Manana Es Para Siempre, April 2, 2009, Cap. 33 - The Secret
Secondly, I feel like I’m jumping out of a plane without a parachute since this is a totally YouTube version. I’m hoping I’ll have Univision working by next week. Anyway, I’m a caption junkie – so please feel free to fill in anywhere.
Lili is screaming for Ciro because Dr. Demented is going to give her Electroshock therapy. She screams and screams, and Dr. D says, Lili, you won’t feel any pain. Meanwhile Ciro, the mad scientist who is locked in his room, sets up what looks like a giant Molotov cocktail. While Dr. D and crew are working on Lili – Ciro sets off the bomb. Lucky Lili sets herself free. The asylum is in chaos. Ciro apparently blew himself out of the second floor window and is laid out on the grass below. Dr.D looks horrified. Smoke billows from the asylum. We hear heavenly music as a very confused Lili escapes.
Back at the office Fernanda is meeting with Gonzo, Damian, Anibal and Camilo (the Confederacy of Dunces) about Grupo Lactos, and Damian’s inability to seal the deal. Camilo jokes about the disaster of Damian’s trip and Gonzo tells him it is no joking matter. Gonzo puts it on Anibal to explain what happened– he gives all types of explanation, but really can’t explain it. Barb gloats to herself and notes how stupid Anibal is and what a silly thing Fernanda is because Fernanda still thinks she can go on with her project.
Lili, conveniently wearing a sweat suit, runs along the road.
Fernanda talks to Damian. What a pair of love birds – she’s in a strapless day number. Their chat ends with Damian talking about when they have children, a kiss goodbye, she gets on the elevator and he gets a strange look on his face. Has this marriage been consummated yet?
Anibal and Gonzo argue – Anibal says things are what they are, why am I to blame? He seems to always be the idiot and he’s tired of it. Gonzo wants solutions. Anibal says they need Franco Sontoro – he wants his help. They need another opportunity. Anibal winges that he’s the only one who really cares about the corporation. He also wants his sister’s help with PowerMilk and that Camilo needs to go to Franco Santoro’s house, too. Gonzo tells him to do it.
Barb and Damian talk about PowerMilk, but the most important thing she wants to talk about is Fernanda. El hijo de Soledad is about to arrive. So, what’s the big deal? Barb tells him it may be a threat to his marriage.
Erika and Nanda have a girl chat on the telephone. Erika has her hair wrapped in a towel and something smeared over her face. Erika tells her she has a new love and Fernanda wants to know where he came from. Erika says you’ll see Then Nanda asks her if she knows who has arrived. Nanda says Eduardo, and Erika is a little surprised. Nanda wants to see him face to face. Erika wants to know why Nanda wants to waste her time on such a bad dude as him? She wants to look him in the eyes to convince herself that such a sweet kid turned into such a cruel man.
Ed, from his car, is talking to Anibal. He mentions “buying” a beautiful horse. Anibal wants to know if Ed knows something and what he’s talking about. Ed says he has no idea. He’s had a complicated day. Anibal wants to see him as soon as possible (about his offer). Ed suggests they meet later – Anibal says of course. Ed wants to meet with Anibal and Camilo to let them know his decision. Anibal says he can count on that.
Anibal tells his secretary to call Camilo and tell him he needs to see him asap.
Damian meets with Barb and says what you’re saying is absurd. Apparently, the marriage hasn’t been consummated. She says make it happen today. She wants him to have control over Fernanda – and when Nanda is his, that’s going to happen. He says Nanda isn’t a woman who is easily manipulated. Barb mentions his weakness – it’s easier than you think. She has to get control over Fernanda because she thinks that Nanda is the only person who can cause her real problems. Damian says – what then – she says when the Elizaldes are ruined, they’ll have control of the company. For that reason they should not accept any help from Franco Santoro. Damian again says what then? She says, you and me – and they grab each other and mash faces in what looks like a painful kiss.
