Teresa Thu 6/9/11 #75 Hernan is the Galán, and Professor Hottie Hits the Booze

Teresa Cap #75, June 9, 2011. Lo siento everyone, again I am late in getting this up because this last week has been hectic and tiring and I just caught up with Teresa (and am several days behind on Alborada!). (UPDATE FULL RECAP BELOW.)

CLICK ON SCREENCAPS TO SEE LARGER VERSION.

Hernan is THE Galán—he is so awesome with Esperanza. Connect the dots, Espe, he is Mr. Right!

Hernan is Mr. Awesome. Aw man!

You let me down, Professor Hottie. You hit the booze, big time. You're still hot and all, but dude. This drinking thing is a ticket to Loserville. And don't even get me started on that thing with Paloma.

I find Professor Hottie's Fall From Grace to be interesting, but disappointing. I didn't expect this.

Teresa and Professor Hottie have a steamy reconciliation, and Professor Hottie decides the way to make things better is for Teresa to have an hijo. Into the trash the birth control pills go, he says! But we see that Teresa fishes them out again after he's gone.

HERE'S THE FULL RECAP. SORRY FOR THE DELAY!
I'm going to try to condense scenes here.

My recording starts with Mayra and Aida trashing Esperanza as Mariano listens in. Mariano finally has enough and sticks up for Espe. He says she's a victim of circumstance, which prompts Mayra to pop a cork of outrage.

Teresa is trying to reason with Professor Hottie about Mariano. I think she's saying that in the past Professor Hottie was distant with her (before the engagement/marriage) and especially after Paloma resurfaced, so she tried to have something with Mariano. She thought she could "forget" Professor Hottie. Professor Hottie seems unmoved by her story. She goes on to say that after she "tried" with Mariano, she felt bad because she didn't love him. Professor Hottie asks her why she let him think that the only other guy she'd slept with was Paulo. She said he assumed that and she let him assume that because she was afraid—she knew how much he hated Mariano.

The unhappy couple.

Juana and Refugio are talking. Something about Teresa and Refugio says (with a great martyred, self-sacrificing sigh) that Teresa is too busy and important to care about her mama anymore. WHAT. EVER.

Rubigote is kicking back at Geno's, but he needs to get back before Mayra gets suspicious. Geno mentions that Esperanza has already found an "otro," (Hernan el galán), she saw them together at the hospital. Rubigote seems alarmed by this and then tries to pretend he's cool with it by saying, "Good for her."

Teresa calls Aurora, all freaked out because Professor Hottie overheard the conversation where she admitted she'd slept with Mariano. Aurora tries to calm her down.

Hernan the galán asks Esperanza if she's thought about what he's revealed to her, about his feelings. She just can't believe that he'd seriously be interested in her. He says why not? She's a marvelous girl. He was impressed with her the first time he saw her, when her little brother was being treated in the hospital. She has trouble with all of this, her awareness of her own mistakes and sins weigh her down. Hernan assures her that he would be a "true father" to her baby and he leans in for a kiss. But Esperanza moves away before he can make contact. Poor Hernan the galán. He's laying it all out on the line but Esperanza has such poor self-esteem she just isn't getting it.

Professor Hottie is chugging back the booze as Luisa walks in and sees him. She tries to pry out of him what is wrong but he just wants to drink alone. Professor Hottie, this whole sulky drunken schtick is not working for you.

More with Hernan the galán and Espe. She thinks he had a thing with the pretty doctor Graciela. No, no, he assures her. They're just friends. He thinks that Espe is just afraid to be happy. (This is TOTALLY it!) She is still unsure and finally says that she just can't get over Rubigote. Hernan tries to convince her to move on, in time she'll see that she can have feelings for another. But no. Espe just can't do it. Poor Hernan!

