Cuando Me Enamoro #103 Tuesday 9/13/11 Berta's crazy is showing, and Jero's suspicion is growing!!!
Labels: Cuando
Roberta - she is a good candidate for #1 crazy. She likes to play with fire. And wasn't she quite the bitch at the airport? I couldn't help laughing at the other people in line shaking their heads at her. Also, I love how she got stuck in a middle seat. Serves her right.
Fina - well she really is the mother of all crazies. Only a bonafide nutcase would kidnap someone and then send a ransom note 24 years later.
Blanca - noticeably absent from tonight's episode but thank you Jules for mentioning her. Very appropriate considering the theme.
Augie - he thinks he is crazy in love but he is just crazy. Period.
Matias - not crazy but he is really starting to bore me with all his woe-is-me whining.
Honorio - redeemed by kvetching ad nauseum about what an idiot he is. Yes dear, we agree.
Jules, thanks a million for posting your terrific recap so quickly tonight, especially after such a steaming episode! Great title too.
I'm glad Carlos told Jero not to jump to conclusions or hasty action this time. Maybe he will begin to listen to is saner friends. Marina is really leveling with him and I do like their honest relationship which has a lot of warmth but no real heat. Besides, he has so many clues to follow.
I had to laugh when Zeke jumped out the window when Augie barged into Roberta's room. He certainly doesn't think much of her personal rights. Zeke was scared and maybe a little sorry. Augie will eat him for lunch if the truth comes out.
Augie is so self possessed, I had to enjoy Renata trimming his ego ever so slightly with a deft hand. She is not going to be railroaded into another wedding and has a handy list of delay excuses.
Jero - insists on jumping to conclusions to his own detriment. Apparently he never learned the term "falling on one's sword". He sure falls on his a lot.
I'm worried for Zeke. He's not a bad guy and should seek other employment. On the other hand, while at Augie's he is a potential spy for the good guys.
Berta is nuts, spoiled, nasty, but she can sometimes be fun to watch. (Unlike a certain mother). That airport scene...crazy. I too love that she had to slep with the "common" folk in economy.
But poor Zeke, he's not made for this kind of intrigue. Thought the poor guy was going to choke on his breakfast. My guess this is going to implode for him, but may work in Alfi's favor to get the two of them back together.
I can't even tell you how Matias made me want to strangle him. We are supposed to like this guy right? Trying my patience.
Good for Gonzo letting Hon have it too. (Now do the same for your son). Hope Coni gives him grief and makes it hard to win her back. I'm in a particularly vindictive mood today. These men need to get their act together!!
Auggie sure had that jaw jutting last night. It's going to stay that way pretty soon. SOOOOOOO happy when Nata did the "Talk to the Hand" and stopped him from leeching on with her to Mexico. I knew he would pull that. You could just hear the air coming out of his tires.
I did a little happy dance when Jero ran into Nata at the end. Nata better take that info for truth. And Berta finds out about "sis". Can't wait to hear the tall tail Fina tells to explains this one.
Our poor Nata is in for more and more grief as Fina's plot unwinds. Like many of you I am very intrigued about how Pepa/Fina gets Roberta in place as Regina's daughter, collects her millions in ransom and yet stays free. She can't be planning to flee because she has to stay around if she wants to murder Gonzo in his wedding suit. Her plot to make Regina two times a widow and by Pepa/Fina's hand again is really sick and scary.
Boy that Nata/Auggie relationship bears little resemblance to a romance. I'm glad she put the brakes on his plan to talk to her parents. I was struck by the way they parted when they came home from the fiesta. He thinks that they are comprometidos -- and he doesn't even get a good night kiss??? Where is his head?
I had forgotten about Adriana and her tarot cards. That was the first prediction that a great but painful love was going to come into Renata's life. Adri saw it in her tarot cards. I love how they mix fate into these story lines. The tarot cards ad the little bird fortunes tell the truth even when the humans cover it up.
I kept wondering why we saw so much of bitchy Berta at the airport. Will the airplane delay play a role in the plot? or did it just give us a chance to enjoy her nasty self. She was some giggling gloater with Zeke wasn't she?
Gina and Fina both at the offices -- will there be an encounter? Or another near miss like in the hospital a few weeks ago?
I'm off again for another trip -- the Maine coast this time. I doubt if I will be able to keep up with this show. I'm going to go into withdrawal! But if the VCR works ok I'll have a marathon of messiness to catch up on next week. If not. I'm counting on your stellar recaps everyone. -- till next week....

My favorite scene was with Ezequiel and Alfonsina at breakfast. He was actually taking his wife's side, admonishing his son to eat his eggs because mom had gotten up early to fix that treat for him. Yea! for the healthy effects of sexual guilt! Hope this paves the way for understanding of moral lapses, followed by healing forgiveness and reconciliation.
