Cuando Me Enamoro #83 Friday 8/12/11 Another One Bites The Dust (But is it who you think it is?)

Feliz viernes a todos! After an action-packed episode yesterday, you'd think we would be in for a bit of a slow down right? Wrong! Tonight we get new characters, more tears, and a twist ending! Get ready for it!

Picking up from last night, fate continues to shove Nata into significant characters as she bumps into Marina at the airport. They exchange polite perdóns and go their separate (though unknowingly connected) ways.

Carlos and Matilde are bummed that Renata left; they were both sure that she and Jero had reconciled. Jero says that Nata left him because she could not forget how much he hurt her. Nata didn't leave because she does not love him. Jero, in tears, admits he is destroyed by Nata's leaving. Carlos asks if Jero will try to get Nata back.

Constanza runs into the centro kitchen to tell Chema about Adriana's accident. Coni has to be with Honorio now that the life of his only daughter is in danger. Chema wants to go with her but Coni tells him she has to go alone. She only wants to be with Honorio. Chema wants Coni to share her problems with him now that they are an item. Coni can't deal with that right now and hurries out the door.

Regina tells Gonzo she wishes she could go with him to the hospital but doesn't think it would be prudent. It would cause problems with Fina. Gonzo tells Regi not to worry about Fina anymore. She lied about having a brain tumor. Gonzo moved out of the house and is getting a divorce ASAP. From this moment on, Regi is his partner. Regi cries happy tears.

Detective Cantu grills Daniel at the police station. Danny Boy has a bandaged head but is otherwise fine. He agrees to tell the feds everything they want to know about Blanca but only if he gets to explain it in front of Hon and Gonzo.

Honorio waits anxiously for word on Adri's condition. Matias leaves a message for Nata but doesn't go into detail. Coni arrives at the hospital with Gonzo. She takes one look at Honorio and embraces him.

Mat tells Gonzo that Adri's operation could take hours; all they can do is wait and hope. Gonzo tries to comfort Mat.

Honorio blames himself for Adriana's accident. If he hadn't been so stupid as to trust Blanca, none of this would have happened. Adri was hit because she was trying to help him. "It should have been me! It would not matter if I lived or died! My daughter is so young and full of life. She can't die!" Constanza tries to console him through her own tears.

BSC Blanca reaches a whole new level of psychosis as she sits on a bed and contemplates a lighter. She drags the flame across her arm with creepy satisfaction.

It leaves nasty red burns on her forearm. Then she starts beating herself with a wooden stick (??) and calling herself estúpida. Gah, this reminds me of that scene in Fatal Attraction where Alex sits in a bedroom flicking a light switch on and off for hours.

*Shiver* They both have sick obsessions with married men and both enjoy self-mutilation. They should share a rubber room together somewhere.

Matias finally gets through to Renata and he tells her about Adri's accident. Nata will be there as soon as she can.

The doctor checks up on a battered and unconscious Adriana.

A young woman asks a nurse for information about the girl who was run over by a car. Matias overhears and is on the defensive. He guesses that the young woman must be the low-life hit-and-run driver.

Nata arrives at the hospital and Gonzo tells her that Adri is in intensive care; no one is allowed to see her yet. Nata sits with Hon and Coni and keeps repeating that there's no way Adriana can die. Everyone anguishes in the waiting room.

The young lady tells Matias that her sister was driving the car. She is underage and the accident scared her so much she ran away. The lady says that both she and her father want to accept responsibility for the accident which is why she came to the hospital. Matias softens and apologizes for jumping down her throat. He introduces himself and she tells him her name is Julieta Montiel (Zoraida Gómez, another cast member from En Nombre del Amor).

Julieta says that her family is not wealthy but her father is prepared to pay for Adri's medical expenses even if they have to pay it little by little. Matias thanks Julieta for the offer but they can't accept it. If they did, the police would investigate and Julieta's sister would have trouble with the law.

Early the next morning, the doctor finally has news for the Monterrubios. He tells them that Adri isn't out of the woods yet but they have hope she will pull through. Adri broke several bones, including her left leg, but the doctor is most worried about Adri's spine. Uh-oh.

The doctor says he noticed that several discs in Adri's spine were damaged by the impact of the car. It could effect her mobility but he has hope that it will heal in time. None of the Monterrubios are very comforted by the news.

Marina has arrived in wine country and takes a stroll with Padre. Marina hopes she can do something for the locals who lost their livelihoods in the storm. Padre thinks Marina is just what the doctor ordered. They need a competent medical profession in town. Marina would be happy to help.

Jero leaves on horseback. Lazaro tells Mati and Carlos he thinks Jero is going to look for Nata.

Gonzo and Matias leave to hold down the fort at work so Honorio can devote his time to his hija. Nata promises to stay as long as she needs to.

