Episode #134 08/27/2010 134 down and 1 to go Ren is dead and still no comeupance for the bad guys.

Ok here we are in the final stretch of this inconsistent roller coaster called Corazon Salvaje. I would like to thank all the recapers and commenter s who dedicated the time to this master piece. Thank you for giving me the opportunity of doing this with all of you. My special thanks to Jeri for all her help and patience and Connie for taking the time to make the beautiful ornaments. Once again muchas gracias

Ren and Arca are fighting and we all know how that ends. I'm sure Reggie is now thinking why didn't I stay resting as the Dr wanted me to

At the triple's weeding party Noel feels a stab in his heart. Mari asks him what is wrong. Noel says I don't know I just feel a pain in my heart. Mari says maybe it was because you were dancing. Yes, Mari it seems that probably you've never dance. When you dance your feet or your back hurts not your hart.

At the catacombs Juan finally breaks lose. The roof starts to collapse. Juan takes the shackles off his hands and feet and leaves.

Arca once more escapes. Arca flights on Ren's horse. Ren ask. Reggie is asking him to conserve his strength, but Ren knows this is the end and he's not afraid. Reggie wants to help him get up. Good luck there Reggie. I don't think you can even lift one of his arms. He tells he only has the strength to talk to her. He says how cruel and unjust he was to annul their marriage. s Reggie for her forgiveness for all the stupid things he did that hurt her. Ren tells he doesn't know for sure Juan is dead because he didn't see him drown. He said Juan might be alive. If Juan is alive please be happy with him. Reggie asks Ren to conserve his strength, but I think he is a goner.

Juan is running with no shoes. He goes in the river to cross it; he falls

Arca is at Leo's. Leo asks him why is he there? she is afraid Ren might come in at any moment and see him. Araca says don't worry he won't be coming. Arca tells her they have to get the hell out of doge because the Sheriff has the finca under surveillance. Leo says it might be Breton. He's onto us. They decide tonight is the night. Arca leaves and Leo goes to pack.

Juan has crossed the river and continues running.

Reggie is still crying and asking Ren to help her help him. I thought he was a goner. But he is not. He opens his eyes and tells Reggie he'll love her for eternity. Now I think he's gone. Nope, no yet. Reggie continues with her crying fest.Ren says he's getting cold. Reggie covers him with her head piece. Ren wishes he can go back in time, they would've been happy. Reggie tells him not to think anymore in what ifs. Ren tells her how grateful he is she loved him once again he asks for her forgiveness. Reggie is telling him he's going to get better. At that moment we hear Juan calling Reggie. He runs to her asks her what happened. Reggie informs him Arca attach Ren and he's dying. Juan tries to help him up, but Ren says don't bother, I'm dying. Juan says don't say that. Ren says I'm happy you are here because I want to ask for your forgiveness also. Juan not you forgive me for causing you so much pain. Ren says I'm about to die and I hope you are OK with Reggie having me in her arms. Juan says you are not going to die. Ren says I always dreamed to be in your arms Reggie, but I never thought it was going to be in this circumstances. Ren says to Juan Reggie is yours all yours. Juan says this is not what I wanted it was not a matter of winning or losing. Juan tries again to help Ren. But Ren refuses saying his life is slipping away and he wants to die there with them two. Ren says he know he was a fool by trying to separate them. Again he asks for Reggie's forgiveness. At last he recognizes Juan is his cousin. Ren gives them his blessing and asks them to promise him they are going to be happy. He asks god to take his soul. Ok enough die already! I think he did because his head went limp.

Arca is a Rod's digs telling him that Leo wants to move their departure closer. Arca asks Rod for his payment. I'll love to see Rod's face when he realizes hi money is gone. Anyways Rod tells Arca OK I'll pay you but first things first. We have to get rid of the bastard. I'll also love to see his face when he realizes the bastard is gone. It seem Rod is losing everything. Rod tells Arca to go ahead because he doesn't want to be seen with Arca in town. Arca says fine but remember Leo can arrive there at any moment. Rod to himself "aah Leo what a big surprise I have in store for you.

Back to Juan, Reggie, and Ren. Juan and Reggie are trying to wake him. Reggie is crying. Gawd that woman can cry. Juan tells her to settle down because Ren is dead. Juan is asking Ren for forgiveness and blaming himself of Ren's downfall. More crying.

Uh oh, Arca is at he catacombs calling out Juan's name. He is very surprised to see Juan is not longer captive. He then says he couldn't care less. He's going to get ready to leave. Rod walks in and when he realizes Juan is not there. He pulls his gun out and asks Arca where is Juan. He thinks Arca betrayed him. Arca says I don't know things where this way when I got here. But, I can't understand how he broke the beam. Rod says now I won't be able to punish el maldito bastardo. Arca asks for his money. Rod says I didn't bring it. I'll bring ti later. Arca says remember Leo would be here at any moment. Rod is very pensive.

Doctor Pablo arrives at the scene of the crime. Reggie is asking Pablo to look at Ren and tell them that Ren is fine. Pablo tells them he's dead. As if we didn't know that already. Reggie says, my godfather needs to know this. Juan says I'll tell him. Pablo tells Juan to stay with Reggie and Pablo goes to tell Noel.

