Cuando Me Enamoro #52 Friday 7/1/11 Mission Imposible

We have two mission imposibles tonight: escaping a bullfight uninjured and pulling off one helluva poorly-planned kidnapping.

Jero carves a heart with his and Renata's name in the Tree of Love, tantalizingly close to the Rafa & Roberta heart. Arely interrupts Jero before he has a chance to see the second heart.

We return to the bullfight-in-progress as Tony's protege has taken the ring. The fight goes awry when the matador gets trampled. Antonio, eager to play the Big Damn Hero, runs into the ring to distract the bull. It works insomuch that Tony (or rather, his stunt double with an awful hairpiece) gets gored and falls unconscious in the dirt. Regina and the rest of the crowd look on in horror.

Selene whines to Chema on the tennis court about his refusal to go out with her. "You must have so much in common with Coni, right? She could be your mother! Don't you realize you are nothing but a worthless brat to her?!" Chema tells Sele to stop snarking about him and Coni. She would never understand the relationship he has with Coni and he would *never* be interested in Sele.

A doctor debriefs Regina and Isidro on Antonio's condition. He is critical and needs to be moved to a more advanced hospital immediately. If they don't find a helicopter to transport Tony soon, he could die of his injuries. The hospital has no contacts, so it's up to Regi to find the transportation. (Yikes, is this a common occurrence or just a novela thing?) Isidro suggests they contact Gonzo but Regi is reluctant. "Tony's life depends on it!" Isidro reasons.

Gonzo's cell phone vibrates on a table without anyone noticing. Fina answers the house phone, which causes a few synapses to fire in Isidro's brain. He is instantly reminded of Pepa's screeching and wailing so many years before. "It's her, Regi!" Isidro says, giving the audience momentary hope. "It's Gonzo's wife." And our hope crashes with an audible thud.

Honorio helps Adriana pack her things for the move. Hon liked the idea that a noviazgo could have existed between Adri and Matias but that ship has sailed now that Mat is tied to Roberta. Adri starts to have misgivings about moving for that very reason. She isn't sure she can handle living so close to Matias and Berta.

Isidro asks to speak to Gonzo and Fina has an epiphany of her own. She too remembers him from her baby-snatching days. Fina nervously hands over the phone to Gonzo. Regi explains the situation to him. She pleads for his help and Gonzo agrees, no strings attached. Fina's claws come out when she overhears Gonzo mention Regi. She hisses and spits that Gonzo having any contact with Regi makes her feel awful. "No one has ever done as much harm to me as that woman!" Gonzo is not put off from helping an amiga in need.

Fina worries about having heard Isidro's voice over the phone but convinces herself that she is being paranoid.

Isidro is similarly unsettled after the titular phone call but he shrugs off Regi's questions about it.

Honorio convinces Adri to continue with their plans. Adri starts to worry about Renata since nobody has heard from her in such a long time. Nata has no idea that Matias and Berta are expecting a baby and are about to get hitched. It's going to be a major blow for her.

Isidro and Ines pack their things while Isidro gives Doña Cata the low-down over the phone. Without fail, Cata gets her feathers ruffled by the news that Gonzo donated the helicopter. Isidro voices his concern about PepaFina to Ines. Ines suggests they tell the detective to start investigating Fina to prove their suspicion. They make a pact to not mention a word of it to Regi or Cata.

Regi stands by an unconscious Tony's bedside. In the same room, the young bullfighter that Tony saved laments the sacrifice that Tony made to save him. Regi tells the young man not to blame himself; Tony reacted instinctively. Regi herself can't help feeling responsible for the entire thing since Tony had dedicated the match to her. Tony's bullfighter friend is afraid Tony might die or fall into a depression again. Regi has faith that Tony will pull through.

The doctor rushes into the room to announce that Gonzo's helicopter has arrived. A conveniently awake Tony asks Regi why Gonzo is involved. She stares at him with her soulful, sympathetic eyes.

Agustin helps a worse-for-wear Renata to have a seat in his office. Augie guarantees that he will have Nata's cell phone replaced. Nata is dying to hear news from home. Though she does not want to contact her parents yet. Nata doesn't want Fina to know that her marriage failed so quickly. Augie suggests that Nata call Adri at work to catch up. He even wants Nata to invite Adri to come visit at the hacienda for a few days. Nata questions what Arely thinks of the whole affair but Augie dismissively shrugs.

