Tontas no Van al Cielo - Wed. 6-17 -Well at least one tonta finally went to el cielo,or is that el infierno? ;0)

Thanks for your patience.....

Ok, so we see that Santiago is home. He calls Raul...so we know he and Sole didn't crash in their plane...I think they disappeared because he had to go over to Mexico City to start recording MEPS.... Santi tells him his sister has gone off to cielo or infierno, we can probably guess which one, eh?

Next we see Pau calling the detective and handing over the address she has for Mario where she says Alicia is.

Now Santi is back in his consultorio discussing surgery with a woman. He directs her out of the office by passing by the room with all the native dances, the room with the psychologist in it, the room with the make up artist and eventually she'll find the reception. Ha Ha.

OK, then he gets a call from Escott the detective who is apparently in NY (but it looks a lot more like a building in Guad...way too many trees and random "STOP" sign props stuck on light poles on the wrong side of the street...hysterical) at the address Pau gave him but Alicia doesn't live there anymore. It's going to take more time to find him.

Candi writes her column and Santi barges in then corrects himself, he tells her that Mari is dead and he knows nothing of his son. he says the only person who has a piece on his son is Alicia...he tells her the story and his suspicion of how "coincidental it is that Mari went away and Ali showed up with a baby....uh, yeah.... Candi can't believe it.

Pato is working at home with Patito. he's taking a call, and then starts looking through some papers. He comes upon the birth certificate of Pato and studies it - he notices that he and Ali are listed as the parents.

Candi continues her chat with Santi that this is going to be difficult with Pat, and what if you are wrong. DNA test to the rescue!! Santi says that's how they will know. Candi guesses he wants her to find Ali.

Pato and Marg discuss that Ali should have brought adoption papers and not a birth certificate with them as biological parents. Ruh roh....

Candi and Sant i keep chatting, he won't obligate her to look for her sister since they are over, awkward moments, she tells him that she got custody and marg is back so she doesn't have to go back. They high five and hug, she'll miss going there and seeing Pat most. Drama music.

Pat and MArg continue discussing this certificate oddity. Marg says it's probably false but what difference does it make, enjoy the kid.

Next we see a break down and Candi and Santi comes running out of the room. Arguing about Pat, well duh what the hell is in this chick's head...of course he's going to dislike that statement. She mutters to herself afterward he doesn't care for her any more. Oh this is just silly.

Santi is in therapy with his punching bag...Horty wants to send in a patient, but he says right now he's the patient!! Ha!!!

Pat is home with his colleague talking about the film launching and Santi shows up. He just outs with it...eh, Pato is my son. Emiliano stands there and is sort of surprised, uh yeah and offers to stick around to back up Pato, but he says it's ok for him to go. Pato wonders where he got this crazy idea. Hmmm, let's see, I went to London and found the crazy Mom who muttered after falling from a third story your ex-wife's name nad baby in the same sentence..oh and their were some dreams and a recording and... :)

Candi is now in therapy, whine whine Santi doesn't want me anymore...blah...Barb says nonsense...Pau shows up and wants to tell Candi...

Santi continues on the rant that I pretty much expected above, Pat thinks coincidence and now way too crazy... Santi is trying to convince. Finally Pato freaks out and says look no proof. But aha there is DNA!!!!

Pau continues that Santi is now counting on her support. Candi says, yeah, good, bbbuhbye!!

Santi wants a piece of hair and Pato righteously gets pissed at the audacity. Santi continues. Pat asks him to leave if he'll keep up.

Now Candi is getting therapy from everyone! Oh pulease.... they tell her not ot worry about Pau.

At Pato's Marg comes out with the baby it's all Santi can do to keep from wrenching the baby away. He leaves without his hair sample.

lalo and Santi chat and Lalo reminds him about all the folks he does have in his life.

Pato calls a lawyer an adoption specialist...she is hot and looks at the papers with a look of concern before we go to commercial.

We return and she explains the paper is legal but was gotten illegally and human trafficking is quite prevalent. She thinks maybe a woman could have given the baby over willingly. Pat is worried about losing his son and she says well there aren't compelling arguments to force him to allow DNA testing..only if Ali confesses the way she got the baby.