Ezequiel catches Jero leading Nata's horse Gitana out of the stables. Jero is taking the horse with or without permission. Zeke doesn't like it but he lets Jero go without much of a fight.

Augie's lawyer tells him he's free to go because they don't have enough evidence to hold him. Augie gloats that it's going to drive Jero crazy that he's been cleared of all charges.

Matias and Coni have coffee in the hospital cafeteria. Mat doesn't want Julieta's sister to end up prosecuted, especially since Adri did not look before she ran out into the street. Coni tells him to talk to Honorio about it. Gonzo drops by to tell Matias that they have to leave for work.

Constanza comes back from the waiting room to find Nata by herself. Hon left to make a phone call. Tia Coni asks how things went with Jero. Nata says everything went well but she had to leave Jero. She is not going to be in Jero's life and he will no longer be a part of her's. It breaks Nata's heart but she had to do it. Coni gives Nata a motherly hug.

Karina and Lazaro discuss Nata's leaving the hacienda. Kari can identify with Nata; she could never forgive what Doc did to her. She's going to miss Nata because she made Kari feel happy and valuable. Lazaro tells Kari she is very valuable.

Matias gets back to the casa. He fills Roberta in on where everyone has been the past day. Berta has a smug satisfaction about her as she figures out that Jero and Nata tried to reconcile but failed. Mat wants to end the farce that is their marriage as soon as possible.

Fina puts up her jewelery in order to get some quick cash. She vows that she will get Gonzo back and settle things once and for all with Regina.

Detective Cantu tells Antonio that he has found a guy who was Fina's lover in the past. Cantu is sure this will be the solution to the PepaFina equation.

Padre pays a visit to Jero and introduces him to Doctora Marina. Jero flashes an award-winning grin.

Nata prays about her situation. She is thankful Adriana survived and asks for the strength to move on from Jero. She doesn't want another relationship full of lies and misery. She prays for help in healing her broken heart.

Jero mentions having already met Marina at the hospital once. The pueblo is planning a birthday celebration for Padre and he invites Jero and Nata to the party. Jero fills Padre in on Nata's leaving. Padre's smile after hearing this news makes me think he wants to play matchmaker with Jero and Marina.

Augie returns to his hacienda and Zeke tells him about Jero taking Gitana from the stables. Augie tells Zeke that he is supposed to protect everything that Augie owns with his life. If he's not willing to do that, Zeke can leave. Augie seethes that Nata would want her horse moved.

Jero tells Carlos that he wants to win Nata back but he has to give her time. He and Nata had such a volatile relationship. Jero needs to earn her love and work to keep it for the rest of their lives.

Padre fills Marina in on Jero and Nata's torrid love story. Marina tells Padre she knew Jero because he had asked her to preform a DNA test on Berta's baby. What a small world! Berta was Rafa's novia and Nata's sister. How odd, says Marina. Jero had asked to have the test done to see if Berta's baby was his or not. Padre's gossipy heart can barely handle the shock of it.

Nata turns up at Palacio Monterrubio to have a word with Berta. They have a surprisingly civil conversation. Berta is glad that everyone knows she didn't kill Rafa, even if Jero wanted to have her thrown in jail. Nata says Jero only wants justice. She wishes Berta would help them achieve it. Berta has no idea who would want to kill Rafa but she wants to find out who did it so the two of them can move on from the ghosts of boyfriends past.

Matias and Gonzo both agree that Julieta Montiel and her family are not at fault for the accident. They lay the blame solely at Blaaaaanca Ocaaaampo's feet.

Augie calls La Bonita but Manuela tells him that Nata returned to Mexico. Augie is thrilled.

Constanza brings Hon some coffee. He thanks her for staying by his side. Coni cries that she has grown to love Adriana and wants her to survive. Honorio leaves to fill out more paperwork and Coni is surprised to find Chema there when she turns around.

Coni says Chema shouldn't be there. Hon is so worried about Adri's condition that Chema's presence would send him over the edge. Chema can't help but be jealous that Coni is spending so much time with Hon. He asks Coni not to exclude him from her life but leaves the hospital to avoid causing trouble.

Back at the the police station, Danny Boy tells Gonzo and Matias that he wants to help them set a trap for Blanca. He will tell them anything they want to know about Blanca as long as they drop the charges against him. Gonzo is not pleased but agrees to the conditions so Blanca will never hurt another person he loves. Matias threatens...no warns Daniel that if he double-crosses them, there will be hell to pay.

Fina stuffs her cash into a bag and plans to meet with Gustavo. She wants him to do things her way. He kind-of agrees.

Nata does an eye makeup commercial and gets a call from Augie. She's happy to hear Augie is out of jail. Nata tells him about Adri's accident and promises to get back to him when she isn't stretched so thin.

