Cuando Me Enamoro #110 Thursday 9/22/11 Renata just wants to thank Jeronimo. All night long.

Redux: Jero spills the beans to all and sundry that Renata is engaged TO MARRY Augustin. Caras impactadas de la familia MR and a big “Oh S**t” eye roll from Renata.

Poor Doc Maritata calls Jero and leaves a voice mail, why didn’t he arrive on the plane? She is very worried.

Gonzo asks Nata is it true that she is engaged? Augi butts in to say yes, they have agreed to share their destinies, then Matias and Jero also try to peanut-gallery their opinions but all three are ignored. Gonzo pulls his daughter aside and starts to advise her this is too precipitous when they are interrupted by Hons and Adri. They rush in to say Cons suffered some sort of respiratory arrest and is fighting for her life. Honorio breaks down.

At La Bonita the Novias fret about who will walk them down the aisle. If Laz is getting married he won’t be able to give Mati away. It’s decided that Jero will escort Mati and Ezekiel will escort Kari. They practice their wedding march as the two Novios spy from behind the door. Mati scolds them that peeking at their dresses before the wedding is back luck. Too late Mati, the curse has already been set in motion.

Jero calls Marina to apologize and explain. She says don’t worry about explanations but very sweetly and stalker-like adds he should have called her about his change in plans. (Why? Unless he knew she would be at the airport which I think he did not.) He says for sure he’ll return tomorrow and he’ll call her when he gets to the hacienda.

Gonzo and Nata stroll the hospital halls worrying about Coni’s condition. Then Gonzo asks when was Nata going to tell him about Augustin? Sure he wanted her away from the city of dangers, but he didn’t think she would go and do *that*. She explains Augi is very nice and they have a lot in common, yawn. He says that’s not enough for marriage and why did she have to get engaged so quickly as if to escape? She asks him for time and to let her make her own decisions. He just wants her to learn from past experiences, hers and others. He got married to her mother for many reasons, the least of which was love. She points out she was crazy in love with Jero and look what happened. She wants to move on with her life. Maybe dad is right but she wants to try out different things, there are many types of love. (Right, 1. in love, and 2. not in love.) He insists that true love is the primary reason to get married and she knows it. He begs her to think about this.

Regina and Jero talk about Renata’s engagement. She explains about Gonzo sending Nata down to Ensenada incommunicado to protect her from BSCBlanca. He doesn’t understand why Nata couldn’t tell him all this. She suggests he discuss it with Renata, maybe it would help clarify things between them. He says no, this telenovela is not nearly far enough along to start communicating intelligently or for him to admit he is a bullish ass. There is no turning back (no tiene vuelta de hoja) because if she agreed to marry Augi it’s proof she no longer loves Jero.

Matias gives a brotherly warning to Augustin and Augi gives his word Nata will not shed a single tear because of him.

Hons and Adri pray in the chapel. Adri tells him she sees Cons as a second mother and she doesn’t think she can lose another mama. Nor he the woman he loves, he adds. She admits that she put her relationship with Matias at risk to try to lure Chema away from Coni so that there would be a clear path for Cons and Hons. Dad reassures her that they will win, the three of them together. Very sweet. Adri also mentioned that although she doesn't love Chema, she is not entirely indifferent about him either.

It looks like JudyB and I were worried for nothing as Doc Tata made it safely home. Padre is super miffed to find out that Jero didn’t even call, thus making Marina spend hours on the dangerous highway. But of course his time is more important than anyone else's. What an outrage! (Qué barbaridád!) She explains Jero didn’t know she was going to the airport, it was supposed to be a surprise. He advises her not to be in anyone’s life if she is the last thing on their list.

Jero tells Hons goodbye and wishes him the best for Coni. Hons thanks Jero for all he did for the company. He mentions the personal business between Jero and Coni and Gonzo jumps up and demands to know WHAT business did Jero have with his sister? Hons covers by saying he was just thanking Jero for his help with the bank. Gonzo sternly and sincerely thanks Jero for his financial help and says they will be eternally grateful. Jero reassures him that even though things with Renata didn’t go as they’d hoped he still cares a lot about the family. They share a man-hug and Jero leaves just as Augi and Renata return. Augi juts his lower jaw in irritation as Nata excuses herself to follow Jero.