Santi is painting in his room when Aurora enters and slams the door and interrupts the flow of his creative juices. She’s got laundry – he tries to tell her she shouldn’t be doing this. She says it’s the least she can do cuz when she lived with Dominga she did laundry for the nuns and ironed. He keeps saying, here, no, but she goes on and on and then leaves.
Camilo goes to Anibal’s office where Anibal begins to tell him about meeting with Franco and what a jerk Camilo is and that he just uses the company for his pleasure. Camilo wants to know what do you expect, I’m a fun loving little pervert and this is what you get. They talk about the horse that Franco has and that he wants his support in giving his opinion about the animal he’s going to buy. Camilo wants to know who brought the animal. Anibal doesn’t know. Maybe from some contacts Santoro has in the U.S. In the end, Anibal wants Camilo’s help in fixing the mess that Damian made with PowerMilk. Camilo thinks this is funny. I’d like to wipe that smile off his face. Camilo is happy to meet with them this evening because he’ll have a good excuse not to appear at Fernanda’s dinner with Erika. They agree and Camilo exits laughing.
Prissy looks happy and says that today she’ll find out if she’s pregnant. She’ll wait a respectable period of time, but she can’t wait to tell everyone that she’s expecting a baby. She goes to her purse and looks for the fertility test results. Natch, she can’t find the envelope. But we know where it is. She searches frantically in the desk and other drawers. The maid enters with towels. Break
Back at the ranch Priscilla is still frantically searching for the fertility report, and she asks the maid if she saw a white envelope when she was making up her room. Prissy is beside herself. Of course the maid knows nothing, and Prissy thanks her. She thinks and thinks where can it be and then she has a flashback to Vlad’s place and the phone call when she reached for her cell and her purse flipped over. Dios mio, says she. Right you are, girlfriend. Vlad is also flashing back, with great pleasure.
At the asylum Dr. Demented realizes his goose is cooked if he doesn’t find Lili and sends the two male orderlies out to find her. He has a fake book with a flask in it. He reaches in, removes the flask and has a drink when Adolfina knocks on the door. He conceals the flask and talks to her. He questions her about what happened and realizes that there was no accident. The whole bombing thing was done by Ciro (who got the stuff from an “almacen”???) on purpose to allow Lili to escape.
At the hacienda Fernanda and the maid are setting the table for the big “Erika” dinner tonight. Enter Santiago, stage left.
Santiago says she’s preparing a banquet for a nightmare named Camilo Elizalde. Fernanda asks him where is his “esposa” and if he’s falling in love. He says that’s a good question.
Outside, Camilo drives up, sees Aurora, says hello and at her obvious nervousness tells her to relax. He circles her like a vulture. He claims to be as tender as a little son. He says, tell me something, how did a girl as pretty as this rose end up with a jerk like Santiago. She says he is the most dear man in the whole world which sends Camilo, the jackal, into paroxysms of laughter.
Fernanda is still supervising the table setting. They forgot the flowers. She and Santi start talking about Eduardo. Santi thinks Ed has good reason to visit. She still doesn’t think he has ever given her a second thought and asks Santi do you know how many letters I wrote to him that he never answered. Santi is not giving up and says, go ahead look him in the eyes and ask your questions. Aurora enters looking unhappy. Camilo has followed her and says Santiago, your girlfriend. Learn about your little girlfriend. You’re in danger of losing such a beautiful woman if you leave her alone. The sleaze ball walks out laughing. Aurora looks sadly at Santi.
Ed/Franco is sneaking into Adolfina’s office. She walks in and goes into shock when he says “Buenos tardes.”
Erika is talking to her father on the phone. She thanks him for the gift – he tells her it was the best. Mama wants to talk to her – Erika tells her all is well. Mommy passes on the good word that after the Congreso, they are going to Paris. Mommy asks her about Fernanda’s wedding and Erika flashes back to seeing Camilo with Natasha and being beaten up by him. Erika lies and tells her mother it was a lot of fun and that it was all very pretty. Daddy sends his regards to Gonzo and all the family. Erika says she’s going to the Elizalde’s this very night. Mom asks if she’s going to see Camilo and Erika says no, mom, I’m going to introduce my new boyfriend. Mom is surprised.
