Cuando Me Enamoro #97 Thursday 9/1/11 The jockettes of Ensenada - La Doctora goes fishing, Berta climbs a tree and Renata wrestles jerks

Last night we concluded with Renata arriving at the fauxlorio (fake velorio). She looks extremely hot in her funereal dominatrix garb. Jero rips into her that she is not welcome at La Bonita!

Oh snap, without missing a beat Nata retorts she’s not there for him but to support Kari, now step aside.

Renata offers her condolences (pésame) to Kari and they hug. I’m still blown away by how great Renata looks. Did Augi buy that outfit for her? Nice hair too. Everybody stares at Nata as she tells Kari that when someone treats you well you never bury them from your life (don’t forget them), but when someone easily causes you pain you can bury them far away from your life and your heart .

Jero stands just behind them hearing all of Nata’s words. But does he feel bad or guilty? Does he realize she could be talking about him? Not at all. He pipes up, “I totally agree with you Renata, now take off.” Nata firmly explains she doesn’t like being there either, she’s done what she came to do and now she’s leaving. Jero, still not content that he has proven what a jerk he is, grabs her arm, pulls her away from Kari, and escorts her toward the door. Nata shakes him off and proudly exits. Doc Tata watches. Do you like what you see doc? Because you could be on the receiving end one day. Or maybe you’re one of those chicas who think they can change a man? Nopis, never gonna happen.

Manuela stops Renata and tries to explain Jero’s bad behavior but Nata will hear none of it. She’s in a rage and snaps at Manuela (I think SN really made Manuela jump) that Jero is a bum. Everyone says she should understand him but who ever tried to understand her? Manuela speaks of their great love and Nata is all “Excuuuuse me, you call the way he spoke to me a great love?” Errrr, not exactly, admits Manuela, she adds that Jero is acting out of pain and jealousy. Nata corrects her, Jero never loved her and the jealousy is only his bruised ego. Manuela insists she has seen with her own eyes how he’s cried over Nata.

Augi discovers Nata has gone to the funeral without him and he’s in a right snit. Yep, there go his bottom teeth jutting out. (Thanks RLO for pointing that out.) Berta, hanging out by the pool which is her favorite pastime no matter where she is, gloats and giggles that Augi has a meltdown.

Doc Tata enters Jero’s study to console the brooding cretin, She kneels at his feet and pats his knee. Oh gag me with a spoon. He gripes about Nata showing up but Doc Tata wisely tells him that when he agreed to have the velorio at his house he opened it up to all people, including Renata. He behaved badly in front of a lot of people and had no right to humiliate her. Jero scowls and sulks that Renata humiliated him more, ending up with his worst enemy, boo hoo. DocTata reminds him they are divorced, plus an engagement doesn’t mean she loves Augi. She could be seeking refuge. Jero whines that he doesn’t know if Renata ever really loved him.

Manuela tells Nata she can’t keep quiet when she sees someone making the wrong decision, like Nata becoming engaged to Augi for example. Does Nata really think she can be happy with Augi? Nata’s not sure but she hopes so. Besides, one nail drives out the other, right? Manuela warns her that can also leave you with a wall full of holes (hoyos). Manuela knows that Nata and Jero love each other. Nata tells her that sometimes love isn’t enough.

When Nata returns to Cruz de Amor Augi jumps up and demands to know where she was. Nata snaps it was a last minute decision and she doesn’t need to ask his permission. He backpedals and uses the “I was worried for your safety” excuse. He wisely changes the subject, how about they go to the beach tomorrow? She wiselier* tells him she can’t marry him and wants to leave forever. Augi is all “Wahhh, stay with me.” She rolls her eyes. (*made up word)

It’s a full moon (as always) over the wine country and Laz visits the Padre, still clad in his colorful, purple robe. Laz wants to confess something right here and now. He feels bad because he’s happy about Alvaro’s death. The Padre stops him right there, “Me too bro. That guy was evil incarnate; may he rot in hell, God willing.” Hee, I made that up. The Padre stops Laz and suggests that what he’s feeling is liberation because Alvaro is no longer an obstacle for Laz and Kari. The Padre absolves Laz, no penitence.

Jero calls Regina to offer condolences. I wish Gonzo would be there to grab the phone, tell Jero he’s not welcome and then hang up on him. I wonder how Jero would like it? No such luck. Jero tells Gina they have lots to talk about and he’ll see her soon.

Gonzo visits Honorio in jail and fills him in on Cata’s death. He says Gina’s all torn up because she and the metiche mama were on the outs and Cata died before Regina could shut her pie-hole, er...I mean before they could reconcile. Hons says that’s why you have to tell your peeps you love them when you can. Gonzo reveals to Hons that today they are going to entrap BSCBlanca and Hons will be free.

