Your wife is a creeper! The yearly In-Service Management Sensitivity Training classes at the Procesadora have certainly paid off. Agosto bellows! Que diceSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! The acoustics of the cement walls make Agosto’s yelling more annoying than usual. He stretches the last syllable of the last word of each sentence so it echoes. Carmina Bouvier is having hot nasty animal sex with Paolo and she enjoys it. ..A lot…and often. MentiosOOOOOOOOOOOO! Agosto reaches through the bars, and tries to take a quick swipe and Gabby. It’s the Gospel truth! Alfonsina’s just mad because I shot her son! She’s behind this! Agosto tries ripping off the unmovable bars of his cell. “CalletEEEEEEEEEEEE”! Gabby taunts him a little more. It’s very curious that history is repeating itself. The PRISON guards, hearing all the riotous commotion, finally stroll in, without guns drawn, in at a frantic snail-like, sloth like, turtle-like pace. Relax! Que pasa aqui? Agosto lowers his head and stops screaming. He looks pissed off and defeated. My job is done, says Gabby. Agosto yells,” We will see each other again! Te lo jurOOOOOOOOOO! Te lo jurOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

Dolores is cleaning up when Carmina enters the room. Carmina wants to know what Elisa told her about seeing her with Paolo. I am nothing more than a servant in this house. You know perfectly well what I’m talking about. Carmina’s trying to rattle Delores. There’s going to be a lot of changes, if Agosto stays in jail, ma’am (I think Dolores says this….)
Casa de Don Lucio
Today, Elisa has done everything to bring more attention to her boobs except for wearing neon pasties and pointing at them. Don Lucio tells her not to worry; Don Agosto’s got a good lawyer. We have bigger problems than your father and unfortunately your plunging neckline can’t help us. Alfonsina has a removed the workers from Elisa’s farm.

Did Tonia drop dead? Alfonsina answered the front door. Gael walks in, removes his hat and humbly asks for permission to check on Damian. She allows it; but tells him not to stay long. Damien might get tired.
Casa de Arango Damien’s Bedroom
Florencia is practically sitting on Damien’s lap as he sits up in bed. This makes perfect sense considering he was shot in the thigh and there are no extra chairs in the entire mansion. Gael knocks and enters after being invited to open the door. Damien is happy to see him. Florencia stands and excuses herself. She doesn’t jostle Damien or the orange juice sitting on the tray. It must be the Tempurpedic mattress. She exits the room so she can privately eavesdrop on their conversation from outside of the bedroom door.
Dude, thanks for giving me some of your blood. It was nothing. You would have done the same. That and even more. It’s weird that we have the same blood type. Yeah, very strange. I can’t find a better friend than you. Gael sits at the foot of the bed and Gael then throws something at Damien. Gunshot wound, major surgery to an artery, stitches AND a blood transfusion. Has anyone heard what happened to Damien? Damien dodges out of the way (as much as he can). I want to write a letter to Mi Llittle Elisa Smoopie Bear. Can you hand me the paper and pen on that table? Stand there and watch while I write a love letter to the woman that I love. Can you hand deliver it to her for me? I want you to eat your heart out. Florencia has heard enough and marches down the hallway.
Casa de Arango-Alfonsina’s Bedroom
Alfonsina is sitting in on a love seat, reading a book. It makes perfect sense to have the couch and loveseat in her empty room where there are no gunshot victim visitors. Florencia wants to know why she allowed Gael to visit Damien. He saved his life. I can’t deny him visitation. I’ll appear to be ungrateful. Well, Damien just asked him to take a note to Elisa. Well, that’s kind of your fault since you were caught inspecting Enrique’s cavities with your tongue. We have a couple of days and can work on it while Damien heals.
Dr. Tovar’s Office
Mrs. Kravitz has come to discuss their daughter, Sabrina. She’s worried about her. Sabrina’s changing. Dr. Tovar tells reminds his wife that she has been too worried about Alfonsina. Mrs. Kravitz agrees; she is very worried about her friend. She’s worried about the situation Alfonsina is going through with Damien. Dr. Tovar tells his wife that their problems are between him and her and does not concern their children.
Casa de Castanon
Gael brings the love letter from Damien. Personally, I would have burnt it and spit on the ashes. She rips it open and reads it right in front of a man that loves her. She doesn’t read it out loud, but I can only imagine the filth it contains considering last week’s PDA tour. Dear Elisa Bear, why didn’t you come to my hospital bed so that we could make out in front of the hospital staff? We’ve never done that before. Gael wants to leave, but she asks him to stay and chat. He doesn’t want to talk about Damien, just like he didn’t want to stand there while she read his rival’s letter. We don’t have to talk about Damien. I want to talk about you and get all up in your business about your sister, Kenia. You know about that? Of course. She grabs his hand and leads him into another part of the house.
Witch Mountain
Paloma is smiling again. While Ramona prepares enough food to feed a quarter of the Mexican Federales , Paloma tells her abuela that Kenia is Gael’s sister. Ramona is not thrilled. Paloma wants to know what she’s thinking. Please someone interpret this conversation. I didn’t have ccs. I was watching on line.

