MEPS, Wed. March 25, (#28) - Let's Give The Greek Chorus of Big Cats Something To Really MEEEE-OWWWW About
But tonight we hear:
* BOW barking on the phone, demands that Dr. Matamentos get from Liliana exactly what the devil she said to her sister. She sees the light under the office door and knows that the turtle doves aren't billing or cooing.. Eduardo has to consider doing what Erika asks and breaking his pledge from years ago. Fernanda cries, what is going to illuminate these sad days.
The damage is done. I tried to ruin your wedding and though I didn't achieve it, I did earn your hatred.
Nana was like the water flowing through her hands he only mother . . She cries that you will always live in my heart and I will never forget you. Soledad steps toward her in aura light left over from the wardrobe of La Rosa De Guadalupe. She will assure her eternal rest in a really really nice grave.
Where is your love? snarks Barbara, He returns, she is in the chapel praying a rosary for Soledad's eternal rest. I had to support your step daughter. And I have to work while missing the nice wedding night where I was planning to take possession of my bride. But what's this I see as the robe slips off, Barbinorgasma plans to help him enjoy a great wedding night after all. Where is your husband, sleeping sweet dreams after his disempower milk. [Boy she does smile beautifully at CERTAIN times.] Ohh, ohh, Aurora is up and wandering, decides to go for a little walk.
Liliana is walking too. she wakes up Ciro, sleeping over his chess board. Wake up, wake up (despierta) , what's happening . I dreamed that (Eduardo) is crying because Nanda married another. Ciro asks, When is the wedding? I don't know but, I remember her telling me that she was going to marry. She can't marry him, she is still in love with Eduardo. What can I do to help you? asks kindly Ciro.
Out wandering among the wilting wedding flowers, Aurora thinks, inside the writhing, panting nearly naked couple are not needing to think much. Aurora continues to walk near a row of the windows and sees the hot action, against blue stained glass, [duck, Aurora. BOW has eyes in the back of her head. . and makes love with her eyes wide open.]
In the horse barn with his wheelbarrow of fresh greens, Jacinto, says good day to Tomasa who says that Camlo woke up in a foul temper (se levante de un genio) and is looking for you.
Back on cottage row, Gardenia continues to nag at Margarita that she swallows his lies easily, insinuating that she is getting lovey instead of standing on principle and continuing to torment her husband. (Me thinks pretty Gardenia needs some of what BOW got last night to cool her jets.)
Camilho screams at Jacinto waving the little piece of leather with tacks which has magically reappeared inspite of his unconscious departure from the wedding. What is the meaning of this tack strip. This was your fault that the mare rearedup (botó) on my girlfriend. He rants several lines includng, your scars are going to be worse than ever. You are in charge of all the horses. But just as he moves forward to whip Jacinto, Nanda comes down the stairs in virgin black and stops her enraged brother. Jacinto's quivering is palpable.
* Erika emerges from her beauty sleep and manages to smile at Eduardo, good day, When you are ready, I will drive you to your house. Have you thought about what I asked last night, she wonders. He hands out ice water this morning.
Nanda reminds Camilho that problems are not resolved with blows. Camilho is disappointed with this news which he really did not know, and Nanda is further distressed that he showed up with a new girlie and destroyed Erika making yet another scene at her disaster of a wedding. Who cares, he sneers. You got your big fat power husband didn't you? Nanda springs back with, I don't need the big hubby to know you are a miserable lout (patán)
Dr.Matamente (Dr. Gay to some of his fans) approaches Liliana about her medications and says Barbara ordered that she be controled more but if she cooperates, perhaps they can be friends.
The sweet couple (meaning Dam and Nan) kiss goodbye demurely while Anibal huffs and puffs that they have to get to the airport like now.. She will miss him she says without much conviction. This is an outrage to send him off to New York instead of off to their honeymoon.
Dr. Mata promises Lili he can ignore the orders of BOW and she could make more trips to the garden and lifting of some of the restrictions if Lili will just agree to be his friend (I keep misspelling this fiend, is that a Freudian slip) She wants to know about the pills, he promises today she won't have to take any. if she will confide in him and tell him ALL like friends do. Do you promise Lily do you promise.I will leave you to think about this.
This depends on the future of Grupo Lactos says the always ruffled and ever shriller Anibal. Nanda thinks they can't be that close to bankruptcy (quiebra), One can almost hear Anibal's thoughts, If only you knew.
Erika and Eduardo discuss the crime that CamHo Elizalde committed and how many years has she accepted this engagement (noviazgo). Erika wants to know when he will answer her question. With this much spirit to push, it's a wonder she is such a punching bag for Cami. Let's go to your house. Seatbelt (cinturon) he says gently, just to show he can make anything sound sexy...
Anibal needs to rehearse the roll of convincing the gringos to invest in Lactos. Nanda thinks they could talk about other things at least on the way to the airport and infact she will drive her new husband if they can't even have a honeymoon they can spend as much time together as possible. Anibal wants to talk strategy. Damian insists with a swagger that PM must be impressed with his abilities if they insist he comes to NY. Further aggravating Anibal and especially Damian, Nanda insists that Jacinto come with her and the dweeb and the yellow SUV. Anibal has to get into his car alone.
Aurora puts a necklace back on the dresser and prepares to leave. Cheerful Santi, says I came to look for you do you want breakfast. She has to go, she says sadly looking back at the pretty things. He is looking for the magic words that will make her stay and have breakfast so she won't have an empty stomach. Finally she agrees that she won't go until after breakfast. She has left the lovely party dress and all. Santi is sad that she is all packed.