In the operating room the doctors have finally finished. Nurse asks something about Coni’s breathing and the doc says as soon as Coni wakes up they’ll have a better idea.

Adri brinks Matias a cup of coffee and he sulkily refuses the kind gesture. She tells him not to be like that, she needs him and loves him a lot. “You might need me but love me, no.” he retorts childishly. That’s our Matias, never too grieved to play the martyr. He tells her he doesn’t believe her before stomping off in his too-shiny suit.

Nata finds Jero and stops him for a final, private goodbye. She clumsily apologizes to him (why exactly?) as his wife, er ex-wife, er whatever, and thanks him for all he did for her company. She explains she was frustrated and angry and his forgiveness is important to her. They pant and stare at each others’ lips.

Regina sits and silently thanks God for this opportunity to get her daughter back and for putting the Bank of Jeronimo at her disposal.

Renata assures Jero yet again that she is very grateful for everything he did for the business. She thanks him profusely at least eight times in a row. Enough already. Augi arrives and stands aggressively in the background as Jero caresses Nata’s face and explains they went through bad stuff but he is there for her if she ever, EVER needs him for anything. She kisses him very close to but not exactly on his lips and they say a lingering goodbye.

Nata is visibly upset. Augi steps away to make a call. He calls Ez and instructs him to call in exactly 15 minutes and do exactly what Augi tells him.

Gonzo finds Regina sitting sadly. She says she was thinking about what a great guy Jero is. Gonzo rebuts that although Jero did the business a huge favor he caused his daughter many tears and so Gonzo does not share her opinion. She says Jero also suffered thanks to Renata’s sister. It’s a pity that they could not overcome their obstacles and differences. They wax philosophical on the pros and cons of love and life. Regina says now more than ever they should be thankful for hope, hope that Coni will recuperate and that everything will return to normal. Gonzo agrees, Faith and Hope that Coni will get well and Regina will get her daughter.

Sinister music warn us but not Renata that Augi lies in wait. He demands to know why she went chasing after Jeronimo. She pauses longer than normal, signifying her displeasure at this query. However she does explain she only wanted to thank him for helping the company. He gets on her case saying Jero has a huge ego and gets off on the money thing. He grabs her arm and she immediately pushes him off of her as if he were a disease. He gripes that Jero always uses money to get at her and this wasn’t the first time. He loves to use money to demonstrate his superiority and he did the same to Augi when he paid a very high fine to get out of selling him La Bonita. Augi says he used money to break his word and his contract. Now he’s using money to try to make up for all the suffering he caused her. She insists Jero helped her family for the family's sake and she just wanted to thank him.

Augi announces he needs some air (so that he can “forget” his phone). It rings as scheduled and Nata answers. Ez nervously tells her it’s nothing urgent but of course she wants to take a message. He says he wants to tell the boss he’ll be a little late because he’s going to help Lazaro with something special that Jero is preparing for Doctora Marina. Oh but never mind, he’ll call the boss later. Renata thought bubbles “Are you in love with her Jeronimo?”

Jero and Carlos have a huggy yet manly reunion and Jero updates Carlos on Coni adding that the imbecile Dunant was there but hey, he does not want to think about those people. Carlos asks, then no possibility of a reconciliation? Nope, none at all, that chapter is closed, says Jero.

Ez drives through the Cruz de Amor vineyards with Lazaro hiding in the truck. Ez gives the magic mixture to Melesio and they treat the top secret vine. Mele comments it’s the only vine of its type and it can’t die. Ez lures Mele away so that Lazaro can inspect the top secret vine. Even though it is sickly and looks like the surrounding vines Super Laz is able to use his super powers to confirm that Yes, it IS a sarmiento of La Bonita!!

The prison doctor tells Jero that Doc ShouldBeDead is anxious to talk to him.

Hons begs Cons to wake up, which she does, but she cannot talk and becomes understandably upset. Hons keeps asking her what she’s trying to say and pressures the doctor which is not helping calm Coni down at all. She thinks My God why am I unable to say a word? She must tell them about the murderess Fina who tried to kill her and made her this way.

