Teresa Thu 8/18/11 #119 Professor Hottie's Steely Side

Teresa Episode 119, Aug 18, 2011—Professor Hottie's Steely Side.

Here is the completed recap, written as the episode ran! So I missed a few things, lo siento! And I'm sorry for the "from memory" summary I put up before, obviously watching two episodes back-to-back befuddled me because half my summary was from Wednesday's episode! LOL! Well, here is the actual recap. I might try to add screencaps, as I captured the episode on my computer (but it is now processing).

EPISODE 119

We start with a tearful Professor Hottie vowing to make Teresa pay. Fernando looks so confused and concerned.

We then go to Juana and Luisa talking with Teresa about what's going on between her and Professor Hottie.

Professor Hottie is telling Fernando about how poor Teresa started out, and how much he admired her for overcoming her humble beginnings—with a debt-ridden dad and sick mom. But all the time she just wanted his money.

Fernando tries to talk Professor Hottie out of his angry revenge talk. But Professor Hottie is still hot . . . hot with rage!

Juana and Luisa are talking with Teresa and they come to the conclusion that Mariano's dad (or Cutieberto?), the chofer, has been spreading gossip.

More with Professor Hottie's revenge talk as Fernando looks on concerned. If he isn't happy, neither will she be happy!

Cutieberto and Mariano talk about betraying women at a bar. (Or something)

In the bedroom, a scantily clad Teresa puts the moves on a shirtless Professor Hottie. He raises her in his arms and says she's the most adorable liar he's ever known. She looks uncertain at this.

Later on in bed. Professor Hottie and Teresa and laying side by side, looking kind of disappointed, and Professor Hottie is saying that things are hard because of all that has just happened.

He tells her that he wants the truth now. She crawls back in bed and gives all this bullcrap about how she always wanted him, blah blah, blah. When he was her teacher, blah blah blah. He doesn't seem convinced. He says he wants to forget it. She does the te amo te amo routine with him. He seems to be getting into the mood and turns off the lights, but then he flashes to her doing it with Mariano and the mood is killed. "No! No puedo!" he says and leaves the marriage bed as Teresa looks befuddled.

Fernando and Luisa have had better luck in their bed, and then start talking about, what else, the troubles between Professor Hottie and Teresa. They see the connection between Fernando's mom and Mariano's dad being mom's chofer. It's a pity that Fernando's mom doesn't accept Teresa, Luisa laments. Fernando makes some allusion to what's going on with Professor Hottie but I don't think he says much. (I miss stuff as I am typing!)

Teresa seeks out Professor Hottie downstairs, where he is drinking in solitude. She puts more moves on him about how she wants to show how much she loves him, blah blah blah. She says if she can forget about Paloma, he should forget about Mariano. He reminds her that Paloma is dead, and Mariano isn't.

Happy stuff with Esperanza's baby, Johnny, Pati, Refugio. Refugio is holding the baby and acting happy. Chatter between all the rest of them. I'm not really that gripped by this scene. Johnny talks about how Pati and he would like a kid some day or something.

Cutiberto barges in on Juana and starts talking about a job he has or something? (I've obviously missed something here.) He takes a call on his CELL PHONE (woo) and is being called to go to a hotel for some lady. Juana's eyes get as big as saucers and she is obviously jealous, which apparently was Cutieberto's whole purpose in coming over.

Fernando's mom has visited and you know she's expecting to hear news of a divorce, but Professor Hottie assures he that isn't going to happen as Teresa looks on with a supremely smug look on her face.

At the hospital, Mariano tells Aurora that (I think) Professor Hottie knows all about how he and Teresa were going to run away on the day of the boa. Aurora gives a disgusted look.

Professor Hottie kisses a triumphant-looking Teresa in front of Fernando's mom. There's a look of weird hatred that passes on Professor Hottie's face as he walks away and glances at Teresa.

Aurora starts chewing out Mariano for his blindness, like he can't be happy with any other woman. This is Mariano's cue to manfully grab Aurora and give her a kiss. She's all for it. As they are kissing properly, of course Martin walks by and is witness.

There's some weird sharky conversation between Teresa and Fernando's mom, and mom says she won't let Teresa hurt the people she knows.