I don't know there is some crap here about him caring for her and then she typing a letter on her computer about how he was so great and he shouldn't suffer for his son, etc... whatever...

Pat looks for Ali Santi sleuths out Pato's place wondering how he can be alone with the baby. He sees Candi arrive in taxi. She tells him she's here and they discuss the DNA issue. Santi cries, I guess he thinks she's putting the horns on him. he drives off. C and P continue the discussion. She agrees there is a possiblilty Santi is right. Pato wants to know why. She pushes too for him to think about this.

Lu and Charly are in the kitchen and decide to wash dishes to gether. Finally Charly musters up the courage to ask about her and Fede. She doesn't answer right away, then the phone rings and she asks Charly to answer he says it's Fede. OK Candi is now in front of Santi's house, dying for him. OK, I thought teens only did this kind of crap...

We come back from commercial and Lu is yelling at Fede she doesn't want to talk to him. Charly is digging this big time.

Pau is waiting for Santi on his bed. he turns around and walks out.

Charly tells Lu he's happy she's not with guys that aren't good for her. A good guy for her is one who really cares for her. She tells him he should go and he gives her a kiss good bye that could have been on lips, but was on cheeck.

Santi tells Pau wait for him in the salon, not the bedroom, he tells her about his talk with Pato.

meno and Charly are chatting about Lu dropping Fede, who is like dogshit. They cheer.

next we are NY...which looks a lot like a Mexican hotel...the detectives argue about what it will take to find Ali...Ambrosini is going back to MX but Escott will stay.

Candi sleeps and cries with Chava...Charly comes in and sees this. He consoles her feeling she lost Santi forever.

Jaime and Issy argue. Santi calls them on it. He tells them what happened. They tell of their work to try to earn him some money. Santi tells them he needed no money. He says he's ok with money. They say actually, they owe Meno money now, so maybe he can help them. He walks away.

Licenciada shows up at Pato's to convince him to go for the test, because it would lift a great weight.

Candi's phone rings and it's Ali calling conveniently.

Marg and Pato stew on the DNA issues more. The doorbell rings...it's Ali with the detective. Pat wants to know who the babies parents are. Just like that, she says Mari and Santi.

Santi knows Ali is back and he is worried what is happening over there. They wonder if she'll lie.

Now Pato rips her a new one...how could she have done this horrible thing..she's crazy. No she says she was in love and wanted to be with him. He doesn't want to hear this, this is the lowest she could have done....ugh. Just then Candi shows up with her inquisitive cara.

Kris, how nice to have some time off work. What a welcome relief, eh?

OK, I'll plunge right in with a comment...I thought it was a little odd that Santi waited until he got back to Mexico before calling Raul with the news about Marissa. I wonder why he didn't call him when he was in London? Ah well, another weird telenovela detail.

I guess we don't have to worry about Patricio's romantic future. That long, lingering camera shot introducing the Licenciada pretty much clinches it. Still, it's bound to be a rough road until they (hopefully) connect.

Gasp! She's baaaaaack!

Yes, let's hear it for the lovely brunette Licenciada as a love interest. I was previously hoping for the "doctora" but she didn't show up to nurse him like she promised. Now if the Licenciada just had a little brother for Lulu I'd be thrilled.

She's baaaaaack! Hey, a good alternate title for the episode Kris.

Kris: Looking forward to reading your recap.

Sylvia, yes, excellent point. Santi not calling Candy from London was surprising enough but his delay in calling Raul even harder to understand.

Judy, I liked the teacher for Pat! However the Licenciada seems lovely so hope it works.

I'm hoping tonight and tomorrow may cover a lot of territory and that a happy future for Lulu (and Meno) are in the offing.

I'll reserve my comments on "her" return until the recap. Grrrr...

Poor Pato. Santi has been nothing but bad news for him. First his wife, now his baby. Also, I'm not all that keen on the lawyer lady for him. He really needs to take some time and regroup. Surely the ladydoc will need to recheck him. I thought I saw a little spark between them, and she has a sense of humor.