Luisa goes to Teresa, all concerned about Professor Hottie's drinking and return to Loserville. She's at the top of the stairs and looks down at him as he chugs down another glass full of booze. She has this evil, smug smile of satisfaction on her face, seeing his loserific downfall. He continues to drink as memories of Teresa's lies flash back to him. Her nervousness on the wedding night. Her admitting that she lied about sleeping with Mariano but saying it's his (Prof Hottie's) fault. Confronting Mariano. All the while Teresa looks on, evil and smug.

He's bought a ticket to Loserville as sharky, evil Teresa looks on with glee and satisfaction.

Aida getting on Mariano's case about sticking up for Esperanza. She wants him to shun Esperanza because she's a home-wrecking ho, but Mariano isn't going for it. After her insistence, he finally tells her: Her dearest Daddy told Espe that he couldn't get a divorce because his daughter (Aida) was involved in drugs. Aida looks impactada at this tidbit. She then expresses her despair at how things have turned out. She had rose-colored glasses before—life was good, great parents, she was going to get married. And it all went down the crapper. Thank goodness she has Mariano, she says, and he gives her a comforting hug.

Finally Teresa flies down from her perch and feigns sympathy and interest in our drunken Professor Hottie. He staggers around, sulky and sloshed, as she spews more garbage about how she didn't tell him about Mariano because she was afraid of how he'd react. Blah blah blah. She hugs him and repeats how much she loves him. She moves in for a kiss. No response from Professor Hottie. She decides to leave and wants to forget the kiss, but Professor Hottie pulls her back. He can't quit her. ("Can't live without her.") This time the kiss is hot, hot, hot, and Teresa gives a look of sharky triumph as he tightly embraces her.

I didn't quite get all of this: Rubigote is finally preparing to leave Geno's and he's saying something about how he doesn't like Aida being around Mariano. Geno says that for the time being, let's use them to our advantage (or something).

Juana comes home as Esperanza is sleeping on the couch. They have a talk about Hernan the galán. Juana can't understand why Esperanza won't take up with Hernan—he's so sweet, great guy, guapo . . . but Espe can't get over Rubigote, and feels like she'd be using Hernan if she took what he offered. Oy, Juana feels the way we do. This is lame! Can't you figure it out, Esperanza? Yeesh!

Teresa and Professor Hottie stumble into the bedroom, things are getting hotter and Professor Hottie is rarin' to go.

Martin goes over to deliver some papers to Paloma and she spills all (I think) about her and Professor Hottie's pathetic, drunken coupling the other night. She's over the moon with joy and hopes this means that she can get her hooks into Professor Hottie again. Martin isn't so sure. He doesn't think this is going to work out but Paloma says don't worry about me, I'm fine. Martin still isn't convinced.

Professor Hottie and Teresa in bed, tangled in the sheets, basking in the afterglow. Teresa mentions something about Professor Hottie's night spent with Fernando (which was actually the pathetic drunken night with Paloma). You see a fleeting look of guilt flash over Professor Hottie's face. Teresa's glad that they're back on track with a new beginning. Professor Hottie has her profess her love for him, and only him.

Aida has a big showdown with papa. He at first is all astonished, like what's going on. She yells at him that she knows he claimed that she was a druggie to Esperanza, etc etc. She gives her dad a resounding slap across the face and yells that she hates him. Papa looks pretty shocked by all this. He tries to claim that Esperanza told Mariano this lie, but Aida doesn't seem to accept this. He keeps on trying to convince her, but she says she doesn't trust him and doesn't love him.

Aurora indicates to Martin that she's ready to take their relationship to the next level. Martin is very happy about this, saying "Te amo" as he moves in for a slow kiss. He then wants to make sure she's really ready. Totally, she says, but she's a little nervous. "Well!" he says flippantly. "No rush! You can seduce me!" She finds this amusing and so leans over and starts a kiss.

Martin is playing it cool.

It's morning, and Professor Hottie has cleaned up and doesn't look like a drunken loser anymore. He approaches Teresa and says that now that they are having their new start, she shouldn't be seeing Mariano anymore. (Or something like that.) Sure, except for when they bump into each other coincidentally. Okay, sure, he agrees. Then he says they should both sleep in the main bedroom like a proper married couple. (I think?)