Elisa has taken Gael into the kitchen for lemonade. The lighting is better in the kitchen and she wanted him to get a better look at her boobies. She asks him, whether or not he going to stay? Did he leave? He was gone 15 minutes. At best, he drove around the corner. As my best friend (yeah, that’s what he wants to hear from the girl that he loves). They discuss how Kenia and father Lupe will miss him. He says that he only considers Father Lupe as his family. The doorbell rings. Dolores comes in and announces Lucio.

That’s a lot of money! Elisa, Gael, Lupe and Dolores brain storm on a way to come up with the bail. Elisa offers to put up Estefania’s necklace. Lupe tells her no.
Casa de Arango-Kitchen
Tonia is washing dishes (she’s alive!). Alfonsina comes in and wants to discuss Braulio being at the Shot Gun wedding. Tonia complains to Alfonsina that Gabby is showing nepotism to Vincente by promoting him to a better position. OMGosh, she’s complaining that Gabby is trying to be a good father by taking care of someone that is unaware that Gabby is his father. What an ungrateful jerk! Alfonsina says that she will take care of it.
Casa de Dr. Tovar (menos Dr. Tovar, Sabrina and Enrique)
Mrs. Kravitz walks in to the house and calls Sabrina’s name. After not getting an answer, she runs upstairs and checks Sabrina’s bedroom. Nope, Sabrina is definitely not there; the room is completely dark. Mrs. Kravitz sinks down onto her daughter’s bed and looks up at the ceiling.
Tovar Family Hotel Room (menos Mrs. Kravitz)
Sabrina is in Dr. Tovar’s hotel room. There are only two beds, but that’s ok, she and Enrique have an unusually close sibling relationship. He won’t mind sharing a bed with her. Dr. Tovar enters the room. Does every man in town own a plaid shirt? Is it the right of passage uniform? Sabrina says that she’s not going home either. You’re a chick, says her father. You can’t stay here in the man cave. We might want to scratch in odd places. I’m going to tell your mother that you’re here.
Casa de Castanon-Master Bedroom
Elisa tells Carmina that Agosto’s bail is astronomical. Give up some of your valuables for your husband, honey. I don’t have any money. You have something of value. Sell it. Carmina goes to a locked drawer and removes her dead sister’s jewelry.
Procesadora
Please add to this conversation as well. Alfonsina tells Maru to go get Gabby. She waits in his office. Explain why you have promoted Vincente to your personal assistant! I needed an assistant. Gabby, don’t jerk me around. (Male plunging neckline alert! His shirt is unbuttoned mid-chest; unfortunately, they don’t work with Alfonsina. Take her off of the list.) I’m messing with Braulio for getting involved with Elisa and Damien. Gabby tells Alfonsina that he made sure that the bail was very high. Alfonsina tells Gabby to get the exact amount of the bail.
Casa de Castanon-Agosto’s Office
Elisa is looking through her father’s papers. She tells Dolores that she wants to know what Agosto has in his accounts. She’s sporting and extra teeny mini paisley shorts and some boots made for walking today. She takes a mysterious phone call from an unidentified caller.
Casa de Arango
Paolo is busy, lying in the bed looking pretty, with his shirt unbuttoned. Guido walks in and rudely interrupts the view. Guido wants to know if Paolo is going to work today. Yeppers, he says. He puts his shoes on and buttons up his shirt. Guido tells Paolo that he should go back to Mexico because he is going down since he’s been in La Ermita.
Casa de Dr. Tovar (menos los ninos Tovar)
Dr. Tovar informs Mrs. Kravitz that Sabrina is at the hotel and she refuses to return home. Mrs. Kratvitz wants her husband to convince her. He thinks that the only reason Mrs. Kravitz is upset about Sabrina is that she walked out; whereas Enrique was put out. He tells her to allow some distance between the two of them. Sabrina is FL&>21. Hmmmmm Enrique will certainly be a happy man tonight.
