MEPS 9/28: Fr/Ed gets what Damian didn't. Gardenia gives up.
"Barbara told us you commanded we tip our glasses," whines Bagel-Bun. The bodies on the floor are dragged away.
Barb throws Lili on a bed: "You won't get hurt if you behave. Shout as loud as you like, there's nobody to hear you. Now, put on your PJs and go to bed." Cero appears and reassures Lili.
Barb calls Artemio and reports that she has the cargo. He's furious; when he tells Fr/Ed, Fr/Ed narrows his eyes and shakes his lips in dudgeon.
Fr/Ed's cat-burglars are pacing at his house, worried. Fr/Ed appears and tells the whole story. Fer calls Barb. Barb, driving, grinning maniacally: "I was expecting your call." Barb's on her way to Fr/Ed's house to negotiate, so cat-burglar Santi has to make like a banana and split. The Mud Queens also leave.
Fr/Ed updates Father Bosco, who advises: "Get Lili back and then get out of here while Fer still thinks highly of you, thinks you're an honest guy. Let her remember you kindly."
Barb arrives, Esteve leaves. Barb congratulates Fer on her ferocity: "You must have inherited it from me." Long story short: "I'll give Lili back, and disappear forever, if you two convince Aurora to leave the nunnery with me." "But she's bearing Santi's child!" "No, she's bearing MY grandchild. You have till noon tomorrow. If you fail, then I'll just kidnap her anyway and you'll never see Lily again." Barb leaves.
Fr/Ed tells Fer, "We should tell Barbara's plans to Artemio and provoke a fight between them." "Oh, I get it, because Artemio thinks Aurora is dead!"
Meanwhile Artemio is soliloquizing about Barbara: "One who betrays me doesn't live to betray another day." He sounds like Darth Vader.
Suddenly Fr/Ed is at Artemio's office and tells him Barb's motive is - Aurora Mendoza! Artemio is impactado and grouses: "Barbara's the worst mistake of my life. She's a fatal weapon, I educated her that way, but I always knew if she found out her daughter was alive all her hate would be focused on me."
"What do you care about Aurora?" asks Fr/Ed. "I'm her father. I've only seen her three times, but to know she existed was an intense consolation to my soul. Aurora is the only thing I made without hatred in my whole life. Barbara knows I ripped that kid from her arms at the moment of birth and said she was dead. All I can expect from Barbara is destruction."
Scene change. Fer to Fr/Ed: "What a whirlpool all this is! Before the s--t hits the fan I want to say how much I've appreciated you and come to depend on you." "Let me look at you," he murmurs nicely, "for as long as I can. Soon we separate forever. I love you more than you can imagine, I've loved you since forever and will love you until forever." Kisssss.
Etcetera. Where did this giant bed with red satin sheets come from? More etcetera. Commercial. More etcetera. Two aging virgins finally get some. They spend the night in the red bed of amor and then swirl about in a hot-tub (I guess) overlooking a fabulous CGI view.
Meanwhile somewhere Gardenia is crying and saying, "Eduardo, I'll love you forever, even though there's no future in it! You're not going to leave!"
Barb packs her diamonds into a suitcase. Daffy arrives and mildly wonders why he didn't see her last night, she says it was some business meeting, now she's going out, he says he'll see her at dinner, she thought bubbles "You'll be waiting a long time, because today I start a new life." Meanwhile Daffy thoughtbubbles: "Ah, Barbara, she's a haven of peace in my sea of troubles." Heh.
Fr/Ed to Artemio: "we can work together and keep Barbara from absconding with Aurora." "What do you care?" "She's expecting Santi's baby!"
"Oh, eeuwww, my grandchild is an ELIZALDE? My blood is mixing with theirs again? This is an irony of the worst writers! I want to barf!" Fr/Ed says the two of them can work together to stop Barbara. "But what do I get out of it?" "Your mother's diary and the Head of Ed."
"Why is Eduardo hiding?" "He isn't hiding, he's agazapado, crouching down, waiting for the right moment to attack! He's been waiting ever since Barbara Greco unfairly accused him of abusing Fernanda Elizalde!"
"You seem to know him well." "Well enough to know that you and the Elizaldes caused him the greatest pain a person can take." "No, ME! I had the worst pain!! And in total war, there are always innocent victims! That boy defied me and made me his enemy to the death!"
Fr/Ed implies he knows where Barbara is, but he won't tell Artemio because she has Lili, somewhere... Artemio says Barbara will be coming by to get her dossier, because it will be important to her to start her new life with a clean identity. "So I'll make her tell me where Lili is, and then you have to give me the Head of Ed."
At the office, por teléfono Fer explains all to Santi.
Gardenia comes in. "Why aren't you wearing your uniform?" "Because after I say what I've come to say, you're going to fire me." Long story short, after asking "did you know Santorito is in love with you?" she tells Fer: "Fr/Ed is Ed, I've seen his passport." And Margarita and Jacinto have known all along. And this all came about when he came back from Gringoland and saw what had happened to his mother, and he decided he'd had it with the Elizaldes. "He couldn't even go to see his mother buried." Fer remembers her agony, seeing his name inscribed on his mother's tomb...
Gardenia says she told Errika Ed was in love with Fer, and admits that she (Gardenia) has been in love with him forever. "With all my heart, but he was always in love with you. But I don't want him to leave and the only way to keep him here is if he marries you." Fer has the commercial break during which to think it over.
Greco's Renowned Drowsy-Drink-Drops appear again: Barb forces Lili to drink them. The ghost of Cero points out to Lili, "Drink or she'll kill you."
Damian's sleazeball cousin says the plans are underway. Damian: "Give Lucio a message, he'll know what to do." That's it for them tonight.
As Gardenia leaves Fer's office, Fr/Ed shows up and wants to talk to Fer, who takes a minute to collect herself. She says he can come in. He wants to tell her all the plans, he's in a good mood and wants a kiss, she slithers away from him and gets angrier and angrier. He keeps asking why. "You want to know why, MR. FRANCO SANTORO?"
end of episode.

