ENDA, November 4, 2009

Camila and Rafael kiss.

Emiliano tells German that it's all his fault that their friendship is over. German wants to talk, but Emiliano says after the paternity test.

Camila and Rafael are making out and Diana comes knocking on the door. Camila hides. Diana says that she wanted to come over to be the first to see the ceramic line. As she tries to come in she spots Camila's shawl on the ground. Rafael takes Diana back to the party and locks Camila in the office.

Rafael asks Joel to help Camila out of his office and to bring her in the back way as to appear that she just came to the party.

Emiliano comes in and spots his mother. He sighs.

Natalia and Orlando have a drink together. They talk about their problems and the love that Cristobal had for Macarena. Orlando asks Natalia if she loves Cristobal even though he's a priest. Yes, replies Natalia.

Romina fixes Paloma up.

Rodolfo tells Rufi that German refused to show him the testament from Paloma's parents. He has to figure out a way to see it.

Joel gets Camila out of Joel's office. She's worried of what others would think her coming back in again. Joel tells her not to worry. Just Angelica and he saw her come in. The rest of the people are just clients who don't care. They leave and she forgets her shawl.

Carloca is on the phone with Cristobal finalizing her plans to meet with him.

Romina and Paloma come to the party. Paloma is not happy with Romina for not telling here that they were coming to the party. Emiliano and Paloma smile at each other. Diana is busy greeting Romina and then Camila walks in. Romina asks her why she has just arrived. Camila comes up with an excuse that she had to go to the galleria. She didn't realize that Romina was coming. Diana asks Camila what she is doing here. Perhaps it has to do with you designing the ceramics? Rafael interrupts and introduces everyone to Camila as the anonymous investor. Diana is not happy. Camila looks uncomfortable. Diana makes a speech about Rafael and takes the opportunity to kiss him on the cheek. She's playing the role as the loving and loyal wife. Barf.

Orlando takes a mariachi band to serenade Camila, but she's not home. Carloca complains about the noise, but Rufi thinks it's romantic.

Camila and Angelica talk and make up.

Orlando the dumbass is still outside wondering if Camila will come out. He then sends the band away.

Emiliano texts Paloma that he wants to be by her side and yell out to everyone how much he loves her. She responds back "me too". I just feel so uncomfortable here. I want to leave with you and go somewhere else. Emiliano texts back "why don't we do it?" Romina chooses that time to come up and asks Emiliano what he's texting. She wants to see it, but he tells her "don't you know that messages on the phone are private?" and walks away. She's pissed.

Paloma asks Angelica if she will give her a lift home.

Camila goes to get her shawl at Rafael's office. Rafael follows and they start arguing. Camila did not want him to tell anyone of there partnership and Diana is still his wife. She doesn't want to be the other woman.

Camila comes to get Romina to go home, but she refuses. Camila gets after Romina for drinking. Romina is like whatever and tells Camila that she has her own car and will make her way home. Diana comments to Camila how wonderful the design of the ceramics came out. Camila says goodnight and puts on her shawl. Diana remembers seeing it on the floor in Rafael's office. Romina asks her what's wrong. Nothing replies Diana.

Paloma tells Angelica that she feels uncomfortable hiding her relationship with Emiliano. She also says that he's having a paternity test and then they will decide what to do with their relationship. Angelica asks about Aron. He has asked her for help in helping him to conquer Paloma's heart.

Romina asks Emiliano to take her home. But didn't your mother just leave 10 minutes ago? Why didn't you leave with her asks Emiliano. Because I was okay til now replies Romina. I think the champagne went to my head. Joel offers to take her, but she declines. She prefers Emiliano to take her. Emiliano finally relents. Rafael doesn't look to happy as Romina cozies up to Emiliano.

Paloma gets ready for bed. Carloca comes in asking how the party went. Paloma said okay. It was just a party for Emiliano's father's new ceramic line at the factory and something about Camila being his associate. Carloca comments that it must have been hard seeing Emiliano. Let's hope Romina never finds out about your relationship with him. Anyway I came to talk to you about your father. Tomorrow we are going to see him in Pachuca. Paloma is excited.

Camila comes home to find Orlando the dumbass waiting for her. Orlando asks her where she was. At the party she replies. Orlando gets upset and they argue. She's like whatever and goes into her house.

Emiliano brings Romina home. He tells her that she should not be drinking. Paloma spots him outside her window. She has so much to say to him. She doesn't know what she will do if he is the father of Romina's baby. Carloca sees them also and starts talking to herself about Cristobal and how she wants his caresses. Blah, Blah, Blah. Crazy lady.