Casa de Arango Kitchen
Braulio wants Tonia to tell Damien that his mother has stopped the work at Elisa’s fields. Tonia refuses. She doesn’t want to be in business that is not her own. Florencia comes into the kitchen to get food and take it to Damien. Tonia uses Florencia to point out that she has had no access to Damien since he has returned home.
Casa de Arango-Damien’s Bedroom
Damien struggles to get out of bed. He puts on his slippers and grabs his crutches that he borrowed from Carmina. Florencia enters the bedroom with his breakfast, and tells him to get back into bed. I need you drugged and incoherent so that I can seduce you. He says he’s tired of being in bed. He doesn’t need her help. He’s suspicious of her motives. She tells him that she still loves him and she is just there to help. He’s just worried about his Little Elisa Smoopie Bear.
Procesadora
Looks like Ingrid is going to have a lot of new pearls. Carmina has bought all of Estefania’s jewelry to Gabby. So it was you who stole Estefania’s jewelry! He doesn’t want them. He has no cash and they will be hard to fence. False alarm! Poor Ingrid, better luck next time. He wants to know why she wants to do business with him. They don’t get along. She will do anything for Agosto. She asks if he can find someone who can buy the jewels. He tells her to leave them with him and he’ll take care of it. She tells him to “sell crazy somewhere else” and walks out with the pearls. When she leaves his office, she runs into Paolo, who is also sporting the male version of the plunging neckline (his shirt is practically unbuttoned down to his navel).
Babe, you have performed some amazing porn star tricks on me. If I would have known, I would have dated cougars sooner and left those young girls alone. I’m hooked. He wants to know what she told Elisa about seeing them together. That’s none of your business! Get away from me. I’m married. Paolo says that he should have known that she was just using him for his large boy bit and muscles. She admits it. She tells him that he will wake up dead if he doesn’t keep his mouth shut. You don’t know who I am. She tells him that she has always known that he was stupid or something like that. Plunging necklines do not work on Carmina either. Check her off of the list.
Inglesia
Kenia visits Gael, who is leaving to go check on Agosto’s fields. They discuss Agosto’s high bail. So far, the brainstorming team has only managed to raise 30% of the bail. Kenia tells Gael about the pearl necklace that Agosto gave to Elisa. Gael tells his sister that Elisa can’t sell it because she doesn’t have a lot of things that belong to Estefania. Kenia says that she’ll help. He wants to know why. He’s her brother and the others are her friends. She’ll help them figure it out. She’s so cute.
Gabby has come to visit Gael. He lies and tells Gael that Ingrid is dying and practically losing limbs. Gabby gives Gael the address to where he can find Ingrid. At first, Gabby tosses the address on the floor, but he feels a little guilty and goes back and pick it up.
Casa de Gingrid
Kenia asks Ingrid for the cash to get Agosto out of jail. Ingrid mocks her daughter. You’re in love with that poor guy? Help me get Gael to like me. He’s a cash cow. Both of us will benefit. Ingrid says that she will not give Kenia any money unless she helps her get to Gael.
Procesadora
Maru announces Elisa to Alfonsina. The identified caller was Alfonsina! Elisa walks in wearing the boots that are made for walking and a plunging neckline. (Obviously she didn’t research the list prior to the meeting). Alfonsina writes a big fat check, with a long black number and offers it to Elisa. It’s the exact amount of the Agosto’s bail. She can have it if she leaves Dam Fine alone forever. Elisa will also have to sign over her fields for loan collateral. Alfonsina demands a decision right now. It’s a big cliffie until Monday! Dam those Credits!