What a lot of "finally"-s, on a lot of counts. I had no idea sex with Colunga was so good it automatically transported you to Greece. Or at least it looked like Santorini to me :) (Santoro, Santorini...coincidence?)
I cracked up when Artemio said this claptrap was written by a crappy writer...did they not think we'd catch that?
Wow, it happened. The big Fr/Ed identity reveal came from DDenia (as some suspected it would), but I was really hoping it would come from Eduardo himself.
Nice love scene at last, but why all the honeymoon hotel/hottub shots? It was so confusing that for the longest time I thought the love making was yet another dream sequence one of them was having.
Can it be true that Artemio really is Aurora's father?? That raises the questions 1)how he could have treated his own daughter so badly all those years and 2) is this TN really going to let these half cousins have a baby? Hard to believe.
Yea! Gardenia. I knew you would shine. She and Nanda where both compelling in their scene together. My favorite line of the evening was DDenia telling Nanda that she had hoped to get her Corn Nuts (Kikos) from Eduardo. I haven't the foggiest of what she meant, but it sounded cool.
Thanks again, Mom. You're still tops.
Carlos
HAHAHAHAHA! This part is the best. I just lose it when I see Colunga's face here. Fantastic recap Melinama!
But their bed scene was not on CGI, they taped that scene in a hotel in Valle de Bravo. How or why did they get there? I don't know. Why the candles? or the bed courtains?
Fernanda knows now about Santorito's identity, just one week until the finale.
Jarocha
its hard to believe all the loose ends are coming together....the most important to me is Fer knowing franco is Eduardo.....they will have to make up and marry....how else will this end....Gardenia all along has threatned to tell...and she did...
it was a long road to get to this point but its been a good novela.... I just hope Barbie gets hers in the end....AB said he raised her to be a fatel weapon and she is.....Can hardly wait til tomorrow nite to see if Fer gives into Eduardo........BNinCA
I definitely enjoyed the love scene. It remains on my DVR for further viewing!! But it WAS confusing. One minute he's kissing her outside Las Animas and the next they're beside a large lake we've never seen before. But it was pretty hot all the same, but like HGR, I was expecting it was a fakeout, dream sequence.
Maybe Babs fooled AB into thinking the expected baby was his so that he wouldn't force her to abort or do away with the kid. Maybe Santi and Aurora aren't really related or maybe the writers just don't care.
If Lucio and Jacobo really DO snatch Abora, Babs is going to come unglued. What a monster she is! She said she'd be willing to strangle some nuns and take her by force if Abora wouldn't go willingly. But what a dumb plan! She's going to keep her and the nieto locked up for the rest of their lives?
Artemio and Fr/Ed really sparked off one another and Fer was marvelous in the scene with DDenia. Come on now, Denia, if you're going to out Fr/Ed, couldn't you at least give up the letters he sent her??
I was glad Ciro could travel along with Lili and provide comfort. She deserves something along with the short end of the stick she keeps getting.
Liked the "etcetera" description for the kissing/lovemaking scenes, although we waited so long that a few fireworks might be in order. Transporting the lovers to a magical lakeside scene is a gesture worthy of FELS. Of course, the sweetness of the red bed turns to bitterness with the next day's reveal on Eduardo.
No amount of artisan cheese can compensate for this hurt.
La Paloma
Someone remind me why DDenia telling was a good thing?
I'm really going to have to see Barb suffer b/c I can't stand her continued tormenting of Lil. Can't our friendly ghost do something productive like help Lil escape?
Yeah, what a weird time to get together. But maybe, they both figured they were running out of time, since Fr/Ed is always talking about leaving and Erika is out of the picture as well. Maybe Fr/Ed and Fer were teleported to the hotel by the lake. It makes one wonder just how far they had to drive to get there. It seems we missed a hot scene (U S editors again) but they left part of it in the advances. I'm heading for YouTube to see the original.