A dramatic conversation between Aurora and Mariano. She tells him off. She's not giving up Martin for him. Martin is a great guy. Mariano and her can never be friends, however. Martin overhears this and has an ambivalent look on his face.

Esperanza has brought over bebe to be admired by Teresa and to talk about a party (?). There's some talk of not being able to afford the party? Teresa is holding the baby as if she likes babies or something. Who would have thought. More talk about economic problems.

Aurora says she's gonna be happy with Martin. Mariano says wait. No! I'm TIRED of waiting! She basically says she's tired of all of it, and she's going to make a go with Martin and be happy. Martin doesn't look all that thrilled with how she says this, I don't think.

Esperanza is telling Teresa about how happy she is with Hernan the galán, all after getting over Rubigote.

Teresa calls up Fernando and wants to see him, but not in his apartment(?)

Professor Hottie and Luisa are talking and Luisa is trying to convince Professor Hottie that the chofer is bad and not to believe the stuff he's heard. Professor Hottie says no biggie. He's acting weird and Luisa wonders what's going on. He's still acting weird and oddly quiet and weary.

Teresa meets Fernando at a diner or restaurant. Nice little hug there. She jokes that if they met in his apartment, his mom would think they were sleeping together! Oh HA HA HA! LOL. She puts forward this who BS story about how it's the chofer's fault, or maybe Cutberto's fault for spreading gossip, and she's hoping he'll help convince Professor Hottie .Then Fernando asks her—does she love Professor Hottie?

Aeeeeda wants Mariano back I guess, but he's saying no way. He doesn't want to go back to her. She reminds him that Teresa doesn't love him. No matter, he says, he's not returning to Aeeeeda.

Teresa is putting the moves on Fernando, asking for his help, and clasping his hands meaningfully on the table. She's telling him her version of how things are.

More Aeeeeda griping about Teresa. Mariano says maybe it's a good time for him to be alone for a while.

Hector the Director wants to see Mariano and I'm not sure what about? I think some good business news? Also Hector talks about Aurora's wedding to Martin.

Rubigote talking with Fito about baby snatching. Fito says he's got several ideas on how to get the kid. Rubigote wants his baby with him now.

Some short scene between Professor Hottie and Teresa. She cozies up to him and he looks ambivalent.

Martin invites Aurora to dinner and they drink wine. He has something important to tell her. He's freeing her from the wedding. Giving her her freedom! She looks impactado.

EPISODE ENDS THERE!

Can't wait for your recap. Off to a conference call in a few minutes, but had to say, for me, last night it was again just a joy to watch Sebastian. His ongoing conversation with Fer (from previous episode - that scribbling was just a fab touch- trying to control his anger and take it out on a "rose") to his supposed composed self was awesome. He's channeling a whole new Arturo for viewerville to see - the coldness, the demeanor--it's spot on. Just wow!

Then we got the major "snog" as the kids say between Mar and Aurora with Martin seeing the whole thing. Rather stoic in his eavesdropping, but I think he was just realizing his suspicions were correct and resigned himself to it. Guess he leaves again?

And of course, our daily Aeeedddaaa delusional rant. Man, these are getting old. Mariano needs to channel some Arturo and just let her have it. (My opinion anyway.)

Check in later.

i'm a bit confused after last night and hope that the trusty caray caray gang can help. i thought that teresa basically admitted to arturo that she slept with mariano, but had her various excuses and the whole 'you had paloma, i had mariano, we both made mistakes, and now we're even'. but after last night, i am not so sure. does she think that she convinced him she did not sleep with mariano? but art knows otherwise, either from mariano's coming over or his own distrust of ter. otherwise, i don't get her denying it to everyone else. anybody have a clearer picture?

by the way, i was too late to comment yesterday, but sharkbyte, your recap was fab (and thanks for the xxxxxtra mariano pics!). looking forward to the full recap, elvira!

Kristoise- You are correct. Teresa used all those excuses to Art and basically admitted the truth. But, I think she's relying on the fact that Art is a gentleman, and won't go around telling people what she did. She's right. That's exactly what he's doing with everyone, except Fer. Which is why Fer is so darned confused. He's hearing one version of the story from Art, and a totally different version via Luisa from Teresa. And it seems he's coming down on the side of believing Teresa's version. Idiot.

thanks vivi! you are such a wealth of information.
and also quite astute--Fer is an idiot ;-)

Elvira, thanks in advance for your recap and Vivi, thanks for the explanation of Teresa’s “confessions.” I was confused about that too! I heard her being fairly honest with her own twist on the big night of truth to Arturo, but saying something entirely different to Luisa, Fernando and Juana. Juana is funny, she really has Teresa’s number somewhere in the recesses of her brain, she is just too loving to confront her!

