Mañana es Para Siempre, Thursday, September 10--Ep #142: Yeah, they totally faked us out.

Erika reminds Fer about all the good times with Miguel: the flowers he sent; the parties they danced with; the serenade he sang for her on her 20th birthday in the dorm courtyard. I'm sorry Franco, but you are no longer my telenovio. Miguel has replaced you in my affections and I haven't even met him yet. He had me at serenata. Fer says what happened in Spain stays in Spain. Erika, on the other hand, thinks it's time for Fer to get back into circulation, unless she's interested in someone else….

Aurora acts uncomfortable around Barbie, who acts overly affectionate with Aurora. Barbie notices the strangeness, but Aurora brushes it off as being surprise about Barbie's coming to visit. Barbie says she'll do what she has to do to get Aurora's forgiveness and trust.

Fer says she's confused, but Erika just wants her to come on the trip and have a good time. Fer won't commit to a trip. Well, we all saw what happened the last time she made a commitment…can you blame her? Erika says it would be the best wedding present ever, so Fer agrees.

Gardenia wonders if Fernanda really is clueless about Franco's real identity. He supposes she would have let him have it already if she knew the truth. Gardenia, for the two millionth time, threatens to tell and they start to have an argument about it as Margie walks in. Gardenia gets her boobs all up in Franco's grill and suggests he come on up and see her sometime when he's at Lactos before she sashays away. Margie wants an update on Jacinto, who has had his meds and is sleeping. Margie hassles Gardenia about not being at work, but she had to come over and get her shoes, since Barbie "ordered" her, Tomasa, and Flor to help out at the party. She suggestively eats a peeled fruit of some kind. We suspect it's a mango, but I don't think it's colorful enough.

Erika calls Franco to tell him the good news about the weekend trip…"Just like we planned it!" He's pissed, but she hears it as happiness and excitement. She says she'll see him tonight and sends him more magical kisses. Fer has to go to the window for a breath of fresh air before she vomits.

Aurora asks where Santi is and is told he's in Florence. Barbie says she wants them to reconcile and be together. Aurora is doubtful. Barbie says she came to get Aurora and take her to Santi, right now if Aurora wants.

Jacobo tells his secretary to hold all his appointments until Friday. The accomplice points out Vlad coming home with a couple of buddies. They watch him walk inside his apartment building. Jacobo tells him to enjoy his last few hours of life.

The desk clerk gives Vlad his mail and Vlad tells him to give Damian the keys to his car when he comes over.

Aurora stalls Barbie by saying she doesn't know how to tell the sisters she's going. Barbie doesn't see the problem--she's going to see Santi, the love of her life. Aurora wants to put off the trip…until tomorrow? She still thinks that's too soon and asks Barbie for a favor: more time to think about things. She wants a few days and then she'll tell Barbie when they'll leave. Barbie agrees that when Aurora decides to leave, she'll take her straight to Santiago.

Pris comes over to see Damian. Has she looked this pregnant before? Pris' conscience is weighing on her. Knowing about Anibal's plans makes her an accomplice. Damian suggests confession. Pris wants Damian to talk Vlad into backing down, but he breaks it to her that he has, in fact, been hired to have Vlad liquidated. Pris is impactada. Dam tells her it's all arranged, and for tonight. Pris is upset about his cavalier attitude, but Dam blames it on Vlad: "I told him to get out of town and he wouldn't listen to me." Damian says it will be quick and efficient and Vlad won't know what's happening. He reveals that he's going to summon Vlad to see him, and Vlad will have to take a taxi, in which his "verdugo" (executioner) will be riding. He leaves the rest to her imagination, which doesn't seem to be good for her mental state. And probably isn't good for the baby's health either. She cries and looks angrily at Damian. It's a little late for that, lady. Before the commercials, we see Vlad papering Pris' car with Post-its of love. Ah, those were the good times. All those wardrobe changes ago.

Venus is all dolled up in a blue and green print halter dress. She adjusts and primps as Esteve knocks. He wants to talk, so she invites him in. They make eyes at each other. Venus is almost ready. Esteve asks if she still won't tell him what she's doing "after," and she says it's her business. He wants to help her, but she thinks he's helped enough. Esteve says he's worried about her, but Venus tells him to worry about himself. Esteve caves and leaves to wait for her downstairs. Venus cries that Esteve is leaving tomorrow and she'll never see him again and he'll never know she loves him. Because they're both stupid.

Party guests arrive at the club. Four of Camilo's friends roll up in a convertible making bad jokes about going to Cami's funeral.

Anibal and Pris' boobs walk in and are greeted by Cami and Lovely. Lovely comments the pregnancy really suits Pris. Gonzo and Barbie come up and Lovely thanks Barbie for arranging the party. Cami gets a hug from his dad. The four friends walk in and are introduced to Lovely. They're his friends from college, he says. One whispers, asking where Camilo got the "cromo" (picture…maybe he's comparing her to a pinup?) and Cami replies "los tres reyes" (the three kings; the wise men--they're the ones who bring gifts at Christmas, not Santa). They enter now. Lovely smiles big as Natacha walks in. Natacha isn't as happy. She greets Camilo and Lovely asks for an introduction. Cami calls her a friend from college. Natacha says Lovely is as pretty as Camilo's other girlfriends. Lovely wants to know what her basis for comparison is. The ladies trade barbs. Lovely wants to trade stories. Camilo looks sick to his stomach.