Carlos

Carlos, Pato has had a number of eligible beauties in his life but he seems never to have noticed them...his secretary, the teacher, the doctor. He has only had eyes for Candy (yawn). I think he needs someone a bit pushy who can nudge him in the right direction. Our lovely lawyer seems to definitely be interested. He also needs someone who can help keep Alicia at bay in case she decides to invade Pato's life. Personally I think the lawyer could take Alicia, even with all of Al's kickboxing pracice.

I agree about the regrouping but dang Doc, we only have two more days!

Sylvia, of course you are right, though they can always throw in dias después.

Carlos

Right, of course they will.

I also vote for the lovely lawyer for Pat.

I feel guilty that yesterday I said nobody would miss Marissa. Raul, I owe you an apology (how quickly I forget characters when they're not on every night!).

Okay, we're all feeling sorry for Pat. And if DNA proves he's not Patito's father, he'll really be sad. But what if DNA also proved Santi was not Rocio's father (we never really confirmed that). Okay, if so, I'd be in favor of Pat keeps Patito, Santi keeps Rocio, and screw the DNA!

After all, Santi is a godparent, and gets to see the baby all the time. And Santi and Candy will have custoday of Chava. So maybe this would be okay.

Hombre...would you be able to give up any of your children if DNA analysis proved they weren't biologically yours?

Of course not. Know how much you love 'em Hombre. No way.

I'm very sorry for Pat, but he'll just have to suffer and resolve his grief, like every other human on this earth. And hopefully he can make lots of new babies with the Licenciada! (And be Patito's loving godparent, of course.)

Sylvia, yes, Pat's been exposed to a bevy of beauties, but he "sees" none of them.

Pat's best quality is that of a loving father. From a full house to an empty nest, he's losing everyone he loves.

Hombre, excellent point in that we still don't know if Santi is Ro's father. However, I think it will be Pat who will be a second father or godfather to little Patito as "she who will be nameless" admitted Santi is the father. Still, as any child or parent knows who doesn't have the luxury of living together full time, it's simply not the same.

Diana in MA

Judy, of course you're right, I'd never want to give up my child, no matter what the DNA said. But that's my point. Pat feels Patito is "his child", so he doesn't want to give him up. Santi feels Rocio is his child (maybe she is), but wouldn't want to give her up.

Anyway, I was sort of thinking mathematically or analytically, not emotionally. The good news is that we'll find out everything in just two more nights!

I would love to see Pat have primary custody of Chava, with liberal visitation for Candy. If not, the next few months will be mighty rough for the little tyke. A. He'll get removed from the house off Abue Gogo, TioAbuelo, and bunkmate Charly.
B. His adoring mama will be spending more of her attention on her new husband (or should be).
C. Baby Patito will be the center of attention instead of him, plus Patito will demand more care.
D. He will be moving into a house of seven adults (if you count Luc), six of whom deeply love Rocio. He will go from being the adored one of the colorful house, to the lowest ranking family member of the big house. For a kid with brat tendencies, you don't think that will create problems?
E. When those problems arise, Santiago will HAVE to be part of the correction. If he doesn't, I see huge friction on the horizon. Chava will have to learn to respect Santi's authority and he'll resent it bad, especially since he's jealous for his mother's attention.
F. You can be sure there will be another baby in the near future, to rob even more attention from Chava. Even his mama will seem to adore someone more than him.

No, all the way around, Chava would be better off, being raised by Pat. Of course, what's best for Chava is secondary when you're Miss Centro Universo.

Oh, I just had a horrible thought. Remember, ladies, the crabbiness that can accompany pregnancy? If Candy gets pregnant early in the marriage (as novela heroines always do), pobre Santiago! Among mere mortals, that marriage wouldn't even last one year!

Can't say I'm mad about Patricio and the abogada if only because she looks like she could be the sister of JQ's Harpy on Jet Fuel.

Schoolteacher, si, o doctora, si.

