Teresa Fri 7/1/11 #90 It’s Rehash Friday – The day everyone rehashes their stories.

Recap of Teresa arriving at her home crying hysterically that she’s just been assaulted! Da-da-dum! Her purse was stolen! She’s so scared! Oh, did I mention the Euros were stolen as well? Good, then on we go.

Vecindad: FF>> scene: Everyone painting. Payaso Johnny excited because with his work driving the taxi, delivering Gemma’s sandwiches, and managing the vecindad will surely bring in good money. Pati thinks she can help with managing the vecindad. Johnny and Cutberto tease her about this.

Back at Casa Barrera: Luisa asks Amadeo the accountant to leave seeing as Teresa is in no condition to talk about business. She’s so distraught, doncha know. Armando offers to stay with her. Arturo comes rushing in. He sure got there super-fast. She’s really turned on the water works, telling him they took everything, including all the money he gave her for their trip. Arturo’s only glad she’s ok and that she wasn’t hurt. The rest doesn’t matter. Luisa walks Armando to the door, telling him her brother will be sure to care for Teresa. Armando hopes Arturo won’t make the same mistake again. (I thought this was an awkward time to bring that up. Just saying.) Luisa assures him Arturo will never make that mistake again and would do anything for her.

At the hospital, TibOriana has arrived at Mariano’s office, saying she’s come for a physical. This woman is so rude and such a metiche (meddling)! Before she visits the cardiologist, she wants him to know she knows all about his relationship with Teresa and Arturo, and everything that happened at the boda! He assumes this means she’ll no longer want to support his clinics. Nothing of the kind, she intends to be true to her word and promises he’ll have the social level he needs so badly to help his clinics.

Mayra, Aida, and Genoveva are working into the evening at Ruben’s office. Aida tells mom that she’s working on getting Mariano away from the vecindad, forget about Esperanza and Teresa, and forget about everything in his past. Mayra feels that would be best for everyone. Geno complains he’s wary about opening a line of credit. Aida explains he already bought a car on credit and doesn’t want to take on more debt without knowing for certain he can make both payments. Mayra thinks this is great. Geno comes up with this gem: “Ay que tener lo que se deba aunque se deba lo que se tiene.” (play on words, translated: one needs to have what one is owed even though one owes what one has) Aida says Mariano’s not like that; es muy ahorrativo (thrifty) y muy previsor (prudent). (Two new words for me) He insists on staying within his budget (presupuesto) and that’s probably why Oriana liked him. Mayra reacts, wondering if she’s talking about Oriana, viuda (widow) de Gijarro! Aida explains they met at el Club and even offered her support for his clinics. Aida’s happy about this as she’s sure it will thoroughly enrage Teresa!

Casa Barrera: Teresa is still a bit weepy, thanking Arturo for being so considerate and thoughtful. She thought he’d surely be angry because of the money lost. Oh, pshaw, he says. This could’ve happened to anyone. What’s important is that she’s safe. She continues to cry over the possibilities, thinking they could’ve taken her rings or her car! Again, he’s happy she’s safe and when she’s feeling better, they’ll go file a police report. Wait, what? Um, she was so scared she can’t even remember what he looked like. Arturo insists, saying she knows they have to file a report.

Back at the hospital, Mariano is grateful for Oriana’s help but he wants to avoid any problems with Arturo. Oriana says she’ll take care of that and thinks they can help each other. She wants him to tell her about his relationship with Teresa. He tells her that’s in the past and doesn’t wish to speak about it. Oriana takes this to mean he must still feel something for Teresa. He did try to stop the wedding, after all. He’s a smart guy, he had to have a good reason to do something so stupid. That’s what she wants to know. What gave him the nerve (valor=courage) to do that? He reminds her that caballeros have no memory. That’s all in the past and he now has eyes only for Aida. She sees he is discreet and this pleases her so she’ll help him. He politely declines her support saying she’s doing so only to get info from him that he’s not willing to divulge. On the contrary, she says, precisely because he was so dignified in his response, she feels he is deserving of the support for his clinics.

Vecindad: Armando stops by Johnny’s and Pati’s future apt and comes face to face with Ramon. There’s an awkward moment and Juana suggests it’s time they let bygones be bygones. Everyone chimes in and they go into another room to talk. They both agree they will continue to stand by their respective offspring but also want to remain friends.

Casa Barrera: Arturo and Teresa arrive from their visit to the police . He asks that she allow him to spend the night, promising he’ll just sleep by her side. She refuses and he agrees to spend the night in the guest room. Nice try, bucko. She tells him he really is a good man then climbs the stairs, leaving our hero sighing. Poor dude.

In the morning, Teresa shares her tragic assault story with Amadeo, the accountant. She wants him to teach her father basic accounting skills while she’s on vacation with her hubbie. She explains she wants her father to be able to help her organize her paperwork and also be of some help to Amadeo at the office. Amadeo agrees and Teresa promises she’ll compensate him for his efforts. He hesitates, saying Arturo already pays his salary. Teresa says one always needs more money. There’s nothing wrong with earning more money, so long as it’s done honestly. Amadeo shifts uncomfortably in his seat. She quotes, “Ante el arca abierta, hasta el más justo peca.” (loosely= before an open coffer, even the most honest will sin).
He gulps.

Vecindad: Mariano’s glad Ramon and Armando had a chance to talk things over. Ramon shares there were over 25 years of friendship at risk. He feels now is the time when Mariano most needs to stay away from Teresa. Mariano says there’s no need to worry and besides, she’s going on a trip with her husband. Ramon feels this is best for everyone. Mariano tells him about meeting Oriana, who is a very wealthy woman. Unfortunately, she’s tight with Arturo and Luisa. She wants to support the clinics but doesn’t want them to know about it and he’s not sure he should accept. Ramon says nothing good comes of keeping things in the dark. Mariano knows, but the clinics desperately need funding. Dad advises him to remember the truth is always best. Siempre.

Casa Barrera: Teresa continues to torture poor Amadeo, telling him a story about a “friend” of hers who knew of an accountant who became aware of his employer’s embezzling of millions. The employer offered said accountant an embarrassing amount of money to keep quiet. Amadeo, still shifting in his seat asks if she thinks the accountant did wrong by remaining silent. She doesn’t want to judge anyone but she does know that the accountant was very clever (listo) and asked the employer for much more money in exchange for his silence. In the end, the accountant did good things with the money: paid university costs for his children, he and his wife live well, etc. It’s always possible to ask for more. It may not have been the best way to go about things but the end justifies the means. (El fín justifica los medios) Amadeo gulps again as Teresa spins her pen, metaphorically toying with him.

