Sortilegio #17, Wednesday Oct 28, 2009: Just Another Hot Steamy Wednesday!

Cap #22 Mexican :)

MJ, Ale, Paula and Papa are talking. Ale wants MJ to go with him on a little trip. MJ balks but Papa says its her duty.

Maura takes Uli over to Ale. Ale introduces his wife MJ.

Rachel, Roberto, Uli and Maura are in a den of thieves, I mean a den of orange polka dotted couches, striped pillows, and a brown shag rug, talking about their favorite couple. The guys, Uli and Roberto go out to have a smoke and it sure looks like something is up between those two.

Chucho is being questioned.

Ale and MJ are at the accident sight trying to figure things out. Ale goes over the events as he remembers them and MJ comforting him. Suddenly, Ale, with Savage Jealousy, wonders ( and he really should know the answer to this) if MJ would have accepted Bruno if he had died? (Well, at least until she found out she was with a Brrruto.) MJ gets angry that Ale keeps torturing her by bring Bruno up, that he has no confidence in her, and she starts running up the hill. Ale, scrambles after and and apologizes, saying he just has doubts, doubts that makes him ask stupid
questions. Ale and MJ make up.

Ale and MJ go to find Chuco in the jail, and Chuco asks that Ale tell them that he did not steal the watch. The jailer tells Ale and MJ, they have to talk to the commander. I don't know why Ale has MJ leave.

MJ goes to the church and prays. Ale asks what she prayed for and MJ says peace.

At last, the day is over and their enter a room with candles burning, and MJ says it is a nice room, but she didn't want to sleep in the same bed that she is tired and just wants to sleep. Ale says fine he will sleep on the sofa. MJ opens her suitcase and Ale takes his bedding to the sofa. MJ is very tired but, not so tired that she doesn't take pause, along with viewerville, to appreciate Ale removing his shirt.

Ale pretends to be asleep already as MJ checks as she walks by. After she is in the bathroom Ale opens his eyes shakes his head, smiles as he rolls over to try and sleep.

We watch Ale toss and turn and try to cover his feet before he finally crawls in to bed with the sleeping MJ. He makes sure to share his blanket and kisses her cheek, as he cuddles with her to sleep.

Next day, Ale wakes up to find MJ in the shower, where MJ tries to explain that when she prayed she said she would not sleep with Ale until they are married. As Ale caresses MJ's shadow, on the shower door, he explains that their marriage is valid, and just like that he is in the shower, and Ale and MJ do what comes sooo naturally, and we in viewerville, get lost and have to take a moment to breathe.

Ale tells the Commander that Chencho and Chucho helped him to live. Chucho gets out. Ale gives him money and his card and tells him to go to his house and have EZ give him some work.
Ale asks Chucho about the woman in the car with him and Chucho directs him to a hospital.

Maura a Rachel are wearing wraps on their way to the jacuzzi. Now, the wraps are off but they are still talking about their favorite couple, Ale and MJ.

Fernando has come by to check on Victoria. When Felipa tells Victoria that Fernando is here, she hops out of bed and starts primping.

Erick and Bruno are talking, but this beginner Spanish student cannot make out any words over the music.

Victoria sees Fernando. Fernando tells Victoria that the Ale is in love with MJ and Victoria says that this is a problem.

At the hospital Ale and MJ find Lupe, who has been fighting infections, Lupe has a son. Ale says he will pay for medicines and school for him, Lupe say no one cares for the Indians or something like that.

Ale tells MJ they have something important to do.

Victoria and Fernando are on the porch talking about everyone's favorite people, MJ and Ale. Rachel walks up to eavesdrop. Victoria is going on how Ale said he never married MJ.

Ale and MJ are at an apartment building with Ale knocking on the door. He ask MJ if she is nervous. A woman comes out of the building and Ale asks if she can identify Bruno? (a picture on his cell phone) . The woman says they can check it out. As they walk the stairs, MJ asks if Ale is jealous and Ale says he is not jealous he is just questioning. I don't know if this is an apartment Bruno had? They check it out and leave.

Felipa interrupts Rachel's eavesdropping, and Rachel is ready to denounce the whole bunch of them. Fernando and Victoria try to tell her he is married, but it is Bruno who comes and gets her.

Ale and MJ are at another place. I am confused to where they are at. This isn't the town MJ is from right? I thought it was the place closest to where the accident was? Why would MJ know of this apartment? Any way they talk to someone else who has a document signed by someone who is, of course, long gone.

Fernando tells Victoria that Ale and MJ's marriage is legal. Victoria asks what Fernando thinks.
Fernando says MJ and her family could be lying. Yeah with a best friend like that...

Felipe tries to tell Victoria that she should be sure before Victoria accuses but Victoria doesn't want to hear. Victoria tells herself all the lies she needs to stay in denial about Bruno.

Please feel free to add missing dialog.

Thank you Melinama and Kat. I only got caught up today.

Great comments had me laughing.

This whole episode got ruin by dumb and dumber. That would be fernando and Victoria. The apartment they were checking out i believe was the one Bruno was staying in.
When they went to the office it was for the marriage certificate and Alex asked for the judge who presided over the marriage. He was told again the judge is still on vacation. Bruno probably paid him off. Raquel over heard the conversation between dumb and dumber and believes she can use that as ammunition to MJ thrown out of the house. Once Bruno came into hear what she was beatching about now he told her to cool it.Raquel also was told by Bruno that Alex might decide to throw her and jobless husband out in the street. Raquel in her jealousy of MJ's relationship with her step brother Alex went back and told Maura< Roberto and Sleazy (Ulises).
Bruno went to Pedro's chalet looking for MJ and Paula couldn't contain herself about rubbing it into Bruno's face that MJ left with Alex and they don't know when they are coming back. Bruno being worried was discussing with Pimp Daddy E where they could have gone.

We already know sleaze boy is an male prostitute and Roberto and Raquel live off of Alex. What the heck does Maura do besides drive around in convertible ferrari. That's why Alex drop your behind to the quick.

Bruno looked like Popeye the Sailor Man with that busted eye.

Were Useless and Bobo reminiscing about a gay orgy? Did Useless tell Bobo about liking boys and girls and Bobo was like, "yeah, I know?" Were they reminiscing about a time they had?

It doesn't matter if MJ is Alex's real wife or not, it's Alex's house and if he wants Familia Samaniego there, there's not much Raquel can do about it.

Shut up Fer-No No. Shut up Victoria.

I wonder what the Albeniz crew will do now when Chucho and Chencho show up? LOL

Great recap PB.

I was amazed at your description of the living room. I never noticed it. It was so outlandish I can't believe how unobservant I am.