Reggie asks Juan what happened to him Juan says don't worry about me. How are you and the baby. Reggie says she is fine. Then she starts to talk to Ren's corpse.

BAck at the party, the three couple are dancing and everyone is happy. Not for long though. Jacinta is dancing with Colibri, Pedro, Eusebio, a lot of vivan los novios and applause ensue. Pablo arrives with the bad news. He tells Noel and they leave without telling anybody.

Rod is back home. Man, that man is really fast. He goes from one place to another at the speed of light. He's thinking to himself how expensive Arca's help would be. But the price would be worth. I want to fulfill my vengeance on Leo for the mistreatment she gave MRD for all those years. Rod is walking towards the safe. He's about to find out he's penniless. He opens the safe and finds nothing. He calls the servant and asks him who came to the house and enter his bedroom. She tells him la senora Leonarda.

Leo is arriving at the catacombs with the bag full of money. She can't hardly lift it. Arca comes in asks her if she needs his help. She says no. Arca says at this stage of the game you still don't trust me? He wants to put the money in a secure place. Arca wants her to go in the room where MDR and then Juan were. Leo says she doesn't want to because she is afraid of that place. Arca puts her in the room and then leaves and closes the door. He tells her if someone ever comes here just tell them I kidnapped you. She begs him to let her out, but he takes off probably with the bag of money.

The party is still on. Phillipe is dancing with one of the entertainers. I guess is supposed to be funny, his wig falls off and every time he tries to pick it up the dancer steps on it. big deal.

Arca is giving himslef pats on the back. He is a genious. He opesn the with the loo. He's ready to leave, but before he's going to leave a note for someone to punish the MDO. He puts the bag on the loo in a coffre and leaves.

Noel arrives at the scene where Ren is. Juan and Reggie are still crying. Poor Noel, he is crying and telling his son that his departure leaves him in the deepest abyss. There's nothing left for a parent when a child dies. There's nothing more for me to fight for, there's no future for me anymore. He's asking Ren why he abandon him why? a lot of porques... I wan to die to be always with you. Juan and Reggie are trying to comfort him. He wants to die with his son. Juan and Reggie tell him how much they need him. Noel thinks he was a failure as a father because he couln't change Ren's mind. More perdonames...

Mari is looking for Neol. Her mother is telling her to calm down maybe Noel went to take a leak. Mari says no he wouldn't da that without telling. Of course they didn't say that. They say probably something came up and he had to leave. Mari says if that was the case he would've not leave without telling me. Don Alberto says your mother is right, you'll see he'll be back in no time. Mari says you are right. I won't spoil on of the best days of my life. then she goes to interrupt the newlyweds that for a change are kissing, to tell wish them a lot of happiness and give them her blessing. Now that I think of it their weeding anniversary an the anniversary of Ren's dead are going to be the same.

Noel is at home commiserating and saying that Ren was his only reason fro living. Rod walks in and gives Noel his condolences. Rod put his hand on Noels shoulder but Noel pulls away. Ros tells Noel how sorry he is about Ren's demise. Rod tells Noel he understand perfectly because they both have lose a child and this is not time to harboring rancor. Rod wants to give Noel a hug. Noel tells Rod, you are right this is no the time to harbor rancor, but is not the time for hypocrisies either. Rod says I know you are hurt I won't take your words to hart. Rod is leaving but before he does, he turn around and ask Noel where Leo is. Noel says Leo, Leo I hope god forgives her. I don't know. Only god know where she is. The only thing I know is that she should be here accompanying her only child in his dead bed.

Arca is at the finca leaving that letter he wrote on top of one of the covered furniture. He just hopes Rod comes back soon because he has to leave soon before is found out that he killed el senorito Renato.

Rod is still talking about how estrange Leo's absence is in this terrible situation. She should be here, we all know how much she loved her son, unless... Then Rod feing he had a second thought and says no I don't think Leo would have that much fear to leave like that. Noel asks fear, fear of what? Explain yourself. Rod says well as you know Arca is back and you know how unconditional he was to her. Maybe Leo she escaped with him. Noel asks and why would she do that. Rod says because Captain Breton suspects Leo killed Brigitte. Noel says Leo an assassin? I don't want to believe it but evidences condemn her. Yes it might be possible Clem told me that terrible secret. Leo poisoned Constanza, Reggie and Aimee's mother, your wife Rod, your wife. Rod is very surprised at the news

Juan and Reggie are back home, hugging and crying. Reggie says she's going to change her clothes to go and be with Noel, because he needs her now. Juan says alright you do that. He says I'll go with you, but I don't want to cause any trouble, your aunt Leo might get upset with my presence. Reggie says you are right. you better go and meet Pedro and co. Today was the weeding of all our friends and the best wedding present is going to be seeing you alive. He says OK they I have to take a bath and change my clothes because I can't just make my appearance looking like this. Any volunteer to scrub his back? I'll take one for the team and it. Reggie tells him how happy she is because he is back, even under the circumstances, I'm very happy. Her lips are saying something but her face is saying something else. She tells him how much she loves him and thanks God for bringing him back. They hug again. Just a thought, since they both have to take a bath why don't they do it together to save some time, I'll do it in a heart beat. Heck they have until Monday night because the episode ended.