Regina tells gal pals Cons and Inez that she is doomed to be alone. Um, they remind her about Gonzo. Oh yeah, that guy she's supposed to marry. Gina is still whining about mom not forgiving her (for what exactly?) and adds that Cata said something about Pepa and Gonzo’s wife. Cons repeats "about Pepa and about Fina". Why did she say that? Gina says they were Cata’s last words. Think Cons, think!

Creep me out, Augi is playing a little game with Nata. He’s covered her eyes and is leading her into a room. It doesn’t seem like she’s enjoying the game. Probably because it’s just a lame excuse for him to manhandle and clutch her. He’s got a grand surprise for her...LOOK!

He uncovers Nata’s eyes and she sees a huge mock up of his new Renacer (or something like that) label featuring Nata’s silhouette, she’s his muse. Big whoop, say Renata's eyes. Roberta spies and skulks off with her lips curled in a snarl.

Over at La Bonita Kari thanks Jero and he tells her she is a beloved by the entire hacienda. She says finally it’s all over. “Not all,” slips Jero. “Que????” ask Kari and Manuela. “Err, your life continues,” he ad-libs, “and all your friends are here to surround you.” Mati offers up her room since she and Carlos are moving out right after the wedding. Mati’s headband is too tight and she can’t see the big gigantic anvil hurtling towards her.

Oh HO, I see Dr. Tatarrific has decided she won’t be outdone by Nata’s hotness. Her exuberant bosom threatens to burst from her dress as she tells Jero today she discovered not only is he generous but he’s got the most noble heart she’s ever known. Maybe she didn’t agree with how he treated Renata but it showed he has passion. He has been a great surprise in her life. Wow, she’s good. She baits her hook, she casts her line, and he bites!! Her reward is a big mouth bass beso from Mr. Passion. Be careful what you wish for honey.

Nata tepidly tells Augi that of course she’s happy about his label. Mutual thanks back and forth, yawn. He says after they are married this will be the first picture they have in their home. Nata’s smile disappears. She sighs that her divorce with Jero wasn’t easy and she doesn’t want to experience the same with him. Augi gives his word (hack hack) that will never happen. She’s uncomfortable with him always speaking of her as his woman, his wife, and she asks for his patience. He responds, “All that you need...just so long as I can lock you in my prison palace, control your life and boink your sister until the end of our days.” (I made up everything past the dot dot dot.)

After Marina leaves Jero berates himself for the kiss. It’s not fair for him or for her. She deserves better than to be in his failure of a life. I believe he's talking about Marina even though he flashed back on kissing both Marina and Nata. I'm going to set my stopwatch to see how long it takes Jero to go sniffing after La Doc.

Laz sees Kari in the vineyard and he makes his move. Turns out his move could have been as easy as passing gas because Kari jumps on him. Falling into his arms she declares she needs him more than ever.

As they stroll happily through the vineyard Mati steps out behind them and comments at last they’re together, and she’s with Carlos, and they can all live happily at La Bonita. The anvil continues to hurtle toward La Bonita.

Elsewhere in the vineyard Alfonsina and Carlos inspect the vines and determine that the combination of insecticide and their mysterious neon brew is doing the trick. Now they need to get the word out to the other haciendas. Alfonsina is worried because they haven’t invited Cruz de Amor to play, what with all the bad blood between Augi, Jero and Renata. Carlos sets his jaw and says they have to do what’s good for the valley and not get wrapped up in personal problems. Give the plant cure to Ezequiel.

Coni asks Regina if she has any pictures of her daughter. When Gina dashes off to get more pictures Coni tells Inez she’s interested because Gina saw Pepa close by her house. She wants to be on high alert. Inez says thus far all she and Isidro have had are red herrings.

Regina shows Coni some age-progression drawings and Coni gasps. Regina already knows why, they look like Gonzo’s daughters don’t they? But the family investigated and they could be projections of thousands of girls.

BSCBlanca meets Daniel in a cafe. She tells him to open his computer and send her the info she requested. Daniel looks guilty and the employees look like suspicious plain clothes cops.

Matias visits Adri to stop by with a burrito and steal a kiss while the coast is clear (sin que hay moros en la costa). Unfortunately he has to rush back to work to monitor the BSCBlanca sting operation. He tells her that Daniel went to the dark side for Adri, so he could be rich and deserving of her. Adri feels sorry for Daniel and says he’s not really a bad person. I'm sorry Adri, but he's not really a good person either.

