El Talisman recappers: want to bail out?

Hi,
It's been suggested by several people (including my dear recappers) that El Talisman is so bad, why not all y'all jump ship and come on to the Passion Pit? I gather it couldn't be worse. Let me know in the comments...

I am distraught at the thought of missing out on the superlatively fabulicious recaps of El Tal gang (wait, no, I don't mean to insult the recappers...I mean the recappers of El Tal show...).

Obviously I don't have a say here since I don't recap this one, but if we can move our fun group to the new show I will be on board.

I hate to just drop El Tal cold now that we're so far into it (are we? It's hard to tell). I'd love to at least have posts for discussion either daily or once a week, and honestly the whole plot* can be captured in a few sentences. We could even take turns with that and I'm sure we'd be wowed by the super short summaries people could come up with. Haiku, anyone?

I'm not watching El Talismán, not since the first awful week.

But the recappers are beyond superb!!!

We've had a Shakespearean recap, a private eye recap, and a guest appearance by Rabbi Jacob.

I read their witty recaps, and the witty comments and am spared the lame telenovela.

Even if we all moved to the new show I would still try to keep up with El Tal. I like Julia's idea of a super short post so we can at least keep ranting.

I bailed out of this one two days into it, but I never miss the recaps. They have truly taken on a life of their own and deserve some kind of award. That said, the poor recappers do deserve a decent TN, even though it might not bring out the best in them
(it takes real drivel to produce that kind of snark I think). And ANYTHING would be better than El Tal. For their own sake, I hope they bail. I just can't imagine keeping it up for the duration of this one.

I like El Talisman and would be bummed if all the excellent recappers left! :(

Count me as one who hopes this superb recapping team jumps ship. El Tal is disgustingly bad. The recaps are amazing.

But this crew of bright people could do an equally amazing job on the Abyss and would be spared having to watch a crap show being shown at a crap hour and being recapped at an abysmal hour.

Dear Folks--
It seems to me that, based on the lack of movement in the story, the endless repetitions, and same interactions with the same folks, none of us would miss the actual telenovela too much.

We would miss the creativity of the recappers and posters and the ability to create something out of nothing--or making a silk purse out of Piggorio's ears.

The change in the time slot, sort of means Uni is giving up on ElTal. They can't wink, wink this one telling us the schedule is being enhanced.

I wonder how Chevrolet, Lala milk, Limpid Pools and the Thai T-shirt Conglomerate, Ltd., feel about having this tn they've invested in moved to a nothing hour (AND competing with half of Y&R).

Maybe the bullet recap would start us down the road to true withdrawl and recovery. Later there could be a weekly post "Discuss Among Yourselves" for those who haven't given up or have lapsed (temporarily, we hope).

Since we are only at Cap. 26--we have a long way to go before the torture ends.

Think about it -- Do we want to tear the bandaid off fast and have it hurt like hell for just a little bit, or peel it off, one hair at a time, and have it hurt not so much, but for longer.

I bailed on El Tal after a week. Just started watching Corazon Valiente on Telemundo. The first night was promising with a few Univision actors. A bald, cane wielding Ruben from Teresa. And Andres from Alborada.

I always go through spells of 2-3 shows at a time then none. I'll check out the new one on Monday.

My vote would be to a) acknowledge the valor of the recappers on the main Caray Caray page sidebar, and b) just have the occasional open thread for anyone who wants to have a little snark fest.

Venenovision should be publicly scorned for this one.

I will miss La Viejita, though.

But the show might finally start to make sense! Lulu screwed up her truck sabotage, Armando gave up trying to be twins (although I was looking forward to that one). It has to get better, right? Right??

Oh Anita, you sound so rational. But the store! The newspaper! I will miss those. Maybe we can start another?

Rosemary la Otra, Anita, Julia:

I think that the store, the newspaper (FUG) and the serious snark will tend to hang with this group. Such a sweet community got started in CME and continued onto ElTal. Actually it started long before that, but you know what I mean.

I like the idea of at least having a place to post comments and short recaps for El Tal. Julia's Haiku sounds like a real challenge.
El Tal team, I believe the gauntlet has been thrown down for Haiku recapping.

EJ

EJ et al--Whether it's Haiku or Shakespeare, it means someone will have to continue watching El Tal. Somehow, I don't think our hearts will be in it.

We are a very dedicated community of commenters. We don't really know how many lurkers are out there are watching El Tal and depend on these recaps to understand what is going on.

Of course, we don't always know what's going on and don't care or, conversely, we always know what's going on and still don't care.

What to do, what to do. Personally, I'm going to give PP a try--Livia Brito and CE are worth a gander. The story sounds pretty traditional. We'll find a way to get Tal*Mart products to the shelves in Mexico (there's nothing like outsourcing and maquiladoras).

But the store! The newspaper! the Bingo cards!! too much to quit cold shower now!! you all are such fun group...

CE, if you are referring to Cesar Evora, i dont think he is there for long... lol

so are we bailing out? is someone going to blog every night so we can share snark about the episodes at least those of us who can tape it during the day?

We bail, we bail, we bail.

Maybe each recapper can put up a discussion header for El Tal at the same time they post their recap for Abismo...?

I'm in favor of Blue Lass' suggestion. We fans of El Tal (and I use the term lightly) need an outlet for our frustrations, cheers, jeers and downright hilarity over the antics of our characters.

Some of us will be watching, no doubt, but those who can't will be left out of the resolution of all the loose ends, if we don't provide some sort of continuity.
