Teresa Fri 9/9/11 #135 Juana says “I Wanna” and Teresa leaves Fernando panting for more.

The teasing continues in Zacatecas: Teresa tells Fer she’ll divorce Arturo but first, Fer must break his engagement with Luisa. She kisses him then slinks away. Fernando is left panting – oh what to do? What to do?

CASA FERNANDO: Poor, innocent Luisa still has on her wedding gown while Oriana continues to talk smack about Teresa, saying she wouldn’t put it past her to search for a new husband since Arturo hasn’t recovered his fortune. Luisa defends Teresa as usual. Lucia comes back into the room but tries to leave when she hears the topic of conversation. Luisa explains Oriana is imagining the worst for Arturo while she (Luisa) is convinced he’ll reclaim his old lifestyle. Luisa believes Teresa loves her brother and wouldn’t leave him for someone else. Oriana says Luisa’s youth and naiveté are to blame for her views and her parents weren’t around to guide her(orientar).
VECINDAD: Refugio & Armando talk about the possibility of her babysitting Rodriguito. She wants to take him to visit Grumpy Gramps to see if that will de-grumpify him. FF>>

CASA FERNANDO: Oriana is convinced Teresa has no scruples and thinks she took the easy way up by finding the perfect match. Luisa refuses to believe Teresa acted with premeditation. Oriana is convinced Teresa’s ambition is satisfied with power, wealth, and fame. Luisa bristles and reminds Oriana that Teresa, her friend and sister-in-law, studied and worked hard because she aspired a better life. Oriana thinks this proves her point. Living in Fernando’s apartment is much better than Teresa was accustomed to. She urges Luisa to realize Teresa knows no limits, she always wants more. She whispers devilishly into Luisa’s ear: “Ambition with no limits is an impediment to happiness. It destroys the heart and feelings.” Uy, cucuy! Odiana scares me but I have to agree with this last sentiment.

ZACATECAS: Mar, Doofus, Butts, and Tio-Butts continue their night out and Tio-Butts proposes a toast to the end of bachelorhood and to all the couples: Doofus/Juana, Mariano/Aurora, and Johnny/Pati. The only one without a partner is el Tio – hey, Oriana’s available! Jaja. They’re into some serious drinking here and tio makes a joke, saying they’ve always called Cutberto “el genio” (genie) cuz whenever a bottle is opened, he appears. Yuk, yuk.

CASA FERNANDO: Arturo is hard at work as Oriana gets ready to leave. She tells him Luisa looks stunning in her bridal gown. Arturo mentions he was originally opposed to the pairing between her and Fernando. Oriana agreed she never thought she’d see the end of Fernando’s mujeriego (womanizer) days. (don’t look now momma el mujeriego is baaaaack) Luisa’s sweet and innocent ways won him over. They both agree the couple will be very happy. Arturo’s grateful she has been able to step in as Luisa’s mother figure during this pre-wedding time. Oriana promises to always be there for them. However, someone needs to help Luisa wake up. She’s lived such a protected life that she has no malicia (maliciousness, alertness, awareness). She explains that although Fernando loves Luisa, there will be many women who will come after him, especially now that he’s come into his father’s vast fortune. Luisa needs to be very aware of this. Arturo starts to object, thinking Oriana is about to jump on the Teresa bashing bandwagon. No, she was going to talk to him about Lucia, whom she finds to be extraordinary. She knows his mother would agree that Lucia would be the ideal woman for him. Artruo reminds her he’s already chosen Teresa as the woman he’ll spend the rest of his life with. Oriana disagrees, Teresa chose him and in him she found all the qualities she was looking for in one package: social standing, wealth, and if that weren’t enough, an extraordinary boost (impulso extraordinario) to her insipiente (ignorant) legal career. (Boy, Oriana, tell us how you REALLY feel.) She tells him to think carefully about what she’s said and he’ll realize he was the perfect solution to Teresa’s carencias (deficiencies).

Upstairs, Lucia tells Luisa she was on the brink of quitting because of Teresa. On top of that, Oriana started asking her about her feelings toward Arturo. Luisa tells her not to pay attention to all that, she loves her job and shouldn’t quit. Besides, Arturo needs her. Lucia admits something was telling her not to quit. Luisa suggests she ignore Oriana’s rants about Teresa. She’ll soon see Teresa as a friend. HA!

CASA CACERES: Aiiiiiida’s invited Oriana for a visit. Oriana hopes it isn’t to discuss her efforts to recapture Mariano. He wasn’t right for her just as Teresa isn’t right for Arturo. The perfect couple in her view would be Lucia and Arturo because she’s of the right social standing. They played a round of golf today and he seemed so happy afterward. She doesn’t understand why Arturo stubbornly insists on keeping Teresa as his wife. Aida hopes he’ll someday rid himself of that rrrrrrrrrrata. She lets on that Teresa is in Zacatecas, something Oriana didn’t know! Oriana does a double take: wha-what?!

