Cuando Me Enamoro #164 Friday 12/9/11 Another Bun in the Oven but the Baker's Gone Missing!

Amigos! It's only been a week but I've missed Caray like crazy. After one hellish week of final papers and final exams, I am ready to jump back into CME! Vámonos!

Matilde walks in to see Prissy planting one on Carlos. The police stop by the centro looking for Regina. A detective arrives at Constanza's house to arrest her for kidnapping "Amparo", who is actually Sandra Ortiz. Connie begs Petra the maid to call Honorio for help.

Hooray! Karina and Lazaro return from their honeymoon. Manuela gives the happy couple the good news that Nata and Jero are getting re-married that very day. Laz teases Mati that the wedding decorations ought to have been for her. Mati barely hides her tears and leaves the room before making a scene.

Carlos pleads with Prissy to not complicate matters between them. He loves Matilde and wants to marry her: punto y final. Prissy vows she will not give up that easily.

Matilde sobs in her bed and curses Carlos and his love. The only thing she's missing is a pint of Ben & Jerry's and a fluffy robe.

Ines calls Isidro to tell him that the centro has been closed by the police. They suspect the centro was complicit in a kidnapping. Isidro wastes no time in vowing to get a hold of both Regina and Jero for help.

Anibal looks on in concern as Augie sneaks into his office with a henchman.

Carlos asks Matilde why she has been so cold to him recently. Mati flatly says it's because she realized she made a mistake; she doesn't love him. She just really liked the idea of getting married. He was just there at the right time. Carlos caresses her cheek and closes in for a kiss but pulls away before making contact. Mati's icy exterior starts to crack.

Augie's henchman agrees to get the job done. Hmm.

The police drag Connie into jail while she pleads her innocence the whole way. She begs Ines to convince them she isn't guilty. A detective tells Ines and Isidro that Constanza is the lead suspect in the kidnapping of a baby girl who has been missing for two weeks.

Honorio, Matias, Adriana, Gonzo, Roberta, and Regina are warmly accepted at the hacienda. Nata regrets that Connie couldn't make it but she is thrilled to see everyone else. Honorio gets a cell phone call from the house and decides to "punish" Connie by not answering. Petra leaves a desperate voicemail about Connie's arrest. Yikes. It was probably for the best that Honorio didn't find out he had a daughter 'till she was 20. He's oddly apathetic (even hostile?) toward an abandoned infant.

Blanca calls Connie's house and pretends to be Corina. Petra spills her guts about Connie's arrest and the supposed kidnapping. Blanca hangs up and she and Fina high-five over a villainous plan gone right for once. (At least for the time being). The Doc interrupts to tell Blanca that it's her turn to pay for his services. Oh, puke.

Ines and Isidro wring their hands in the police station. They can't reach anyone by phone. Ines decides to call the centro lawyer for help.

Meanwhile at the hacienda, everyone is enjoying dinner and blissfully ignorant of the constantly vibrating cell phone in the other room. Matias surprises Adriana with a big, red box. She opens it and there's an adorable beagle puppy inside. Adriana finds a ring tied to a ribbon on the puppy's neck. Mat puts the ring on Adri's finger and they agree to marry in three months. Felicidades!

The dinner continues with everyone in good spirits besides a dour Roberta who excuses herself. Everyone is more than happy to let her go. A few moments later, everyone disperses to relax.

Renata loves her new wedding dress and is moved to tears by Regina's kindness. Regi gives Nata a hug and assures Nata that she's practically a daughter to her.

Saul calls Jero to inquire about Marina. He wants to reach an agreement and asks to meet with Jero to discuss Marina and the future of her twins.

Nata models her wedding dress for Regi and Adri but has a dizzy spell. She's thinking about calling a doctor since she's felt nauseous and dizzy recently. Regina suggests that Nata might be pregnant. Nata admits she has suspicions. Adriana wastes no time in offering to run to the drug store for a pregnancy test so Nata can know for sure. Nata is overjoyed at the idea of having a baby and Regina is thrilled for her. Nata and Jero are going to get re-married and have a child together.

Jero tells Carlos he has to run into the pueblo to meet Saul. He gives a different excuse to the rest of the guys about why he's taking off for a few hours. Gonzo calls Jero a good man and is proud to have him as part of the family. Jero appreciates Gonzo's approval.