The Comandante tells Gonzo they checked the MR security cameras and they couldn’t see anyone entering or leaving the residential zone. Also, there was no forced entry. He concludes they checked the nut house and are sure BSCBlanca could not have escaped to attack Coni. Gonzo says they must get to the bottom of this business. He won’t allow whoever did this to his sister to go unpunished.

Renata and Adriana bond until Hons comes out and tells them about Coni’s condition. He doesn’t know yet if it will be temporary or what. Gonzo and Matias arrive and ask what happened.

Meanwhile Fina is hiding out and calling Berta for Coni updates. Berta has no news but she does know that they are starting a very intensive investigation. Fina’s glad she’s not at the house although Berta thinks her absence will look suspicious. Fina says Gonzo will have to testify that he was at the house arguing with Fina when the attack supposedly took place. Fina hopes Coni kicks the bucket so she won’t be able to tell what happened. Berta is shocked at mami’s cold blood. Fina whines she doesn’t have an option and she wants Berta to apprise her of Coni’s condition so that she can make decisions!

Chema visits Inez and tells her about his constant migraines. She asks him for a ride to the city center, it’s an emergency. When Chema hears it’s Coni he sprints out of the office. Wait, don’t forget Inez!! On second thought, does she really want a guy with migraines driving her around Mexico City?

Jero gives the incriminating letter and post-its to Carlos so they can do a handwriting analysis. Carlos tells Jero he’s got good news and bad news. Which does he want to hear first?

The bank manager of the OBDF (Only Bank in the DF) meets with Regina and tells her the money will be ready tomorrow. But is she sure she wants it in cash? They can do a check or bank transfer. Gina needs it in cash. Bank Manager says no problem just fill out this questionnaire including the reason for withdrawal. Ruh Roh.

Jero explodes that if Dunant has stolen any of his cuttings he will send him to jail. Carlos says it’s impossible to prove (huh? won’t the evidence of the cutting prove it?) but Jero says Dunant is going to pay.

Now for the good news, not only are Carlos and Mati getting married but so are Laz and Kari. It will be a double wedding! Ruh Roh. Carlos asks, isn’t Jero pleased? But Jero is shaking his head.

Gonzo and Matias urge Hons to be positive for himself and for Coni. Renata and Adri join them followed by Augi (NOT in a windbreaker!!). Nata grudgingly allows her fiance( to kiss her cheek and take her home for a change of clothes (finally!). Adri and Hons also leave the waiting room so Gonzo and Matias can gripe. They don’t like Renata with Augi but Matias says he’s better than Jero. At least he acts like a gentleman. (Hah!) Gonzo insists and fumes Nata is not in love with Augi and he does not agree with the engagement.

Jero finds the Padre who immediately scolds Jero for making Marina drive all the way to Tijuana and back, tsk tsk. Jero apologizes and needs the Padre’s advice on the delicate subject of Laz and Kari. Oh how the padre gushes his happiness over their engagement. Jero, playing the role of the anvil, tells padre they cannot get married because...Kari is not a widow and Frankendoctor is alive. Ruh Roh.

Renata pushes for Augi to go back to Ensenada. He rebels, saying he wants to ask Gonzo formally for her hand in marriage. She keeps pushing that she wants him to go back to Cruz de Amor and as soon is as her aunt gets better then she’ll arrange for them to talk to her father, OK? He reluctantly agrees, having lost yet another battle.

Avances: Jero tells Marina he wants to start a new life at her side.

Dicho of the Day:
Mejor solo que mal acompañado = Better alone than poorly accompanied. It's better to be alone than to be with the wrong person.

What a lovely way to start a Friday morning -- waking to fresh coffee and your clever and thorough recap.

Yep! you hit it on the head with your title. Those two were doing the act with their eyes.

Auggie was certainly steaming ass he watched that good-bye near kiss. I thought he overplayed it when he went on about Jero using his money to lord it over everybody, His complaint about Jero reneging on the deal to sell him La Bonita by paying the huge fine is a thin accusation anyway but then he goes on to claim that Jero made up lies about him attacking Carlos and mistreating the workers. It seemed stupid for him to bring up those things -- isn't tht just going to plant ideas in Renata's head (I hope!)