“Revenge is sweet,” as they say and Teresa deserves a dose of her own medicine, but I’m sorry to see Arturo stoop to her level and become the person he never was....a vindictive, angry man. I just think he will eat himself up with hate and pollute what has always been a wonderful, loving mind. Teresa is selfish in a cold calculating way, Arturo just isn’t wired like that. Even Mariano, while he has run to help or rescue Teresa (for himself!), is not longer strutting around saying that he is going to “use” Teresa for his own purposes. He has grown in that regard. Did anyone else notice that killing glance Arturp gave Teresa as he left her talking with Oriana? Wow, lots of hate in that one.

I have felt all along that Mariano and Aurora would be together in the end, but she has made a mistake in accidentally losing Martin, he is just a better bet long term for anyone lucky enough to have him in their life. She will always be looking over her shoulder with Mariano; he is obsessed and “sick” (thanks Ramon) over Teresa.

SR (I think he deserves our fond initial abbreviation for his name now!) really brought his A game AGAIN to this novela, he was fantastic last night. Does he speak English? He would translate well in an American romantic comedy. Of course, I don’t have the power or connections to put him in one!!!

Elvira, thanks for setting some things straight for me and you too Vivi. I think Juana and Berto, Patti and Johnny could ride off into the sunset, and this telenovela would be all the better for it. Their plots lines do nothing to enhance the show. Do we really need all that stupidness (is that a word?). On the other hand I guess they are needed to further the plot for the "real" characters. The four of them just have too much screen time.

Yes, hats off to Rulli. What a difference between his acting here and William Levi in TDA. Colunga, take note too! Love you but you need to do better than your last couple of telenovelas. Go Rulli!

One recurring plot point from last night is that everyone now thinks it was Mariano's dad who is Oriana's driver that gossiped about Teresa. I had expected Juana to put two and two together-- knowing that Cutberto is the driver/assistant to some rich lady, knowing what a gossip he is, and how much he dislikes Teresa. Mariano's dad may not like Teresa, but he's no gossip.

I had to laugh as Teresa spun her tale about only "kissing" Mariano to Juana and Luisa. They are so gullible. Do they really think that Art would be SO upset just to learn Teresa kissed Mariano the day before the wedding? Please!

I'm glad Martin took the high road and decided to give Aurora her freedom (Tony in CME, take notes). She and Mar would be idiots if they didn't use this opportunity to finally go for it. And Aida needs to give it a rest. How many times/ways can Mariano say he's just not that in to her?

Elvira take your time i'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Sebatian Rulli is hitting it on all cylinders these last few episodes.

How dare Odiosa Oriana think that Arturo was going to willing comply with what she expected him to do get a divorce. She had was already making plans to have it covered up before Luisa wedded Fernando. What a presumptious nasty old hag she is.

Boy did Teresa rub her face in it.

It happen Wooo Hoo! Mariano finally kissed Aurora and she was feeling it too.Too bad Martin saw them and got hurt but now he knows he's always going to be second with Aurora. No matter how she protest she just doesn't sound like she means it.

Arturo plotting revenge oh this is going to be good. But did Fernando betray him already by letting Teresa know what Arturo is planning?

Yeah why doesn't it occur to anyone it's not Ramon but Dumberto has gossiped about Teresa.I guess because Ramon drives a taxi that's why everyone is assuming it's him.

So Mariano tells the harpy whether Teresa wants him back or not. He will never get back together with her period. Of course this does not go over well with the delusional harpy.Mariano bringing up Aurora to her is not helping either. She doesn't look like she will go away any time soon.

Ah, Vivi, Tony is no Martin, sad to say. If there's anything that has been awesome about the Martin character is just how above-board and straight forward he is. He could have pulled a Tony or Aeeeddaaa, and instead, he's gently letting Aurora go. I mean how cool to do it over a beautiful dinner as if to say "You're still special, and I love you, and for that I let you go." He needs to be cloned.