Great recap and looking forward to lunch when I can watch this (or tear my hair out if the tape didn't work).
I thought the love scene was going to be our big surprise of the night - I started to turn my attention to something else. I wasn't expecting Fernanda to find out about Eduardo too on the same night. Two big ones in the same night!
Though I suppose in Mexico it would have been two nights, with one surprise per night. I wonder if that means we get two more surprises tonight? Can I take the excitement??
Judy, ¿que es "criterion behavior"?
"Aurora is the only thing I made without hatred in my whole life." So I gave her to a psychotic, abusive, raging alcoholic who physically and emotionally berated and tormented her her whole young life? Que the hell?
"Ah, Barbara, she's a haven of peace in my sea of troubles." Yep, that bout sums up Gonzo, Big Dummy!
"Oh, eeuwww, my grandchild is an ELIZALDE? My blood is mixing with theirs again? AHHAHHHHAHAH! Get over it, your Mom's first and only man was an Elizalde and you got a whole passel of Elizalde relatives. .
"That boy defied me and made me his enemy to the death!" Fr/Ed said Eduardo was just a little boy when all this went down (not to mention his own mother was a little girl when Jerry "knew" Anagregoria): I STILL DON'T GET HIS BEEF WITH ED!! Ok, calm down, it's only a novela, only a novela. . .
"Get Lili back and then get out of here while Fer still thinks highly of you, thinks you're an honest guy. Let her remember you kindly." Uh, Padre, Franco wants to, uh, never mind.
And oh, that DD! We knew she would do it! That heffa! "But I don't want him to leave and the only way to keep him here is if he marries you." WTF! So I can continue to oogle him and maybe become a LIVE IN servant in y'alls hacienda? This girl is nuts!
That Gardamn-ya didn't even let them have the pleasure of delicious morning after kisses, and giggly knowing glances and smoldering smiles of expectation fulfilled: She must have a woman scorned sense that told her they'd gotten it on.
"Two aging virgins finally get some."
Chapel Hill, I want to part company with you here and just say. . .
Yaaaaaah BAAAABEEEEE!!! I luuuuuved the luv scene! I don't care how the big bed with satin sheets, and rose petals and candles got there. I purposely haven't been listening to the theme song so when they finally did make love I would unmute. It worked: the scene and the song enhanced one another! Oh, that MAN'S BODY!!! Ahma favoritize the You Tube clip and watch it and watch it...sans DD.

The writers apparently had another gig waiting in the wings & had to do a rush job on the final weeks of MEPS. How else can we explain the high speed pace of the last few days?
Once again, every single plan ever hatched by ANYONE has gone awry. OOPS it is.
My DTV box better work tonight!