A little disappointed, they are going to jam pack the demise of all the bad cats and the happily ever after in one episode. They had 135 episodes to do that and they decided to do it in the last 40 minutes. One last thing... Where the hell is De Marin?

Comments:
I've actually never been as sad for a villain's demise as I was with Renato. It is sad, but Renato was never happy in his brief life. He didn't have a happy home life and Leo kept him away from the peasant children at the finca. She kept him away from town and he didn't have any friends. That's why he glommed onto Juan, because he would finally have a friend, but Leo shut that down, too.

Then the girls came and he saw Aimee's milkshakes and got happy but Aimee never loved him and that made him unhappy.

Juan came back and Renato thought he'd finally have a friend but that wasn't going to happen and Renato's last chance at happiness was Regina because she was the one person his age who actually liked him.

Orca is a greedy idiot. He has Leonarda's big bag of jewels and money, why is he waiting around for Rod's payment?

Leonarda is a stupid idiot because she had Rod's bag of jewels and money. She should have just left. Why does she need Orca's assistance to leave? She was already in town, just hop on the next ship and go.

And why be a big dummy and go into the cell?

At least Renato died repenting for all that he did wrong. He saved Regina from arcadio and in his concern for her well being, got careless and turned his back on Arcadio who had a shank hidden in his boot. It was a good thing Juan was able to reach him while he was still alive for his 'deathbed confession'. Renato was not a total villain. He was good, got misguided in the middle and found his way back but alas too late.... Such is life.

Multiple deaths in a very short period of time. Oh what a tragic and cursed family.

Thank you so much, Sue! I haven't watched this ep yet, and we are going to be out of town on relatives business this weekend; so not sure when I will get to watch it.

But it's looking big! I would like to thank you for the dedication you've shown to CS and the blog and for the hilarious recaps you always bring! Thanks!

Sue, thanks so much for the recap. I will miss coffee and reading with you all each morning. I have likened Caray Caray to a book club and have loved everyone's take on the story. You all have been generous with your time and talents, thanks so much recappers and commentors. Will miss everyone's style and points of view. And our mutual appreciation/swooning over pirates, EY and Rene.

I agree with you on the writing,

"A little disappointed, they are going to jam pack the demise of all the bad cats and the happily ever after in one episode. They had 135 episodes to do that and they decided to do it in the last 40 minutes."

Am disappointed that Juan and Regina's reunion was while Renato was dying and not a blissful happy moment leading to blissful happy loving.

With only one episode to go, much will be left to our imagination, I am afraid.

Unless... Jeri decides to expound in her beautiful verse what she imagines will become of our many lovers. Love your style Jeri and know I would need to borrow one of Aimee's fans reading your interpretation! ;)

Thanks again Sue!

Cheers!

Bernadette

Thanks you so much Sue for a great recap. I was so hoping that Leo, Rod or Arcadio would get a long slow painful death last night. But alas it was a long, slow death for Renato. I can't believe it took the whole show for him to die. I did not want him to die. I wanted him redeemed and straightened up but not dead.

So they spend all this time killing off people that could have been redeemed (Aimee and Renato) and one that had a horrible life and should have lived (Maria del Rosario).

I don't think the bad guys Leo, Rod, Arcadio and lets not forget Fully, are going to get what they really deserve in 40 minutes. And what about our lovers. When will there be time for them?

I have really enjoyed this show. I hope the final hour doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to Monday night.

Sue, it was Jody that made the ornaments for us. Big thank you to her.

Thanks for your recap Sue and for staying with us to the time change. I too was disappointed we didn't have more resolution and since there is only one episode left, I'm not holding my breathe.

I do think b/c of Ren's death that if/when they show us Noel marrying Mariela some time will have elapsed and then we can see Juan & Regina's hijo also (just a guess).

Connie - thanks for your two great recap yesterday. Though this TN is ending, we have your snark with us for STuD.

Connie, thanks for last nights recap. It was sad seeing Renato die, but at least he asked for forgiveness fron Juan and Regina, and wanted to see them reunited. I do feel disappointed that the main evil people(Rodrigo, Leo, and Arcadia) will be getting their just desserts on the last episode that I wished was dedicated to seeing Juan and Regina reunited. Thanks again to Jody for ornaments and all recappers who took time out of their schedule to help followers of CS. I don't know about anyone else but I definately felt screwed by univision for switch of CS to late late night. If I hadn't found your'e website I probably would of had second thoughts to staying with univision. I first caught EY in Destinaldo Amor, that was the first telenovela I ever saw and I was hooked. Let's hope univision considers all the fans, and not just the bottom line when airing their telenovelas. I can't wait to see last episode of CS!

Thank you all.

This crazy ride was good while it lasted. Sorry for the name confusion about the ornaments. It was late at night and I got the names mixed up. Then this morning I had to go out early and while I was doing my errands I thought bout it. Jody Thank you so much. Sorry again for the mix up.

Thank you Sue for another snark filled hysterical recap. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. I also want to thank you for stepping in and taking over the recap duties when Sarah was no longer able to. On top of that, I would also like to thank Jardinera who originally recapped for the Friday shows before the midnight move. Thanks to you all.

On to the show. I was sad to see Renato die. I thought he would live and see the error of his ways and make amends. Instead, he died a martyr saving Regina's life. I was glad Renato did apologize for interfering in Juan and Regina's relationship. Such a tragic turn of events. Poor Noel. I shed a tear when he broke down at Renato's side. What a painful scene in contrast to the happiness at the wedding reception.