Lots of fun lines in this one. Some of my faves -
-very sweetly and stalker-like
-Matias, never too grieved to play the martyr.
- pushes him off of her as if he were a disease.
-Jero, playing the role of the anvil,

I thought Carlos dirving into the vineyard with Laz hiding under the dash was really cute. I like these two together. Too bad about that anvil.

Güera

You did it again Sylvia - amazing recap. Loved your "He says no, this telenovela is not nearly far enough along to start communicating intelligently ".

But thank goodness for Gonzo, who with Adri busy, is filling in as our resident voice of reason. So glad he's planted that seed of doubt and "unapproval" in Nata.Once again she saw how possessive Auggie can be, that's not "trying something new". That's walking into a disaster. Being single for while is tring something new too.

And Matias can just shut up. ( Even warning Auggie--big whoop. Not enough to get you off the jerk list.)

The whole "missing your flight you should have called" gets on my last nerve. Jero had no idea Tata was waiting and he just had a friend attacked and near death. Just me, but that drove me nuts with her and Padre.

Why do the people in this TN shout at the poor people in hospital? Hon needed to tone it down a few pegs and maybe listening calmly to Coni would have given some clue. My other question, so she won't be able to talk, can she write? Is there paralysis? I don't recall that being mentioned...so maybe she could just scribble Fina's name? Wonder if we'll see another appearrance of the Fina's nurse disguise as she tries to off Coni?

Oh, and if I was Laz, I would have just yanked the vine starter out of the ground and taken it back to La Bonita saying "Lookie what I found at Auggie's!" But that's me...

Thanks, thanks, for the speedy recap. It really has started a gloomy, rainy day off in a grand fashin.

daisynjay--100% agree. The sickly vine wouldn't make it in the real world (nothing in my yard survives once it starts looking poorly, (unless you count the endless weeds that seem immortal) and some of my good stuff seems to just mysteriously disappear overnight. (We have voles that love bulbs and roots). Come on Laz, a quick jerk out of the ground--ah, but then the TN plot would probably miraculously regrow it.

Auggie can't seem to keep his hands off Nata, always trying to drag her this way and that and lord it over her. I loved seeing her disengage her arm from his clutches.

This coming and going from DF to Ensenada is enough to make a person dizzy. I always have wished for a "beam me up, Scotty" machine, and I must say these folks have the next thing to it. Fasten your beanies!

JayGee

"All night long..." okay, that song will play in my head all day now...good thing I like it! Terrific title and I liked all the witty remarks Guera and Daisynjay mentioned plus your quip about love...
Renata: "there are two kinds of love"
Sylvia the recapper: yeah, in love and NOT in love

So funny!

Also loved Super Laz with his super powers can tell that piddly vine was from la Bonita. Rrrrright.

I think Renata was apologizing for that rude phone call she made to Jero after his very kind bail-out of the company. And Inez asked Chema to "mind the store" while she went to the hospital and he agreed, until he realized Constanza had been injured and then he just took off running. Should be an interesting confrontation in the hospital with Honorio, Mathias, and Andriana. More hysterics no doubt.

Yess, Daisynjay..someone please get Constanza a pad of paper and pen instead of yelling and screaming when she can't get words out. Would love to see a bit of good ol' Anglosaxon reserve once in a while in these telenovelas.

Sylvia- I love the title. Funny, and a little bit dirty, like when you add "in bed" to the end of your fortune cookie fortune.

I'm with Judy that Nata was appologizing for the rude call that she did out of spite and anger. But I think she was also sort of appologizing for getting engaged to Augie, which she did for the same reasons. That whole conversation was funny, because it was all about them fighting the urge to kiss each other. I think they both even licked their lips in anticipation at some point, and Jero even stepped back when he was coming dangerously close to kissing her. I think he has more will power (when it comes to pouncing on the heroine) than any other galan I've seen.

Augie is such a sucker. How many times has Nata been a little too supportive of his going to Ensenada, and staying there, while she stays in the city, never giving him a second thought?