After being introduced to MJ, Oil Slick comments to Alex that he's a really lucky guy. Alex and MJ can't seem to get away fast enough (and who could blame them??). Meanwhile, as Oil Slick and Maura head back to her car, Oil Slick comments on how beautiful MJ is and says now he understands why Alex wants to hold onto her. Maura sniffs that beauty fades but class lasts forever. Like she would know the first thing about either beauty or class.

Later, Maura tells Raquel that she is sure all she has to do is sleep with Alex again to get her plan to get him back in motion. Considering even “I'm getting a divorce” Alex doesn't seem to be interested in her despite her making it abundantly clear she's available, it seems like Maura's seriously overrating herself.

That whole scene at the accident site with Alex's accusations are indeed all about jealousy at this point. How many times has MJ told Alex she'll sign anything he wants saying she will make no claim on his money, that she doesn't want it? And yet here he is, asking if she would have stayed with Bruno and shared Alex's money with him. Alex is not doing himself any favors with this.

At the police station, the cop on duty told Alex he can't release Chucho without his commander's say-so because there are procedures that have to be followed. Also, Alex has to make a statement. Alex agreed to do that, so he asked MJ to wait in the SUV while he did it. He said he wouldn't be long (LOL at the chick who hit on Alex as soon as MJ left!), but that request and their argument earlier --when MJ told Alex she wanted him out of her life because she was fed up with his distrust of her-- was why he got so worried when he came out of the station and found the SUV empty: He thought she'd run away from him.

Pedro thinks MJ is in love with Alex, and Paula not only agrees but thinks that Alex also has feelings for MJ. Bruno comes banging on the door, demanding to know where MJ is. Paula enjoys telling him that MJ is away on yet another trip with Alex. No, she doesn't know where, but even if she did, she wouldn't tell Bruno. Oh, and Alex said she could have Bruno's chauffeur Eric take her into town tomorrow to register for classes. Bruno stomps off, and Paula comments to herself that he's stupid, but Pedro is worried -- he doesn't think Bruno is the sort of guy they should deliberately provoke. And ok, it's pretty clear he's not the brains of the family, but that doesn't mean Pedro doesn't have a point. On the other hand, it's fun watching Paula keep smacking Bruno down, especially since he seems unable to shut her up.

It's nice that Alex was worried about MJ's hands (though he wouldn't have to be if he hadn't tried to crush them!) while in turn, MJ was worried about his possible injuries from the brawl with Bruno (Alex says they're nothing -- he used to play American football and is used to being banged up).

Alex tells MJ their marriage is valid now because a month has passed and neither of them denounced it. MJ wants to know why he never said anything sooner. Alex tells her that at first it got away from him, and then later he didn't want to. But what I want to know is, did he get into the shower with his trousers on? Because if not, when did he take them off? First he was too busy petting the shower door and then he was in the shower. Did his pants take themselves off?

I don't care about Bruno so I tend to tune him out unless I think he's going to get put in his place. Since Eric's not likely to do that, I didn't pay much attention to their scene. I think it can mostly be summed up as Bruno can't stand Alex, he is determined not to let Alex "win," and he is going to get rid of Alex.

Alex went back to the building where Bruno rented the apartment pretending to be him because this time he has a picture of Bruno he wants to show around, to see if anyone recognizes him. MJ is worried that Alex is going to say something about this to Vic if someone does recognize Bruno, but Alex assures her he won't until or unless he has to. Now, while I can see they're both too nice to want to hurt Vic, this sort of decision is bound to come back to bite them.

The woman who came out of the apartment building does remember seeing MJ, but doesn't recognize Bruno. She says her niece used to clean Bruno's apartment, so of course Alex wants to talk to this niece, but it seems that the niece's husband got a job somewhere else took the niece away with him -- the woman doesn't know where. None of the other people in the building recognize Bruno either, which is a stretch but perhaps not entirely unbelievable since it seems Bruno was only there one day a week. Alex also isn't pleased to hear that MJ used to visit the apartment enough that someone who wasn't working for Bruno recognized her, and even seems to have had a key. MJ plays it down, saying it was just to get things ready for “Alex” when he made his weekly visit. Alex insists this isn't more of his jealousy.

LOL at Raquel's reply when Maura insisted again that Alex told her he was getting a divorce: "Oh yeah, and in what century?"

Bruno isn't at all happy to find Raquel now knows about Alex not having married MJ. Raquel shoots down his first attempt to shut her down (he tells Raquel not to cause a scene or Alex will kick her and her freeloading husband out) because she is all about hating MJ and plenty ready to make a big scene. Then Bruno tries assuring Raquel that Alex is going to get a divorce, but makes the mistake of appealing to Fernando to back him up, which earns him a nasty glare before Fernando stalks off. Bruno points out to Raquel that of course Fernando's not going to confirm something like that because Fernando is Alex's best friend and he knows Alex wouldn't want that kind of stuff being talked about. This shuts Raquel up for now, but if the previews for tomorrow are anything to go by, nothing short of being dead will shut Raquel up for long.

Of course, as soon as Vic hears about this from her puppy love ("Bruno intervened with Raquel to calm her down?"), she decides it's proof that Bruno can't be as bad as Alex is saying, and says maybe it would be best if Alex and MJ do get divorced. Felipa thinks everyone ought to let Alex make his own decisions, but Vic ignores this. Fernando points out that even if Alex's marriage was a trick, at this point it is legal since Alex and MJ are still living together and neither contested the marriage within the month time limit. Grasping at straws, Vic points out that Alex and MJ sleep in separate bedrooms, but even his crush on Vic can't keep Fernando from pointing out that that doesn't change anything. Vic has to settle for whining that she won't stand for MJ "abusing" poor Bruno. Felipa points out that MJ's accusations could well be true, but of course Vic doesn't want to hear that. She asks Fernando what he thinks, and now he finally realizes he's in a bind, because even in the unlikely event Bruno had nothing whatsoever to do with the attempt on Alex, Fernando still knows Bruno is a worthless rat, but Fernando doesn't want to risk forcing Vic to see that. Hoping she will read the glaring neon writing between the lines, he tries to hedge, saying there isn't any proof (of MJ's accusations), but Vic insists. She assures him of how much she values his opinion and puts her hand on his, which is clearly too much for him. "Either MJ and her family have a very powerful reason for lying, or they're telling the truth," he says. But once again Vic overlooks anything that isn't comfortable: She decides that since Pedro was involved in dirty dealings, some associate of his probably forced MJ to do what she did and in order to avoid denouncing the accomplice she blamed Bruno instead. Yes, yes! That's got to be it! Even Fernando looks like can't believe she thinks that makes any sense at all, but he doesn't say anything. Obviously he hasn't given any serious thought to what his life will be like if he should succeed in winning Vic. Now here's a picture: Fernando and Vic living together at her deceased true love's mansion along with Bruno, Alex and MJ, and Paula, with Raquel --whose head will certainly explode if her mother takes up with a younger man, never mind a younger man whose not from "their" social class-- Roberto, and Pedro close at hand. Christmas will be such fun!

