Refugio Para el Amor #97 Wed 8/22/12 Gala Puts on the Pressure and Pato Almost Confesses
Labels: refugio
I'm a little confused about something. CL wants to move the family away, or only to a big house in the Pueblo?
Judy B-I didn't get a change yesterday to tell you how much I enjoyed your recap yesterday.
"*Laura Flores did an excellent job here, cuz she scared me!*
Did she ever--but despite the crazy cup stirring, I'm still not buying the "mental illness" idea. I've lived with someone with the bi-polar, trouble with reality systems, and the more I see of Rosa, I still think it's someone who is so entrenched in needing to have their own way it becomes their obsession to change whatever threatens that. I would describe it mnore as a personality disorder. Ever see a really spoiled child react being told no-- holding their breath, screaming, destroying something important to get attention? Yeah, now picture that all grown up. That's our Rosa.
" Pato declares he will defend that baby just as though it were his."
Well, I was hesitant the other day thinking the writers may not go there with Pato either claiming the bebe or marrying Luci, but now, as you so aptly pointed out, they just may be going that way. My poor Pato.
And Gala is ramping up the crazy. I'm sure this is the hell we all figured Rod would have to go thru to win back the fair Luci, and my, it will be hell. She even has the audacity to want to take his man-cave for a baby's room. The HORROR!
(Frankly, why don't they just move to a non-bachelor pad place? Just saying). Like watching what Rosa must have been like 20+ years ago.
And for the love of all that is holy...who thought it would be the Champagne Queen spewing words of wisdom and caution to her evil spawn? Must be the hangover!
And I plan to be leaving for Het Het after work tomorrow. The food looks fab, the area looks so relaxing, ( no wonder CL and Pato want to keep coming back) the kids are adorable ( and I am a total sucker for kids) and I want to haggle Magda for that white with black trim shirt. She's worn it twice now, and I want it every time I see it. All are welcome to join me.
"Rod is frantically bench pressing, possibly trying to sweat away the demon known as Gala" was my favorite line of many.
Poor Luci...She has really suffered...
Paquita, my comprehension has much to be desired, so I thought Pato was intimating he might marry Luci to provide protection. Thank you for clarifying this very important point: "Pato declares he will defend that baby just as though it were his. (oh no, my beanie is tingling—this may lead to another storyline)". Was that your thought as well? daisy, I see you have thought this may occur. I did not see this coming at all. As you noted "my poor Pato". Who, by the way, continues to be uber hawt and looking better every day.
I just loved how Pato asserts himself, whether motoring at a fast pace across the lawn, or speeding up to Rosa, forcing her to take a step back. He seemed so at home with Luci and her family! So relaxed, so happy!
Pato and Luci are it for me right now. Rod and Gala can menace, threaten and bicker forever for all I care!
Paquita, thanks again!
Diana
I am so glad that Pato learned about the baby. That was a great scene between him and Luci because they disagreed with each other without it turning nasty (as arguments with Rod tend to). He didn't ever give her an answer about keeping the baby secret from Rod. I really don't see how they could pass any baby off as Pato's in his condition, so I don't think that storyline is coming. But he may have to sacrifice himself at some point to protect Luci and/or the baby. At least that's what I thought when he said that, much like my spidey sense goes off every time CL says he'll protect them with his life. A hero's death for Pato might be the only resolution to this great, unrequited love. As much as I would like to see him fall for someone else, his love for Luci is SO deep, I can't see it happening.
I also loved that scene where he strokes Luci's hair. He would/could do anything for her.
Rod is getting just what he deserves. I cringe at the scenes with him and Gala, but I don't feel sorry for him (yet). And Pato reminded me why when he said to Rod that now that he's spent time with Luci and her family in her home (as Rod has done), he is even more surprised that Rod could have ever believed the crap Rosa-Julie-Gala tried to get him to believe about her. This is exactly the same thing Luci said to him in one of their arguments. It just drove home the fact that Rod is an idiot.