CASA FERNANDO: Lucia, Luisa, and Arturo talk wedding stuff over coffee. Lucia shares her views on love and marriage, neither of which she’s interested in now due to a recent disaster of a relationship.

CASA CACERES: Oriana tells Aida that Fernando is also in Zacatecas on business --- yeah monkey business ---. She’s sure Teresa found out and that’s why she’s there. Aida mentions Juana’s wedding and assumed she went with Arturo. Oriana clarifies that Arturo didn’t go. Aida can’t believe that rrrrrrrata fixed it so she could go alone. Oriana worries that Fernando is over there while Luisa the Vulnerable is here. Aida is sure Teresa’s in the big Z to go after Mariano again. Oriana’s surprised to hear he’s there also. Aiida’s convinced Teresa’s after him again. Oriana only hopes Teresa isn’t able to get anywhere with either man.

THE BIG Z: Fernando runs after the Strolling Strumpet that is Teresa. He must speak to her. “There’s nothing left to say,” she says. “When you end it with Luisa, then I’ll divorce Arturo. You’re now the one who has our future in your hands.” Who should walk by then, but our head scratching Johnny-on-the-spot! Of course! He’s the one who saw them outside Fernando’s door way back when. Fernando agrees to break his engagement, but first they must be together. She resists and tells him to please go and keep his promise. He responds by kissing her as Johnny looks on. Teresa breaks away saying they’ll talk later. Again, Fernando is left panting.

CASA LEDESMA: Poor little Rodriguito is finally home with momma. Doorbell rings – it’s not the landshark but a Barracuda by the name of Ruben! Dun-dun-DUN!

CASA GENOVENOM: Fito el Maldito tells Geno he was right outside the Ledesma’s home when she called. She’s glad he knows where her baby is living. She wants her baby and wants him now. Fito explains that Ruben had told him to hold off. She reminds him it’s her money and she wants the baby now, understood? He responds, “el que paga, manda, Chula.” Ooooh, so sleazy.

CASA LEDESMA: Espe tells Ruben to scram. The judge’s orders only allowed him to visit while the baby was hospitalized. She starts to close the door on him and he forces it open asking her if she’s afraid to be so near him. She tells him he disgusts (asco) her. LARGATE! He shoves her into the room and wonders if she’s worried about having problems with her husband. He bets that within a very short time he’ll recover her and their son. Their son is what will unite them forever. He jokes about this being the other side of the coin. She’s now married and can have him as her lover and she’ll realize the one she truly loves is her lover. He rushes in and gets her in a bear hug and she struggles against him. Eeeeeew, he’s so disgusting! He tells her not to be so proud and admit that she loves him. She scratches his hand as she breaks free and shouts for him to leave or she’s calling the police. As he leaves he tells her she’ll change her mind, “mi amor.” He blows her a kiss as she slams the door.

CASA CHAVEZ: Refugio is praying to Virgen de Guadalupe that Armando gets that job. He walks in just then to announce he’s got the job as a mechanic’s assistant.

CASA FERNANDO: Arturo’s on the phone with Teresa, telling her he won’t be able to make it to the Big Z. He reminds her he’s home earning the bacon so they can get ahead. Oriana comes in and they chat about last night. He tells her they decided to stay in for dinner and Lucia made a delicious pasta (oh, she can cook, too!) She tells him Fernando is also in Zacatecas, which is news to him. She wonders if Teresa and Fernando have seen each other there. He tells her he just spoke with Teresa and she didn’t mention it but he’ll ask her later. Oriana’s been trying to contact Fernando but apparently, his cell is turned off. Arturo hopes they run into each other (ha!) and that Fernando is able to accompany her to Juana’s wedding so she won’t have to go alone. Oriana figures he says that so there won’t be an issue with Mariano, who is also in the Big Z. This is news to him.

BIG Z CANTINA: Mariano’s sitting at the bar as Johnny comes running in telling him he got lost. Mariano assumes that’s why he’s so nervous. After he slams back a drink, Johnny spills it about seeing Teresa with Fernando. He’s sure there is something going on between those two. Oh, oh, oh, this is getting good!

CASA FERNANDO: Luisa has joined Oriana and Arturo in the den. She hasn’t been able to get in touch with Fernando either. If she’s able to contact him, Arturo would like to ask him to find Teresa. Oriana thinks Fernando will be too busy with business to see Teresa. Luisa tells him not to worry about Mariano. It makes sense for him to be there since he’s such good friends with Cutberto. Now Lucia arrives. Oriana and Luisa leave and Lucia asks what’s wrong. Arturo explains his dilemma. Teresa is in Zacatecas, as is his archrival but he has too much work to leave and go after her. She offers to work all night so he can make it to the wedding in the morning. That won’t work but he thanks her for the offer. He can’t stand the thought of his wife being near that infeliz. Lucia suggests he calm down and think of how much his wife loves him. Surely if she loves him she’ll reject any man that comes near her. He must trust his wife. That’s imperative in any relationship.