Genoveva’s house. Ruben has asked Amadeo to suggest to Mayra that she take an accounting class to keep her away from the office. Geno likes the idea, saying it will provide them more time with each other. Geno thinks he must be fed up with Mayra. He says somewhat. With Mayra gone, he’ll have more time to cover the embezzlement (desfalco). He’s in urgent need of cash and is impatient for the completion of the Luna Turqueza construction. As soon as they get the ok from Fernando, he wants Geno to be ready to advertise presales of the condos. She doesn’t want him to be so stressed about this then wonders if he can stay awhile. Smoochies. Ugh.

Casa Barrera: Madame Oriana Budinski tells Art&Tere she knows all about the scandal at the boda and therefore thinks she shouldn’t offer her support to Mariano. Art&Tere both agree. She addresses Arturo when she says she’d do anything for him. She leaves the room and Tere is in a huff. Arturo explains it’s just that she’s known him since he was a child. He’s sure she’ll come around once she gets to know her. He can’t wait until their trip so they can get away from all this. She pouts and says she’s not sure about being alone with him on that trip. She doesn’t know what will happen. He tells her he’ll dedicate himself to winning her back.

Ruben’s office: Ruben and Amadeo chat about Mayra’s accounting course. Ruben wants to make sure she’s occupied in something that will take months. He wants her away from the office. Amadeo is sure he can make that happen……but he wants more money. Ruben is furious, asking if Amadeo is loco. He’s already given him more than enough. Amadeo stands firm, saying he needs more or he’ll start squawking! Boo! Mayra walks in just then and insists he tell her everything right here and now!

Fernando’s apt: Mom has come for a visit and Fer thanks her for not helping Mariano. He proceeds listing all the reasons he hates Mariano. She takes a call and agrees to meet someone.

Back at Ruben’s office, Amadeo starts acting as though he’s gonna spill the ol’ frijoles but Ruben stops him. Ruben tells Mayra Amadeo wants more money for taking Aida and her under his wing. The subject changes to the accounting course and Mayra tells him she still hasn’t made up her mind. Ruben asks Amadeo to leave them alone to talk. He feels she will be able to see to her finances if she’s better prepared. He wonders if she doesn’t have enough confidence in him to leave him alone at the office. He doesn’t want her to have doubts. She tells him not to worry, she’ll take the class. But the rest of her time will be spent at the office. He acts as though he’s so happy to hear that, supposing this means she trusts him. Well, she says. It’s true she needs to start seeing to her own business and he to his but if she can’t, then they’ll have to determine what needs to be done. She promises to try and he promises he’ll come through for her.

Vecindad: Everyone’s at Refugio’s. They talk of the upcoming wedding and all the plans. They rush Johnny off so he won’t see the bride.

Back at Ruben’s office, he and Mayra are sucking face when Amadeo breaks them up. Ruben asks Amadeo to take care of his wife’s studies. She excuses herself, throwing air kisses to Ruben as she leaves. As soon as she’s out the door, Ruben begins yelling at Amadeo who apologizes but he needs more money. Ruben says he’s received more than enough. Amadeo says it doesn’t begin to compare with what Ruben embezzled. Ruben relents but tells him not to take it too far (no abuses). He can’t get his hands on any money until the completion of Luna Turqueza. He suddenly has a bright idea and asks if Amadeo would like a luxury condo in Cancún.

Casa Barrera: Arturo arrives with yet another floral arrangement. He wanted to deliver them personally to see the smile on her face. Hidden in the arrangement is a book of traveler’s checks. He feels stupid to have given her the Euros in cash, putting her at risk. He then tells her that since she’s going on the trip at his invitation, she won’t need the money anyway. He plans on granting her every whim.

Vecindad: Mariano is trying to calm down Johnny. He’s really nervous about the boda and making Pati happy after everything she sacrificed to be with him. Mariano tells him he doesn’t know how lucky he is to have such a girlfriend, he should appreciate her. Johnny assures him he does.

Cutberto arrives at Juana’s on the pretext of asking if she needs help with anything for the wedding. They look at each other longingly as they talk. Just as Cutberto is making his move by placing a flower in her hair, Pati rushes in showing off her wedding gown. FF>>

At the hospital Hernan (sigh) and Hector talk about the wedding. Hector will arrive late because he has an appt with Arturo regarding his divorce. Hernan assures him that if Juana cares for him, she’ll wait and also recommends that he continue his efforts even though Cutberto seems to be always present. Hernan is going to be there for Esperanza. He tells Hector he is going to continue to pursue her. Espe knows how he feels and it would be absurd for him to deny it. He can’t forget her and being away did nothing to help him forget. Therefore, he will continue to enjoy her company while she makes up her mind.

Vecindad – Espe and Refugio are busy with wedding preparations. Espe hopes they’ll be happy. Johnny arrives wearing a suit borrowed from Ramon (I think). Pati comes out and they happily greet each other. Cutberto and Juana are thrown together and she asks where his girlfriend is. He’s solo and notices she is too. She tells him Hector will be there later. Aurora arrives and everyone gets busy taking pictures. When Mariano arrives, he and Aurora comment on the happy couple. He tells her Aida won’t be coming because of Espe which Aurora thinks is understandable. He notices she’s still sad and suggests she go after Martin. He doesn’t know what else he can do to console her. Mariano suggests he can send Martin a message telling him to come here. Aurora doesn’t think that’s a good idea because he loves her but she’s still unsure. He wonders if it has to do with their conversation the other day. She tells him again that she doesn’t feel the same way about him anymore. She excuses herself and runs away from him. He doesn’t know what to do with himself and wanders back into the living room where everyone is taking pictures of the bride and groom. Juana finds Aurora crying in the bedroom. Aurora lies and says she’s a sentimental fool and is crying because she misses Martin. Juana knows there something she’s not saying. Aurora tells Juana she likes Martin very much but she can’t return his love because she’s been in love with someone else for some time. Juana guesses it’s Mariano and Aurora admits it. She loves him but he’s seeing Aida and she’d be incapable of getting between a couple.

Oh lordy, Oriana and Aida are at the club and Aida is dishing the dirt on Teresa, talking about her being an arribista, claiming she was rich in la prepa, etc. And now Arturo is blinded by her charms. Oriana observes that when men fall in love, they don’t think with their head. Wait, what? HA-HA! Aida tells her how she feels about Teresa - that she’s a RRRRRRRRata de Vecindad. She explains to Oriana how she came to be involved with Mariano, that she initially did it to get back at Teresa. She lists Mariano’s virtues, nothing like la Rata de Vecindad. Oriana repeats her story that Mariano is refusing her help for the clinics due to her relationship with Arturo. However, she wants to keep her word and will make some well placed calls that will open doors for him. However, she wants it to appear that it was Aida who made the calls.