Tony thanks Gonzo for helping him out. Tony is grateful that Regi would prove her love for him by calling in such a favor from a friend. Gonzo looks downcast at such a territorial statement.

Fina vents to Berta about Regi's phone call. Of course she wants revenge and puts Berta up to doing it for her. Berta calls Gonzo to sob that something terrible happened to Fina.
"Boo hoo! Boo hoo! Fina was acting strangely and not talking sense and then she just disappeared!" Gonzo sets out for the house so they can start a search party. Fina feels vindicated. "He should suffer for treating me this way!" Berta agrees to play along with Fina's disgusting game of simulate the sickness. Viewerville can only hope that by the end of all this, Fina does end up roaming the streets crazy and mumbling incoherently about brain tumors.

Alfonsina can barely hold back tears when Arely finds her in the field. Arely guesses that Alfi is crying over the Doc. Alfi feels awful for what she did and has now lost all respect for the Doc. Alfi can't bear to tell Karina and Zeke the truth; they don't deserve the pain of it. She is going to feel guilty for the rest of her life. Arely gives Alfi a hug.

Doc drops in on Karina to have a serious talk. He wants a second chance. "A second chance to what? Mistreat me? To abuse your rights?" You tell him, Kari. This drunken, slimy buffoon doesn't deserve a minute of consideration. Doc swears he has stopped drinking and things will go back to the way they were when they first got married. "Promise me you will think about it? Without you, I am nothing." Unfortunately, she promises to think about it.

Nata muses how life can change so quickly. She never imagined she would end up spending so much time at Augie's. He is glad Nata is sticking around since the hacienda is going to host a very important festival soon. What with Jero's financial trouble, Nata figured there would be no way to fund the festival at La Bonita. Augie flat-out tells Nata that Jero lied to her; Jero is very rich. Augie can prove it. After all, Rafa bought the hacienda with Jero's money to begin with. Jero only took possession of the hacienda after Rafa died.

Nata's eyes widen in confused shock. She read two different letters that both claimed that Jero was broke! Augie hypothesizes that Jero must have lied about his wealth to prove that Nata did not want to marry him for his money alone. He must have been playing some kind of elaborate game. Arely interrupts, which gives Nata the excuse to leave the office. Augie chuckles to Arely that Jero has been concealing his wealth from Nata. It does not amuse Augie, however. It upsets him to see Nata so distraught.

Matias stops for tea at Constanza's. They discuss his impending doom, that is to say, his impending nuptials to Berta. Mat had hoped to get married out of love, full of expectations and emotions. Mat wants to have a marriage like that of Coni and Honorio's that survives both good times and bad. Little do they know how that union is about to be tested.

Adriana and Honorio arrive with the last of Adri's things. Coni hugs Adri warmly while the greeting between Mat and Adri is full of awkward glances. They have little time to small talk because Berta comes flying into the house unannounced. "Fina disappeared!" (Oh, if only it were true!)

Fina breaks her way into...someplace...and uses lipstick to write a message on a car. No doubt it belongs to Regina. Let's hope she didn't write "Redrum" all over it.

Jero and Nata's break up song plays as she re-reads Jero's ever-romantic letter. She recalls the last time he rejected her on the beach. "Who did I get married to? Who?"

Carlos and Jero talk cryptically about their master plan to get Nata back.

Antonio is taken away for the helicopter; he promises to survive to marry her. Gonzo comforts Regi. She feels guilty because Antonio is living for the promise of their future together. Regi is on the verge of confessing something to Gonzo but a television crew interrupts them. (LOL what?) The reporter sticks a microphone in Regi's face to hear about Tony's accident. Gonzo quietly excuses himself.

The Monterrubios relocate to the living room of Gonzo's house. Nobody has seen hide nor hair of Fina. Berta pointedly wraps herself in Matias's arms for comfort.

Nata naps as Karina tip-toes into the room. She places a blanket over Nata, who stirs. Kari helps Nata sit up and Nata asks Kari if Jero is rich. "Of course he is rich!" says Kari. Did you not know? "Jero is one of the poorest men. Money does not make a man rich." Nata sighs.

Jero peruses his finances on the computer. From the amount indicated on the screen, Jero is a billionaire. "What is this money worth if it won't keep you with me?" Meh. Ya should have thought that through before you started playing mind games, Jerko. My give a damn's busted where you're concerned.

