Yep, I've been holding out for a last minute conversion for Roberta. Her unabashed admiration for her evil mother's machinations tonight -- plus the foreshadowing "we'll be together forever" line has finally nailed it for me. She shall rot in hell with the devilfish who spawned her. No more doubt.

I too was fearing for the pregnant ladies as they chased Sául through the casino. I loved the bits where Nata spoke English. Those guards were sure helpful.

Thanks Marta for pointing out that the previews were for the whole rest of the series. I hope at least that they find Jero tonight. In the midsst of all she has been through Nata needs to get that worry off her mind.

I can't wait to see how Renata absorbs the news that Regina & Gonzalo just laid on her. That at least we know we will see tonight.

Thanks for such a rapid and thorough recap Marta -- and as usual you cleared up a lot of dialog which I missed.

Thanks for your recap Marta. What an episode! I do share your concern for Renata being bombarded with information and stressful situations. And then Augie trying to kidnap her...I hope that doesn't happen.

I hope Carlos and Laz will return Augie's laptop along with Anibal as we don't want potential body count numbers increasing here.

Gonzo may have been slow but I'm glad he now realizes he can't trust ANYTHING that comes out of Roberta's mouth. They are toying with her now but hopefully as more information comes out they will ostracize her.
 

I love how you add the verbatim dialog into your recaps! Also loved the "ghost of gamblings past". Brilliant holiday reference, but I don't think this Scrooge will get redeemed anytime soon.

My disgust moment of the night--that stupid smile on Berta's face when Gina left the room after Berta laid on the "I'm just like you" garbage. Just wanted the anvil to swing out and get her right in the kisser.

The action was not quite as lively as the night before, and they spent a little more time with the whole Saul thing then probably needed, but let him crawl thru airport vents and disapper, who cares...the five of them got what they needed. (Hey, I count the babies. They say they can hear from the womb--those kiddies are getting an earful.)

This better be the end of Prissypants--don't let the door hit you on the way out dear.

I was so frustrated about the fact that Sabina hadn't contacted Mati yet, but after the previews I feel better. If Nata wasn't preggers I would love to see her just give it to Auggie good so he realizes she would never be with him, but with her heart and the baby, I worry for her.

There has to be a fast-forward on this TN. Jero is in no condition to confront Auggie any time soon, and yet I still think we will see that before this is over. Plus if Marina doesn't start showing SOME KIND of bump, I'm going to blow. They must have cut the budget on pregnancy props on this TN.

I want a full on jumping up, crying, hugging, etc. reaction from Nata tonight. Will make my day.

I love the way Nata speaks English. Even though her accent is quite marked, she is easy to understand and speaks with confidence.

Augie chose el Guapo as his password? Really? What a self-centered jerk. Good job, Mati and Aníbal.

Loved the recap Marta. Thank you. I thought it was funny when Gonzo blocked Berta's hug before taking Gina away to vent.
 

Marta - as a relatively new-comer, I did not know English was not your first language. You write beautifully! No wonder you've been so helpful with those idiomatic expressions and vocab.

I agree with Carlos about how self centered must Augie be to choose El Guapo as his password. Maybe if I change my Blog Name to Rosemary la Bonita it will come true?

I also love SN's accent. She is just so dang cute saying "We just wants to talk to him".

Let's hope that Laz and Carlos reach Nata to warn her of Auggie, putting her on high-alert and foiling Fina's deadly plan.

Saul can't outrun 2 pregnant women in heels? What is it with these athletic women (Adri as the exception)?

I am so glad Gema will not dump on EM.

While reading the La Que No Podria Amar plot, I saw Maripaz Hernandez played by Tania Lizardo. Any relation to a jutting jaw we know?

rosemary, now you are making me blush.. i have to speak very well of catholic education in Puerto Rico in the 70s and 80s... and then came to US to college for 6 yrs, and lost my accent much more than my brother did.. (speaking)...
been doing forum dialogue translations and recaps for over 10 yrs for telenovela-world.com so been practicing quite a bit. (CS, Cafe, Betty la fea, and recaping quite a few others)

Guera, I had hope for Berta for a long time. But the combination of her glee at Fina's evil and the enjoyment she takes at "fooling" others make me think that this girl is a goner.