Adriana tells Matias she needs a ride to the drug store for "cosas de mujeres / women things". Matias doesn't understand but agrees.

Roberta stops by Augie's place and smooches him. Anibal watches from the shadows. Berta criticizes Augie for not separating Nata and Jero yet. He has to stop the wedding. Augie assures Berta he has an idea that will prove to everyone what he is capable of.

Nata has a serious case of pre-wedding jitters and Regina does her best to talk Nata off the ledge. They sit on the bed and discuss Marina. Nata thinks she has finally come to terms with it all. Now that she's probably having a baby of her own, she feels a little better about things. Nata didn't even think she should ever have children because of Fina's bad genes.

Regina says all that matters is that Nata will be the best mother in the world for her child. Even if Nata isn't pregnant now, she and Jero will have a family of their own in time. They both deserve that happiness. Nata is going to make Regina the most indulgent abuela any kid ever had. Regi will protect and love Nata's children as if they were her own grandchildren.

Regina thinks it must be true that Nata is pregnant. Her eyes are shining in a very special way ("Tus ojos brillan de una manera muy especial"). They hug and Nata starts to cry anew over such a showing of love.

Padre Severino and Antonio wish Marina luck. Padre and Marina-of-the-now-covered-Tatas say their goodbyes. Padre prays for a miracle. Saul is no good for her and Padre is worried.

Back at the police station, Ines and Isidro visit Connie's cell. They still haven't been able to reach anyone at the hacienda. Connie cries and starts kicking herself for not listening to everyone when they tried to warn her about getting too close to Corina and Amparito. Ines and Isidro do their best to console her.

Isidro leaves a message with the Empresa secretary about Connie's arrest. Luckily for German, the phone is on speaker. He ruminates over the news.

Adriana runs into the drug store while Matias and Laz wait in the car. They happen to be across the street from where Jero is waiting for Saul. Then they see Marina show up too and Laz has to explain who she is to Matias. The cogs and sprockets start to turn in Matias's head as Adri returns and they drive away.

Berta does her best seduction routine but Augie turns her down cold. Anibal interrupts and asks Augie to help him tie his tie. Augie just takes the tie and tells Anibal not to wear one.

Adriana returns with the pregnancy test and Nata hurries into the bathroom to take it. Nata fakes Adriana and Regi out for a moment but reveals that it's true: she's pregnant!

Berta overhears the celebrating and asks what the fuss is about. The ladies claim to be cooing over the puppy and continue their squealing over the baby news after Berta leaves the room. Nata says she'll give Jero the good news after the wedding.

German turns up at the police station and greets Ines and Isidro. He brought his lawyer with him to help Connie's case. Two lawyers are better than one.

The hacienda patio is beautifully decorated as the guests assemble, each of them dressed their best. Everyone takes their places as Nata arrives. She looks both elegant and sexy in that white dress. Nata tells Laz to hurry off and find Jero since the ceremony is supposed to start soon.

Honorio admits to Adri how much he misses Connie. He wishes she were there but he's still bitter that the baby has taken priority over the rest of Connie's life.

Lazaro and Carlos scoured the hacienda and found no trace of Jero. Carlos calls Jero's cell and it goes straight to voicemail. Matias tells Nata about having seen Jero in town with Marina. And about the fact that Marina had a suitcase with her. Nata presses Laz as to why Jero would have been in town with Mari. No one has any answers for her.

Avances: Jero has disappeared, Berta rubs it in, and Nata angsts over it in her bedroom. Drat. Just when things were looking up, another anvil crushes everyone's happiness.

Blue Flowers Amy, thank you for getting this post up so quickly tonight. As busy as you are I am amazed and impressed that you still place your recap and your readers on such a high priority. Gracias!

Tonight had one of the saddest and most powerful scenes we have seen yet. There was Renata ecstatic over her pregnancy, sharing her glee with her best friend and step(so she thinks)mother, in walks her sister and they all clam up. The thought of not feeling able to share this news with one's own sister is tragic. Even more amazing is that all three collectively withheld the news from Roberta without communicating beforehand. Quite frankly the scene had me reeling.(Figuratively)

Jero, where in the heck are you??? Is there any excuse that could take you away from your own wedding?

Thanks Amy!!