Thanks for the recap, Dipity! We appreciate you taking the time to help us Caraymates out, especially when you have the horrific amount of inane craptasm that came out of Casa Lombardo last night. Honestly, I don't know how you stood it.

I personally wanted to murderize each and every one of those imbecilic asshats sitting around without a care in the world, not having to work, or make their own meals, or worry about transportation or having any of the finer things in life, yet all they could do was either sip on MJ-Alex haterade or plot to break them up. When really, MJ and Alex together OR apart does not affect their Free Rides whatsoever.

Bruno... I give him a pass. He is Main Man #1 of Merida villany and he can plot against them to his heart's content--that's his job.

Raquel needs a freaking muzzle slapped over her piehole with a quickness. I mean, that rabid b!tch just won't take a breath, as if she has ANYTHING to complain about (oh yeah, stupid me, I forgot you've got this unsavory crush on your own brother, you cow). Vicky and Nando... just looking at the two of them all high and mighty and deciding two other adults' fates as if they are the Undisputed Voices of Reason made me want to hurl. What the hell do you two know? Nando throwing Alex under the bus just because he's got a crush on Vicky is just out of line. That's like me and my very best friend of 16 years always giving each other support and every benefit of the doubt, until I meet her father, develop a crush on the man, and suddenly begin undermining her to her father because I'm so in luuuurve. (If you're reading this, Teresita, I know you are cracking up. Do not tease me about this when you call me today.) Gimme a break. Nando is on my permanent &%!@ list; good luck getting off of it, douche.

As if RaMaura constantly trolling the grounds of a house she doesn't live in, like some squatter, in isn't enough, now we've got Blond Oily Bombshell escorting her in her trolling. I swear the two of them are like roaches scurring around together, excitedly waving their antennae around, looking for a new hole to come out of.

Is anyone else surprised that the only two people who seem to have a conscience these days, even though they have both been unsavory in the past, is Pimp Daddy and Roberto? Isn't that something? Neither of them are really down with all of the Get Alex/Get MJ stuff going on, and you can see it in their troubled faces.

Poor Felipa. That's all I can say.

Doesn't the Catholic church recognize proxies (someone standing in for someone else at a marriage when bride or groom can't make it)? With the paperwork with Alex's name on it, Bruno standing there in his place, and now three separate hot and sweaty consumations, I dare say Alex and MJ are married. To shut everyone up and cast away all doubt, go to a justice or church and just do it again while you're out of town! Okay??

My Laugh Out Loud of the Night: Roberto and Uli standing very closely together, eying each other and smiling and sharing intimate tales of conquest to what sounded like their very own love theme. ROFL

In the back of my mind, a scared little voice is telling me not to forget that Rufino and his minions are bound to show up in Merida at any time.

Alex tickled the heck out of me by playing possum on that sofa. Pretending to be handsomely asleep while MJ stood there knowing she wanted his attention but not admitting it. Ha. And the way he caressed her shadow with his hand, and traced the shadow of her shoulder... mmmmmmmm. I'll bet Levy himself came up with that as they were shooting. The rascal. :D

The shower scene wasn't cut, so everyone got the real deal this time, thank goodness. For anyone who didn't get to see it last night or would simply like to see it again, I'm linking to my name. Not as much skin as we're used to, but sexy as hell nonetheless. (My brother was all agog over Jackie and all that steam. He loves watching her, and that's good because he can't tease me while I'm ogling Levy. We're a tag team.)

Well, I unloaded a lot this morning. I should be calmer the rest of the day. They were just so irritating last night, like boils on your butt--doesn't matter whether you sit down or stand up, ughh.

Happy Thursday, all.

Thanks for helping our wonderful Dipity out, Anon 4:55.

Wow, amazing how everyone connected with Bruno's scheme is on vacation, switched jobs, or just plain disappeared. Drats.

Just to be clearer, it's everything that Nando has done so far that has me so mad at him. Yes, last night he tried to talk Vicky down a little, but it's only the first time he's done that. And whenever Alex needs some support and the benefit of the doubt these days, he will not give it.

Thanks for the recap Dipity. Good job with a boring episode.

Uli/Roberto--so gay
Maura--fake
Nando--not a good friend really because he can't keep his big mouth shut. He's got his head so far up Vicky's a$$ he can see out of her mouth. He is really pissing me off. Stephe, I agree with everything you said.

Background noises so loud last night. When Alex was getting out of bed I was cringing. It was almost like he was sitting on the microphone or something. Ouch!

Thanks Serendipity for the recap and to Anon. for filling in some detail. Connie, I'm glad you agree about the background noise.
My only complaint about this TN is the loud music and background noise. I'm so trying to watch without CC, but I can barely hear them speaking in some of the scenes. Marianne

Stephe you're my hero. I feel the same way about goofy and doofus. That being Vic and Nando. Shut. Up both of them please.

Felipa god bless her heart tries to make ditzy see the truth about her rotten son.

It seems that MJ has finally accepted they're married now. So she really does need to tell Alex everytime Bruno approaches her.
Better yet alex needs to hire two bodyguards for her to keep Bruno away from her and that will solve the problem.

Serendipity - Thank you for the recap. You understood a lot more than I did last night."MJ is very tired but, not so tired that she doesn't take pause, along with viewerville, to appreciate Ale removing his shirt.
"
AMEN!!!

WHAT is up with the sound in this 'novela??? All the scenes at houses have a roar in the back ground, as if they live right on the interstate. Makes it difficult to hear the dialog. The other night, the ice cubes clinking in glasses was louder than the conversation between (?)Racquel and someone else. Sounded like the mikes were at their waist.

Ah, well, at least we're getting shower scenes . . .

William Levy must be the Brad Pitt of LATAM. Every now and then he reminds me of him, with the blonde hair, etc., something about his looks.

Um… yes,,, I felt totally deprived that they didn’t show Ale taking off his pants before entering the shower. Waaaah.

What’s up with the 30-day rule on a marriage sticking? Is it called the Tijuana Clause?

I didn't understand a word of that conversation between Uli & Roberto, but I read a lot into U fondling R's pendant. Yikes! That looked a little .... different.

ANONYMOUS - Please invent some sort of screen name to sign with your posts, so that we can properly thank you for them. Your understanding of Spanish is waaay better than mine, and I appreciate you filling in the holes.