Inside, the buffet table has a shrimp ice sculpture. Various familiar characters come in, sit down, and mill about. Natacha looks like she wants to do something, but she doesn't know what. Martina looks nervous. Franco walks in and finds Esteve, who says he still doesn't know what's going down tonight. Franco decides he'll talk to her, but Esteve says he's wasting his time. And don't ask Martina, either, because she was sworn to secrecy. Franco says he has to tell Fer what's going on. Because of Lili. He makes a semi-decent argument about everything affecting her, but it sounds like an excuse to me. Franco thinks Gonzalo will withdraw his support and he needs to give Fer the heads up so she can intervene. But Fer isn't there.

She's on the phone with Erika, lying in bed, begging off because she feels bad. She doesn't want to talk about exactly why and is amazed that Erika is there. Erika says it's just because she's Franco's date. Erika says she had a big surprise for Fer, but she'll give it to her later. Fer's phone rings after she hangs up. It's Franco this time. She tells him she's not going, especially now that she knows what Camilo did to Aurora. Franco says she has to be there because of Lili and something might happen and she has to be there. Again, sounds like an excuse to me. He begs and says he'll explain, so she agrees. Erika gives him a hard time about working while he's at the party. Erika passes on the news that Fer isn't coming, then gives a standard TN lie that her battery is dying and asks to borrow Franco's phone. She dials home, pretends Ruthie can't hear her so she can get farther away from Franco and Esteve, and then checks his call log and finds out he was talking to Fer. She looks angry, but doesn't do anything. Yet, I assume.

Cami excuses himself from Lovely to "go to the bathroom," which is slang for "sneak out of here before I can be humiliated." Venus may or may not have seen him sneak out. Actually, he snuck around to another ballroom entrance, apparently looking for Natacha. He calls her on his cell when he doesn't see her. She's up by the dance floor and he wants her to meet him in front of the bathrooms. She apparently agrees.

For his last meal, Vlad is eating…cereal with a banana? Well, he could do worse. Damian asks him to come to his apartment in an hour to meet with Jacobo to do the papers for the paternity stuff. Vlad agrees. When he hangs up, Jacobo tells Damian that the accomplice is waiting in the taxi. Dam suggests they toast to Vlad's final voyage. Jacobo giddily agrees.

At the entrance to the bathrooms Cami tries to make this Natacha's fault for being there. She says it's his fault for not telling her he was engaged and using her all this time. She asks about their love, their plans. She tells him he's worthless and she isn't going to make a scene. If Camilo's secretary had told her what was going on tonight, she wouldn't have come. She walks off as Camilo mutters, "secretary?"

In the kitchens, Gardenia instructs one of the servers about how to arrange a platter. Flor talks to somebody about the drinks. Camilo walks in and yanks Flor away by the arm, assuming she's the "secretary" Natacha was referring to. We can all guess how this is going to go down. Cami yanks her by the hair and says she'll pay like Jacinto did and also he'll have her fired. He throws her into a table. Gardenia finds her crying.

Margie dries Jacinto's hair after his sponge bath and re-adjusts the straps on his, uh, corset? She jokes that if he hadn't fallen out of a tree, they'd be out dancing at Cami's party. Jacinto has to beg her not to make him laugh because it hurts. He wonders what would take longer--for them to get in or for Cami to have them thrown out? She gives him his meds and then starts complaining about Gardenia and her threats. Jacinto says she'd do it, if she were pissed off enough. Margie doesn't want Fer to find out and then be mad at them for not telling her.

Flor won't say what happened, but Gardenia guesses it was Camilo. Before she can run off, Flor stops her, but that only means the servers all hear Gardenia loudly complaining about how Camilo can't treat them like this, etc., etc. Flor promises to tell Fer in order to stop Gardenia from making a scene. Gardenia says if Flor doesn't do it soon, she beat the crap out of Camilo herself. Tickets, tickets, get your tickets!

More partying. Natacha has come back onto the dance floor. Fer has arrived in an awesome purple satin dress. Camilo tries to sass her, but she's not having any of it. He tries to joke with her that she should pick up another guy while she's there. She tells him not to call her little sister ever again, she's no longer his sister from that moment forward.

Camilo is surprised by her anger, but he gets over it in about a second and a half. Franco thanks Fer for being there. He says he's going to give her the quick and dirty version of what's going down tonight. He says that Lovely isn't going to marry Camilo, but before he can explain, Erika comes over to attach herself to Franco and marvel over Fer's quick recovery.

Vlad prepares to leave his apartment. He smiles as he turns out the lights to leave.

Party. Dancing. Drinking. Pris hassles Anibal about how much he's drinking, then gives up. He tells her to relax because the nightmare's over tonight. Gonzalo grins at Ani and Pris and puts his arm around Barbie.

