Teresa Thu 8/4/11 #109 Apparently Teresa has a heart. Medically, at least.

Lo siento, (I always say this at the beginning of each recap!) this is a "barebones" recap because I am running behind. This is the only way I'll get this recap up in time. I wrote this on the fly, as the episode was showing. I was recording it on my computer and didn't want to pause it. So I KNOW I missed stuff. Please fill in blanks and correct any errors! Thank you!

TERESA, EPISODE 109, August 4, 2011

Saenz's widow comes over, waves a gun around, there is a scuffle, and Teresa is shot.

Patty and Johnny talk while Johnny is in his bed, recovering from his wounds.

Juana comes over and looks on in horror at Teresa's wounded body. Professor Hottie is absolutely beside himself with grief and fear. He yells to Juana to call the Mexican 911, which she does.

Much crying and wailing over Teresa. Guess who the Mexican 911 brings, but Mariano! His look of anguish at seeing her bleeding body is very telling.

He rushes to help her and we get some rather graphic closeups of the bleeding wound. Aurora and her dad hear about Teresa at the hospital. Aurora is freaked out and worried.

Gramps visits Johnny and Patty and doesn't seem all that sympathetic about Johnny being beat up.

Reina the maid tells Geno about Teresa's misfortune through the house gates. Geno has come to put up a for sale sign on their house.

Fito looks on as Geno and Reina get the for sale sign set up. He wonders why they're selling their house.

Teresa is rushed through the hospital hallways, as the doctors quickly yell medical-babble about her condition. It looks very serious.

Armando and Refugio talk about his employment troubles at home, and Aurora comes in to tell them the news about Teresa. They talk at once, very upset of course. Refugio prays to the Virgin Mary for help.

At the hospital, Professor Hottie asks Mariano how is Teresa. Tell me the truth. Mariano says that they have to wait and see. No vital organs were hit.

Geno comes to visit Rubigote in the Big House and has some news.

Juana talks with Mariano about Teresa's care. Mariano is really distressed, wishing he could do more. Juana tells Mariano that Teresa really loves Arturo. She took the bullet meant for him, after all. Mariano seems really broken up about this. Juana tells him it's time to move on.

In private, Mariano cries and can't believe she's forgotten him.

The parents arrive. Juana tells them that a bullet hit near the head and one near the heart. They almost collapse in distress. (Ah! So Teresa does have a heart for real!)

Aurora goes into Mariano's office to see him weeping, his head resting on his desk. Just weeping. It's not important that's she's with Professor Hottie, it's important that she is okay, he cries, and then goes in for a weepy embrace with Aurora.

Mayra visits Rubigote in the Big House and he asks for forgiveness.

More talking with a weepy Mariano and Juana. I think things came into focus when Teresa was shot. He's still not over her but what he wants now is for her to be okay. I know I missed a lot in this scene!

Rubigote asks again for forgiveness and Mayra says that so she won't be bitter, she does forgive him. He seems relieved and thinks this is a good time to ask her to sign a pardon so he can get the heck out of jail. You can see the light switch flip on and she says WHAT? Yeah, she'll forgive him, but not to that extent! After all he's done! The heck with you is what I think she says, before she stalks off. Well, that didn't work out well.

Luisa is working on her laptop and Fernando's place and talking about how she's got to work work work because she wants to help pay off credit cards, blah blah to help her brother. Fernando says he's got something up his sleeve to help Professor Hottie, but he won't say what. Then Professor Hottie calls to tell about Teresa.

More with Mariano teary-eyed over the love with Teresa that wasn't mean to be. He calls another doctor or something about Teresa's surgery, to let him know more about it (?).

Poor Professor Hottie is still beside himself at Teresa's being shot, and tells Refugio that he can't go on without her. Refugio also makes a scene of great distress over Teresa and everyone just looks miserable.

Geno and Aeeeeda are talking and Mayra comes in. They want to know if she signed the pardon for Rubigote? HECK NO! Mayra says and says that's the only reason he apologized in the first place. So he could be off the hook.

At the hospital, Professor Hottie and Refugio are still all bummed out when Mariano comes up and gets a phone call. Turns out they don't have any blood in the blood bank for Teresa. She's the rare blood type AB negative. Impactado looks from everyone.

At Johnny's sickbed, he wants to get up because he needs to work. The pretty blonde doctor says he can't do that. Cutberto is there too. They are talking (I think Johnny is going to use cell phone minutes to call Esperanza) when the doctor asks them if they know hat happened to Teresa. They don't.