Arely and Augie convince Nata to take her medicine. She appreciates their kindness. Once Nata is taken care of, Arely drags Augie off for a surprise.

Jero and Carlos evade Matilde's questions when she asks them where they are going so late at night.

Nata slips into bed wearing her orange nighty. Jeez if I had banged up ribs and a neck brace you wouldn't be able to get me out of sweatpants for a month.

Arely sits Augie down by the pool, where some wine and fruit has already been set out for them. Arely has on a nightie of her own and plans to make very good use of it.

Someone unlocks the gate at Augie's hacienda and sneaks in. Big surprise that the trespasser is Jero. He slinks into Nata's room and wraps her in a blanket. Nata, being heavily drugged, can only mumble for Jero to put her down. He takes no notice and scoops her up in his arms. Why do the men in this telenovela insist on treating Renata like cattle? It's getting old fast.

Jero doesn't get far with his precious cargo. He exits the bedroom to the welcoming presence of Ezequiel holding a shotgun in his face. Maybe Jero should have taken kidnapping lessons from Fina; he is dreadful at it.

Avances: Jero and Zeke have a stand off.
* Also, we're told that the show will air at 6 PM on Monday. I don't know if it's being preempted or is getting edged out of the schedule by Univision.

Vocab:

desenlace fatal - fatal outcome (possibly Tony's fate)
empacar - to pack
comprobar - to check (Augie wants to do this to Jero's finances)
retraso - delay (Arely to Augie)
involucrar - to involve (Jero to Carlos)

Happy 4th of July weekend to all recapers, commenters, and lurkers! Kick back and have a well-deserved margarita or two. Just be careful with the fireworks afterwards. ;)

Amy

Amy, you are a doll for posting so quickly. I WILL have a Margarita this weekend and when I do I'll think of my Caray Caray pals.

Hee...funny snarks on poor Tony.

I'm SO glad Chema dumped Sele and I liked he way he did it, "I could never be interested in you."

"And our hope crashes with an audible thud", crap I actually thought poor bald Isidro would spill it. Stupid me.

Amy, you really have a way with words and this is but one of the gems, "Gonzo looks downcast at such a territorial statement." Yep, you pretty much summed it up there. But there were so many more little treasures in your recap. Here is another:"My give a damn's busted where you're concerned." Well done amiga.

I felt sorry for poor Adriana, new to the family and come to find out they are a bunch of crazies.

I feel like a bad girl because I cheered when Ezequiel turned his gun on stupid can't-plan Jero.

Thanks Amy, I swear this was one of your best. You had a lot of good stuff to work with tonight and you definitely made the most of it.

Happy 4th everyone!!

A++++ this was a great re-cap!! I agree with your "my give a damn is busted" comment!! I also am pretty done with Jero. I hope they do something soon to redeem him. I guess we will have to suffer him for a while.

I do hope that some of the crap Fina has been dishing out starts getting coming back at here. I would like to see her squirm a little bit.

Do we think Antonio will bite it? It would make things easy for her and Gonzo, which is never how these things work. It would however really get under Fina's skin.

I almost forgot, have a wonderful and safe 4th of July everyone!!

And what the heck was Fina writing on someone's window with her lipstick? They only thing I have ever written on someone's window with lipstick was a heart and stupid love message. And guess what, people can recognize the color of lipstick. Just sayin'.

Jules, I don't think Tony will bite it because his long lost wife and kid are sure to turn up. He deserves that at least. He is one of the good (yet yawn...boring) guys.

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!

Amy- Wonderful as always! I was so glad that Renata found out yet another of Jero's secrets. Just another nail in his coffin. Much like I wish Fina actually gets a brain tumor, I hope Jero actually loses all his money, and has to go to Nata for help to keep the hacienda going. Wouldn't that be delicious? :)

Arely was funny in her seduction scene. Obviously she has never taken the lead before and it surprised Augie. She needs to take some seduction lessons from Nata, who has great technique, but has a dud of a man who can't appreciate it.

I have to give Jero and Arely credit for making sure Nata took the heavy duty drugs that would knock her out. The reason Kari felt comfortable leaving Nata for the night was because she had stopped taking the knock out drugs that made her unaware of what was happening around her (obviuosly thinking of the slimy Augi kisses). She looked like such a helpless rag doll in Jero's arms begging him to leave her. I'm rooting for Zeke and his gun too.