Mariano visits Refugio. Asking after Teresa. Refugio basically says "move on," that Teresa is happy with her husband and Mariano needs to find happiness somewhere else. Mariano gives his best sad sack look.

We meet back up with Aurora and Martin tangled in the sheets. It was great, Martin says. Aurora seems fairly happy too. Martin babbles on about being happy and how he looks forward to being together with her in the future or some such. Happy happy happy.

Professor Hottie, looking guilty as he furtively looks around to make sure no one is listening, places a call to Pathetic Paloma. He needs to talk to her. She seems inordinately pleased and hopeful as she agrees. The maid then pops in through the door to tell him that Fernando's here to see him.

He tells Fernando everything. He and Teresa are on again. He can't be without her. He deeply regrets the thing with Paloma. Teresa is HIS, she won't be around that idiot Mariano. Fernando brings up something about having kids and Professor Hottie latches onto that, saying that a child is a "proof of a union of a couple" (or something like that.) He seems to think that a child will cement their relationship. You keep on thinking that, dude.

Luisa is talking with Teresa about what went down with Professor Hottie. Basically Teresa assures her that things are gonna be fine and Professor Hottie won't be drinking anymore. Then Luisa starts talking about Fernando. (I missed some of it here.) Something about Fernando preferring to live with Luisa before they get married. Teresa advises against this.

Professor Hottie walks in. Fernando is waiting for Luisa downstairs and she goes to him. He sees Teresa starting to take her birth control pill. He stops her, telling her that they should have a kid now. She is confused—she thought they agreed to wait a little while so they could enjoy some alone-time. He says that since he is such an old geezer already that if they don't start RIGHT THIS SECOND that he'll be too feeble and decrepit to enjoy the kids growing up. Or whatever. It's total horse manure. She smilingly agrees. He takes the birth control pills and throws them in the trash. She won't need these anymore! Then he wants to start working on making that baby right now (he is always ready! LOL) but she puts him off until later. She says she'll see a gynecologist about getting pregnant. As soon as he leaves, however, she rushes to fish the pills out of the trash and takes one.

Obligatory Johnny/Jailbait scene. The diary of Grizelda doesn't seem damning enough for blackmail purposes, Johnny thinks, but Jailbait says (I think) that it has some embarrassing stuff about her dreams about Cutberto. FF>>

Some completely incomprehensible scene between Cutberto and Grizelda. I didn't try too hard to figure this out. Basically he doesn't have money for something and I don't know . . . She walks off in a huff and he is cursing Johnny underneath his breath.

Aida goes to Geno, kvetching about the stuff she found out about Daddy using her supposed drug addiction as an excuse to get into Esperanza's panties. Geno dissuades her from this, saying that Rubigote sucks as a husband but not as a father. Geno then suggests that maybe the person who spread this story around was none other than Teresa. Aida jumps on this and starts in with the screeching and outrage over Teresa.

Teresa and Professor Hottie visit Refugio and give her a framed wedding picture. Refugio enthusiastically takes it and places it on the mantle or table or wherever and places the Virgencita figurine near it, saying that the Virgencita can look over and protect their marriage. Shark music plays as Teresa looks skeptical.

Geno and Mayra talking about Esperanza's pregnancy. I missed something here, but they are wondering what would happen if the baby's Rubigote's. The kid would require some of the inheritance or income for support. And even if Rubigote were not married to Espe, the kid would unite them forever. Mayra doesn't like the sound of this.

Rubigote barges into Mariano's office (or wherever) at the hospital, all in a rage because of what Mariano told Aida about his lies to get into Esperanza's panties. Of course Rubigote claims that Esperanza lied. But Mariano says he knows Esperanza and he knows Rubigote and frankly he believes Espe. Then Rubigote says something about how Mariano just wants to marry Aida for her money. Mariano says that if he wanted to marry Aida, it would be because he thought they would be happy or would make a good marriage. "Aha! Then you have been thinking of getting married!" Rubigote exclaims.