Gonzo and Mat fill Honorio in on Daniel's interrogation. He admitted to being Blanca's accomplice. Hon is worried about having to trust a liar like Daniel but he understands that it's a risk they have to take to catch Blanca. Hon's main concern is Adriana's health.

Regina, Doña Cata, Ines, and Isidro all stop by the hospital to ask about Adriana. She is still fighting for her life. Regi steps out for a minute to get a drink and Gonzo bounds down the hallway to help her.

Gustavo paces in a remote wooded area. Detective Cantu meets with him while Fina waits in the bushes. Gustavo hands over the paperwork that proves that Fina was the kidnapper. Cantu hands over a check and Gustavo promptly shoots Cantu in the chest.

Ay, dios mio! Fina checks his pulse and is pleased to see that Cantu is dead. She didn't think Gustavo had the guts to do it. He pockets the check and Fina hands over the sack with the money she promised him. Gustavo thinks he and Fina should go on a trip together to celebrate their villainy. Fina says there is a place she plans to visit but Gustavo is going to get there before she does: HELL.

Fina shoots Gustavo in the chest. He wheezes in pain and when the credits roll, he hasn't quite died yet. Just when we thought Fina was down for the count, she comes back with a vengeance! What's the body count up to now?

Avances: Berta pleads with Matias to not leave her, Jero is furious that Augie is out of jail, and Augie wastes no time in acting the part of Nata's shadow.

Vocab:

se debate entre la vida y la muerte - hovering between life and death (Hon about Adri)
terapia intensiva - intensive care / ICU (Where Adri is)
dispuesto - ready, prepared (Julieta to Mat)
columna - spine
nos viene como anillo al dedo - comes in handy. (As far as I can tell. Padre said this to Marina)
a retorcer el hígado - Lit. "to twist the liver". I think it means "to drive someone crazy / to make someone angry". (Augie about Jero)
cruzó sin voltear - crossed without looking

Wow Amy! Great recap. Can't believe I am the first to comment. Maybe not after I finish my long comment. :)

This was a fabulous episode. You are so right, just when we thought we'd get a breather after Thurs, they hit us with these huge twists to the plot. Fina took care of business! I chuckled at her line about Gustavo going to a place she always thought she'd end up, before she gets there, Hell. LOL! With Gustavo and Cantu gone, Toni is the only person who knows the most truth (although he doesn't have physical/documented proof). What's he going to do with that info? Help Gina or go to the dark side? I don't know if Cantu gave the guy who took over for him while he ws out of town the most updated info. Isidro is also the only other person who suspects the Pepa/Fina link, but I don't think selfish Toni was keeping him updated about all the things Cantu was learning in Fina's old town.

The conversation between Nata and Berta was surprisingly civil, but Berta couldn't help get in a dig about Jero. She did mention to Nata that she was so crazy from her time in the pokey, she even suspected Selene and her mother. Nata was shocked by that. I'm sure it will be filed away in her memory for some time later.

Carlos was pretty upset that Nata had left Jero. She should forgive AND forget, according to him. Dude, you witnessed how terrible Jero was to Nata. Why's it so hard to understand? OK, he didn't rape or beat her like the Doc did to Kari, but the intent of isolating her and destroying her emotionally was the same as. He wouldn't be encouraging Kari to go back to the Doc, would he?

Doc Marina (of the pushed up ta-tas), definitely likes what she sees with Jero. Luckily, in addition to being a possible love rival for Nata, she has valuable info that could help Jero. How long will it take her to throw her ethics aside and give Jero info about one particular patient?

One correction- It was the Monterrubio lawyer (Fina's lackey) who was questioning Daniel, not Cantu.

Oh, and I love the pictures you gave us Amy.

Chema needs to back up and back off. Connie is being very clear about what she needs. She needs to be by Hon's side, supporting him. Chema is not part of that equation.

Oh, Dios. Amy you had a rockin' episode last night. Love the pics too!

Blanca - now beyond BSC. We so need her back-story and why the heck she ever went for that job in the first place. There has to be something!!

Oh my little Adri - hope we don't get her having to be confined to a wheelchair. But any mention of spine usually heads there. Bummer.

Berta and Nata working together- interesting. That may get Berta intro'd to Augie faster. He's just getting increasingly creepier - go run your vineyard man!! And if he does anything to that beautiful horse to try and make it look like Jero did it??? I can't even put into words how furious that will make me.

Ending was somewhat aweseome - nice twist. Bummed both guys are now gone. Fina lives to be evil another day, but now she's racking up the end-of-episode points on how awful her fall will be. Seems she's over the impact of pulling a trigger and killing someone, so
watch out folks!! Who's next?

Good point on Toni, Vivi. Will he be so furious about Gonzo and Regi that he hooks up with Fina ( match made in hell)? Inez and Isidoro better be careful of what they suspect-know. But I think eventually they will be key factors in getting the truth out.