Ed is asking Adolfina about Lili. Adolfina tells him about the bomb and that Lili is gone. That she took advantage of the confusion to escape. Lili is gone.
Ed wants to know if she’s sure. Adolfina assures him that they’ve looked for Lili everywhere and that she thinks the whole purpose of the bomb was to allow Lili to escape. Adolfina wants him to leave, but he keeps questioning him and tells him that Ciro treated Lili like his own daughter. She says he has to leave. Lili wasn’t supposed to have visitors – so he’s got to leave or else she’ll get in trouble. He says, one more thing. Does the Elizalde family know. She says not yet because if the family finds out, everyone who works at the asylum will be in big trouble. Ed writes something on a paper that he gives to Adolfina.
Lili is wandering on a road. A big truck comes by and beeps at her. She obviously hasn’t been in traffic for a while.
Prissy visits Vlad – what a surprise to see you he says. I came ‘cause I’m lonely. He asks her if she wants a drink. She starts looking around for the paper while his back is turned. He smiles his Cheshire cat smile at her. She says, Vladmir, we have to talk.
Ed is at a hospital, stops a nurse and asks where is the room of Ciro Palafox? She says he can’t have visitors and that he is very bad. He’s talking about Liliana – his wife or daughter. Ed pretends to be a doctor. She asks him if he’s Dr. Obregon. He says, “yes.” He calls the nurse “senorita” and she gives him a smile and her name. Sofia – he says, I’d like to see Ciro – she says with great pleasure, takes his hand and leads him down the hall.
Prissy and Vlad discuss their relationship. She says there could never be anything between them. He says you deserve a man who loves and cares for you, like me. She wants out gracefully, but, Vlad isn’t willing to forget so fast. She says she can’t see him anymore. He’s never seen a woman like her. She pulls away and looks puzzled.
Dr. Demented enters the hospital and is stopped by a guard. He wants to see a patient in intensive care. The guard asks if he’s a doctor. He says yes and pulls out his ID. The guard lets him pass. Meanwhile Ed is being suited up by a nurse – germs, you know. Sofia notices his biceps and triceps. What a flirt. He even gets a hat and mask and gloves. Looks like he’s going to operate. The other nurse leads him in. Sofia says she couldn’t ask for a more handsome doctor.
Ed, the imposter, enters Ciro’s room. He says he understands that Sr. Palafox is conscious. The new nurse tells him he’s sleeping now and hands him Ciro’s chart and offers him any help he might need. Ed gets down by Ciro and says, Ciro, its Eduardo Suarez, enemigo of the Elizaldes. Ciro opens his eyes. Dr. Demented now arrives at intensive care while Ed asks Ciro if he know about Lili. Ciro says, “si.” Ciro says something unintelligible. Ed keeps asking, where is she?
Lili has arrived at some town and takes a break. Ciro says not important and calls her mi hija. Ed says everyone is looking for her. Ciro says look in my pants. Ed pushes the button for the nurse.
Dr. Demented is told he needs a pass to enter and that somebody else is visiting Ciro now and Dr. D wants more information. Somebody is visiting my patient, Ciro, now? She answers the phone to what is obviously a personal call. Ed tells the nurse that he needs Ciro’s pants while Dr. D insists that the nurse tell him who is visiting Ciro – she can’t tell him. Ed looks at the stuff the nurse brought in and Ciro says he’s tired of it all. Ed goes through Ciro’s pants, finds the white pawn/queen??? and reads the paper. He’s shocked. We can tell by the look in his eyes. He realizes his mother wrote it. Ed now knows The Secret.