Meanwhile, Leo is seeing how MdR felt being locked up in the dungeon. What surprise does Rod have in store for her? Will Orca finally be caught? I want to see some comeuppance.

Juan channeled his inner Samson when he brought the beam down and escaped from his imprisonment. Some of us noted that Juan seemed to lose his salvaje mojo when he chopped off his long locks. He got it back to get to Regina.

Well Monday is the final show and what a wild ride it has been thus far. I have really enjoyed commenting and snarking with you all and I will miss the community we've formed here. Thanks to the recappers who continued to recap and the commenters who commented. I have really enjoyed myself. See you all at the grand finale.

I, too, wish there had been more resolution last night than just Renato dying. The sad part is that it took him dying to realize the mistakes he had made. There is no way they can do justice to this story with just 1 episode left, especially because we all want to see Juan and Regina making love again. Don't suppose they will since they believe their marriage is annulled, even if by forgery. I liked the ending to Mi Pecado very much since it showed the happy couple with their child. I suppose we won't get that in CS, more's the pity. Jody, I wish I had ordered one of the CS ornaments now. Don't suppose you have any left. I am looking forward to whatever EY is in again and will record La Verdad Oculta. He is a versatile actor. I just don't think the TNs allow him to act through his range. I'm glad he's done things other than TNs that offer him the opportunity to stretch himself as an actor. Pretty sure I'll never forget this role as the Columbian interrogator on CSI Miami. Chilling beyond belief. Hard to imagine this is our muy guapo galan. Loved sharing comments with everyone. Not finding STud that involving and am getting ticked off at Llena de Amor for how Mari is being treated. But hope to catch up with everyone on the other show blogs. It's been downright snarky fun!!!!!!!!!

How much you wanna bet Juan and Regina's hijo will be named "Renato?"

Renato could have been redeemed, but I don't think Aimee could have been redeemed. From the very first moment we saw that little girl in the bad red wig, Aimee was spoiled and nasty. She didn't care about anyone except herself, not even her father. Aimee was a sociopath (as is Rodrigo) and she needed to be stopped.

Thanks, Sue, enjoyed your recap mucho mucho.
Our Juan is so strong and heroic, pulling down the ceiling and swimming the river to arrive in time for Renato's tragic end.
We knew Regina would bring the tears and moans; I didn't know Noel would bring such drama. Hated to hear him say he had nothing to live for and wanted to die along with Ren. What about Mariela and other friends? It's true that a child dying before a parent is very sad.
Also true that we have so little time left for the final reunions and retributions. And yes, I go along with naming the hijo Renato.
La Paloma

Thanks, Sue. I felt sure that Juan would be successful in freeing himself if he kept pulling himself up on his chains. We were both successful in that regard. Watching Juan was enjoyable. I can't believe that Hub actually gave up watching the Phillies game last night to watch CS. He loves and supports and agonizes over the Phillies. He was trying to give Reggie advice-- ''Stop crying and run for help.'' When that didn't get Reggie's attention , he kept saying ''How long will it take for that guy [Renato] to die and how can he keeping talking ?'' He completely gave up when Noel came on the scene and was keening over Renato . Hub just stared at the screen . Wow, there is so much to wrap up in only one more episode. I fear that most of the remaining time will be spent sending Leo, Rod, Arcadio, and Fully off to their separate hells. Anonymous , that was an honest synopsis of these characters and their flaws. I'll be sad when CS is over. I'll miss this crazy cast of characters and all the recappers and commentors. How many of you plan to watch Big Ed in La Verdad Occulta at the midnight hour ? Does it start next Tuesday ? Word identification : ''cation'' ...as in ''Boohoo...It's the end of summer 'cation.''

Muchisimas gracias, Sue! :) You literally saved our ass after that Sarah had to stop writing recaps and we all loved your summaries, too.

Lynda:
I did not want him to die. I wanted him redeemed and straightened up but not dead.

Neither did I. I was completely sure that he was meant to survive the stabbing and going to Europe. I never looked at him as an obnoxious character. He had deeeeeeeeeep flaws but I could never forget the lovely boy he was at the beginning. He should've survive the show.
However, when he was dying for 40 minutes I was like "Just die already!!!":)

Mad Bess:
How many of you plan to watch Big Ed in La Verdad Occulta at the midnight hour ? Does it start next Tuesday ?

I definitely want to follow that show. Hopefully the administrators of TN-World will create an LVO forum in this century...

Thank you Sue! You brought a lot of much-needed snark to this semi-final. You're right, where the hell is Marin? And where the hell is Clemencia?? She wasn't even at the weddings.

Does anybody else have the feeling that CS was supposed to be 150 episodes long, but the powers-that-be came in and said "wrap it up" now? As soon as Juan and Renato plunged off the cliff, so did the writing. Every single storyline feels cut off. This show needed another week or two to really wrap up right. Instead of happy couples loving each other we get the longest death scene in TN history. Sorry Renato, I liked you for the most part, but die already...

My hubby was watching last night and said it took dumb-ass Gabe months to figure out Jimena and Estrella were the same person but Juan and Regina get the last 15 minutes.