Aurora next sees BOW kissing again but this is only the old Gonzo kisser upon which she superimposes her memory of the hotter scene from last night.
* Aurora looks dimly and Barbara tells them to come in. How did you pass the night. Aurora says it's better if I go now. But Papa says please join us for breakfast. Santi kisses papa. the Maids carry in coffee and toast.
Ciro what are you doing, asks Lili. The instructions he says, I am looking for the instructions for the game. where are they? He places money on the table but leaves the rest in the back of the chess board and says last night you asked me to help you. Let us play chess for a while and I will look in your room, don't leave until I come back for you.
The breakfast is nerves on toast and BOW pretends that she is so pleased to see Santi whom they don't see often and therefore his friend. Santi doesn't look convinced, Papa has to go to work, but invites Aurora to feel like she is in her house. BOW moves in Where do you come from? Santi offers, She is from Michoacan but we met in Guadalajara? Then for some time we have lived in Jalisco. So senora where are you from? Aurora finds her own spunk. Santi reflects that they have never known where she came from. Aurora asks again, and again Barbara evades with I came from a small town in the north. Aurora continues, but what is the name of it? Barbara smiles her Cheshire cat smile, perhaps Santiago can take you there before you leave, he is a good tourist. .
Erika says okay now we are at my house. The time to think has ended. Sr. Santoro, I am grateful that you rescued me and sorry I asked something so crazy. I understand that you wouldn't want to do what I ask. No I want to but I am trying to understand. She spins her argument to look great, The only thing she did wrong was to be in love with a miserable.creep . You want to pretend (fingir) at the hacienda that we are dating and together. He agrees that she needs some way to not feel humiliated. I don't think the good Erika realizes just how ugly this beaten face looks, but after all it seems to move Eduardo to think he should risk his business stance and help her.
*Eduardo says what you are proposing to me seems crazy (descabellado) but it's a deal. In return I need to ask a favor that you help me find a really fine horse. That's all she asks hoping he needs other help. NO, I understand that your family raises horses so you should know where I can rent a good horse.
At the airport Nanda returns to the car and Jacinto helps her in. I want to talk to you alone so you will tell me the truth. Why haven't you told me that Eduardo is here. Jacinto swallows loudly.
Eduardo is talking to Steve on his car phone (correctly hands free) Damian will be in New York in some hours, the plane should have taken off (despagar) by now. Communicate with me after the meeting. I am sure he is coming with Fernanda .
Nanda keeps on about what friends Jacinto and Eduardo were and what have they heard of Ed and when he says nothing she continues, and you or Margarita have talked with him, NO? You are hiding something. They hid for whatever motives that Soledad had died. Jacinto holds his own denying the contact. She plans to have Soledad moved to the famly crypt when Eduardo shows up so they can have a proper service.
Ciro gives money to Alfonsina saying all things are possible, and this is just for her grandchildren and the presents they might need. He only wants to get permission for Lili to talk on the phone Nurse Alfonsina says, who does she want to call? He says calmly, her sister, She seems to enjoy foiling Dr. MataMente so says, in 5 minutes the guard changes wait for me in your room.
Jacinto is grasping for words, understand that the death of Soledad was.... well it was her wish to .... I'm having trouble (Me cuesta trabajo) believing that Eduardo is here and he hasn't communicated with you I want to know because that I want to move Soledad to the mausoleum of my family. Jacinto shrugs This is what my father promised her years ago.
Franco talks to Steve . that his when his Mother died, she told him she had left a secret he needs to find out. He flashes back to her death bed saying the secret is with Liliana at the asylum.
*Gotta love the PSA's tonight where men pledge not to beat their women, anymore. Camilho, we are talking about people like you.
At the elegant asylum with fountains. Lili keeps repeating dont' marry with Damian. about 10 times. The nurse says Ciro everything is ready (está listo, remember that ser listo = be smart) . There isn' t much time Adolfina. Let's look for Liliana but as she leaves the room Dr. Mata finds her and says where are you going? Adolfina says meekly, to check (reviso) Lili's room. He waves his flowers, and says, I will do that. Once in her room he cajoles, these are for you, friends bring presents and we are friends. she takes the flowers but he immediately ask her to remember the visit from her sister and just what did your sister tell you?? Lili looks worried and says the flowers want water. He will bring her all the water she wants if she answers his question. You are trying my patience. Adolfino bursts into the room. Dr. M snaps what are you doing? She pretends some patient's family is looking for him and he hands the flowers to her. Adolfina says come with me, Lili to my office don't you want to talk to your sister.
It was you, right? says BOW to Cigarman. [Does she mean the flowers, she really isn't sure yet.]
The car comes into gas station fill it (llena) she says . Then I will take you to your house so you can give me the number to call Eduardo
And who should appear but Ed right behind her pulling up his car miraculously right behind Fernanda. I will attend to you in a minute young man. Ed does the obvious walks up to her window and says buenos dias. What a smile.
Lili on phone who's is on the phone, Tomoasa the made answers, Lili timidly gets out that she wants to talk to Fernanda.
Fernanda calls from Jacinto's while Eduardo uses a hanky to disguise his voice. They make plans to see him but what is he really going to do.....
Next chapter is FRIDAY, you have tomorrow night off for the Premios awards.