CASA GENOVENOM: Ruben is pacing as Geno walks in. She immediately notices the scratches on his hand and knows they were made by a woman! He admits it was Espe. He merely went to visit his son at her house and this is how she reacted. Geno ain’t buying that story. She accuses him of trying to relive old times and Esperanza scratched him in self-defense.

CASA FERNANDO: Arturo is clearly downtrodden and Lucia notices the difference in his mood from last night when he was so happy as in her sketch. She tells him she prefers the “Arturo” in the sketch. Aw, that draws a smile from my handsome hunkasaurus. *sigh*

CASA GENOVENOM: Ruben can’t believe Geno would think he’d want to go near Espe. He only went there to see his son, “their” son. Espe scratched when Ruben tried to pick up his son. That’s the truth! Geno doesn’t believe him – she knows him. He pleads with her not to be jealous. If he didn’t want to be here with her he’d leave. She knows too well how much he desires her. Geno admits this but she also knows how much he desires money and las jovencitas. “Listen very carefully because I’m only going to say this once,” she says. “If you betray me, I’ll kill you.”

THE BIG Z: Mariano catches up to Teresa in a lobby, telling her he needs to talk to her. She wrongly assumes that the fling with Aurora was temporary. She knew he couldn’t live without her. Wrong, Sharkface! Aurora is very important to him because that is true love. She scoffs at this. He tells her he’s only there to ask her to behave and not do anything to ruin the Cutberto/Juana wedding. She assumes he’s referring to her disapproval of the Mariachi/Seamstress match. Wrong again Sharkface! He spills it that he’s aware of her fling with Luisa’s BF. Sharkita is stunned!

CASA FERNANDO: Arturo is tells Lucia he’d very much like a portrait of Teresa. Esperanza arrives carrying the baby. After Lucia leaves, she tells him of Ruben’s craziness. Arturo confirms the judge’s order doesn’t give Ruben the right to see Rodriguito outside the hospital. Esperanza fills him in on Ruben’s aim to continue to come after the baby and also after her. He wants her back and she’s very confused. She doesn’t know what to do to keep him away from her. She doesn’t want Hernan to know about the visit because he’s so jealous. Oh, it was horrible, she tells him. She tells him about scratching Ruben as he tried to kiss her.

THE BIG Z: Oh, silly Mariano. Tere assures him he’s been misinformed. It’s true Fernando is here, but it’s only because of business. He did call on her to advise him (guess that’s what they call it in Zacatecas) but that’s all. Mariano assures her he could care less about her goings on. He’s only concerned Juana may find out and it will ruin her big day. He doesn’t believe her when she tells him she only spoke with Fernando about business. He repeats what he’s told her before. Don’t treat Arturo as she treated him. Arturo loves her, she shouldn’t deceive him. He thought she’d fallen in love with Arturo but sadly, he sees she’s incapable of love. He walks away from her as she sheds a tear. Waah, waah, poor sharkita.

CASA FERNANDO: Arturo and Lucia are working late into the night. We learn that Arturo went to the police station with Esperanza. He gets a call from Teresa but we only hear his side of the conversation. He tells her he’s learned Mariano is there. He tells her that even though Aurora is there he’s still worried. He wonders if she knew Fernando is also there and maybe he can come with her to the wedding. Before he hangs up, he asks her to be careful. Lucia has fixed him a cup of coffee and they talk about jealousy and love. Her ex was very jealous and it was pure hell. She tells him no woman can bear that kind of life.

CASA LEDESMA: Espe is waiting up for Hernan and tells him about Ruben’s visit and that she’s reported it to the police. She hopes this shows Hernan how much she loves him.

THE BIG Z: Fernando can’t understand why Teresa wants him to return to D.F. She explains she doesn’t want to do anything they’ll regret. She promises she’ll see him as soon as she returns. They share a hungry kiss, but she still rolls her eyes.

MEANWHILE BACK IN D.F., Arturo and Lucia have worked the whole night through. They have just enough time to shower and change to be ready for their meeting with the Germans. He holds her hands as he thanks her profusely and says he appreciates all her help. She stammers as she steps away to go upstairs. Methinks she’s been struck by the luuuurve bug!

JUANA/CUTBERTO’S BIG DAY: Inside the church, Aurora is fussing with Cutberto’s charro suit as Teresa gives them the evil eye. Goofberto’s tio introduces her to Goofy’s grandparents. Mariano walks Juana down the aisle and Goofy continues to act his doofus self as Teresa shakes her head in disgust. He acts the buffoon through the entire ceremony which is mercifully cut short for us Juana/Hector fans. The bride and groom kiss and Mariano steals a kiss from Aurora (shocking! Kissing in church?). Anyway, this is not lost on Teresa who is furious.

CASA BARRERA: Lucia is nervously getting ready in Luisa’s room for their meeting with the Germans.

