Corazón Salvaje WED 2010-08-18: The Return of Arcadio Guerre -- a return, a lover switch and there will be war

Episode 127

At Raúl's, Noel asks Alberto's permission to take his daughter for a stroll; and he assents, noting after they depart that what's going on between them seems like more than simple friendship. Inéz has reservations, though, and grants Noel is a really good man; but with discomfort points out that he's married.

Raúl agrees, with caveats: he's married to a woman who never loved him and that only ever made him unhappy; Leonarda has always been in love with Rodrigo and cheated on Noel despite him being an exemplary person. When Raúl contends that Noel deserves love with a good woman like their daughter, the parents remain hesitant.

Noel and Mariela stroll companionably, with her just saying she sees a glimmer of light in her life now, when they spy Rodrigo and Leonarda approaching from the opposite direction. Noel deliberately removes his sunglasses and calls Rodrigo out again. "You're a coward," he says. "A fraud!"

Noel waited on the dueling ground, and Rodrigo never came, Noel accuses. When Rodrigo claims the death of his daughter so devastated him that he couldn't get out of bed, Noel's not having any of that. Rodrigo's always looking for the perfect excuse, Noel says. But nothing justifies his cowardice!

That's enough! Leonarda spits out; they don't need to be arguing in the middle of the street, she says, glancing around. She cattily adds she sees Noel's going around with "widows" now, a shot at Mariela -- who warns she's well aware of Leonarda's depravity and not to mess with her.

Leonarda and he don't live together, Noel says, nothing ties them together, and Leonarda clearly flaunts her lover -- cane pointed at Rodrigo; so he doesn't mind telling her that he's started the legal process to remove every entanglement still binding them. Leonarda heaves a great, facetious sigh; and Noel and Mariela walk on.

The two of them reach a solitary park bench; and Noel is about to apologize, but Mariela needs none. They sit together, where Noel must capitulate and declare his love, under the onslaught of Mariela's warm, seductive ways. He's very serious, he insists; since they met he's not stopped thinking about her.

And he'd like to know whether she feels anything for him and if he could expect... he stammers; well, she knows he's arranging his affairs so that he can be free to offer her something serious and proper, he begins. Mariela takes pity on his discomfort, intrigued by this turn of conversation.

Noel, she says, smiling shyly; he must know that she feels something special for him, too. Noel's face lights up with joy and relief. She knows his story, Mariela continues; that he's never been loved. Haltingly, she reveals that she'd like it to be she who shows him what true love is -- because he deserves it.

Realization and pleasure dawns on Noel's face as he concludes that this means, that she means, that she agrees... he runs on. Mariela places her fingers over his lips and finishes, that she agrees. With a tender smile, she agrees to join together with him and find love again. Taking up Mariela's hand, Noel lingeringly kisses it as his black eyes blaze at her from under his top hat.

At the finca on the entry landing, Leonarda must remove a muslin dust cover to sit on the settee. Glancing around, she bemoans that her family is in shambles and nothing is the same; she's lost everything! Even her son; but one thing she will not lose is her freedom, she vows. She will not go to prison; she'll never let them lock her up. Never!

And at his townhouse, Rodrigo dwells on Noel berating him. With a big gulp of cognac, Rodrigo realizes that he trusts no one now, not even former friends, like Noel. He's sure that any of them would be happy to do him harm, and that Noel will probably show up there; so he'd better high himself out to the finca, he decides.

Another lightning storm engulfs the finca, as a pair of boots enters the straw-strewn catacombs, greeted by a resident rodent. Leonarda sleeps in her chamber, now gazed upon by a shadowy figure outside the door. Lit by a sudden flash, the boots enter the chamber; and Leonarda awakens, asking who goes there.

But before she can strike a match, she drops the box in surprise when the storm reveals the familiar face of her true lover. You? she asks breathlessly. But that's impossible! The huge, leonine head of Arcadio peers back at her in the flashing light.

At the cottage, Regina's stumped at Juan accusing her. She didn't seek out Renato; he found her! What's more, she was looking for Juan, she effuses excitedly. Regina has a wonderful surprise... she begins. But Juan interrupts, shouting instead that he has a surprise for her!