I didn't get everything that Rosa La Loca was saying in her crazy rant, but I got the tail end of it. She was cursing Luci to rot in hell. She said it over and over. Scary!
Of course, for our love storyline to move forward, it seems like Luci is going to have to go back to D.F. at some point. Right now I don't see what would convince her to go back to that city that only brought her trouble and heartache.
Secondly, if I were Rod I would shoot myself in the head. Seriously, I would shoot myself before I would spend one more day with that heifer! Ohhh she is evil!
For a second I thought Max would pull a Jack Nicholson as in "You can't handle the truth!" The spoon against the cup was getting on my last nerve.
As for Rod, talk about out of the frying pan into the fire! So much for that old song about "I want a girl just like the girl that married dear old Dad", which would now lead him to tell the singer "Be careful what you wish for."
I don't think Pato will stay quiet about Luci's baby. He will tell Rod sometime soon unless Rosa silences him permanently. I wouldn't put it past her.
Does anyone see a baby switch in Rod's future? Gala will find out that hers is a girl and pay Don A to switch it with Luci's boy (I think she will have the boy, which will thrill Ariche to the marrow).
I too love Brandon P in the role of Pato... what a great character, and yes, Brandon seems to have a blast driving that chair around. But his facial expression is amazing.
We all know that Rod will be in the blind for a while longer... but this novela is giving us little bits of enjoyment as Pato digs up all the 'secrets' of RosaE, and meanwhile Claudio is unmasking Max little by little...
Can't wait until the next few eps... that hearing/trial should be a blast... too bad they don't have Julio Aleman anymore (RIP) to play the judge. he was wonderful each time he got that role.
But we will continue being addicted to this story... as much as it mimics the old novela rosa in which a big lie separates the lead couple for a long time and then we get the happily ever after in the end, there are enough interesting characters to watch while the big mess unravels.
As far as what Rosa whispered while she frantically stirred her tea cup... she was whispering stte of 'may the devil/demon take over Luciana (and her baby, perhaps) and shove her down to the deepest place in hell...' ... i only got the first little bit, the rest was not even captioned or understandable...
GASP could it be??? Gagme could be a *domestica*, she sure knows how to clean, jus' sayin'. I like how Dead to Me is suffering, serves him right for being such and A$$hat, but I just love how Gagme is suffering. She thought she would own him lock, stock and barrel, but she owns nothing with him. His heart is stone cold toward her. Sure he married her, but you can't force someone to love you. I think she thought her sexploits would snag him, but was she ever wrong.
Ariche, what a doll. I knew as soon as he said bebe Pato was going to find out all about it. And yay Pato. I love how he always steps up to the plate. Wanting to protect Luci and the baby. He and Melissa, and Hanna always want to do the right thing. I wonder where they got this from, considering the family they come from. I know we have been ragging on Mati, but I wonder if they got this from her? After all she basically raised them. She may enable la loca but I think she must have done something right with the kids, maybe not Melissa, but certainly with Pato and Hanna. Don't know what happened to Dead To Me though.
And Dead To Me has no business giving Pato a hard time. Dead to Me made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. Dead to Me should have stuck to his idea of not marrying Gagme and just supported the baby.
Now he gets his b*lls back, I love that line. It's a little late for that.
Aldo cracked me up with his line when he hung up with Lorenzo, her name wouldn't be Rosa would it??? That made me laugh. I am glad the boys got their business up and running again. Maybe Aldo will help them out.
I can't wait for the hearing Torreslanda v Linares. I hope Claudio really trounces them in court. I wonder if we will ever meet this Pedro Campos and the reasons why Max had to have it all. I would be curious to know why.
Daisynjay- I agree with you about la Loca. She is like a big spoiled child that doesn't get her way. And damning Luci to hell, that's where la loca will end up. She is already living a living hell now. All her secrets seem to be coming out, little by little. I am glad they are. La loca deserves everything she gets. I notice with her everytime she pulls one thing, something else comes out.