Ciro talks to Ed and says that the bomb was necessary to free Liliana and that this will also be his liberation. Meanwhile Ciro’s vitals are declining. Ed calls out to Ciro. Dr. D is having fits of anxiety. Nurse tells nurse Sofia that Dr. D wants to see the patient. Sofia asks him if he’s a doctor. Dr. D says he’s not just any doctor, he’s the patient’s doctor. She tells him the doctor is already there. Dr. D is getting more agitated. That’s impossible – is he in there. Sofia says just a minute – remember the biceps and triceps? Dr. D yells I’m Ciro’s doctor, me, me. He’s my responsibility. She says wait, wait.
Ed says Ciro, wait, wait. Meanwhile Nurse Sofia tells Dr. D to stop, stop; he can’t enter. Dr. Demented pulls his ID out. Sofia apologizes and says she couldn’t imagine such a thing. Ed hears the commotion.
Ciro flatlines.
Avances – Prissy finds out she’s pregnant. Is Lili at the mud wrestling hut? Barb meets with Aurora. Nanda wants to know the name of the “galan” accompanying Erika

It was a delightfully cheesy episode complete with flask hidden in hollow book, Eduardo getting in to see Ciro on the strength of his good lucks and great muscle definition and Liliana running for miles amidst looming menacing trucks. Melodrama here we come!
Glad to know the marriage hasn't been consummated. How long can the writers keep on with that tease?
Thur. is my afternoon off and I was discussing this show with massage therapist (purely therapeutic) who is a horselady. I described Salaroso's curious little hat to her and she asked if he was a tall horse and had just been unloaded from a horse trailer. The hat is to protect the head of tall horses that toss their heads a lot from the roof of the trailer. Makes sense to me. I wasn't sure if that had ever been cleared up. Also I started describing Capricho to her and she finished the description for me. Turns out he is breed called Fiersien(hoping I spelled that right). She said that Salaroso(based again on my description) is likely an Andalusian.
I just love this show. Eddie posing as a Dr. was a howl. Nurse Sofia( Sofia in Spanish must mean pretty but slow-witted) was blinded by Eddie's beauty(as I guess are many others) because there is one thing every Dr. regardless of specialty learns as a junior student on surgical rotation is to slip deftly into a latex glove offered up by a nurse. It's a matter of pride.

OMG, I guessed right on the world's largest molotov cocktail! I can't believe it. Que lastima, too, that we have lost our dear Ciro. He soldiered on and sacrified himself for Lili's freedom. Run, Lili, run!
I think the role of Cadmilo has been cast perfectly. Palazuelos' face is perfect....all pouty, spoiled, and self-absorbed looking. ;-)
JudyB or pasofino - I've read that word "whinge" a lot in Brit lit. also. Is it pronounced with the soft 'g' sound?
Don't know if the New Zealand pronunciation is different. At any rate, great word.
Also cute was the nurse's willingness to accept Fr/Ed's inefficent inpersonation of a doctor! And the real doctor Demented being 'carded'.
I knew that Lili would not be prepared to re-enter on her own but did it have to be the cliche mental-patient-wondering-on-highway. At this point I can foresee Lili NOT being found by Fr/Ed or the Wrestling Marita/nurse. Cliche would be found by a no-good.
Again, thank you Pasofino, for going thru so much to give us this.
Carlos
Is now when Lili will either run into a kind soul / or a mean soul - and then run into her own boyfriend who will protect her? I haven't seen a boyfriend in the cast credits, which gives me some cause for concern whether she will ever get a boyfriend.
Another point about learning languages - an infant comes from the point of learning his/her first language at the same time as acquiring knowledge. An adult already has a certain amount of knowledge - and to some extent, is looking to place "tags" of the second language on already existing knowledge in the brain.
While we're on the subject, although not directly related to Univision - when I started learning Spanish over 5 years ago, one could elect to hear a SAP audio channel. Almost all paid movie channels (HBO, Showtime) and maybe half of cable channels (ie USA, TNT, etc) used Spanish audito on the SAP audio track. The major networks usually used "narrative" English for sight-disabled English speakers. Anyways, now with the conversion to digital and HD, I find very few channels that have Spanish on the SAP audio channel (Using Time Warner), even when they advertise that they do. This is quite disappointing, but at least I have a pretty good DVD Collection with Spanish audio and subtitles.