I forgot to thank you for the speedy, funny recap..."Head of ED" Drowsy Drink Drops, Make like a banana and split" How in the world do our recappers translate from Spanish to English while cracking jokes all along! Thanks so very much for all the hard work.
Wonder why the MI team didn't find all the dead and dying swat members while in AB's house, go figure!
Sandy in TN
I was wondering if all the house guests were gazing out the window.
Did you notice in one pool scene Fernanda's boob was blurred. Silvia probably just ripped her clothes off for that scene.
Big mouth Gardenia, but a least we don't have much time for Fernanda to stay mad.
It's going to be another busy night.
In the coming attractions for Sortilegio, we see another beautiful male body but it's Colunga that really does it for me. más suspiros ^^
Great comments so far, ITA with all.
THIS EPISODE is a prime example of why we wear telenovela beanie hats.
After years of parking Aurora under Dominga’s drunken supervision with nary a visit, NOW Artemio cares about Aurora?
My sister is still missing, thanks for your help, Franco, so... um.... okay.... let's go do it because this show's going to end in a week and you might die and I'd miss my noche de bodas and die a virgin.
So they finally did the deed. "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." . . . actually right there in ... where where they??? Brigadoon?
Since when is Las Animas on a lake??? With an Italian hillside w/village across the lake? And the "Room with a view"??? WT****? All I could think was that Scottie beamed them up.
My DH just said, "I guess when the magic finally happens, everything looks like an Italian hillside." DH thinks we girls would have just as soon seen them fall right down onto the kitchen floor and go at it. (... we've been married 32 years....'nuff said) He's probably right.
Also,,, what straight guy keeps red satin sheets on his bed, and tulle netting (or chiffon) draped around the canopy frame??? Actually, what self-respecting non-flaming gay guy would have that stuff? Oh. Right. FrEd rents the house. I guess it came that way. urghhh.....
We female MEPSeras were counting on DDenia to spill the beans. Score!
Is it possible that Damian is Aurora's father and AB only thinks he's Aurora's dad? (or have we covered that ground already?...) I'm still not comfortable with the cousins mating thing.
Vocabulary question: I kept hearing the word "experiente". What does that mean?.... it's not in my dictionary
I was like everyone else--what room was that in the house? Was that a swimming pool or a giant bathtub? I was quietly painting trim and looked up and there they were in the red bed. I squealed with delight and stopped painting and the dogs were looking at me like, what? Is it time to eat yet? I said no I have to watch this scene. Go back to sleep." Wow! Wow! There are no words to describe that scene. I kept waiting for Esteve to come barging in.
To borrow a quote from one of my favorite (bad) movies Alien v. Predator: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." No truer words were ever spoken. So now Fr/Ed and Artemio are all buddy-buddy trying to catch Barbie. I'm still trying to figure out how Eduardo defied Artemio. Does anyone know?
AB and Franco took my yesterday's suggestion to sit down with a shot of tequila and talk about their moms and the Elizaldes. They should have done that a couple of months ago.
Sandy in TN
"Where did this giant bed with red satin sheets come from?" --My thoughts exactly. Talk about rubbernecking double-takes! I was left thinking Fer must have been so hard up she couldn't turn down a one-night stand in Wonderland. I wonder if he promised to write.
"I wonder if he promised to write." too funny. Eduardo/Franco sure looked shocked in Fer's office the next day when that flame had turned to ASHES when she learned the truth.
That little scene was well done in my opinion. I was worried about the "kiss, kiss". It will happen but at least the smoke will need to clear a bit. There isn't enough time for her to give him the cold, cold shoulder for more that a couple of days.

I need to stop commenting and go back to work!