I didn't have time to rewind over and over. Please clarify: Eduardo agreed to pretend to be dating Erika? I know this is a novela, but this is crazy. Everybody knows she is just meeting Franco, everybody is just meeting Franco. Before I get all worked up, is that the agreement? If so, what the heck is in it for him? Thanks. And Ibarramedia, you got a good point!
Also, whoever said it a week ago, I think they're right: Aurora has probably found Mommy dearest right in the casa of her angel, Santi. Babs does not intimidate Aurora, she pretty much meets her gaze and now knows for sure how rara she is!
Khalilah
Camil-ho is such a little biatch. I was waiting for Jacinto to just haul off and smack him a good one. He'd just cry and run away. What a little bully. I think even Nanda could make his cowardly ass run away.
Who is the new guy? (He wasn't there last night but he was in last week's episode.) I call him creepy guy because he looked creepy. Is he good or bad?
Connie, are you talking about Valdimar? Valdimar was the creepy looking guy at the wedding with Damien's mother and is now trying to get into Prissy bed. He must be bad. Poor Prissy, I really like her bad wig and all.
I cannot believe that the poor, new bride, all in black, had to play pack mule for Damien and schlep his luggage out to car! And there were two other able bodied, brain addled, men standing about. (This makes me crazy)
Maybe we should send Gardenia over to the Funny Farm to trade places with Lil - I bet it wouldn't take her long to straighten Dr. Gay out!
Liberate Lil!!!!