Back at Juana’s, Aurora continues her tale of unrequited love, saying she’s loved Mariano since their University days; he loved Teresa; she stepped aside and ran away to France. Since Teresa’s marriage, she’s tried to tell him of her feelings but something always got in the way having to do with Teresa. She finally got fed up with his love for Teresa. Time passed and now he’s with Aida. Juana bristles at the mention of Aida’s name. Aurora tells her Aida has done nothing to her (Aurora) and they’re friends. Plus, Aida makes Mariano happy and is helping him forget Teresa. Juana sees this is true although he doesn’t seem to be as in love as he was with Teresa. Aurora feels there nothing left but to step aside again and continue to repress her feelings.

Hernan arrives bearing gifts and is confused when Johnny tells him they won’t be living together yet. (I’m also confused. QTH?) Mariano explains they’re following Refugio’s advice. Go figure.

Back at the club, Oriana sits back while Aida makes a call to a potential donor. Oriana says this is just the first of many. Aida tells her Mariano’s project is very worthy and he’s not the only one Oriana is helping. Oriana sees how determined Aida is. Now if she can only unmask Teresa, they’d also be able to help Arturo. She loves Arturo like a son. A woman like Teresa can not only ruin him, she can destroy him!

Back at the wedding, Ramon arrives and greets Johnny as his socio (partner). He explains to Refugio he is now partners in “El Huarache Veloz” and explains he can make deliveries as far as Acapulco. (Oh no!) The judge arrives and we are having a wedding but not before Juana and Aurora share a few more thoughts. Juana wishes Mariano would be with Aurora. She’s sure that if they’d hooked up, he would have surely forgotten Teresa. Aurora’s not so sure. Mariano comes in to tell them the judge is here. Juana explains Aurora’s crying because she misses Martin. She leaves to see about the wedding, leaving Mariano alone with Juana. He hates seeing her so sad and hugs her.

At Genoveva’s house, Ruben is complaining about Amadeo’s threats. And now he blames her for getting him involved in Luna Turqueza. It’s because of this investment that he’s now in the hole. Geno says they must think of a way to keep Amadeo at bay and Ruben agrees.

Back at the wedding: the judge begins the ceremony when buzzkiller Grumpy Granpa appears. Pati thinks he’s come to join them. He tells her she is sadly mistaken. He has come to give her one last opportunity to avoid making a terrible mistake. Pati tells him she intends to marry Johnny no matter what he says. Granpa assures her she will be very, very unhappy. He storms out with Espe and Hernan trailing him. Espe chases after him telling him he has no right to speak to his granddaughter that way. Hernan pipes in saying she’s getting married and all he’s doing is hurting her. Espe assures him her brother is a good, honest, hardworking man. Granpa is convinced she’ll come running to him in a few days begging him to give Johnny work. Hernan tells him Johnny already has a job, she’ll want for nothing. Granpa vehemently disagrees and claims Johnny stole his granddaughter, the one thing he loves most in life. Espe tries to calm him down and suggests he return with them to the wedding. Nothing doing. One day he’ll win her back. He lost his own daughter to another pelado (ne’er do well) but he will recover Pati. He runs off (which is no small feat for the old codger) and Hernan tries to console Espe. Upstairs, Johnny proclaims undying love for Pati and vows to make her happy. Espe and Hernan come back in and the judge says he needs to proceed with the wedding.

Casa Barrera: Oriana has come to see Arturo and is happy to find that Teresa is not there. She point blank asks if Teresa’s hesitation to reconcile has anything to do with Dr. Mariano Sanchez.

Vecindad: Teresa and Aida meet outside and trade insults. Teresa says Mariano will never forget her and Aida tells her not to be surprised if she hears Mariano wants to marry her (Aida). Teresa’s sure he’ll never marry her especially if Teresa remains unmarried after her trip. In fact, just to bug her, she may just decide to go through with the divorce. If that were to happen, how many more minutes does Aida suppose Mariano will stay with her?

Casa Barrera: Arturo tells Oriana she doesn’t yet know the whole story. It’s true he can’t abide that tipo and thinks he’s still in love with Teresa. However, Arturo’s to blame for Teresa filing for divorce. He admits he was unfaithful to Teresa with Paloma. While Oriana doesn’t agree with his infidelity he surely must have had his reasons. It’s possible getting back with Paloma could have been the best thing for him. Arturo is exasperated. Fine, she says, she won’t say anymore. She only asks that during their trip, he should continue to ask himself this question: Did Teresa put aside love in order to get out of poverty?

Vecindad: Aida is very happy Oriana discovered what a rata de vecindad Teresa is. Too bad she didn’t record their conversation so Arturo could finally realize she only married him for money. Thanks for the warning, says Teresa. She tells Aida to give up because she always surpasses her in everything: beauty, intelligence, and cunning (astucia). No! says Aida, more than cunning, Teresa’s a slut (zorra)and thanks to that, she’s going on that trip with Arturo, to see all those places she otherwise never would have been able to visit. It has nothing to do with love. What would Arturo say if he were to know what Teresa just told her? Teresa says she was serious. She’s going because Arturo begged her. She can still cancel the trip and tell Mariano she’s leaving it all for him. Then they’ll see who he’ll choose.

WHOA! Hold the phone! Armando comes out of nowhere demanding to know what she’s just said. He’s waiting for an answer as we leave them for the weekend.

Happy Fourth everyone and be safe in your celebrations!

Today's episode was really frustrating for me. If Aurora rehashes her story one more time about not being able to return Martin's love, I'll scream!

And how many times did Oriana say she was/wasn't going to help Mariano? Fernando, Arturo rehashed their version of what happened between Arturo, Teresa, Mariano.

I shouldn't complain. This TN has been pretty good and the characters usually surprise me but I guess a slow period was inevitable where they have to shift and lay out the storyline for upcoming events. I haven't had to use my beanie so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am very concerned about Ramon getting involved with Huarache Veloz. I don't care what happens to Johnny but nothing better happen to Ramon.

Anhyone else think some harm will come to Amadeo? He seems to be a throwaway character. Will Geno or Ruben contract someone to hurt him? Eeek!

Anyhoo, have a safe weekend everyone.

I hate to base speculation on stereotypes, but considering Manuel Landeta's casting history I can easily believe that Ruben might look for a contract killer to whack Amadeo. Despite this being Episode 90 with no actual murder yet.

Mama Tiburona is relentless! I was the victim of someone like her years ago but I was no Teresa. I wish Oriana good fortune, as I think it will take someone like her to take Teresa down.

Frances, you made a quiet episode fun! Your understated asides are wonderful and great picture of YOU... thanks so much!

Speaking of photos, UA, is that Pablo Montero in your photo? If it isn't, it is someone who looks just like him!

Blu, I'm with you, I just can't imagine that Aida and Mariano will last!  Please let our saintly Aurora stop crying and start STRUTTING HER STUFF, he's a guy isn't he?!?! Mariano and Aida aren't really committed yet!!!!