Is it about time to nominate best actors/actresses??
I nominate the actors playing Fer, Gonzo/Artemio, La Hiena, Gardenia - in that order. Fer was unbelievably believable in spite of all the ridiculous situations she was placed. The Gonzo/Artemio showed a lot of range by playing both roles. La Hiena caused us to really hate her (in spite of knowing her as the smiling and lovely singer that she is). I didn't care for the role of Gardenia much, but the actress playing her did so with mucho gusto.
Other character actors were ok - Jacinto, Priscilla, Margarita, Martina, Venus/Lovely, etc.
Negative marks for the actor playing Steve - I didn't care for his portrayal.
No kudos for Culonga playing Fr/Ed - possibly by the poor writing of his role - but he is capable of much better acting.
I guess the actor I'm most confused about in evaluating is the actor portraying Camilo. Either he is so smooth an actor that he really does make us hate him without really trying - or he simply played himself and was naturally hateable.
Silverfox...
I felt for Fer because Ed shouldn't have slept with her as Franco. I'm really dissapointed in Ed since I believe that if Gardenia hadn't tell Fer the truth she would have never found out. He didn't ever seem like he was ever going to tell her.
Artemio is a nutjob. To me he is way worse than Barbara. He turned her into a vengeance machine and he gave her a reason to turn against him so it is all his fault. I hate that Fr/Ed is like his buddy now even though I know is just to get to Bárbara. I wish it would have been the other way as it looked first with Babs and Franco against Artemio and then him/Fer against Babs.

In the Catholic sense, he's like a guardian angel for Lili. In the supernatural sense, ghosts are here because they have unfinished business. I think once Lili is truly free, Ciro's work will be done, he'll get his wings (It's a wonderful life) and Lili won't see him anymore.

Nah, he's not a perfect galan and we know she's going to forgive Eduardo, so what the hell, look at it like this: they get to lose their virginity again with a different emotional nuance the next time around!

I watched on Youtube, and Artemio
Bravo had to open a locked, somewhat hidden room to find the sleeping guards and the lady with the bun. That's why the M-I team missed them.
Doris: The word they keep saving is expediente, which means dossier, record, or archive. Artemio has Barbara's, which probably shows the name change, maybe her birth certificate, etc. Much of his power over her comes from his having her expediente. But he agreed to give it to her in exchange for the Elizalde assets.
As for the love scene, maybe Las Animas has a virtual realty room!
As for the location of the tub, I actually thought it looked like they were on a patio or balcony... if he even has such a thing... or maybe he has a hot tub on the roof!
I'm just glad we didn't have to wait until the very last episode to see this. I wanted them to be able to steal at least a little nookie before then!
The color red has always been associated with romance. Some guys have alterior motives to get a woman in bed. Red sheets and candlelight would do it for a lot of us. I dislike stereotyping. I don't believe a guy has to be gay to have red sheets.
Gardenia is evil. She took it upon herself to spill the beans as if it were any of her business. I believe she thought that if she got rid of Fer, she might have another shot at the guy who has already rejected her at least 5 times. How anyone can see her actions as helpful is beyond me. But I guess if I were obsessed with big boobs, my brain would translate big boobs with heroic action.
Silverfox, I love your list of nominations. Just strike Gardenia and add Erika.
What about my "dinero" hypothesis, somehow Eduardo is the rightful owner of AB's fortune, left by his mysterious dad, Ramon.
Just a thought...
Sandy in TN
Yep, the love scene was great but two things especially amused me. One..... the BIIIIGGGG smiles that both Fernanda and Franco had...like the two actors were about to bust out laughing but didn't. Imagine these scenes do end up with a lot of laughter between takes.
The other thing was Colunga sucking in his stomach like mad as he approached Fernanda. (I know what this looks like 'cause I do it all the time!) A nice little human touch, trying to look bigger chested and smaller waisted. You go guy!
I made peace with the strange bedroom environs this way. In the rapture of first love, that's how an ordinary bedroom in the same old house looked to our delirious lovers. After all, remember when you first fell in love? The sky was brighter, the leaves on the trees more beautiful, music had a special timbre and rapture...the best drug there is...infatuation. Wish it's shelf life were longer.
FINALLY...Khalilah...your first post especially had me absolutely cracking up. You are one funny lady. You too Maggarita.
Yowsa...whadda day.
Ciro committed himself to Miraflores to get away from his dopey wife & dopier son. If you had seen them you could understand why. That's why Ciro left all his dinero to Eduardo, he know he could trust him to take care of Lili.
At 1st I thought the red satin sheets & rose petals were another dream sequence. Thankfully not.

How ironic, with Artemio's apellido being 'Bravo.'
This clip seems to include more scenes so we saw an edited version last night. I am sure Univision doesn't want our minds polluted. What about the script in that case, Univision!

