Amor Bravío #19 (Uni 14) Fri 8/31/12 No More Hunkerin’ Down For Hunky D'Andres Cuz The Gig Is Up—Or Is It?
Rafa asks Daniel why he gave him a fake name. Dan says he will once he has a chance, and admits it’s a relief to finally have a friend around and somebody he can confide in. Rafa wants to know why he’s working there as a farmhand in Mexico. Dan says he can’t risk it just yet. Risk what, asks Rafa? Dan gets Rafa’s address in town and promises to come see him that evening.

I am so enjoying this novela in part because there are so moments when people act intelligently. Our notario thinks to check out Dio; Pablo goes to the estate to explain the misunderstanding and Camila understands and explains to Luzma; Rafa refuses to buy the charade that Daniel is Andres; even Padre works a bit around the confessional rules to get the message out that Daniel is alive and Amanda instantly gets it.
A few cliches avoided.
On the other hand, there is the big problem of Daniel thinking that Camila is the devil incarnate. I hope that this part of the story passes quickly.
Can someone remind me of how Daniel knows that the marriage between Alonso and Camila has not been consumated? I don't recall that, but I have to admit that the ten o'clock hour sometimes means that I nod off for a moment or two. Maybe he just meant that she seems dissatisfied in a more general sense with Alonso.
Off to the wonderful discussion about cliches . . .
==========
Traveling Lady: I'm taking a break to post the first third or so of this. Daniel hid outside the bedroom window after being almost discovered by Leo and Cam. He heard her and Alonso arguing over Loco-Lonnie's "problem" and lying about seeing the therapist, if I'm not mistaken.
I am a newbie to TN. Is it common TN behavior to now have big Al-Creepy to carry out the deed, so that Cam now feels she cannot leave him?
I hope not!

My favorite lines this week are about Maja--"...our four-legged female, appears to be just as puzzled and overwhelmed by this dude’s hunkalicious physique as all two-legged ones, and she looks like she’d rather have a belly rub and a bowl of kibble from him instead. She half-heartedly barks in protest. (Give it up, girl. You’ve just bombed your guard dog orals.)"
With you TL, that ordinary people are using their heads. Miss Eliana spells trouble ahead, so Camila had better be a good go-between--and listen to her own advice, please. (Wish we didn't have two Camila's in tns so close together--I'm half expecting to see feathers and peacocks--oh, right, we've already had the peacocks).
Leonicio continues to creep me out. What is his game. He seems to covet any nubile young thing in a skirt. Any minute now I expect him to lose an eye and then his life (I know, it's more than I could hope for).
How neat is it that without lifting a finger, Danandres has found a confidant in Rafael--and someone who is already loyal (and in love) with Camila to not let Danandres harm her. Hope he keeps to that promise.
Giggling Gushing Goosey Gussie. Well said. She's over the top, but well played. I cringed along with Dio about the next step in their relationship. I bet he'll be first to pull the moral/religious issue and wants to wait until they are "married" before anything physical happens between them.
If Goosey Gussie isn't careful, she may find herself getting knocked off the road by Dora in an Explora. Can't wait to see if she accepts the logic in Dio's long-range plan.
FWIW--Driving back through NJ last week, I saw a white panel truck next to me. On the side, in blue letters it said, WAIT FOR IT--Grupo Lactos. However, they are based in Passaic and not in MEPS.
Also, has anyone else noticed that they've started running commercials for ED-related "problems" with ointments and pills? Never saw any on LQNPA, haha....

One could hardly blame him for that.
Augustina is making herself quite pathetic. Ay, dios mio.
I'm going to probably watch this again when I get back from the opera tonight. Le Comte Ory is what I need after what happened yesterday afternoon.
Just a heads' up: Effective this Monday my recaps will not be posted as quickly as previously due to website issues where we were getting the episodes. Until we find another source my first view of these episodes will be when Univision airs them and the recaps may not be quite the same as they've been for the last year. My apologies to all.
Your delightful snark continues to brighten my weekends. Anita has already mentioned two of my faves: "goosey Gushing Gussie" and "(Give it up, girl. You’ve just bombed your guard dog orals.)" I also enjoyed " (My gawd! You’d think Sonny had just made his first potty by himself!)"
Thanks to your recap, I now know that Rafael was conducting interviews. I wondered what he was doing holding what looked like a recorder when he was talking with Daniel at the ranch. I wondered whether he was in fact recording what Daniel was saying, something that certainly could come to hurt Daniel. Now I assume he's just pretending to conduct the interview...but then again....
I loved giggling Gussie all poised for a lip-smacking kiss, which each time Dionisio managed to avoid. I wonder when she'll realize she's being used. She's unlikely to take her lawyer friend seriously if/when he tries to raise doubts about her new novio. dismissing his concerns as mere jealousy. Yeah, right.
Wish we could have this hunk cross-over to one tn, maybe about an opera singer who, after being up all night with his wife in labor, delivers his own baby minutes before he has to rush to the Met to make his entrance as the hermit in Le Comte Ory.