So we have a couple new female characters...need a few good men to add to the picture too. We already can guess the good Dr's place in the story - wonder how Julieta will play into things (little-lot?). Hello new plot lines and hook ups...

Excellent, Amy, simply excellent. What a great recap. What a great episode. I'm still trying to catch my breath.

I especially liked:

"Jero flashes an award-winning grin. "

The doc did a little welcome flashing of her own.

We've certainly seen Pepafina grow over these past weeks. Roberto's death was only marginally related to her pushing him through the shop window. Rafa's death was an unintended tragic bungle. She botched both the stabbing and the poisoning of Regina.

Last night, however, she smoothly offed 2 impediments without even breaking a sweat. Good job, Pepafina, this Bud's for you!

Chema, Chema, Chema... your tee shirt line has been put on hold. (Sorry, Rosemary la O and daisynjay.)

Don't get me wrong, I love, love Renata, but she seems to just take for granted that someone will take care of Gitana. She just doesn't seem that committed.

It's ten o'clock in the morning... do you know where your horse is?

Well, watching Blanca entertain herself last night answered most of my questions. The only one I have remaining is, why Honorio?

I'm not too worried about Adriana. Her doctor looks just dorky enough to be both competent and honest.

Carlos

Looks like Fina gets to go back to the pawn shop to pick up her bling. She was very forward thinking to make sure she had the money with her in case her plan backfired. But now she has eliminated two threats to her livilihood and this time she doesn't have to stop anywhere and pick up a tacky shirt.

BSC Blanca in orgasmic glee with her lighter made me puke a little in my mouth. Yuck.

Dr Marina with the pushed up ta-ta's...I don't see her wasting any time going after Jero.

I guessed I missed when Chema and Cons became an item...or is this just Chema being pushy?

I think Renata believes Augie's people are taking good care of Gitana (which they are). She probably wants to wait a bit more before shipping Gitana back- less stress on the horse. However, now that Gonzo, and soon Matias, aren't living at Monterrubio Maner, she doesn't have a place in the city to keep Gitana. She might as well leave her in Baja where she has a better chance of being well cared for. At MR Manor Fina would be a menace to Gitana.

Love recaps with pictures. I loved another saying from last night's episode. When Fina wants to hock her jewelry and the man asks her if she's sure she wants a loan or would she rather sell them. When he finally gives in and helps her out he says "dicen que Los bienes son para remediar Los males". Literally means the goods are for repairing the bads. Bienes is really assets and males is hardship. Great play on words.

I don't know who handles Renata's wardrobe but I think they should be fired. That scarf on her head last night made her look like the ironing lady at La Bonita and those olive green tights from the other day still make me cringe!
I'm not a slave to fashion but... They need to hire the ones that design the beautiful wardrobe in Alborada!

Wow Amy, who would have imagined so much new and unexpected action.

Carlos -- love your take on Fina --"Last night, however, she smoothly offed 2 impediments without even breaking a sweat. Good job, Pepafina, this Bud's for you!"

Yes that conversation between Roberta & Renata was very civil. If only they could get together & share ALL of the truth. -- last night Renata revealed that a large part of what keeps her apart from Jero is his fathering Roberta's baby -- so obviously Roberta can't reveal that bit of truth yet. One day she will fess up to it being Rafa's child & she will be able to grieve for real the loss of both Rafa & the baby -- but that needs to wait for redemption time aboaut 50 episodes from now.

Interesting that there are so many new characters either already or on the horizon -- guess the story has to take a new direction now that it's about halfway over.

I'm with you Amy with the big "UH-OH" over the mention of Adri's spine. I guess that there is some long bed or wheelchair time ahead for her -- but the (as Carlos said: just dorky enough to be both competent and honest.) doc indicated time may heal her so I predict that she'll be able to stand at th altar with Matias after he breaks the phony pre nup)

What is up with Blanca????? She is truly loony. That scene was barf-inducing. We need to know what is behind her attack and her craziness. And what does
BSC stand for anyway?

Güera

Oh, and Amy, I forgot to thank you for the screen shots-- great photos.

And Mr. Inappropriate? Definitely Chema. What was he thiking?

Yes, Carlos, I was rethinking my Chema shirt order. Like Ruby,I did the beanie rewind as he claimed they were an "item". Did we not get something shown on those dates? If not, little too high-school for me.
Coni just needs to straighten out what she told Hon about her and Chema. Chema had cooperated before, hope he doesn't get all stupid now. Maybe we need to introduce him to Julieta?

Julieta and Cema?? Possibility. Or maybe Daniel after he turns to the light and helps get the goods on Blaaanca.

Amy, thank you so much! Sometimes I have to react before reading anything because I feel so strongly. Last night's show did that for me.