Vlad comes out the door to his apartment and then starts walking down the sidewalk. The accomplice checks in, then gets in his taxi and heads down the street towards Vlad.

Party. Dancing. Bitter, jealous crying (Natacha). Waving around of napkins (college buds). Toasting. Anxiety (Martina). Nausea (Esteve). Gonzo is happy for Camilo. Fer doesn't give a crap. Gonzo brings up Lili and his occasional desperation. Barbie talks him down…she's with Obregon of her own free will, Stockholm Syndrome, blah, blah, blah. Gonzo says it hurts that he'll never see her again, but Franco says before he leaves the country, Lili will be back with them. Gonzo wonders what's going on with Lili.

She's sleeping. Artemio comes into her room. He marvels that the daughter of his enemy is now under his protection. Lili, "la loca, la despreciada, la incomprendida" (crazy, unappreciated, misunderstood) He thinks they're not so different. They're tied together by "soledad" (loneliness; but also, quite literally, Soledad--very poetic of him!) but they're not alone anymore. They have each other.

Vlad continues walking down the street and hails a taxi, which doesn't stop. But the Death Taxi does, and he gets in.

Party. Dancing to one of those songs where the words describe the steps. Pris checks her phone, but is busted by Anibal and puts it down. The MC asks for applause for the happy couple. Natacha stews. The MC announces the happy couple will be making speeches about why they chose each other, in accordance with "English" custom. Camilo takes a shot of champagne for courage. Barbie and Gonzo beam. Martina, Fer, and Natacha look displeased, indifferent, and bitter. As Cami reaches into his jacket for…his notes (?) the episode ends.

Tomorrow: looks like Fer and Cami get into a fistfight and Cami, Esteve, and Franco get into a fistfight. Now that sounds more like a par-tay!

Comments:
Going quick and dirty, as I'd forgotten we have Project Runway tonight and Mr. 5ft will get upset if I'm still trying to get through MEPS after it starts. No, seriously.

But I will just toss in that Lovely's dress could have been designed by Uli and Fer's was somewhat reminiscent of Chloe's collection, only not as stiff.

Kat, I hope you realize you are the best recapper ever. I knew this one was you even before I got to the signature. Always enjoy your handiwork. Muchas gracias!

Looking forward to tomorrow nights episode!

Liliana (not Elizalde)

Good evening Ms. 5 ft! I'm sure Gardenia was eating a mango because I'm allergic to them and my reaction to it was identical to Fr/Ed's reaction to Gardenia.

I like your comments on Fer's and Lovely's frocks, and I can only add that Pris's dress was, well...amazing. She was a veritable balcony of boobage.

Tomorrow looks awesome! Thanks for the great recap.

Thanks so much for the recap Kat! Loved the line about Anyballs & Pris' boobs walking in. This episode was a real "Breast Fest" (well, maybe some of them were real). There was more cleavage than the Grand Canyon.

Venus looked gorgeous and so did Fernanda. Pris' dress was a feat of engineering. I can't believe Marina didn't have a better dress.

After what he did to Flor, Camilho deserves whatever is coming to him. I hope it hurts for a long time.

I'm crossing my fingers that Vlad makes it out alive somehow. Can't wait until tomorrow. It should be good!

Your quick and dirty is pretty amazing Kat! Also loved Anyballs and Pris' boobs walk in.

I usually take these things with a big grain of salt, but I was really upset with what Camilo did to Flor. It was very realistic. He's gotta get a BIG beatdown by someone sometime soon.

So predictable. If Fr/Ed and Fer begin a conversation and Erika is within 10 miles, she interrupts any forward movement in the plot. I have zero sympathy for her at this point.

Hi, Kat! Great recap, as usual, and I'm glad to know you are a PR fan! Me too! So far there are only a few comments, but everyone has commented on Pris's dress, and I have to say, I, too, was impactada. Once she walked in, I couldn't keep track of the scenes, dialog, or anything! Pardon me for saying so, but it had a somewhat bdsm look to it. Maybe they decided they wouldn't have to strap on a pregnancy pillow if they made her boobs pop. I think she said she was 4 months? Definitely not enough tummy! Funny that Project Runway featured a maternity outfit competition a couple of weeks ago!
Jane

Love your style Kat. Of course the Priscilla "boobs" comment was a standout but also your description of Gardenia thrusting her boobs in Franco's grill and then the" party. dancing. drinking. nausea." type descriptions were very effective.

You're a fine comedian and a great storyteller.

Loved that Vlad was eating cereal and a banana for dinner. That was such a poignant touch. Homey. He's just an ordinary young guy who fell in love with the wrong wooooman. (oh my, that dress!)

Great recap .. thanks again !!
Pris seems genuinely upset about what's going to happen with Vlad. If she does nothing, she's off my list ... not that I'm especially fond of her character, but I did think she had a conscience.

I wonder if we were supposed really loathe Erika all along and they only realized at the last minute that they had made her out to be too sympathetic and that's why she's become especially obnoxious lately.