While we’re on the topic of flower names, I noticed the name of the manicomio is “MiraFlores.” Maybe this has been mentioned earlier and I missed it. (maybe I need to move to miraflores...)
Ah,,,, attention to the tiniest details in this telenovela: I loved it when the maid jumped as the toast popped up. (giggle)
I don’t think Jacinto admitted Eduardo is in town.
In telenovelaland it is quite normal for someone to meet, and within 24 hours become novios. ;-) Yep, it’s in the rules, so a FrEd/Erika pareja would be no big deal.
Lili needs to break out soon! Maybe Eduardo will help. He's going to have many stories to keep straight.
It spoke volumes to see Fer pulling the luggage in her high heels across the yard! Why did she do it?! Maybe she felt guilty for depriving Damian on their wedding night...

I don't know how she intends to work around the beating bit, that will be hard to hide from Nanda. But it did convnce Ed/Franco to help her out even though it doesn't make sense on one hand for him to make the Elizondo's mad. Actually, you know, I don't think they will care at the Lactos, CamilHo doesn't seem to have a role there at all. He only does sex, horses and mirror gazing as far as I can see.
As for Jacinto, he dragged out his answer but he did keep denying that Eduardo was there or that he had talked to him. Somehow, Nanda pushes him to get a phone number at his house and she intends to call him. I do think she will think she is telling him about his Mother's death. But we will see Friday night. Somehow, Jacinto must have time to warn Franco/Ed so he can do the handkerchief routine and he lowered his voice, as we saw at the end last night.