I'm back in the states and saw the episode in real time. I agree with others who didn't like the fact that Fer gave up viginity based on a lie.
I'm old fashioned for my generation, but I thought that they might have a real "noche de boda" at the end of the story. This one, with it's timing, and dream-sequence-like quality, seemed fake. I really did think that it was one of Fernanda's dreams. IMHO, it was a great sequence for a dream! But seemed too cheesy for real life. And does that underwater thing really work without breathing in H20???
Also, I keep wondering why Gonzalo has not been told any of the latest updates. They've seen what Barbara can do ... don't they think that she might try to do away with "Dear old Dad?"
-Netgirl
Back on the East Coast (for now.)
I don't know, but maybe this is a Silvia Navarro thing since I think she has done it with almost all of her leading male co-stars.
I'm very courious about the censored version in Univision. It surprises me how they censor novelas since I've seen pretty racy stuff in tv shows produced in the United States.

I was laughing the whole time during friday's episode with the MI/Swat/Sec-Ops/Blooper team all in black ansd some in really dark blue. I'm pretty serious but could not help laughing. It was just unreal to me.
I Have always believed that Artemio Bravo is the root of all evil here. Not Babs. Glad Jarocha shares my views on this. Babs is more visible and the female viewrs here can easily transfer their hatred and rage to her. i'm just joping that someway, somehow babs will redeem herself. Ok I love babs so i'm biased.
Fernanda finally did the deed with Ed/Fr. I was visualizing tha I was Ed and Fernanda is so fine. Ooh she's freaking hot! i want her.
I could have sworn that hills are behind Las Animas not a lake.
Like Carlos, i like Gardenia too. Too bad Franco Santoro can't have a harem of beauties. ;) J/K.
Venus and Martina are hot too. Shoot i'll take Erika along. Chelsea is not bad either.
Anyway, The plot thickens. Aurora and Babs deserve to have some time together as they both were searching for each other. Shades of 'Luke, i am your father' Except Aurora, I am your mother. Artemio Bravo is guilty of orchestrating Liliana to the manicomo as he is of Manipulating a 11 year old Babs, then being a pedophile and getting her pregnant with her child Aurora then getting rid of Aurora. Worse than Stockholm syndrome plus brainwashing. Babs already was abused practically her whole life and finally cracked at 11. How can someone learn to love when she was taught to hate? Nature vs nurture plus the environment equates to a higher probability of criminal activity. Most of the Criminal theories say that. And i don't have time to get into all of that here.
That girl that was kept in the back shed for almost 20 years and was raped by her abductor and has 2 kids by him is similar to Babs experience. Except that girl was not raised to be a killer. You can imagine how im[possible it would be to deprogram all those years of influence.
She is psychologiacally fragile.
Ibarramedia
Agreed to Jarocha. I've seen more risque scenes in regular Amercian tv and movies. Not sure why they got ultra conservative at univision. On the other hand, I'm a littel surprised that Mexico is not at all prudish about the nude scenes. (good thing) I appreciate you hanging with us despite ytou seeing the whole thing end last may since you are in Mexico.
Despite Camilo and Damien not having killed anyone else, I think they are worse than Babs. And no, not because i'm biased but in real life there are guys like them that I hate and detest. I could not stand them day to day and would probaly be in a constant fist fight with them. Babs, if you compartmentalize and exclude her 2 murders and locking Lili up is not at all unpleasant to be around with. She would be better company than Gabriela from Fels and Carlota in Amor. Anibal is another one, though Camilo and Damien are really destesteble. Their everyday actions and mannerisms really irk me.
I am guilty of some of Anibals traits when it comes to the workplace. I always try to be un emotional and logical and business as usual. I always try to keep an even keel and business as usual whenever fgood or bad things happen. Focus on the job. and things from a business perspective. Maybe i'm already hated for that but I offer no apologies. Like what boxing referee Joe Cortez says,'I'm firm but fair'.
I agree with most of you that Steve or Esteve/Esteban/Tibo who was once a guy of common sense suddenly got dumbed down due to his love for Venus. He seems to be regaining his senses though.
Who knows the wild card no one expect to help might be Priscilla. We shall see.
Ibarramedia
I too was SHOCKED that the love-making was not a dream. After all these years I couldnt believe Fr/Ed would take Fer's virginity with a lie! I also am old fashioned and was hoping for a nice wedding then the honeymoon of the century. Bad move.
That bedroom is NOT Franco's regular bedroom we have seen before. Wonder if he has a "love nest" hidden behind a wall in his home? Kinky! kinda Austin Powers of him baby!