Anon, couldn't agree with you more on SR versus some of our other "regular" TN galans. And I'm a Colunga fan. Of course, it's all about what you're given to work with too - and these writers have given SR some great stuff to work with, and he's also taking it to a whole higher level than you often see in TN's. I find myself now wanting more to watch just to see him.

Thanks for you summary Elvira. You hit the major points; Vivi thanks for mentioning the misunderstanding with Ramon being the driver. When the real driver comes to light, I wonder how Juana will react? If this incident would truly free her from Goofberto (from Sharkbyte) then there's a point. But if Juana keeps pining for one of the dumbest men I've seen a TN, I'll just have to wish the two of them off-screen. And if she ever opens her eyes to Teresa, again how will she react?

Daisy/Sandy - yes, though its great watching Rulli change his demeanor it is very sad to see Arturo becoming cold and bitter. He was such a sweetheart. His performance reminds me of a study I heard about that men are more romantic than women generally unless they've been hurt in love.

Vivi and Blu - ITA regarding Aida. How many times is she going to beg him back? Does it make others as uncomfortable as it does me? It's like she believes she can wear Mariano down and they'll live happily ever after. (Well it did kind of work with Paulo.) And if Mariano were dumb enough to return to her, what happens when he finds out she did help Oriana?

I hope Aurora does own up to her continued feelings for Mariano and how cruel it would be for her to marry Martin. Though she wouldn't pursue Mariano as Teresa does, she would continue to desire him.

Martin is a prince! If Ter does snatch Fernando, he and Luisa would be perfect together.

What is poor Martin going to do about his new restaurant named after Aurora! Hope he hasn't invested in a new awning and paid lawyers for the name change paperwork. I will be happy if I just see one little tinsy smile between Martin and Luisa, we need for those two to get together and soon, we can't have Martin move away before the Fer-Ter-Art-Lu-Orca armageddon that is simmering. I heard Martin say that his move to Paris was just to get Aurora away from Mariano, maybe he will cancel his move just in time to pick up the pieces with Luisa. They are about the only two well-grounded younger singles in the novela! Of course, I have a long history of suggesting the WRONG person to my then single son and all his friends...what do I know!

Looking forward to the rest of the recap Elvira. I think Arturo's revenge plan is going to harder for him to execute because he still loves Teresa even if he doesn't want to. When he tried to make love to her, he couldn't because he kept seeing images of her and Mariano in bed. It was too much for him.

What also worries me is that he is drinking again and is obsessed over Mariano. Teresa even told Fernando as such. She's got him completely wrapped around her finger.

I did love the scene when Oriana came by the house to assess the damage she caused only to be stunned that Arturo and Teresa were still together. Of course, she doesn't know about Arturo's revenge scheme and Teresa of course rubbed it in her face that she didn't get her wish of Arturo throwing her out on the streets.

One thing though, everyone mistakenly believes that it was Ramon who told Oriana when it was big mouth Cutberto.

Poor Martin. He saw the writing on the wall when he saw the kiss and overheard what Aurora told Mariano.

-----------------------------

There has always been a dark side attributed to Arturo. Viewerville is seeing Arturo's dark side but Luisa, Fernando & probably Oriana have all seen it in action in the past. That's probably why Luisa is so preoccupied with Arturo's happiness.

I wouldn't put it past Arturo to go live in the hood and get a job as a taxi driver (like in Teresa's nightmare) to stick it to Teresa. Maybe then Refugio will finally call him "Arturo."

I don't see Pati taking up too much screen time. Cutberto & Johnny's estupides, yes. Pati being Miss Cheerful & Supportive, no. I think Pati's purpose is

1) to show that Johnny's moved on after Rosita

2) to show that money doesn't mean happiness to everyone...some people will cheerfully join their husbands in poverty b/c they love them (unlike Teresa)

I think Juana/Cutberto is supposed to be for comic relief, but it's not funny. Also Cutberto's chismes have advanced the plot in certain points.

I was wondering why Juana also didn't put two and two together and figure out that it was Cutberto who spilled the tea and not Ramon. He will have a lot of 'splainin' to do when they find out it was him running his mouth.