Blanca gets the information and Daniel tells her she’s a genius. She admits she’s got a bit of experience at this, more than he knows. The plain clothes cops hover closely to catch every word. Blanca becomes frustrated while waiting for some sort of confirmation to load on her laptop, glances at the suspicious behavior around her, and warns Daniel this had better not be a trap.

She pretends to go to the bathroom and makes her escape while Daniel kvetches ineffectually. Once again BLSBlanca’s big bazongas carry her forward at lightning speed and she leaves the cops in the dust.

The La Bonita ladies are happily cooking and discussing the upcoming familial fun when wet blanket Kari informs Mati she won’t be doing any partying for awhile. It wouldn’t be prudent since she’s in mourning (de luto). Manuela confirms that it’s tradition. Mati’s bummed that Kari won’t be able to meet her in-laws tonight. FF>>

Jero and Carlos are in the vineyard inspecting the vines. They are happy to note that their cure is fixing the plant plague. Carlos says something about meeting his parents to go on a wine tour before dinner. Jero wants a lift into town to “clear up” something with Marina. Yeah, right. Thirteen minutes including commercials.

Nata and Augi are looking all over for Roberta. Ezequiel runs in to say Berta borrowed a horse, one of the Aztecas that nobody but Augi is allowed to touch. Nata is surprised, Berta doesn’t even like to ride. Augi yells first at Ez and then at Nata, doesn’t she understand about someone being under his protection? No, well, yes of course, she says, staring inquisitively into his crazed eyes.

Roberta is fine and doing her own tour. She wanders over to the love tree, sees “Renata y Jeronimo” and laughs that this heart is roto, roto, roto! (broken) She made me laugh, too, as she whacked it with her little stick. She moves up the branch (Hey Berta, I think your sister had sex on that branch!!) and sees the “Berta y Rafael” heart. She flashes back to yet another sexy but scruffy galán who professed that he wanted to shout out his love for her to the four winds.

Roberta sheds bitter tears and reflects that Rafael should be by her side. Instead she is lonelier than ever. She’s not like Renata, whom everybody adores and wants to marry. She hugs the branch and cries how much she misses Rafa. Truly a sad scene. Luckily I plan to hate her again in about 2 seconds.

BSCBlanca disguises herself by donning a baseball cap (cachucha). She skulks around town hiding from cop cars.

At the same time the police and Team Monterrubio are getting a debrief from nervous Daniel. Blanca is now more dangerous than ever. They need to find her soon so that Hons can get out of jail.

The Comandante yells at someone on the phone, if they lose Blanca now they’ll never find her. Daniel says he has an alternate address for her, she lives in Parish (parroquia) 3-0. The Comandante puts out an APB. Car 54 where are you??

Jero and Carlos arrive in town. Jero tells Carlos not to wait for him and to wish him luck. Blech.

Jero knocks on Doc Tata’s door and they make goo-goo eyes at each other. They’ll meet soon. Marina asks her grinning patient, “now where were we?”

Fina paces and soothes her headache by abusing and insulting the maid. I think I’ve used this line in at least three recaps. Surely this poor maid can find another job? Oh well, times are tough.

Fina asks if Berta has called. Of course not; Fina wonders where her daughter has gone. She demands the phone which the maid picks up from right next to Fina and hands to her. I wonder if she chews Fina’s food too?

Fina dials Berta but gets voice mail yet again. She demands that Roberta return immediately. She mutters something about very little time left to give the final blow to Regina.

Berta strolls the Ensenada plaza enjoying her ice cream cone when she runs into Jero. She rubs it in that she’s staying at her future brother-in-law’s. She casually comments her sister changes boyfriends more frequently than her socks. When they like her she gives them the boot. Jero retorts that Berta is no paragon of virtue (dechado de virtudes). Surprisingly Jero sticks up for Renata and says she never had it on with his brother Rafa.

This charming conversation is interrupted by Tatas. As in Doctor. “Doctora?” says Roberta, muy pero muy impactada to recognize the woman who could blow her lies out of the water.

Avances: Pride before love, betrayal before heart, and spite before reason.

cachucha = baseball cap
dechado de virtudes = paragon of virtue
de luto = in mourning
hoyos = holes
metiche = nosy, buttinsky
pésame = condolences
roto = broken
sin que hay moros en la costa = while the coast is clear (Lit. without Moors the coast)

Repeat dicho of the day:

Un clavo saca otro clavo = there are other fish in the sea (lit. one nail drives out the other)

Cap'n Sylvia!!!! I got to see CME on a REAL telly in REAL time. What a FANTASTIC recap! Dr. Tatariffic with her exuberant bosom! MY WORD, Amiga...what a way with words you have!