You know, Camil-Ho has to sleep sometime....baseball bat, kneecap...I'm just saying...
So I guess Edwardo learned a lesson about spiteful actions. The priest was right that Ed/Franco is capable of self judgement.
Seems that Cigarman does not live very far away. Now that's interesting!
Erika's little scheme with Fr/Ed does seem farfetched, but both she and Fr/Ed said as much, so at least they know it's crazy. (So crazy, it JUST MIGHT WORK!)
Eh, well, I'm not at all sure it will make Camilo jealous as she hopes, but at least she won't look like a forlorn, just-dumped, wretched thing that no one would want.
And Fr/Ed will now have an additional "in" to Fernanda's social circle.
I'm still hazy on how all this is supposed to work, especially with the Power Milk scam, etc., but we'll find out soon enough. (No! Not soon enough!! No show tonight, waaaaah!)
The HORSE, the HORSE
This is the third tiem I have heard Ed refer to horses and horsemen (jockeys).
He mentioned in his first meeting with the Elizalde's in their office that he was a horseman, if I understood it right (or was he asking who was the best horseman in the area?)
He then mentioned it again to Camilo again at the wedding. If I recall, he said that he had asked around who was the best horseman in the area and the answer given to him was Camilo. Then, he said he was a horseman, as well.
Now, he wants a horse.
I am seeing a challenge of a horse race, English style, over creeks and log fences. Maybe Ed clears his fence and Camilo misses the fence by an inch and Ed has his venganza against Camilo for pushing his Mother into the swimming pool??
Hmmmm.... ???
Ris
And Fer dragging the suitcase across the lawn, then driving Damian to the airport with Jacinto in tow!? Would have made more sense for Anyballs(?) to drive him, discussing the NYC mtg, and Fer would have Jacinto alone at the hacienda to interrogate, proceed to make the phone call to Eddy's LOCAL cell number! I, too, loved Dam's careful handling of his own luggage- I hope that he doesn't put in a claim against the airline for damage.
there is something between Aurora and Babs- do they both suspect it? Or is it just us? Liked the way that the Aurora turned the tables on Babs at the bfast table.
That mating scene that Aurora was a "voyeuring" didn't make much sense, either. Fer went to the chapel, she'll be coming back into the house soon. It's almost like Bab's wants to get caught, she really can't be that careless...Isn't Lucero something else when she smiles?
I'm wondering when Gardenia is going to have to be told of Eddy's presence, She is such a loose cannon and hothead. (not just a hothead- I googled Aleida Nunez-the actress playing 'Denia- smokin! hot!)
Ooops- almost forgot- thanks for the recap, Cheryl...
I think Gardenia is just being a sister, whether by blood or in the spirit, advising sometimes excitedly a sister how to maintain mental health and happiness.
However, I think he's just warming up and will just keep doing worse and worse things until his arrogance offends the wrong person and then he gets whacked.
I feel silly that I didn't consider that Vlad is a con man himself. D'oh! Did we see Pris present divorce papers in the avances, or was I making up my own replacement dialogue as usual?
Barbinator the sex kitten and Damien her cat toy. ;)
Did anyone else notice the agave plant in the Virgen and baby portrait? Is that a little salute to DA?
Jody :)
If Nanda really thinks that Fr/Ed is behind the flowers then she must assume that he knows his mom is dead. Why he hasn't shown himself, besides that he hates them, is the question she needs answered.
I think if Erika can convice people that Fr/Ed took her away from the party in her condition and fell in love with her, that makes him the white knight and Camilho an even bigger shmuck. Even disfiguring her didn't make her undersirable to a hotty hot hotty! And Fr/Ed can be close to the family socially without raising any red flags because Erika is always with the family. So there is something to be gained by both.
I fear Lili is going to get another big shot for making that phone call, I hope not! Her whole story just makes me sick. Fr/Ed has to go back, he knows she has something important.
So my last thought is Fr/Ed seems to have made something of himself all those years away in the US. If the family business is really going down the tubes, will our studly hero be the savior of them all in the end and buy up the stupid company?
Liberate Lili!
I was remembering how good with horses the young Eduardo was, remember how he left his beautiful horse in Jacinto's care when he was packed off to school. I agree with all those that thilnk the expert horsemanship challenge is Eduardo's pathway to get CamilHo's goat. Cami thinks he is god's gift to horses (and women too) but Ed is for sure going to be a better champion (with both in the end.)
He wouldn't have to die.
After his horse misses the fence, he could hit his head and go into a 6 month coma. Then, he returns to the land of the living and:
1) Takes Lili's room at the nuthouse!
2) Becomes a priest and ministers to the Indians in the jungle!
3) Has an epiphany, sees the light, and joins Eduardo's army!
Ris
Oh, and after all the talk of phone throwing, I laughed out loud when Damian chucked his suitcase into the car.
I am not yet convinced that Vladim is a bad guy.
From what I've seen, he is acting the part of someone who really is smitten by Priscilla.
Of course, his relationship, whatever it is, to Sleazeball Damian doesn't speak well for him - but I've seen nothing yet to indicate he's a bad guy.
So, we shall see....
Ris
MAYbee, it was Barb with a pickax in the stable...neckeed.
By the way, here is my horsey oriented entry into the art tour coming up in Corrales in May I am number six:
www.corralesartstudiotour.com
It would be intriguing if Aurora is Babs long lost unknown daughter. In real life though, she is too young to be her daughter unless she had her when she was 12-15 years old.
Yes my humble opinion, Vladimir is evil. So is Damian.
Ibarramedia
So are we going to see Natasha again, or has she already exceeded his attention span?
Great recap, too, thanks. This show is really exciting. Or maybe the actors make it exciting. For example, when Fernanda stopped at the gas station, and saw Ed in the rear view mirror, and he comes up and says hello, somehow that seemingly innocuous scene was filled with tension and excitement. I'm really enjoying this show.
Damian throwing his suitcase into the back of the SUV with a look of disgust on his face was a scream. At least he didn't throw his laptop into the back. So, he's a little more restrained than he of his was in D A.....so far.... but i hope we see more of his "passion for smashin" down the road.
So where's that cell phone when you need one again. I guess the supervising nurse doesn't have one so she has to drag poor Lil to the office. Will they be caught and punished?
I think Babs may be old enough to be Aurora's Mom if she were a very young mom and that Vlad has the hots for Pris who has the fringe benefits of being part of a wealthy family (gravy train.) GinCA
Enjoyed your recap and especially wonderful that you taught your readers the difference between "estar listo" and "ser listo". Muy bien, amiga!
I loved it when Eduardo said "cinturon"...to me that said, protective, caring...and hey, that IS sexy in a man.
And the excitement and tension, as Hombre pointed out, when Fernanda caught a glimpse of him in the side mirror, and then he comes up, and then he pauses, and then he smiles, and then he....... says "Fernanda"....ay yi yi, I'm off to the shower...a cold one!
Fr/Ed is building an army. I hope he leads well.
Definitely a lot of PSAs tonight, seatbelt, hands free talking. However, he hands free is not even recommended. :-)