Cristobal is nervous about his meeting.

Rufi tries to talk Paloma out of going to meet her father. But she insists in going. Rufi asks Carloca if she thinks she' doing the right thing. Carloca says I always know what I am doing.

Camila leaves for work and German is hiding out behind a tree. He rings the doorbell. Romina comes out. German asks why Emiliano gets to have a DNA test and not him. Romina says because he is the father. German says that Emiliano doubts it just as he does. Whatever replies Romina. Even if it were your child, I would never marry you. German throws back that Emiliano doesn't want to marry her. Romina says that he will.

Paloma asks Carloca how she found her father so fast. Carloca tells her that once Paloma found out that Macarena was her mother, it was just a matter of time before she started asking questions about her father. So she hired a private investigator. Paloma wants to know what is name is. Carloca says Juan and he's right behind you dressed in black. Slow mo of Paloma turning around and seeing her father.

But it's not her real father! Paloma is excited to meet him although he isn't. He tells her that he never expected to see her. The only reason he came today was that Carloca told him it was a matter of life or dealth. Carloca plays along and tells him that he still has'nt changed. He tells her that she is just as beautiful as ever. Carloca says I'm not here for that. He asks Paloma were Macarena is at. Paloma informs him that she past away. So that's why you came looking for me replies Juan aka fake daddy. Well don't count on me for nothing. Carloca says I didn't expect anything else from you, but Paloma has a lot of questions to ask you. Macarena told Paloma a tale of a great love between you two. But it's time for her to know the truth. Juan says I have no interest in clarifying anything. Carloca begs him to talk to Paloma. She leaves them both to talk but makes sure that Juan tells her the whole "truth".

Guess Cristobal was not on the phone with Carloca and instead went to visit his superiors in the church. His excellency tells Cristobal that he has heard about his struggle as a man and that he made a decision to stay a priest. So his excellency wants to promote him.

Juan aka fake daddy tells Paloma that he never loved Macarena. He says that Macarena was obsessed with him and got pregnant to keep him around. The love that she claimed we had just exsisted in her head. He went on vacation and that is where he met Macarena and Carloca. Although Carloca is the one that he wanted. But she didn't want me. I was upset at the rejection from her and just found any woman to console me. That is where Macarena came along. Paloma is upset. He claims that Macarena was easy and gave it up even without him promising her the moon. Carloca is watching all this from the cafe across the street enjoying herself. Paloma is crying and says that her mother was not like that. Juan says that he has no reason to lie. Macarena lied to her to appear the victim. He couldn't be held down for having a child after a night of drinking. Paloma cries.

Carloca is on the phone with someone talking about a scheme she has going. Not really sure what it is about.

Diana goes to see Camila. She doesn't understand why Camila has been lying to her. How did you not tell me that you were Rafael's associate? Camila thought that no one would find out. Diana says but I tell you everything and you don't. Well now you know replies Camila. Diana asks if she knows who Rafael is messing with. I want to get back with him and need to confront my rival. I know she exists. The night of the party I saw a shawl on the floor in his office. Just like the one you had.

Rafael finds Orlando the dumbass and tells him not to send little messages thru Diana. Come to him like a man. Orlando tells him to stay away from Camila. Rafael tells him that Camila is the only one that can decide who she wants to be with. And from what I see it's not you.

Diana comments that she saw Camila and Orlando together. Camila informs her that they are through. Really replies Diana. How wonderful and starts clapping. Camila defends him saying that he is a great guy. Diana says you really don't know him well. Have you asked references or talked about his past? No replies Camila. Why did you break up asks Diana. Because right now my priorites are with Romina and her future says Camila. Diana says her future will be secure when she marries Emiliano and they have their child. She requests that Camila not leave her out of the wedding plans. Camila says that's not going to happen. Emiliano doubts that the child is his and is having a paternity test done. He also doesn't love her and doesn't trust her. Diana is shocked.

Juan says that Macarena believed her lies and that is why she told you. Paloma asks if he ever loved Macarena or if he could feel something for her. Juan tells her that she was a mistake. An accident. Carloca is the only one I have ever loved. Your grandfather found out about Macarena's pregnancy and had an attack. He died when he found out you were coming. It's my fault he died asks Paloma. Yes in a way replies Juan. Paloma cries. Carloca tells Macarena (or the air) that Paloma is going to pay for all the pain she caused her regarding Cristobal. I told you to keep away from him. Because he was mine. MINE!!