Also, it's a wonder Teresa didn't jog her memory of when she just talked to Cutberto about the day before the boda since she knew Oriana had been skulking around the hospital room.

Ok, so Arturo has told Oriana that he's staying with Teresa, even after all she told him. Now what? I guess she and Aida think after Teresa gets thrown out by Arturo she's supposed to slink back to the hood and wash clothes for the rest of her life, as her proper station?

Speaking of Aida, if/when Fito/Ruben/Geno succeed in kidnapping Rodrigo, Aida having seen baby Rod in NICU will end up being their downfall.

Also speaking of Aida, how is she going to take it when Mariano/Aurora get together? She needs to take some tips from Mayra...Mayra was a very insecure woman but now she grown. All 4 young leads (Aida, Mariano, Aurora, Teresa) have a lot of growing up to do in the next 7 weeks. I still think Aida can be redeemed.

Yeah why doesn't it occur to anyone it's not Ramon but Dumberto has gossiped about Teresa.I guess because Ramon drives a taxi that's why everyone is assuming it's him.
---------------

Everyone assumes it was Ramon because Teresa told everyone it was Ramon. Ramon busted Teresa out to Arturo with the hair comb...and he told Teresa if she came sniffing around Mariano again at the vecindad he would give the comb to Arturo.

When Arturo confronted Teresa with the comb, she knew there was only 1 person who could have given it to him: Ramon.

And everyone knows Ramon is a taxi driver, so it's not farfetched that he could be driving Oriana around.

What people aren't thinking about is the fact that Ramon would NOT bust his own son out to Arturo even if it meant sticking it to Teresa. Ramon would say that TERESA keeps coming after Mariano & give Art the comb as proof. Ramon would NOT tell Arturo that his son slept with Art's wife the day before their wedding and planned to escape together.

Elvira: Thanks for that recap! That "Steely Side" of Arturo does make me shiver a bit.

=======
I remember that when Odiana asked Buttberto to be her chauffeur he specifically asked if she didn't want to ask Ramon since he already drove a taxi. Juana hasn't put the rich lady boss together with BB and Tere automatically assumed Taxi+Ramon+Threats+Fancy Comb= Ramon as the gossiping driver.

Some food for thought: in the bar scene Mariano confronts Buttberto about letting the cat out of the bag to Art somehow. Of course BB says he didn't/couldn't/wouldn't betray his Mariancito, but he doesn't mention the stuff he told his new and wealthy boss because he either is too stupid to remember or too arrogant and shortsighted to consider it. Mar then says he can't understand how Art found out otherwise because the only two people who knew were Teresa and BB.

I was hoping Teresa had at least enough love for Art to put her Fer plan on the backburner when she saw how destroyed he was. Foolish of me. Teresa isn't capable. I hope she winds up alone just like Scarlet.

Some food for thought: in the bar scene Mariano confronts Buttberto about letting the cat out of the bag to Art somehow. Of course BB says he didn't/couldn't/wouldn't betray his Mariancito, but he doesn't mention the stuff he told his new and wealthy boss

===================

At the bar BB does admit he's talked about Teresa and Mariano, but only to people who don't know them. Peabrain had only met Oriana that one time in the elevator at Mariano's apt building. I don't think Teresa explained to BB or Johnny (another peabrain) how she knew Oriana. So, BB doesn't realize that all that gossip he shared with Madam O just added to what she overheard at the hospital. When it comes out that he is the chauffeur, Mariano, Teresa, Juana, and a score of other people will have to take their turn at smacking him upside the head. And when is Madam O gonna let him go now that he's served his purpose. Or is he still yacking away?

Niecie,
I think Ter is wanting Fer's help with her situation with Arturo since Fer is Arturo's Best Friend. At this point I don't think she's going after Fer for herself. She plainly admitted to Espe she is in love with her husband and everything was going so well.(as she was holding the crying Rodrigo) She wouldnt lie to Espe, no reason, Espe always knew she married Art without loving him.
I also believe Ter wants Fer on her side to stick it to his mother. Remember she said to herself she wouldn't let Aida or Oriana prove themselves right about her. She wants Arturo to still want her.