DPD and Anon- between the two of you, you got all the details. The last thing Bruno said to Erik about what his next move would be is that he (Bruno) needs to make himself into the victim. So looks like the crocodile tears he showed Vicky the other day are the beginning of his woe is me plan. Also Uli and Roberto were definitely remembering the good old days of some hot loving between them. Uli said that he really enjoyed Europe because if there was a woman you were attracted to you could after her, and if there was a guy you were attracted to, you could go after him. There was no stigma attached as there is here (in Mexico). Seems like they are both bi-sexual, or at least Uli is (and Berto only has eyes for him). This should be interesting as Raquel seemed t be eyeing him too...

Stephe- I agree with your whole rant. Loved seeing Alex pretend to be asleep when he knew MJ was checking him out, the middle of the night cuddle, and the shower scene. Since we also didn't see when they brought the soap out and started to sud themselves, I'm assuming the pants came off at some point that they didn't need to show us. :) Loved Paula once again giving it to Bruno ("pug dog in a ponytail"). Lol!

Nando is now getting on my nerves. I thought after his heart to heart with Alex, he would be more willing to step up for his friend and tell Vicki that he trusts Alex's judgement. But no...instead he once again hedges and sits on the fence. And Alex once again questioning MJ. I would be pissed too. One of the things she prayed for in the church is that she is not pregnant, so we know it will happen (because La Virgen never grants prayers until the end of the novela). She also said she knows it's a sin that she and Alex have slept together (because they aren't married), but when he starts to kiss her, she just forgets everything. MJ- You and me sister! I wouldn't be able to resist either. :)

-Vivi in DC

Dipity and anon, what a tag team you are. Thanks for everything. We need you. This is the hardest to understand novela of all time. I'm very disappointed because, due to my hard work, the work of the re-cappers and commenters, I feel like my Spanish is far better than it used to be. But, I can't understand even English over airplanes taking off, loud background music. louder background noise and "sitting" on a microphone" . Sortilegio sound engineers, come to Nashville and learn something about recording. You need to take a very basic course, Sound 101 at Belmont University.

Stephe, in total agreement with EVERYTHING that you said. The cockroach part was the best. Anon, I liked your "Oil Slick", great name.

On Vicky and Nando, like I said yesterday, what annoys me is that they will be happy and together in the end. She'll be walking around, the queen bee that she is, with everyone worshiping at her feet, even our galan Alex. I don't get it...

In agreement with all who are pointing out how ungrateful Raquel and buds are. I don't know why Alex doesn't have the world's biggest ulcer. I wish he could just calm down and trust MJ a little. If he could do that, she would bring him the peace that they both need. Maybe they should move out of the house and let all of their "friends and family" have the, decorated on a LSD trip, technicolor house.

Sandy in TN

Just watched the shower scene again (thanks Stephe!). It looks like as Alex approaches the shower door he is unbuckling his pants. I think he takes them off when he's talking to MJ through the door.

-Vivi in DC

Doris, I never noticed the Brad Pitt resemblance until my daughter walked thru the room while I was watching and said "Okay, he's cute, looks like Brad Pitt" I think WL is better though, love those full lips! Yum

Marianne

During the Cristina show for Tontas, both Jaime Camil and Valetino Lanus called WL the Brad Pitt of LatAm as they were teasing Jackie about filming Sortilegio. So, the comparison is being made.

-Vivi in DC

WOW, seems like we're getting a big MJ/Alex love scene every week. Wonder how long this will keep up until the traditional novela long-separation of the protagonists??
Thanks to Serendipity & Anon of the am for the great recap. As others have said, the sound editing is terrible and I'm having trouble hearing the dialogue. When WL is on the screen, I don't care much about the dialogue but for the rest of the cast...:)

Let me add myself to the gang of "I can't believe Nando is not supporting his BF because of his lust for the mom"! This added to the wooden acting of Gabriel S. is driving me crazy. Also, don't get how Maura delusion that if it weren't for MJ, she'd be Alex's wife. The actress isn't necessarily beautiful and the style of dresses she wears makes her look rather stumpy -- not a good look. Oh well, maybe others disagree but Alex doesn't appear to differ from my opinion!!
The Oil Slick/Roberto pairing seems a little off but I guess Sorti was trying to make a statement in introducing a bisexual couple so they're bound to be a little unsure of how to present them since not sure how the traditionally conservative Mexican novela watchers will react.
Loving Felipa, can't remember who mentioned but she is the Jimmy Cricket of Sorti!

Oh - and Alex outlining MJ's silhoutte on the shower door KILLED ME!!! And yes, Vivi in DC he was unbuckling his pants at the door so I'm sure the pants came off while the camera was on MJ huddled on the other side of the shower door!!
CubsFan

I saw an "insider" critique of Brad Pitt. His face isn't good in close ups, not because he isn't handsome, but because he doesn't have the ability to show strong emotion in his eyes, etc. WL has a very emotional face, and while his crying is a little much, he has the ability to express a full range of feelings...love,hate anger, jealousy, flirtation all in one scene. You KNOW he speaks good English, having lived in Miami since a young adult. Also, he looked athletic as he jumped along the buildings in Saqui. Hollywood needs to discover him, we need new talent.

Sandy in TN

He does look like Brad Pitt now that I think about it. I've been trying to figure out who he reminds me of. I have watched about an hour of Pasion and there he was in the background. Looked really young there. How long ago was that? So then was his first major role in a TN Cuidado? I didn't watch it but only caught it every now and then.

William at one time was going to become an baseball player. I think i read somewhere that he got hurt and got discovered for modeling and then ventured into acting. During CCEA they said Hollywood was approaching his agent about offers. There was even talk about an movie with Kevin Costner i don't hear any mention of Hollywood anymore on his web page. He does speak good english and besides which would be better for us Levy lovers William filming an movie and only seeing him months apart, or we get see William five days a week like we do now. I pick five days a week.

It occurred to me when Victoria revealed that Antonio(?), Alex's father was also the father of Bruno and Raquel that if Bruno and Raquel knew about that fact, they could contest the will in which almost everything was left to Alex.

They would be illegitimate heirs, but heirs none the less. Their blood relationship could be linked directly to Antonio through Alex.

The self-righteous Victoria caused more problems than she could ever imagine by keeping this secret. If she had revealed this to her husband when Alex was a small child, there might not be such bad blood between the half brothers.

Bruno, the beast, is going to play the victim, but in a way, he, too, has been a victim. Guilt and shame on Victoria.

Bruto appears to be a hothead most times, but I must say he has covered his tracks better than any other TN villain I have seen. There is not one person who he hasn't paid off or disappeared that could implicate him or identify him in the plot to kill Alex/marry MJ. Only Erik, and he's not talking. It's his word against MJ and her family's, who, thanks to Papa's under the table dealings, do not look like honest people.