Thanks for the teaser!! I missed the episode last night - I'm looking forward to your recap!

Is Professor Hottie always ready to go or something? The night he visited Paloma he had already made love to Teresa. Yet at Paloma's, very drunk, he could still "perform"?

And the next evening, as soon as they (sort of) make up, Art's pretty sloshed again, but so ready to jump Teresa's bones that he can't even make it out of the office?

Ick! Not romantic in the least!

Audrey

I like where this tn is going. For some reason I feel like Pal isn't going to make it to the end.
Teresa is too smart for her not to find out what really happened between Pal and Art.
I'm starting tom think that Mariano and Aida will call it quits over Esperanza. We'll see.
Can't wait for tonight's episode!

Audrey - funny observation!

Anon, I was actually thinking about that yesterday. It seems about time for either a major mishap or fast forward. I think Tere's going to have a baby, but I think it's going to be Mariano's. Either that, or Paloma will, but not make it through childbirth, which will prompt Teresa to leave, then fast forward to her return? Maybe by then Pati will not be in the story anymore since she will no longer be jailbait...

Aurora actually "did it" with Martin a bit surprising because she's not into him and clearly didn't go into it wanting to jump his bones because he's so hot and she wanted him sexually.

I'm thinking now that she's "had some" shell let lose be more happy and not think so much about Mariano.

Holy cannoli, Arturo has absolutely no sense of moderation or pacing. He's either super mad at Teresa, chugging down booze and losing all grip on his morality, or he's gung-ho to get makin' babies. Instant switch, nothing in between. I really don't like how pushy he is about having children, and not even just because their relationship is doomed and Teresa would be a terrible mother. Does he grasp that pregnancy and childbirth is going to have more impact on Teresa than on him? She's the one who will be dealing with the discomfort and pain and interference with her activities. If she's not ready for that ordeal, it's just going to be even worse. He talks like he's on the verge of senior citizenship but he isn't; I think they could wait a few months at least.

I was surprised Aurora gritted her teeth and took her relationship with Martin to the next level. It's too bad she really doesn't seem to be able to fall in love with him. He's so funny. I liked how when she said she was nervous, he was all, "well, I'm patient and I don't want to be pushy." Then he just kicked back in the lounge chair and said, "okay, YOU seduce ME." He can always make her smile.

Is Professor Hottie always ready to go or something? The night he visited Paloma he had already made love to Teresa. Yet at Paloma's, very drunk, he could still "perform"?

The professor has gone without for almost 15 years. Yes, he is "ready to go."

I think Tere's going to have a baby, but I think it's going to be Mariano's.

I doubt she'll ever get preggers. Mayra has a better chance of getting pregnant than Teresa. Teresa's got Ivana-itis.

Esperanza needs to let Ruben go. And Aida was heartbroken to learn her dad portrayed her as some drughead to Esperanza.

The main reason Arturo wants Teresa pregnant ASAP is so she can waddle around town with the proof of her having had sex with Arturo and being Arturo's woman. NOT a good reason to have a child.

I like Martin's personality more all the time, but that Barrio Manilow look he's got going is just NOT working for me.

Yes, Arturo wants Teresa to have a baby now because he feels it will be a way to keep Teresa and show Mariano that Teresa is his, but in in all fairness, he was very upset when he heard about the baby that Paloma "lost." He moped and daydreamed about that for several days. Also, he has gone to the trouble of creating a inheritance for his "children" and so most likely he has been in that frame of mind for some time. I think that there is some selfishness in his desire for a child, but his biological clock is ticking just like that of some women and I can understand where he is coming from. In one scene, when he was pushing for a pregnancy, he mentioned to Teresa that they had talked about it before they married, but as usual, they must have been talking but not hearing each other.