At the beginning of the cap, Fer tells Art Ter must love him because she has stayed with him after he lost his money. And his response was---> even with the money he now has it's more than what she came from, living in poverty with a sick mom and debt-full dad. So her staying with him is better than going back to where she came from, so that's no proof she loves him(staying through the bankruptcy)

I am sorry to see our Arturo turn into such a mean man. But as someone said earlier, Art does have a dark side. This dark side has now come out, and Teresa is not going to recognize it or know how to handle it because she doesn't know this side of him. But Luisa and Fer do. She had better get them both on her side to be able to deal with Art.

I wonder if Art is going to make Ter jealous with another woman. How else is he planning on having "her hurt just as much as I'm hurting right now"? Thoughts?

Ohhh Aurora! Admit it, you have been given a Golden Ticket by Martin. He's cutting you loose because he knows you are hung up on Mariano. The looks on her face every time the boda or wedding dress is mentioned you'd think she had something bad for lunch!

Only 30 caps left! Where is this story going? It is so well written. Nothing predictable. This thing could land anywhere!

And his response was---> even with the money he now has it's more than what she came from, living in poverty with a sick mom and debt-full dad.
---------------------

Everyone (including Arturo & Teresa) think that it's either the Fancy Street or the Vecindad for Teresa.

If Teresa had limited skills like Refugio or Pati, sure, she'd be headed back to the vecindad.

But Teresa has a college degree from one of the best schools in Mexico. She's a lawyer. Even if she lost her access to the world of the Barreras, Caceres, Fernando & Co. etc., she could still eek out a respectable living as a lawyer that doesn't involve her having to live in the hood.

And knowing her drive and ambition, she'd have her own company that would do MORE business than Arturo's & Ruben's combined.

Arturo's going around with an "I made her, I can break her" attitude, but really Teresa made herself. He just gave her assistance along the way. That's why I find this "Oh she's been exposed as a golddigger, back to the hood washing clothes with her momma she goes!" attitude so funny.

Yeah, I definitely think Art's plan to "make her love him" is going to backfire. She's stronger than he is. And why is he so sure he can do it, anyway? I thought he had no self-confidence -- and now you would think he'd have even less. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Anon207- I do think that's funny that Oriana and Aida seem to think Teresa has so few options. And you're right, that Teresa seems to think that too. Well, she would add a third option: vecinidad, Arturo, or some other rich sucker. She's the one who refuses to do things the slow, but steady way (Mariano's way). She wants it all right now, and I think that's what Art has found out. He never thought before that HE made Teresa. Even when he spoke to Fer he said that up till this point, he thought of Teresa as a super smart, intelligent, hard worker. He would have never doubted that Teresa would WANT to work hard to build something from the ground up, until now. Now he knows she wants instant wealth and priveledge, although she has all the skills needed to create these things for herself (or side by side with him). And he's right.

I don't think having an affair is what he will do to get back at Teresa. I think he's just going to guilt trip her into staying with him. When he left her high and dry in bed, it was exactly like she did to him after the Paloma reveal, and other times when she tried to get her way about something. He is going to make her work hard for his love and affection, while witholding it. I'm sure there are other things he's planning/plotting. I agree with those of you who actually DON'T want him to become this bitter person. It would have been better (emotionally and mentally) for him to kick Teresa out and wash his hands of her.

Elvira- The recap was worth the wait. Thank you so much!

Anyone else think it was hot when Art picked Teresa up under her arms and called her a pretty little liar?

I think Mariano already suspects strongly that Aeeeeeeeeeeeda had a hand in telling about him and Teresa pre wedding night to Arturo. She may not have told him directly but she helped Odiosa Oriana with some crucial info like how Mariano was still in love with Teresa even after all she did to him.

I'm already seeing how Aeeeeeeeeeeeeda is reacting to Aurora honest admission to being in love with Mariano. She is for sure going to get nasty i believe, her reaction Mariano is mine and it was sort of like how dare you my BFF be in love with him. You have Martin so go be happy with him and leave Mariano alone for me.

This girl has a very obsessive personality and while she did get Paulo in the end. He did it because he wanted to still live off of his mother's income. I'm still of the belief that eventually Paulo would have cheated on her and then finally divorce her she is just too much drama.

I think what drove it home to Martin to let Aurora go were the words she used towards Mariano. I'm tired of waiting( I'm tired of waiting for you to wake up from your obsession about Teresa and see me standing here right under your nose. Me the one who has always stood by you and supported you through it all) That one word waiting i believe did it.

