La Fea Más Bella #113-114 12/3/10 Tomorrow's gonna' be a brighter day.

Capitulo 113.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Pilar decides to stay in bed and not go to the commercial shoot because she’s afraid of horses. Fernando fears that if they can’t make the commercial, it will be the end of Conceptos.

2. Tomás sneaks into the club. Alicia is turned out because she didn’t pay her club dues.

3. Sara pursues the security guard. He ignores her like a Buckingham Palace guard.

4. Julieta cries because she forgot the salsa.

5. Pilar arrives and complains about everything

Capitulo 114.
Read Julie’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Pilar rejects the hair and makeup planned for the shoot. She refuses to wear the cape the client requires. She says that if they don’t do it her way, she quits.

2. Lety tells Fernando he should call Luigi for advice on how to handle divas. Fernando doesn’t want to because he can’t stand for Luigi to see him helpless, but finally he relents and calls Luigi.

3. Sara pursues the security guard.

Reading the comments from Amanda's old recap, I was glad to see that many people enjoyed the comic scenes of Cap 113. I hope you queridas foristas like them too.

For me, this was the very worst phase of the show. But the good news is, it'll NEVER AGAIN get this bad! There's one horrible cap late in the series (it involves a loan), but that's only one cap. And there is a 12-cap section in the 200's where there is zero plot progress, but the episodes are fun anyway. (Heck! MEPS went for MONTHS with no plot progress!)

We're still in the horse commercial Monday, but the episodes are better. We get some wonderful, memorable episodes next week (spoiler-free hint: it includes a soccer game), and the following week, all I can say is, BURNINATING!!!

Don't forget. Jaime's new show, "El Gran Show," starts this Sunday night, 8 PM, Uni. Looks fun. I think it's a 2 hour block.

Well that was certainly a two hour wasted block of my life. The only good thing was the Fern/Lety flashback.

The scene with Sara and the guard was almost painful to watch. I've always found the cuartel annoying but in that scene they were almost a disgrace to womenkind everywhere.

As Paula says there are parts of LFMB that drag with nothing much happening, I'm thinking about some things with the cuartel and much later in the show. However when things do move they are often fantastic and worth sitting through the dead and boring parts. Unfortunately it happens in almost all novelas.

Wouldn't you know...just when my life settles back down and I can watch again...it's the long drawn out ad deal with the annoying model. But yes, as Decie Girl notes, there was that marvelous flashback when the model asks him if he still loves "feas". Fernando in a t-shirt and making love....can't be beat.

Hi Paula. That whole Sara scene was pretty terrible the first time I saw it and this time I made sure I fast forwarded most of it.

Can't decide what I found more annoying today. Thomas following Alicia around, Pilar, or the caurtal.

Couple of cute scenes with Fernando and Lety but not much else. Also the flashback was nice.

I endured the 2 hours to watch Fern in the trailer demonstrating to Pilar how to wear the cape and throw it off. I loved the makeup artist's rapturous reaction to watching Fern. I actually felt the same way. ( I am not a gay male by the way.)

Thanks to all for your efforts.

One thing did strike me yesterday that I hadn't noticed before. Fern has absolutely no coping skills. Yesterday he did everything except start wringing his hands and shouting Dios Mio. If he had any he wouldn't have gotten himself in the jam with FI and cooking the books. Omar for all his insane ideas at least tries to find solutions. I also suspect that Lety doesn't have them either but only time will tell.

I'm posting the videos in HD on youtube - I am a little behind, by 2 weeks, but it takes me along time to edit and upload. The Capitulo #'s don't match what you have but I would suggest go by the date.
Have fun and enjoy revisiting this fun novela. I don't have episodes before Nov 10th, as this is when I started recording them.
Thanks,

I forgot to post the link.
Enjoy!!

Thanks, Liz. I'm curious; what numbering system did you use? The numbers here follow the sequence of the original recaps which were tied to the original US broadcast, and they're the same as the numbers on the te-lanovela disks.

Don't think I'm arguing with you; I'm not. I just get curious. I see these various numberings here and there, and I wonder where they come from. You're the first person I've found who might know.

A couple of days ago I enjoyed watching how Pilar was completely unaffected by Alicia's antics. In this episode I was kind of rooting for Alicia to get the best of Pilar. I wonder why? She's a pain but she doesn't give up easily, that's for sure.

I also thought Fernando's cape-throwing scene was about the funniest ever. I had to rewind and watch again. However my most favorite scene was the one that has been mentioned, Fern's flashback. He's seriously smitten.

Thanks Paula and others for the fun recaps.

OK, so maybe I'm the only one who enjoyed Sara's scenes with Roldolfo. It's because Sara didn't often get much to do do on the show - she wasn't in the love pentagon with Jasmin/Saimon/PM/Cheque/Lola, Irma gets some story later on, but Juana and Sara don't get many moments to themselves.

Also, I feel like I've been in that situation, trying to get the attention of someone inscrutable. ;-)

Julie I had a laugh out loud moment the other day when I was sipping coffee and leafing through a fashion magazine at the local Border's. Turned a page and found an add for Bebe with a model clad in black lace on a white horse. Almost inhaled the coffee though my nose and drew some stares because I flashed right back to the horse commercial we have been enduring.

I've definitely been enjoying this horse commercial thing more this time around, because it's going by twice as fast, and I can ff through the stuff I don't care about, which is most of it.

But I remember being exasperated by it back in the day, because the horse commercial was an unexpected departure from the BLF story. With the main plot seemingly suspended during all this horsey nonsense, there was a lot of suspense as to what would happen next.

Yes Julie, the main plot treads water in this stage, but we do see some gradual developments in Fernando, both in the commercial shoot and in the upcoming subplots of the treading-water stage. I think the last few caps were SO BAD because writers were buying some time to write better stuff for the upcoming subplots.

I'm with you. The commercial bothers me less, this time around. The first time, I was so annoyed by three caps of blither, that I mostly stopped listening throughout the shoot. This time I simply skipped the awful caps, and I discovered that the 2nd half of the commercial has some good stuff.