Manana: Rufi threatens Carloca to tell Paloma the truth or she will.

Can someone please tag this for me? Sorry for being so late, but was out late last night in a meeting. Work related.

Gloria: Thank you for the wonderful recap. I admire your tell it like it really is style, i.e. "She's playing the role as the loving and loyal wife. Barf", "Orlando the dumbass" and my favorite "Blah, Blah, Blah. Crazy lady." Perfect.

Some interesting revelations. Rafa telling everyone Camila was his investor was careless and thoughtless, particularly as Camila made it clear she wanted anonymity. Nat's admittance she still loves Cris gives hope to the idea they may end up together, particulary as Cris/Padre Juan clearly looked uncomfortable upon hearing he was to be promoted. I'm not convinced the priesthood will be his vocation forever.

Carlota has now wounded Paloma in every possible way. Twisting the truth to portray Carlota as the wounded party was an evil stroke of genius.

Notes to Orlando: If you are planning another sererade, find out if she'll be home. Second, stalking is not good - just what part of we're over don't you get???

Looks like Rufi is insisting Carlota come clean with Pal. Sure Carlota will slither her way out of this, unfortunately.

I tagged it.

I love your blunt characterizations, Gloria. So funny. "Blah, blah, blah. Crazy lady" is pretty much a perfect description of everything Carlota does.

If Paloma had a gram of analytical ability, which she doesn't, she would start to pick apart fakeJuan's story pretty fast. Carlota had him lay it on way too thick with how fabulous Carlota is and how awful and trampy Mac was. Paloma should suspect this story does not in any way jive with reality.

I hope Rufi does set Paloma straight when she sees how upset Paloma is, but I worry she might be signing her death warrant by warning Cruel that she wants to tell.

Thanks for the recap, Gloria.

Julia, I agree about Rufi; she's at risk. And surely Carlota's horrible scheme can't be uncovered so soon.

That scene with Pal and the actor was simply awful, awful. It was like watching kids torturing animals. Carlota is a sadist. She knows very well that Paloma worries about people around her dying, so she's sure to add to her script the part about her conception causing her grandfather's death. I hope Rufi can undo the damage, but I've lost hope these writers will give Paloma a break.

I know men are supposed to be gentlemen in telenovelas, but I wish just once Emiliano and/or Rafael would push Diana and Romina about 5 ft away in full view of the crowd when they go into their loving spouse routine to impress a group of people and/or photographers.

Gloria, love your sense of humor!

If only Carloca would put all of her efforts into something constructive instead of evil, but then we would not have a TN.

Romeana is a mess, what did Camila ever do to deserve her?

I doubt if Padre Chris will ever leave the priesthood, his one and only true love was Mac. He had a chance with Nat but just couldn't do it then and will not do it now.

Rafa needs to get out of Dodge and meet some new people. I just don't see him with Camila and he needs to find a way to Ditch the Witch.

rsk

I am liking Paloma less and less with each episode. How can she take the word of a total stranger and an abusive aunt and disregard what Mac told her about her conception???? Wake up Paloma and use some of those underworked brain cells!!!!

Thank you so much, Gloria! And a belated thanks to Julia too for yesterday’s. I’ve never seen such dense writing in a telenovela, and I’ve never hit replay so much. There is tons of dialog and it seems like everything is significant with only rarely wasted words, unlike most telenovelas where you can fast forward, or even miss some days, and not miss a thing. So your recap is hugely appreciated.

That sure was a short party at the ceramics factory. I felt sorry for all the ladies who had had their hair done and got in their best outfits just to come and go so quickly. Also, I had the feeling that Diana didn’t suspect that the shawl was Camila’s – she said that it’s a common style and didn’t look squinty-eyed at Camila.

Paloma’s dress was pretty hideous.

I was surprised to see Angie there with Joel – I thought they’d just broken up.

Boy, didn’t you love the script that Carlota had come up with, in which the handsome actor was desperately in love with her? But what a scummy guy that actor was – he could see Paloma was horribly wounded and yet he kept laying it on. What kind of human being (who is not Carlota) would take part in something like that? I was disappointed too because we keep waiting to see Cesar Evora and I hoped it might be him.

Yeah, Julia, I’m scared too that Rufi is in danger. I just love her. I looked the actress up on the internet and found that she’s had a huge, long career in film, theater and telenovelas. She was quite a beauty in her youth and she’s still beautiful now. I think she’s about 78.