What an idiot he is, he grits out, jabbing a finger at her; when will he ever learn that as a Montes de Oca, Regina is his worst enemy! Regina is completely mystified; what is he talking about? Why does he doubt her love? Pushing the wad of Aimee's annulment letter at her, he says Here! This is what he's talking about!

She started annulment proceedings on their marriage, did she not? Juan accuses. Regina, in shock, takes the paper, as Juan nastily charges that now Aimee is dead, the way to Renato is free, isn't it? Hearing this, a furious Regina instantly hauls back and lays a blistering smack against Juan's face.

How dare he say that; and how dare he malign her sister with her not here to defend herself! Regina shouts. Looking down in desolation at the crumpled paper, Regina thinking of the baby, regrets this could have been a wonderful day; but now it's destroyed by his doubts, she says.

Bitter tears coming, Regina also regrets that he will always be Juan del Diablo! Sobbing, she exits the room, leaving Juan with his big face hanging out. He follows, sounding contrite, begging to speak with her. He just wants to know the truth, he says; he wants to know if she started the annulment procedure.

But the stunned and silent Regina only inflames Juan's ire. Why does she keep silent? Her silence makes him think it proves the damned letter is the truth! he shouts. Regina turns to him and tearfully points out it's not her silence, crumpling the paper again; it's his stupidity!

She's forgiven him before, Regina says, but this is too much -- too many times he's doubted her love. And does he know why he doubts? It's because he still hasn't learned what it is to be loved! He resists it! Resists love. Regina can't fight his doubts any more, because she can't win.

She can't convince him of her love, and she prays to heaven that the day he's convinced doesn't come too late. Juan looks a little abashed and confused; but when Regina tells him she doesn't want to have anything to do with him anymore, it's a blow.

In Leonarda's bed chamber, Arcadio confirms she can believe her eyes; it's really him. Hypnotically, he explains he's the only one who never abandoned her; he's always tied to her and what happens at the finca. He heard a rumor the Montes de Oca were in shambles, and that's why he's here.

Leonarda seems entranced, and when Arcadio assures her he's there so she doesn't have to worry, she cries in relief. Referring to himself in third person, he continues his mesmerizing recitation: Arcadio has returned to protect her and take care of her, as always.

Leonarda goes to him and whimpers gratefully that he's returned to protect her. He was gone so long, she thought he'd gone far away, she says. But no, he continues soothingly, he was not so far away -- he was always close by to stay informed. He heard what happened. Appealing with open arms, he explains he's the only one she can trust. Leonarda wrings her hands and nods assent.

Everyone has abandoned her, Arcadio points out -- including her son! At that moment, Renato sits drinking cognac and remembering the horseback scene earlier. Shaking his head, he tells himself derisively that Juan will always be the savage, and he can't allow Juan to mistreat Regina. Renato's going to proceed with the annulment right away, he determines.

At Fulgencio's, Eloísa can't sleep and carefully rises from bed so as not to wake her husband. She's sure Fulgencio is lying to her; he doesn't trust her. Much better she grabs the money and jewelry and runs before he offs her, she decides. Under the fluffy peignoir, Eloísa is fully dressed, and she slips out into the hallway.

At the cottage, Regina can't believe Juan demands she answer yes or no to whether she started the annulment. Can't he see he's offending her? He's never going to understand her feelings, and she always falls for believing they can weather anything, which is sadly untrue, she says. Juan disappoints by insisting Aimee must have known something to send that letter.

In her bedroom, Arcadio distresses Leonarda, pointing out he warned her about Rodrigo, but she wouldn't believe him. He, Arcadio, was always everything to her! he insists. It's true, and she has no one to turn to, she admits. When Leonarda begs Arcadio to stay with her, she tries to take his hand; but he pulls away.

She takes it again and pleads that he not abandon her. He'll stay, he says; but only on condition that she split the secretly hoarded fortune from all these years. And moving to the bed, he adds that she'll belong to him and nobody else! Everything will go his way. How about it? Arcadio says with an outstretched hand.

Back at the cottage, Juan allows that Aimee was a liar and fooled everybody; but there was always a kernel of truth in her lies. And when Regina won't answer the simple question, it makes him wonder if she doesn't think much of him. When Juan posits that maybe she wants her freedom start a new life, Regina can't believe it.