I usually don't make these generalizations, because people can change so much, but as others are saying, Teresa doesn't seem to have a lot of maternal instincts and I'm of the same opinion of everyone else that she should wait, and maybe for a long time. This is a little mean, but I don't see Refugio as a loving, supportive mother, maybe Teresa hasn't had a good role model.

They started a few minutes early and I'm not sure what I might have missed, so I'm especially interested in that part! Anxiously awaiting your recap, Elvira, but wonderful screen caps as always!
=================
Blue Lass: LOL! "Barrio Manilow" now that's a keeper! I wondered who that guy reminded me of. All we need is a scene with him playing a piano.
================
Julia: Art's like a ticking time bomb. I wonder if he'll cause Tere's physical harm or himself or cause Tere to harm him eventually.

It's interesting that after asking his wife to tell him the truth and nothing but the truth about their sexual escapades after their "make-up" session in bed, Mr. Honesty ommited his lapse of judgment with PatPal the night before. ¡Je, Je!

SandyTN: I think you've nailed it with Refugio's mothering skills. She obviously didn't know how to deal with Tere and let her go her own way in favor of dealing with somebody she could control and/or better relate to, the kid sis.

Thanks for the pics Elviria. Can't wait for your recap.

As this tn goes on I become more and more concerned with Art's mental & emotional strength. He doesn't seem to be able to handle things without going to the extremes that Julia mentioned. And whenever anything goes wrong, he drinks...and let's not forget his unfortunate tendency for violence. Though he's a wonderful guy went things are going well, his inability to handle the bad times makes me concerned for any woman he'd be with.

ITA - Sandy and Jardinera regarding Teresa not having a good role model for mothering. She needs to mature and wait.

I too am hoping Espe (or something else) causes Mariano and Aida to break up. Her constant name calling of Espe is offensive (though I understand her hurt). If reaction to her dad last night is a preview of what she might to Geno, I can't wait!

Looking forward to the recap Elvira and love the screencaps. I too was very disappointed to see Arturo guzzling down the liquor like water. It seems Paloma's patheticness has rubbed off on him. I had to laugh though when Teresa stood at railing of the steps watching him and laughing at him. You could see in her eyes that she thought he was pathetic. The kiss and make up scenes were hot though. Did Uni cut some of it out? Sure Teresa wants to have a baby when you're drunk as a skunk Arturo. Not!

Open your eyes Esp. Hernan is the man you don't want to get away and he's crazy about her.

What a slap Aida gave to dear old dad. I was shocked.

Another shock was Aurora sleeping with Martin. I guess she really is trying to make the relationship work and get Mariano out of her head and heart.

PatPal eavedrops on Mariano's private conversation about sleeping with Teresa the night before the wedding and wants to use that info to bust up Arturo's marriage for good in the previews. Tonight's show should be good.

another exciting episode! thanks elvira for the screencaps to set the mood.

diann-thanks for the shoutout on yesterday;s recap about my prediction-- for better or worse, my brain is slowly turning into teresa's. though i was only half right, so i am not all lost ;-)

julia and karen, you are totally right about art--talk about bipolar! like jardinera, i worry that he will get physical, though he has confined his outbursts to inanimate objects thus far.

and pirate babe-i loved aida's slap of rube. that is why i just can't help but dig aida. she does the crazy sh#$ i always wish they would. plus, i think she has fallen for mariano for realsies now.

i have to disagree about aurora being totally not 'into' barrio manilow (LOL!), and forcing herself to do it anyway. i think she was at first, but then once he did the 'you seduce me', she loosened up and got into it.

I would have thought that after returning from spending the night with another woman, Art would have felt some remorse and not been so angry at Teresa, or feel so justified in berating her and demanding honesty. Clearly his "rules" only go one way. How convenient that he seems to forget his own indiscretion so quickly!

