. Escandon on the Cristina show!

Julie:

If Univision is a local station in your area, try disconnecting the cable connection and just use the antenna that came with your TV. Last September after "Ike" we were without electricity for two weeks and I had an old battery operated TV and was able to keep up the FELS (in black & white no less). Of course, I had to have my son FedEx me batteries (novellas packs as he called them) from San Antonio a couple of times since there were none to be had in Houston.

Good luck. You were a great recapper and we will miss you.

rsk

The Dispensario needed a special "Fernando" wing just to hold all Feo's victims over the last several months, with an underground tunnel connecting up with the Virgencita's chapel in the Church.
Did anybody catch Pad Tad's comment when everyone arrived at the scene of Feo's death? I think he said to the 3 Reyes Bros: "None of you killed him, did you?"
That's what it sounded like anyway.
What is his problem?
Sheesh.
"Creemelo"

Ibarramedia: My hat's off to you for your able and willing recapping skills. Stick around for MEPS cuz the more the merrier as the saying goes.....Thanks to Melinama and Melissa also for their portions. Lots of chuckles and grins to start my day with. I had to race out this AM and didn't get to comment.

With regards to the question of damage to Fernando's head with his suicide, Yes and no. His handgun had a small caliber bullet that is enough to kill him but not totally mess up his face. On the other hand if it was a .50 caliber sniper bullet that penetrated his head, i'm sure that there would be no head to speak of. Without going to a lot of detail, I have seen some pictures of Iraqi insurgents with their head literally blown off. Sorry if you are eating. Some you could actually see the whites of inside the skull. Again sorry for being graphic.

Those torches are sure handy in Serdan. Unless they were using the million candlepower flashlight, those torches do the job. I always chuckle at the eternal flame in Libia's tomb.

Dorado dave-DD Juan was the person who realized it was Fernando who raped Sofia. Juan and Sofia were discussing the ether in Juan's kitchen. And that discovery is what was trully the beginning of the end for Fernando. That is when they later had that showdown at the hacienda where Gabi ended up shooting Fernando in the arm which lead us to where we are now.

Though Fernado never admitted it or rather said that they could not prove it, it was now known that he did it. Bernardo's death had a lot of speculating and Don Agustin suspected Fernando. Nabor and Fermin were jailed then released. No concrete resolution came of it until Fernando confessed to Sofia.

Sofia did not realize that she was living with a very, very dangerous sociopath until she heard Fernando admit all his crimes climaxing with what he did to Ruth and what he planned to do to her.

Ibarramedia

Dorado Dave, I don't think Adela has any children. I saw her on Cristina once when her much younger brother appeared with her. She's extremely fond of her nephew. There's constant speculation about her being pregnant, but I don't think she has any kids.

I was thinking that unibrow baby was Adela's kid because she kind of looks like her and also has red hair. the only thing is Adela does not have a unibrow.

Ibarramedia

I was very disappointed in Feo's suicide. The writers should have considered the following story line.

Feo goes to the graveyard to dig up Gabs with the intention of pretending to save her while planning to kill her. Old acid eye shows up just as coffin is opened, knocks Feo over the head and throws him into the coffin on top of Gabs. He then proceeds to grab the money and closes the coffin and covers it with dirt. Feo and Gabs spend the last minutes of life in terror as all their past deeds haunt them. They see visions of hell as they run out of air.