Poor Ciro. He gave up his life so Lili could be free. I still want to know how he survived being blasted out the window and landing on the grass.
Whenever Cadmil-Ho opens his mouth all I can hear is the Oompa Loompa song! Maybe we could make up some new lyrics to the song. Hmmmm.... Aurora clearly can't stand him.
Did the hour fly because of the explosion and Lili's escape or because we had so much F C airtime? Anyway, it was a fast enjoyable episode.
So Dr. Demented may have an alcohol problem...has Babs driven him to drink. The nurse taking a personal call and putting Dr. D off at the hospital was a riot. So true and irritating. Everytime I go to one particular store, the employees are always on the phone making personal calls and ignoring the customers who are waiting to be helped.
When will we learn the Secret that wide eyed Freduardo learned. I hope it's before the final episode.
Pris better be nice to Babydaddy Vlad or she's in for lot of trouble. GinCA
I look at Cadmilho and I see a rat. He always pinches up his mouth and has small eyes and just looks like a freak'n rodent!
I did like Fr/Eds expression when the nurse was feeling him up. He looked quite bemused.
JudyB - I know ... I think "whinge" is perfect, as I imagine it is meant to sound like the sound some of our doors and windows make when the wind blows hard and from just-the-right-direction. Almost like a hair comb with paper over it... the fake harmonica.
Language learning.
A. English. Yes, the conjugations are MUCH easier. But because it's not inflected (like Spanish in which the conjugation tells you the usage), we rely VERY heavily on word order, and that can get very complicated. You NEED helping verbs for even the most simple sentences such as:
DID you eat? DOES he drive?
We can say "I need to sleep," but not, "I should to sleep."
The other hard part of English is spelling. How do you spell the long-E sound? SEVEN ways! "We happy chiefs receive these deep cleanings." The long-U sound? Seven ways. "A huge blue fruit moves new soup to the moon."
B. Captions. Everyone is different. If the CCs are on, I CAN'T watch the faces. I'm too distractable. I can't multitask.
C. Silverfox, good point about learning language on a blank slate vs learning when you already have one language in place. Another point is that after about 10 years old, we learn more by logic than by memorization. So a learning method perfect for young children can be a poor choice for a teen or adult.
D. Other than TNs and study dates with native speakers, my favorite study method is memorizing sentences from Resnick's "1001 Most Useful Spanish Words," $2.00. Mem'g sentences gives me vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, and I find that I retain a sentence better than a list of words. One good sentence can become a template for 20 more, by swapping vocabulary. When I memorize them, I can grab the vocab or sentence structure whenever I need it.
Along with that, I should hit grammar about once a week (should). The sentences and the grammar study complement each other.
I have some favorite books for learning grammar. Let me know if you want me to dig out the titles.
Ciro only just now flatlined, so maybe he's not lost to us yet. I hope they pull out the defibrillator. I want to hear what it sounds like when they yell "CLEAR!" en español.
Yes, I think the chesspiece was a queen, signifying that Lili the white pawn has been promoted with her escape! Either that or it was a king, signifying Eduardo, but they never talked about that before, so I don't think so. (It definitely wasn't a pawn - too tall.)
Carlos
Now it all starts... I think Fr/
ed, now that he knows the content of the letter will work to help fernanda and Gonzo with their company and smash Babs and the rest for their cruelty to soledad.. Fr/Ed will turn and go the opposite way to help get rid of the babs and cad anibal since they are the villans......let's see
A. He stands there stunned for a few moments.
B. He starts to open it (just to tease us), wipes a tear from his eye, continues opening it, looks up and tells Ciro how eager he is to read it, looks down, continues opening it.