What are Jero and Padre going to do about Kari and Laz and their marriage? That just sucks on so many levels!

Connie didn't move her arms or legs during that whole scene of hysterics in the hospital room. Remember, even Cata moved her arms around as she tried to tell Gina about Pepa/Fina. I think Connie might be paralyzed and mute, which is horrible! But, pretty effective if they want to keep the Pepa/Fina mystery going a bit longer, and different that the usual coma or amnesia. But it does mean that Connie is tortured. Like locked-in syndrome. The same thing happened in Alguien te Mira, and the poor victim had to put up with the killer who injured her, visiting her in the hospital all the time with the blessing of her doctors, friends and family. The actress had wonderfully expressive big eyes which conveyed her sadness and terror perfectly. Hopefully, Connie won't get any visits from Fina. That would just be horrible.

Ay yi yi..."locked in syndrome"...Vivi, you're probably right. AND the actress playing Constanza also has very expressive eyes. Sure hope the scenario doesn't play out that way with creepy visits from Fina. Or even Roberta.

Great job, Sylvia. Very funny (gee, it sure didn't seem so hilarious as I watched it). My favorites have been taken already, but bear repeating, they are so good:

"...there are many types of love. (Right, 1. in love, and 2. not in love.)"

"He says no, this telenovela is not nearly far enough along to start communicating intelligently..."

"That’s our Matias, never too grieved to play the martyr."

I want the DNA lab franchise for this show... not only will I be able to prove that Renata is little Regina Jr., but also that that scrawny little grape vine is the La Bonita strain.

For some reason, Augie and Renata make me think of Wylie Coyote and the Roadrunner.

Could someone remind me what Dr. Nesme knows that is so danged vital? Why is this cockroach still alive?

Carlos

Carlos, I think on Dr. Disgusting, he can confirm that Auggie was sort of "in" on knowing the Doc goofed with Rafa (which Jero wants to prove). For us, he also knows about the sabotage on the vines and stealing that miraclously easy to spot La Bonita vine (which Jero doesn't know about). of course, now Zeke and Laz are figuring that out.

Folks, anything I'm missing??

daisynjay, the more I think about it, the more I consider him expendable... I say let's vote him off the island.

Carlos

Hey Cap'n! Love the title, Girl! That really stood out for me, the way Nata was looking at Jero's lips almost salivating! Now I hear Lionel Ritchie singing away!!

Daisy, I feel the same about the hospital scene. Wouldn't she have been in a therapeutic, chemically induced coma after surgery?? Of course I don't know but anyway she was awake, understandably speech-impaired and agitated so Hon yells "I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU". Poor Connie. Let her rest, awaken with all her faculties intact and let someone with more calm and patience, flanked by a police officer be ready with a pen and pad and ask her some questions.

Chema bolting out of el centro was a hoot! Where are the writer's going with his killer migraines?

Love the bit about super powers detecting the sickly sapling was one of La Bonitas!

And Berta. Hmmmm. Is the worm turning? Cap'n, thanks again, another rockin' recap!

Lila

Thanks Sylvia for clearing up that conversation with the commandante. I thought he was talking about security cameras on Coni's house and I couldn't figure out why the cameras didn't catch Fina going in. But you said it was cameras watching the entrance to the residential compound. Now -- how long until someone gets an aha moment and figures out that the attacker was someone already IN the compound????

I agree with Roberta that Fina's absence makes her look suspicious. I don't know why she doesn't see that -- but then she's not seeing anything clearly. I'm glad that Berta seems appalled at Fina's coldness.

Güera

Out of the park, Sylvia! Thanks for all of your humorous bits. Carlos listed my favorites, in order no less. Go Carlos! I also agree about Roadrunner and Wylie Coyote.

And oh yeah, Allllll night loooong...

Let's definitely vote Dr. WhyDon'tYouJustDieAlready off the island, the continent, the planet.

Matias, Get. A. Life.

Has my vote Carlos! Pull the plug on the guy!

Great scenario Lila with Coni. I remember an episode of CSI years ago when they had victim that could only move their eyelids. So no blink was a No and blinking was a Yes. They could feed her questions like "Did you know your assailant?" and she could just blink away. But then, this is the same police force that screwed up the BSC take down at the coffee bar.