RESTAURANT: Oriana and Fernando are lunching. Apparently, Oriana met his plane on the tarmac and he’s pissed that she was there. She explains that since he claimed he had an urgent business matter she wants an explanation. She wants to see if she can help. He’s offended, saying his father left the businesses to him and he’ll decide how to run them. She reminds him that she and her husband jointly built that fortune. Besides, they’ve always made business decisions together. She demands to know why he has such a curt attitude. He apologizes but says she at times makes him feel like a child, incapable of making decisions. She asks if he saw Teresa in Zacatecas. He admits he did but she was too busy with Juana’s wedding preparations to see him. She’s glad he didn’t spend much time with her and advises him to keep his distance from Teresa. Arturo is a very jealous man and she’d hate for them to have problems. She reminds him of that old saying: El hombre es fuego, la mujer estoga (coarse cloth), Llega el Diablo y sopla. (basically: man is fire, woman kindling, the devil arrives and fans the flames). But clearly, Odiana says, that’s not so in his case, especially now that he’s only a few days from his wedding. Fernando looks guilty as sin and then excuses himself. That Oriana is a smart old broad, she knows what’s going on.

Arturo and Lucia arrive at the restaurant. While waiting for a table, we learn the meeting with the Germans was a huge success. They congratulate each other for their work and then hug. Of course, Fernando sees them hug. Ack! Arturo explains their success. Fernando responds coldly that he sees they’re celebrating. They chitchat about Zacatecas and Fernando excuses himself to go see Luisa and grumbles about being detained by his mother. Lucia notices Fernando’s attitude and Arturo hopes the trip to Zacatecas didn’t cause problems.

THE BIG Z: Quick peek – everyone stands outside congratulating the happy couple.

CASA FERNANDO: Fer arrives home and has a flashback of Teresa promising to divorce Arturo once he breaks off with Luisa. Luisa comes to him, happy to see him and he tells her, “we need to talk.” Eeeek!

THE BIG Z: More celebrating. Juana is wearing a beautiful regional dress. Love it! I’d love to go to a wedding like that.

CASA FERNANDO: Fernando starts by telling her everything is almost ready. She talks of her dress and begins to cry because she’s so happy to see him and how they’re finally going to be married. He wonders why she’s crying. She tells him she missed more than she thought she would and she’s happy to see he obviously missed her too because he returned early. They hug and he has a very worried, guilty, look on his face. What a skunk – he needs to man up.

THE BIG Z: As everyone celebrates, Aurora shares messages sent from Hector warning Cutberto to take care of Juana and wishing Juana every happiness. Everyone’s happily dancing, etc. Everyone but Teresa, that is, who stands by and sheds a tear.

CASA GENOVENOM: Geno has asked Fito if he noticed her “husband” there. (her husband? I don’t recall her calling him that before! CARAAAAAAZY CHICA) Anyway, Fito didn’t see him there. Geno asks him to notify her immediately if Ruben ever appears at Esperanza’s home. Of course, she realizes this will cost more money. It just never seems to be enough. He accepts that but also warns her that if they cross him, things will get really ugly.

THE BIG Z: To the sounds of “Corrida de Zacatecas” the celebration continues and Teresa continues her brooding.

CASA LEDESMA: Hernan and Esperanza share some time together, he promising that he won’t let Ruben ruin their relationship.

THE BIG Z: Back at the celebration, Teresa warns Cutberto he better treat her madrina right because there’s always divorce. Aurora interrupts her and says that won’t be necessary because Juana truly loves him and proved it by giving up Hector. Juana agrees Love is the most important thing. Cutberto picks up a very reluctant Teresa in a bear hug. They raise their jarritas-on-a-rope in a toast and the celebration continues.

D.F.: It’s evening now and Espe drives up to her house with Rodriguito but before she can open the garage door, two gunmen (one is Fito) approach and demand she get out. She complies but before she can get the baby, she is thrown from the car and they take off, baby and all! No Puede Ser!

**I will be in Vegas next Fri, 9/16 and I need someone to take my Friday recap, please! I can trade for Monday or Wednesday if necessary.

So excited, going to Luis Miguel's concert at Caeser's!

I'm going to Mexico to make my fortune. I am going door-to-door selling those little peepholes because in Mexico, they apparently don't exist. i will start with the Ledesma household.

Thanks, Paquita. I love your recaps and your sense of humor..."Oriana tells Aida that Fernando is also in Zacatecas on business---yeah, monkey business." Ha, ha,ha. Have a great time in Vegas and blow a kiss to Luis for me...lucky you!

Things are really becoming tense. Teresa ended up alone at Juana's wedding surrounded by all those happy couples...foreshadowing maybe.

GinCA

This is a great recap. One laugh after another, and another...thanks mucho.

"Fernando is also in Zacatecas on business --- yeah monkey business ----"Very clever.

"Wrong, Sharkface!...Wrong again, Sharkface!" Ha, very funny. I so enjoy watching Mariano stick pins in Sharkie's inflated smugness.

Oddly, you only devoted one sentence to Lucia's dressing scene...somehow I suspect that would have gotten a lot more attention from Sharkbyte ;).