I mean, she was always annoying, but I didn't start hating her till this week with her attitude towards servants.

Incidentally, that little face Fer made when Erika shrieked with joy... priceless. Kudos for managing to stifle a full-blown shudder or eye-roll...

Thanks for the recap Kat. Snarky as ever.

Well, well, well, the excrement is about to hit the fan! Where to begin?

It looks like Cammiii is about to have a bad day/night/rest of his life. At least his complexion will match his designer orange jumpsuits. I was hoping Gardenia would go out there and smack him after what he did to Flor.

Did Pris' milk come in early? Wow! It actually looked painful.

I finally realized what Erika reminds me of. You know when you're sitting outside enjoying the day, drinking your iced tea/lemonade/adult beverage and there is this gnat or mosquito flying around you head and buzzing and you swat at it and you just can't get rid of it---that would be Erika.

Natacha--Horse face (sorry Capricho). That's what she looked like to me. Every time she opened her mouth---neigh, neigh, neigh. She's lucky Loafly didn't piledrive her into the fountain.

Sorry, I keep thinking of stuff...Did anyone besides me think that one of Camiii's friends was going to look at Venus and say, "I remember you. Didn't you used to be a mudwrestling ho at the local cantina?"

Thanks, Kat, for another great recap. I didn't at first realize you were doing today's, but your wit gave you away. "Ah, those were the good times. All those wardrobe changes ago."

I should add that I appreciated not only your humor but also the detailed account--you filled me in on so much I had missed with my dreadful Spanish.

Cap'n Sylvia--loved your "veritable balcony of boobage"!

Connie, I too thought that one of Camilo's friends was about to out Venus.

Kat, love your style, keep them coming. I bet you are a lot of fun at a party.

Someone please throw Cami and Errika under the bus, there is absolutely no difference between the two except Cami becomes physically abusive. Everything is totally about them. My DH always says if you want to know what God thinks about money, look at who he gives it to.

Poor Pris, she did look uncomfortable for more reasons than one. Anibal need to go under the bus.

This party looked like more fun than the last fiesta. Tonight should be interesting. Loved Fer's dress and necklace.

rsk

A little confused (make that a lot confused) about Franco afraid of losing Gonzo's support. Isn't it Franco & Esteve that are supporting Gonzo????? 10 milliones $$$$$
And what does this have to do with Lili?

Why can't Lili have any privacy, Artemio is always going into her room. Is he also a lecher?

Tks for the shrimp ice sculpture confirmation, 5 ft.

The Line is growing to clobber Camilo.

Does anyone cut up a banana like that?

Great & funny recap 5ft, I can tell it's you by the 2nd sentence.

This party is going to be a humdinger.

Connie, I thought exactly the same thing about one of Camilo's friends recognizing Venus. They like to surprise us.

Carlos s/b happy, this was definitely boob night, with Pris taking 1st prize. I think those are too big to be fake.

Kat - thank you for the wonderful recap. And sooooo snarky, too.

Breast Fest, indeed!
Anibal and Pris' boobs walk in ---OMG, both of Priscilla’s were the worst. That big white tent thing was horrible. No need to ask "Does this make me look fat?" Pris must have complained to the wardrobe dept, and the party dress was their revenge. At the party, all I could look at were her bubis. Yikes!

OTH, I loved Fernie’s dress. She looked beautiful in that color. Two thumbs up for Lovely's dress, too.

Camilo is such a dirtbag. I also thought one of his buddies would have recognized Venus.

Connie - great analogy of Erika to buzzing bugs.

At least they had food at this party. What was up with the ice sculpture. A shrimp?! Looked stupid if you ask me. It looks like we get to see big biceps tonight. Woo hoo! Hopefully not more boobs.

Maybe Fr/Ed needs to change his cologne/aftershare to Off!

Too right, Cami is a first class jerk for tossing Flor around. For once I was on team Gardenia and really wanted her to pop him one. If Gardenia and our mud wrestlers Venus and Martina ganged up on him the slimeball he wouldn't have a chance. Hell, any one of those beauties could probably take him solo.

rsk, that's a great quote about money; I'm going to remember that one.

Kat, KAt, you've done it again. Thanks so much.

Wow! what a cleavage fest! All the girls were out in their best presentations, except Martina- what was with that? She was alomost dowdy, not fair, maybe in concert with her worried attitude.

I'm pretty tough, usually, but that Cad tossing Flor around was shocking to me, and on the assumption that it was she that was the secrtary that caused Natasha to be invited. I hope that Gardenia does get the first lick in on the ratbastard, then holds him for everyone else that wants a piece of him. Looks like a good old-fashioned brawl is brewing for tonite.

I was shouting at Pris to call Vlad to do something other than what Dam had planned, she knows that it's going down tonite at 10, and she does nothing? I still hold hope that the wackos that have written this don't really whack him.

The actress doing Errorika is doing a marvelous job of making her beyond annoying. She is like fingernails on blackboard whenevr she's in the scene. I so want her to break off the wedding, and Fer to know that Franco is Eduardo, just to put her out of my misery.