I really liked this TN, it had sooo much potential. Too bad the writers and producers didn't allow it to be all it could have been.

many thanks to all the recappers and commentors.

Kudos to the talented cast.Christian ahowed great versatility morphing from the sweet, honorable Renato into a diabolical nut-case, and back again. In Plain Sight was never the same without him. Nobody could cry better than Regina or lie, chew a fan, or pull braids like Aimee. The actrees who portrayed them should receive an award from every country that aired the show, as well as the actor who played Noel.

The opinion that the head office ordered CS to be cut shorter than the original script calls for sure makes sense to me. It was probably at some point when the production crew was staring at a deadline and had to transition as best they could. There are so many "huh?" moments in this run. The loose ends are numerous enough to weave a rug. For example, what about Ful's gun running? Is Rosenda STILL having that poor baby? Why all that bit about Reg's talent as a photographer in the beginning? We had hours of Jim and Gabe making kissy face but Juan and Regina have spent most of their time together crying. I could go on. I don't expect TNs to make sense in any real world context but this one didn't have much in the way of internal logic. Oh well, I still love these costume dramas and I'll live for the next one.

On another subject, the actress playing Leo has done a fabulous job. She took the part of a villain that could have been played for nothing but melodrama and made a fascinating, many-sided (if evil) character of her. It's been a real pleasure watching her work.

Thank you to all the recappers for their work. It has been a huge help while traveling this summer to be able to keep up. Your dedication is amazing.

Hasta la proxima TN,

Abuelita Clara

I felt a tad bipolar like a MdO last night watching Ren's last words which were actually enough to fill a mini-novela. I was crying for poor Ren but chuckling at how long it was actually taking him to fade away. He was redeemed before his death but in a way I thought he might die because he was ready to kill Juan during the duel whereas Juan spared his life and tried to save Ren in the end. What a sad short life and Anon your synopsis of his lonely upbringing was touching. I'm almost tearing up thinking about it.

Arcadio and Fully deserve very painful deaths since they caused such violence to so many people. Leo and Rod need to be in a cell together for eternity where they can revisit the crimes they committed on each other.

Noel has gone very dramatic in the last few episodes and that hair needs taming. But I think Rene C. is a terrific actor and have enjoyed him so much in this novela.

Yes, good idea about seeing Juan and Regina and their baby. I would love to see a happily ever after reunion as in Destilando Amor where we are able to see all the couples with their children and Noel and Mariela married. And yes, where are Clem and Marin?

Thanks to the recappers and commenters for all the fun.

I agree that there are many things left up in the air that probably won't be resolved in the grand finale. My biggest gripe is that we didn't get enough Juan and Regina who are the protagonists and plenty of Gabe and Jimena who were only supporting characters. I fell in love with Juan and Regina from the very beginning and wish they had more screen time. I too wondered what happened to De Marin and Clemencia. I think Renato beat MdR in the longest death scene but it was still heartwrenching just the same.

"How many of you plan to watch Big Ed in La Verdad Occulta at the midnight hour?" I plan on watching this when it starts Mad Bess. Uni has helped me become an insomniac because of having to stay up late to watch CS. I don't mind losing sleep to see more EY.

Renato took so long dying. I think he could have survived I thought the doctor was looking for Regina but it took him like an hour to find her. I do not think she was that far from the Doc's house when she was assaulted by Orca. I also do not understand why she did not run to get the Doctor. OK let us say Juan was all the way to the finca and then Regi and Renato were in the city how did Juan get there before the Doctor? If he is so strong, why he not pick up Renato and take him to the Doc? I also wish that Juan and Regi had more scenes because it is excessively short how many minutes they were on screen. I am thankful for all the recaps. I hope we have recaps for the other novella at this time. I think that Jimena and Gabriel stole all the scenes that were for Juan and Regina. Still CS is a great novella.

I'm with you people that CS was meant to be longer. There's so much that needs to be resolved that 1 episode cannot do it justice. I, too, plan to watch La Verdad Oculta. And I agree that Juan and Regina should have had more screen time together - romantic screen time. Think of the couple in Sortilegio and how much screen time they had. Juan and Regina were attracted to each other from the beginning. He just allowed lust to interfere. It's interesting that he told Remi that he had to restrain himself in order to win Regina. Methinks he wanted to jump her bones long before it happened, but chose to be the gentleman and wait until she was ready. It would be nice to see them actually be married, have children, do the things that married couples do, but alas TNs do not give you everything you want. Univision did a great disservice to this show by moving it to the midnight time slot. I think that La Verdad Oculta should be at 10 pm, but we know that won't happen. Thankful for DVD recording. So, here's on to the finale that I don't believe will be as satisfying as we want.

The original end date of CS was April 19. Then for a while rumor said that it would be extended until the first week of May (= +15 episodes). Then Televisa returned to the original plan and it ended in April.
But don't think that +15 episodes would've made the last episodes better. First, it's a Mejía-Abud production. Second, I've seen tons of telenovelas, but never, ever seen any Telerisa production that tied up all loose ends and gave the protagonists enough quality time together after the sufferings they had to bear. However, the endings of Mi pecado (with the baby), Pasión (with the Jolie-Pitt babies), Corazón salvaje 1993 (we're gonna have a baby!), Al diablo con los guapos (many decades later), Querida enemiga (many years later) and the extended version of Amor real (ten years later) were very nice.