Then...I loved 'fauxlorio'. Oh yes...I am going to remember that one for the future. Then...there was her 'funereal dominatrix garb'. Wowsers. That was something else, wasn't it? What in the world are the costumers/dressers thinking here?!

So, I finally got to see a capitulo and I get to see Tatariffic and Jero close ups. Believe me when I tell you I looked away.

Was that a look of realisation in Renata's eyes when Augie Doggie went crackers over the horse? I certainly hope so.

I'm just so very thankful that Nata is having second thoughts about Augie (as she should be) and that she has the strength to tell him to his face.

Did I misunderstand Jero at the every end when he told Carlos that he was going to 'set things straight' with Tatariffic? I assumed he was going to tell her that he would not feel right in 'using' her. I guess it took just one look at her 'exuberant bosom' and that was all she wrote.

Wonderul, Cap'n; just wonderful work!

Gracias!!

Susanita

Cap'n Sylvia: Thank you, too for the vocab!! That is ALWAYS greatly appreciated!!

Susanita

Susanita, I'm so glad you got to actually see tonight's episode. And there was a lot to see.

Yes, Jero said he was going to "set things straight" or "clarify" things with La Doc. It's a pretty vague description and could mean anything. However the advances show that it means another lip lock with our favorite eavesdropping spy in attendance.

I do believe it was a look of realization in Nata's eyes because first she said No she didn't understand his wrath, then she quickly change to "OK yes, sure". For a smart cookie it is taking her a very long time to figure him out.

Oh Cap'n my Cap'n, You are absolutely on fire tonight! Starting with the most clever title of the week and down through every paragraph, your wit is razor sharp. Exuberant bosom, indeed. I laughed so hard, I am still quite out of breath. You're the tops, Toots! You made this melodrama really sing and sting. Mil gracias.

Renata's eyes are showing some signs of intelligent life behind that china doll face. I wish she hadn't yelled at poor sweet Manuela so but she was no more inappropriate than Mr. I of the night, Jero kicking her out of the fauxlorio with no thought to how Karina must feel.

The Exubberant Tatafiffic lost my respect when she said Jero's apeish tantrum at Renata in the middle of a funeral made her HOT not scandalized at all. Talk about enablers. I no longer will feel bad that she is setting her path way on being REBOUND SEX PARTNER. passion indeed.

Again Roberta is getting little zingers from Jero and boinking from Augie but probably having the most fun of any of the principal women. I'm so glad she is ignoring Mamita's snitty messages.

I also think Constanza will be the one to solve the mystery with aid from Inez, since everyone else is too tied up in their own problems.

And Susanita, wasn't Jero doing a version of that old joke, Let's get something straight between us???

Cap'n Sylvia, I salute you! You had me laughing and nodding in agreement through every delicious paragraph of your dynamic recap. I didn't want the recap to end. Like all great entertainers, you left me wanting more!

I've always thought Renata is beautiful, but wow! she looked smokin' hot in her mourning clothes.

Let me get this straight: Jero humiliates the widow's friend at the "fauxlorio" (great word, that), manhandles her and gives her the bum rush out the door. Then he sulks and pouts about how "cinica" Renata is for showing up. And then everyone talks about what a noble and wonderful man he is! Nice work if you can get it.

C'mon Renata, just because you divorced one man, doesn't mean you have to get engaged to his neighbor and rival. There are other men in Mexico. Or heck, come up to Los Angeles. I may not have a vineyard, but I have a decently stocked wet bar.

That was so funny, Cap'n: even when you feel sorry for Roberta, it's hard to invest too much emotion since you know in just a few scenes, you'll be hating her all over again.

I am starting to admire BSCBlanca. She's got loads of moxie, weaponizing the cappuccino machine and, once again, outrunning everyone while wearing spiked-heel boots and lugging the twins around.

Great, great work Cap'n! Thanks for ending my day with laughter!

Juan Miguel

Another great one Cap'n. Yes "fauxlorio" is a great word. (Of course we are all sure it is one -- won't we be surprised if Dr. Icky is not merely dead but really most sincerely dead?)

That was Renata's hottest look yet in, as you put it so cleverly, funereal dominatrix garb. How could Jero bear to kick her out?

You know that I cut Jero a lot of slack cause I'm entranced ... but even so I loved your "brooding cretin" reference.

Cons is getting to be more & more sure that Pepa is Fina and Fina is Pepa. How is she going to proceed without putting herself in danger.