Geno is explaining to Mayra that things are really tough for Rubigote, he's going to have a nervous breakdown. Mayra looks concerned about this. Then I think Aida says something about Teresa? (I missed this part because I was typing this recap!)

Patty and Johnny are talking about poor Teresa, and how they can use the cell phone to call Mariano and find out how she's doing. (I think.)  Johnny grunts in pain because he really wants to get up. Grampa comes in and wants to talk to him. I think he says he wants to take Patty away now.

Juana is chatting with Armando in the hospital and Cutberto comes in and offers her a comforting hug.

There's a discussion between Geno and Rubigote at the Big House. I missed something here. They are talking about how they'll have the baby (that they'll steal from Esperanza) but also there's some talk about Mayra and how she trusts Geno? Is Geno feeling guilty? Rubigote tells her to think of nice things, about the kid they're going to raise.

Johnny of course doesn't want to give up Patty. Grampa says they can get a divorce. Johnny isn't going for that.

I think Fernando donated blood to Teresa? Luisa and Professor Hottie are talking with him at the hospital and seem very grateful.

Hernan the Galan visits Johnny and I think says Johnny can't leave his bed. Patty comes in and Gramps says that she's going to go with him.

Juana is really afraid for Teresa and Cutberto offers her comfort. She tells him that Teresa is being operated on my "mi novio," Hector. That dampens Cutberto's mood a bit.

Patty isn't going to go with Gramps. Gramps wants her to reconsider.

There is some talk between Mayra and Geno. I think they're saying that if Teresa dies, then all the real estate land will go to Mayra? I know I missed something again.

We go back to the hospital and everyone is waiting for the news on Teresa's condition. Hector the Director comes in and looks very severe and not happy. Poor Professor Hottie looks stricken, with red-rimmed eyes and waits to hear the news. Suspense!

END OF EPISODE!

Don't apologise, Elvira; that was great.

I'm still not sure on the status of Teresa's shares, but wouldn't they go to Arturo if she didn't make out a will (and she wouldn't have, since most people her age don't think to do so).

Mayra is looking dowdier lately; shouldn't it be the opposite if she's shedding Ruben? Aida should be a good daughter and take her shopping and to the hairdresser.

I can't wait to see her hit the ceiling when she finds out all about Geno and Ruben.

I believe that Juana told Mariano also that Teresa took the bullet for Art, giving that as a reason she knows Tere loves only Art now.
Art was very weird when he was telling Luisa what happened, rather casual-perhaps just poor direction.
I missed the part where Geno heard about Tere's being shot-It didn't seem like they were talking about it.
All in all I was surprised at how little excitement this caused-it seemed like only Tere's parents, Cootberto, Luisa, Fer, Mar, and Hector knew about it.

Thanks ladies! I'm just relieved that the recap is up!

Emarie, I fixed the part about Teresa taking a bullet for Professor Hottie. That makes more sense. Thanks!

Thanks Elvira. Depsite being in a hurry, you got a lot in.

Yes, Juana pointing out that Teresa took a bullet for Art, was key for proving she really does love Art to Mariano.

And when Art and Luisa were talking on the side she mentioned that this brought back all the memories of when their parents were shot (they were also shot on the first floor of the house), and Art agreed. He didn't want to be the one to bring it up to her. So this shooting has way more meaning for the two of them. I think Art is shellshocked.

So we have Teresa's husband Art is beside himself with worry and won'teave her side; her ex Mariano is the first responder (Juana called him and then called 911) and very likely saved her life; and her possible new conquest Fernando provides the life saving blood she needs. All three men played a big role in saving her and I'm sure all three will have some significant hospital beside time with her as she thanks them. A great time to wrap all three around her little finger.

Geno knew Ter was in the hospital because she came to the house after the shooting and got the scoop from Reina. She was worried about what would be happening with Teresa's shares if she dies, and Mayra was horrified, saying that's not what matters. It's one thing to wish things to be difficult for Teresa, it's another thing to hope she dies. I think yesterday's recap made it seem that Mayra had toasted with Geno and Aida to Art's financial woes. She didn't. She toasted to forgiveness. Geno and Aida had toasted to Art's money woes before Mayra came into the room. Mayra may be a naive, snobbish, Stepford wife, but she's not as cruel as Geno and Aida can be.