Audrey

I love this novela but when I saw in the previews that Paloma overhears Mariano talking about sleeping with Tere the night before the wedding, I thought the show had better set this scene up well because it seems too convenient and coincidental. But then they are always blabbing about their private lives at work. But so far this novela has been written so well, I have faith they can pull this revelation off to make it believable. Yes, Pirate Babe, there should be fireworks tonight. I can hardly wait.

Thank you for posting the shots, and your comments, Elvira.
I have to agree with Audrey, it was pretty weird, Art getting blasted and still he can do it several times. He did have sex with Tere before, he hasn’t totally had nothing for 15 years.
You are so right about Art’s motivation to get her pregnant, Anon207, he wants to mark her as his.
Art’s drinking isn’t that surprising, though, do you remember when Luisa first told Tere about Paloma (and how bad she was for Art) many weeks ago when Tere was still Art’s intern, Luisa mentioned that Art almost ruined himself with alcohol when Pal left him at the alter.
I found Tere’s laughing at Arturo shockingly cruel and sadistic, like someone watching someone being hit by a train and enjoying it. She has no heart. She’s smart, and pretty, and she loves Mariano, but I think her actual ability to love anyone but herself is very limited. I agree, she’d make a terrible mother, but no, I can’t agree it is her mom’s fault. Just because Refugio is religious and moral doesn’t mean she was cruel to her kids.
Blue Lass: ROTFL, Barrio Manilow-I kept thinking that, but didn’t know if anyone on the site would remember him. That chauffer on Eva Luna looked like Barry Manilow, too. Even Barry didn’t have hair that looks like a bird’s nest, though.
Anyway, there is something missing in the Martin/Aurora relationship and it’s not just Aurora’s feelings. Can’t feel much heat from him toward her either, although he verbalizes it enough.
Espe, just try to love Hernan, OK?? Just try.

I'm here! I'm here! I haven't forgotten you! I have been so thrashed all week and I needed a nap. Yes, I know. . . LOL. I feel refreshed now and ready to start the recapping process!

Arturo is morphing himself into an older novela galan, one that is edgier, rougher, drinks more and is unreasonable, kinda like FC as Manuel in Amor Real. I must say Arturo has Manuel beat in the drinking department though, can you damage your liver in one or two nights? Hope not! Of course, we knew from the beginning of Teresa that Arturo is a binge drinker, Luisa, hid the alcohol from him within the first 4-5 capitulos.

Pirate Babe I laughed too when Teresa was on the balcony looking down on Disgusting Art. To me it was a fortelling--now she knows his weakness. It also reminded me of a spider that's about to kill its prey. Goooo Teresa -- Art is such a loser.

Belle

I don't think Refusio has anything to do with Teresa's lack of mothering or lack of a mothering role model. Teresa, after all, has Juana. Both Luisa and Aurora grew up without their mother's love and I'd bet either one of them would be 100x more maternal than Teresa.

Teresa only cares about herself. Any child she did have with Arturo would end up being cared for by Juana, Luisa and Arturo (Teresa would probably never allow that child around her parents).

Any child she ended up having with Mariano would be cared for by Juana, Mariano, Ramon & Refusio (b/c Teresa would leave all of them behind including the child if another Arturo/Fernando came along).

I would also say that 50% of what's wrong with Teresa is Armando, for always playing good cop to Refusio's bad cop. He always gave in. The only two men who see through Teresa are Ruben (game recognizes game) and Cutberto.

Teresa is a sociopath. I know this TN is a remake but not much more about it. I hope Luisa is the one to stick it to her in the end. Art is such a hypocrite!. But I get why he's drinking so much. If he numbs his senses enough he'll silence all the screaming in his head: "she played you, she played you"

What's wrong with Teresa is that she has some genetic deficiency, narcissism, etc. that has made her into a cruel, compulsive, selfish liar! Neither Refugio, nor Armando should be blamed for her sick, and getting sicker, behavior.