The most riveting was that bizarre pyro-masochistic, self-flagellating display by Lucifer-possessed Blaaanca! WTF! Holy smoking shit! I did NOT see that coming. I mean, we all know she's crazy but haysooo creeesto! Oh, she's a dangerous one, let Con pleeeeze listen to Hon and come back home and let them fight this crazy ho together.

Big time Mr. I, Chema!! Dang, boy, trying to lock horns with Con in a macho display of "she my woman now" when his daughter has been gravely injured??!! Get a clue and a grip! Didn't Con's tone sound like maternal scolding or pleading when she was talking to him. Go home, Chema! Bad boy, bad boy!

Yay! Regina knows there is no tumor. This will be important
piece of information (clear evidence of Fina's lying trechery) in unraveling the kidnapping of her daughter.

Okay, so Dra. may be ethical, but she is as much a metiche as her uncle, maybe more discreet with hers. It was hilarious how he spilled his guts of Jero and Renata's business before Jero had hardly walked away!! The great side of this is that once Dra. realizes the connection between Jero, Roberta and Fina, hopefully she will find an ethical way to tell the truth about Roberta's miscarriage! (An aside, I think the wardrobe department is headed toward the ancient Minoan woman look with Doctora's "top" , just do a Google image search on "Minoan women's clothing" or "Minoan snake goddess" -- this is another way of saying "where's the eye candy for the ladies!")

GLAD that Roberta told Renata she suspected Fina in Rafa's murder.

AND OH MY GOSH!! We knew the inspector was going to bite the dust -- why oh why did he not have back up???!! And how dumb was whatever his name is, didn't he see Fina get the poor inspector's gun? Fina is desperate and now that she's crossed the line into unequivocal, premeditated, cold-blooded in-yo-face slaughter, I fear for Gonzo, Renata and everyone else!

Juan Miguel or whomever said it: let's put Fina and Blanca, these two whores of satan, together in a cage and let 'em have at it!

Okay. There. Now, my dear, I shall read your recap and the always insightful, thought-provoking comments. This show is off the chain!!

Lila

Amy fantastic recap of a wild episode! This line had me cracking up : Padre's gossipy heart can barely handle the shock of it. *lol* So true!

Few TNs surprise me or make me gasp anymore (at least, not in a good way: I'm looking at you Triunfo del Amor!), but this one keeps hurling revelations and point-of-no-return moments like hand grenades! I love it!

Vivi, I find I almost always agree with your comments, but I especially do today. You are exactly right; Jero - aided and abetted by Carlos, no less - attempted to isolate and torture Renata. Thankfully she had more self-esteem than Kari and broke out of it, but that kind of damage goes deep. At least Matilde (and here I bow in the direction of our own Dr. Carlos) was always upfront and honest about her opinion of Renata; she wasn't sneaky or pretending to be nice while secretly trying to destroy her.

And I also agree with everyone about Chema. Right now he is acting almost exactly like Tony. Sorry Chema, but if you love Constanza, you support her the way SHE needs the support, not the way you want to support her.

Carlos, hilariously stated and completely accurate: PepaFina has grown very smoothly and believably into, essentially, a serial killer. Shes's getting comfortable at it. Pretty soon she'll be offing servants merely for serving her runny huevos rancheros.

CME really knows how to keep viewers eagerly anticipating each new episode!

Juan Miguel

Guera:

BSC = bat shit crazy

Amy, Amy, terrific retelling. You got a roller coaster episode, too.

Meanwhile, Fina has her first look-'em-in-the-eye-and-shoot victim. She's done the following criminally prosecutable offenses:
one accidental killing (Rafa)
one fortunately deflected knifing (Gina)
one nearly fatal poisoning (Gina)
one assisted death (baby Rafael)
and...didn't she kill Roberto, her lover, too?

It looks like we have two very happy people in Ensenada--Augie and Dr. Marina. I don't want to see Marina suffer for unrequited love, though. I hope Jero doesn't fall in any traps and lets her know early on that Nata is his only interest.

I do want to see Augie suffer some.

Yep, I, too, think a Ren-Jer pregnancy is in the offing. Jero's not going to find out from her. It'll be Adri or Matias that spills the beans--and then only at the last minute (or maybe Gonzo and Regina)?

What would Augie do with the spawn of Jero in between him and Nata.
NOK

NOK.

"I hope Jero doesn't fall in any traps and lets her know early on that Nata is his only interest."

Well, good luck with that. Did you see that handshake at the hospital?

I'm guessing that she will listen sympathetically as he whines about his lost love... then offer her shoulder... as well as possibly other body parts... for consolation.

Carlos

I'm so bummed about Detective Cantú. I thought he was hot! He was also one of the more intelligent males around. How would he ever guess that Fina would set him up like that - too bad!

Great recap, Amy. Wow - what an episode!

