El Talismán #45 Tue 4/3/12 Army grows a brain, same with Pedro (for some things)Tony steps in for a minute, and Rennie is in big trouble
Rumor has it that Tuesday's episode is a good one. Madelaine, I stole a portion of your comment for today's title. I'm actually looking forward to watching this episode!
Labels: Talisman
Glad Pedro met with the investigator. He is right on the money telling the investigator that Pigoro made Mariana disappear and how in the blazes did Rennie get ahold of that check? Oh he must be Pigorio's accomplice. That was really good, except we all know that Rennie really had nothing to do with the disappearance. But it would be great for Rennie for the check fraud.Pedro still is clueless about Tony and Cameela though. So stupid to beleive anything Loocrazy tells him.
Loved Army dragging El Viral out of that Luxury Place. She is so stupid. He was right though.
Can't wait for the investigator to start grilling ole Rennie about that check and where did he get it. I hope Rennie and Rita go down in flames. The investigator had a clue about Rennie though.
I was curious about one scene that looked over some sort of body of water so I did a little research. (I know, this is really being filmed in FL, but I find really strange things to amuse myself). Millerton Lake is Northeast of Fresno and Pine Flat Lake is East. If you take the highway to Pine Flat Lake you go through a town named "Avocado". So I have decided that ALcatrash is really in Avocado and not Fresno.

If Tony looks like a pimp but is more the pimpee, Gagorio is the pimple.
Looking forward to today's epi.
So, what happened to Camila? Last I read, she slapped Pedro on her way out. Is she on her way to Davis? Thats what I would do if I was her. Leave her loser family behind and start over.
Two really funny parts:
-Elvira's breathing exercises
And
-Panchito hiding his watermelon slice under his hat.
Antonio had so much swagger in that one step walk into Renato's place. Hot.
Rosemary Primera - How funny about the town of Avocado! I vote we all meet there next year for the premier of Casa de mi Padre Dos.

I still can't figure out how he got off scot-free after Mariana told the cops he was the one who attacked her and killed her baby and then she was left with brain damage. He didn't even have to go to court.
I couldn't believe today's episode. Stuff happened, the plot advanced, and I got the feeling some of these loose ends might start getting tied up. Valentin even made an appearance!
R la O, weren't Elvira's breathing exercises a hoot? Today I got the feeling that Julieta Rosen's tongue is firmly in her cheek when she is playing Elvira. I loved how she told Armani she'd kick him out and then immediately begged him to return when he told her he'd get a job and support himself. As if.
Madam Bridgette told Doris that she was the best friend of Doris's sister. Why mention that? Are we going to get some background on Doris's family?
Grin.

I can't *believe* I'm still watching this. Thank God no one knows my real name.

Question: Are we using *asterisks* instead of all caps on a stressed word? Like: I am so *fatigued* by all the Pedro/Camila misunderstandings. Did I use *them* properly?
Sylvia - I agree that Julieta has figured out Elvira is no Regina and she is going to embrace all the nuttiness that is Elvira.
Did the newspaper article about Pedro being Mariana's killer that Antonio wanted publish ever come out?
R la O
I'm really excited about people really thinking/acting somewhat logically! Next I need for Pedro to drop the skank.
Forgot to tape today so I'll try on-line. I look forward to tomorrow.
Section A
Fashion Page: What on earth was that get-up that Lucrecia was wearing? It looked like some flesh-colored onesie with black patent leather crotch-to-knee patches.
Farm Page: The fowl that Jenny was feeding in the yard when Antonio came to grill her followed him back to El Tal and provided the background noise for Antonio and Lucrecia's very unimportant conversation.
Gossip Page: Camila never calls Renato on his supposed mansion (which she had just been to earlier or the day before). She does call him on his slip that his is his place (#2, writ large on the door) and instead insists on knowing why he now wants to divorce Elvira. Intrepid Reporter heard him say that he made a mistake; she's just not the woman he thought she was. Somehow, this divorce is going to be Camila's fault. Keep an eye out for the lastest on the Weddings, Engagements and Divorces page.
See Section B for Continuation
Police Beat: Something is going on in the Fresno Chief Detective Inspector's Office. Intrepid Reporter can only see through the big office window; ah, IR finds a nice officer to share the low down.
It seems Pedro does recognize the check. It was precisely the amount of money that Mariana loaned him to pay Elvira after he won El Talisman from Don Gregorio in that ill-fated poker game and poor (it was so long ago) Esteban offed himself.
Kind hearted Pedro didn't want the family to end up in the street, but since he and Camila were on again off again, he made the check out to Elvira and mailed it to her with a note saying that he didn't want Camila to know anything about it. Tut, tut says FCDI, you should have been clear with Camila. But at least it's clear Pedro didn't steal Mariana's money.
Pedro has no idea where the check has been all these years or how it ended up in Renato's hands. Neither he nor FCDI think Renato could or would have carried out the kidnapping or disappearance of Mariana and besides, Renato was living in another state when this happened and has only been in Fresno for a couple of years (oh, and FCDI has Renato's number as a moocher).
Pedro is certain that Don G was the one who perpetrated the crime against Mariana, but perhaps Renato is some sorth of accomplice. The FCDI is about to leave to go interrogate him, er question him. Pedro sweet-talks his way into letting him accompany him in a citizen's ride-along.

