Alborada, 8/30/2011. Cap. 65.
On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 65 start at this link.
Thank you, Carlos, for today's picture.
(Again in catch-up mode... This time it was an Irene-induced 30-hour power outage. But I think I'll finally make it tonight!)
Very sad picture Carlos, of the end of a very sad life.
Tks Paula for doing this for us.
Francisco is a guest in Cristobal's home and yet he and his backward son both shattered full wine glasses on the floor. Jerks.
The regidor is such a pragmatist hoping that God calls Esperanza home.
Loved how Diego promised Juana that he'd behave if they'd just kill Luis.
Some days I think I could like Antonio and then he says or does something profoundly stupid.
But then Diego does something really monstrous and I get over it. :)
I'm still cutting Antonio a lot of slack because of his awful upbringing and the fact that most of the things he gets wrong are out of ignorance/stupidity. Francisco, on the other hand, is incorrigible.
As for Diego, he may or may not be sick in the head (he sure acts like it), but he seems to revel in his evil, which puts him back in the voluntary criminal column in my book.
Gasca seems almost resigned to his fate as a bad guy, as if he had no choice but to take the path that he's on. I'd like to know more about that. (And also where he got his strange fashion sense.)
I haven't gotten to Esperanza's death just yet, but it appears that she gets to die in bed. (For a while there, I thought she'd be burnt at the stake or something.) And all Francisco has to say about her fate is how swell it is to be a rich person!
I keep wondering what was considered rape in those days, as everyone keeps doubting whether or not what happened to Espe and Marina was rape.
Poor, sad, crazy Esperanza. Such a sad soul. I hope Mirtha gets a second chance and doesn't have a dreadful end just because her mistress was loca.
Francisco is a worthless ass. It's pretty bad when your own daughter thinks you are an embarrassing chump. Even Andres shines by comparison.
Carlos, what is that saying? Fish and house guests smell after three days?
It must be awful to be in your death bed knowing everyone is just waiting for you to die so They can back to their lives, not because they care.
Cristobal is a saint letting that pig Francisco live in his house. He wouldn't last one minute in mine.
Julie, love your caption.
I think there have been one or two references to doing some kind of scientific work there as well, but that doesn't come up very often. It's probably related to either the silver mine or the cochineal bugs. Both would require some kind of laboratory work.