Why would she do that? she asks. Juan throws up his arms -- how does he know, to dream that Renato loves her? Now that he's a widower, Juan says, jabbing a finger at Regina's nose, all she needs is an annulment. Regina maintains it's his imagination, and he has no proof at all. Everything he's saying stems from his pride, she insists.

Regina begs him not to fall back into that. Juan doesn't like it, but she won't give him his answer; so he shouts Whatever! and strides out of the house. With Juan standing at the window outside, Regina moves to and fro inside. She almost follows him, but doesn't. They each stand in the aftermath of their argument alone on their own side of the wall.

At Fulgencio's, Eloísa nearly backs out, but decides she must move forward with her plan. Entering the study, she gives herself a fright knocking something to the floor; she doesn't want Fulgencio to awaken and find her. Eloísa's just beginning to crack the safe when she's startled by the squeak of a hinge, and the door opens behind her.

Worrying in the cottage, Regina gets a twinge of morning sickness and is momentarily joyful about becoming a mother; but then gets sad again remembering how she hoped Juan would go crazy at the news, too. Cradling her abdomen she smiles and resolves to fight for her baby, even if it has to be alone.

Eloísa nearly faints from relief it's not Fulgencio coming through the study door, but instead a black cat. Apparently not superstitious, she sends the cat back out and returns to safe cracking. She laughs thinking of Fulgencio finding his loving wife has left him, carrying away all his fortune.

Now he's going to pay, Eloísa says grudgingly, for all those years she had to put up with him. With a click, the combination works, and she stands back to enjoy this portentous moment. Behind this door, she says, are the hopes and dreams that will give her a new life! Pulling it open, Eloísa gets a bullet between the eyes.

Awakened by the gunshot, Fulgencio enters the study, kneels to kiss his dead wife's hand, and closes her staring eyes. Regretfully he recalls he always warned her that the price of betrayal was death. With a last longing gaze, he orders Servando to put her with Federico and clean up every drop of blood.

At the bluffs above the surf, Fulgencio stands as Servando lugs two body bags to the edge. Fulgencio always thought he'd die before Eloísa, he says, looking up; and be buried on such a night full of stars. Tossing a red rose on her shroud, he tells Eloísa that he truly loved her and that it's too bad she couldn't appreciate him.

To Federico, Fulgencio says he got what was coming to him for betraying Fulgencio, poor bastard. The man hasn't been born who can get away with that, he vows. Fulgencio orders Servando to heave them over the edge, but be careful of Eloísa; she's a lady -- and his wife, after all. And they tumble down the cliff.

Turning to Servando now, Fulgencio repeats that whoever betrays him dies; and Servando tries to talk himself up, but Fulgencio skewers him, too. Who knows, perhaps we'll see each other in hell, Fulgencio says; and Servando joins the two body bags at the shore line.

Leonarda lies with Arcadio in bed, where she agrees to share everything with him and be his woman. He promises to spoil her, give her whatever she wants -- as long as she's faithful to him, of course. Meanwhile, Rodrigo has arrived at the finca and looks for Leonarda. He startles them by knocking at her bedroom door.

At a bonfire on the beach, Juan tortures himself over the annulment; he can't believe Regina would start it, but she wouldn't deny it! He fills Remigio in on their argument, and Remigio has lost patience. Why doesn't Juan see Regina's telling him he's got it all wrong?

But Juan needs to know for sure, because he intends to let her do what would make her happy. If she really did start the annulment and wants to be free, he won't keep her -- as much as it would break his heart, Juan says.

This was the scene between Noel and Mariela I was waiting for; it gave me goosebumps!

OMG!! Jeri, beautiful recap!! Your recap of Noel and Mariela's scene on the bench was better than actually watching it. You absolutely captivated it!

Thanks for the details on Juan and Regina's converstaion. So frustrating those two!

Arcadio's return, he is so creepy!
Leo and he together, creepy times 2.

Thanks you so much for the recap. Looking forward to the comments today!

Bernadette

Jeri, great recap! I actually watched the show, great to finally see Elo and Servando meet their maker. When I saw Orca and Leo doing the nasty I just wanted to gag! Thank goodness it was dark, they are one couple that fortunately less is more. Juan and Regina, now there is a couple I love seeing getting hot and bothered. Great to hear EY will be on in "la verdad oculta" after CS end! I caught Aribeth's link to the clip of that telenovela and WOW, looks like some real sexy scenes of EY.