re: Aurora --- this is a spoiler-free zone (hooray!) so if you want the real scoop on her and other cast characters, copy & paste this into your browser:
http://foro.telenovela-world.com/n4/read-t.php?f=512&i=421&t=421#reply_421
Hombre de Misterio: Yes, the actors are definitely making this more interesting. With a less skilled cast, I don't know if the story alone could hold me. But the actors are bringing subtleties into their performances that give depth to their characters and make them more mysterious!
I was personally a little turned off by Fr/Ed telling Erika to put on her cinturón. She's not a child.
I don't like Vlad, can't say why, I just don't. Lets hope Pris is smart because I do really like her!
Can't wait to see what kind of horse Fr/Ed gets! A Capricho horse would be lovely.
I don't get it. This is clearly the modern era, cell phones galore, even hands free ones, laptops, etc. But the ricos are allowed to whip the serfs? I'm starting to really like Silvia Navarro. She seems much more substantial and earthy than lots of telenovias. Camilho didn't dare mess with her when she interrupted his planned attack on Jacinto. She looked perfectly capable of grabbing the whip and giving the SOB a taste of his own medicine.
I was wondering if I was nuts last night. When BOW met with the shadowy person, it seemed a different voice to me, not gravelly, actually like a woman's voice, and the hair looked smoother. Anyone else notice this?
Doesn't look like Lili's phone call is going to work, judging by the avances. I am heartily sick of the manicomio story line. And how come Ciro is in there at all? He does mathematical calculations in his room (which is pretty luxurious), plays good chess, and has lots of dough.
I noticed that you all are so gung ho about Damian destroying cell phones. Is that his trademark? Do all his characters destroy a cell phone each episode?
I did not think much about Fernanda wheeling Damian's luggage. First off, to me it's petty. The luggage is not big and heavy, just a small one for a few nights. secondly, it has wheels. And Fernanda soes not hav emuch of an uppity senora attitude that she would let the servants do anything. Besides she is liberated. Here is my take on Damian throwing the luggage into the back of the vehicle. He is pissed that he has to go to New York instead of honeymooning with Fernanda. He did not get some from Fernanda, though had some with Babs. I think they were running a bit late and he was frustrated with his conversation with Fernanda.

Anon at 02:07, I am totally in agreement with you that the victim should not be blamed. Perhaps driven to the nearest shrink if she will not stop letting it happen but I meant that Ed/Franc was not trying to slime up to her and seduce her which she seemed to be a bit afraid of when she woke in the night and he had just come in. At that point she had not looked at herself in the mirror and was in an even worse position to make clear judgements. Immediately trying to trump up a new boyfriend scene seemed part whacky, part lack of self confidence both of which aided her predicament and how she got involved with CamilHo the more flashy brother instead of Santi who is the real mensch and always has been. He adored her and she could have been with him but was obviously not thinking deeply back then either.
Hombre, thanks for looking at the site. I have previewed most of those pictures here in the last weeks but I am excited about how the 11 x 14 version of the black stallion looks with elegant double mat and frame.
Maybe Ciro is just making the best of treatment from a crummy family. He certainly doesn't seem to have anything wrong with him. Not that there aren't some exceptionally talented people who do have mental problems.
Ericka should have felt the sting of pain in her eyes and lips, but he shock of how she was brutalized was too much for her. I guess she did not realize the extent she was hurt upon gazing at her reflection in the mirror.
I'm glad Camilo did not decide to whip his very beautiful newly wed younger sister. He outranks but she was able to shut him up. Perhaps Jacinto will get his venganza when he gets to whip Camilo back. If I was Eduardo, I'd break Camilo's jaw and ribs.
Hombre, maybe you can repost you version of the Manana theme song. Congratulations again to your daughter's wedding.
Ibarramedia
Ibarramedia, the guy who plays Damian was a cell phone abuser in Heridas de Amor and in Destilando Amor. I don't know if he was smashing phones before that, but by the end of DA it was downright comical, I think he flung his phone at the end of pretty much every conversation.
I'm also predicting that Eddy will somehow be the saviour of this whole dysfunctional mess of a family and business. I've thought that from the outset.
Someone asked about BOW having killed her folks. That came up in the first episode in the first conversation between Cigarman and BOW. Her referred to that murder as a recommnedation for the Elizalde job.
Someone else asked about our contant referring to cell phones and Damian. It comes from the Desilando Amor, where Sergio Sendel, (who plays Damian) would have a temper flare a coupkle times a week, and smask either a cell phone, or a cordless phone. Sendel is teasing us here in MEPS.
Maybe he'll throw Barb down for the next body work session?
Maybe if everyone on Caray clicks below and sends a complaint, we can get decent closed captions again.