Julia- I also enjoyed that scene at the breakfast table. He not only took her side with Poncho and thanked her for breakfast, he also thanked her for the pesticide mix that she brought him to combat the infestation. Nothing like guilt to knock down rightous indignation. Technically, he doesn't really need to feel guilty, as he and Alfie are separated, although forced to live under the same roof. But I'm glad he does feel guilty.
Berta is a trip. I loved that she had to ride coach in the middle seat after all her whining and screeching. Can't wait to see how she reacts to finding out Nata is not her twin, but her half sister.
Sylvia- I think Fina's original plan was to blackmail Gina for money earlier, or at least to put that daughter switch plan more firmly in place. But when she met and married Gonzo, she thought she had her meal ticket set for life. Since Gonzo was way richer than Roberto was, she thought she was getting the better end of the deal. Three things made her put her baby switch/inheritance plan back in place: 1) Gonzo divorced her a**; 2) Gonzo is broke and can't give her a fab divorce settlement; and 3) She found out from Toni just how much value the inheritance left to Regina Jr. has gained over the years. Apparently, it's a nice chunk of change.
I really want to see how she pulls it off, although I'm afraid many good people will be hurt in the process.
leaves a hole in the heart. We're all thinking of you.
And Carlos, I was glad to hear that things have settled down for you and your daughter and her livestock. I did enjoy the picture of her horse grazing on your front lawn however. I hope the fires stay calm and your lives can go back to normal.
It was so late yesterday when I got the chance to read the recap that I didn't send condolences & best wishes then. I figured no one would see them at that late hour.
One thing that surprised me yesterday was when Mati woke up and recognized everybody. In telenovela land a blow to the head so often means amnesia. I'm so glad that this show doesn't fall into all the standard TN traps.
OK, OK -- I have to finish packing & get out of here. I've never been to Maine & I can't wait to see it.

That scene quietly illustrated why I'm so smitten with Mati. Even ill, her exuberance and spontaneity sparkle. She's our innocent wild child.
My hero last night was Gonzo. I have a hard time liking him but he was right on target lat night.
Roberta has finally fully realized and embraced the power of her hembracity. Poor Zeke is still wondering, "What the heck happened?"
Matias has become the tedious mope. Bring and the hit-n-run bland sister. He is a hopeless beta-male.
Loved Robi at the airport. How would you like having one of the seats next to that?
Carlos
There was a time when I hoped Roberta would open her eyes and leave the dark side. I fear that now, if she willingly joins Fina's nefarious plot, she will be lost forever. Berta seems to take after Mami in that she has no moral or ethical gauge.
ITA that Matias is a tedious mope. That is a great description Carlos.
Roberta can't help herself when it comes to causing trouble. She is such a user. Zeke was taking misguided revenge on Alfonsina by sleeping with Berta. Now he's really going to pay the price for it.
Who knew the day would come when Gonzo would be the only guy with his head on straight? I'm so glad he talked some sense into Honorio. Some copious apologizing accompanied by mariachis was just what Hon needed to win Connie back. Let's hope it lasts.
Jules, I think you're onto something about Fina looking nervous lately. She has finally been backed into a corner and has to come clean that she kidnapped Regina's daughter. But she surely has a few tricks up her sleeve involving Roberta that will wreck havoc soon. I'm interested to see how this plays out.
You hit the nail on the head, Carlos. Matias is definitely a tedious mope. He needs a personality transplant stat.
Amy
I'm glad Renata clarified with Augie that their engagement is more of a "maybe" than a "yes." Not that he got the message. Now, if you're that unsure you really shouldn't be engaged at all, but poor Renata is a bit mixed up these days.
Wow, Roberta was really channeling her mother at the airport. What ugly behavior. That face she made at the agent looked EXACTLY like a Fina face. So glad she got stuck in a middle seat in economy. I hope the agent put her between the largest and most annoying other passengers.
Adriana should just tell Matias, "You're right. I did enjoy kissing Chema more than I enjoy listening to your whining and moaning and being jealous and possessive. I used to love you, but now you've talked me out of it. Well done."
Julia, touche on Matias. What a screwball he's become. That boy ain't right.
Jules: Great recap. And glad your babies are better.
I was scared Laz was going to refuse Carlos, then I was really scared that Mati was going to refuse him. She was absolutely adorable! And I’m so glad she isn’t going to let Carlos’ stuck-up parents keep her from being happy.
I think Nata regrets her decision to marry Auggie. Once she gets back to the city, she’ll find it easier to break it off.
Matias has never been a fav of mine. At least he wasn’t throwing a tantrum. Just throwing a good woman away. Jerk!
I’m leaving on vacay Saturday and won’t have access to the TN for a whole week!!!! I’m looking forward to a CME marathon next weekend when I return.
Condolences to you, RLO. I had a beloved aunt who died of Alzheimers complications.
Carlos—happy dance for your daughter.
Robey
Fun fact of the day. In real life Honorio is married to Fina's sister
Gonzo recommending Gina be sure her daughter really was alive and Fina checking DNA is probably not a coincidebce