Jeri, this picture was worth a thousand words. It mirrored so much pain. Juan blinded by suspicion and the inability to accept pure, joyous love and Regina, devastated by his distrust and rejection.

The recap was spectacular. So many wonderful lines including: "Leonarda heaves a great, facetious sigh", "...where Noel must capitulate and declare his love, under the onslaught of Mariela's warm, seductive ways" and my favorite, "...his black eyes blaze at her from under his top hat". Ahhh, and do they did.

First, the Bad. I tried but failed to muster any sympathy for Juan. I'm totally aggrevated with him right now - he's beyond stubborn. His entire world is telling him he's an ass, he's wrong about Regina and still, he refuses to listen and/or see the truth. He's lowered himself to Renato's level. Blech.

I thought Fully might be a little more creative and devise a different method of murder, but why tamper with success (so to speak). I think I might have exercised a little more caution opening the safe - did Eloisa learn nothing?? Goodbye Servando. You will not be missed.

Next, the Beautiful. Noel was divine last night. Those eyes, those steamy looks...He and Mariela have simmering chemistry. It was so touching, my eyes teared up (yet again). :)

Cheers to Raúl for his enthusiam of Noel and for explaining to Mariela's parents the non-existent state of his "marriage" to Leonarda. I can't blame her parents for being upset - although they like Noel, they are understandably upset at the situation.

Next, the Ugly. So Arcadio rears his "leonine head". I was a little taken aback in seeing the spellbinding effect he had on her. He bided his time and struck at the right moment. She, stripped of her house and her world crumbling, who else could comfort her but him. In demanding a portion of the fortune, he may have shown that while besotted, he wasn't totally captivated.

Rod walking in on Leo and Arcadio would have been great. However, it seems as though the writers might give Leo yet another reprieve.

A stong episode with excellent performances.

Thank you Jeri. You did such a wonderful job. Loved the scene with Noel and Mariela.

Arcadio and Leo UUUGGGG.

I would have thought that Eloisa would have been a little more cautious after what just happened. How stupid can one get. Well Fully just might forget he put that gun in there and when he opens the safe it just might go off on him. Wouldn't that be sweet.

Bernadette, I knew you would like this ep! :D I am looking forward to Noel's divorce, and he should look edible at his wedding.

terrylee, I watched Aribeth's clip, also; and it is too bad Univision never showed it. As much as I always like EY, I have to agree with Aribeth that he looks especially good at that time.

Diana, indeed excellent performances. The cast is so good; I enjoy them a lot. I agree with you about Juan; he is a pain in the neck. Some misunderstandings I can live with but like Regina said, this is too much. He is so stubborn.

Lynda, I hadn't thought about that, but the safe gun would be a good way for Fulgencio to go. And even though people like him, how can he get away with so many murders?

Thank you Jeri, great job, very poetic!

Both Juan and Regina can be infuriating. I understand her point of view but I also can see how it enrages him that she won't just deny it. Of course, would he believe her? Too bad we are having more of stupid instead of a sweet time. There isn't that much time left.

I liked the return of Arcadio, that was fun. Leo must really be at the bottom to sleep with him openly like that. He has been unflinchingly loyal to her, but once he sees that she is trying to blame him for everything that will probably change.

I thought Eloisa was pretty stupid not to remember what happened when Fed opened the safe. For sure Fully has to come to some end for killing so many people.

Thank you, Jeri, your recap is lovely.

*sigh*
While I still like this big bipolar manchild (and I've seen worse heroes in telenovelas), I agree that Juan's trust problems are tiring as hell, and what's worse is that the script is awfully incoherent. What happened in the Friday (here: Monday) episode? Juan told to Aimee's grave to f*ck off and he won't doubt Regina. I was glad to hear this - at last here's a hero who doesn't believe the lies he was told. And what happened in the next episode? He continued whining to his friend as if nothing had happened an hour ago. Wtf?

Regina is his worst enemy
He told the same to Aimee in the cave after realizing that she's a MDO.
It was low. Almost as low like when he told the terrified Reggie on Luzbel that they will do the deed on the wedding night like it or not.

I understand that his accusations hurt Regina much, but she couldn't open her big mouth when she should defend herself.
1. I didn't send any letter to Renato. It was for Clem.
2. I didn't want to hug Ren on the street. He jumped on me.
3. I. Don't. Want. To. Annul. Our. Marriage. This is a lie. Aimee told me that Ren was scheming against us.