I thought it funny and so real to life when Nata admitted that she couldn't remember any of her contacts' phone numbers, except her home number, because they were all programmed into her lost cell phone. How true to life. I have to say the same. All I can remember are my own cell phone number, my parents' home, phone number, and an old boyfriends' phone number-- We dated for 5 years when I didn't have a cell phone, so I learned the number. Luckily, we're still friends, so it wouldn't seem strange if I called him in an emergency if I couldn't reach anyone else. :)

Enjoy the long weekend. Off to bake for the frist of three bbqs!

Amy...you quoted one of my favorite country songs..."My Give a Damn's Busted". It's going through my head right now.

The other phrase that tickled me was Regina looking at Tony with her "soulful sympathetic eyes". I have to admit, while the actress is lovely, I'm getting sick of those soulful sympathetic bovine-like eyes. As the part is written, she only has a few different looks to project, all tinged with wistful melancholy, and after a while, you want to gag. At least I do!

Still...those pensive looks are preferable to Fina's grotesque snarling faces. I keep wondering if her mouth is going to stay that way after the filming of this. She played such a nice lady in Pasión!

Well, for Arely's sake, I was glad Augustin didn't reject her seduction attempt, clumsy as it was (still...it IS hard to climb gracefully atop a guy on a deck chair...ever try it?)but looks like the rescue attempt is going to come a-cropper anyway.

Happy Fourth everyone. Hope Monday is clear and sunny. Right now it's rain thunder and lightning in good ol' Ohio. I had vague plans to pull weeds but ain't gonna happen. Looks like it's head to a movie day for us.

Awesome Amy! Last night just made me shake my head a couple dozen times - but then that's what TN are for:rattle the ole brain cells. I actually think these shows are healthy for us - exercises our reasoning and memory brain cells. (Yeah, I'm just looking for another excuse to justify my addiction. )

I too love your "my give a damn is busted". It is interesting that Jeer's is getting busted for his manipulations and is also realizing what a screw-up he made so early in the TN. As much as we would all like to see him drop-kicked to the nearest curb, I think all this is to move him into the "we like him" galan zone sooner rather than later, so I hold out some hope for the guy. Otherwise it would be hard to want he and Nata back together.

Ok, I think someone needs to tell Selene that when you're trying to snag a guy you don't go all postal on him. Not attractive. I was hoping Chema would give her a good backhand to the head to shut her up.

Betcha Fina was writing something on Gina's car regarding her lost daughter. Really starting to be sick of that snaky scowl of hers...

And why would Cata get her knickers in a bunch about Gonzo providing the helicopter. Gees, people, he's helping save the Boring's One's life. I also thought it strange that the family would have to find the transportation: no med-i-vac?? Very weird. Thinking TN ploy.

Betcha Jeers doesn't get far - you know Augie will come running. And he's got no backup to help.Wonder if Augie will surmise that Blondie helped?

Yep, Judy we've got the rain up here in Cleveland off and on all morning. But clearing tomorrow- woohoo. (Of course I'll be plastered against the TV tomorrow AM watching the Wimbledon final - but will hit the outside after.) Everyone have a great weekend!!!!

Happy Fourth, everyone!

Amy, thanks for a great & snarky recap -- and so fast too.

What makes Selene think she can cow Chema into going for her? She needs some lessons in seduction. ( Oh no! if she did that she might actually trap pretty eyes & he deserves better.)

I too can sympathize with Renata for not having any contact numbers without her cell phone. That really keeps her cut off.

I guess it's time for me to confess -- I'm still rooting for Jero. I know that his elaborate manipulative schemes are wacko -- but it is , after all, the entire premise of this TN. If he weren't torn between love & hate there wouldn't be any story. So I just suspend my disbelief & assume that his conflict makes sense. Then his actions are believable -- if misguided. Let's face it. If telenovela characters told the truth -- and stopped jumping to conclusions -- the stories would end in 5 episodes.

I'm surprised that so many things are coming out so soon. What do we have left -- more than a hundred episodes? Isidro's suspicions about Pepa/Fina seem like a big step toward catching her out.

Amy, thank you so much for clever recap and for having it up so fast.

Guera, I too am rooting for Jero. I believe that grief can cause people to do strange things, hence the hate. Jero and Renata are like rare earth magnets from the first time they met. It is going to be difficult to keep the two apart.

I hope you are correct and Isidro is the one to help bring Fina down.