On Teresa's maternal instincts, " Both Luisa and Aurora grew up without their mother's love and I'd bet either one of them would be 100x more maternal than Teresa." There is a difference between growing up without your mother and having "holier that thou" very critical mother that is on your case about something 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

Teresa and Arturo didn't have sex before they married. She was quite adamant about that and scared to find out that Arturo expected to her put out (!) on their wedding night. So unless Arturo had been getting some with some random person we don't know about, he's been without for the past 14-15 years (and so has Paloma).

Good stuff all. Bogged ndown with work on what was supposed to be an easy day. Always happens....

Blue Lass: "that Barrio Manilow look he's got going is just NOT working for me." Like everyone - love this comment!!! All I could do was fixate on that dang chain during the smocchies after scene.

I don't really have anything against Martin, just don't think he and Aurora "fit". Can't say she looked totally won over when it was all said and done, she looked nervous and almost forcing the smile. I think somehow she feels like the is the next best thing since she can't have her true love, so it can't be that "special" for her.No real passion.Felt bad for her....

Now, as far as passion goes, drunk as a skunk, Arturo sure has his meter in gear even if he can't stand up straight. Pathetic is going to be so pithed...yeah. Was rooting for those two to make up just so she was ticked off - do NOT like her.

Daddy Rube's little girl is all grown up and packs a wallop. But I too like that Mariano is sticking up for Espe. Good for him!

And why do we have to have the requisite Johnny/Jailbait scene every night? Give it a rest...

Wow what a episode Espe does need to wake up and get over it about Ruben she knows he's a lying two timing dog but in his case it's three timing.

Teresa i can't see her getting pregnant at all she just doesn't have any maternal instincts. It was creepy watching her watch Arturo getting drunk and loving it.

Arturo has a lot of pent up passion so i'm not surprised that he is like the energizer bunny. Not telling Teresa that he slept with Pathetic Paloma is going to comeback and bite him on the butt.

Mariano i loved how he told off Aida and isn't going to keep letting her be offensive with calling Espe names. I think the more she rants like this the more she will push him away with her offensive behavior.

I was shocked and surprised that they had Aurora going all the way with Martin like that. This why i love this novela because in most formulaic novelas her character definitely wouldn't have done the dee. She is just so not into Martin no matter how much she tries to forget Mariano. Poor girl.

I want to say even though Teresa is bad and evil that some of the other women aren't exactly Marry Poppins either. Geno,Aida,Mayra and most especially Pathetic Paloma this woman just won't stop. She needs to get over Arturo and move on despite his one night of sex with her.

Mayra for as much as she wants to look down on Espe wait until she discovers Ruben's affair with Geno.

Geno not only destroying her friends marriage but encouraging their daughter to continue to antagonize Teresa.

Aida her Teresa obsession and now Espe.

Paloma trying to destroy Teresa's marriage to Arturo desperately clinging onto a man who has told her repeatedly that he loves his wife. Now she running to tell the latest she overheard eavesdropping on Mariano's conversation with Dario.

All of these women need to look and self examine their behavior because as much as they are bad mouthing Teresa none of their behavior is above reproach either.

Teresa is as valid an example of a sociopath I have ever seen. I think she is a narcissist because of her mother's preference for her sister and her father's guilt about that. That's where she learned how to play her parents against each other. There are times I think she does it not just for the end result but because she enjoys the process: It keeps her in practice.

Just as she enjoyed watching Arturo get drunk. There aren't enough ugly words to describe this. She pushes Paulo into the path of a drug dealer and now she's driving Arturo to drink. Definitely leaving a path of destruction in her wake.

No way should she even be allowed to have a child. She'd farm the child out to a nanny first, then Juana, then Luisa, and spend no time with him/her at all.

Is it possible that Aurora just had realistic first-time relations? Okay, but more awkward than thrilling? Truly, this telenovela is groundbreaking. Of course, if he were her one true love, it would have been spectacular no matter what.

I agree. Teresa looking down on Art with contempt and enjoying his pathetic suffering - that was horrible!