That wedding looked super fun. You can take your snooty sophistication and shove it, Sharkita; I'd rather hang with the people who know how to have a good time.

GinCA, do you want to team up with me on a business venture? I already decided during Llena de Amor to start a locksmith business in Mexico/Telenovelalandia. We even have an ad campaign already (produced by the utterly skill-less Ruiz y de Teresa agency, of course. It's awful).

I can recap next Friday's show, but probably wouldn't post until Saturday...probably going to see Pitbull Friday night. Unless someone else is dying to do it, which is also fine with me.

Paquita - I loved your recap, it was great as usual. I LOL at your "Tio-Butts" nickname. Hilarious!

Julia is right - it's a good thing Paquita recapped this episode. If I had done it, the entire thing would have been about Lucia prancing around in that purple bra. I would have forgotten that anything else happened!

Thanks for taking the Friday recap Julia, I can't wait to read your spin on things.

I can't believe Geno actually went through with ordering the kidnapping - she's criminally evil/insane. She belongs in prison or a straight-jacket; maybe both.

Maybe someone can answer this: are those little cups people wore around their necks at the wedding for Tequila? Is it a common practice? I've just never seen it before; seems like a good idea.

I've been meaning to comment that in the last few episodes, Aurora seems more beautiful than ever; I don't know how that's even possible because she was already smokin' hot. Maybe she did something with her hair? Sigh...

Thanks Paquita and have fun in Vegas!

Julia- I have missed your witty recaps, so I look foward to next week. And have fun at the Pitbull concert. I'm jealous.

Found this on a site about Zacatecas traditions:
Zacatecan Alley Parade- Zacatecan Tamborazo is a musical parade that takes place at night through the streets and alleys of the city’s downtown, people gather around the band, that begins the night party with melodies of the region. They give all the participants a little jar that has a string attached to one’s “ear”, and on each “break” the staff of the band gives away mine’s mezcal (alcoholic drink similar to tequila).

That looked like a really fun wedding, and even though Teresa tried to pout the whole way through, I saw some cracks in her facade when she saw how happy Juana is and how much fun the wedding was. She let a few small sad smile break free.

Fernando is projecting his own desire to cheat on Luisa with Teresa onto Atruro and Lucia. I'm sure it helps him justify his actions if he convinces himself that Art is cheating on Teresa. Shmuck! But he can't find anything to justify cheating on sweet Luisa who loves him so much.

Glad that Espe and Hernan are back on track because they will need it now. The good thing is that now there is a recent picture of baby Rodrigo AND a photo of Geno's supposed baby.

OK, so Geno threatened to kill Ruben, and Fito threatend to kill Geno. Works for me! Get to work people.

Thanks so much, everybody -- great recap by Paquita and hilarious comments from everyone so far. A lock-and-peephole business! You'd make a fortune! Also, several of these wayward parejas need to be microchipped. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY.

I just loved the post-wedding parade. Couldn't stop smiling through the whole thing.

And I learned a great new word: aranar = to scratch (presumably related to arana = spider.) BTW, I think Oriana meant to refer to T's "incipiente" career (beginning, burgeoning) and not her "insipiente" career (ignorant) -- although with Oriana, it's hard to tell.

Vivi - thanks for the cool info on Zacatecas traditions! You are so awesome and always helpful. If I were there in DC I'd give you some Mezcal in a little jar right now! :^)

That wedding did look fun, although if I were there, I'd be a smart-ass and ask the band if they knew any Lynard Skynard or Metallica. Not that I'm into that stuff, it would just be funny to hear them trying to play "Freebird" on trumpets and a couple of trombones! Hahaha...

I'd also be hitting on Aurora, Patty, and Teresa, you know, cause that's how I roll.

:^)

The exodus of Teresa's loved ones has begun:

MARIANO wants nothing more to do with her and now sees how she's playing Arturo with Fernando just like she played him with Arturo*/**/***. Mariano's finished as far as Teresa's concerned.

AURORA put distance b/w her & Teresa when Oriana found out she & Teresa wee friends by telling Oriana they were "just school friends." But learning that Teresa's been circling Fernando & seeing her pop up in Cuernavaca trying to prevent Mariano from talking to her IMO was the last straw. Aurora put it all on the table & let Teresa know their "friendship" is OVAH.

People about to join the Exodus Train:

LUISA, who defended Teresa so much, will be quadrupled crushed:

a) Fernando leaving her for Teresa
b) Teresa, her beloved sister in law and friend, stabbing her in the back
c) Arturo, her beloved brother, will be crushed
d) she will know that Oriana was right about Teresa the entire time.

ARTURO, for obvious reasons

ESPERANZA looks like she's beginning to get fed up with Teresa's arribista suggestions

JUANA, REFUGIO & ARMANDO will probably stay on the Teresa train even after the Fernando stuff comes out.

All Teresa will have left is her dinero and a bunch of people mad at her. Good luck with that.