Real Estate Section: None of the houses listed with the Fresno Luxury Realty Co. are large enough for Elvira. She wants a place with eight bedrooms, so she can entertain all of Renato's important business clients and society friends. [ed. note--Maybe she should just lease Brigitte's for those special occasions.] Anyway, this all was not very important, other than to show how anguished Elvira is over Renato's not answering any of her phone calls to him and she's sure he's going to divorce her, ruin her life and it's all Camila's fault [ed. note-What did I tell you, ha.]
Society Page: The Doris Educational Club is in full swing. She's counting on everyone's support for this new strategy, but especially Brigitte's, to learn all of Don G's dirty little businesses. She is sure Lucas is going to be the man to help her, despite Brigitte's dire warnings that he's a most dangerous man.
Sports Page: It's a YELLING match and a SHOVING contest taking place within the confines of the Fresno #2 venue. Engaged are Rita, Renato and Camila.
It starts getting a little rough, and lo and behold, Antonio shows up and breaks up the skerfuffle. But, it's not over yet, folks. Pedro and FCDI show up at the door. Pedro and Antonio heat it up again, with Tony marking his territory (that would be Camila). Pedro gets in a good dig when he tells Antonio that he'd better get that divorce, because the little lady there doesn't like married men.
Wrapping it up, Camila finally knocks on the door to Renato and Rita's inner sanctum and lets a terrified Renato know that the POLICE are there for HIM.
The Intrepid Reporter left out all of Rita and Renato's discussions, because, after all, they were behind closed doors, but apparently Renato wanted to flee to avoid all the scandal and was actually packing his bags. Sensible Rita was trying to work out some other options.

I especially loved the real estate office scene, with Armando so mortified by his mother's tacky behavior, and Antonio's immense swagger at Renato's.
But even more, I loved the Intrepid Reporting of FUG. Our Intrepid Reporter noses in where angels and zebras fear to tread.
How have we not been talking about that awful outfit of Lucrecia's? Those black patches on gold siran wrap. It looked really cute from the back (another reason I don't like her), but so circus-like from the front.
Thank you so much for the morning paper. It was great to read with my morning tea. I can hardly wait until we have an edition with an Obituary Section.
Can we hope for updates as they happen?

LOL blue lass, i think there are a lot of us on that boat and I DO use my real first/middle names.
Did the newspaper article about Pedro being Mariana's killer that Antonio wanted publish ever come out?
I dont think he wanted it to come out, he wanted to show the cut up article to Cameela to show her what 'had been published back then' but it was not meant to be published.
remember the guy wanted more money from Antonio to make the paper look old
I tape the TN that follows Ni Contigo ni sin Ti, so I get to see only about 5 minutes at the end. I hope what I saw as upcoming does happen.
Seriously, I have to ask, would anyone still be with Pedro at this moment?
That was a stupid plotline the new writers would have foregone.
And Antonio did have the mother of all smirks as he draped his arm over Camila...
About freezing Mariana's accounts. We know they do things differently in Fresno, but surely something must have alerted the bank that besides having a stale check presented, this was the first activity in years on Mariana's account.
I too, fear for Doris. Brigitte has warned her twice about Lucas being dangerous. That's very close to calling up an anvil. Still, Lucas is helping Don G and DG and Doris are both working toward the same end, getting that divorce. Maybe once Doris finds out about the "new" last will and testament she want to rethink her options if she thought she was going to get something concrete in the divorce settlement.
Anita
Antonio's fake article, just another plot left dangling by the previous writers or will it eventually pop up?
Anita, thank you so much for providing your recap of yesterday's events. There were so many moments during the episode where I actually laughed out loud, and then I got to do it again while reading your review of events.
I think we are all fonder of Doris after EJ's "Doris Speaks" recap. I'd hate to see her get whacked at this point.
"Mother of all smirks", yes indeed Tony sure had it. I notice Camilla shrugged his arm off her shoulder though, hee. Gotta say I like how Pedro maintained his cool during their little pithing contest in the doorway. He is great at maintaining eye contact with his enemies.
El Viral learns the truth, Rennie is grilled, and there is a sighting, and the possible return of a good character.
Hee, word verifications: nattybro and elvsquirt