The previews looked very interesting. It seems that Mar has realized that he never stopped loving Ter and breaks up with Aida. It also looks like Martin proposes! I think Aurora now has every reason to think Mariano will NEVER stop loving Teresa, after seeing his weepy display in the hospital. I'd move on.

Elvira: You amaze me at the detail you provided given you say you were in a rush! My dear...do NOT apologise!!! Thank you so much!

The gaps have been filled in nicely by our fellow CC bloggers!

UA: Funny...I was thinking the same thing about Mayra in terms of her dowdiness. Perhaps, she is still in that period where she is trying to take it all in...Rubigote's deception and betrayal and the fact that she is now a 'new' woman who stood up to him. This has to be hard for her as it is something new for her. It goes against everything she has been and has been taught to be.

I suspect that she will come out of her unconsciously self imposed 'cocoon' and start being a snappy dresser again.

What I really liked about Mayra last night was that she a) realised that Rubigote just wanted her pardon so that he could get his free "Get Out of Jail" card. b) told Flash Back to the 80s Geno that her feelings were wrong (in terms of Teresa dying, etc).

Mayra is on her road to rehab!!

Geno and Aida, on the other hand, (especially Geno) don't look to me like they stand a chance at rehab and redemption.

I think it is laughable how Geno thinks that Rubigote won't pull any stunts on her. Open your eyes, woman!

I was deeply touched by Mariano's reaction to Teresa's shooting. I will admit to you that I shed some tears right along with him. I thought it was an excellent scene. Diaz made this so incredibly believable. Those cries came from his heart and soul. As painful as it was for him, it made him acknowledge his feelings.

You could see his visceral response to Juana telling him that Tiny Terror had taken the bullet for Art. What an excellent story line on the part of the writers and very well directed, too!

I felt that there were so many subtle, but so very important emotions and feelings that were displayed last night...Mariano...Aurora seeing the depth of Mariano's hurt...Handsome Fer feeling 'something' after having donated his A negative blood to Teresa...Art and Luisa reliving the death of their parents.

Art is drained...he is physically, emotionally, and mentally spent. I am loving Sebastian in this and will repeat, once again, that I think he is giving a much better performance here relative to what Colunga (mind you...I love Colunga) did in STuD.

I hope we see Rulli in more of these meaty roles. I believe he, himself, stated at the premios night that he felt he had truly grown as an actor in in this role. I am so excited for all of his acting possibilities!!

I am also glad that Odiosa Oriana was not involved in any of last night's scenes. That would have just shut everything down.

There is really no telling what will happen next, but I am wondering how Fito the Maldito is going to react when he finds out that Art and Tere are in dire straits.

I can see why this TN had everyone spell bound in Mexico. I am so glad we have many more capitulos to go!!!

I should clarify one thing...some of the emotions last night were there for everyone to see, but underneath those emotions were the more subtle, but even more important feelings that only the characters themselves know. That is what had me enthralled!

Wowsers. Two wonderful TN that I am following now. I can't believe my good fortune!

You're a treasure Elvira getting this up and hitting all the marks.

About the only time I found myself smiling was one Art tells Juana to call for help, and who does she call? Mariano - I agree he must be the Town 911.

But after that - well, too much Johnni and Grumps for me. And Geno is more and more convincing me she has a few screws loose - or all those years of bleaching and spraying her hair has affected her brain. Loved the fact that Marya is staying strong and taking no nonsense from scumbucket. Aeeeeddda - I just give up.

Susanita - I could not agree more with Mariano's reactions last night. So heartfelt, and AD just nailed it so Affectively. Sobbing at that table - gees, and then sobbing with Aurora. I had to reach for a kleenex myself.

But I agree - that wasn't what Aurora wanted to see or hear (which probably explains the previews.)

I also can understand Art's reaction. There is a point after the shock and initial crying, etc pn his part, that you just feel spent. Almost as if you have nothing left to give. I know that feeling. It makes you look emotionless, but it is anything but.

Hector didn't look too positive - and I rather liked the fact they didn't show ( a'la TDA) stupid, worthless operating room scenes, and just let us stay in unknowing suspense. (well done). So now we get to sit on the edge of our seats like Arturo. (And I'll add Fer - he was hiding it, but that boy is taking it bad. And interesting he is the one who "saves her life" with the blood transfusion. Little Terror may just use that oh so effectvely.)

At least tonight I can catch on TV versus catching quick online this morning. can't wait to see what happens.

daisynjay: I am so glad I was not alone in reaching for the tissues! What a scene Mariano gave us!