Now that Blanca is on the run again we have several people in mortal danger from those two crazies. Could those undercover cops have BEEN more Obvious?? No wonder Blanca caught on. But how is she able to outrun everybody in those heels? Does she have jet packs in her stilettos?

Did anyone catch the alias the cops used when sending out that apb? It wasn't the same one she used with the lawyer I think. Maybe she's some top ten most wanted criminal that the cops have been after for years.

Once again -- thanks for a recap that had me laughing start to finish -- and a great title.

Güera

Sylvia: I don't love your recaps for one big reason but for many amazing reasons: "Oh snap", "funeral dominatrix garb", "brooding cretin", and "exuberant bosom" (already popular here) - just wonderful.

I agree with everyone that this was sensational. I thoroughly enjoyed all your insightful observations, particularly on Doc Tata. The vocabulary and dicho were great, but my favorite was: "Avances: Pride before love, betrayal before heart, and spite before reason." Most excellent.

I loved that Laz admitted he was happy the evil Doc is dead (if indeed he really is). Let's hope this fast tracks his relationship with Kari.

Wonderful comments today. Cheryl's "Renata's eyes are showing some signs of intelligent life behind that china doll face" was terrific.

Happy Friday!

Diana

I loved your recap and always learn much from the vocabulary.
I wonder how long (anti)Jero is going to remain interested in Dr. "Tetas".
Apropos of doctors, why does everyone seem to be saying Cata suffered an "infarto" when it was obvious she was shot in the chest? Can someone explain this to me? Thanks

Hat's off to you, Sylvia. Loved the re-cap! I went to bed pondering 4 questions. You answered 3:
- what Manuela said to Renata at the funeral
- what Roberta was saying to Jero
-whether Regina, Coni and Inez dropped their manners enough for one of them to say "It has to be Fina! Let me show you a picture of her."
But, the 4th question is still bothering me. Before you FF>>d through the Kari / No Partying Tears, Matilde was squeezing ketchup into an empty watermelon. Gag. What was she making? What fruit dish is ever enhanced by ketchup? There I go dry heaving again. Good thing I haven't had breakfast yet.

Susanita - I am so happy you finally got to SEE what we've been talking about. Is Daily Motion not posting CME anymore?

Rosemary la Otra

Fina only pointed the gun at Cata. She did her heart clutch and tumble right then making it look like Fina shot her, but she did suffer a heart attack. This was confirmed at the hospital.

Wow, Sylvia... wow! A perfect recap. I can't think of a thing to add so I'll just heap on a bit more praise.

Fauxlorio

Wiselier

“Me too bro. That guy was evil incarnate; may he rot in hell, God willing.”

“All that you need...just so long as I can lock you in my prison palace, control your life and boink your sister until the end of our days.”

and my favorite:

I'm going to set my stopwatch to see how long it takes Jero to go sniffing after La Doc...
Thirteen minutes including commercials."

Just a perfect recap.

Well, I'll add one thing, Padre did suggest that Laz pray for Doc's soul since he'll probably need all the help he can get.

Carlos

OH,my my,my Sylvia. Did you ever knock it out of the park with this recap. Loved your descriptions of BSC and Doc TATA.

I also try to cut Jero slack at times, but his boorish behavior at the funeral once again reminded me of our Mr. Darcy. You wanted to slap him silly through the early stages, but thru his own trials and humiliations, he finally "gets it" and deserves the heroine. I think Jero is going to have to go thru some rally tough times, and deservedly so. DId like that TATA told him off initially, even though she didn't waste time later moving into the now vacant space on Jero's lips.

That ever brightening light in Nata is giving me hope she's beginning to see Augie for what he is. Oh, also thank RLO, now I watch for the jut-jaw too. I also hope that Nata continues to question why he won't back off the pushing for marriage right away no matter how she asks. But then I fear if she implodes or gets angry at him, as she has done with Jero, what would Augie do to her?

Nata needs her own "growing" to do I think, or maybe I should call it "hardening" as this TN grows. She needs to realize when those around her are playing her, be honest with her own feelings, and be comfortable with her own self. She has to actually "like" herself, and I'm not sure she does. She's always wanted to please those around her, be what others see her as, thanks to Fina, and she needs to identify who and what SHE is, not what others think she is.

If I was a guy, yeah, I'd be drooling over the hot babes, but I'd be tripping over the bodies trying to snatch up Adri. Honestly, right now, she is the sweetest thing. Hope she gets out of the wheelchair soon. Would like to see her wise ways down at the hacienda.

Could those "undercover" cops hanging over BSC be anymore obvious? She runs to survive another day - gotta say, that woman can spring, stupid oversized handbag and all.