Audrey

Carlos--I was just hoping, re the good doc. And p.s. sorry for stepping on your body count comment. I have to admit I hadn't gotten there yet.
NOK

"...you support her the way SHE needs the support, not the way you want to support her." Right on, Juan Miguel! That is exactly Chema's problem. He doesn't have the maturity to understand how to support Coni in the right way. I think he and Julieta would make a cute couple, though.

While Adri's accident was a shame, at least it got Honorio and Coni talking again. Let's hope they start making baby steps toward a reconciliation.

NOK, I think we're definitely in for a Renata/Jero baby in the future. Not only because it would draw our lovebirds together but because it would cause a neat conflict for Augie. He's said before that he hates commitments, so I doubt he would want anything to do with baby.

A Marina and Jero hookup seems sweet but it will end in heartbreak for Marina. Jero is way too strung out on Nata to give her what she deserves. Maybe the writers can rustle up a hunky grape-picker for her.

Amy

Loved the recap, Amy. Thanks for all the detail.

Interesting that while Daniel was being grilled at the police station, BSC Blaaaaaaanca was busy 'grilling' herself! We kept hoping the flame would find her hair!!!

Thank you Amy! Loved the accompanying pictures! Great lines too, especially about Padre's gossipy heart.

Chema - I do have to admit that Chema was Mr. I anoche and I, too, will be delaying my tee order. Maybe Julieta would be a better match for him, but did anyone else see that spit fly out of her mouth?

Gitana - I think we're seeing a new Gitana. Remember when they were discussing if she'd lost weight a few weeks ago? I think they got a tad smaller, but much better behaved horse. Gitana #1 was kind of uncooperative. This one seems calmer.

Gonzalo - After your comments the past few days I concentrated on listening to Gonzalo's voice. It is lovely. But, does he have to put his chin to his chest and look up through the tops of his eyes so much? It's almost like he always has a burp.

Roberta - Looks like her hair has been lightened and now matches Renata's whose hair matches Regina's. Any possible trust fund plotline that could be enhanced by Roberta's hair matching Regina's? I can't stand to think of it.

Marina - Lila that was so funny about her top looking like the Minoan Snake Goddess! So close! What niece would wear that when visiting their tio who is el Padre? I did NOT like hearing a little song when she watched Jero walk away. I don't want them to have a song! Not yet! My emotions are still too raw... like a backside having made love on a tree branch.

The Over-Actor - Did anyone else notice and LOL at the bandaged man in the hospital who was standing behind Coni and Chema during their talk? It's worth re-winding, if you missed it.

Mujeres alb borde de un attaque de nervios - I went to Amazon.com and ordered it! In an effort to save $5 in shipping I spent another $20 and also ordered Volver and All About My Mother.

Have a wonderful fin de semana, everyone!

Rosemary la Otra

Amy thank you for a great recap. Most of the clever things have already been said but thanks for the useful vocabulary review. I have a few questions.
1.) I don't remember who had the gun at the Rafa/Fina final scene, actually only scene. So are we sure it was entirely unplanned?
2.) Isn't Doctora a gynochologist, won't she probably be the first to discover if Renata gets pregnant. And I do hope she will let Jero off the hook by clearing him of the Roberta pregnancy, by date if not by DNA.
3.) Didn't Cantu ever update his partern or associate? His sloppiness is remarkably un detective like but maybe is for a private eye who doesn't want to share discoveries.

Gitana number one seemed taller and more high toned. They may not have been able to pay the fee to use a real champion quality horse. I love this current one too, like I liked both Adriana's. Dr. Carlos, I might add to my order of a tshirt saying I heart Gitana we need to keep her in goo oats while people fight over her.

OT: Rosemary La O--I hope you like all three of them. They're very good. Take your time to digest each little gem.

Almodovar did another one that takes a bit longer to like and enjoy, it's called Hable con Ella. And, if you end up liking his genre of films, check out Bad Education, starring that adorable Gael Garcia Bernal.

Gael also starred in Dot the I (not an Almodovar film), one I enjoy watching over again. Don't pay any attention to the reviews and if you are interested in seeing it, don't read the Wikipedia synopsis. (I think this one is in English.)

Cheryl--I'm pretty sure Fina brought the gun with her from MC to LaBonita. Who can be sure she didn't intend to use it ahead of time, but maybe she thought that having it with her she could better threaten Rafa to do her bidding. She didn't count on his trying to get the gun away from her.

It's raining here, ruined my day weeding, so I'm getting into the CarayCaray weeds instead.

All Righty!! Darth Fina's gone overt w/ her killing and, yea verily, her demise will be something to behold. BSCB - hey, the self abuse reminded me of the albino monk in "The DaVinci Code" with his array of flesh mortification devices and also the original Dirty Harry where the killer pays a guy to beat him bloody so he can accuse Dirty Harry of police brutality. That only leaves the question of whom will be BSCB's accusee.