I agree DD. Cad is such an a-hole. I hope Flor gets the first punch in. He deserves whatever is coming his way tonight and more. Grabbing her by the hair! Seriously...kick his ass.

Wow, Kat, twice in one week I get to read your hilarious recaps. Thanks so much.

Looks like Pris' concern for Vlad's fate will cause her to either: 1)do what she can to save him, or 2) make her hate --and therefore leave-- Anibal if anything bad does happen to Vlad. She's realizing that even if he is somewhat of a nutcase, Vlad loves her and the baby more than her cold fish of a husband ever will.

So was that whole thing about the DNA test just a ruse to get Vlad swept into Dam's plan or is there a chance that the results might be unexpected--like the baby is Anibal's? I'm confused on this part of the story.

Erica as buzzing gnat is good, Connie. Whenever I see her perfectly-timed stealth-grabs onto Franco I just want to swat her--hard.

Can't wait to get back to the party tonight.

Loved your recap, Kat. Your boob comment had me lol.

I can't believe those boobs of
Pris!!! I think they're too big to be beautiful. They looked like balloons.

Lovely is pretty and the color of her dress was very pretty but too plain. I know her haircut is the latest style, but I thought it looked too stringy...

Now Fer, well she was spectacular!!!

As for Camilo, he deserves a kick in his you know what for his disgusting behavior.

Variopinta, I thought the same thing when Artemio walked into Lilli's bedroom. He's pretty creepy.

I guess tonite we have the free for all..

Sorry for those numbers waaayy down. My mistake.

I don't like her hair either. I liked it better when it was curly.

5ft...Again...You were on fire. I would like to work with you. I'll bet that you would make any workday fun. Your irreverant humor reminds me so much of my friend Genevieve whom I used to teach with. I saw her cut down more than one surly student or annoying person. The Cheese Fest was a big disappointment for me, but Loafly Venus really knows how to throw a PARTAY. I especially enjoyed the gigantic photos of her and Caaamiii. The food looked good ...then there was that ginormous ice sculpture like they have on cruiseships, and the band was rocking out. Did you notice that all the Elizades were party poopers...no dancing ..likewise the rest of that table...Esteve, Loafly [who looked like she was starting to realize what a bad idea this PARTAY was], Fr'ed [still thinking of England] , and Er [what can I say...bleccchhh...find a life]. Connie, I loved your '' Cami is going to have a bad day/night/ rest of his life.'' I vote for that third choice. I wonder exactly how he will be punished. When he grabbed Flor and threw her , it looked for really real. [In Alborada, Hipolita's maid is grabbed by bad dudes , and that scene also seemed really rough and violent]. I, too, thought that Caammmiii's bros were going to recognize the mudslinging ho, but I guess the cantina is too lowclass for them. The previews for tonight looked promising. At last, it looks like Fr'ed will be the proactive, protective hero . ....oh yeah...that's the kind of manly man I'm talking about. I loved him stepping between Fer and Cam when Cam raised his hand to smack her.

Almost forgot...Pris's boobs are the real deal...a gift from God. They were the life of the PARTAY...so bold that she had to strap those babies down. Even straight women cannot look away from equipment that large and in charge. I used to tutor a mother and daughter from Brazil. They wore lowcut tank tops and were generously endowed. As I sat primly across the library table from them wearing my teeshirt that went up to my neck, I had a difficult time knowing where to look. I attempted to make eye contact at all times. Uncomfortable. Judyb~~I agree with you that Vladi making himself a bowl of cereal and sliced bananas right before he was going to unknowing walk into the lion's den was poignant. I hope the assassins are inept and fail at their assignment, or that Dam or Pris somehow save him.

Hola! First off, thanks to Jody for yesterday's recap & thanks to Kat for your usual snappy, snarky commentary. Sounds like I missed quite a boobtastic episode, which is actually kind of funny. I was in NYC yesterday & couldn't help but notice how much everyone is displaying their girls, real & fake. Seriously: cleavage, half moons & decolletage worthy of the court of Louis XIV. Did I miss the memo that said it's "flash your boobies" day?

But I digress...

Sounds like this party headed for a crash. Are we getting set up for a HUGE confessional while we have everyone in one spot? Hope I can stay awake tonight.

Cad must die. I still want a pox on his privates & maybe a case of mad cow disease. Yeah, that'll do it.

Maggarita
(woo hoo! it's Friday!)
:-D

Judy, I thought Vlad having cereal and a banana for dinner was a sad touch too. Single guy fare. Pris better do something quick or she'll have to live with this on her conscience for the rest of her life. How will she be able look at her new son and not think about what happened to his dad?

For once I so wanted Gardenia to open her mouth and tell everyone what Camilho had done to Flor before she and the whole kitchen staff flattened him.

Natacha as a horse? Now that's an insult... to horses!

Kat, thanks for the terrific recap!

I also loved Pris's dress, and was disappointed with Martina's. These two are my favorites. They both have that dark hair, smoldering eyes, look. Right now, both look vulnerable. But when pushed, both can be very powerful.