*Mariano knows that Teresa never loved him OR Arturo if she's playing with Fernando know. Arturo's now broke and Teresa's got her eye on Fernando's wallet, just like she had her eye on Arturo's wallet when she was with broke Mariano.

**Did Mariano ever know that Teresa was with him and Paolo at the same time?

***I wonder if Mariano & Arturo will have another scene together, two victims of Teresa's "love?"

Julia - thank you amiga for picking up Friday! I'll be celebrating El Grito in Vegas with Luis *sigh*

Thankk you Blue Lass for the clarification on incipiente/insipiente. I agree that Oriana could have meant it either way, the snob!

I've been to fiestas where they had the little jug on a string. I didn't realize it's done that often. I just thought the organizers were being so creative. Loved it though and so convenient!

One thing I forgot to mention is I can't believe the downward spiral of Fernando.

Everything was going well for him - then along comes Teresa.

Now he's cheating on a wonderful woman, his best friend's sister, whom he's about to marry, with his best friend's wife - UNBELIEVABLE.

I think he will eventually realize the magnitude of what he is doing and come to his senses. There's no way he is going to dump Luisa for Teresa. He can't be that stupid.

Also, Mariano and Aurora seem too happy together. I can't remember who said this, but they said in telenovelas, if the couple seems too happy, then usually something goes awry.

Since we are in the home stretch of episodes, maybe they will be fine, but I can't help but think something will go wrong.

Juana looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. IMO more beautiful than Teresa at her own wedding. The Cathedral of Zacatecas is something else. Wow! Cynthia Klitbo said in an interview that if she ever gets married it will be right there. I agree.

La callejoneada with el mezcal y el tamborazo was very nice. Teresa's tears during the "beso, beso" scene were very interesting. She's actually jealous of Juana's happiness- something she didn't have at her wedding and doesn't have now.

I feel so sorry for poor, sweet, naive Luisa... How much lower can Fernando sink? Please, someone just shoot him already!

The kidnapping of baby Rodrigo seems to be near... That Ruben has turned out to be a lot worse than I initially thought. Kidnap his own child? WHACALA!

Loved the recap as always Frances. I too thought Teresa being all alone could be some foreshadowing of possibly her future once her shenanigans with Fernando comes to light. I was glad that Mariano told Teresa that she's incapable of love.

I also think that Lucia has fallen for Arturo.

Oriana knows something is up with Fernando and that it involves Teresa some kind of way.

That final scene of the babynapping was scary. I hope this doesn't drag out too long.

Paquita, that was a perfect recap. Just the right amount of detail, and culture thrown in.
Lisa, ITA that Juana looked so beautiful at her wedding.
And Tere's tears at the wedding, the first signs of real emotion, yes, she was actually jealous of Juana. And that little interplay between Tere and Coopberto during the wedding when he hugged her, she got mad and then relented and smiled-that is probably the real Teresa (if that is possible in this story) behind her pride, scheming ways and defenses. I wonder if they'll redeem her in the end.

Yeah, ITA Sharkbyte, something will go wrong with Aurora and Mariano if only for a second, sometimes it is even some weird incident during their wedding.

GinCA-ROTFL about the need for door peepholes! What is that about? Even one of those chains would have helped keep Rube out.

Friday night party! I'm with all - the wedding looked fun. Juana was beautiful, Buttberto was an idiot, but it's not like Juana doesn't know that, so hey, good times. Love your recap catching all the fun stuff we had for a change...along with the resident nut-jobs.

"OK, so Geno threatened to kill Ruben, and Fito threatend to kill Geno. Works for me! Get to work people" Oh man, from your mouth to the writer's fingers. That would suit me fine. I'm with Sharkbyte - that woman needs a strait-jacket.

I really do think Fer is going to be stupid enough to break it off with Louisa. Why he doesn't question why he has to do his break-up before she'll do anything shows how dim the bulb is where Teresa is concerned. I think she's trying the same ruse she tried for Mariano...hook up with some rich temporarily and then the guy who you think really loves you will take you back. I think in her warped way of thinking she is doing this for her and Arturo, but it is so going to backfire.

Anon, loved your breakdown on all the people who already have, or soon will, walk away from our little Terror. I think her solo status at the wedding and how it affected her was a foretelling.

I'm thinking positive and hoping that Maurora are a done deal but will have to go thru the pain of some heartache that their friends and family are going thru (Espe, etc.)The only one who could still be a pain will be AAAAeeeeddddaa, and hopefully those two know her game already.

Have fun at all your concerts! So jealous!

Frances wonderful recap! The wedding was fantastic, I always love when they use traditions in novelas. It reminds me of all the different ways people celebrate here. Maybe one day they'll use the Oaxacan weddings that last nine days since they seem to be making novelas longer and longer each year and that would totally serve the plot.

I think Teresa was definitely happy and envious of her godmother's happiness but she never lets those feelings in. Again, she shuts down her feelings because she believes they are a block to success. She is a stubborn one for sure.