C. Just then Dr. Demented barges in and grabs the letter from his hands, before he has a chance to read it.
D. Then the letter goes hither and yon, and Fr/Ed doesn't see it again until two weeks before the finale.
The comments already posted are far more informative and eloquent than anything I could add. Sincere thanks to Carlos, Susanlynn, JudyB, Silverfox and others for the insight and information you share with us. I am a faithful viewer of Tontas, Cuidado and Manana and your postings remind me why such time is so well spent. Diana in MA
The first paper was heavier and had just been laying right in the box and it was what Lili showed Ciro. Lili doesn't even know this one.
Connie I like the idea that it makes Fr/Ed change is path. Even if that is not effident to Nanda right away. And she has brought up the letters again, so those still have to see the light of day. We can have a nice music montage of both of them reading all the letter they wrote to each other over the years.
Unfortunately, they're going to have to stay attached for a while longer. He has only two lips, and so many more people who might need to slap them yet.
Horses - the interesting thing I found about the Andalusian and Lipizzan breeds are that they are born black and their hair turns white as they mature but their skin remains black. Up close, it is easy to see.

Anyway, I'm glad Ed read the letter, too. And, thanks, Julie, for clearing up the matter of the chess piece. I couldn't figure it out, but obviously, it meant something - or was another message from Ciro.

When I see the ads for the Lipizzans I will let you know. I think I read somewhere that this will be their 39th US Tour.

I also wondered if he had hidden things in the chess pieces. He had given Lili a pawn to keep, but why? Was it supposed to be a reminder of her role in this "chess game," or is there something in it, maybe a rolled-up piece of paper with some useful numbers, or a key? Or did he just give it to her because he's quirky?
Ciro was upset, some weeks ago, when Dr. O threatened to take away his chess set.
Now, let's imagine that you're Ciro, getting ready to voluntarily commit yourself for whatever reason. Being a brilliant guy, not to mention quite handy, you decide to take some precautions, just in case things get ugly at the hospital.
So you make your own chess set. Maybe every single piece comes apart in some ingenious way so that you can hide something in each one that will help you escape if you need to.
I agree that it doesn't seem like the board could servive the blast, but that fact that Ciro blew out the window with no debris around him at all, maybe the writers are taking artistic license. Otherwise Lili's box and the other piece of paper are gone too.
I appreciate that this one keeps moving and keeps us wondering, rather then just repeating itself over and over and a constant river of tears!
Not wishing to obsess over this too much, I feel compelled to share this You Tube clip with you guys, clearly our Capricho is a friesian horse:

I love them, but I was never a super skilled rider. I just like hanging out with them. I always liked helping my friend dress the mane for shows.
Picabo, one of my dogs, love when the horses run on the cut to commericals on Manana, and she would always stop what she was doing to watch Capricho.
Lili finally breaks free. At long last. But for the love of God, please run close to the shoulder and not on the main road itself. We don't need you plastered all over the road.
Let's see water or alcohol with foil rolled up in balls with a wick on the top have enough charge to blow up a hospital room. I dunno. **Scratches head**.
The love sick nurse was pitiful. Singing mananitas over the phone to a friend while there is an emergency. Eduardo/Franco is not that big at all. What beeeceps and treeceps is she talking about?
Eduardo/Franco probably indirectly caused Ciro to die sooner. Who knows he might have had a chance if given real treatment. At least the sacrifice won't be in vain. He got the important intel from Ciro in the form of Soledad's letter. RIP Ciro. You were a good man. Things will be heating up.

Barbi's kiss did look painful, like a lamprey eel. Checking on habits of lamprey eels, I found this description by a fisherman: "fastening itself to the delicate fish by its mouth, which is simply an armed sucking disc with extraordinary adhesive power."
I was sorry to lose Ciro. Nice sacrifice, dude. We'll miss you.
So funny how Eduardo scammed the nurse and so good he was able to retrieve the letter.
Love the fast-paced action here. Go, Lili, and be safe.