Martin is truly one of the great male novelas characters i have come to love. Not going all obsessed i'm going to have Aurora no matter what i have to pull dirty tricks and lies and all. No he maturely lets her out of her obligation to marry him.

I so hope he sticks around to pick up the pieces with Luisa.

Ita i don't like Arturo going down this path.

So help me if Juana does end up with Dumberto that storyline has been a complete waste then and not believable for me. There comes a time when someone like that has to grow up and stop running off with his big fat mouth.

These have been the most emotionally charged and draining episodes so far but so fantastic to watch this superb acting and directing.I feel like Arturo looked sprawled out on the stairs after each episode ends.

I don't think Mariano confided in Buttberto about his liason with Tere before the boda. I think he saw Tere leaving M's apt and thought the worst of her. (He was right but he has no proof.) Anyone remember?

Thanks, Elvira. Ha ha.... But Profesor Hottie is still hot....hot with rage. Loved how Art told Fer he had a secret plan or something to bring Tere down and we look down and he is crazily scribbling spirals or something reflecting his out of control life and state of mind. And he's putting Tere on a her downward spiral. I don't have a dvr so that was my impression.

What's up with Fer? Are his hormones going to dictate his destruction by betraying Mom, Art and poor Luisa for Tere. And is Tere really using Fer for Art or for herself (to provide the trips and diamonds?)

Oh, yeah......Arturo, Papi....

Thanks for the recap, Elvira.

Somehow I thought when Aurora had dinner with Martin she was feeling guilty with what happened with Mariano. I think she was trying somehow to confess it to Martin but Martin had control of the conversation and floored her when he gave her her freedom.

I had to laugh at Juana when Tere was giving her "pure" side of the story and told her she gave Mariano a "beso" and unlesss I didn't understand it, Juana looked as shocked as anything. If she really knew the truth, I wonder what she would think of sweet Tere.
As Vivi said, "how gullible."

I've been enjoying the recaps and all the great comments.

Ann-NYC

Oops, Tere also hopes for revenge on Odiosa by seducing her hijo, Fer.

GinCA

I agree that Aurora was going to confess the kissing to Martin. I'm pretty sure Martin knew it, too, and appreciated her honesty, but since he'd already figured out she wasn't into him enough for a marriage to be a good idea, he decided to spare her having to say it and just cut to the chase.

Poor Aurora. Martin is SUCH a catch, but if you don't feel it, you just don't, I guess.

I thought Arturo was drawing Teresa in a bullseye and then shooting arrows into her with his pen. SR did a great job in that scene...with the shaky hands and all, you could see how he was destroyed, but he didn't venture into that territory actors sometimes get into, where it looks like the emoting is all on the outside for show more than felt. He really gave the impression of mind-melting suffering.

Terrific recap; thanks.

How on earth did Aida get through such a prestigious law school? She must have gotten the bully-until-you-get-your-way degree rather than the analytical degree. Why does she think she and Mariano will get back together if Teresa's unavailable? News flash, Aida, there are millions of other women on the planet, and even if there weren't, being single forever would be vastly preferable to being near a harpy shrew.

Well Mariano in his own way basically said just that whether Teresa wants him or not he rather be alone than ever get back with her again that's why she left his office in a pissed off huff.

It doesn't occur to her that her actions and the way she speaks and thinks makes her so unattractive for a life long partner. She also seems to have the same type of attitude like her dear old dad that Mariano should be grateful that a person like her wants to be involved with someone like him from his neck of the woods. She thinks and still views him as being lesser than her because he was born and raised in the vecindad.

Mayra needs to come back and have a long heart to heart talk with her daughter and get her the professional help she has needed for so long.

Yeah Vivi that was hot the way Arturo picked up Teresa and said that but it was also scary when she was trying to convince him. Her betrayal was the same as his with Pat Pal but when he said the only difference was Pat pal was dead. That was scary the way he said that.

His performance reminds me of a study I heard about that men are more romantic than women generally unless they've been hurt in love.

Karen - yes, I'm familiar with that study. It goes on to say that men are totally awesome and wonderful and that women are evil chicas that drain the life essence from men. It's obviously a very accurate study done by trustworthy cool dudes.

:^)