Amy, Thank you for your rapid recap. I loved the Bun and Baker title. It signaled that we can laugh together at this heart wrenching disappointment in yet another wedding gone awry in this telenovela.

What a hoot, the anivils were flyng by and hitting some of our favorite people up side the head. Poor dumbo Constanza. She is way over dressed for being a jailbird but where did she grab that warm and appropriately covering red serape coat. A real change from her eternal pink.

Mati, Connie, and Regina could all use the Pear Robe right now. Roberta is just a slime dog. She is so deluded asking Augie if he wasn't thrilled to see her. She must be thinking he will screw up Jero and Renata's happiness then take off with her but he really has no interest in her other than to use her on several levels.

Anibal is the one I have the most hope for. He already has the letter proof of Augie's infamy but is collecting data like a good little detective sensing that Augie is a devil. He also loves Renata but because she is good to him and straight with him. I think he will be around to help her out when the disappearance of Jero starts to drive everyone to the wrong conclusions.

Prisspants is another no good snake. This TN is just plain hard on weddings. Thank god Laz and Kari are in the clear to be truly in love and supportive of each other. They are a great team now. As are Matias and Adri. I think German may be more of a help than Roberta would like him to be. He is a womanizer but not an evil guy. Just gutless and smarmy but he actually did something practical in suggesting the EM lawyers should be called in to confer with the Center's legal team. Hon will appreciate that.

That is just the cutest title ever Amy. Love it.

And agree with you about Honorio. If a real person were acting that way, I too would say "thank God he didn't find his daughter until she was grown up".

As it is, his intransigeance is a good plot device to ratchet up the tension and turmoil of this diabolical Fina strategy.

Laughed at your "ice cream and fuzzy robe" quip. A guy would drink; a gal would head for the ice cream or the fudge.

I hope the writers are not going to put Renata through a miscarriage during the disappearance of Jeronimo...and the suspicion of betrayal.

Ugh...just thinking about it makes me sick. Daisynjay...maybe it's for the best that you're away next week! When you come back, hopefully this will all be resolved.

Amy-

Congratulations on being done with exams and papers! We know you did well. And thank you for giving is a wonderful recap in the midst of all of that. I love the title. :)

No way did Jero leave of his own free wiil. Augie's henchman was definitely involved. Which makes me very worried for Jero. We remember what happened to Zeke...

But of course, Augie has laid everything out to make it look like Jero's taken off with Doc Weepy. Jero's stupid mistake was agreeing to meet with Saul and keeping it a secret from Nata. Now she won't know what to think.

Detective Ani keeps collecting info. He will be very helpful to Nata. But he needs to watch his back too. Augie keeps shooting him these icey looks. Never has a father-son moment over tying a tie looked so menacing.

I may be evil, but I was kind of glad Honorio turned off the phone and let Connie suffer in jail for a while. She needed to have a cold bucket of reality thrown on her for her incredible stubborness and stupidy over the last few weeks. Of course Hon will feel like a lout when he gets his messages, which is fine too because he has been behaving like an ogre. They both need to learn a lesson.

I'm also glad that the phone call didn't ruin the fun of the family gathering. That just looked like such a fun family dinner, minus Berta who couldn't even manage to fake being happy amongst her loving family. She even rejected the cute puppy! The girl has no heart.

Sylvia- Like you I was struck by how Nata, Adri, and even Gina (!) instinctively clammed up about the pregnancy when Berta walked into the room. That says a lot about how much they trust her or believe that she wouldn't somehow manage to make some nasty comment about it. Perhaps they thought they were sparing her feelings also, since she can't have kids?

Cheryl- Yes, Mati, Nata and Coni (who got a nice warm blanket from somewhere) could all use the Pear Robe right now. :)

Carlos- I added an image to the beginning of the Pear Robe post that I think you'll enjoy.

Don't you all feel sorry for Roberta? She had to sit there during a huge family dinner and watch her ex-husband give his new fiancé a puppy and then a ring, and then set a wedding date, while all the family made a huge fuss over them!

Just kidding! (about feeling sorry for Roberta)

Fabulous Amy! Thanks so much for the lovely recap.

Audrey

Love the title, Amy. Your brain must be working on high after all that studying. I'm glad you're done with all that.