I think the hair and make up department have changed Ana Brenda's hair and make up to fit this new phase of her character. They are always obvious with her: when she was acting like a little girl with her mom they dressed her as a little girl, now that she is becoming a more assertive woman she is dressing more confidently.

One little thing Frances, Oriana said Teresa was using Arturo for her "incipiente" legal career. That means "budding": her budding legal career.

But you are right, the word "insipiente" does mean "ignorant". "Incipiente" and "insipiente" are two different words that sound the same and the only difference is the use of C and S.

I know, that's my language being difficult but we had to take revenge on English at some point for being so misleading in its pronunciation sometimes.

Frances, your recaps are like a running commentary on a fabulous party that I wasn’t invited to, a funny blow by blow description of all the happenings with an insider’s twist: “don’t look now momma el mujeriego is baaaaack” “Who should walk by then, but our head scratching Johnny-on-the-spot” “Ooooh, so sleazy.” “Oh, oh, oh, this is getting good!” Thanks so much and have a great time at the concert. You MUST give us a report.

Like many of you, I thought Juana looked beautiful in her tiered bridal dress. Juana understands Cutberto and is going into the marriage with her eyes wide open, she will be the major bread winner, so...... sometimes it is done that way nowadays. I think Cutberto has earned our respect in one way, he might look a little, but I don’t think he’ll touch, he really loves Juana. Will we have a “miracle” pregnancy or a quick adoption? Let’s hope so.

The wedding was so filled with beauty, tradition and love, even our little sharkita flashed a smile at the end. Angelique has stayed in character so strongly that I imagine that her smile was part of the script and indicated an acceptance of Juana’s decision.....hope so anyway.

“No good dead goes unpunished,” I’m afraid that Hector will be living this saying for the rest of his life, that is if Ruben continues to live and torment Espe. Maybe Geno meant her death threat, having Ruben out of the picture would simplify things for Rodrigo and everyone in Mexico City, DF, for that matter. It would be two birds with one shot, him gone and her in el carcel for the rest of her life!

I think the only way Hernan/Rodrigo/Espe will have any peace is with Ruben either in carcel for life or dead. I'm getting kind of tired of him manhandling Espe all the time (I think she's the only female character he does this to), and it's time for him to stop.

Ok, for some reason I started looking through clips form past teen novelas last night when I couldn't sleep.

So, if you want to take a look at the past of some of our actors (before they graduated to adult roles), check out these links:

Angelique Boyer in Rebelde

Sebastián Rulli in
Primer Amor: A Mil Por Hora.

Luis Fernando Peña (Johnny), then Aarón Díaz in the next scene with a glimpse at Juan Carlos Colombo (Armando)in Clase 406.

Jarocha

Sorry for the bad ortograph, I forgot to proofread my comment.

Jarocha

Oh, and that last link didn't work as I had planned it. You can see Aarón Díaz at the begining but Luis Fernando Peña is at minute 1:40 and the next scene is Aarón again and that's where you get to see Juan Carlos Colombo.

The real Teresa? Is there such a thing? Oh I don't know... After all she's done (and not done yet) it's hard for me to believe there's actually anything good left in her.

As for who the bread winner will be, it seems to me that both Juana and Cutberto have equally "humble" jobs, I don't think any of the two makes much more money than the other. But since what they want is just to be together I think they will be fine. I wouldn't want a miracle pregnancy (let's keep things realistic) but an adoption would be nice. The problem is adoptions are not quick but a rather complicated process.

Julia, I missed Llena which looked like a lot of fun. Were the doors peepholeless, as well, or did they suffer from the deficient door syndrome? It seems the door is never fully closed when someone is exposing a secret which the villain conveniently hears. Of course, our business profits would drop if the people actually attempted to close the door before baring their souls.

GinCA

I don't think most houses have peepholes over here but apartmends tend to have them. At least the more modern ones.

Jarocha

GinaCA- In Llena, in the main boarding house, where there was a murder and many attempted murders and harassment incidents from the bad guys, and where two cops lived, they NEVER locked the doors and the bad guys came and went as they pleased.

TN doors never have peepholes. It's like a fun (or not so fun) guessing game each time. What's behind mystery door number 1?! And of course there's that door ajar problem when people listen in on big secrets. It all propels the drama. :)

Wow Jarocha. This peephole business of ours reall COULD take off in Mexico then. :)

Fernando was destined to panic over getting married anyway. Giving in to Teresa gives him an excuse to bolt.

Great recap Paquita!!!!

Paquita!!! A non-stop recap that was thoroughly enjoyed by all! SUPER!!!

You are going to love Luis Miguel! I was fortunate to have heard him in June and was on cloud 9! It will be wonderful fun!!!

In some ways, this TN is getting harder for me to watch. I think it is always interesting (to me, at least) as to how some of these TN make me feel. I fully realise that this is pure fantasy, but the anxiety I feel at what is coming is almost approaching dread.

I've never had a TN make me feel this way, so this is truly a first for me.