I think (I'm hoping) Vlad is just a little smarter than the killers. At times, he's gullible, but he often shows flashes of self-preservation and independence. Maybe they'll think they killed him, dump him somewhere, but he won't be dead, and will come back to HAUNT Damian and Anibal!

Connie: kudos on the Erika as gnat or mosquito. And also loved the Off cologne for Fr/Ed.

I don't know, I'm starting to wish for two-month novelas. The last month or so of episodes are so interesting. I look forward to seeing MEPS very much at this point in time. Knew that party was going to be a doozy, but I'm really curious about what set off the fight.

Kat, you’re priceless. Such detail, knowledge of the language, and wit! I love to savor your recaps.

Sylvia, I love the money quote. Can you guess…God must love me?!!

OK, who hasn’t tried to fire poor Flor!

Hombre, I like your resolution to the Vlad story line. I’m thinking they’re going to leave us hanging over the weekend to find out if he’s really dead—TN rules, right?

Great recap, 5ft--thanks twice for your recaps this week (and thanks to Jody, also, for Wednesday's).

Jane--did Pris say she was 4 months along, or she has 4 months left? At any rate, for a first baby, the tummy is about right.
Connie--did her milk come in early? LOL

LR

I am hoping also that Vlad survives, the true paternity of the baby discovered, and Gonzo still leaves millions to his grandchild which will turn out to be - - - Aurora and Santi's baby! Sylvia from GA

Kat you always have too many great lines to comment on!!! You would definitely be the first on my party list!

Barb knows how to throw a party, the venue was beautiful and they actually had FOOD!
But the Elizalde's always just sit like a bunch of stiffs..they would NOT be on my party list!

My favorite scene in the entire episode was Gardenia rolling up her sleeves ready to give Cami a whooping! that was priceless!

Lovely look great in her dress the color was beautiful on her. I think Martina and Pris are both so beautiful, I would love to see Pris without such severe bangs.... I always wonder what hair products they use, lovely glossy hair.

Beth: MEPS starts at 6pm here in Oregon, Amor at 5pm- dish network. Hope you get to sneak some in!

I think I've said this before, but Babs' plan baffles me. She's going to spirit Aurora out of the convent on the pretext that she's flying her to Italy to reunite with Santi? Que? And, when this doesn't happen, delusional Babs can't figure out that Aurora might be just the teensiest bit out of sorts that she never gets to see the love of her life again? Babs thinks Aurora is then going to shrug her shoulders and say "oh well, at least I have my mummy back"? And she's not going to hold a grudge over the lie? Please.

I don't think Aurora knows how to hold a grudge. In fact I don't think she knows how to do anything but cry and be a victim.

If Pris hadn't strapped those puppies down do you think they would have escaped?! Everyone who's had a baby knows what they look like when the milk comes in...well....kind of...like Pris! Hmmm.... :-}

Kat, another great recap. Two nights in a row was an unexpected treat.

So many great lines but along with Juanita, thought Sylvia's "veritable balcony of boobage" was hysterical.

Can't wait to see Cad get the thrashing he deserves. I'd love to see Gardenia fully unleashed on his sorry behind. Flor has had more than her share of abuse througout this.

If Pris doesn't make a call to Vlad telling him what's about to happen, she is every bit as guilty as Dam and Ani. I can't believe she is going to sit by and do nothing...

I keep thinking of the beautiful nursery Vlad put together and hoping he'll be spared.

Julie, I think you're right. Erika's character change occurred way too quickly. She went from a sweet, caring person to a class conscious snob in a New York minute. I remember their celebrating her mother's (false) pregnancy with their housekeeper who was clearly treated as a member of their family.

Can't wait to see the altercations and exactly what Venus has planned.

re; Pris's appearance- she was looking especially "comely" last nite. I have been oogling Arleth since the Querendon days, where she was dressed a bit racier (office attire, TN style), and didn't have those distracting bangs. I am wondering if she, too, esta' embarazada.

re; Vlad's immenent demise. I don't think it will happen. All involved in the plan are screw-ups. Jacobo messed up Dam's previous legal problem, couldn't really do a decent job of kidnapping Abora. Dam hasn't succeeded in acomplishing anything, either. I also think that he is going to have a change of heart when Vlad gets to his pad, he seemed to be reluctant to toast his short time left. I've said all along that Damian is not evil, he has shown a softness in himself several times- Pris's pregancy, letting Abora free, and some other times, too. He'd like to think that he can run with the big dogs, but he'll never really lift his leg.

A recent TVNovella magazine had their feature article (including the fold out) on Pris - she is very pretty without those bangs. Her wardrobe in this drama does not do her figure justice.

That's a wig isn't it?

I recently saw an article in MIRA where Colunga and Navarro were on an island for a photo shoot of
scenes of them on the island used in the breaks for MEPS. They said on their off time she went shopping in the morning and he went looking for (I think) it was fishing equipment in the afternoon.

I guess there is no chemistry there. They're just co-workers. boo hoo! boo hoo!