Anyone think there's a chance of Maury Povich making a cameo appearance to resolve the Roberta's baby daddy question?

Thanks Amy for the great recap complete with pictures! We're all on the same page here: great show, unexpected twists. I sure hope the writers don't try to cook up anything between Julieta and Matias. And I certainly hope now that Fina is emboldened and more brazen that Daddy Conehead doesn't let slip his suspicions about her. It seems unlikely the writers would kill him but I'm afraid somebody else has got to die. Isidro and Toni are the closest to the truth.

Anybody know what the relationship between Cantu and the stoolie is (what is it, Soto?) Is it possible he could have a huge change of heart with Cantu's murder and be instrumental in turning Fina in? More likely he'll press for his "payment" and Fina will put him out of her misery!

Lila

Love the title...now there's another crazy song going through my head tho'.

Like Lila, I was flummoxed by the doctora's Frederick's of Hollywood garb. Hardly the recommended outfit for visiting Padre Tio in sleepy small town. But whatever. Certainly got a welcoming smile out of Jero.

Hope we won't have any more scenes of Blanca torturing herself, but have to give the writers credit for piling on the action and horror fast and furious. Now the question is: will Renata's Tree of Love assignation lead to fertility?

Thanks especially for the extra vocab, Amy, and the stunning pictures. Always appreciated.

Terrific, recap Amy; chock full of details with great pictures. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to the Caray aficionados. Re AH, he is good looking with a beautiful smile, but
Qué lástima, he needs Lessons from Levy when it comes to his kissing -
definitely thin-lipped, luke warm and lame - for sure not passionately provocative and sensual.

An Array of Hair Colors - The doctor, Martha Julia, played
Rodrigo's bleached blonde, sleeping around wife in
Destilando Amor, a very big role; I think she played a mean red head in Niña de mi Corazón,and I saw her recently in another role but can't remmber. So far with this role, her character has

When I saw Blanca abusing herself,
my first thought was that she was
going to accuse H. of beating her, but perhaps not. What a drastic change from her loving, supportive role in Mi Pecado. I canot stand looking at her now.

Missing phrase in above comment:

Re the doctor...
her character has Integrity.

NOK, Thanks for the confirmation on Fina having the gun not Rafa. That is what I thought. So how can we consider this "an accident" when she went for a conversation with her daughter's beloved with a gun in her bag. It's just too crazy and violent and on some levels too premeditated. I can't picture an oops, I just pulled this gun out and oops my finger is on the trigger and oops, the guy I want to get away from my daughter is sliding toward the floor creating a pool of blood. I also credit her nastiness for pushing Roberto into the glass which precipitated a heart attack. Now how handy that she got Gustavo to off Cantu then she does in Gustavo. She gets points for being a neat, organized psychopath. And I just wonder who could be next. All those relatives need to start locking thier doors.

Lila:
"Anybody know what the relationship between Cantu and the stoolie is (what is it, Soto?) Is it possible he could have a huge change of heart with Cantu's murder and be instrumental in turning Fina in?"

Fina does not inlcude the stoolie family lawyer on her plans. Other than spyng on Gina for her, he knows nothing else. He knows nothing of Cantu (other than seeing him with Gina) or Gustavo. And the reason he thinks he's spying on Gina is because Gonzo is doing Fina wrong by having an affair with Gina. The only really illegal thing he's done for her, for which he wants her to pay him with some sugar, is changing the pre-nup. Otherwise, his work with the company/family is on the up and up, like the interrogation of Daniel and the other ways he's been helping them with this fraud case.

I'm sure she will either eventually ask him to do something more for her, or bump him off if he insists about the lovin'.

To Cap'n Sylvia from Thursday and to Amy from Friday...GRACIAS!!! I have only gotten to see 2 parts of Thursday's capitulo on Daily Motion (Thank you Cap'n!), but both of you had such wonderfully detailed recaps that were a joy to read!

So much happening!! SO MUCH!!!

Agree that La Doctora is going to offer body parts to Jero. I suspect he will gladly partake.

Even though we knew Cantu was going to meet an early demise, I am still sad that he had to die.

Gustavo never knew what hit him and Malafina of the UGLY eyes continues on a roll.

Batty Blana is sickening. I think it will be hard for me to see this actriz in another role and not feel some 'discomfort' at seeing her. I STILL feel the same way about Glen Close to this day!

Agree that Gitana is better off either with Jero or with Augie. If she were to be brought back to Palacio Monterubio, she could suffer the same fate as Cantu.

As I've mentioned before (and mention again because the point keeps coming up), distance is no issue in transporting the mare. For long distance hauls, horses are transported in large and roomy boxes with qualified personnel on hand. Many people will haul their own horses cross country themselves (I have used both ways). Can it be a physiologic stress on the horse? Of course, but knowledgeable owners/transporters are aware and address it up front. Rest is not required before transport. Appropriate rest is required after transport.