So Dan's plan is to seduce then reveal. Except we all know he's going to fall for her in the meantime. I wonder if he can get a hold of his friend Dante to help try to clear his name while he's in Mexico.
Unless I missed something, that story hasn't been revealed yet.
Now that Rafa knows Dan's story, I want Rafa to use his god-given brain and figure out that Alonso is the bad egg here. He knows all the parties involved in this and it should be obvious.
Isa wasted her money on Aloser b/c he can't read people at all or perhaps its lack of common sense. His lie to his mother was obvi and having Daniel be his right-hand man, while important to the plot, the completely wrong choice if you are insecure about your wife's affection. The possibilities for Daniel as his assistant being "forced" to watch over Camila are endless and hilarious.
Rafa knowing Daniel is an interesting plot twist. Perhaps Rafa can contact Dante and they can work on clearly Dan.
Cindy - typically in TNs the female protagonist remains a virgin until marriage or only sleeps with her one true love. While we don't know for certain if she slept with Luis, most likely the only man she will sleep with is Daniel. She and Alonso will not consummate their marriage and w/his problem he won't be able to force himself on her.
UA - no worries about the recaps being later. We understand.
I adore him; he looks like a young Placido Domingo.
I recommend buying the DVD because the close-ups are really necessary to getting the facial expressions. He really does the "know what I mean, know what I mean, nudge nudge" thing very well and he is an excellent actor. I've seen him live in several things including Il Barbiere di Siviglia as the Count.
The dialogue stuff I've done in my recaps may have to be on hiatus until we get a new online source. This is just to notify everyone else that we should inform each other of such things via e-mail so the discussion about it is not public. I've been bothered about this for the last 24 hours.
Also, whenever you are able to post your recaps is fine with me. You shouldn't feel pressured to get them up instantly.
Most of the recappers have at least the e-mail addresses of the others on their team and there is some overlap. We can forward the info to each other.
Nobody pressures me to post immediately, but since the discussions die out when the primetime lineup of the following evening begins my goal has been to get it posted ASAP to allow for the maximum available discussion time. When I was able to get the eps online I could finish it except for the avances (which vary by country). I would add those just before posting and also do a few edits in the rest if I notice something I didn't previously or if something I'm confused about is clarified.
Question: Does anyone have an online Netflix account and if so is it possible to get novela episodes from them? Their website doesn't say.
I understand that Hulu Plus does carry these, but these are the episodes that are posted the day after they run.
Is Televisa planning to block Hulu Plus as well?
It's so ridiculous that Univision and Televisa do this. Do they honestly think that they are going to lose that much revenue?!
What is the name of this character who owns Televisa...the one who is considered one of the richest men in the world...these men who have such control over simple things are jerks.
Like Juanita, I do not mean this question in any antagonistic way, but if only you recappers are sharing the information about online viewing sources, how does this help the rest of us?
It is so frustrating not to be able to watch these soaps. Believe it or not, not all of us have access to satellite or cable. Univision does not even put up the capitulos for Amor Bravio. They have everything else up there, but not this one. They do insert commercials into all of the online episodes, so I hardly see how they are missing out on their pesos.
Oh well...I'm just one frustrated Anon.
So if Televisa and Univision are reading here, they may see our recommendations to each other for sites that have the episodes online? Is that what you are referring to?
If Univision isn't putting up Amor Bravio on Hulu it could be that they don't have the digital rights to it. Those are negotiated separately from the broadcast rights. Their relationship with Televisa will be interesting when their current contract expires in 2017 because Televisa will certainly demand much mas dinero for the rebroadcast rights.
I just checked my Lo Mejor On Demand (Time Warner Cable) and it only has two episodes of AM on it: The one I did last week that started with El Diablo in the parlour and the other is the one when Daniel was sneaking around in the dark on La Malquerida. The latest episode it has of PESE is #19.
None of which affects the recappers' ability to see episodes before they air here, which helps us do this job better.
My apologies to Jardinera for accidentally hijacking this discussion. I promise it won't happen again.
I can't remember from the beginning of this TN either if Rafa was visiting with Dan in Chile in the jail. I'm too lazy to go back and check the earlier episodes to see if he was.
I'm guessing that Padre dies since he is figuring everything out, as per the TN rule for those who figure things out in the earlier part of a TN. We see Leoncio pointing a gun at him in the intro. At least Dan will have Rafa on his side.
Alonso making Dan his right hand man will be interesting. Alonso working closely with a smarter, way more handsome guy, what could backfire?
It is not likely that it would be Dan-o's having given him an interview from his jail cell, even an exclusive to try and get his innocence out to the public. I think this thing Dan-o did which earned him Rafa's undying loyalty will be revealed somewhere down the line.
Anita
Urban Anthropologist, I need your email address so I can help you. I won't post my source here. I have downloaded up to episode 130 in my hard drive. No I have not seen anything beyond the current episode. It takes about a day or 2 to download about a hundred episodes. Just downloaded Sortilegio last week.
Ibarramedia
And speaking of FELS, wasn't Malquerida the name of the club where Rosario wiggled her rear to "Bombon Asesino"?
Great recap, Jardinera! Thanks again.
Anon, please join this group with Google ID first. I will allow my e-mail address to show then. I don't download because I got a Trojan invasion the last time I tried. Maybe we can work out something with an FTP protocol. What player do these need?
OT, the discussion re novela plot lines made me realize how seasoned players like Sylvia N and Salinas can push the writers/producers to tweak the characters to give them more substance and character, instead of playing the old damsel- in- distress or beauty/beast relationships.

"Mena: I'd say people lurk mostly and either don't want to, don't have the time, or just don't feel the need to comment. That's fine with me, tho'. "
I would love to comment more often. But AB is on at 10 PM and I have to be at work at 6 AM. So I don't see the show until the next day and by then, everyone else has said everything I want to say.
really sorry to see the "pirated" stuff gone! i was looking forward to seeing en el nombre del amor for the cute guy in the lead role. i want to see pasion one day too, but i'm guessing that will show up on re-runs some day.