Why? Oh Why, is it so hard to complete a wedding on this show. I know that this whole kidnapping of Jero and the ensuing doubts that Nata will have are necessary plot devices to ramp up the drama for the ultimas semanas. I know it and I hate it. But I hate even more that they made it happen on the wedding day. It was dramatic enough just because it happened on the pregnancy confirmation day.

Nice plot device to send Adri for the pregnancy test so that Mati can see Saúl, Marina (with suitcase) and Jero. It will cause SO much misunderstanding.

Anibal -- start weaving those threads of information together. Nata needs to hear what you know.

When the ladies were all cooing over the baby news and Berta walked in my first thought was "How is Berta going to feel after her own miscarriages (of baby and of justice)? The way everyone clammed up instinctively is probably a mix of mistrust and empathy. They are all suspicious but they are all kind also.

What an emotional roller coaster you drew, Amy. You did a wonderful job in capturing it all.

Güera

Thank you Amy!! Just wanted to thank you in advance and share my excitement. I know something bad is going to happen but I just watched the scene where Renata reveals her pregnancy. I loved the happy dance with the cute pup and hugging and all and how it all sizzled when wet blanket snitchy-skank Roberta came in. Even her "mother" Regina went along with keeping her shut out. Love it! Oh, I think I'm going to go shopping now whiule everything is still all happy and finish this ep, cap and comments later. Thank you Amy!

Lila

Great recap Amy. Glad to have you back. Your title is perfection.

"The only thing she's missing is a pint of Ben & Jerry's and a fluffy robe."

Yes, the perfect spot for the Pear Robe.

Poor Jerry, he just never learns. He should have told Nata where he was going and he should have taken Lazaro along.

Sylvia, I agree with you about the sadness of that scene and coupled with the scene Audrey described speaks to what a truly lonely and tragic figure Roberta is.

I know that Matias has no warm feelings for Robi, but when he presented the ring with the puppy, It was if Roberta wasn't even there.

I wonder if Aníbal knows enough to tie Jerry's absence with the things he has seen and overheard. Too bad that Laz and Matias couldn't find a reason to stick around a bit longer to see what Jerry was up to.

Does anyone understand what Carlos was trying to communicate by coming so close to kissing Mati and then abruptly walking off? That scene really left me puzzled and annoyed.

Carlos

I'm still not feeling one bit out pity for Berta, even given that she had to watch her ex husband propose to someone else. She is lucky that after all she has done that they have even allowed her to be part of the family at all.

Plus, her marriage to Matias had nothing to do with love, and EVERYONE at that table knows that. She lied to him that the baby she was carrying was Jero's and played on his better character to support her. Then she carried through with that lie to everyone else and kept trying to pin her baby on Jero. Nopis. No sympathy.

I did see the irony in her being a GUEST in the hacienda that was named for and intended for her. Now it's Nata's. Irony's a b!tch Berta.

After my last comment, I just thought of an alternate way this whole tn could have gone had Berta actually married Rafa and moved to Ensenada. She would have treated the staff like crap. She would have probably still miscarried doing something stupid. She would have still met Augie and started having an affair with him. Fina would have realized that Rafa had money/assets and conspired with Berta and Augie to get him out of the way. Either Fina or Augie would have had him killed. Berta would cry her big boohoo tears-- you killed the love of my life, the only man who ever truly loved me. Blah, blah. Augie and Fina duke it out over controlling Rafa's estate, but Jero comes and foils all that. Jero and Nata meet when she's come to the hacienda to care for her widowed and barren sister. They fall in love. All the hacienda staff love Nata. Augie becomes obsessed with Nata. Augie, Berta and Fina work to separate Nata and Jero and to get their hands on the Rafa-Jero lands and fortune. After many nefarious deeds Augie and Fina kill each other. Berta's end is still unclear. Nata and Jero eventually live happily ever after on the hacienda.

I'm really glad that the ladies didn't let Roberta know that Renata was pregnant. Roberta would have been so livid knowing that she can't have children but her hated sister is, who knows what she would do. And then she would have called Augustine right away with the news and he would pop a neck vein with that one. If his plan wasn't to kill Jeronimo before, it definitely would be in his plans after he hears about the pregnancy.

Carlos had better step up with what Jeronimo told him about meeting Saul. I'm thinking that Augustine's plan was to have everyone think that Marina and Jeronimo left town together. Now with Carlos' info and Anibels info, they can figure out what really happened.