Yes, that script was really something, total fantasyland for Carlota. It would have done the job for the guy to just say he never wanted a child and had deserted Macarena. But she had to (as the Brits say) overegg the pudding with the crapola about Cruel being the one he really loved, saying it over and over.

Not just that, but "Carlota was too pure and moral, too intelligent and innocent, and Mac was just a slut." As if. Carloca would have been on the first express train to Hoochieville had Cris offered her a ticket.

I don't see why Ange wouldn't be there with Joel. They had only been on two or three dates so I don't think there was any real animosity between them, he was just disappointed. He would probably want any friends he could get to come celebrate his company's success, as he doesn't seem to have many close people in his life other than Rafa.

"first express train to Hoochieville". Lol, Julia! I had to leave the room once FauxJuan started spinning his story, so I didn't see the rest of the show after that. Please Paloma, wake up and get some reasoning skills!

I don't understand why Rufi has to go to Carloca and announce her intention to tell Paloma the really real truth if Carloca doesn't. Come on! If the woman went to the trouble of hiring an actor with a cruel story, then why would she suddenly have a change of heart. Rufi now sees that the secret has resulted in Pal being hurt worse than Mac could have ever imagined. That should trump any promises to keep the secret made to Mac before she died. Tell her already Rufi!

Thank you Gloria, Maggie and Julia for your LOL funny recaps --I really enjoy reading them, much more than watching the show itself. Anyway, since I don't have to recap tonight due to the Latin Grammys, and we still don't have a Friday recapper, I can recap Friday's episode (though it will probably be shorter than my usual recaps, as I need to be up early Sat. morning for a class).

A lot of people have said that Carloca is spiteful and jealous. Lets include envious and hateful. I get the feeling that Mac was more loved by their father between the two of them.

Then you throw in the Cristobal factor.

She has been making first Mac then Paloma pay for Cris not choosing her.She has done anything and everything to keep both near her to take out malicious sadistic hatred out on them.

It's time Paloma stop following in her mother's footsteps. Stop being weak and gullible and listen to Rufi, Lilliana, Angelica and Camilia.

I blame Rufi for what happened yesterday. She had so many chances to tell Paloma about who her father is. Even though Mac didn't want Paloma to know. Rufi knows how Carloca really is.

Her ultimatum to Carloca means she's either Carloca next victim or she'll be fired.

I think Diana does suspect Camilia is the other woman, i think she was just wanting to see how she would respond.

The person Carloca was talking to at the cafe was the person who got her the actor to play Juan. She was saying she would pay half now and the rest later.

I'm ready now for Carloca's schemes to stop working in her favor. I wonder to when will the Cesar Evora character will show up.

Underworked and underdeveloped brain cells.

Didn't Alonso say he would start an investigation of his own concerning Paloma's inheritance? He's needs to comeback from where ever he is too.

Carloca for all of her complaining about the mariachis making noise in the middle of the night was enjoying them too. She was probably imagining Cris sending them for her.

Isn't Paloma also suppose to be smart? That's why she received the scholarship for college she is top of her class.

Vivi, you are so right! Over and over in telenovelaland the good guys defiantly tell the bad guys what they're "going to do", giving them plenty of time to thwart the plan.

What if Em put Romeana in his car telling her he was taking her on a picnic and ended up at DNA Central? Whole different novela.

What if Macarena ever closed her door for a conversation? What if she got a cell phone for cripesake and talked to Cris in the park? Whole different novela.

Gloria, enjoyed the recap. Thank you.

Yes, "Orlando the dumbass" is a stalker, too. He needs to find a hobby to fill up all that Camila stalking time.

Paloma has "book larnin" skills (analytical thinking and may be considered college scholarship material as mentioned) but she is lacking street smarts and common sense. I know a few people like that and it's frustrating.

LOL. Carloca's story makes her the desired one and Mac the desperate, obessessive and manipulative one.

Yes, Rufi needs to stop telling Carlota all her future moves or she'll be gone one way or another before she has a chance to say a word.

Wonder when the ADN results will be ready and, of course, be completely false thanks to Carloca.

GinCA

Oops....obsessive not what I spelled by accident. GinCA

GinCA, I think they said 7 to 10 days for the DNA results. Hard to tell how many episodes this will be.

Debbie, thanks for the offer to do a Friday recap. It would definitely be appreciated. Bare bones is fine; we can fill in the blanks.

Gloria, thanks for the great recap of an interesting episode.