Thank you again, Amy and Cap'n Sylvia!!! SUPERB!!!

Susanita

Susanita- I definitely remember the great info you shared with us about transporting horses! But in this tn, they are making a big deal about it, so I think it is one of the factors for Nata not immediately jumping to say ship my horse back to D.F. Now that Fina is in control of the house (and stables), that will be the next reason why she doesn't have her horse shipped back. Meaning, it will be yet one more reason why she'll have to go back to wine country from time to time. Which is where I wish we would stay most of the time, actually. But there aren't a lot of reasons for our heroine to be there right now.

Thanks, Vivi, for the clarification on Soto and Cantu. I used to mix them up?! So. What is Tony going to do now without his evidence against Finmonster? He's not a compelling rival for Gina's affections, that is, I don't see him as an indispensible character, perhaps Fina will find out Cantu was hired by Tony and finish the job the bull started?! We all know it's too soon for her to be totally outed!

Lila

Since we know that the pretty doctor will become close friends with Jerry and Jerry is currently caring for Gitana (well, his people are)... here's a hypothetical:

Which of the two, Gitana or Jerry, would it be the most disturbing for Marina to ride?

Hi, Susanita, I've been missing you the past couple of days, have you met the new Matilde?

Carlos

LOL Carlos! I would actually feel way worse about Marina riding Gitana, than her riding Jero...

Yes, Antonio has information on Pepa/Fina, but he could be soooo upset that Regina and Gonzalo... a-hem, how do I word this politely.... "got together" so quickly, all without Gonzalo being gored by a bull or taking her on a trip, that out of spite he will keep the information to himself. That would leave Isidro needing to come forward.

Rosemary la Otra

Carlos your hypothetical is hilarious but I will gladly bite. Here is my vote: I am on the I adore Gitana team even though I am also on the I like Jero side but Doctora should stay away from our beloved Gitana and take her chances with the Jero carnival ride. We already know he will spend much more time in Doofuslandia.

Amy excellent recap and thank you.

So BSC Blanca is more crazier than we thought? That scene was real creepy.

Looked like Julieta was also instantly interested in Matias.

Until Roberta comes clean about her lie she slept with Jerko and he was the father of her child she is not redeemable.I don't even think she will come clean but someone will put and two together and revealed her latest lie.

Chema so very inappropriate dude. Get a grip now not the time to be Mack Daddy here ok!!!!

Carlos just because Jerko said he was sorry and they made love on the love tree doesn't mean they have reconciled or she should forgive him. That's a typical male pov right there.

Bravo for Renata for still leaving him despite still loving him but realizing what he did marrying her for revenge was very sick and twisted and so not appropriate.

Auggie was gleeful finding out Renata didn't reconcile with Jerko wasn't he?

Fina oh my she is definitely going to be on a murdering roll now. What in the world was Cantu thinking meeting Gustavo in that wooded secluded area. His partner may have some info but not all of the info but i'm sure he will be hot on the trail of who killed Cantu.

Antonio may confront Fina about what he knows trying to recover Regina as his.

I get the feeling a major character is going to get bumped off but who?

Once again i'm enjoying two great novelas back to back in CME and Teresa. It's a joy to see writers who aren't lazy or sloppy or just don't care about their audiences intelligence at all and write basura and think it's good TV see TDA. Love both of these novelas and would love to see more produced with the same type of captivating creativity.

Wouldn't it be lovely for Fina to be convicted of premedidated murder and sentenced to life without parole for what was the "accidental" killing of Rafa? Poetic justic indeed.

Yeah, I know, she took the gun with her--all the better to convict her with, since Rafa isn't there to say what really happened.

Wonder how she and the clientele will get along in Mexico's finest reclusorio para mujeres!

Amy, what a superb recap! I was really looking forward to coming home tonight and enjoying your recap and this episode. And what an episode it was too. There wasn't a dull moment the entire hour. The surprise twist at the end was first rate.

Emilia, "BSC Blaaaaaaanca was busy 'grilling' herself", too funny! I like your way with words. My oh my, who knew she was actually that nutso? The scene with the lighter totally creeped me out.

Rosemary la O, I did rewind to see the over-acting bandaged guy behind Coni and Chema. What a performance, and not a word.

Carlos, I'm another vote for Doctora-riding-Gitana being the worse offense. Since she and Jero already have a song I'm pretty sure their pairing is a done deal.

Dang, Fina is a bona fide serial killer now. I was on the fence trying to decide whether Cantu or Gustavo would get it first. Little did I know there would be a double-down!

Amy, thanks again for your terrific recap, complete with pictures and interesting vocab.