Cynderella- I love the plunging neckline theme. It’s even funnier that most of our plunging necklines are on the men. I am definitely NOT complaining about that.
The important reveal about the jewelry is that Lolita finally told everyone about Carmeany having the same jewelry as Stefi, that supposedly their father gave both of them. Hopefully someone will mention this to Augie, because he’s likely the only one who knows this is not true, and that Carmeany has has Stefi’s jewels all along.
So, two cliff hangers. Both a bad girl and a good girl (Kenia and Elisa) will have to decide if they want to sell their souls to the devil (Ingrid and Alfie) in order to save one poor, sad sack (Augie). This guy does not deserve this much sacrifice.
The conversation between Alfie and Guido was something like this: Alfie is pushing the idea of Flo and Dam being an item again. Guido says he’d love that, but Flo did step out on Dam, Dam is totally now into someone else, and he would only want Flo and Dam back together, IF that is what BOTH of them want. Alfie ignored that last part. Guido also apologized for not having the cash to pay back her loan yet. Alfie doesn’t care about that. He can pay her back once he’s out of financial trouble.
In her conversation with Tonia, Alfie gave Tonia the job of keeping Brau away from Dam (since he is Dam’s ally). If she doesn’t do this, then Alfie will tell Brau about Tonia’s fling (about 9 months before Vicente’s birth) with Gabino. Tonia agrees to do it, but also demands that Alfie help keep Gab away from Vince. Doesn’t seem to me that Alfie lived up to her end of the bargain.
Doc Tovar left the hotel room to get Sabrina a room. No slumber party for Sabrina and Quique. At this point they should just put Begonia in the hotel, and all return to the house. Maybe send her to live with Alfie. Alfie could hire her to keep tabs on Dam and report all that she sees/hears.

Again, you knocked it out of the ballpark Cynderella. I agree the plunging neckline, both male and female, angle was hysterical. For once, us gals got as much as the guys. Gracias to the director. (Pathetic Paolo was especially in fine form.)

Man, the camera was crawling down his tonsils as he bellowed. Even on my crappy small TV it was more than I wanted to see...or hear.
Your asides are always so "rico". My favorite was "Well, that's kind of your fault since you were caught inspecting Enrique's cavities with your tongue." [Alfonsina to Florencia]
On the conversation between Ramona and Paloma, the latter was exultant that Gael was back in town--and swearing that she would find a way to convince him that she could make him happy--and that he would never leave again.
Ramona was silent and dour. Why? Well, you'll accuse me of raining on your parade...but I just don't want you to get your hopes up...or dream dreams that might not come true, mutters Granny.
Sooo...sounds like it's gonna be a long time...or maybe never...before Paloma lands Gael. Since Granny is a seer, that was a real downer. On the other hand, we know her gifts are limited since she's never figured out the deal between Carmina and Rosendo.
And another worrying thing was that Damian's amulet has "disappeared". It wasn't in the hospital packet that Señor Landucci gives Alfonsina, and that evil mother claims to know nothing about it. (Of course she stole it, the witch!)
You have all my sympathies for having to recap without closed captions. The first show I recapped had a cc failure and I was frantic trying to figure out what the galan (who was speaking slang at warp speed) was saying.
And dialogue is always easier to understand if you're not under the tension of having to recap. Performance anxiety is a bitch.
But who cares? As far as I'm concerned, with your marvelous sense of humor, you could make up the whole thing and I wouldn't mind. Just let that saucy mind of your run free, amiga.

Anon--you are too funny, but right on target there with poor Elisa. With you and CathyX, Dam can be "dam" aggravating that he just going along with Flo hanging around every waking minute. He sure can get all surly and neck-tightening when he's pulling one of his braindead rants at Elisa, but can't seem to muster even one taught neck muscle for Flo. Methinks he enjoys it more than he admits??? Can't wait to see what excuse Elisa comes up with for breaking them apart if she accepts mumsy and watch him get all pissy again with her.

I too thought this was a really hard day in Gael's life... first he goes to visit Damian and has to endure that 'let me write a love letter to the woman you love while you watch me and your heart melts down in sadness... then he has to deliver such letter and Elisa wants to talk of how life is so wonderful that Dam will make it and still loves her.. no she wants to talk about him, as if she wants to make sure he will be alright without her with all the other things dancing around in his life... (hello woman! Gael the man who would die for you just delivered a love letter from the man you love and you can only think of talking to him about what his life is about? really? do you need to?... talk about twisting the knife in the open wound!)
then Gael's door seemed to be an airport departures gate, everyone had to check on him and use him as a mediator (even Kenya wanted to do something FOR ELISE and Augie THROUGH Gael!
and Even Gabino came to ask Gael to do something for the woman who has beem missing from his life for twenty some years and suddenly wants him at her side because she is gravely ill?? GMAB 1000 times over!!!