The one very good thing in last night's episode, Madame Oriana Budinski (good one, France!) took better aim in the direction of Teresa, she planted a tiny seed of doubt in Arturo's mind, did Teresa marry him for money? He and Luisa have had many moments when they stifled reason to go along with Teresa, those doubts need to be tapped. Paloma, RIP, made inroads, but died before she could do real shark damage. Teresa will hang herself, if you just open everyone's eyes, no low down insults needed!  Just help Arturo see the chum he has become, it is all there in front of them!!!!! Oriana, score one for you!

OT: Yes, Sandy, that is Pablo Montero in the photo with me. He was giving private invitation concerts sponsored by a client of the company I worked for at the time and my colleagues and I got VIP seating. The bouquet got us a backstage pass... and it got me 3 kisses from him. I didn't sleep for a week after that.

This guy cleans up like a fairy-tale prince so it bugs me that his last two novelas had him looking like he never got off the farm.

UA, WOW! You have so many good stories to tell, have you ever considered writing a book?

PM is very handsome and sings too!

There is also a story about the photo itself.

It was taken by a friend who lives in my building. She took about a half dozen pictures with a film camera and put it in the drugstore at the end of the following week when she finished the roll. That was in October 2003.

I didn't see or hear from her for several weeks (she's a nurse with weird hours) and when I finally saw her on Christmas Eve on my way out of the building she told me that the drugstore had lost the film and she was too embarrassed to tell me. She had apparently submitted the film on the eve of the takeover of our drug chain by a larger one. I told her it was no biggie.

When the pictures were three weeks overdue the store clerk was very apologetic but my friend said "OMG, what am I going to tell my friend?"

Clerk: "What was in the pictures?"

Friend: "My friend was being kissed by Pablo Montero."

Clerk: "Ay, dios mio!"

The envelope was found in February. Only two of the pictures came out, but that was enough. Someone else had taken candid photos that she later gave to me.

This story definitely points to the value of digital cameras.

Fantastic recap Paquita! Actually made the episode more interesting. Not sure why, but last couple episodes have been a bit blah to me...I guess we have to go through these e ndless talking, rehashing episodes because of Mama arriving on the scene.

Speaking of Mama, I like that she's going to help Mariano, not sure I love the idea that it will look like Aida is doing the deeds because it will make Mariano stay with Screechy all the longer. Her reaction to Art's admitting he was unfaithful was almost funny. Like hey, no big deal. She reaaaaallllyyy has it out for our Terror doesn't she?

The writers are turning Aurora into milquetoast and I'm sick of it. Give this woman back her spine and give her some fierceness.

So Terror is going to move her father into the business - what to make it look like any cooking of the books would be his fault? That deserves her a special place in hell if that's her plan.

I totally missed the advice of "Refuse-to-be-a-wife" for awhile to Johnni and Pati. WTH? Why get married? What is it with this woman...love to know the history of her early marriage. Gees.

And UA, love your pic too!! Woo, such hotness!
Enjoy the weekend everyone!!

Great recap Paquita! So funny Madam Budinski. I really thought she actually told him she'd give him money for his dispensario if he dished out the dirt about Tere. I guess she was more subtle than that, Mar rebuffed her politely, anyhow.
I'm tired also of Aurora being a big blob of misery, trapped by her own courteousness. Go after Mar already. So what if he might go back to Tere, what have you got to lose?
Paq, thanks for the new words meddling (metiche)and the others.
Espe had better va, and pronto! Until her baby is born and is older. Hopefully it will be a girl.

Loved the recap Frances. I agree that last night was a bit of rehash as different people explained to Oriana the whole tangled Mariano/Teresa/Arturo mess and Aurora retells the story of her unrequited love for Mariano. In the previews, Mariano and Teresa are about to kiss again. What a dummy.

Looks like Ruben may do away with Amadeo since he knows too much and now he (on Teresa's urgings) asked for more money.

Left out have a Happy Fourth of July everybody. Be safe.

Thanks for the recap Frances!

I agree that these episodes are slower than the usual ones but I think next week and the one that follows will move the plot a little more and then we will get to the last 50 episodes. I am excited for those.

I think Teresa's scene with Amadeo was interesting.

Oriana is infiltrating the scene but it is important for her to learn everything on screen so her actions don't come out of nowhere.

I agree on Aurora though, she needs to stop crying now. Although I hope Ana Brenda took this opportunity to learn how to work those tear ducts because she is reallyu going to need them for her next telenovela.

I just put a link in the Cuando Me Enamoro line with Rocío Banquells in Mamma Mia but rewatching the videos I had forgotten that Gloria Aura, who plays Paty in Teresa, played Sophie in the Mexican version of the play. If anyone is curious here's the Lay All Your Love On Me scene.

Jarocha

Did anyone else recognize Pati's bridal gown as the one originally intended for Tiburoncita?

Urban- Yes. Glad someone got use out of it, and it looked great on Pati.

Thanks for those links Jarocha. Gloria/Pati has a great voice. And who is the hotty playing her novio in the musical? Ay yay yay! If he were playing Johnny, I'd be waiting for their scenes with baited breath. :)

Lots of set up, but Oriana is gaining good insight into Teresa and the people affected by her. I'm glad to hear that we are just in a bit of a lull before the final exciting 50 episodes. Thanks again Jarocha.

I also want Aurora to stop being sad. That's why I liked it when Martin was around. He made her happy. I'm not so sure that if she told Mariano she did still love him that he would drop Aida and go after her. I'm just not seeing the real attraction and drive on his part. Perhaps when Aida finally pushes him too far and he realizes they aren't a good match. But right now he is having too much fun with her. Aurora should be doing the same with Martin. She should go after him in Paris.

Thank you so much for the recap Frances, and I love your picture. You have such a wonderful smile. :)

Happy 4th everyone!

Vivi: His name is Carlos Rivera, he is a singer who occasionally acts in musicals. Unfortunately TV Azteca has him because he started in one of those American Idol type of shows so we probably won't see him in Televisa novela anytime soon. He used to be so cute when he started and then suddendly he god so HOT.

Jarocha

Sorry, I meant he got hot.

Jarocha

Yes, he aged well. :)

Maybe Teresa can ask her teddy bears for advice on what to do about Oriana, Fito, and Aida.

I vote for Amadeo to get whacked, but I also want Ruben to get whacked, or at least roughed up a little, or a lot.

I absolutely love when Aida calls Teresa a RRRRRRRRRRRata! It makes me laugh.

I love the arguments between Aida and Tiburoncita, they are entertaining. At one point, Aida called Teresa una "zorra", which Paquita translated as "slut"; I thought it meant "b!tch". Not that it matters, I was just curious.

That Grumpy Gramps guy better be careful or his eyeballs are gonna pop out in the middle of an episode. That poor guy is broken hearted, Paty should give him a break. Johnny is goofball, he is bound to get himself into some kind of trouble.