Ann-NYC

Even straight women cannot look away from equipment that large and in charge. Amen! The girls had to be strapped down because if they escaped, all h*ll would break loose.

novelera, I think Babs suffers from delusions of living happily ever after with Aurora.

Connie, I've often wondered if Pris' hair is a wig but I think it's all real. I hope I'm wrong.

I wish Natasha would do an irreversible Lorena Bobbitt job on Camilo. That might be sufficient justice for him. Oh, and "Misogynist" tattooed on his orange forehead.

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. Should be quite a brawl. ;o)

I've looked closely at Pris's hair, 'cause I'm jealous, I don't think it's a wig, but I think there are extensions. I guess a lot of actors wear them.

What is Damian supposed to get for getting rid of Vlad? I see money exchange hands but it looks like it always goes to the person that's doing the job.

A party with a good old fashioned knock down drag out, can't wait.

I wish Erika would keep her hands off Fr/Ed, that must drive him crazy. Loved the way he got out of her clutches the night before.
Erika told Fernanda that Franco spent the night.

rsk, Would that issue of TVNovela still be on the grocery store shelf?

He'd like to think that he can run with the big dogs, but he'll never really lift his leg.

Dorado Dave, that is such a funny line! I do hope it's true!

Great recap Kat. and 2 in one week. The others are right, your style is unmistakable and wonderful. The ladies at the party certainly are delights for the eye. Gardenia was especially alluring. How Franco resists is beyond me. He really must consider her as a little sister.

Carlos

How do they get their bangs to curl like that? Aurora has the same bangs. I don't think it is particularly attractive.

Variopinta, it the issue that came in the mail last week so I assume you can find it on the news stands. They usually publish bi-monthly.

Let me chime in with the others to say that your recaps are always a treat. Someone once said that women dress for other women, rather than for men. I second that. All the descriptions and comments about the boobs shows that we were really focused on them. Oh well, we can always pretend that we're looking so hard so that we'll be able to give the guys a lesson in something they might otherwise overlook. We want them to know when they're fake and if the size is right if they are naturally large or milk engorged etc. Ex hubby was a boob watching fenatic. He once told me he thought I was trying to get him turned off with my anatomy and physiology approach. I was crushed.
Several commenters noticed that the Elizaldes were non dancing party poopers. I must've missed the part where Franco, Erika, Steve, Martina, did their numbers.
Although I can buy the comparison of Erika being an annoying insect, Franco's subtle facial statements are a far cry from a "swat". What's with Franco and Fer bowing to her every request.

Yes, Babs sure does know how to throw a beautiful party even though I disagree with Venus using it as revenge tactics. The way she treated Natasha wasn't very nice. Natasha is a victim, being played by Cami. At least she loves Cami, Venus doesn't. I'm just not crazy about the Venus character.
I thought that Pricilla already tried to warn Vlad to leave town because of potential danger. He seemed to think he had everything under control.
I'm with those who think the plan is flawed and won't work.

Good point Bea, why don't they "just say no."

No Venus is not a nice person. This whole party thing just shows her mean streak. Add Esteve and Fr/Ed to the mean-streak list too for cooking up this ridiculous plot of getting back at Camilo. They look more like fools than Camilo.

For Priscilla not to immediately stop Damian makes her a villain to me. Just suppose Vlad makes it thru this (saved by Pris), would he still love the Gordita knowing that it took her hours before she could make up her mind whether he should be spared or not ???

Great recap 5ft Latina. I like your snarkiness. Your recaps are always so much fun.

There is no way Camilo can be redeeemed, he has done to many horrible things to the women in this novela and he has shown a very mysoginistic behaviour. He needs a bit comeuppance at the end.

Novelera I think Babs is just trying to make Aurora leave with her. I think she is planning on feeding her more lies once they get to whatever place Babs wants to go. And to be fair, Aurora is stupid enough to believe anything.

I think a serenade would be a sweet thing to see. Miguel does sound like a great galán. Silvia has received some serenades before in another novela with mariachis and on the beach.

Jarocha

Jarocha, thanks for the links. I can't wait to see Fer in something else. She's a lovely lady, I just wish they'd soften the brows a bit.

beleive me, the brows aren't a problem...

What other things has she been in? This is the only thing I've seen her in but I'm new to Telenovelas.

Tickets, tickets, get your tickets....Mrs 5 ft. I want you to work in my office too, you are the best!

I have faith in my Pris to do the right thing. When in a very difficult situation, not that I have ever been involved in a murder plot, in which your husband is involved, it must be hard to act at first. She will move in plenty of time to save Vlad, I just know it. If anyone else has any experience with inside information on family murder plots, I'm willing to listen to your input!

Weighing in....Gordita's are real!

Above post....I just love the word involved, so I try and use as much as I can in one paragraph!

Connie in novelas Silvia has been in: "Perla" (1998), "Catalina y Sebastián" (1999), "La Calle de las Novias" (2000), "Cuando Seas Mía" (2001), "La Duda" (2002), "La Heredera" (2004) and "Montecristo" (2006), but these are all from TV Azteca so since most people don't get that channel in the US I don't think there are people who knew her before MEPS. She was the lead in all of them. She won her first protagonic by casting when she was fairly new and they kept casting her as a lead.