All other TN villains hang on to something that later implicates them (secret boxes, jewelry, documents, etc.), but I haven't seen Bruto do that. Has anyone else caught something that would implicate him?

-Vivi in DC

Pasofino- Vicki's husband (both of them actually) knew the truth about the twins. They made the decision together not to tell the children. Big mistake on their part, but it was a joint decision.

-Vivi in DC

Great point Vivi in DC, I don't think Bruno has kept any momento from his evil doings!!!
CubsFan

Who do you think is the best TN villian? I still vote for Fernando from FELS.

Vivi: Erick is the only real problem for Bruno as I see it, but he'll never rat him out, no cushy job.

Connie: I liked Damian in MEPS, a cute, FUNNY, pink undershirt wearing villian.

Sandy in TN

Bruno has hated Alex because Antonio married his mother. Also he had to share Vicki's love of an mother with Alex, another reason why he hates Alex. I guess Raquel doesn't count in his thinking as an threat because they are twins. Yes so far Bruno has covered all of his tracks. I think that's why Alex keeps looking for the judge who presided over the wedding. I'm sure once the twins learn they are Antonio's children they will contest the will. Bruno because he feels cheated by life an feels everything that should be his exclusively has gone to Alex. Raquel because she needs the money. Antonio did want to be honest with the twins about their true paternity at one time. I think he said that to Vicki before they got married. Vicki because she later became ashamed of the affair with Antonio that produced the terrible twins. Probably talk Antonio out of revealing the truth to them. Remember she was trying to convince Antonio to name Bruno the heir and not Alex when they went to Bruno's college to see how he was doing. Antonio was willing to change it to Bruno as the heir if they found he was doing well with his classes. Whsat they learned was Bruno had been expelled for months was disruptive and ill mannered toward his classmates and professors he showed no respect towards anyone at all. Vicki still after learning all this about her rotten son was telling Antonio he wasn't being fair to Bruno.Antonio then walking with crutches got one stuck in a pothole. got hit by an motorcycle driver and later died. Bruno was lurking about nearby which makes me think maybe he had something to do with that also. Cuidado was Williams first leading role but he has costarred in about four novelas before that. I agree the background noise is very distracting. I'm surprise they didn't notice this while filming.

Thank you very much Anonymous for filling in the dialog.

So I am still a little lost to where Ale and MJ were. I thought they were in town near the accident site and in my mind it was far away from where MJ lived. Was that MJ's town? If so I didn't know that. That's why I was confused about the apartment.

Yes, Ale undid his pants first thing.

Everyone else in this TN has nothing better to do than talk about Ale and MJ.

Thank you again Anonymous! You have so much better understanding than I. (Maybe you would consider doing Wednesdays recap?)

DPD- When Alex and MJ leave the hospital in the town where Chucho was being held, she asks where they are going and he says, to your town. So they do head there. I'm not sure of the geography of all this, but it seems you can drive beteen those two towns within one day.

I hate Fernando as Alex BFF. Who does that to their friend?

I like the chemistry between Alex anf MJ. He knew she was looking at him taking his shirt off. And he doesn't take no for an answer when it comes to taking a hot shower with his mujer!

I also like when Rachel kissed Bruno on his left eye. Brother and Sister stuff...

It looks like Uli and Roberto were together in the pass.

Connie - What is the name of the award show for the TN? It is coming up soon right?

Vivi and Anon. Thanks for reminding me of things I have already forgotten. I still think that Victoria's telling Alex has caused even more problems for him. He seems to be a fair-minded person, but, he's fighting the Devil, and, he knows that he's related to him by blood.

I still say shame on Victoria. She will be punished even more than she is suffering now. And, she has convinced Fernando, who is Alex's best friend, that MJ must be guilty of something. Alex is doubledealing, too. So, I think later on he will be punished, too. Victoria hasn't helped out at all. She just makes the situation worse.

Since i didn't see FELS i have to say Carlota from ENDA right now. That woman is truly an piece of work. She makes Victoria seem like she has good sound judgement. They should give Alex another friend who isn't into his step mother.I'm so turn off to them both too. As soon as either open their mouth i say to my TV Shut. Up.

The point I was trying to make earlier is that Bruno and Raquel could be a greater threat if they find out the blood relationship.

Anyway, Serendipity, you're doing a great job.

You're doing a great job Dipity. I have a hard time with the diaglog because of the background noise. It is very annoying and distracting and sometimes I miss entire conversations.

Serendipitypb: “So I am still a little lost to where Ale and MJ were. I thought they were in town near the accident site and in my mind it was far away from where MJ lived. Was that MJ's town? If so I didn't know that. That's why I was confused about the apartment.”

First Alex & MJ go to rescue Chucho. Once they have done that and visited the woman at Red Cross hospital, MJ asks if they are going back to Merida. Alex says they have to stop in Saqui because he wants to check somethings out. That’s when they return to the building where Bruno had rented an apartment as “Alex”. Alejandro has brought a pic of Bruno this time to see if anyone recognizes him and therefore confirm that Bruno was the one in the apartment. He also goes back to the records hall to see if the judge has returned or if the book where his and MJ marriage is registered has turned up. He has no luck in either case.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Vivi, they were in two different towns. Now it makes since.

Bruno and Raquel could contest but I'm not sure they would prevail:

Antonio knew Bruno & Raquel were his children and still chose to leave the bulk of the money to Alex.

Antonio did leave them each a house so it's not like they can say they were left with nothing.

Thank you too LevyFan!

I wrote Alex is doubledealing. I meant Fernando. Whoops.

Thank you serendipitypb for your muy interesante recap. I also had a difficult time hearing.
The combinationof the actual recap and Anon's notes makes for great detailed and interesting story.

But because of the length, could we please not go off topic today with the best galan game.

Doris (11:58), we are playing the best villan not galan. What better to do after a boring episode like last night? When things are slow or boring, the off topics are more interesting and just our way of trying to liven things up. Just skip them if you don't want to play.

Roberto asked Ulises during their private conversation if he remembered the trip they took together to Puerto Escondido, to which Ulises replied "How could I forget?" I think it's pretty obvious they are either gay or bi.(Sorry if this was mentioned previously, I just had time to skim the comments)
Marianne

OFF TOPIC: I've only seen 3 TN's,
in which Sendel was the villain in 2. I love watching him, so my vote would be Sergio Sendel for best villain. At least he's good to look at while being evil.
Marianne

Dipity, I know there is the latin grammy's next week on Thursday but I'm not sure when the TN Awards are. I don't think I've seen them advertised yet. Those are always fun to watch.