Güera, wasn't Augi's lies about Jero mistreating his own workers and making up the attack on Carlos just about the stupidest thing he could do? Nata has seen with her own eyes how Jero treats his staff...and how Augi treats his.

daisynjay, I was going nuts the way Honorio and the doctor were yelling at Coni. Sheesh, they didn't even give the poor woman a chance. The operating room doc said something about therapy so I don't think we know yet if it is speech or physical or what.

JayGee, they sure must have a lot of flights back and forth from Tijuana to Mexico City. I don't know how long the flight takes but the drive from Tijuana to Ensenada is about 1.5 hours.

JudyB, thanks for clarifying about Inez wanting Chema to mind the store. Dang that boy was out the door FAST.

Vivi, now that the Padre knows about Doc Nesme being alive how are they going to deal with Kari and Laz? Doc OfTheLivingDead is super inconvenient now.

Carlos, his only value right now is that he knows Augi took out a contract on him and all of Augi's other secrets that daisynjay mentioned. Get a witness, sign a paper, give it to Jero, die.

Kari and Laz...just horrible for them. Locked-in Syndrome...just horrible for Coni.

Lila, about Chema's migraines, I think it's a good idea for him to go straight to the hospital. In fact I get the feeling he will have his own room there shortly.

Emilia, ITA about Matias. His Grumpiness is adding little or no value to the family unit right now.

Happy Friday, Sylvia! That is one accurate title. Hopefully Jero and Nata eventually follow up on that obvious attraction from last night.

Go, go, Gonzo! Nata might actually listen to his reservations about Augie. She seems to ignore everyone else's warnings but now the seed of doubt has been firmly planted.

Matias needs to get over himself. He reminds me too much of Eeyore to take him seriously.

Chema's going to give himself another fainting spell if he makes a habit of sprinting off like that. His speed was pretty impressive.

Vivi, I think you're right about Connie suffering "locked-in" syndrome. The first thing I thought when she couldn't speak was "Get her a pen!". But then I remembered from a class last year that there's a certain part of the brain that controls both verbal and motor capabilities; when that area is injured it causes a lot of speech and movement difficulties.

If that's where they are going with this, how awful for Connie. Please keep Fina away from the hospital. It would be just like her to torture Connie further or come back to finish the job.

It seems to be a rule in Telenovela-Land that everyone must behave like buffoons whenever someone is in the hospital. Just have to chalk it up to the drama factor. Rationality gets you no where in a TN. ;)

Amy

Sylvia: Pure pleasure. I loved your descriptive, all encompassing recap. Your humor was spot on and the title had me smiling right out of the gate.

I agree with all of your amazing phrases everyone has already noted. I laughed out loud at:"(NOT in a windbreaker!!" - yes, for once!

Nata always seem to walk with a purposeful stride, especially to speak to Jero (or is it to run from Augi? I get so easily confused). When I watch her, I sometimes forget she is an actress, her portrayal is so real.

Coni's situation is SO sad. I cannot help but believe a miracle recovery is waiting in the wings.

Thank you for the wonderful summary and dicho Sylvia.

Happy Friday all!

Diana

"He reminds me too much of Eeyore to take him seriously."

Amy, you just made my day!

Thank you Sylvia--I missed so much of the dialogs last night, don't know why (maybe waiting to see if there was going to be a real kiss distracted me). I hoped in vain.

Renata needs to heed papa's advice and listen to her heart--or at least her unfailing attraction to Jeronimo every time she runs into him. Too bad, as "he" said, this tn is not far enough along for the two of them to be talking intelligently.

If Laz had dug up the sarmiento, all the culpa would have pointed toward Ezeke and the poor schmuck watching over it. It was not for nothing that Auggie hid it among his regular vines. Not a good way to preserve a life-long friendship, so the LaBonita folks will have to think of another way to prove the theft. Aha--DrNotDeadYet was in on the theft. So, there's a reason to keep him alive for now.

@Carlos--It must be the way of tn directors and those setting up hospital scenes, but it bugs the heck out of me that they don't have the sides of the beds up for patients. I don't think a real hospital would do this for someone so recently out of surgery.