That Aurora (AnaBrenda) is so darn cute, but if she keeps telling Mariano that she doesn't have feelings for him, he's never going to go after her.

Great recap Paquita!

"That Aurora (AnaBrenda) is so darn cute, but if she keeps telling Mariano that she doesn't have feelings for him, he's never going to go after her."

I think she is trying to save her dignity as much as she can. She has no reason to believe Mariano would ever go after her even if she told him how she really feels and then what if he decides to try it with her like she did with Martín and in the end he still has feelings for Teresa? That would be extremely hurtful for her already battered heart. The healthiest thing she could do was getting over him but she already tried the dating someone else with Martín and she ended up hurting him so now she feels guilty on top of all else. I'd say distance would be the best but she has to see Mariano at work because of her internship.

Jarocha

"At one point, Aida called Teresa una "zorra", which Paquita translated as "slut"; I thought it meant "b!tch". Not that it matters, I was just curious."

=========================

I always use online SpanishDict for translation and according to them, the translation for "zorra" is slut (peninsular Spanish) whatever that means. They also list a few others that would fit in as an insult: prostitute, strumpet, drunkenness, a sly, crafty person.

Come to think of it, the way Aida used it maybe she meant it as prostitute. She was saying that was the only way Teresa was getting to see Europe -- because she was a zorra! I love/hate Aida

Good eye, UA re: the bridal dress. It looked familiar to me but I thought the skirt may have been different.

Yeah, "zorra" is more like slut. Bitch is "perra". There are more words that could serve for either insult (you'd be surprised by how many) but those are the most common ones.

Jarocha

By the way Frances, you look so pretty in you picture!

So what's going on with the relationship between Mayra, Genoveve, and Ruben. I saw the scene Friday night where Aida, Mayra and Genoveve are all sitting around and looking like they are all getting along just fine. If Aida is so upset about Ruben messing around with Esperanza, why isn't she upset about Ruben messing around with Genoveve.

Why is Ruben talking to Genoveve about adopting Esperanza's baby? I thought he was married to Mayra? Is he married to Genoveve? Does Mayra know Ruben is currently involved with Genoveve and that he was previously involved with Esperanza and got her pregnant?

So Amadeo is apparently Teresa's accountant as well as Ruben's? How did that happen, does Teresa work at the same place as Ruben?

This is all very confusing.

I'll say again that I vote for Amadeo to get whacked. Hopefully, he will get whacked in a dramatic way like in The Godfather movies. (Maybe Amadeo can get whacked while eating a plate of pasta).

I have a bad feeling about that real estate project in Cancun. I think something is going to go dreadfully wrong with it.

By the way, what is Ruben's connection to Arturo? Do they both work at the same law firm? Is Ruben a lawyer?

Shark,

I’m glad you are asking questions, it makes us think back and remember the plot and story line. It seems that years ago Geno and Ruben were an item and then along came Myra with her inherited wealth and broke them up. Geno must have wanted a son for Ruben, because she said something at one point about not being able to “give him a son,” hence the wacky Espe kidnapping (?) adoption plot. Also, Teresa’s early boyfriend was Geno’s son, Paulo, who died of a drug overdose so she has “empty arms.” One of the great ironies of the novela is that Aida has been upset at the QUALITY of the woman who her father was having an affair with, someone from “la vecindad,” as though the situation would be better if the woman were of her class. Both Myra and Aida know about Espe, but not about Geno. We imagine that Aida will be just as hurt when she realizes that her father is having an affair with someone of her same class and her mother’s best friend, but maybe not!! I give Aida her due for trying to walk the thin line between her mother’s happiness and the family fortune, she is in a tough spot and she has been a big help to her mom.

Ruben is a respected accountant and has done work with several of the characters in the novela including Arturo, Teresa got to know him in that capacity. I think if Arturo weren’t so upset about his marriage, he would have put two and two together when Amadeo came to him with an embezzlement scenario describing Ruben. It is my guess that Ruben was fairly honest business wise until Luna Turquesa came along and he became over extended and started moving money around from account to account illegally. It seems that he has always been a mujeriego though.

The “comeuppances” for this novela will be interesting, there hasn’t been a lot of ridiculous violence as of yet, so I have no guess where anything is going. In a traditional novela there would be whackings, burnings, shootings, deaths by “splat!,” etc., etc., etc., but we don’t seem to be going in that direction…..it’s anyone’s guess!

Jarocha so glad you dropped by. Were you pleased with the English program in the US? Do you feel that you learned a lot? I bet people were surprised at your fluency.

Where are my "manners?"......happy Fourth of July everyone!!!

Sharkbyte- Sandy has given all the relevant details on the Rube-Myra-Geno-Aida situation. Here's a bit more:

- Espe is the only who knows Rubes and Geno are having an affair. She hasn't told anyone.
- Geno has always had an obsession with getting Rubes back and so she constantly tries to create unbreakable ties between them. She was the one who pushed the Aida/Paulo relationship so that they would be tied by marriage between their kids; she enouraged him to join her in the Luna Turquesa deal and was the one that pushed him into getting the money to invest any way he could, knowing he'd have to steal it from Myra, she made them partners in crime; in this way she pressured Rubes into becoming her lover (he rejected her repeatedly before this); she made sure she was his only refuge and his helpmate when Myra dumped him after the affair with Espe was revealed; she helped convince Myra and Aida to give him another chance; and now she wants to raise his son. I don't know what her end game is. I'm sure she wants him to dump Myra for her eventually. But will all that she has to offer (sex, unconditional love, business partnership, son) trump Myra's millions?

But when this all blows up, it will be comeuppance for both Myra and Aida who were so horrible to Espe, the girl from the vencinidad. They will choke on their rage and tears when they find out the biggest ho of all was right in their backyard- someone they trusted who is of their same class.

Paquita you've done another sensational recap and thank you so much.

Oriana is like a sledgehammer!!! She's like a old pitbull not willing to let go until she unmasks Teresa. If only she had a little finesse as she dealt with how she ask her questions she would be so much more likeable.

Ita about Aurora snap out of it dear and go after your man. I mean Mariano sorry Martin even though i like you Aurora just can't quit Mariano.

The relationship between Mariano and Aeeeeeeeeda will not last did you hear what this delusional harpy thinks that Mariano will leave the people he grew up with and distance himself from them. She even thinks she might marry him ?

Does she even think and apparently she doesn't even know Mariano at all. How selfish is she really there is no difference if you think about it as Teresa wants to forget where she came from. Now Aeeeeeeeeeda in order to change Mariano into her ideal man she wants him to forget his roots and distance himself from that.

Love the little cat and mouse game Teresa played with Amadeo and loved the aftereffect asking Ruben for more money. Teresa keep tightening that noose.