Cheryl, you said "This TN is just plain hard on weddings." Amen to that sister!

I didn't even consider that Jero might be nabbed, just that he'd stick his dumb mug in where it didn't belong (again) and get all wrapped up with trying to convince Marina to stay. I guess we will have to wait until Monday to find out.

Audrey, Nopis, I do NOT feel sorry for Roberta. Even the puppies don't like her. Your question made me hoot, yeah right. I wonder if she and Pris will get along.

Vivi...I like your alternate scenario. If Character is Destiny, Roberta will still end up badly. She poisons everything she touches, just like Mom.

Still...these TN's do often throw in last-minute redemptions...but not sure if this particular group of writers do. We shall see.

Vivi, I too liked you alternate plot progress. Yes Judy, character is destiny for Roberta. She is so bitter towards everyone's happiness that she never has time to create her own good life. Audrey, you are so funny. I don't have any sympathy for her either. Was it our master memory maven, Vivi, who noted that Regina registered a blink at the news that Selene wasn't her BBF anymore on seeing the wedding announcement but was the recipient of the gift just days or weeks before when Roberta ran to hand money to Fina.

Lila, you and I are both going to have anguished episodes next week and maybe everyone will get some of it next week. I noticed that they changed the previews to say "ultimas capitulos" last night so we are in the home stretch. I have not seen a date posted for the finale yet. I wonder which of us will get that honor.

Carlos, I am totally on board with your support of Matilde now. She is the big victim of Priscila's devious plans and Carlos is still so stupid about her motives. Poor Mati keeps running off without seeing or hearing the end of sentences or scenes. This character flaw of attention deficit will keep her miserable until near the end I fear.

Amy of the Blue Flowers, Let me chime in with awe and appreciation of your hanging in on this CME with us while you finish your school term. It is truly astounding. I hope it is a transforming release for you to delve into this story and forget your cares for a time. I know it often performs that miracle for me. But way to go, lady! You are awe inspiring!

Judy, Character is Destiny, I like that.

Vivi, your alternate scenario is a hoot. I like how your plot ends up similarly, but via a different set of circumstances. It sounds appropriate that Fina and Augustin would kill each other off. We shall see what happens to those two in the end.

Coming on late today - trying to get all packed and ready to fly out tomorrow. Love the title Amy, too funny. Half of a half a dozen buns already for our galan.

You know Jero has to be snatched by Augie/Saul. But thank goodness for our Superman-in-Training Anibal (After all Laz is now a married man, he needs to retire the cape soon.)

Also glad that Ani caught Berta with her antics. Still can't quite figure out what Berta's ultimate payback will be in this TN, but it can't, and frankly shouldn't, be good. I was pretty worried there for a sec they would tell Berta the baby news...I wouldn't put it past her to try and ruin that somehow too out of jealousy since she can't have kids now. Thank goodness so far she doesn't know. Hope they keep it that way.

Is it wrong to say I didn't feel a whole lot of sorry for Coni - I loved the character up to this baby plotline, then she went brain-dead. But I do hope they resolve soon, get this plot over with and move on. Oh, and someone give Honorio a good kick in the pants, just for good measure. He hasn't exactly been a signing example of seeing the forest for the trees either.

LOVE THE PUPPY!!! I had a puppy that looked just like that once. Made me teary.

My early thanks to all the recappers next week. I am totally dependent on you for keeping me going on the plot. I already signed up for full internet service in the hotel so I can enjoy my morning or evening coffee with Caray Caray. Trust me, I'll need the friendly atmosphere!!

Thanks for your recap Amy and congratulations on finishing your papers and exams.

When will our poor baker ever learn to tell his wife his whereabouts? I know its a plot device but more miscommunication and anguish is just painful as Güera noted.

The scene regarding Renata, Regina, and Adri withholding the pregnancy from Roberta was a combination of wanting to be sensitive to Roberta's situation and knowing her Debbie downer attitude. I am eager to see her complete unmasking.

While Coni was shocking stupid about the baby as others have noted Hon was shocking cruel about the baby. I don't think you are mean Vivi [I also enjoyed your alternative TN scenarios] they both need to mature on this matter and honestly discuss Coni's desire for children.

daisynjay, have a good trip next week. It sounds like it will not be fun but I hope it's as good as it possibly can be. At least you'll be able to check in with us even if you can't watch the episodes.