It's always fun to read the comments here. Has anyone mentionned that the detective was Rene Stickler's evil henchman [boss?] on Amar sin Limites ? I surfed in on Tuesday night just in time to see Marissa's battered face and hear her last words and watch Santiago in agony. I think that there is no way Santi will not get his baby boy back in the end. Both he and Pat love the little boy, and I think that they will both be in this little guy's life . However, they will just switch roles . I feel sorry for Pat since Beto has a new stepfather, Chava will probably stay with his mamacita, and Pato will return to his dad. I think that he will get joint custody of Beto and Chava and be an active and supportive dad anyway. The writers must find him a nice mujer with whom he can have lots of babies . Pat is great with the kids. My s-in-law's brother is divorced and didn't get custody of his 4 kids. He told me once that his exwife was a bad wife but a good mother. He lives with his girlfriend and her son. So many stepfamilies these days. Last night, I surfed in just in time to see Alicia roll back into the picture.

That Candy sure doesn't know how to do sympathy. The letter she was writing was quite the piece of work: "Even though you have hurt me a great deal, I don't want you to suffer..." Sheesh, Candy, he hasn't done anything except not cave first. Learn to edit and take out the bitchy whiny self-centered parts when you're trying to offer comfort. Contrast this with Charly, who simply offered a hug when Candy was upset even though it was her own fault. Okay, that's my Candy rant for the day.

Maybe living in a big house with lots of other people who need attention will actually be good for Chava...he needs to stop being Centro Universo for Miss Centro Universo sometime.

Also, why don't Isa and Jaime have any money? Wasn't Jaime a fairly successful businessman? Didn't he have his own nice house before they decided to live with the family? Doesn't Isa have money of her own, or is it all still tied up in the Institute and they haven't paid her dividends or anything?

Thanks for the recap Kris, yes, one tonta down. Will any more make it to el cielo before the end?

Yes, another potential love interest for Pato. I guess they are trying to show that he will not be alone when/if(?) Candy goes to Santi.
I agree Mike, when I saw the Licenciada, I thought Que? Paula from JQ. I think it was the hair and she kind of hung her head the same way. :)

4 more Capitulos to stuff into 3 hours. I guess it can be done. Also, their are 6 alternative endings on Esmas. If they don't show them, I'll have to take a look at them some day.

JeffMN

Alright I finished for now..I'll have ot come back and tweak and comment....enjoy! and thanks for waiting!!!!

Oh! Regarding episodes. Tuesday and Wednesday covered three Mexican cap's. So now we are caught up. Three cap's left (except alternate endings), three hours of show. We're good.

Kris, a terrific recap - thank you. Your hard work on this and all of the other great recaps you've done over the previous months is greatly appreciated.

Mike, the licenciada did look somewhat familiar but I couldn't think of who she reminded me of. Your comment was spot on!

Paula, your argument is very persuasive. Your honesty and passion are so evident in all of your writings. Although I think Chava will be loved and cared for in both homes, my heart says he should be (at least on paper) with Candy. Yes, even with all of her many faults. I think we all bring a piece of ourselves to this debate. My parents were divorced and I could never have conceived living elsewhere other than with my mother. Still, your reasoning is solid. Either would be a good choice.

I can't even say her name so will continue with "she who will be nameless". Blech. To me, she was one of the most evil in this entire telenova. Can anyone tell me if she just returned to confirm Patito's parentage or has Mario already cut her loose?

In either case, it appears she's lost Pat forever and for that, I'm truly grateful.

Diana in MA

Paula, I somewhat disagree, at least looking at Esmas Caps. Last night was through 135. We still have 136, 137, 138, and Gran final (139) to go. Looks like 4 hours in 3 hours?