La Paloma
They definitely are handling the cofre different in this TN vs. some of the other recent one. Cofre been opened, contents removed, content read. What gives! :-)
Paula H, from your list: "C. Just then Dr. Demented barges in and grabs the letter from his hands, before he has a chance to read it". Hah, I would have liked to have seen Dr. Demented try that. I don't think our Fr/Ed would have let him have it. LOL
It was quite amazing how Fr/Ed made it all the way to the desk. He must have used his looks to get past that guard that stopped the good Dr, too. Quite the scene with the nurse feeling him up like that. :-)
Not sure about perpetual full moons here, but there are perpetual days. The wedding took forever and now this day is never ending. Of course, I don't think any TN will have a day like the one in LFMB. Can't remember what happened that day, but took a couple (3?) of weeks to run through. I think that must have been on a "24" clock. These days are starting to get close. I wonder if we will get to the dinner tonight or not? :-)

Well, whinges was a new one for me. !8 ? }
I'm eager to see how Eddie will get out of this predicament. I was screaming at the screen for him to leave already and I was wondering if he'll be charged with Ciro's death if he escapes by pretending to be a doc and then letting the old man die. Guess he couldn't very well scream for anybody cuz then he'd have to yelp out all those unknown medical-ese instructions and the jig would be up for sure.
True, he doesn't look like a caricature of a gorilla like certain TN galans, but he certainly doesn't have to be afraid to take his shirt off in a crowded room. In fact, I think he should give a demonstration just to convince Ibarramedia. Tonight. Preferably in a bathtub. A nice looooong bath. All in favor?
I just made that comment because I never thought him to be a big guy. Just a regular guy. I lift weights and i'm 255. Connie is a personal Trainer so she knows what she is talking about. :)
You ladies can have Franco, i'll have babs, Fernanda, Gardenia,Martina and Venus. ;)
Now we got that out of the way, You still have to think that Eduardo may have caused Ciro's earlier demise because he was neglected of having medical attention.
When Ericka introduces Franco Santoro as her boyfriend,Fernanda won't be able to hlep herself but be very intrigued by that. She was very intrigued by Franco already without knowing it is Eduardo....What do you all think?
Someone must take care of Lil. She does not have any money and she was institutionalized for 15 years and not used to the outside world. She cannot go a day without food and Drink.

Julie, I'm surprised that you forgot the other Longest Day on LFMB - the board meeting of eternity. And I'm surprised that I forgot the long day of the horse commercial. But I think it's because it's a repressed memory; some sort of Post Traumatic Stress thing. You know I love all things Fea, even the things most people hate. But that horse commercial - it was like a cross-country car ride with your mother-in-law. Nunca acaba.
I have a young wrestler friend who is 6' and 175. Granted I would be a cradle robber, but he is a lovely young man!
Paula, yes, I think it was the board meeting of eternity I was thinking of when I remembered the long day on LFMB. People were sitting around in board rooms.
I would like that dinner to be tonight. I want to see everyone's face when Erika and Fr/Ed show up.
From the previews last night, Fr/Ed was sitting at home with that paper at home, so it looks like he gets out easy enough. I was waiting for him to hit the buzzer and have the nurses come in and ask what to do now? Hard to say, perhaps he was premed at Harvard? Maybe we'll find out tonight. :-)
Watching Lili wandering around, I was waiting for her to run into some bad person. They always do when they are out on their own.
JeffMN
Or maybe the boardroom day didn't seem as long to me because I already knew about El Mar and Aldo and was NOT looking forward to it!
I agree, though, that the Days of MEPS are beginning to rival those of LFMB. But as long as they don't exceed 24 episodes per "day," it's theoretically okay. :-)
"the Confederacy of Dunces" -- that's a good way of describing them.
"Has this marriage been consummated yet?" Nope - because Fernanda won't permit it.
"She wants to look him in the eyes to convince herself that such a sweet kid turned into such a cruel man." -- And I'm wondering the same thing about you, how a nice, sweet girl could turn into a cruel flirtatious BOW Jr? On second thought, don't answer that.
Eduardo Suarez -- actually his name is Eduardo Juarez.
white pawn/queen??? -- Actually I think that is the white king from Ciro's chess set.
Jody :)
I bet the head comes off! But what's inside?? I hope it's a creamy caramel center!