Vivi excellent point About Aeeeeeeeeda and family boy i can't wait for this to be revealed. You know if Teresa knew about Ruben and Geno she wouldn't even hesitate to expose both of them.

I was under the impression that Ruben was stealing from Mayra long before Luna Turquesa? But for this project he needed more pesos from Mayra's coffers to fund it.

Paquita, great recap. Special thanks for translating the dichos.

My guess is Madame Oriana Budinski had a lousy marriage with Fer Sr. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be with her day after day. Maybe Fer's pop was a mujeriego too.

ITA on Aurora, but she's facing the dilemma of good girls everywhere - how to attract that guy surrounded by tiboronitas without becoming one yourself. Mar reminds me of a cousin who never lacked for beautiful women chasing him and didn't realize who he really loved until he suffered a terrible car accident and wanted only one of the women to visit him while he was in the hospital. They married when he recovered. I hope it doesn't take something this dramatic for Mar to see Aurora is "the one."

Shark, Ruben El Bigote, had few dollars before he married Mayra who convinced her dad to help or add Ruben to his business. Though Ruben was probably not from a such bad vencidad, there is are parallels between him and Tere...being they married for money, are not loyal to their mates and can tell a lie for their advantage without feeling much guilt. El Bigote purchased an apt for liasons with Espe, unknownst to Mayra and Aida, so we don't know if he used his funds or maybe part of Mayra's. It sounds as if he has been embezzling before Luna Turquesa though I don't think we have any specifics.

TibOriana and Madame Oriana Budinski are great nicknames. I really enjoy your recaps which I need for comprehension and vocab as well. Thanks.

Happy 4th!

GinCA

Sandy: My program was fantastic, the professors chosen were incredible and the classes were great. The school was great. I don't think my english is anywhere as impresive but I had no problem with the classes so for that I'm happy. I have some classmates who studied in US universities so I was definitely nowhere close to the best speakers though.

By the way, the sun in Washington left me extra-tanned. If it wasn't for the pictures I took with Vivi my parents would have thought I went to some beach instead.

Jarocha

Thanks to everyone who updated me on the storyline and answered my questions! You guys are a fun group!

Happy 4th of July!

Wonderful recap Paquita, thank you!

I really cant stand Oriana,I expected Fer's mom to be sophisticated, elegant and proper.
this woman dresses awful with those cheap looking plaid jackets & slacks, sits like a cowboy and her entire demeanor is more like a ranch hand! She was sitting with her legs open and chewing like a cow ! I cant imagine her rubbing elbows with royalty or upper crust. She is beyond rude, if someone came into my home and spoke like that I would kick them out ASAP!

she said she cared for Art like a son, if that was true they why hasn't she seen him since he was a young man?

who visits someone they havent seen in years, meet their new wife then proceed to be rude, put her down even when you see how much he loves her?
crazy but I am on Team Teresa, she has guts to hold her own with the witch. Whatever happens to Oriana...no sympathy from me.

I don't understand still why Refugio wants everyone to be with poor guys...Mariano, Culberto, Johnny..doesnt she know its just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is a poor one?? !!!
Happy 4th !

elle-

I'm going to give Refugio the benefit of the doubt and say she's a romantic who believes in love. She gave up a better life to be with the man she loves, and she does not regret it.

Teresa loves Mariano (but chose Art's money); Juana loves Cutberto (but pushes him away because she's afraid of his rejection once he learns about her inability to have children); Pati loves Johnny (but she really young; so although Ref couldn't stop them from having a civil wedding ceremony, she has convinced them to put off sex and babies until they are sure they can live this life together).

Blu and GinCA, this is an interesting question, when did Ruben's business dishonesty begin?  When Amadeo was showing Aida and Mayra the company books, he was happy for them to examine everything on the table except one set, which he knew had problems. Ruben has been very open with Geno about his financial situation regarding Luna Turquesa, I'm guessing he can't make the capital calls and was moving money from one of Myra's accounts into his. At the beginning of the novela he seemed to be a respected accountant, (but not husband!) money problems weren't mentioned although he was secretly paying for an apartment and beautiful jewelry for Esperanza. My guess is that he made enough on his own to sustain his affair, perhaps he overpaid himself using Myra's money, them again maybe not, but his present involvement in L-T has pushed him into embezzling enough money to send him to jail if caught. I don't think anything he might have done  previously would rise to this category.  This is only a "educated" (ha!) guess on my part, the way he handled his business before L-T isn't completely clear.

Paquita, thank you so much for the terrific recap.

I must admit that FF>> through most of these episodes unless there is a new storyline. But I never fail to read the recaps.

If I remember correctly, Ruben is a notario and not an accountant. Amadeo is the the accountant. Ruben is paying him to cook the books. Also, a notario in Mexico is nothing like a notary in the U.S.

Rosemary

Interesting, notario is different in Mexico than the US.  Ruben is actually a lawyer who specializes in legal transactions. Our notaries are public employees who witness the signing of documents.  There are several sites that describe the differences. Mexican notaries make money by charging a percentage in real estate transactions.  Below is just one of many descriptive links.

Rosemary, I thought the books were already cooked, Amadeas just discovered it and is being paid for his silence!  None of this is super clear!

http://blog.prurealtypv.com/prudential-vallarta/notario-publico-versus-notary-public/

Yes, Ruben cooked the books, not Amadeo. Amadeo is being paid to be silent and to distract Myra and Aida from the truth.

Sandy, you are correct, the plot about the cooked books is as clear as mud.

Vivi, why would Amadeo have anything to do with the books if he were not the accountant? I always surmised that Ruben had the power to sign checks for all of Myra's accounts and he was spending her money on things he shouldn't have. He was probably also moving money from account to account to cover his tracts. When the condo deal came along it became more difficult to cover the missing money and the accountant discovered the scam. I think it has always been beneath Ruben to do the actual accounting.

Last week's news had several articles about a mother-in-law to be in Great Britain that wrote a very hateful email to her future daughter-in-law that went viral. Everyone was called the woman "Momzilla" which is what I now call Oriana. Boy, could I write a back story for that character. I am sure that she is not what she seems to be. I bet the will problem had something to do with her.

Rosemary

Niecie-that is a really cool story about your cousin. It would make a great novel, movie-or a TN!
Happy 4th everyone!

On my local TV listings, it looks like Univision was previously going to show Teresa tonight one hour earlier than normal. However, now I checked and they are not showing Teresa at all, but instead will show a 2 hour episode of "Cuando Me Enamoro" prior to the soccer game. Is that also what everyone else is seeing in their listings? Is Cuando Me Enamoro any good?

Yeah, Sharkbyte, that's what I see in NYC. Haven't been following CME.

I believe Ruben was in charge of all of Mayra's business dealings, which was left to her by her father.