Karen I shudder at the thought of Augie trying to kidnap Nata. I did't catch that! Lizardo is playing Augustin at full tilt serial killer creepy. Ugh!

I sure did enjoy this episode. I, too, love to hear Nata speak English. Heck, she even ordered the security cops around in her excited state. She seems to have a pretty good command of the language.

Marta, your little editorial comments completely crack me up, like the one about Marina's slim figure. Too funny.

I really had to laugh out loud when Augustin's password was El Guapo. My lord but that man is full of himself! Rosemary la Bonita...LOL!!

Sorry Doctor Carlos, I'd love to smack that smirk off Berta's face too but I know someone will do it for me. I thought she looked prettier first thing in the morning without all that weird purple eye shadow.

EJ - My guess at Augie's kidnapping scheme is due to Marta's translation of the previews with him saying to Roberta, before they find me, Nata and I will be long gone. Since we know Nata will not go anywhere with Augie, especially now (unless she has brain freeze and thinks she can talk sense to him/let him have it alone), the only way that could happen (if it does as I'm hoping it does not) is abduction.

Carlos - I admire your penchant to hope for/enjoy attractive bad women but must join daisy and Sylvia in wanting to take that incredibly insincere smile off of Roberta's face muy pronto!
 

I hear you, Girls. I used to enjoy the opening sequence with Roberta smiling but now I vascilate from wanting to either wipe it from her face or jusr euthanize her to put her out of her misery. She angers me AND breaks my heart. She tells Fina that she is her favorite person? Pathetic.
 

Precision recap skills as always Marta, and I was amused by your noting of the anorexia doctor's pudginess...You're right, he's not likely to appeal to our weight-obsessed young lady...nor likely to hold her respect. But since this is a telenovela, I'm sure she'll be cured instantly...with one avuncular talk and a few more hugs from Kari and Anibal. Ah if only things were so easy in real life.

Carlos, I'm sure a lot of gentlemen were hoping for a further Alfonsina/Melesio scene last night. They sure picked the right actress to play that part. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you.
 

I think Roberta is the worst kind of villain. I'm more excited about seeing her downfall than anyone else's except Auggie.

I know Marina should be showing more, but I do think they're at least putting her in tops where she kinda looks pregnant.

CME has got to be pre-empted on of these nights or the ep count does not fit the Gran Final on Friday.

Not sure how Saul escaped so easily just by going into the vent...Renata and Marina couldn't have summoned some helpful airport security to nab him at the other end? There can't be too many ways out of an airport. I wonder if Renata still has his passport. Oh, well, they got the info they needed and I doubt Ughie's case is going to come to a legal trial...I predict a much more spectacular end for him.

Why is Sabine taking so long to alert the hacienda she has Jero? Think, woman. If you can't find their phone number, just call the police and tell them you have the guy. They'll sort it out.

That look on Prissy's face when Carlos walked away (finally!) suggested she doesn't plan to disappear so easily. Hmmm.
 

I read somewhere that Silvia Navarro was going to star in a new TN soon--playing twins. Does anyone have any info about this.

The funniest part last night was was when Sewerul said something about going back to Mexico - they were in the casino and it was so funny (to me anyway) the way he said it. So do you think there's any chance Sewerul will get stuck in the pipe?

Since Roberta is, hopefully, being kept in the dark and can't tell Ughustine anything
how is he going to get his first hand information now??

Oh Robey - I think I read that Silvia has played twins in one of her first novelas. I found this - can anyone translate what it says please.

Robey - I looked on my TV Listings I follow on Zap2It and they show Cuando every night next week with the Gran Finale noted for Friday night, then the last two hours repeated Saturday afternoon 3-5pm EST.
Anyone see anything different?

I've just started your recap and will finish in between a ton of household tasks I can finally get to during holiday brake. . .just wanted to say I am loving your crystal clear -- and hilarious -- review of last night's exciting expisode. Also, thanks for clarifying German and Berta's conversation after they got busted in the love next! This was a great episode which I couldn't really pay attention to bvecause of so much going on with my family so this recap is going to complete the treat! Thank you, Marta!