I am strongly considering just reading our wonderful recaps from here on out as things are coming to a head.

Agree, Juana looked simply lovely at her wedding. At times, Teresa almost seemed lost in the crowd as, for once, it was not about her!

Absolutely loved Mariano telling it to her directly and rather matter of factly. She had to listen, didn't she and he made his point loud and clear.

I'm not so worried about Mariano and Aurora...they will come through this just fine, but that advance scene where Fer is telling Luisa that the wedding should be called off was very upsetting.

Once that domino falls, it will be interesting to see how quickly things will deteriorate.

I think it must take Teresa a lot of mental energy to continue as she is doing. Perhaps in her own brain, she thinks she is doing this for Arturo, but that seems almost unbelievable at this point.

La Odiosa will step in and she won't step in as a lightweight, she will use all of the force she has to either save her son or destroy both Teresa and Fer.

If she has been so willing to do what she has done to Arturo, who is to say she wouldn't do it to her own son.

She made a point of telling Fer that she and her husband worked very hard together to provide this incredible inheritance for him. Fer will soon find out that La Odiosa is 'she who must be obeyed'.

Even more upsetting was seeing Geno's ugly face ordering Maldito Fito to steal Espe's baby. Geno has clearly gone crackers. Rubigote thinks he has these women playing out of his hand, but I hope he is dead (literally) wrong.

The full impact of what Geno and Rubigote have done; are doing, and will do, will impact Aida in a negative way. She is an immature, needy whiner who is also on a downward spiral.

Juana's wedding was a welcome relief from the tension on this TN that never seems to end!!!

Thank you again, dear Paquita! Simply super!

Susanita

Don't think Juana and Bufberto need to adopt, he's a big kid himself, and Juana has Tere, Aurora, Luisa, Patty, Johnny, Mariano, all are her kids. It's enough, really.

I suspect there are several foreshadowing items in this episode; we may see murder yet.

Luisa can do better than Fernando. She can find a guy she can better trust and one who doesn't have a Mother From Hell.

Maybe Cutberto will win the lottery. But he was a doofus at his own wedding, which I wanted to brain him for.

It's too bad Teresa knows that she and Fernando were spotted; I was hoping this could get back to Arturo or Oriana before she could think of anything to weasel out of it.

Frances thanks for your great recap. Enjoy your time at the Luis Miguel concert. And thanks Julia for volunteering for next week. I've missed your recaps and am looking forward to them.

Yeah Sharkbyte I'm glad you agree that Aurora, a beautiful woman is even more beautiful now. It seems being love agrees with her.

Susanita ITA that this TN is getting stressful. I am dreading seeing Art and Luisa get messed over.

Vivi: I live in a boarding house for students, we don't have a peephole but we do have a gate and the front door is inside to make it safe. It is a rule of the house to have those two locked at all times, even if you only go to the grocery store that's just crossing the street.

Jarocha

I don't think Teresa knows what real happiness is. Or if she ever knew, she forgot.

She's not wrong about one thing: Showing emotion at work is not good for your career. It's just hard to turn that off on your own time.

The kidnapping of Rodriguito was scary as all hell and I agree; I hope this storyline doesn't last too long. There are only 17 hours left (I suspect there will be a weekend or Monday finale of 2 hours).

OMG if they do a 2-hour finale on October 3rd, I may have to cancel my business trip. What if my hotel doesn't get Uni???

Paquita: Another terrific time reading your stuff. Thanks!

Julia: Thanks for helping us out. I am looking forward to your special brand of snark!

Thanks for the clips Jarocha. It was fun seeing a younger version of all these stars. I didn't think Ter was actually that pretty, I thought she was all make up and hair but she did look pretty in her younger scenes with a lot less hair.

Those who are starting the Mexican "peephole" business need to think of a better name, perhaps....Security Eyeholes, Inc. Peephole might bring in the wrong clientele! (Ha!)

LOL Sandy! You have a point.

Jarocha- Great clips. I watched the entire clips and saw some other familar faces from current and recent tns- including Valentino L. in a scnee with SR. SR was so skinny back then! So was Aaron D. It's always great fun to see these actors when they were younger/greener.

i agree with those who mentioned the "real" teresa coming out at the end of the wedding scenes. i think we were seeing some regret for her losing the love of her life. but like ya'll said--she's all about powering through the emotions to execute the plan.
i have to say i am totally hating that odiana is 100% right. she has always distrusted teresa for all the wrong reasons, so it just rankles me--and they seem to be emphasizing it, what with her whispering in Luisa's ear and all. oy vey.
can't wait for the next week's developments!

and thanks for an excellent recap Paquita!

It occurred to me that one of the few things La Odiosa has said about Teresa really does ring true. La Odiosa actually acknowledged that Teresa was a smart woman who had worked hard, but instead of working harder, she chose to use the short cut to get the things she wanted.

Who would have thought that Oriana would have even granted that to Teresa? I was rather surprised, I must say.