And the jolly jokers:
1. I saw you in the prison sucking Aimee's face and but I never mentioned it because I'm sure that you didn't want her to kiss you. Yes, I was devastated at first but then I realized that you luvvvv me.
2. By the way, I'm pregnant.
Come on, Reggie, it isn't hard. :)

Eloisa is the stupidest cow on the field. In the original story Fully's wife didn't die, but at least she wasn't as obnoxious as El-Ho.

Bye-bye, Servando. How many dead bodies are there under that rock? Some former victims of Fully, Gris, Fed, El-Ho, Servando. It's a miracle that CSI Branko didn't find those cadavers. :)
(And Aimee died near to that place.)

Oh, Noel, you rock.

Loved the recap Jeri. What a frustrating episode. Juan is so bullheaded. I thought I could hear the collective groans when Juan started that, "You're Montes de Oca; you're my enemy," rant. Ugh.

I can see why Juan was frustrated because Regina wouldn't give him an definite answer just as I could see why Regina wouldn't answer because once again Juan doubted her love for him. On top of that, I guess she's not going to tell Juan about the baby on the way. Talk about banging your head against the wall.

Arcadio's back and once again making claim to Leo. I loved this description, "The huge, leonine head of Arcadio peers back at her in the flashing light." Poetic. So cowardly Rod is coming back to the finca because he knows he's mad too many enemies who would love to see him in prison. What's going to happen with the unholy threesome all together at the finca?

Renato is going to go ahead and push the forged annulment papers through no surprise there. Eloisa once again underestimated Fully to the detriment of her life. I knew when she saw the black cat, something bad will happen. I was surprised that she like Fully apparently never believed in superstitions.

Servando thought Fully would spare his life only to find out in the end that Fully is someone you never want to cross thus taking a tumble over the cliffs ala Gris along with Eloisa's and Fed's remains.

Loved Noel and Mariela admitting their feelings for each other. I'm glad both will find true love with each other. They both deserve it.

Looking forward to tonight's show. I hope this separation between Juan and Regina doesn't last until the grand finale.

Yes, in novelaland, characters ignore superstition at their peril...

Thank you Jeri, I haven't watch the episode yet, but I can see as predicted Juan just doesn't listen to reason and Reggie doesn't help. Why can't she tell him? Well maybe because then the TN would end sooner. But it is frustrating to see how people go around in circles about something that could be solve in no time. Leo and Orca dancing the dance it might nauseating. Maybe Rod would join the party.

Jeri thanks so much for the great recap! It was obvious you enjoyed the Noel/Mariela scene from your writing. What a wonderful moment.

I can't believe Eloise was that dumb. Did she forget Fed's horrifying death? Well Fully's next as he has killed way too many people to survive the TN.

Juan/Reggie - Sigh & it's been said.

I'm hoping the pie cart for the finca crew is rolling down the hill tonight.

I certainly understand that Juan is a man full of insecurities - his past greatly affecting his present and possibly his future. But does he have to be dumb as a block all the time? What more can Regina do to show how much she loves him? Does he honestly think she would have given herself to him so completely if she didn't love him? Talk about a man who can't put two and two together - that's Juan. Gee Louise, most times I say that men think with their lower half as opposed to the top half. For once, I'd like Juan to do that with Regina. He's over analyzing everything and looking for demons behind every bush. Get real, man, she loves you! She's having your baby and she can't even tell you because of all your accusation! The saddest part of last night was Regina admitting that she most likely will have to raise her child alone because of Juan's trust issues.

Jeri, what an eventful, emotional episode and your recap, again, reads like a novel,. I loved your description of Arcadio's appearance...his huge, leonine head peers back at her in the flashing light. To anyone but Leo, this sight would be a nightmare.

It is such a pleasure to watch all these veteran actors giving us such powerful performances. And the younger actors are showing their great talent as well. It's been worth staying up late for this experience.

How will Fully meet his end and who will be responsible for it? You'd think all those bodies stacking up at the bottom of the cliff might be a clue. Doc Miranda is running with pistol in hand in the promos. Wonder who he is chasing? Maybe Rod, though I doubt it. So there is much to be resolved along with Juan and Regina's frustratingly idiotic separation.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for more E Y in LVO.