You know whose face I really wanted to slap? REFUSIO's!!! Honestly...at this juncture you are still calling Art 'licenciado' (spelling?) GIVE. ME. A. BREAK! This woman needs to get a grip.

Susanita

Thanks Elvira for the recap. What a suspenseful episode this was. Teresa took two bullets. Wow. Arturo was so beside himself and so was Mariano. Interesting that Fernando was a match for Teresa's rare blood type.

Of course when Aida hears this she will gloat some more.

Fito wondering why the house is being sold. Duh because of you doofus.

Hector did look grim faced as he came to tell them how Teresa fared in the surgery. Can't wait.

Elvira, you got most of the story. It never fails to amaze me that you can just type this as it goes along.

Vivi, thank you for clarifying the conversations with Geno and Mayra. I was confused, I guess that Aieeeda didn't seem to have much of a response, in spite of all her past gloating over Teres change of fortune.
ITA-Mayra is a normal person with a decent value system, once she sees the truth, she gets it. But Geno is really evil-already knows the truth, so I can't see any redemption for her.

And, yes, Mariano, so touching, so heartbreaking. Aurora must have seen the truth by now. What wonderful acting!

ITA Vivi, Tere will have all three men on a string. She can use this, and use this, and use this....

Ok, I have to say it, but it is only my theory:
NO, Tere didn't take the bullet as a sign of some new and undying love for Art.
(Remember her ranting and raving at the big Teddy Bear the other night, "I gave up my one true love for this?")
It was self-preservation. The woman with the gun was threatening something that belongs to Tere (Art). She is like a tiger anytime she feels she is being threatened or slighted by anyone. She went after the woman with the gun because she thought she could stop her without getting hurt-she's a risk taker, not a saint. She's a shark, remember? The only thing she is really afraid of is poverty! Poverty must be prevented at all cost.
Let's put it this way, she is a gambler. She risked her true love in hopes of marrying and getting money from Art (and whoever else that came along). She risks having Art find out when she snuggles up to Fer, if you look at her past behaviors you'll see a lot of risky stuff.

Thank you for the recap Elvira!

I really enjoyed this episode on rewatch. At least someone in a telenovela remembered 060, even if Juana ended up calling Mariano.

I thought Aarón did some of the best acting I've ever seen of him in this episode. Loved the scene with Aurora because they were both in pain and it wasn't just about Teresa but about his inability to let her go and them both painfully recognizing it.

I don't know if I'd put that much stock on what Teresa says, over what she does. I think Teresa lives in her own world of delusions. Not that this means that I do believe what she did was more an act of love than an impulse. I don't really know and I even wonder if she does herself.

Poor Arturo, it's been one thing after another. Losing the Sáenz case, losing his money and now possibly losing Teresa while being shocked at seeing a women he possibly saw as a friend shooting her.

Jarocha

No. Way. Can. Teresa. Die.
There are still 8 weeks to go.

I don't know why people still think she will go after Fern. At this point, it would not be plausible for her to dump Art (she took 2 bullets for him) an hook Fern (he has professed his love to Luisa over and over with no ulterior motive).
This novela has pretty much played with very reasonable plot lines. There have not been any WTF moments. The plot has moved explainably well. (unlike others, ehemmm).

One thing, Rubigote was "sweet talkin' " Geno just to get out of jail. He was telling her everything she wants to hear, i.e. them being together; raising "their" son. Rubigote knows she is his only chance of getting out. But I don't think he means any of what he's telling her.

I am staunchly on Teresa's team. She will come out of this still in love with Art, she will be the one to figure out how to get out of their current predicament. (I believe she is a tad smarter lawyer than Art. And he is suppose to be the best in Mexico).

Now of Fito would just get himself killed. That plot line can end now, thank you.

What was going on with Paty/Johny? Have no idea since every one of their scenes received a press on the
FF button.

Aáron Diaz did a wonderful job. You could see as well as feel his heartache. He played a crying man very well, no girlyness at all. If I'm not mistaken, he realized it's over
between him and Ter?

I have to give props to Sebastían Rulli as well. His crying yesterday in Ter's arms were done extremely well. Also very believable and no girlyness. His tears brought tears to me, not so with Mar. I guess that proves I am also 100% Team Arturo!

Can't wait for tonight's cap!