Gab basically tells Alfie that Damian had not only signed a purchase of product agreement with Elisa but also had arranged for some of the procesadora workers to go help out at Elisa’s greenhouse project. But he took care of it (has banned the employees to go work there basically)… Alfie asks Gabino for the contract that Damian and Elisa had signed, but also to write down the exact amount of Augusto’s bail in a little paper for her.. (boy she is detailed with her instructions, isn’t she?)

btw, cyn, you nailed your description of the sad scenes for Gael, you and all commenters... I felt so bad for Gael last night. But he stood bravely through it all and agreed with Lucio that Elisa should not part with her necklace and offered his savings instead, along with Lucio and Lolita. good for him!

If these writers/producers know a good thing, they would keep Kenia. She's such a wonderful and complicated character.

Hey Sara and Marta. Loving your PVAA talk. This is in no way a typical telenovela. Like you said, it's for grown up, who have had real relationships. It's about real life, and real life tough situations in relationships. I actually wouldn't call it a telenovela at all, but rather a study of six marriages and the friendships that form between the women. The actors all do a fab job in their roles.

I am dismayed.
Surely, no one in their right mind can find anything about this woman that is redeemable. Her hatred has fueled her life force for so long that it will surely consume her.
Damian looks like he is becoming weaker and unable to fight against the two steamrolling women who know plot to control his life.

OT: This weekend I saw the movie "For Greater Glory" with Andy Garcia (Academy Award Nominee), Ruben Blades, Catalina Sandino Moreno (Academy Award Nominee), Eva Longoria, Peter O'Toole (Academy Award Nominee) and Karyme Lozano.
This is a movie about the Cristero War in Mexico from the period 1926-1929. This period is also known as the "Cristiada".
The theatre was full. The cast (Latinos!!) excellent. Never have I seen a film where so many Latinos were given first billing and leads in a film. The actors had impressive resumes (http://forgreaterglory.com).
This is a very violent film. If I had known how violent, I probably would not have attended, but it felt so gratifying to see so many wonderful Latinos on that screen. There were a few other actors who had TN experience, but as I have not seen many TN, I do not recall seeing them.
In any event, another bit of minutiae for the day.

I have been spurred on to investigate this history further as I am interested in finding more about the president of Mexico, Plutarco Calles, who wrote the edicts against the Catholic Church.
Coolidge was the American president during that time. The American ambassador to Mexico was sent to negotiate with Calles. Per the movie (I'm not sure if this is historical fact), the Americans primary interest was in securing and maintaining their 50 year accord with Mexico for access to their petroleum fields.
It wasn't until the ambassador saw the carnage, that the Americans understood the extent of what was really happening.

i agree, i am going to give this a good try to stick to watching it as regularly as i can. I agree with your analogy, Sara, it does remind me of that 30 something tv series of a while back... just that the spousal betrayal and abuse sort of gets to me at times. cannot say been there on the physical abuse stuff, but it does ring back some memories so it gets sad for me a times.

the other show PVAA reminded me of is Amas de casa desesperadas, but without so much focus on the sexual themes... more like emotional bonds and relationships and how/why they have deteriorated with time.
Back in 2000 they showed Amor Gitano on weekends. After a while they increased the showings to 2 hours and eventually had it on both Saturdays and Sundays. So if you plan to watch PVAA you need to keep an eye on this.

Somehow I just can't see Elisa selling out her future, especially with that pearl necklace available. Taking that off the table as an option just doesn't seem believable with the deal that Alfonsina offers as the only alternative. And as I understand it, she's offering a loan with the land as collateral. I say sell the necklace.
Also, as much as I like having Flo around to look at, unless she picks up her game a bit, I say send her back to Mexico. Right now she's a pale imitation of the Ilitia I adored in LldA.
As much as we despise Carmina and Ingrid, both must be very good at what they do.

Taking that off the table as an option just doesn't seem believable with the deal that Alfonsina offers as the only alternative. And as I understand it, she's offering a loan with the land as collateral. I say sell the necklace.
Also, as much as I like having Flo around to look at, unless she picks up her game a bit, I say send her back to Mexico. Right now she's a pale imitation of the Ilitia I adored in LldA.
As much as we despise Carmina and Ingrid, both must be very good at what they do.

Sounds to me like PVAA could be a good replacement for Desperate Housewives. I think I'll give it a go and hope it doesn't turn into 2/hours 2x/week. One hour a week would be perfect.