GinCA

Thank You Jeri! Your recaps are always terrific!

Noel and Mariela were so sweet. The chemistry between those two is so strong it just lights up the screen.

I could not believe Eloisa opened that safe. Especially after witnessing what happened to Fed... and after a black cat walked into the room. There's dumb and there's just plain stupid. I guess we know which one Eloisa was.

I never understood why Servando didn't fight back any time he was confronted by Fully. He seemed to be younger and stronger but I guess he was just scared of Fulgencio.

Aribeth, I agree. Juan never remembers what he's just figured out. He said Aimless wouldn't separate him from Regina, but she sure did. Juan is spinning his wheels in perpetual stupid. Someone needs to hit him HARD with a get-a-clue stick.

In this whole TN I don't recall Rod ever knocking on Leo's door. He chooses to do it NOW when he figures she's alone at the Finca?? I was really hoping he'd walk on in, see Leo and Orca making the beast with two backs and finally have The Big One.

Barbara:

:)) You hit the nail on the head, and I agree with you. He shouldn't overuse the last cells that remained in his brain after sniffing Aimee's venenous perfume so many times. Just use his corazon salvaje and everything will be fine. :)

- Fed's death. He won't be missed.
- The endless crying over Aimee's dead body.

I haven't seen this one yet. However, I do have an observation to make: Juan's gene pool is showing - after all, he is also a Montes de Oca. And the same with Regina...SNAP OUT OF IT!

Jeri, thanks for a wonderful recap. The description of Noel and Mariela's scene was just wonderful, including the blazing black eyes.

Wowza! Arcadio's back and he won't be denied. Given Leo's tendency to whine and wring her hands while waiting for others to act, I'm not surprised that she crumbles for him.

"...it's not her silence,...it's his stupidity!" Great line, worthy of a place on the sidebar. There was a scene with a pensive Regina where she looked absolutely beautiful. Juan looked...puzzled.

Fulgencio again proves that age and experience triumph in the end. Eloisa should have used a long stick to open the safe door, while she stood off to the side. Glad to see Servendo and his scar-art go bye-bye. I liked Fully's pragmatic farewell to the evil gypsy: "Perhaps we'll see each other in hell."
La Paloma

Thanks, Jeri~~~First, I was hoping we would not have to witness anymore bunnyhopping between Leo and Arcadio. Such a bizarre coupling. As for Juan's doubts, there is a valid reason....the novela still has one more week to run. I'm going to miss those shoulders inside those pirate shirts. Que lastima. Regarding Eloise, I guess the expression ''Live and learn'' does not apply to her...dumb bunny. Didn't you see what happened to Fed when he opened that safe ? Now, how will Fully meet his end ? I thought that he might lose his footing as he admired his work at the bottom of the cliff and join his victims. That would have been poetic justice, no ????

The big difference now for Arcadio is that he's bunny hopping above stairs.

Quite a promotion, and I can't wait to see how Leonarda screws up her last chance.

He told her in prophetic words that he'd do everything for her "...as long as she remained faithful, of course."

Oh, yeah; I wanted to emphasize the little scene where Leonarda said she would never let anybody lock her up.

I think that could prove noteworthy; what she does to avoid going to prison.

How can Renato put through the annulment papers when Juan has them?

Anon 5:06, Juan doesn't have the actual annulment papers with Regina's forged signature. If I recall correctly, Aimee sent a letter stating that Regina is planning on annuling the marriage and that is why Juan is bent out of shape about it.

Caray family, so much has happened!

First, thanks Jeri for a recap as good or better than the actual episode! Your descriptions are fantastic- Noel with Mariela, Arcadio, as everyone has mentioned: "The huge, leonine head of Arcadio peers back at her in the flashing light," etc.

I LOVED Noel and Mariela's coming to the understanding that they dig each other and can have a great future together- YAY!!!!

And yes, mi Noel: "as his black eyes blaze at her from under his top hat." He is yummy, yummy, yummy!!

Reggie and Juan- ooooh how frustrating! I was glad she slapped him for that comment about now that Aimee's dead- what a jerk!