Diann

Thank you for the great recap even though you were very busy!
I also think that Ter didn't take a bullet for Arturo, she's too selfish for that. She figured the wife wanted to kill Arturo not her, and that she wouldn't shoot her. Oops!
Aurora finally realized Mariano is off limits for her, unless she wants a miserable life.
The Fer blood thing is interesting. Now Ter has a reason to be all over him thanking him for her life. I don't think he will be able to resist this. This also brings them emotionally closer to each other.
Poor Luisa, her goose is cooked. She lost her money and her man!
Too much Johnny for me in this episode, but oeverall it was very good!
Did you guys know Geno was a beauty contestant? Miss Mexico or something. Amazing.

Wow, only 8 weeks left? I am so going to miss this TN!
Diann, I agree with you there haven't been that many improbable moments, it is a very well done TN. The acting has been very good. No beanie required.

Given that there were three viable (and filmed) ends to this tn, it's clear that the writers are going to keep us guessing about Teresa's path up till the end. Meaning that we all could be right in our theories about Teresa's feelings and plans for Art, Fer and Mariano. Wouldn't it be cool if they showed all three finales? Then let the audience debate which one they liked more. I bet each one would have high ratings.

Looking forward to the exchange between Mar and Aeeeeda as I think this will be el fin for them and a sign of whether Aeeeeda's going to grow or not.

Glad that Aurora seems to get that Mar will always love Ter. At this point even if the story eventually gets Mar and Aurora together, I don't think I would be convinced that he's as passionate about Aurora as he's been about Ter.

On Refugio still calling Art "Licenciado," could this be a deeply entrenched cultural thing?

Refugio still sees Art as above herself and so she is still formal with him. Her calling him Licenciado is a sign of respect, not disrespect. Yes, it's impersonal. But it's not like Teresa has been hosting family dinners and get togethers so that Refugio can start to feel more familiar with Art and refer to him in the familiar tu/first name vs the formal Ud/title.

There's a critic here in México called Álvaro Cueva reviews telenovelas although one problem I had with him is that he seems to see only in black and white most of the time. A novela is either fantastic or just plain horrible in his point of view.

Most of the time though, I like the same ones he does, and he loved Teresa. One of the things he made compliments to the writers was the fact that it went back to real human melodrama, that the feelings of the characteres were the real reason we were watching the story, not necessarily all the action that was happening on screen.

I saw that perfectly exemplified here: While another director would have played up the shooting scene for all it was worth (high music, slow motion, big caras impactadas) and then the hospital scenes (the operation room) what we got to see here, as everybody mentions, was this little moment that lasted less than a minute and caused an explosion of emotions that wouldn't have made any sense if we hadn't have all that story behind us.

And this is what many Teresa detractors complain about. I've seen in several forums that nothing ever happens in Teresa, there are just conversations and a small moment of action every 30 episodes. Which I find funny, because what made many people enjoy this novela so much is what turns off others from it (besides the fact that some aren't up for the protagonist who are also antagonist types).

Jarocha

Elvira i truly enjoyed your recap and thank you so much.

So now Mariano knows that Teresa took the bullets to protect Arturo. He cries over learning that Teresa is over him. Great scene for Aaron Diaz he nailed it and i felt his heartache and was deeply moved by him. Yes Aurora knows he still loves Teresa but she was there for still because she cares deeply for Teresa as a friend.

Ruben haha no free get out of jail card for you Mladito Dumba$$ Fito Bandito. Now why do you think Teresa and her husband are now selling their house? Because she kept some of the crucial papers for the Saenz case dumba$$ you killed your cash cow.

I can't wait for Geno to be discovered this woman is crazy and awful.

I believe Fernando's surprise is he's going to buy Arturo and Luisa's house as a wedding gift for her so they get to keep it.

I was also moved by Sebastian Rulli i've never been a big fan of his but he definitely surprised me with his acting in this.

Susanita i'm with you it's just so enjoyable to turn on the TV and watch to intelligent well written novelas back to back. Now that's must see TV.

Jarocha i guess it's all according to one's taste but i'm loving this novela right along with CME. I'm so tired of stupid novelas and sloppy and lazy writing, producing and directing. I was just floored last night how realistic the hospital scene was. Even after the shooting Mariano coming over to to give Teresa medical attention until the ambulance arrived. That scene was very realistic than what we normally get in novelas.

When Fernando came out after donating blood to Teresa and Arturo asked him how it went, it seemed to me he gave Arturo an angry look. Did anybody else notice that? Does he blame Arturo for Teresa getting shot?