Karen, I think you're right. Coni and Honorio have a few things to discuss. They are clearly not on the same page regarding the kid thing and they are both dismissive of how the other feels.

Amy, if your final projects went as well as this re-cap, you are acing all your classes! Thank you!

Okey, so how many wedding do-overs can one telenovela accomodate? Sheesh.

The 3 amigas clamming up when Berta walked in was so telling of Regina's thoughts. She does not trust that girl, either. It's nice to have the sensible, non-histrionic Regina back in the game. I loved how she and Renata were striking mirror image poses while having their heart-to-heart chat on the bed.

Adri was so cute showing the puppy to Tia Roberta, who ruined a cute moment. Also, when Renata put the puppy up to Regina saying, in puppy voice, "I want a hug too!" Such a cute little perro!

Anibal Darling, we need to SAY something. To Renata, or Alison, or Laz. Maybe not to Manuela, who will hush up his "gossiping". Please Anibal, be the hero for Jero.

Augie totally f*@&^$d up his chance at a wonderful father-son rite of passage. Him ripping the tie away was maddening.

Carlos - I read Carlos' near kiss to Mati to say "You can go ahead and pout and play games, or you can have me... the manly me. Grow up." He doesn't know what she saw and in that light Mati came across as extremely immature.

Rosemary la Otra

oops... Meant for that to read:

Anibal Darling, we need YOU to SAY something...

Do you all think that Saul is in this only for the money or did Auggie weave his magic and make Saul think that Jero has really used and abused Marina? When Saúl used that line about Jero's selfishness in wanting all his women at his beck & call I wasn't sure whether he was using a line Auggie fed him as part of the plot -- or was it what he believes?

Daisynjay -- have a good trip next week. I hope you have better luck with dailymotion than I did recently --but even if you can only get part of an episode on that site our recappers are so good that I can usually see the episode in my head even if I miss it in real time.

Vivi, your alternate plotline is a hoot -- but we end up in about the same place no matte what because the characters are drawn to similar behavior even in alternate circumstances. Good catch on that one.

I'm so glad that Anibal got to see Berta & Auggie sucking face. One more thread in place.

Güera

Saul has to be all about the money. Look at the way he handles those dice. Only someone evil (or mobstery) would do that. It's weird.

Anibal needs to tell Allison what's going on. Then she tells her grandmother who tells the kitchen committee and in minutes it'll be all over El Valle that Roberta has a thing with Augustin and that he knows Saul, which is reason to question Saul's motive. Spill, kid!

Kelly

Rosemary, Guera and Kelley, If we all think it hard enough maybe we can wish Anibal into telling the right people about Augie's evil slips. It may be a few episodes before anyone catches on since it looks like Augie has spent plenty of money and brought in new staff to help Jero disappear. I just hope Melecio isn't part of the crew this time. He really has no soul.

Cathyx, I'm hoping we don't spend too much more screen time with Carlos being the fool. Priscila will make a permanent mess then we will have too many weddings on the last episode. I'm also on the keep Roberta in the dark side. She is such a spoil sport. I do hope Selene gets to rub in a few more revelations of what a rat she is. Maybe she will drop by the center to fill Regina in on some reality.

Thanks Amy, glad you can relax now.
Vivi, you should write your own TN, that was a pretty good plot.
I don't really understand what they are going to do with Jero, especially if Marina is involved. I'm sure they are kidnapping him, but wouldn't she do something? The only answer is that they are kidnapping both of them? A little too aggressive Augie! I think he really went off the deep end this time. This will do him in.

I am watching a program featuring the career of Alfredo Adame (our Honorio in CME) on Vidas Paralelas. Wow what an intelligent guy. He's a pilot as well as tv host and actor. I was watching my favorite Sunday program El Punto with my hero Jorge Ramos which was followed by Vidas Paralelas and there he was.

Cheryl, is that program airing today? I've set up my Tivo to record Vidas Paralelas just in case today is the show that features Alfredo Adame. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, Sylvia, I just saw it today. the program here airs several times so I hope you got it on your tivo. He has had some incredible troubles along with the triumphs. All very interesting insights.