I agree that this production had a huge amount of potential (two awesome stories and great/mediocre but lovely actors) but the creators screwed it up with the bad wigs, the directing, the incoherent script, the bipolarity of Juan and especially with giving the side characters too much screentime instead of focusing on the protagonists. Damn you, Mejía, you became a very bad producer. However, the characters (even the baddies) and actors (even the wooden ones) were so adorable and the chemistry between Juan and Reggie was so magnificent that it was worth watching. The month that the characters and we, viewers spent on the Luzbel was the most charming of all telenovelas for me.

I think Renato wanted to die. Both Juan and Regina wanted to run and get help and every single time he told them "no." I think it would have hurt his soul to see Juan and Regina together, raising their hijo, while he's alone. I think he knew he'd lost Regina forever when Juan told him Regina was expecting his baby. Like he told Leona, Regina was like air for him. His air supply was cut off, so there was no need for him to be alive anymore.

Anon 4:49, I think you're right. It did destroy Renato to know Regina is carrying Juan's baby and he knew he did lose her forever. Same thing with Aimee. When Kuma, the witch, told her that about the baby boy Regina was having, she was crushed and knew deep down that she lost Juan forever. It's a sad tale all around since both Renato and Aimee were obsessed with people they could never have.

Thanks, Sue! After Wednesday's and Thursday's, this one must have come as a relief. At least you had something to work with besides weddings and flashbacks.

So I was wrong about you, Ren. I thought you'd live and suffer - or if you were really lucky, redeem yourself and find some sort of peace. But you, you have to go after both of them in death. Why couldn't you have figured it out sooner so it didn't have to be like this? Even in the end, after all you'd done, Juan still wanted to save you. (Though, ah... Did Juan actually say "He's dead, dead, dead!" as it sounded with my limited command of Espanol? I had to facepalm and omg a little at that.)

On the snarkier side of things... Okay, so, Noel feels pain in heart, and Mari says, "Maybe it's because you're not used to dancing." Even if that was the case, couldn't that be a sign that, say, maybe the unaccustomed dancing has just given the poor man a heart attack?

Yea, Leo. Don't worry, your son's not going to walk in on your great escape...because your conspirator there just killed him. Oh, you're afraid to go into the prison in which you trapped and tortured your sister for so much of your life? I can't for the life of me imagine why.

And how the heck does Rod know about Renato already?

Normally I don't mind Philippe's scenes too much, but this one was just bizarre. Little comic birdies, guys? Seriously? Even the film editors were fast-forwarding through this one!

Is the last episode seriously only forty minutes? I thought I picked up at some point that it was going to be a double one?

Hopefully the administrators of TN-World will create an LVO forum in this century...

Aribeth, if they don't, another blog could always be created for it. ;) I've never done a blog, but I would be willing to do that if anyone is interested... BUT... and this is a big but, I don't want to step on any toes or upset the moderators on this blog or on TN-World.

What does everyone think? Aribeth, when will you know if TN-World will create a forum for LVO?

I had already been asked to inquire of Melinama if we could have an LVO discussion blog here so I did, and by coincidence, she just responded in the affirmative. :-)

So later on, I was going to post an initial entry with the synopsis and banner and stuff. I will do that later on this evening.

Many thanks to Melinama!

I've been thinking that having the same actress play Aimee and Regina hurt the time we had with the main couple. It had to have affected how much screen time Reggie had. Then, maybe the producers thought the actors had plenty of love scenes, who cares if it was mostly Aimee? :-)

Seriously, what was the point of having AA play both sisters? One less actress to hire? They never really used being identical for any serious mistaken identity plot that I remember. Just brief "Regina - no Aimee" moments.

Anon 7:40, it did seem for a while there that the producers forgot that Juan and Regina was the story and not Juan and Aimee. There was a lot of Juan and Aimee with plenty of racy love scenes and little Juan and Regina. When they did finally get together we only got two love scenes which Uni butchered to pieces. I think that was definitely one of the many mistakes the producers made. Maybe the point of having Regina and Aimee being identical twins was for Juan to see the differences in both and the feelings he had for them. Lust with Aimee and true love with Regina.

Ha muerto. Renato had a beautiful place to die. He might have lived but I think he pretty much talked himself to death. I really thought all that shouting after he had died might bring him back for a sentence or two but enough was enough. Did you notice that Regina didn't have any blood on her dress after holding on to Renato for so long. How did that work? Wasn't he stabbed in the back?

Anyway the look on Noel's face when he heard about Renato and his whole grieving speech broke my heart. He has come a long way in this telenovela. I have always liked his work, but this was his best at least from what I have seen.

I'm figuring that Leonarda will never see the light of day but I don't know what will happen to Rod and Arcadio. Both of them deserve horrible painful deaths but I don't think we have time for that. Their deaths will probably be quick and unsatisfying.

I can't wait for the end but can't stay up. I'll watch it Monday AM. The question is whether or not I'll read the recap first.

ML

ML, Renato was stabbed in his heart and Regina did have stains of blood on her dress and her arms from where she cradled him.

I just watched the ep, and it was damned painful. The scenes between Rodrigo and Noel were riveting, though. Very interesting indeed.