Antonio also stipulated in the will that Alex also had to give them an monthly salary i don't if it said how much per month. I wonder if Alex can prove that Bruno tried to have him killed and impersonated him by marrying MJ if he will allowed to not live up to his responsibilities with Bruno in the will.

I think it said "a monthly amount to live on the scale and in the manner to which they have been accustomed." That way ithey don't have to specify an actual amount.

I don't see any question about the illegality of Alex and MJ's marriage. It was fraudulent. Neither party consented to marrying the (real) other. The certificate is garbage. A signature was forged. The 30 days and consummation have nothing to do with it. They're not legally married. --My humble opinion based on US civil and family law courses take 30 years ago :)

I think Bruno is going to have to die in the end. Being a family member that won't leave, being kinda in the will, being a very BAD EGG from the beginning, having tried to KILL our galan, Alex, having been sorta married to MJ, and having the worst pair of briefs in the history of the world, seals the deal. He has too much skin in the game, there is no choice for the writers. I can't see him going quietly and I can't see him in a "come to Jesus moment" either. Pobrecito

I don't think Bruno is going to like it too much when he finds about the Nando/Vicky thing. That hasn't been broached yet, or has it? He'll see Nando as an opportunist.

Sandy in TN

Beth- Then you are firmly in MJ's camp, because she doesn't believe the marriage is valid either, despite what Alex, her dad and sister say. I, and I think most of us here, have no idea what Mexican law is on this. I was fascinated by what someone (I think Stephe) said earlier about marrying via proxy in the Catholic church. Is this true?

-Vivi in DC

They can't prove that Bruno forged the marriage certificate, and since it a) appears that Alex's signature is on the marriage certificate and b) Alex at first claimed he couldn't remember ever marrying MJ and C) Alex suffered a head injury and everyone in Merida and beyond knows that Alex Lombardo bumped his head, as far everyone outside of Casa Lombardo-Albeniz is concerned the marriage is valid.

The commandante at first refused to accept Alex's statement that Chucho was innocent and that he gave Chucho the watch because he had heard of the head injury.

There are no witnesses to prove otherwise, and Alex & MJ have been acting as man and wife. He's been seen introducing people around Mexico to MJ, his "esposa." They've been seen at parties, restaurants, etc. as "man and wife." Unless Alex comes up with concrete proof that Bruno forged the certificate it's going to be a bit hard for Alex to turn around and say, "Nope never married her," especially if MJ comes up pregnant.

And if he now turns around and says "Nope never married her" people will really think he's crazy, which could impact his business, which would impact his bank account, which would impact the lifestyle of his family, not to mention everyone who works at Lombardo, Inc.

The bright side of Alex losing all his money would be that Maura would drop him like a ton of bricks.

Now, Alex can correct this by divorcing MJ with no bienes (which she's willing to do) or re-marrying MJ.

Sandy in TN, I totally agree with you. Bruno already has a dislike for Fernando due to Alex's confidence in him, workwise. A relationship with Vicky will only fuel his already burning fire of hate for him.

My favorite villains have been Alberto Lafont from Pasion (beat his daughter, had a woman killed by putting her on a wild horse from which she was thrown, stabbed a guy who had just gotten married in the back, etc. etc.), and Rubi, from Rubi (although I only saw the DVD version, she was really bad - and really gorgeous, too!)

Anon 1:10 you have really summarized the whole marriage thing very well. While he wasn't married legally, his accident and his actions afterwards will make it hard to fight the marriage in the court system. Of course, now we have the hijo (I'm sure) to think about.

I think that there is an Alan Jackson song about waking up and finding out that you accidently married an UGLY waitress....maybe things like this happen more that we know!

Sandy in TN

Since the original writer of Tu o Nadie is the same one i wonder if she end this novela like that one.

If Bruno ever found out about Fernando liking his mother the you know what will hit the fan. Bruno already has an unhealthy attachment for his mother that goes way beyond being an mama's boy.

Just as Raquel unhealthy crush she has on Alex. I'm surprise that she's married since she has those feelings for Alex. Didn't Roberto say she was frigid? He must really be an poor subsistute for Alex.

Watched more of Pasion at lunch today. This is going to be a good one!

I think the Raquel/Roberto marriage is like this:

Raquel & Maura are friends.

Maura is a ho.

Raquel was probably getting a reputation as a ho.

Roberto & Ulises are friends.

Ulises is gay/bi.

Roberto was probably getting a reputation as gay/bi.

They all ran in the same circle.

To shut down the ho and gay rumors Raquel & Roberto married.

The end.

Thanks to Dipity, Anon, Vivi , and everyone else for sharing all the details. I still only understand a few words, but I got the general idea. Gee, where to begin ? When I first saw WL in Pasion [wearing that dreadful wig and looking way out of his league] , I thought he looked like Brad Pitt but betterlooking. I can't believe how much his acting has improved. That handsome face is full of emotion [and lips]. Then, we have Fernan-doh [Nondo ?] with that one lost-in-space espression. Take some lessons, Dude. I'm crestfallen that my Rob seems to be romantically involved with Useless [great name , Anon]. We've gotten a look into the lifestyles of the rich and worthless, haven't we ? Hot tubs, sports cars, gossip, clubs, scheming. I agree with the person who pointed out that Eric the Red and Robbberrttoo might surprise us somewhere along the line and turn toward the good. I am starting to like that little red hot chili pepper Paula. I love to see her pull Bruno's tail. I see a lot of similarites between Bruno and Diego in Alborada. They both knocked their moms on the floor. That's a big nono. I'm afraid Bruno's fate has been sealed. By the way, I don't have sons, but I taught in a senior high school for a few years, and , yes, some mothers just keep on protecting their dear little boys and refuse to see their shortcomings. Happens all the time. The shower scene was steamy.

I can't see where the marriage by proxy theory would work. Assuming there really still is such a thing in this day and age, all three persons involved would have to agree ahead of time that the proxy was really acting as groom (or bride) for the ceremony until the real couple could get together, usually for a church wedding. I think this was done with some royal weddings in the past to secure some land holdings or some such.

Since Alex didn't know Bruno was marrying MJ, how could it be marriage by proxy? Alex seems to think that if he doesn't repudiate MJ and consummates the marriage, they are really married. I don't know Mexican law well enough to opine, but it seems to me MJ was married by fraud, and the marriage is not legal.

Good info, Beth. But that's in the US. What about in Mexico?

Oh, Hombre! Yes. Rubi was the absolutely best female villain ev-vah. Wow! Heheh. And Alberto La Font gets my best male villain--gawd what a pig. Fernando Escandon (FELS) was absolutely horrifying. Loved his villany most of the time; occasionally he crossed into The Land of Overkill and Disbelief, but oh well who doesn't. Sergio Sendel has to get Most Handsome Villain award. He simply smolders and the camera loves his face. Mm-mmm.