Victoria in FL.

Vivi, you are right, if there are three endings I would love to see all of them.

So after this exciting episode from last night several things made me think about some of these characters and how much they have in common.

Ruben married a woman he never loved for her money at the time he was dating Geno but either she wasn't rich enough or probably wasn't as successful as she is now. So Ruben took the sure and instant ready millions thing Mayra.Teresa did the same thing but difference between these two is Teresa was in love with Mariano but Ruben only loves himself.

Geno carried a torch all of these years for a man he threw her over for someone who had a bigger and better bank account. She has connived and lied behind her BFF back and is now carrying on a affair with her husband. Mariano was thrown over by Teresa because he wasn't ambitious enough and didn't dream big at the time when he Was with Teresa. Arturo had the ready made lifestyle that Teresa wanted and at that time Mariano wasn't on the same page as Teresa. They would have had affair but were interrupted several times.

Mariano decided to move on from Teresa but as we all saw last night deep inside a part of him will always love her.

Aurora she has had plenty of chances to go after the man she wanted but she doesn't think the timing was ever right. or she was manipulated by Teresa in not going after Mariano. She has been a good friend to both but i don't want her to settle with a man she doesn't love enough to be happy with.

Aeeeeeeeeeeeda she will never get it she is a cross between her father selfish and mean and gets physical if she has too. She has a cruel streak a mile long and is obsessive.

What she has is common with her dear old dad is she believes she deserved Paulo because she love him for the longest and they came from the same social circle. Just like Ruben believed he deserved to take and use Mayra's money for himself. But start a relationship with a gullible girl and keep her tied to him as he stay married to Mayra.

Not willing to let go of her even though she told him repeatedly it's over. She also is obsessed like Geno and nasty about gloating over her enemies misfortune. These two can dish it out but once on the receiving end of being embarrassed neither can handle it.Self centered and selfish to the core it's all about their wants and needs and they don't care who they step on to achieve it.

Now for Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda finally and it's about time i so wanted this relationship to end before it begin she was never deserving of Mariano. If anything i felt Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda and Mariano enter into this relationship just to get back at Teresa and because how she felt about each one of them individually.

This was like several have said Mariano's rebound relationship to help him move forward from Teresa. The good aspects about this relationship for Mariano it helped him get ahead in his career because of Aeeeeeeeda's encouragement and i guess him wanting to show Teresa as his motivation. Mariano has become quite successful and a up and coming go getter in his society.

He still has a allegiance to his roots. He will never forget or abandon those he grew up with and love and care for. This is something self centered Aeeeeeeeeeda never learned nor will ever get as she look down upon the people he grew up with it.

I can't even imagine Mariano would ever think that Aeeeeeeeeeda could comfort him like Aurora did last night as he cried over Teresa.I think last night that perhaps was when Mariano realized it's time to end his relationship with. Aeeeeeeeeeeeeda.

Can you imagine oh Mi Amor don't cry it's only Teresa anyway La Rata de Vecindad after all. SO id did my happy dance and shouted to heavens as i watched that preview of Aeeeeeeeeeeeeda being dumped and she can't believe it also either.

Several scenes flashed but i do remember seeing her looking into Teresa's room as she lies there Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda. You just know she is going to make one of her nasty typical comments.

Martin proposing to Aurora it looked like she accepted but i think in this instance she is like Juana who is in love with Buttberto but is engaged to Hector. Don't do it Aurora.

I feel there's a reason also why Mariano dumps Aeeeeeeeeeda if you can't go to the person you're in love with to help get you through emotional pain and help console you who can you go to then? I believe while Mariano has a part of him that will love and care for Teresa he can put that away and love someone else. I think he now realizes that person isn't Aeeeeeeeeeeda and hopefully he woke up and realizes it's Aurora.

One other thing about Geno her selfishness puts her on the same level as Ruben that's why they get along so well. She is going to take and steal Espe's baby because it's apart of Ruben and her obsession with Ruben just like Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeda obsession with Paulo even after finally getting him she was still consumed about him being near Teresa. The same applies to Geno and with Espe.

She's in for a rude awakening because Ruben is a manipulator of women even his own daughter he goes to great lengths to lie and get what he wants. He knows how to say the right thing most of the time until he is caught red handed. He's using Geno right now because he is desperate to get out of jail. Once he's out it will be interesting how he's going to explain why he's staying with Geno to his daughter.