And, OK, so Art has not had much for a 15 years, but he and Teresa have been married for a couple of weeks, now, right? And It seems overall he has been regulary exercising his "marital rights". I guess it'll take him a while to "catch up". But really, with Teresa sex seems to be more about possesion/ownership. I don't know what he thought he was doing with Paloma. Being comforted, I guess.

Audrey

Blusa: I'd like to see Aida move on, get over those obsessions, and get a life of her own. Oh, well.
Urban, ITA, classic sociopath, she's not a borderline.
Borderlines don't have a sense of their own identity, Tere certainly does, but she has no conscience, she has an over inflated ego, and has no problem breaking rules.
Aurora's night with Martin seemed perfunctory. Utilitarian. Boring.

The problem with being a new, groundbreaking novela is that the writers didn’t know that the “first time” (Aurora/Martin) should have been in a body of water.....lake, pool or especially a cenote! Fireworks for sure in a watery location......

Great comments today!

Emarie perhaps when Aida finds out how truly a jerk her father really is and just leaves Teresa alone she will find that life to move on and think about herself and i agree she is falling for Mariano but because of how she is right now she is
not a good partner for him.

It's sad how many women in Mariano's life are causing him problems from Teresa,Aida and her mother due to the Espe situation and now Pathetic Paloma with her eavesdropping to telling Arturo about what she overheard. None of them thinks about his well being or how their actions will affect him at all or perhaps they just don't care because they believe he'll always be sweet and forgiving Mariano.

I didn't get the impression that how Aurora was acting wasn't because it was her first time. I got the impression she did it to help her try to get over Mariano and she felt she might as well do it since it seem to her that Mariano would never get over his Teresa obsession. But she's not the first woman to have sex with someone she doesn't love. It will be interesting how this plot will evolve from her decision to do this.

I have just read your recap, thank you so much, you cleared up several puzzling scenes, particularly the one where Aida smacked her dad.

Funny recap, Elvira, and thanks so much for the hardwork. "Teresa fishes..." LOL.

Great recap and pictures Elvira. I also wanted to thank Jardinera, Frances and Julia for your recaps this week. I've been keeping up with my phone but it is extremely difficult to post any comment with it.

This has been a crazy week for me, I will finally be arriving at the US on sunday so I had to make some final emergency arrangements in DF. This was quite the week for our novela, wasn't it?

I feel bad for Arturo even if he is being a hypocrite here. I don't know if I'd ever be able to forgive cheating but I definitely wouldn't be able to forgive someone marrying me for money (I don't have it anyway) and not love. While both Arturo and Teresa did horrible things, the one who would be more heartbroken would always be him in this case, since Teresa does not love him.

Anyway, tonight should be good.

It has been a busy day and I haven't been able to get on till now. Great comments! I have no more to add. Wonderful recap and pics as always Elvira.

Jarocha- Safe travels and see you in DC soon! Can't wait to see you.

Elvira, what a fun rollicking recap, I love your take on things. It might have been said before and I missed it, but you made a good point about Espe's self esteem, she doesn't feel worthy of Hector, that makes perfect sense! Your screencaps were spot on, are you getting them from the TV somehow? Anyway, thanks for all your hard work!

Was anyone else mesmerized by the kick-butt necklace Teresa wore (see partial view in screen cap 4)? I want it!!

I have to admit, Aida is growing on me... she is looking less and less evil as Teresa gets moreso (that balcony scene where she watches Arturo drink literally gave me the chills). Aida slapping papa--the best moment of this tn so far!

Thanks for the great recap!

Teresa seems to have gone past her rose/flower phase, and into her bold statement jewelry phase. Being a lover of bold jewelry, I like the pieces as well Amy.

Tere is a tiny terror so sometimes the larger pieces overwhelm her. " You can't have enough jewelry" is my motto.

Unfortunately Paloma did not miss the bus! That was a shocker!