Gracias, Sue, for the recap. And for wanting Renato to just die already...I felt a little guilty for shouting that at the screen while I was watching. Only a LITTLE guilty, though :)

That's great news, Jeri. I'm excited about LVO.

Thanks, jeri for setting up the site for LVO.

ML, Renato was unfortunately murdered on the couples' wedding day and in Jiimangela and Gabe's beautiful Disney rainbow colored waterfall setting where they first did the deed. Bummer for them all around. They all need to redo their vows on a more propitious date, if possible. Maybe they can all say their vows together when Juan and Regina remarry....a quadruple wedding like the mass weddings on the t v news.

GinCA

Love the recap, sad that it's ending and hate Renato's death. Would someone please explain what is meant by:
"Hopefully the administrators of TN-World will create an LVO forum in this century..."
Someone responded that Melinama said it was OK to create a blog.
Does that mean that it will be recapped and accessible from the sidebar like the other novelas?
Thanks

Lil, the LVO banner, cast list and synopsis has now been posted on the front page and added to the Delicious sidebar. Comments ensue.

Recaps are not planned, but as of now we're trying a nightly discussion thread. Probably if someone is dying to write recaps, more power to him/her.

(But the only reason CS has recaps is because it started out in prime time. Melinama has said she doesn't ask people to write recaps for a show that late.)

For a link to the discussion pages on the caray (pink) sidebar, I think Melinama has to do that.

Hory cow, Batman! The LVO Discussion link in the pink box on the front page is already there. She is fast! So there you are, Lil.

I had already been asked to inquire of Melinama if we could have an LVO discussion blog here so I did, and by coincidence, she just responded in the affirmative. :-)

Woo Hoo, Jeri! Thanks for doing that! I can really look forward to watching LVO now.

Good morning! Wow, these are wonderful news! Thanks to Melinama and Jeri. :)) I'm very glad and grateful to have a discussion page here.

Okay, here's what I can do for the LVO viewers:
- post summary videos
- post screencaps for each episode
- the usual telenovela gossip I always post :)
- write short summaries
- explain the most difficult scenes (as long as I myself understand them :))

But. LVO has 120 episodes. I definitely can't write summaries for six months. Unfortunately the day doesn't contain more than 24 hours, and I also have a family, job, studies, one thousand hobbies and I'm still working on the short version of CS (it's a time killer), therefore if anyone likes the show and decides to write summaries (one sentence about each scene) occasionally that would be really much appreciated. :)

Wow Renato was really milking his death scene ! He was dying through almost 3 commercial breaks!! My hubbie went outside to talk to a neighbor then when he came back
in said "that guy is STILL dying ?"

I didn't want him to die, maybe just come to his senses, befriend Juan & Regina. Become the caring guy he once was. He was lied to his entire life, he just needed true friends & family. Maybe become the padrino to the new baby.

Also didn't want Noel to suffer the loss of his only child.

Death was too easy for Aimee, I was hoping she would have lived the fall, but maybe be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life . Or better yet her face badly scarred from the accident ! Perfect punishment for someone so vain .

Jimena scored with Gabe. , but I thought Lulu & Jacinta could have married younger men. They looked more like fathers doing the father daughter Dance at the wedding.

Thank you all for making this so enjoyable, without your recaps and comments I would have given up watching TN's long ago!!

Aribeth, that is so great to hear! I have been so grateful for all your many contributions with links and photos for CS.

If not for your links, I personally would not have been able to recap; and I know many others have found them indispensible, too. Thank you so much.

Looking forward to LVO and your contributions!

Morning everyone. I would love to watch the new LVO especially as there will be a discussion link. However I am also watching all three prime time novelas also at the moment so I guess I have become a telenovela junkie.

Four of them has been too much. Hubby complains that is all I do. I will be checking in here from time to time and checking out some of Aribeth's videos and hope I don't get hooked on them.

I have so enjoyed this show and am glad I stuck with it when it moved. I can't say thank you enough times to all the recappers that stuck with it also when it moved.

Looking forward to tomorrow night to see how they will TRY and wrap up everything in such a short period of time.

I am going to miss CS. The good guys and the bad!! I have seen EY act besides the telenovelas and he is an ex. actor. However, I adore the good guy , romantic roles he plays in the TNS. Nobody can do a love seen like him and he makes me feel like I am right there with him. Wow a dremworld can be fun after a hard day of teaching school. I also like that he is a more mature actor and quite a hunk for his age. The telenovelas are full of great looking youg guys. I hope he returns soon as a lead role .. I want more EY!!!

Thanks, Sue! I really enjoyed all of your recaps. You're very funny and creative. I hope u stick around for more novelas. :)

From my point of vie and not to belabore the obvious, it was a time of repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation for the trio of Renato,Regina and Juan. Sure i would have liked to see Renato survive but this was a good way to go. I also think that renato really wanted to die and that his wounds were severe enought hat he would have died even if rushed to the doctor. Still should have made an effort too. Total agreement x2 that the death scene was too long. It could have been used fo the other loose ends. Glad to know I'm not the only one wondering about the gun smuggling business and Regina's photography 'Hobby'. Seemed like a fleeting hobby. ***Rolleyes***

The first few months episodes were overly dramatic and bad bad wigs. Later on Leonarda was much better and alos wearing a better wig. Aribeth of course was right about that. I also remember discussion that the CS run was supposed to be extended and got shortened instead. I also remember the negative reception of CS.