And here's more information I found re Silvia Navarro - including the one where she played a dual role - and some upcoming roles:

In her first starting role in a telenovela Perla, Silvia played a dual role of Julieta/Perla alongside Leonardo Garcia (1998).

Her next three roles, also for TV Azteca, were in the telenovelas Catalina y Sebastian (1999) and La Calle de Las Novias, and Cuando Seas Mia (2001). All three novelas also starred Sergio Basañez who played the lead male character in both Catalina Y Sebastian and Cuando Seas Mia. In La Calle de Las Novias, he was the lead antagonist to Juan Manuel Bernal, who played the lead and romantic interest of Silvia's character, Aura Sanchez. In 2002, Silvia started in the telenovela La Duda, alongside Omar Germenos.

Silvia did not return to the small screen until 2005, playing the lead role of Maria Claudia in the telenovela La heredera, again with Sergio Basañez.

In July 2008, Silvia signed a contract with Televisa and recently finished the soap opera Mañana es Para Siempre with Lucero and Fernando Colunga that finished up running on Univision.

She is set to begin filming Mujeres Asesinas in the spring of this year, which will premier in the fall of this year.
 

Thanks for the recap Marta. Actually, I loved hearing Nata and Marina speak English. It didn't sound bad to me, and I'll bet you didn't sound that bad in college either. I say that as a former teacher of English in Mexico.

I'm not worried about Nata's heart as a result of finding out that she is Gina's daughter. In fact, I think that will be mega-healing for her heart even if in the moment, it is overwhelming.

I'm so addicted to this novela, and like all the others I get that into, I know I'll be very sad when it's over.
 

All you Roberta-haters have to admit that is pretty when she smiles, even if she is smiling about being evil. That bit about her and Fina always being together doesn't bode well for her though. Maybe Roberta will be better at making friends in prison than Fina was.

Those pregnant women move fast, but it may have been made easier since unlike most casinos, that one wasn't covered in a haze of smoke. I hope they took Saul's suitcase with them. Good luck getting out of Vegas with nothing, buddy.

Augustin is going to have to kidnap Renata, but with a sword? This should be interesting.

Kelly, I was wondering about Saul stuck in the Vegas airport. I like the idea that he might become lodged in the air duct and they won't find his bones until years later. Or maybe he tries to exit and gets chopped up in a giant fan. But wait, we need him to testify against Ughie. If he gets out of the duct I think his only option will be to call Augustin for help. I don't think he knows what a homicidal maniac Ughie is; Ughie should be the LAST person Saul calls because we know what Ughie does to double-crossers.

The only actor confirmed so far is Sebastien Rulli.

Sylvia - I just checked on Amazon and the book is there - in English! I'm thinking about downloading it on my ipad - I have so many others to read - but it does sound so good! :)
 

Tonight would be ep 176, Friday-177, Mon-178, Tues-179, Wed-180, Thurs-181. Maybe there are 182 eps in this TN. 181 has been the most noted ep count.

Sounds like if SN does do CE's TN it won't be as twins, but as a dual role, if part of it takes place in modern and part in historical times.

I think Berta has an ugly smile. But maybe that's because I think Berta has an ugly soul.

I had to get the stainless steel mixing bowl TN beanie out last night for the casino chase scene. Two women, both pregnant, wearing high heels running and catching SSaul. (Thanks, Cheryl, that's still my favorite!)

Question: were SN and MJ speaking English because they can, or were they reading off poster boards? Please let it be the former. Does anyone else wonder why we gringos take foreign language in high school and college and then never use them?

SSaul escaping from the vent by the urinals - ugh. Renata was taking chance kneeling down there. Most airports do a pretty good job keeping the mens rooms reasonably tidy, but...

Emilia and I had a four hour layover at Las Vegas airport a few years ago. Dang nigh went insane w/ all the wretched SSauls jamming their last few bucks into the noisy electronic slots.

Fially got to read this wonderful recap--you were cracking me up all the way through. LOVE the precise translations of the dialogue--this does wonders for my language development and the enjoyment of the episode. I admire Renata's ability to speak a language that is not her own under such stressful circumstances. . .her accent was cute! I agree about Marina, I think she is getting smaller! I've heard of "carrying a baby in your hips" but dang!