A friend was telling me about marriages by proxy. Alex and MJ's marriage was not meant to be that, but the mechanics of what happened and a proxy marriage are pretty close. I suppose we'll just have to look more into it. I'm certainly not an expert, I've just got an opinion...

Great comments, everybody! :)

Ah.aaah...Time to commune with my blog-buddies. Thank you all Recappers. And especially our new Anon Recapper! Honey I see you in the wings as Kat takes the other stage! Kat will we see you on UTube?! Jardinera, you take me to higher thoughts and the telenovela becomes an art study.
Now,
I think Bruno does not love his mother at all. He has been cold to her, brushing her hand away when she reaches out to him; and when she was knocked out he was only interested in continuing the fight with Alex. Even Vicky admits that he always talks rude to her.
We have seen him punch MJ and manhandle her even when he wanted her to save her virginity for him. And when his hoodlum driver asked if he loves MJ, Bruno did not say yes or even no. His answer was that he is going to take everything away from Alex. In that conversation last night I got the feeling that Bruno is going to try to make himself look like a poor victim of bad crazy Alex.
And such a plan could succeed because NOBODY in that house gives a dern about Alex. They all want everything or everything their way or everything the way it used to be.
From my point of view, telenovelas are stories about people learning how to love. Some of these characters are going to learn how to love. But I don't expect Bruno will be one of them.

"Now, Alex can correct this by divorcing MJ with no bienes (which she's willing to do) or re-marrying MJ."

You are absolutely right Anon 1:10. Re-marrying (so to speak) would also give MJ peace of mind and avoid any possible legal troubles in the future. Problem is that the two of them are still too new to each other to really commit to doing that. At the same time, they are both too besotted with each other to say goodbye and get the divorce. Plus, a baby (which we know is coming by this point) will complicate their emotions even more.

Why doesn't anyone use birth control? That's what I want to know. OH wait, then there wouldn't be a story. 8(:-)

I'll cast a Villain Vote for the guy who played Diego in Alborada. He was a wretched mess...drank like a fish, tried to kill his primo several times, had his evil henchman kill two guys and beat up others, raped a poor virgin and his primo's esposa, knocked his mom to the floor, shot an expriest in a duel, frequented the local bordella or used the takeout menu and brought the rameras home with him , evicted a family from their finca, rejected his bride on the noche de boda and told her that he couldn't perform because she was fat and ugly, and turned his primo's honey into the Inquistition. Not a nice person. We got to see him use the chamber pot and retch. Odd. We never saw him bathe. Like Louis XIV ,I don't think he bathed . He really brought the crazy and could really ruffle Luis's feathers. Those two were always mixing it up just like Al and Bruno. He also had some great scenes with Mariana Karr. I can't remember the actor's name, but he and Daniela Roma had great chemistry .

Vivi~~~I am always amazed by your logical analyses of these wild novela situations. Are you an attorney ? You have a mind like a steel trap. Love to read your view of things. I just kind float through these novelas. I'm on my little raft just bobbing along wherever they lead me. A wine cooler makes it even better . I try not to think...at all. Kudos to you !

Ha..birth control. Connie~~~You've got to drop by the Gancho site and read Judyb's comments about attending a wedding...and the results. P.S. Pasion is great. I'll bet your loving it.

I cast my votes for Diego (Alborada) and Barbie (MEPS). They were memorable to me because they went so far past me hating them to where I started admiring them achieving absolute evil.

And they don't use test strips either Connie. Cell phones yep. But pregnancy is announced by morning sickness.
However...there was one childbirth that was totally different from anything I have ever iMAgined could EVER be possible. I don't know which TN because I didn't keep up with it but I caught a minute where one character helped the pregnant character give birth threw her skinny jeans. I do not ee.eehzagerate here. Do I have a witness?

Susanlynn- When WL is on the screen, I stop thinking! :) Thanks for the compliment though. Unlike many others in DC, I am not a lawyer. Just one of the many non-profit workers here. These novelas are a great escape from the very real problems the people I work with face.

-Vivi in DC

Bonney- That was WL's last novela- Cuidado con el Angel. I didn't watch that one much (I just found it too silly and drawn out), but tuned in the last few weeks and saw the birth through jeans scene. Lol! That was one of the silliest novela scenes I've ever seen.

-Vivi in DC

OH, that was the name of it! I tried to sometimes watch an episode but it was just too absurd. Did you see when WL went away for 3 months to become an eye surgeon...returning as the top rated eye surgeon in all of Mexico.
I think I must have caught every episode that not only strained credulity but also went beyond the actors' talents to pull it off.

Ah yes, Diego. He was pretty bad wasn't he? I'm enjoying Pasion. Haven't gotten very far but could swear they are using one of the same buildings from Amor Real or FELS--can't remember where I've seen it before. Those are the first two that came to mind. Right now they are selling the girls as slaves and FC is looking mighty fine even with the eyeshadow.

Carlos keeps telling me I need to watch Gancho. It would take me quite a while to get caught up I think. It sounds funny though.

Gancho is hilarious. I absolutely recommend it. It's in a bit of a dark phase right now but there are still a lot of funny bits in each episode. I think it would be enjoyable even without knowing the whole story.

Cuidado was ridiculous...that birth-through-jeans things was only the tip of the iceberg...which is what made it so much fun to recap. Even so, though, I prefer WL as a smart galan.

i'd rather will goes to hollywood since ive heard him speak english heavy accent but its quite good. he could get a job on a primetime soapor a daytime soap. it would probably pay mroe too and he'd get more famous so we'd be seeing him everywhere. caught him on tmz he did a quick interview in english.

I was going to hold off, since there were already so many good comments, but Hombre's comment is bringing me in.
Loved Rubi as the consummate sneaky villain. I also thought LaFont was excellent in Pasion. He was able to bring the crazy in a very convincing way. I always enjoy seeing Sergio Sendel. He's a little like Jessica Rabbit, who claimed "I'm not really bad, I'm just painted that way?"

Thanks for the recap, Serendipity. Also thanks to Anon and other commentors for the additonal info.
La Paloma

can they please get another song besides sortilegio remixed again and again for every romantic scene?

I saw the tmz interview and William english wasn't heavily accented. As for hollywood if we got to see William five days a week like an american soap ok. I don't think i can settle seeing him only once a week in an american prime time show or once an year. Still waiting on news for his next project.

I will enjoy seeing the difference between his performance in Pasion compared to his performance in Sorti.