Vivi - Your PEAR ROBE PROJECT is fantastic! I just finished reading it and all the funny comments. Carlos' mockumentary suggestion is too funny!

I forgot to ask when I left my comment on that post how you got the cute little cartoon? Did you make it? Or did you actually find a pear cartoon?

Cheryl and Sylvia - I would love to watch the Honorio interview, but I don't have that channel. Do either of you have Comcast? May I be so snoopy as to ask how much extra you pay for the additional Spanish channels? I called a few months ago but they told me it would be $39/month extra just to add that package to one tv. Does that sound right?

R la O

Thanks R la O! Glad you liked it. I actually was doing an image search for "pear robe" to see if there was a vendor selling something similar and I found the cartoon. It was just so perfect, especially after Carlos' comments, that I had to add it. :)

R la O, I just pay for basic cable through Comcast and I get Univision, Telemundo, Estrella TV, and another Univision/Telefutura-owned affiliate. The Vidas Paralelas show is airing on my main Univision channel, the same one that airs CME and the other main telenovelas. In my area (Silicon Valley) it airs today at 1:00 p.m. I've never checked about the cost of any expanded cable. I guess I'm lucky that I get those four stations as part of the basic lineup.

Well, that's odd, Sylvia. I also get those stations, but Vidas Par is not on my Univision. There is a movie playing at 2 my time, which would be 1 your time. Going all up and down today's line up, it is not on Uni. It is on a channel labeled 52MX, which is clear up in my 600s, and must be part of the extra package.

How strange that Univision does not show the same in different areas. In fact, sometimes you guys re-cap things that are simply not in my recording, like I miss scenes here and there. I know Lila says her show randomly goes to commercials and she misses things too.

Does anyone know the end date for CME?

R la O

"Yikes. It was probably for the best that Honorio didn't find out he had a daughter 'till she was 20. He's oddly apathetic (even hostile?) toward an abandoned infant." Amy, you nailed it, girl! Dang, Hon, could you possibly be colder? We get that you don't want to be raising babies at your age but you've done everything but tell Connie to just leave it on the church doorstep! YOU are acting like a spoiled brat!

Love your title Amy and thank you for this wonderful "finals are over" gift! A lovely gift wrapped up and tied with blue flowers!

Lila

End Date: I'm thinking CME will have its Grand Final the first or second week of January.

Please be the first week! I will be away the 2nd week with no DVR and very limited internet access. If it finishes on Friday, the 13th I will miss that whole weekend of ultimas recaps and comments.

Okay, with all the problems in the world, the CME finale is a ridiculous thing for me to start stewing over. But stew I will. No matter what, I will eventually see it when I get home. I just want to be impactacado juntos contigo and be in the comments mix.

Now I know how Daisy feels.

R la O

There are supposedly 181 episodes. So 17 left. Normally that would mean 3weeks and 2 days, but the Xmas holidays may cause some skips, even though Xmas and New Year's fall on a Sunday. So maybe 4 calendar weeks left?

So it could end by the first week of Jan 2012. Just depends on how many interruptions.

Thanks, Audrey, for doing the math. Sounds like the first week of the year. I tried to find when El Talisman begins, thinking that would tell us when CME ends, but couldn't find that either.

Wouldn't it be fun if we all lived in the same city and could rent out a sports bar that would play the finale for us all? We'd put those Super Bowl parties to shame!

Lucky us, though. We actually have our own parties EVERY night hosted by our recappers! Thank you to you all.

R la O

HI Rosemary L A, I have basic Dish network with the little satellite on my roof. I get pretty much the same Univision, Telemundo channels and for some reason I get 3 channels that carry Univision so I can watch the mane programs 3 times without recording which I often do the on my recap day. Or I watch it twice if I am fairly energized and paying attention.

Here El Talisman is being advertised as beginning in 2012 without a specific date.

Audrey, two years ago I was in Oaxaca for all of December and was surprised by the local custom of showing the regular telenovelas on all holidays, even Christmas Eve and night and New Year's Eve. This doesn't happen in the US. However, a futbol (soccer) game is a good enough reason to suspend telenovela scheduling.

I meant to say MAIN programs like telenovelas. Wouldn't mane programs have to be about Gitana and other lovely horsies we get to swoon over on tv.