JeffMN

Kris, an excellent recap. Well done and wryly funny. Hombre, I think I understand you but would point out differences in circumstances in the 2 cases. With Rocio, if by chance Santi is not her father, he is certainly not culpable. He married Pau in food faith and believes that he is Rocio's father. If he is not , both Pau and Mario have claims though Pau is guilty of desertion and it is unlikely that Mario will assert his rights. A case for the courts but I think Santi has a good chance of prevailing. As for Patito, slam dunk. Crimes were committed. Pato has some criminal exposure for even participating in this ridiculous charade. Please remember he went along thinking if he agreed he would be free of Alicia. I sympathize with him but in no way does he have a claim. Paula, I understand your feelings about Candy, but must vote with her. I wonder if the writers were aware that they were dividing their viewers. Carlos

Hi Jeff. Can you post the esmas link to the specific page?

Here's what I base mine on. The clips on YouTube (of course that's not holy writ). lastontasfan Cap #136, Clip 6, ends with Alicia arriving at Pat's house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8c198YThu8 . After that, lastontasfan has cap's 137, 138, and 139 (the finale), plus the four alternate endings (#140?). I confess I've watched ahead on YouTube, and the continuity is normal. lastontasfan isn't missing any episodes.

If you can post the exact esmas page, maybe we can untangle this more.

Let's not forget the impending tragic plane crash involving Soldad and Raul. Carlos

Thank you so much Kris!
I wonder how the detective got Ali to come back to Pat's with him?
I wonder if she is in legal trouble since Marissa basically gave her the baby?
With all the time killing they have done in other areas, it would have been nice if the writers had given a little more of these details.
I guess I'm hoping Chava will stay with Candy. I'm putting myself in her shoes and know how I would feel losing my son.
She raised him since birth and as great as Pat has become he really hasn't known him that long. He didn't have the chance I understand but I still side with the mother.
I guess Chava will become just part of the big happy family (minus Pau) at Santi's.
How to get rid of Pau is another question. She seems to have figured out that the best way to get close to Santi is to be his helpful, loving friend.

Carrie L.

Paula, here is where I was looking:
http://www2.esmas.com/las-tontas-no-van-al-cielo/capitulos/capitulos_lista.php?article_page=2

I have not looked at the upcoming capitulos, so only assume they are all different. Last night ended with the 18 de agosto de 2008 episode. Still to run then are August 19, 20, 21, and Gran final.

JeffMN

Jeff, thank you. That clarifies it. What esmas calls the Grand Finale is the four alternate endings. So I suspect that on Friday, Hour 2, we'll see the esmas 8/21. It works out. Three hours, three episodes. Of course, they might fool us.

Paula, I think we will have to see part of that esmas gran final, mainly because the wedding occurs in that.
Also, if you go to the previous page of capitulos, here:
http://www2.esmas.com/las-tontas-no-van-al-cielo/capitulos/capitulos_lista.php

You will see 6 other alternative endings besides the 4 endings on the Gran Final page. The Gran Final page has 3 alternate endings, plus the real ending. So... 9 alternate ends and 1 real ending!!?? Wow.

Anyway, a lot of stuff still to come.

JeffMN

Jeff, wedding? What wedding? Carlos

Carlos, gee, did I do a spoiler? :( :) I don't know if I've seen a TN yet did not end with one. But, I've only seen about 10 endings with 3 more coming up very soon for me. Ah, then again, I don't think Navidad Sin Fin had a wedding at the end.
Anyway.... I purposely left off who did get married!! You would have to figure that out. :)

Also, looks look the 6 alternate endings I thought were on the one page are just 6 capitulos for 1 of the alternate endings.

JeffMN

Jeff, I had suspected that there might be a wedding. I just hope that it doesn't eat up too much time. We need other things resolved. Carlos

I thought it odd too that he didn't call Raul in Europe, I mean, weren't they in Europe on their honey moon? Wouldn't Raul have wanted to take the train over to London from Greece or Spain to see his dying sister? Raul was too busy picking up pueblo girls on the carretera to the rancho Powermilk or whatever... :)

I forgot a pic!!

Carlos, if they skip the alternate endings, they should get it all in. As Paula mentioned, they appear to have gotten back on track. Not sure if they'll put in a wedding or not. Darn, I have looked ahead in the Esmas capitulos now and it looks to be a wild/non-stop ride on Friday.

JeffMN

Awesome recap Kris. You might have been late but you didn't skimp! Love the pics as usual.