Ruben was embezzling money from Mayra to invest in Luna Turquesa b/c it always bothered him she was the one with the money, not him. He figured he'd make a goldmine out of LT and put the money back with Mayra not knowing anything.

Mayra did not care about the business dealings until the affair with Esperanza came to light. Then she wanted to take control of her business dealings, with the encouragement of Aida.

Aida wanted an audit of all of Mayra's business holdings. That's where Amadeo comes in the mix.

In the course of auditing Mayra's business dealings, Amadeo discovered the embezzlement and he knew only one person could have done it: Ruben.

He confronted Ruben and that's when Ruben came up with paying Amadeo for his silence.

Amadeo went to Arturo* and told him what was going on without naming names. Arturo told him that at the point that Amadeo discovered the theft and didn't report it to police, he becomes an accessory**.

Teresa overheard all of this and "helpfully" gave Amadeo a lift to Ruben's office, where she discovered Ruben was embezzling money from Mayra. That's why Teresa told Amadeo last week to ask for more money from Ruben (without naming names/situations), which he did, which pissed Ruben off.

*If Arturo had been thinking straight, he would have known it was Ruben that was doing the embezzling.

**I wonder if Amadeo is secretly working with the police to bring Ruben down.

Anon207, great posts. Thanks for clearing up Ruben's embezzlement saga for me. Does Teresa know Geno are Ruben are lovers? I thought maybe Espe told Tere and Tere is saving this big bomb when needed to destroy Aida.

No Teresa in CA tonight just two hours of Cuando.

GinCA

I don't think Teresa knows about Ruben & GENOVEVA being lovers, I think she just knows he has another lover.

Paquita: Another mesmerizing recap of a very confusing episodio. Thanks for all the vocabulary assists. I wasn't able to follow as closely this past week as I'd have liked to and so I appreciate all the detail afforded. Again, I like your breezy, matter-of-fact style. Definitely "Madame Oriana Budinski" is a LOL nickname for the nasty broad. Thanks!
==========
Elle/Blusamurai: I'm on team Teresa still with you and for the same reasons: her spunk and cunning in getting even with those who've done nothing but treat her with scorn from day one. And who's to say that she was like this in the beginning? She was a victim of prejudice and has used her brains and cunning to escape her equally suffocatingly prejudiced madre. Who's to say Tere might not be rehabilitated through some eventual recognition of her acquired love for Arturo (who really did screw the p-p-p-ooch when he took the easy way out and slept with PetPal)? Art was just looking for an excuse to give in to Paloma and he reeks of holier-than-thou h-h-hypocrite because of it. He deserves whatever crap Teresa dishes out to him. He truly never got over the sexual attraction to PatPal any more than Teresa has gotten over her sexual attraction to Mariano.

I've disliked loud mouthed, vindictive Aeeeeda from the beginning and hope she chokes on the revelation of the century that her Papi and Mami's BFF is really a two-timing evil witch who's been leading all three of the Bigote family down the primrose path of personal destruction for her own selfish purposes. Aeeeeda hated Tere from the beginning even before she found out about her humble beginnings, because Tere caught Paulo's eye first. That wasn't Tere's fault. I say, having gone to that prep school on scholarship, our Tiburoncita learned from the best how to swim with the rest of the sharks. Tere's walking a tightrope on many levels and it remains to be seen if she can keep her balance and triumph in some acceptable fashion. That's what entices me about her in this well-written tn.

Jarocha:

I'm confused. Do you know the answer? Did Esperanza admit to Aeeeda in Mariano's office that in fact, it was Ruben's baby and not Dr. Ledesma's? I thought Aeeeda has kept quiet about it to protect her mother's feelings. Maybe I misunderstood?

Jardinera:

Aida highly suspects that Ruben is Esperanza's baby daddy because she overheard Teresa LOUDLY congratulating Espe for being 3 months pregnant, and Espe was Ruben's lover 3 months ago. But she's keeping quiet for Mayra's sake.

Anon.207:

Okiedok. I never got the entirety of that scene. Thanks!

So it's been driving me crazy how long has Ruben been embezzling from Mayra so i went back in the recaps and found that it was alluded to by Geno in episode 37 when she first bought up the buying the condos to Ruben. She says to Ruben she knows he will find a way to come up with the money since has done this in the past without Mayra finding out. Now the difference is the money he took for the Luna Turquesa project was bigger than what he took and used in the past it couldn't be hidden. Ruben had nothing when he married Mayra and even though he has his little business and a little fortune supposedly of his own it was all gotten through Mayra. Finding out about his embezzlement will leave him flat broke about in the same position he was when he first met Mayra.

Jardinera i hear you when i went back to look up when Ruben started his embezzling i came across how many times odious Aeeeeeeeeeda and her confrontations with Teresa.

Let's see beside her constant hating on Teresa because Paulo liked and fell in love with her not knowing she was from the barrio. Once discovered we have the cyber bully video she made post graduation party.

Then there are the many times she lunged after Teresa and even physically assaulted her by slapping her. After Teresa warned time and time again go and live her life with her leftovers and leave her alone or should would be sorry if she didn't.

The supposed relationship she had with Arturo that was not true and was almost liable of what she was accusing both of them being in one. Then assumption that Arturo bought a apartment for her and she was going to put in on the internet despite the warnings from her own father. The intentional spilled coffee on Teresa's dress from Aurora as a present when Aurora was in Paris.

Then we have the thrown bleach in the eyes, one would think by the way Aeeeeeeeeeeda acts and conducts herself that she is the La Rata de Vecindad and not Teresa.

I'm loving that Teresa is getting her own back at Aeeeeeeeda and her social circle and she had forewarned Aeeeeeeeda whatever she does to her she will get it back 10 times worst. So no i don't feel not one ounce of sympathy for Aeeeeeeeeeda because she brings it upon herself. If anything she is in serious need of therapy even her bebe as she called Paulo told her a couple of times he didn't want to put up with her obsession about Teresa. That union wasn't going to be a happy one either because eventually Paulo was probably either going to get him a chippy on the side just like his father in law or they were going to end up divorce.

I can't wait for Teresa to discover that Ruben is sleeping around with Geno.

I've got no great love for Aida, but I do appreciate the fact that she puts a smile on Mariano's face way more frequently than Teresa has; that she sticks it to Ruben and makes his life difficult; and that she tells it like it is with no beating around the bush. All the faults Blu and Jardinera point out are quite true and valid, but I know Aida will suffer quite a lot in the end when all the revelations about her father come out, and when she and Mariano eventually break up (they are too different for a lasting long-term relationship).