Love Magda and Paz, what great women. I too like Magda's sayings, she is so wise. They will be great role models for the bebe. What a contrast this family is compared to the Torreslandas!
Copio cracks me up, but I don't like the way he runs to Don A with every little thing.
but i recall a conversation between Julie, Gala and Valentina just after they found out Luci was Claudio's daughter, that Julie said Claudio was the MAJORITY PARTNER in the TL business, so i am not discarding the possibility of Claudio taking over the TL empire after he is declared innocent, and we would have a similar situation that we had in El Privilegio and its sequel Triunfo dA, where the heroine is brought back into the toxic environment as a 'in your face' move by her relative.
I almost lost it crying when Pati told Rod over phone that not only he did not understand how Rod could not believe Luci, but how he wished he could see, even if for just ONE NIGHT, the same 'family' feel in his own family home as he just experienced at Paz's table in Het Het ... (he wished the mood/vibe at Rosa's dinner table would as delightful/ peaceful/ enjoyable as Paz's dinner table at Het Het).
DimRod being a rich Torreslanda, probably knows gem stones fairly well. He had a beautiful diamond but now only has a piece of coal. Good going DimRod. Maybe there are two Torreslanda's that need to visit the brain doctor.
I too don't know how Lorenzo and Fabian got out of jail and back in business.
Urban---Yes, I agree. Luci's baby will be a boy while Gagme's will be a girl. I hope that Gagme doesn't try to hurt her baby. OMG! Gagme for a mother!

But in the meantime, Don Trini has let them borrow the old bike he loaned them before (it's the new bike from Aldo that got taken) and Vio found an old basket for them to use. They also found a new corner, although not as busy, nice or lucrative as their old one.
I wonder what Rosa had to do with Claudio going to jail for 20 years? But she must have played a part after what Max said. Vivi, do you remember anything being said.
Rosemary Primera
Love every scene of Luciana and Pato together, and was delighted that Ariche spilled the frijoles; even more so that it looks like Pato is going to stand up to his mother like Rodrigo never did (not for long anyway.)
Really sympathize with Rod working out his anger with exercise because that's how I do it also. Why oh why is Gala going to try and deep-six his one area of rage release? Guess she just loves tormenting him to the max. Along with Vivi, I'm not feeling sorry for him YET....but if that exercise room goes, I will be!

Gagme, eat my leftovers, you'll be poor as a mouse and maybe you can be Luciana's domestica so you can have money for your baby.
ROFLOL!!! that was great!!

-He would have never dated, gotten engaged to, and waited to the altar to dump Gala. He hates the b!tch and always saw through her.
-He would have never romanced Luci while engaged to someone else.
-He would have never let his mama or Frigida or his ex girlfriend treat her with disrespect.
-He would have never turned into a deaf, angry jealous hulk at the mere thought of Luci being friends with a man who wasn't him.
-He would have never broken his promise to her mother and had sex with her before the Church wedding, meaning Luci would not be a knocked-up single mother.
-He would have never doubted Luci's honesty and goodness just because his mama and ex showed him a non-racy picture of her working at a bar.
I could go on and on. He would have probably also have moved to Het Het instead of trying to force Luci to live in his world and they would right now be living ther doing charitable work and selling ceramics worldwide.
Perfect Karmegeddon!
In regards to Crazyeyes Rosalena, I could not make out everything she was muttering during her tea-stirring-seizure either. All I could hear was something about Luciana getting snatched up by a demon and carted off to a deep part of hell. It was all very spooky. My sister-in-law told me that Laura Flores always get roles where she is crying/ crazy because she is so good at it.
I really loved the part of this episode where Pato was comforting Luciana and he was able to lift his whole hand to lay it on her sweet raven-haired head. That was a pretty powerful moment for me. I really wish they could end up together, I love his character so very much! I hope his mother doesn't do something to him after he confronts her about Luciana's pregnancy when he goes back home.