Thankfully Gina told the right person about the "Pepa" line from Cata. I agree, Coni holds the key to cracking this thing, just as Fina is about to try the fake-out I bet on getting Berta the inheritance, not Nata. (Or I hope).

Wonder if Dr.TATA will spill about Berta? I doubt it. I think for now, that secret may stay hidden. Have to admit, I love the way she jacks around Augie.

Wait till Augie finds out the vines have survived. There will go that jutting jaw again!

Have a great holiday weekend folks!

Just got back from a walk on a perfect Syracuse morning -- looking over the recap I'm reminded of a few more of my favorite lines --

Fina asks for the phone anf the maid picks it up from right beside her and hands it to her. Does she chew Fina's food too>

Marina's "big mouth bass beso"

Mati’s headband is too tight and she can’t see the big gigantic anvil hurtling towards her.

Luckily Auggie is beginning to show his colors around Renata. She was taken aback when he snapped at her about going to the "fauxlorio" and she got an eyeful when he snapped again about Berta taking a horse & going riding without permission. He showed his controlling nature towards the women and he sure treats the help badly. Maybe she will also remember how scared little Ponchito was of Auggie. She told the little one that Auggie was a good man but the kid didn't seem to believe her. Duh!

Good morning mateys! Thank you all for your wonderful and supportive comments. I feel like I lucked into a doozy of an episode. It was just one great snark opportunity after another. However I truly am enjoying how the events unroll, I'm enjoying the characters, even the ones who drive me crazy, so I hope that enjoyment comes through the wisecracks.

Cheryl, I knew I was missing a good opportunity. All I could think of was "let's clear something up, clear up to where?" but I knew that wasn't right. "Let's get something straight" was it! Kudos to you.

Güera, was BSCB's alias Monique de la Rivera? I think we've heard that one before. And thank you for the Wizard of Oz quote, so appropriate;y funny and my absolute #1 favorite movie of all time.

UPDATE: I lust re-listened to the phone call and the Comandante used the name Maritza del Rio. BSCB likes those nature-type names, Ocampo (campo = country or field), Rio = river, Rivera = one who lives on a riverbank. Could our Blanca be a country girl at heart?? Will she somehow end up in the wine country? Now I'm more curious than ever about her.

Diana, the advance was what the voice over so dramatically blabbed at the end. I'm not sure if I got it exactly right but, oh, the high drama of it all!

Rosemary La O, I just watched the kitchen scene again. It DID look like Mati put ketchup in the watermelon. Gross! Too bad I missed that great opportunity for snark in the recap. Maybe she will add habañeros as well and that's what will put Carlos's parents over the edge. Or maybe she's just using the empty watermelon to make a big vat of BBQ sauce.

With Roberta now in the wine country I was getting the feeling that one by one our characters would be heading to the wine country for the big show down. But we are only a little over halfway through! What in he heck are the writers going to do to keep us tantalized?

Sylvia thanks for your great and funny recap. Unfortunately I was so disgusted with Jero, I had to turn off the telly so I really needed the recap.

Oh Karen, I can't say I blame you. I think our own Juan Miguel summed up my sentiments perfectly in his comment. The one ending with "Nice work if you can get it." However you missed some good stuff. That's what Fast Forward is for. Believe me, I use it when it's not my night to recap.

Daisy, ITA, let's get Adriana down to the wine country pronto!! They way Renata stuck up for her at dinner it is very obvious that she misses her friend very much. Adri is probably torn and wants to stay in the DF until dad gets out of jail. Maybe she and Matias can take a little getaway to Ensenada. Oh wait, Roberta is down there. Never mind.

Wow-eee! Sylvia, you da man!! What a fun and perfectly snarky recap.

Back when Cata was dying (and Regina was caterwauling) I thought I saw Cata blessing Gina, so in my mind if not Gina's, things were square between mom and daughter. Did anyone else see that? Or maybe Cata was just trying to shut Gina's mouth??

I also wondered at Renata's strange funeral garb. Mike also nailed it as dominatrix but decided not to say it. Glad you described it that way.

And, and, and, what kind of cop sting doesn't have somebody outside in case the perp makes a run for it? Beanie time.....

LOL Guera- my 8-8 birthday mate - I missed your "really most sincerely dead" the first time around until Sylvia pointed it out. Haha!

Daisy - sorry to make you focus on Augie's jut-jaw. Actually, I'd call his more a Crest-crag. Nice top, scary bottom. I wonder if he's considered fixing them but knows that he'd lose some of his villian power? I know in the midst of the Love Story rage, an orthodontist offered to straighten Ali McGraw's front teeth and she denied it, saying it helps define her. Now, I need you to focus on Roberta's tongue when she is mad!