Zeke disappointed me, I wish he had looked the other way. Didn't anyone clue him in on the plan?

All of you that are getting an abundance of rain, please send some to Houston - we have had less than an inch since the first of the year. We are going to look like the Mojave Desert before long.

Happy 4th!

Rosemary

Amy, Amy, Amy, I think you have made "my give a damn is busted" the dicho of the day and just maybe a new catch phrase. I have several situations going on now where that just fits perfecto. When I finally stopped laughing, not at you of course, but in cheering you, it reformed in my head as the line "TIIIIN roof is RUSTED!" in the B52's Love Shack song: My GIIIIVE a damn is BUSTED!--Wonderful recap as well.

In the Jero and Zeke standoff, did I not see Carlos with Jero at La Bonita prior to Jero 'breaking in' Cruz de Amor? So MAYbe, Carlos is standing behind Zeke with a weapon of mass destruction on him---I talked to my husband last night, and of COURSE he refuses to tell me if my suspicions were correct. LOL

I checked my TV grid and it seems the show is on for 2 hours on Monday.

Happy 4Th of July Y'all!

Amy, you hit it out of the park!! Thank you for smiles, chuckles and outright belly-laughs this morning. I'm also a closet Jero fan. If only he wasn't so stooooopid.

Put me in the hate bullfights club. I'm reading Mexico by James Michener - lots of history and descriptions of bullfights, matadors, etc. It's very interesting but only reinforces my dislike for the 'sport.'

Happy 4th, everybody! Enjoy the fireworks. We have gotten so wimpy that we watch 'em on tv. We don't do crowds and especially heat very well. We will raise a beer to you all. And pray for rain for Houston, and all of Mew Mexico and Arizona.

Yeah, I put myself in the same mode as Regina & Carlos. When I see Jero do something stooopid I say- I love you like a brother and I'll support you but shouldn't you rethink this????

Judy, you've figured me out! I was thinking of that song when I used the quote in my recap. It just seems appropriate!

Great idea, Vivi! I would love it if a newly-broke Jero had to grovel at Nata's feet in order to keep the hacienda. Karmic justice would be so sweet.

Valeena, I think you're right. Carlos has to be on the scene somewhere. He was part of the plan, no matter how bad it was.

Fina is going to get caught one of these days if she keeps being so sloppy. Lipsticking Regi's car and pulling all these little acts of villainy seems pretty pathetic on the grand scale of evil deeds. But at least it keeps her from reaching for the knives again.

Sele needs to take a long walk off a short pier where Chema is concerned. He's just not that into you, chica.

Amy

Amy, I haven't gotten to the margarita yet, but this recap is every bit as refreshing.

My profa and I are reading Don Quijote and in it is the story of Grisóstomo, a handsome shepherd who fell in love with a beautiful shepherdess named Marcela. She rejects him, he kills himself, and his friends turn on her and blame her for his death (sound familiar?).

Fortunately Cervantes, unlike the writers of this TN, gave her an opportunity to defend herself... then moved on.

Güera, Rosemary, and Emilia,

I applaud you ladies standing by your man. I'm going to stick with this to see how he is able to straighten this mess out and will no doubt tearfully join you in cheering for him when he finally gets it all together.

Meintras tanto, I think the thing that irks me the most (and there are many to chose from) is his avowed disdain for lies and deceit all the while...

Carlos is certainly a loyal friend to go along with this hare-brained abduction scheme. I'm doubting that he's packin' any weapons of mass destruction.

I am, however, looking forward to seeing Renata proudly astride the regal Gitana riding through the vineyard. That should be enough to send the freaky Augie over the edge.

Carlos

Floresdeazul! Thank you so much! Ah, too many astute and funny observations to mention. I am hopeful, though about Ines and Isidrio's insight and plan to alert the detective to investigate Fina! Yes! They replace Hon and Con as the united couple, the voice of reason!

"Tony is grateful that Regi would prove her love for him by calling in such a favor from a friend." Never to down to mark your territory, hunh Tony?

Even though he is pervy, at least Nata is learning some truths at Auggie Doggie's joint!

"Why do the men in this telenovela insist on treating Renata like cattle." Yah, she's pretty much been in the middle of a tug of war after leaving mommy dearest at hell hacienda. He's even designed his own brand carved into the tree of luuurv. Didn't Jerkoff kiss her in her pain-killer stupor?