Aribeth, Ivy, Pirate Babe, Xintperuvian, you guys are soo funny! Your snark is just great! I love watching the show at night and then reading the recap and everyone's comments here the following morning :)

I can't believe we have eight episodes left :( I will be glued to my tv every weeknight until it's over :)

Marisol

Jeri, you have done it again.what a wonderful recap. My hat also goes out to Kat for yesterday's recap. Superb!!! Just stopping by for a second.A house full of out of town guests.End of summer stress.
Anyho....
I think Regina is suffering from the sin of omission, and Jaun from insecurity. Why can't they just have an honest conversation about the day's issues like most married people?
Thanks again to Jeri and Kat, got to go.

I thought Juan had the papers with Regina's signature on them. If he is carrying on like this based on a note from Aimee who was a known liar, he deserves to be slapped upside the head and be alone. Even if Regina HAD signed some annulment papers stating the marriage hadn't been consummated, obviously she changed her mind since Congress has been in session numerous times. I can't feel sorry for Juan here, because he would rather believe a woman who's lied over and over to him rather than believe his wife, who stuck up for him when he was on trial and who was by his side during the death of his mother.

The only defense Juan has is in the last scene, where he gives his true reason for relentlessly needling Regina about a yes or no answer.

Juan needs to know for sure, because he intends to let her do what would make her happy.

If she really did start the annulment and wants to be free, he won't keep her -- as much as it would break his heart, Juan says.

But then, Jeri, that's a contradictory statement by Juan. He told good ole dead Aimee that he would allow nothing to separate him and Regina. Somewhere his brain synapses are not firing on all cylinders. Geez man, grab your wife, kiss her a few times, and then shut up long enough to listen to her. And Regina, for goodness sakes, speak up. A man doesn't know what woman is feeling by reading her mind - that's impossible. She has to tell him and Juan, right now, is about as dopey as man gets, so put him and us out of our misery!

To be fair, letting nothing separate them would not include her wishes.

He wouldn't go against her wishes; he loves her and would want her to be happy if that's what she wanted.

Juan just wants to be sure Regina is leveling with him; and she views it as doubt.

I think Juan really wants to trust Regina but so far she has a habit of not telling Juan exactly what's going on.

For example, the letter she wrote Clemencia. When Juan asked, she refused to tell him who she sent to letter to resulting in him wondering if she sent it to Renato.

Then, when Juan confronted her about hugging Renato in town, once again she wouldn't tell him the reason why she wanted to speak to Noel and said it was private. She also didn't tell him about Aimee's visit to the love shack so that he could know that Renato was up to something.

Now with Aimee's letter, once again Regina will not give him a definitive answer. I can see why Juan is so frustrated because Regina keeps keeping him at a distance when all she has to do is speak up. IMO she has become so use to keeping things close to her chest and not telling anyone when she should confide in her husband.

In the end,Both Juan and Regina need to learn how to better communicate with each other and that would resolve the trust issues between them.

Good for you, Pirate Babe. You should go into TN marital couseling because, beleive me, there's enough screwed up marriages on these things!

Thanks so much for the superb recap Jeri. I'm late to the party, but I actually did stay up last night and saw the show. I would have slapped Juan a few more times if I was Reggie. I actually think she did a fine job of denying that she had done such a thing. What part of you are insulting me by asking this question, you know you are the love of my life, what more can I do to prove my love to you, etc., is so hard to understand. Reggie might keep some things close to the vest to protect other people, but she would never doubt Juan's honor or his love for her. When he went off to the poker game without telling her where he was going or why, and then waited some time to tell her what went down there, she trusted him. In fact Remi told her to just trust him when she asked where he went, and gues what? She did. No questions asked. And he never fessed up to her about Aimee's visit to his prison and her stolen kiss. Yet Reggie never asked about it again or doubted him once she became certain of his love during the trial. He owes her the same trust.

I hung on every word of the program and every word of the recap. Both were great.

I will never understand why everyone believes everything that anyone tells them no matter how many times they all lie to each other.

Arcadio has been disgusting to me in the past but I have to admit when I saw his big old head and scary boots that my heart stuttered for a moment.

And even though I knew what was going to happen with the safe blast I couldn't stand to watch. Amazing how perfectly accurate those shots were. I also thought that he would hoist himself on his own petard and throw himself over the cliff. Its got to be getting pretty piled up down there.

Can't wait for tonight. Who will be the next to go?