Bruno I believe does love daffy Vicki in his own way despite his coldness towards her. I think Bruno treats her that way because he feels betrayed by Vicki by being a mother to Alex also. Bruno did not want Vicki to remarry. Then also i think that why he constantly picked on Alex from when they we're little. That resentment has grown towards hatred for Alex. He certainly doesn't act the same way towards Raquel. He probably saw Alex as not being blood related stealing his mother's love from him and that's where him being abusive towards Alex probably stems from this attitude. Once again Vicki fault and Antonio by withholding the truth and taking Bruno and maybe all of the kids to an therapist so they can deal with their affair.

I still can't believe they ever showed that birthing scene from Cuidado on tv. That should have ended up on the cutting room floor.

"Felipa interrupts Rachel's eavesdropping, and Rachel is ready to denounce the whole bunch of them. Fernando and Victoria try to tell her he is married , but it is Bruno who comes and gets her."

It is interesting that Raquel got busted eavesdropping. A lot of telenovelas have people eavesdropping constantly without getting found out. Looks like Felipa uttered a curse word that was *silenced*. I wonder what she said. could not read her lips.

Interesting thing from yesterday,

"Fernando takes offense, especially because trusting in mary Jo's logic is hurting his beloved Vicky, who should be up on an altar, not being hurt by her horible ungrateful children. Alex gripes that Vicky is the only one that Fernando cares about. "well she is the most defenseless", repies Fernando. " Dude are you in love with my mom?"

Alex now tries to get Fernado to spill his feelings for Vicky. Fernando carefully hedges saying, Vicky's like totally awesome and he likes her a lot. Fernando lists all the things he likes about Vicky. He assures Alex that he has never been disrespectful and would never tell her how he feels. Alex says she may be old enough to be his mom, but she's not.

Fernando does not care about nthe age difference. But he's just going to love her from afar, as an impossible love. He's not willing to cross the age line or the class line.

Looks like Alex and Fernando are just now discussing what we have been since the beginning. I'm a little surprised that Alex has not had a sterner sit down talk to Fernando. Bruno and Raquel sure won't tolerate that. I really would be strange calling him 'DADDY'.

Now on to the OT:

You guys were talking about the worst villains. Fernando Escandon is by far the worst. Satan incarnate. Lafont or Bouffy as you guys called him is also a scumbag and a douchebag. Real Evil.

Carlota give me the creeps. I thought Babs was a victime too and felt compassion for her and Gabby was demented who became Fernando's unwilling victim.
Carlota though is just on a different level of mean. One thing Carlota has in common with Gabby is hiding behind the church and the bible justifying their actions. Most especially Carlota.

You guys wanted to know who we like here, here's my picks:

I like Maria Jose and Raquel. Maura is ok too. I'm still neutral on Lisette. Paula is not doing it for me.

Ibarramedia

Did Alex tell Nando Bruno/Raquel are his half siblings? I almost thought Vicky was going to tell Nando that the twins were half siblings to Alex and Raquel came along. But it seems that she overheard that Alex and MJ were not married. Is that correct? But I bet that was going to be next on her lips. They all have big mouths. It's a wonder it's been kept a secret for so long.

Ann-NYC

Didn't Vicki first husband leave an inheritance also for the twins. Probably from their lifestyle they went through it already.

That's why Bruno wants to be the heir to the Lombardo fortune.I believe someone said before it really does not matter if you're the first born.

It's what has been stated in the will that counts. Even when Bruno finds out he's still not going to get what he wants.

Thoughts about love scenes and comparing them with other novelas.

I've noticed how many touching scenes there have been so far with alex and maria and it has only been a few weeks. Compare that with Edwuardo and Fernanda with only a few scenes together, not even on their marriage nite. I also notice that, although I thought that Fernando C was the most handsome and romantic (next to camil); however, Alex is surpassing him in the love scenes. Alex has such soft touching of her face and hair and just the way he goes about seducing her is so romantic. He is also a good lookin dude Ret.

Anna-NYC- I'm pretty sure Alex told Nando about the wonder twins being his blood siblings when he told Nando about the affair Vicki had with his dad. I think the only reason all the beans haven't been spilt up till this point is because Felipa was the only other person who knew, and that woman can keep a secret. :)

Posting late and everything has been covered. Thanks PB, Anon, Vivi and others for filling in the blanks!!

Por supuesto, Fernando, Guillermo García Cantú, for numero uno villain. He's the greatest, pure evil. Some of the other villains had a soft spot, not Fernando Escandón.
He is perfect as the bad guy.

I noticed MJ prayed to Dios, not la virgencita, I say go right to the top. I don't remember that happening before.

variopinto. I agree. I haven't watched that many novelas yet, but the 7-8 I watched, I never saw them pray to Jesus. I am a catholic convert of about 25 years and I don't think the catholics pray that much to Mary in the states. I only see this in the spanish soaps. Possibly the spanish put more emphasis in Mary?? I don't remember doing that at all while a protestant which was the first 40 years of my life. That surprised me also. That was funny, "going to the top". Ret

to anon 7:33. I copied the url and I got a blank black screen for the video part of the screen?? Ret

Thank you everyone!

WL has brought caliente to a new level in my experience of telenovela land.

I have been working on leaves (sp)? all day.

A lot if not all former Spanish colonies and possesions were devoted to the Virgin Mary. Not necesarrily the Virgen de Guadalupe. I think Italians also venerated the blessed Virgin. They even have processions too. Without going into a theological discussion,Catholics pray to God, Jesus, The Virgin Mary and the saints. This is not considered worshipping many Gods. Non Catholic Christina Religions emphasize having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and less with the ceremonial vestiges of the church and it's trappings.

That is all.

Hey guys. Great recap and comments, but does anyone know what Alex says to MJ right before they first meet Chucho...Alex asks her if she's okay and if she wants to go to the hospital? I'm not sure...please fill me in if you got it...

Anon 10:46....right before they go see Chucho, alex asks Mj if she is ok, or if she would like to have her hands looked at. i believe he is referring to her maybe scraping them up when they were at the crash site earlier and she was running up the hill because she was upset...that's what i got anyway.

In reply to anon atThu Oct 29, 10:46:00 PM EDT, you're right. Right after they get out of the car, Alex asks MJ if she's Ok, if she wants to go see a doc. She says she's fine, he asks if she's sure, she says yes. They kiss and then he says "Lets go" and they enter the jail.

Oh okay thanks guys! For awhile I thought it was back to the pregnancy idea. I was wondering why she responded so calmly. In this case, i'm glad that Alex was acting sweet. I think he owed it to her after his random outbursts, though I don't think he means to be as compulsive as he is. Then again, I'd back William Levy up no matter what he did. ;)

--Mrs. Levy (en mis sueños)

Just gettng caught up today. Hubba, hubba! What an episode, and what a recap :)

And thank you for pointing out that bizarre den...the decor on this show is hilarious!