I did not know about an extended version of Amor Real. Of course I never saw it's first run just dvd and the telefutura rerun.

I wonder if Leonarda will be notified of Renato's untimely demise. Will she lose her mind or die of starvation since Rodrigo, Arcadiuo and Fulgencio will get killed. No one would know about Leonarda in the catacomb dungeon and Juan and Regina will abandon the Finca. So many things in so little time. They may not do the meses despues because there might be no time for it.

Ibarramedia

Ibarramedia, I believe the photography hobby was a hold over from Yo Compro Esa Mujer, where a photograph by the heroine was important to the plot. That got dropped here.

Also, when Amor Real was first shown in the US, they cut the end off where Manuel comes back in the wagon and didn't show the jump to the future that was in Mexico. They did the same with the DVD. However, when they just showed Amor Real on Telefutura, they showed the extended ending with the dance in the future.

Thanks for a funny recap. I felt the same way! That death scene had to be one of the longest on record!!!!
===========

I do want to give a special shout out to all of the current CS2009 recappers who continued to keep us entertained and informed after the show went to the graveyard shift. I couldn't handle the switched schedule, but it was a fun tn to recap. I've really enjoyed some of the punishements this time around, despite the screwed up combination story-line and script. I do miss the earlier, sexier, more passionate Juan and will keep that character in my dreams forever--no doubt alongside Susanlynn! Well, off to start the work week~ ¡Muchas gracias, amigos!

Jardinera! Nice to see you; I'd been wanting to thank you for your CS recaps. (Melinama doesn't expect people to recap midnight shows, LOL.) Thanks for all your hard work.

Forgive my late post. I can't comment from home and I've had a day from hades here at work (a destination I suspect Arcadio, Leo and Rod will be "languishing" soon).

Connie, thank you for your wonderful recap last week. Your humor was a bright light that guided us through the dark storms in this novela, particularly the first few months. Although I'll be reading your other recaps, I would like to wish your son continued blessings...

Sue, I so enjoy your tell it like it is style! You've added so much to the recaps - a sincere thank you!

So many marvelous comments already. 50! So indicative of the loyal and stalwart following of this story.

I wondered if the stab of pain Noel felt was to indicate Renato was really his son? We've speculated that he might be Arcadio's. Well, I imagine we will find out tonight definitively.

I loved the show. I loved the actors. I can't wait until tonight although sad it is ending.

Thank you to all recappers, present and past. What a wonderful trip this has been.

Diana

I noticed that Mejia likes these psychic connections like Noel feeling stabbed in the chest when Renato was stabbed. Jimena and her instincts, etc. He did that a lot more in FELS. Juan feeling Sofia's pain or the 3 ninas.

Ibarramedia

Ty guys for the LVO discussion. I already feel like part of a big party. I would have missed it so much if it did not continue. I wanted to do the recaps for LVO. But I can only do them once a week becuase I go to college and take my son to school very early in the morning. I am thankful for all the CS re capers. You guys rocked it.

angeldawnkris:

That would be great! :)) If you still want to do it.

"I noticed that Mejia likes these psychic connections like Noel feeling stabbed in the chest when Renato was stabbed. Jimena and her instincts, etc." Regina also felt that something happened to Juan when he went over the cliffs. I guess that was to show that they are soulmates. Today is the day. I'm really going to miss this show.

Hi Caray family!

Estoy muy emocionante; I can't believe tonight is our last night together under the CS sombrilla.

My epi #134 WTFs:

Renato's drawn out redemption/death scene- GinCA: "Ren's last words which were actually enough to fill a mini-novela. I was crying for poor Ren but chuckling at how long it was actually taking him to fade away." and Aribeth: "However, when he was dying for 40 minutes I was like "Just die already!!!" said it perfectly!

Arca trapping Leo in MdR's old cell in the catacombs- OMG!! Did you see how she begged him to get her out of there?? I must have rewound that bit three or four times just so I could hear BEG :)

Rod learning about what Leo did to Costanza from Noel- I am so glad that Noel had a chance to stab Rod in the heart just a little, in return for the HELL Rod has caused.

My, my, my... what on earth is going to happen tonight? I can't wait, but am also sad that we have come to the end of this great ride :(

Hasta mañana amigos!

Marisol

The question right now is who will out Fulgencio committing his crimes? Will it be Noel or Pablo?

Ibarramedia

I thought the new aquacil and his men might find a sea of floating bodies when they were going to be asked to search for Ren and Juan when they fell/jumped off the cliff into the sea. Well, nix that idea which went nowhere. Otherwise, what evidence is there against Fully unless the seamstress grows a conscience..not likely. And besides Fully is one scaRY DUDE.

GinCA

OOPS, MUST HAVE HIT THE CAPS ACCIDENTALLY. YEP, I DID.

GINCA

Federico, Eloisa and Servando seemed to just end up with the trees. I did not see the bodies fall into the sea.

Ibarramedia

Aribeth Sure I can do it . Just need to know how and when you need me :)

angeldawnkris, my email is jeri@tormenta.com.

I'm going to try to function as the team leader for the LVO discussion, so if you could get in touch with me, I would appreciate it. Thank you!