I actually don't want Teresa to find out about Ruben and Geno. Shocking, I know. Don't get me wrong. I would love to see Teresa stick it to Ruben and Geno. However, whenever she does this, she just ends up hurting Espe more, and has no guilty feelings about it. I'm sure any games she plays with Rubes and Geno will just drag Espe into the whole mess and make her life more difficult than it is. If Teresa just went about getting back at the people who hurt her (and I love those moments when she does), I'd always root for her. The fact that she willfully hurts the people who love her, just can't win me over.

Now as for the Art infidelity- both he and Teresa cheated (and Teresa would have hopped into bed with Mariano 3-5 times after marriage if people hadn't interrupted them each time). Both of them are being hypocritical about it. Their infidelities cancel each other out in my mind. Apart from that, Art still doesn't deserve the mind games, theft, fleecing and betrayal Teresa has in mind for him. This is the man who made it possible for her to go to the best college in the capital, opened up his home to her, gave her a job, and helped her and her family at every turn (all before they were romantically involved). Doesn't he get some credit for that?

Vivi i don't disagree i bought up this point before i don't defend Teresa at all by the way she has used her family and step over and on her friends who really do care about her she needs to pay for that behavior. You also made a valid point on the infidelities between her and Arturo so i agree they are even. But i will say in Arturo's defense her mind games are destroying this poor man ad nobody deserves that.Well maybe Ruben and his coven of witches do:)

Yes i do give Arturo credit for all that he has done for Teresa especially when dealing with a know it all mother who has disapproved of him since the first time she has met him. I don't excuse the infidelity but like you said Teresa would have broken her vows so many times if she wasn't caught with Mariano it's not even funny.

It's the damage she not only is going to cause Arturo but Luisa also that i don't care for so my favorite little tiburoncita must be bought down. Plus the anguish she has caused Mariano,Espe,Juana and Aurora.

My criticism and it's only a little one since i am enjoying this intelligent novela so much i wish that the writers had written Oriana in another way she could still expose Teresa but she doesn't have to be such a meddling budinski b!tch about doing it.

In order for Teresa to change she has to realize and be pointed out how in correct her behavior is. I do think now she does have feelings for Arturo even though she still has lingering feelings left over for Mariano. But then again Arturo had lingering feelings leftover for Pathetic Paloma didn't he. I think when Arturo truly finds out why Teresa married him and it wasn't for love she might see what she is about to him not as what he can give her but as a man who truly does love her it will be her wake up call.

Jardinera: Aída doesn't know about Esperanza's baby being Rubén's yet.

Blu: "Ruben and his coven of witches" LOL! Hahaha.

By the way, I already catched the first promo for Jose Alberto Castro's next novela "La Que No Podía Amar". So soon! But Televisa is suffering from awful ratings so I know Televisa is putting their hopes in him to score another Teresa type of hit.

Jarocha

Jarocha glad to see you here i guessed you missed my question from the other day what is happening with Meh-jia's other remake with William Levy CDL did he finish it or did he just do a pilot?

My other question is who is starring "La Que No Podia Amar'? If this is from the same guy who produce Teresa i think i will be watching it. I guess we got quite awhile before it gets over here though huh?

Blu: I think so far the remake of Cuna de Lobos is still on hold. They have only shot the pilot but that was about a year ago.

Castro picked Ana Brenda for the female lead and it appears the male lead will be José Ron (Matías in Cuando) but it could be also Julián Gil. It's still unlcear who's going to end up with her. The villains will be played by Jorge Salinas and Susana González.

Jarocha

Thanks Jarocha i would pick Jose Ron who was Ana Brenda's lead in Juro Que Te Amo i just don't find Julian Gil and his shark looking smile at all attractive but he does have a great body. Jose Ron on the other hand has gorgeous eyes and a pretty smile.

Thanks also for letting us know about the CDL remake can you perhaps tell us how is Meh-jia faring now with Televisas? It can't be good with all his recent flops and his other decisions on who has produced the other novelas.

I haven't heard much on Mejía but I do know part of the delay on his series has to do with a worry that it won't do well in ratings. The thing that saves him is the success of his novelas in foreign countries, particularly in the US. Televisa doesn't have much competition in México because they are the only network that can be accesible on every part of every state so ratings aren't as huge as they are in the US (where some shows are even pulled when they don't do well by the fourth episode). However, advertisers won't pay much for a dead timeslot so it is still important to mantain domestic audiences. That's why after big flops producers are relegated to afternoon slots but Mejía has managed to never fall there for some reason. And I believe that reason is nepotism.

Jarocha

Sorry, I meant that ratings weren't as huge a thing as in the US. Which is why unlike some shows who would get pulled relocated on Univision or canceled on another network (like Fox) are allowed to finish in México.

Jarocha

Jarocha i believe Televisa should be very worried and take this very seriously nepotism or not. When i discuss a novela i do take in the fact by the info you or others give how well it does in Mexico locally. Like you said the advertisers aren't going to keep putting up with novelas they can't draw in or keep a audience engaged with it's story.

I'm still amazed about what you wrote on how TDA was considered even worst than CS2009 which got pulled from it's U.S. timeslot and put on at midnight over here!!!!! It must be the appeal of William Levy and Maite Perroni that is what keeping this novela getting decent ratings in the U.S. that's all i can figure because it can't be the storyline.

I have another question did the writer of TDA quit because of differences on how the story was going with Meh-jia?

How is the novela doing with Carlos Ponce and Sergio Goyri who i love as a villain.

I think CME is a good novela but it should be moved to a later time.

Dos Hogares is doing terrible but it is still in its second week where novelas tend to continue the direction of ratings of the ones preciding them. After the first month we'll know more about its future. Goyri plays a good guy here actually, the bad guy is Alfredo Adame (Honorio in Cuando).

The writer of TDA did quit but it wasn't Liliana Abud. Apparently she only writes the story archs and other people write the dialogues. The one in charge of the dialogues quit and Liliana had some issues with Mejía but stayed.

Jarocha

And yeah, TDA did end up with a 22.4 points while CS2009 ended with a 25 or something like that. Usually novelas at 9 pm are expected to end in 30 points and novelas at 8pm are expected to end above 25 points. STuD ended with 31, I think, and Teresa (which was on at 6pm) ended in 33. CME ended between 26-27 and it was on at 7pm so those were good numbers too.

Jarocha

I believe Jarocha that Univision is not helping their novelas shown at the hours they show them like for instance CME is a very adult novela and shouldn't be shown at 7pm ever since they moved ENDA from 8pm to 7pm and followed that with it's replacement Mi Pecado and both were adult theme novelas i think they still believe they can keep showing novelas like this in that spot. I wish they would go back to showing the lite or comedy novelas at 7pm and the more adult ones for 8-9pm showing.

I know it's too late but if Univision was smart i would have moved UDA to 7pm after LLena ended it's a comedy anyway even though that wasn't the intent from the producer.

aurora should be happy with martin cause mariano dosen't see it she dosen't deserve that i love teresa alot:)