You have made valid points Vivi. Juan should trust Regina and stop doubting her love for him when she hasn't confronted him about the kiss she saw between him and Aimee which made her doubt his love for her for a time. LOL the acting is good for us all to be this frustrated with our lovebirds.

I'm looking forward to tonight's ep, too!

Yeah, the first thing I said was that Juan and Regina are freakin' annoying me; I'm just playing devil's advocate at this point.

Trying to give people a reason not to have smoke coming out their ears. Pirate Babe, I think those are good points.

Thanks for the great comments and kind words; you all say sweet things.

Jeri, let me add my thanks and admiration for your wonderful writing skills on this delicious recap.
So here are my votes on various themes:
Eloisa had nothing but empty beauty in the asset department so deserved to die by her own stupidity and avarice. Fulgencio already knows his fate as he makes dates to meet up in hell for all his murders but he did give all these buggers a chance to be noble while they all chose to double cross him. Lion mane returning, oh yes, ancients lusting, oh my! My opinion is that Leonarda is not deserving but that woman gets more hot nooky than anyone else in tn except Rod.

Noel and Mariela are too warm and loving for words. I am so happy at least one theme line is coming out so sweetly. Nice job on spotting the smouldering eyes beneath the top hat, Jeri. I second the motion.

Oh Juan, oh Juan, blockhead of blockheads. I too fervently hope that they don't irritate us all half to death until next Friday with only one night of reconciliation before the wedding or weddings to end this delightful telenovela. It would be more noble if they can work it out before he finds out about el bambino so the little nipper isn't holding so much power and later guilt.

I hate that I'm late to the party today, particularly with it being one of Jeri's ever-poetic recaps! I got pulled for unexpected helper duty at the barn this morning and was a puddle of sore, overheated finca worker by the time I got home.

-giggles like a madwoman and points at Arcadio- That's the thing I saw on the previews that had me so a-flutter - as soon as they showed Leo having a nervous breakdown in the night, I knew it had to be him even before he came into view! (And everyone asking yesterday, "So where's Arcadio, you think Arcadio'll put in an appearance?" and me not being able to say anything was just killing me, I tell you!)

And how creepy was his putting the smooth moves on Leo - and her willingly accepting them? Ew!

Boy, that well-thrown hand of Regina's felt good, didn't it? Talk about living vicariously! Is it too much to hope that she might be the one who's able to finally get through to him where no one else has? (Probably, huh.) The image of them each on one side of the wall reminds me of their time on the ship, when he couldn't get up the courage to go into the room and she couldn't get it to come out - only a much sadder reflection. I hate to see them that way. It's hard to blame her (completely) for her reaction, though - I expect mine would have been a, "How could you even think that?!", too (though I probably would have started screaming, "No! No! No!" and whapping him on the nose with the anullment papers after that just to get the point through, because I'm like that).

So Rod doesn't want to stay at the townhouse because he's worried about Noel dropping by - What could possibly possess him to think that going to the finca, that Renato has lost to Juan and they're being forced out of, is a better idea? Be a sweet bit of justice for him to walk in on Leo and the Orca, though, wouldn't it?

I had to laugh at that black cat walking in Eloisa, because Leonarda's superstitions were the first thing I thought of, too. Her ultimate fate was another thing that got flashed on the previews, and that was kind of a disappointment - It was like, "Well, no mystery to look forward to there, huh?" I can't believe that it didn't occur to her that Fully might have trapped the other safes, too, after seeing the same thing happen to Fed. (And I've been meaning to mention this for a few days, now - Who came up with that monstrosity Elo was wearing? It's like a Lisa Frank painting threw up on her!)

Anyone else up for a dance on Servando's ignominious grave? One has to wonder about that pile of bodies, though - particularly with two of them so nicely wrapped up? Let's face it, these cliffs don't keep anything from coming to light. I almost don't want Fully to get his pie cart - he's just so good at being bad!

Very good news that Noel's started divorce proceedings, and to see things coming together for him and Mariela. I wish a dashing gentleman in a top hat would look at me me like that from under its brim!

very good recap/ Elho is dumb because did she not see Fed get shot in the head when he opened the safe? I am glad she is gone because being that dumb is a waste of time.I think the smell of the corpses is going to be strong and that cliff should be called cliff of the dead stupid people haha.