Also, isn't what Coni has also called aphasia? At least we know her brain is working. A friend of mine went through this kind of trauma and it took several years of intensive speech therapy to get him back to being understood by others (at least by the ones who hadn't taken the time and patience to listen and help). We used pencil and paper a lot.

I think Fina is losing her grip on things. How is she going to risk meeting Gina to make the money exchange when she's paranoid about being fingered for the assault. She was clever, though to make it look like a real robbery to throw off our ever-ready comandante off the trail.

Guera--I hope someone in DF thinks about the cameras and that it could possibly be someone in the compound, too. Jero, of course could shed more light on suspects who live there--such as who was home at the time...

So, he needs to come back to DF ASAP to help with the investigation (teehee).

I still think that Gitana is going to be the key to Jero and Nata's reconciliation. They made such a to-do about that gorgeous horse to put her out to pasture (so to speak), along with Antonio, the bull-slinger. Wonder how he's doing. Did he go to Spain or Argentina (not that I really care).

I do miss Spare Girl Arely, though.
NOK

NOK, Vivi or anyone who knows or remembers: Did Connie outright tell Jero she was going to hell mansion to get a writing sample or was that something that occured to Connie that she could do to help and Jero didn't have specific knowledge of her plan to go there? And what is the name of the maid who received Connie when she got there? She could be useful along with Jero's testimony. I'm sure he's smart enough to make up a lie about why he would ask Constanza to get something from hell house. Just wondering. Jero has two worthy, though subterranian, plots going on right now for which others have or will pay dearly (Connie and Laz/Kari), time for him to put up something more than money to get this murderous mystery solved!

Lila

Lila- Connie didn't tell him she was going to the big house to get the writing samples, but how else did he think she was going to get them? It's not like Fina and Connie are writing each other love letters. I think the robbery theory is throwing him off the scent. If he had been there when the cops told Gonzo and Matias that there was no evidence of an intruder coming into the compound, then he probably would have gotten suspicious. I still have hope that Jero will help them figure it out.

Yeah, and he needs to straighten out this mess with DocShouldBeDead-Kari-Laz ASAP!

Splendid recap. Everyone's already mentioned my favorite stuff but it was a great read all the way through.

I HATE how telenovela characters treat hospital patients. It was bad enough for Honorio to get panicky and yell and upset Constanza more, but the doctor should know better. And why didn't they even try blinking? Maybe Adriana will think of that tonight.

Honorio reminded me of Paloma in En Nombre del Amor. Her mother was in the hospital with a massive head and neck trauma, and Paloma jumped on her bed and grabbed her and shook her violently, screaming at her not to die. Great, Paloma...maybe she had a chance, but you just killed her. I personally see great value in the ability to keep one's cool.

The fortunes of the haciendas are riding on one pathetic tiny vine? Okaaaaaayyyyyyy...

I wanted Jero and Renata to just go for it. They so wanted to. Heck, turn this episode into a U.S.-style medical drama and slip into an empty room or janitor's closet and really have at it, just to make Augustin's head and other parts explode with rage.

I'm really curious to find out what Jero has planned for Dr. JustDieAlready. Why did he let them stage a fake funeral if he didn't want Kari to go ahead and marry Lazaro?

Thanks, Vivi! You know, I'm not one for lists but I wish I'd kept track of all the different things you guys have called Alvara, especially the derogatory names which refer to that he would just die: FUN.NY!!! Does he still think Auggie had something to do wth Rafa's death as well as grapevine copyright infringement?

Lila

. . .Alvaro. . .that he SHOULD just die. . .

Lila

Who's Alvaro???;-)

Julia--I think Jero staged the fake funeral to preserve and protect DrKnowsSomething until Jeronimo needed him to rat out Auggie.

Remember when things didn't go Auggie's way in their jailhouse visitation scene, Auggie arranged a convenient jailhouse assault, which didn't finish off DrDeathDefyingSlobOnaSlab.

Jero didn't count on Kari changing her mind about marrying Laz.

"DrDeathDefyingSlobOnaSlab"...LOL!!! That might be the funniest one yet.