For those of you who watched La Fea Mas Bella, doesn't Orlando look and act somewhat like Aldo? And isn't he the same type --who "LUCHA" for amor, no matter how much he pressures and offers unwanted attentions? By the way, the "actor" who played the fake papa of Paloma was Marcia's novia in LFMB.

I just don't get this idea of fighting for love when the other person really isn't interested. Is it a Latin thing? I've heard it over and over on telenovelas.
NJ Sue

Lol it was too funny how the fake Juan was all in love with Carlota cause he wanted to bang her lol but chubby ole Macarena fell for his perverted charm over a couple of drinks one night lol.
You can see why maybe dumb Paloma would believe it with tia Carlota being all young blue eyed thinner probably a dark blond back then and he would want her over young chubbie grey eyed Mac.
Oh nooooooo I thought it would be Natalia but Tuffina ur next boo boo if u wanna get all fierce with Carlota ur gonna pay.

Orlando is acting like a tool. He'd have more of my sympathy if he'd do something about Gruelelia or whatever her name is supposed to be instead of harassing Camilla and Rafa.

Paloma needs a personality.

NJ Sue, I do hear more of the fight for your love in songs in Spanish. Maybe someone who listens to more popular songs in English than I do could correct me on this.

An example of this was on last night's Grammys when Luis Fonsi sang the megahit: Yo no me doy por vencido.

Some lyrics:
Y te lo digo a los gritos
Y te ríes y me tomas por un loco atrevido
Pues no sabes cuanto tiempo en mis sueños has vivido
Ni sospechas cuando te nombré

He sings about NEVER giving up, waiting and waiting until the woman loves him back.

Angelica, the psychologist has the right idea about this stuff. She counsels Aron that nothing can make someone love you when it isn't there. And she's followed her own advice, finishing out her work time with Orly, but not pushing for anything else because she knows he loves Camila.

This would be an interesting conversation to have with someone born in Latinamerica, to see if this plays out in real life or is obsessive love only true in telenovelas and popular songs.

But even when the love isn't one-sided, they are always having to "fight" for it in telenovelas.

Paloma and Emiliano, for example, are always talking about how they will fight. They can never just make it easy and say "we're getting married, that's that," there must always be conflict and skulduggery involved...because telenovela men have a really hard time saying "no" to the insane obsessed women who are after them.

Julia i have to disagree with one of the reason these women have become insane and obsessed is the telenovela men has told them no. Theyt no longer want to be in a relationship with them because they have fallen in love with their soulmate.

That's enough to hurt any woman with self respect and pride. For these novela women it just pushes them to right over the edge.

Julia, you're right. There's always an obstacle in every romantic relationship in telenovelas. The pareja always has to fight to be together. Often there's an evil moustache-twirling villain after the heroine and an, usually blonde, evil seductress after the hero.

Guess there'll never be one where they meet at a friend's party, court for 6 months, get married happily and have 4 kids. It probably would be like watching paint dry.

But I do think the anguish in ENDA is laid on with a trowel. The plot moves and the acting is mostly good, but 171 episodes of Paloma getting kicked around like a soccer ball (and hardly ever getting pissed off about it) is probably too much.

In the original, once Cecilia (Paloma) and Gerardo (Emiliano) got together they were not separated again, of course they only got together in the third part of the novela. ENDA made things happen quickly: Emiliano was already inlove with Paloma when Iñaki was alive and she started to fall inlove with him just a few episodes after Iñaki's death. Originally Gerardo had almost no contact with Cecilia while she was with Joaquin (Iñaki) and they became friends while they were grieving his death, then they fell inlove and Gerardo admitted his feelings to her after her aunt/mother's death.

Jarocha

Yes the anguish is laid on thick with the trowel on ENDA. Tghe one very true moment Paloma showed she wasn't going to take it anymore from Carloca was when she was in the hospital after the car accident with Inaki. She told Carloca she would rather die than to ever live with her again. Then Carloca had to change her nasty attitude with her. Paloma fell for it hook line and sinker. She needs to go to Dr. B and see if he recommend something for her to retain her memory or keep focusing on what evidence she does have.

Thanks, Jarocha. I always enjoy your comments on novelas. I guess they're all refritos now. I can't think of one that hasn't been done before.

Mi Pecado wich comes after ENDA is an original story, but the themes do resemble some novelas of the past. It's difficult to find something that hasn't already been done in 50 years. Televisa needs new blood, and I mean TALENTED younger actors, writers, producers, etc. the ones they have are getting old or retiring.

Jarocha

I would have to say it's the producers and writers who really need to come up with fresh and original ideas.