First of all, no, Ericka is not a child but she's obviously still in a confused, dazed state of mind. So reminding her about the seat belt was just an expression of his continuing protection of her.
And I guess because my father, who was in a business where they learned about the importance of seatbelts early on (back in the early fifties) always insisted, (gently as was his fashion) that we wear them because of the crash films he had seen. So I always see that as caring and protective, not patronizing. BUT....always willing to recognize individual differences and perspectives.
And loved your remark about dissing your mama as being an "express ticket" to punishment, Julie...You DO have a way with words.
I guess the immediate noviazgo thing is common but it's just so stupid, they just met! Why would anyone believe it, especially when Errorika was so public with her outrage and drunken rage over Camil-hos public dumping. Oh well, I guess I understand what beanies are for!
And just a side thought: I think they might have made Dr. Matamentes gay because if he were hetero, being unethical as he is he would also be sexually abusing Lil and that's a complication they just didn't want to be bothered with.
Khalilah
On a little lighter note, my nail school teacher also had a husband who would come home drunk. She was in nail school at the time and since she didnt' have anyone to practice on every time he passed out he would wake up in the morning with a brand spanking new set of acrylic nails. Sometimes with polish sometimes not!
Dorado Dave, Carlos, Hombre and any other guys, I LOVE hearing y'all gush over a hot actress, I'm happy y'all gets yer eye candy, too! Right on! (I do prefer to use the suffix -ess sometimes!)
Khalilah
And Judy. Honey. If a man that fine told me in a deep, hushed yet audible and insistent tone to put on my seat belt?....Girrrrlllll! Nothin' patronizing in that! Yeah, cold shower time.
I remember the maid telling Erika that a present was coming for her, from Camilo maybe?
I'll probably watch on you-tube.
Variopinta
Ibarramedia requested that I repost my version of the MEPS song. I wrote a version for my daughter's wedding, in which the music is the MEPS theme, but the words are my expression of love to my daughter and her new husband. Here it is:
Amor es Para Siempre
Pirate Babe, I think somehow Cigarman is a relative of Gonzolo's. they had some type of terrible falling out so Ciggie wants deep revenge. Soledad was around because they said she was the only one who remembered who he was. Perhaps Gonzo thinks he is dead or just can't think to clearly about any of his past (present either it seems) Ciggie really wanted Soledad out of the picture but keeping her in a little cottage for 15 years and breaking her heart by making her remains separated from her only and much beloved son just makes me want to put another layer of aluminum foil in my beanie.
We also don't really know what he has on Barbara that keeps her at his beck and call or why she would have murdered her parents, was he involved in that too or did he just admire her cold heartedness in being able to off Mama and Papa??? So many questions. But we have until October to figure this out. And I don't think Ciggie will disappear anytime soon, neither will Barbara which should be of some cheer to those of us who just like seeing her.

Well, EcoModa taught us, be careful what you wish for. While Yo Soy Betty, La Fea was one of the best novelas ever, EM was awful. I only could endure about 10 episodes just skimming through them. Considering what a Fea fan I am, that says something.
"I just had a GREAT idea : When Fr/Ed tells you to buckle up that old seatbelt, the smart answer is : ''Gee, I don't know how ....Could you help me ????''" Susanlynn! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Also, Susanlynn, several people have noticed Babs "love" scenes. To me, her smiling wide-eyed tango is creepy. You ever happen up on someone sound asleep with their eyes open? I don't know about you, but that is damn creepy to me. Maybe that's the vibe they're going for, not to mention how she so joyously and boldly consumes the forbidden fruit.
Maybe I should check to see if a new thread has been started!

I have a grammar question. How do you use the word Verguenza (shame). In English we say "to have (tener) shame" or "I'm ashamed." But in Spanish they use the word "dar" which is "to give." So how does that go then? Te doy verguenza (I give you shame)?
deliberate. It is just another job to her - a way of controlling men!

By the way, both the Baylor and OSU girlies are still alive.

I hope there's another historical novela (a good one!) in the near future.
So sorry about the hearing problems which I assume are recent. My husband is getting somewhat hard of hearing and I think it's related to his heart problems (you know, that old Dr. Judy thing goin' on).
But on the plus side, amigo, yes!!! the Baylor women and the OSU women are still in it. However Stanford (our opponent) is coached by a former OSU coach) and she is out to whip our butts big-time!
Will be rooting for your gals, believe me...and ours as well.