Wait until he hears that Espe has moved on with Hernan.

Teresa is not the only sick and twisted person in this novela there's a lot of work for some therapist with a lot of these characters.

Elvira: You did a terrific job despite your needing to rush, so thanks! You always come through for us, and that means a great deal. Thanks also to the others who helped fill in the few missed details! Much appreciated also!

I give kudos to both Rulli and Diaz. They emoted so realistically I totally forgot I was watching a tv program. I could feel Arturo's tremendous shame and angst as well as his guilt for having lost the case and causing Saenz's suicide, the loss of his patrimony, the wife's nervous breakdown and the piece de resistance: Teresa's getting shot and remaining at Death's door, and all this after sleeping with PatPal early on in his marriage. Like Jarocha said, it wouldn't be possible to perceive the actor's subtleties without having kept up with the storyline to this point. Marvelous!

The same goes for Diaz in his ability to relive whatever similar situation in our own lives relevant to his realization that the true love of his life had apparently moved on with her life and forgot him. The passion he feels is no longer requited and the open wound --well, it's like losing one's limb or a hand or foot without the benefit of a tourniquet. You just bleed out.

At this point even if the story eventually gets Mar and Aurora together, I don't think I would be convinced that he's as passionate about Aurora as he's been about Ter.
-------------------

Mariano will never be as passionate with any woman like he was with Teresa.

But it's not for Aurora to figure that out and move on, it's for Mariano to figure that out and move on.

Great analysis of the characteres Blu! Yes, some of them are more twisted than Teresa. Yet, they act as if Teresa were much worse. Aída needs to grow up and out of her obsession especially. I don't think Geno thinks straight anymore if she ever did and that could be Aída's future if she doesn't watch it.

Jarocha

Jarocha Aeeeeeeeeeeda's future is a combination of Geno and Odiosa Oriana and neither is a good combination. The sad thing is i don't think any of the three men in her life have truly loved her at all. Most importantly her father. With Paulo he got together with her because he knew his mother would approve of them being together.

The fact that he tried to make Teresa his mistress on the side was very telling. I don't believe if he had lived they would have been married for long.

Mariano he always told her he wants to get to know her better and lets take their time learning about each other. She thinks most guys will accept her and her constant rants but this is where she is delusional.

She tried to controlled both Paulo and Mariano and make them into her ideal men. Paulo was only going to what was necessary to maintain his lifestyle.

Mariano changed gradually but the one constant with him was telling her he would not give up or distance himself from the people he grew up with loved and cared for. She seemed to think eventually he would come around to her way of thinking.

That's why i laughed when she getting all territorial saying that Mariano was hers and Teresa wasn't getting him back. She never saw the writing on the wall. Looks like tonight she finally sees she never had a chance with Mariano.

How can one expect someone to change for them and meet their standards when they themselves aren't willing to change. That's Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda in a nutshell.

As for Ruben she built up this fantasy of the perfect father because she didn't know that Ruben was carrying on a affair on the side. I don't believe Espe was his first one either by the way he used to talk to Arturo. Once she discover that her great day is a cheater and with someone from Teresa's neighborhood and her BFF no less he really fell down in her eyes.

Blu, that's a brilliant analysis.

Something else occurred to me about Fernando being the only match to donate blood: Could this mean they are somehow related?

We've been speculating on Oriana's background for some time. She rants too much about breeding and class distinctions to really feel confident about it all. Possibly is she related somehow to Refusio or Armando, thereby nullifying any legal possibility of a relationship between Tiburoncita and Fernando?

Re Refusio calling Art 'licenciado'. I have never found her to be disrespectful nor did I mean to imply that I thought she was.

In addition, even though Art and Tere do not socialise that much with Ter's parents, I think they have been together long enough that Refusio could call him Arturo.

Juana calls him that without any problem at all.

In the beginning, Refusio simply refused to believe that Teresa would consider being with someone else besides Mariano.

She had a hard time accepting Art. The tone of her voice has definitely changed, in my view, from way back when to now. There is not an edge (which I felt was there initially) to her voice when she calls him licenciado nor is there disrespect, but it's just neutral.

One would think she could have progressed beyond neutral.

That was my point.

Blusam: Wonderful analysis, amiga! WONDERFUL!!!

Remember, Juana lives with Teresa and Art and has since before they got married. She has spent way more time with Art than Refugio has. At this point I think it's just habit too.