Here's my long-term prediction for Renata and Augie. Renata won't leave him even after seeing his temper repeatedly. It will be too late and she'll be totally under his rule. Hopefully he won't tie her up and hide her under the bed a la Dr. Dead or Alive with Kari. Then Jero will come and rescue her. Gonzo will love Jero. Regina will be waiting with the baby photo and R necklace, poor Marina will no longer be exuberant and Roberta will think its all Stupido.

RLO

Rosemary, No worries. I concentrate on CFE's jaw jutting and it helps not making me remember what a scuzz he is.

As for Daily Motion, it's more the episodes were there, and then they got pulled. I tried to open one of the remaining ones one day and got that lovely " this video was pulled because it infringed" blah blah blah. Last time I saw that was when Univision was pulling that crap and yanking episodes forcing people to watch the tellie.
I'm frantically trying to check myself if my conference hotel has Univision so I can catch at least a couple episodes. Probably no luck, so I will just have to rely on our wonderful recappers each morning before I go down to the meetings. Better not be something awesome next week...

Glad someone else described Nata's funeral get-up. Shorts and a leather jacket? I was like-- gees. Where's the cycle you rolled in on? She needs to do some serious shopping.

At least she didn't wear the GREEN tights to the funeral. I hope those are in retirement.

Hey Ms. Sylvia...you obviously had a blast writing this, and we sure enjoyed reading it. Loved your "brooding cretin" and also "metiche mama"...that last has a certain ring to it. Could we put it to music?

And oh my, "big mouth bass kisses" has returned. Shades of Pablo Montero and the dreadful way he'd swallow up his hapless love interests in those long ago telenovelas.

Also thanks for the link to Azteca horses and how they came to be the national horse of Mexico. Very interesting.

Well, as "the anvil continues to hurtle towards La Bonita" we continue to see very strange garb. Shorts and tights to a funeral? Not ready for that though I liked the jacket and hairdo for Renata.

Major gripe: Not only was Jeronimo inappropriate at the velorio, Renata's rant about the Doc (subtext Jeronimo) was VERY INAPPROPRIATE. When you're supposedly consoling someone at a funeral, you don't diss the deceased or snip at the ex-husband. You comfort and care. Period.

Had to sympathize with poor Manuela. She's always trying to patch up things between folks. And failing. At least temporarily. Maybe she was a middle child. Seems like I tried to do that all my life and am STILL trying to un-learn it. Hang in there Manuela!

Muchisimas gracias for the recaps this week, everyone! I'm catching up this afternoon and the recaps have been a life-saver.

From what we've seen, Marina is a sweet woman. (Tatas aside.) I hope Jero doesn't end up hurting her too badly. Flirtation and bass besos are great but it's all fun and games until Jero eventually runs back to Nata. Maybe the writers can hook Tatas up with a hunky hombre from the pueblo to keep her from getting lonely.

Emilia, I thought the same thing about Cata and Regina. Mamá definitely blessed Regina before she passed away. I was sure that meant Cata was at peace with Gina but apparently not. Gina must be feeling guilty for having fought with her madre to begin with.

" Maybe she was a middle child. Seems like I tried to do that all my life and am STILL trying to un-learn it."

Awww, Judy, I'm convinced it's hard-wired into us middle kiddies.

@Amy...yes, I saw the blessing too. Regina was so busy caterwauling I think she missed it however.

@Daisynjay..oh my, another "middle child chronic fixer"? Knew there was a reason I liked you.

Emilia, I saw te blessing with the cross too and noted with dismay that Regina closed her eyes and screamed no, no, mama instead of feeling better. It's the only scene where I thought Regina was so annoying but she really blew that death scene and came away learning nothing. I was actually sorry for Cata who was nearly always annoying because she was really trying to help her daughter at the end. Ah telenovelas...

I am going back to my original opinion that Jero told the prison officials that he did not want to come talk to Nesme. I remember the doctor at the end saying he is going to have to die while eating his secrets.

Cap'n Syl: Thanks for confirming what I thought I heard Jero say about getting things squared away with Tatariffic.

Cheryl: Amiga...oh yes...Jero definitely wanted to get things STRAIGHT! I am dying laughing!!!

Rosemary la O: As daisynjay mentioned, Daily Motion is pulling ( or dear Uni is) all of the current capitulos for CME. They aren't even on rocotv.com. Yet, rocotv. com is carrying the Teresa capitulos!