Carla Estrada is said to be the producer. Not much in Wiki about that TN at this time. It'll come out later this year.
And... no idea how true that information is. :-)

El Sortilegio (The Sortilege) is the tentative title of a Televisa produced Telenovela. It is a remake, of the Mexican soap operas, Tu o Nadie and Acapulco Cuerpo y Alma. El Sortilegio's cast remains unknown, however, the only actors confirmed for the series are Jacqueline Bracamontes, William Levy, , David Zepeda, Yolanda Andrade and Daniela Romo. Also it will have the appearances of Belinda and Ana Brenda Contreras under the production of renowned mexican telenovela producer, Carla Estrada. The telenovela is expected to debut in May 25, 2009.
Judy, I appreciate your concern over my hearing loss, but I'm afraid it was largely self-inflicted, what with Quail hunting as a a youth(we had 2 Irish Setters), working in chemical plants during my summers (Lubrizol while at BU and then Monsanto while at UTMB), sitting too close to the speakers at Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker concert, and a bit of SCUBA diving. Also, I have a perfectly serviceable pair of hearing aids that I don't use because they make women sound shrill(or should I say shriller?), so don't cry for me Argentina.
Good luck to OSU and BU!
Carlos
Love all the seatbelt comments. I would definitely be asking for help in buckleing up if he reminded me!
Yay OSU!

Ibrramedia, It's possible that one day they will re-run Alborada and Amor Real, late night maybe onTelemundo. Currently I am watching "Mariana de La Noche" and "Abrázame Muy Fuerte" on Telemundo. I saw both of them when they first aired on Univision but am enjoying seeing them again. I have both of these, plus Alborada and Amor Real on DVD, but it's good to see the whole series.
When I first began watching novelas I found it hard to reconcile the many roles that the same actors were playing in different productions. Now I look forward to seeing my favorites when they are announced for a new novela. Helena Rojo is an example of very versatile actor and I've seen her play snobs, killers, and soft sympathetic motherly types. She's great. It is for this reason that I'm happy to see that the actress playing Erika looks and acts quite different than how was she was in "Pásion."
I'm very excited about the new Estrada production, especially for William Levy and Daniela Roma. For some reason I can't warm up to Jackie Bracamonte in any role.
Perdóname a todos for the long post.

The reading I am doing lately is Jorge Ramos, Regalo del Tiempo, letters to his children and for the class José Caldoso, Cartas Marruecas, letters in which the author poses as a Muslim from Morocco writing about his impressions of Spainish society to his old professor back at home with one Spaniard in the mix a total of 90 letters but we only read 3 of them. Age of Enlightenment viewpoints.
And I'd hate to blame Willie Nelson for any of it! (Jerry Jeff Walker I don't know...but sounds like I should)... but I do like imagining you in your party hardy days.
The only book in original Spanish I've read is Paula by Isabel Allende. But I love reading John Grisham novels in Spanish. The one I'm reading now is El Rey de Pleitos (The King of Torts) and since it also concerns the pharnaceutical industry, it might interest you. Cheryl, I'll look up those books to see if the library has them, otherwise I'll check Amazon. com. Reading really intensifies the learning experience.
Squishy-eyed female patients, eh? Can't blame 'em. That fella was a hottie.
I am also reading parts of Carlos Fuentes' history of the new world, El Espejo Enterrado (The Buried Mirror). Talk about beautiful writing and what a deep thinker. This guy is brilliant. As you can see my list of Spanish books I intend to get to any day now is daunting.
Meanwhile enjoy this gem I found that shows Babs and Ruth 'Root' from Fuego. 2 hot villanous babes. ;)

But since we're talking books, I can recommend another translation that is great in its colloquial style.... Come, Reza Ama (Eat Pray Love) by Elizabeth Gilbert. Quite an entertaining romp. Very easy to read.
Cheryl, you are so right about Carlos Fuentes. He is a fabulous writer. We read Las Buenas Consciencias in my Spanish class and enjoyed it a lot.
My big unfinished project is reading One Hundred Years of Solitude in Spanish. The book just sits there making me feel guilty. I've read it twice in English.
Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma was awful, Patricia Manterola and Saul Lizaso are both pretty but horrible actors, and she was too old for the part too.
The only novela de época I've liked of Carla Estrada was Alondra, it was so good, and it's the only novela de época she has produced in wich the female lead had a geat character and it was focused on the things she had to go through that made her change and mature, there is a love triangle and both men are wonderful, the lead was Ana Colchero (Aimeé in Corazón Salvaje, she has retired now), she was very good, and the story was narrated by Diana Bracho wich gave her a unique feel for a telenovela.