Well, all I can say is at least we have some balance in the objectification of Renata (and other women), that would be how Gonzo and Mati get jerked around by Fina and her spawn. These poor stiffs: other men in their position can be accused of being p-whipped, these poor devils are just whipped!

Lila

Awww, c'mon Khalila, tell us how you really feel! Actually, I agree with you, I just can't put it into your great writing.

Remember in Soy tu Duena where we HATED the heroine for most of the tn? Wonder how SN would have handled that part... We had to hate the heroine - whose going to hate Colunga?

Carlos, I agree with you about Chema. He has bothered me from the beginning. Forgive me Judy, et al. but I don't even like his eyes.

oops, grammar police.... Who's gonna...

Hey Emilia..It's not me who's raving about Chema's eyes. That must be Julia. I DO wish I had eyelashes like his though. I could save a lot of money on mascara.

Emilia! Yes, I DO remember hating the heroine -- oh how I pissed and moaned. You know what amigos, I know "we're all sensitive people with so much to give" and we come here for brushing up our Spanish, fun, comraderie and we end up

wishing people would die in childbirth. . .

wander the streets with incurable brain tumors mumbling incoherently. . .

be gored to death or disability by bulls. . . .

eat buckshot. . .

or just have the bejeezus slapped out of them. . . .

It's not our fault, we want to love the galan and leading ladies, really we do!

So here we are, seeking refuge in one another. . .it's fun but oh for a ripped , loveable galan in a shower, a pool, even a rainstorm. . .sigh. . .

Lila

I remember when I first watched this episode (on line), it really burned me up that Jero would plan this kidnapping, ignoring his wife's injuries and having Areli drug her. Really disgusting. He only seems to care about possession and his supposed "husbandly rights". Not for a minute does he seem to have consideration for his wife.

Audrey

Flores--You had me at "We have two mission imposibles tonight..." I was still laughing all the way to "Maybe Jero should have taken kidnapping lessons from Fina; he is dreadful at it."

Great way to start a weekend, you're right.

I kinda knew Jero wasn't going to make it out with his package (wrapped in a quilt???). But I didn't expect it to be Zeke that stands in the way.

That Fina--she just can't pass up a chance to be mean and nasty to Gonzo. She's a good teacher, though. Berta is on the fast-track to learning the fine art of deception.

The lastest dirty trick is certainly devious. What is she going to do, wander around, show up again with every hair and eye liner in place and swear she doesn't know where she's been? Poor Gonzo.

I kinda like the new Adri. She seems more like the type of girl Matias would fall in love with (eventually) AND she doesn't have to wear pink eye shadow or sky-high heels.

I'm reading a novel where the alledged killer sleeps with a manequin dressed in black panties. This is what I wish for Dr. SlimeyRapey for the rest of his days. Karin--stay away from him.

Drat. Antonio is still alive. But so is cutie protege. Wonder if we will see him again.
NOK

Amy, thanks, and Happy 4th to you all!

My observation last night was that it appears that Jessica Coch is having almost as much fun playing Roberta as Azela Robinson did playing Fedra in Llena de Amor. Guess villainy is a hoot.

Thank you Floresdeazul for the recap. Loved it.

What, no medivac services in Mexico City? Por favor!!

Also, in terms of the amount of Jero's finances that showed on the computer monitor, don't forget to move the decimal point to the left in terms of pesos to dollars. No doubt he's a millionaire, but not a billionaire.

I was rewatching some old plays on youtube and remembered that Rocío Banquells played the main role in the Mexican version of Mamma Mia. Here's Rocío during the moment of "the winner takes it all" in case anybody would like to see her playing a different part.

Jarocha

Dona Gringuita- Unless those are Euros (which I suspect since all his biz in in Spain).

Hey Jarocha. Are you happy to be home?

Wow, thanks Jarocha. How weird to see "Fina" singing!

Lila

Vivi: Yes! I'm enjoying a little peace and quiet with my family in Veracruz. And the weather has been so nice thanks to a tropical storm hehe. Mexico City was a little chilly and rainy, I go back there in august.

Jarocha

Lila: I know it must be odd. But she has a nice voice.

Jarocha

Thanks for that link, Jarocha. So many of the telenovela actors are great singers. Even in that number though, I saw a little of the
Fina ferocity. Well-sung though.

Floresdeazul great and awesome recap.