I haven't read the recap or comments and I only saw the last 10 minutes of the ep, so this may have already been addressed.

Doesn't Mexico have a humane society? What was up with shaking that poor puppy when Nata found out she was pregnant. That poor thing's head was bouncing back and forth like a bobblehead on speed. Disturbed me.

Robey

And speaking of animals and Gitana.... will we see the horse again before the season ends? Did she get a rating on EJ's Index?

LOL Robey! I have never had a puppy or dog, so I don't know how hardy they are. I know SN has a lot of them in real life, so I trusted that she knew what she was doing. The little guy didn't look like he was phased by all the squeeling, hugging and shaking though. In fact, it looked like he just wanted to take a nap on which ever shoulder he ended up on.

Vivi: I noticed the puppy didn't seemed phased. I don't have dogs either, so I don't know who much they can take. I was disappointed in SN by her treatment of the puppy, but now that you tell me she has dogs, I'm sure she knew exactly how much "abuse" the little thing could take and I'm back to liking her 100% again.

Well, I am very late to this party but I'll drink the dregs and kick up my heels anyway. Thanks so much for the recap, Amy! I enjoyed it greatly.

What a beautiful wedding scene, until Jero didn't show up. Speak up, Anibal. Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.

I'm surprised at how Augie makes no attempts to hide his nastiness from Anibal, considering that Anibal is friendly with the folks at La Bonita. What exactly does he expect to happen? Does he think Anibal is too intimidated to open his mouth? Does he think if he has Jero kidnapped, Renata will be like, "well, we're all set up for a wedding so there is going to be a wedding. Next in line!" and they'll live creepily ever after?

Honorio is a jerk, but I think stewing in a cell overnight will do Coni some good. She needs to have a nice long think.

I have Comcast cable, but the only stations I get en español are Univisión, TVAzteca, and VMe. I think for another $15/month approximately I could get another 20 or so Spanish-language channels. Or maybe it's only $5/month more. I find their pricing schemes difficult to decipher.

Hi Robey, It didn't occur to me that Nata was being particularly rough with the puppy but then I'm not a vet. RI do know that puppies are a bit more resilient than their human counterparts. Too bad Barbara is not watching this with us as she is the expert. Here's a video that shows a puppy about the same age as Adri's pup playing with a grown dog and they both seem to be enjoying some rough play.

Carlos

Carlos: Thanks for the vid link. I love animal vids, especially when they feature babies. When I tuned in, I realized I'd seen that one before. Yes, it is rough play. And to be honest, I play rough with my cats sometimes--but they're not babies. Maybe it was just the mood I was in, but it really bothered me. The puppy didn't seemed to be phased though. S/he acutally looked bored.

My word verification is "broke". As in the puppy did not get broke.

Robey

Carlos, Thanks for showing us the rambunctious puppy who stayed in constant motion on his own. IT was really sweet to see the Rotweiler open a mouth large enough to encase the puppy's entire head but remain totally gentle. I guess we don't have to worry about shaken puppy syndrome. I think Renata's action may have been a little rough but thankfully didn't last too long. Willa plays that hard and I can remember when she had endless energy. She already weighed 17 lbs at 10 weeks when I picked her up in California. It has always been hard to pick her up and definitely I can't swing her around. Speaking of that I love cats too and have always hated the phrase that a place was too small to swing a cat in.

Cheryl: "Speaking of that I love cats too and have always hated the phrase that a place was too small to swing a cat in." Me, too. I also hate the skin a cat saying. But the one I hate the most "Curiosity killed the cat." Because people don't finish it: "But satisfaction brought it back again."

OK--this, too. It's not about animals, but I hate when people swear and then say "pardon my French". That's not French!! Unless you say: sacre bleu, or merde, or zut.

Robey

Robey I think the puppy is a girl because they are calling her Beba (Baby Girl). Very cute. The interview I read with SN sometime back said she had 3 dogs, 2 canaries, and 1 cat. The dogs sleep on her bed.

Thanks for the recap Amy. Congrats on surviving finals.

I apologize if I've missed something, but does anyone know how man more episodes we have? Cuando will be over before Christmas, yes?

Supposedly 181 episodes Vivi, 17 left, so should still last past New Year's.

Oops, Sorry! I was answering Doña Gringita's question, not Vivi's!