She has also done some movies, TV dramas, theater plays and has hosted some live shows.

Jarocha

Ok, Ms 5ft, love the shout out to Project Runway.

I'm having real issues with our hero firstly bagging the diario and secondly making Lili telling the secret. He is not thinking of her welfare at all. Then, dude tells Barbara the secret Lili told him. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH HIM? Now she's going to mention to AB and Lili is going to be in deep caca. Nice going Eduardo.

Thanks for the great pinch hit recap Kat. So we now have a timeline, it has been 4 months since Fer's wedding. We definitely haven't seen a lot of the days then, even though some days lasted quite a few capitulos. So how long was poor old Macario(?) lying at the bottom of that hill?

Breast fest indeed. Pris needed to be tied in, perhaps Natacha needed to have that strap as well.

But... Just not called for... No need to have Cadmilho push Flor around. Not right. We already know he's no good. The avances have Fer slapping Cad. I wonder if part of that, besides general principle, is that Flor or Denia told Fer what happened.

JeffMN

We will be getting Azteca in FL on Comcast, can't remember when.
I tried to ck out Silvia on their site, but they have whipped her off.
Televisa is much more popular, so I'm sure she is making bigger bucks, I sure hope so, she is wonderful.
I find the eyebrows interesting & not a problem, she is beautiful.

Don't understand this stuff, but on my new little digital portable that I have in the kitchen, not connected to Comcrap, I can get Azteca.

I believe Gordita's are real too, I don't think they make that size. The dead giveaway on store boughts is if you can set a glass of water on top of them, there is a little shelf on bad boob jobs.

Televisa must have offered alot, girl posted on youtube a compilation of scenes from all of Silvia's characteres in novelas, I like it.

5Ft: Really hilarious, snarkalicious recap! Great way to end the work week. --Poor, misguided Err is getting to be more than I can stomach. Loved the scene between Venus and Nat. Started screaming at the screen when Cad started manhandling Flor and insulted her. I am actually hoping Denia ill find a way to get even with him before the big night is over. My big gripe will be with Pris, though, if she doesn't sneak out and warn Vlad before it's too late.

I agree that Pris's hair looks mostly real to me too. I think the bangs make her face look wider, though, not flattering at all.

I admit I felt a little queasy last night as Vlad obliviously walked out of his apartment for what is looking to be the last time. (The bump before the commercial, with Pris's car covered in those love-note stickies, didn't cheer me up.)

I never saw much of a future for Vlad - his obsessiveness would eventually have to land him in the hospital, or possibly in jail. But killing the guy off because he's in the way... horrible. Not to mention unimaginative.

I hope he survives the attempt and the shock of the whole experience is a big wake-up call that inspires him to move on with his life.

As punishment for allowing the scheme to happen, Pris can raise the child alone (I'm sure her brother will help out rather than let them be destitute) while her disgraced husband rots in prison.

That is my Friday evening wish.

This is a make or break moment, Pris HAS to "help/save" Vlad, the father of her criatura or, or, or ......I'm going to start watching Project Runway with Mr. and Mrs. 5 ft. No more MEPS for me.

Sandy laughing in TN

Tks Jarocha
you can see how she has progressed but the talent was apparent. I think she is 30, so many years to go.

Thank you Kat for the delightfully witty recap.

All I kept thinking was the large pumpkin shaped anvil is dropping closer and closer to Camilo's head -- and when it hits him, he'll turn into the tasmanian devil or worse.

everyone caught how low the front of Barbie's dress was cut - any lower and her belly button would show.

Jody :)

Aaaaah Jody, that is a beautiful mental image... a pumpkin-shaped anvil. Seasonally appropriate, too. Come to think of it, if we replaced Camilo's head with a pumpkin, would he be any worse off? I really have to hand it to that actor - he is completely believable as this thoroughly loathsome character.

Of course, I prefer the subtlety of a more complicated character like Damian, but when someone's just a profound jerk like Camilo, it's more satisfying to watch his beatdown.

As for the dresses at this party, they were a zillion times better than what everyone was wearing to that last party where Franco announced his stupid engagement. I don't remember liking anyone's dress at that one. I think the styles and colors were much better this time around, though there did seem to be a surplus of cleavage...

I have more to say about Camilo and the party, but I'll wait for the recap. :)

Oh except for one thing. When Camilo was gulping out of that bottle (reposado tequila, I believe) at Franco's house, I just happened to be holding a bottle of vegetable oil that was about the same shade of yellow (not to drink from, I assure you). I did a double-take, thinking this was an odd time for Camilo to attend to his digestive health...

variojpinta - most likely that little TV has a built-in digital tuner that is picking up Azteca.

Looking forward to discussing Fri. night's episode!!!

Julie - I agree. Roberto is doing a wonderful job playing a totally loathsome despicable jerk. I have another comment but I'll save it until the Friday recap is posted.

Jody :)