So how is this kidnapping supposed to work even if he manages to get Renata back to La Bonita is he going to keep her under lock and key since she doesn't want to see him now?

It's obvious that Selene has never read the rules book on how to attract the man of your choice. I'm pretty sure ranting and raving like a crazy out of control stalking harpy to the object of your desire is not among the rules to abide by.

Evil mother and her hell spawn are two peas in a pod pobre's Gonzo and Matias. I hope that even though Adriana's is upset that Matias is marrying Roberta she will find out that he's not really the baby's daddy and get him the heck out of this disastrous marriage.

Of course the biggest one who needs to be unmask is Fina boy there is never any down time for Fina is there?

Yeah Carlos went with Jerko on operation kidnap my drugged up wife even though she doesn't want to see me. He might be around real close and surprise a unsuspecting Ezekiel.

Blu--If Carlos is there and helps Jeero make his escape, what will Auggie do to Arely? I fear for her--he will come to the (right) conclusion that it was an "inside" job and without Karin there to blame, it leaves Arely.
NOK

Someone mentioned it earlier, but I wanted to confirm. CME will be on for two hours tomorrow starting at 6pm. None of the other evening novelas will be on Uni.

Newbie there's no telling what Auggie might do to spare girl, but he won't be happy with this betrayal.

Thank you for a great recap flresdeazul. This is my second TN; LFMB was my first. I'm still watching this TN because of the witty and funny recaps as well as the interesting take from commenters. I'm still holding out for Jero to be redeemed and was thinking that a way to do that would be to use him as the catalyst for the downfall of Fina.
I'm curious if the formula for a novela is to make the evil characters create chaos and hurt until the end of the show and then give them their just reward in the end? I need some relief from hurrincanes Fina and Roberta. Does anyone think that Fina could be working with Blanca? Someone mentioned earlier that Coni and Honorio were suspicious of Fina. Since she is so petty, I wouldn't be surprised if she's working with Blanca. Happy 4th of July everyone.
Tasha

Tasha, I'm very glad that you joined in on the discussion. I've been really puzzled about Blanca. I really like your theory that she could be an ally of Fina. What a clever twist that would be. I've been very troubled by just about every detail regarding Blanca. Fri. I asked:

"Who is she? Where did she come from? What does she want? Why is she even here?"

It never even occurred to me that she might be working with Fina. I guess perhaps because Fina just seems like such an antisocial misfit, it seemed unlikely.

If Blanca were really interested in winning over Honorio, she would have been more seductive and not have resorted to the knockout drops quit so quickly.

She's certainly more frightening as an obsessed stalker, but as an agent of Fina, everything seems to make more sense.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. It was hot and dry here. We were teased with thunder and a few drops of rain both Sat. and Sun. afternoons but then... nada. Rosemary, I hope that you are in an area that actually got significant rain over the weekend.

Carlos

Carlos, nada - we didn't even have thunder or drops of rain.

I agree with you and Tasha about Blanca. It would make sense for her to be in cahoots with Fina. Nothing else fits, so far. Is she one of Fina's paid employees?

Rosemary

Rosemary, I have a patient in the hospital who lives in Spring whose wife told me that they got 2" of rain Sat. and my daughter who live about 8 miles north of here said that they also got a very good rain on Sat. Oh well, there's a slight chance again today.

So sorry you all haven't had rain in the west. Mother Nature has given us beautiful days and stormy nights the last few days. Hopefully all will be clear tonight for the fireworks.

Jero could take some lessons on how to treat his wife from Padre Hottie in TDA, here playing opposite Silvia N. in Count of Montecristo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRFxjuSYkXk&feature=related

Vivi--I couldn't pull up your particular clip, but boy oh boy, I got a scene with Padre Hottie taking a shower, all wet and shiny (find Yo te amo a ti--el compromiso II by Alexy17). Love the long hair--he looks like for all the world like an FC, Jr. (not a clone or a twin, mind you, but close enough).

We get TWO hours of CME starting at 6, according to my Comcast on-line guide--whoowee.

Jarocha, THANK YOU for the Mamma Mia link! It's fun to see Rocio in a very different role. Plus I love Mamma Mia and all the songs in it.

Vivi, sigh, loved the link. That guy sure is a cutie pie.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was out of wi-fi range until last night but am certainly enjoying catching up on everyone's clever comments this morning.

By the way, I love Tasha's theory about Fina being the puppet master behind Blanca Ocampo.