Btw I like Fernanda because she is so sweet and kind. But she alos has a ferocious temper as seen in a few episodes. It may take her a while to get mad and when she does look out. Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite?

I can relate to the situation because When my Grandfather passed and the question of inheritance came up certain illegitimate children of of my grand pa laid claim. They were my mom's half siblings that we never heard of before but certain relatives kept their existence a secret. Long story short. We went to court and our worldwide holding were frozen and this stuff has gone on almost 20 years. Most is setled by now but not all is done yet. We decided to settle monetarily with a condition that they not ask for more holdings and they want to be recogn ized as relatives. Accepto mi familia. But this is not about me. Bottom line is if Artemio came forward much earlier, I'm sure something could have been done. Camilo and Anibal may be the only obstacles. Montserrat maybe a little as she has no business dealings. Just a dona a home. She would have succumbed to her illness sooner or later anyway.
the story would have become a tale of star crossed lovers and how they get around that. We would probably see some Eduardo sneakijng around the house to be with Fernanda and the emphasis would have been on her trying to get her family's approval to love him. But that's how it is.....
Ibarramedia
Onethijng still remains unanswered. How did Artemio gain wealth and power to triumph against adversity? He did a Victor Newman and made a name for himself without any help. If I were Artemio, with that kind of wealth and power, I would just forget about the Elizaldes.
So who is really the cause mof all these problems? Is it Geronimo? Without him fathering Artemio, all would be normal... Of course back then you had to keep things discreet to avoid scandal. Nowadays it is more or less accepted. Judging by Altagracia's hairstyle, I place that period during the 40's.

My thoughts on the acting:
Academy Award: Fernanda (No explanations needed) and Priscilla. (Yes Pris because the actress needed to show a mother's love and sacrifice after her introduction as a spoiled rich girl and she did just that)
Second Place: Gonzo/Artemo(Stupid and evil in one actor),Damian (A lot of the posters here think that MEPS is a farce not to be taken seriously, and Damian brought a lot of fun and irony to his role)
Unfortunate last place: Ed/FR (No explanations needed) and Babs (For me,a one dimensional performance)
Honorable Mention: Erica(The change of heart scene in the wedding and then Chapel was wonderful)
Just my 4 centavos!

He wants to kill Eduardo because of what he knows. Well.... Artemio knows now that Franco Santoro has read the diary, and still HAS the diary, so why isn't Artemio wanting to kill him? It makes no sense to me. Beanie hat time...
I have given Fr/Ed a pass because I think that things could have been totally different if Fernanda were not married to Damien. She said that it was a marriage in name only but she is still married so last night was adultry. Will last night make her do the right thing and divorce the creep or will we find out tonight that it was all dream?
I like DDenia, after all she makes up her mind and sticks with it. I hope they find someone for her before this over.
These novellas are so much better than American TV I would probably be happy with anything.

I was thinking with eyedrops, even though it would have spilled already, maybe there would still be enough left in the eyes to mimic crying. Oh well. :)

In attempting to think what he is thinking or the reasons behind his thinking, i would say he wanted Soledad silenced so that she could not tell the Elizaldes who was causing them trouble. In other words, he wanted to remain a unknown mysterious trouble maker hell bent on getting his revenge on a innocent family. His misplaced beef is with the entire Elizalde Family when he should have settled the score with Geronimo and Altagracia Elizalde who had since passed away.
He only knows about the Elizalde family because of his precious diary. The pen is a little hard to believe. A lot of pens would have replaced that one. I myself had a few montblanc and Parker pens that were $100 that have come and gone.
I can understand the sentimental value and information contained in the diary but not the pen.
So we are basically seeing a bitter and demented guy who devoted all his life to destroying the Elizaldes, getting rich and propelling himself out of poverty all for this. A sad existence but that is the life of Artemio Bravo.

But the lone, perfect tear that isn't accompanied by drooling, snot, throbbing veins, and scary-sounding throat spasms... yeah, that's gotta be glycerine.