I don't know...somebody out there in Uni land has a lot of 'splaining to do.

Susanita

As I was watching the real live telly last night, I saw the promo for the Gran por Fin of "Pequenos Gigantes".

Does that mean CME and/or Teresa won't be on tonight?

Susanita

Hi Caray folks....been a loooong time, but I had a quick thought to check it out and clicked a few times and here you all are. Hope all is well with everyone I know I have missed bunches...I haven't watched TV in ages, sort of good, but then sort of bad for my Spanish. I just got a new to me car with a CD player only, so I got an FM transmitter so I can play my music through my iPhone (oh yeah I have one of those now too, pretty fun stuff, I guess I actually could check Caray from there now...hmmm) and it works super well, so I've been able to listen to my Spanish music and it's getting me in the mood again. :) Miss you folks!! Have a great Labor Weekend, remember, don't work too hard. Los quiero,
k fuego gancho a los dedos (kris):)

Kris!! We miss you. So good to hear from you. CME is a good tn - the writers aren't leaving everything until the end. Things are resolved every week. Keeps us coming back. Stop by again, amiga.

Adriana has become my absolute favorite in this novela... not only for her "voice of reason", but love her spunk!! That playful headslap she gave Matias ("Yo soy Adriana, no soy Roberta!")... how perfect was that! And Matt's reaction--could it have been an unscripted moment? He seemed a bit startled :D LOVE this couple!!

Sorry, but Blanca's "on the run" scene makes me laugh out loud! That has got to be the most UNATHLETIC foot chase in the history of television... with her councing down the sidewalk in her heels with her purse over her arm, and no police in sight??

These were my two multiple-rewind moments this week. Keeping this on my DVR for a while, just for pure amusement.

~Another Amy

Ugh... I meant "bouncing"...

Kris, it's great to hear from you! Congratulations on your new-to-you car. Ditto what Emilia said. It's surprising, and sometimes shocking, how some things get resolved very quickly on this one. However new intrigues take their place and there are still a lot of question marks.

AA, I also thought the head slap surprised Matias. I think it was slightly harder than he anticipated. Or just a surprise, period.

Yep, Cata blessed Regina. Sign language was the only thing she could do because Regina wouldn't shut up.

According to my tivo it looks like CME will record as scheduled.

Hey all, I hope everyone has a wonderful and long weekend!!

Cap'n: I went to Justintv and did a search for CMESDET Capitulo 98. It says that there is no such capitulo!

Is CME being yanked off this site as well?!

Did I do an incorrect search?

I have to say...this is all driving me absolutely crackers.

Susanita

Well! I found Channel 34, Uni on Justin TV, but there is NO audio! What am I doing wrong? I don't even know how I found this channel, but it just popped up.

I can see all of the CME action as if it were live, but there is no audio. My laptop settings are fine as I was able to hear 2 commercials on the Justintv site.

RATS!!

Susanita

Yesterday I tried to get a head start on cap 97, went to justin.tv where it SAID I could find it and I got a black screen. No picture, no sound, just a big black square. Very irritating!

I just did a search for Cap 98 and found Parts 1 and 4 of 4 on Daily Motion, but not parts 2 and 3!

Part 1 of 4

Part 4 of 4

Cap'n: A thought just occurred to me. Do I have to sign into Justintv before I can hear anything?

Susanita

RATS indeed! I have no idea why the audio from justin.tv does not load on your computer. Maybe you should check out the justin.tv help forum and see if anyone there has any ideas. Maybe it would help to switch browsers? So if you browser is Internet Explorer then maybe try Firefox or vice versa.

To answer your question, I don't think so. I never had to. I don't like signing into things. I just clicked onto the Capitulo that I searched and the audio and video both loaded up. Except for yesterday.

Here is tonight's cap, I checked and I get the picture and the sound:CME Cap 98

Cap'n: I think I figured it out (but THANK YOU SO MUCH for the link)!!!!

I am getting it 'live' on Uni Channel 34 from Los Angeles! I watched CME in its entirety without audio until...get the VERY end!

I needed to hit 'play' and it played. I only hope that I am not stuck with some bill for getting this.

I will let you know.

Thank you SO much for helping me and for understanding my frustration with this.

Gracias, Amiga!!

Susanita

Yes please, let me know how it goes. I hate to get my butt kicked by stupid technology.

Allrighty then, I am signing off for a while as I'll be without wi-fi for about 24 hours or so.

" funereal dominatrix garb." I just hate the way Renata has been dressing lately. Short short, boots, double ugly. I wouldn't think that a mujer decente would wear such stuff, especially to a velorio.
