Amor Bravío #19 (Uni 14) Fri 8/31/12 No More Hunkerin’ Down For Hunky D'Andres Cuz The Gig Is Up—Or Is It?
Capítulo 19
We begin as Camila, Agustina and Padre Baldomero begin chatting about what they know of the aforementioned Daniel Diaz Acosto. Cami and Gussie tell Padre B. it’s not much. Eager to eavesdrop as a matter of self-preservation and self-interest, meanwhile, Daniel sneaks in through the backdoor past Maja. Maja, our four-legged female, appears to be just as puzzled and overwhelmed by this dude’s hunkalicious physique as all two-legged ones, and she looks like she’d rather have a belly rub and a bowl of kibble from him instead. She half-heartedly barks in protest. (Give it up, girl. You’ve just bombed your guard dog orals.) As Daniel surreptitiously enters to hide in the shadows, Gussy explains to father Baldomero that Lic. Becerra is formally requesting DDA be declared legally dead, having most probably drowned in the ocean, so that Cami can take proper possession of the ranch. Padre B gets visibly upset, telling them they cannot do that since…DDA is alive!! Padre Baldo’s riveting revelations have Camila and Agustina furrow-browed impactada, which is to say, emotionally reeling. D’Andres is disgusted with the padre for racing to the hacienda to spill the frijoles so fast. Cami demands an explanation.
In town, Licenciado Becerra starts a background investigation of Dionisio Ferrer, whose name sounds familiar but whom he cannot place.
Gussie immediately gripes about “el bastardo ese” and gets grief from Cam. “--Enough already, Mama! Don’t talk like that about him. I’ve told you; he’s my cousin!” She turns back to PB and asks why he’s telling them this. He’s going on a hunch is all, says Padre, but he thinks it smart to hire a P.I. to find out if DDA might actually be innocent of everything the authorities have accused him of. Gussie disagrees, saying with a self-assured, small-minded sneer that he wouldn’t be in jail if he weren’t guilty! Padre insists someone might have set a trap for him. Dan breathes a sigh of relief. Who, why and how, asks Cami, since they hadn’t even known of his existence till the will was read, let alone not having a single picture of him! There is not a single record of him, adds Gussie. With all that’s happened, and him in jail, Cam naively asks the priest why would anyone need to set a trap? Dan answers her with a silent thought: “—to keep it all for themselves, Camila!” (Obiously, Dan isn’t exactly convinced that Cam’s naivety isn’t a big act for the padre’s benefit.)
Meanwhile, at Hacienda La Buenaventura across the way, Pablo and Mariano greet their daddy’s business associate and his family.
Back at La Malquerida, Padre isn’t finished pleading DDA’s case yet. He explains DDA might have escaped from prison to look for proof on his own. Why this change of heart, asks Cam? Padre says something just doesn’t fit [algo no embona] and it’s been nagging at him this whole time. Cam says even if both she and he do feel that he is innocent, it’s the Chileans that sentenced him. Even so, Baldomero says, what would you do if he suddenly appeared here, a fugitive from the law, and swore before Dios that he was innocent? Gussie answers that she doesn’t give two centavos for the word of a fugitive from the law! Anyway, why or how would he happen to do that, asks Cami? “--All things are possible,” says Padre. Cam says personally, she is tired of everything dragging out forever like this. “--I’d just as soon have the darned death certificate in my hand and get this thing put to bed once and for all, so I can take possession of the place!” Mama and Cami are totally tracking mentally on this one. Gussie smiles broadly at her daughter.
Over at La Buenaventura, Mariano has to leave to visit somebody named Ana. Pablo is told to take Don Alberto’s redheaded teenaged daughter, eager Eliana, into town and show her around so she doesn’t get bored.
D’Andres runs into Natalia and she notes he’s in a rotten mood. She reminds him she told him to take the job with Lic. Becerra. He says even though his job here at the M.Q. sucks, this is where he has to be and walks back to check on those surveyors.
Alonso, meanwhile, pays a visit to Mama. Lon-loco is very chipper this morning. Isadora wonders if it has anything to do with a marital reconciliation. Sure does! Mama-Dora is thrilled! Ok, she smiles and asks, so then--and Viewerville perks up its ears cuz we all want to know the answer to this one—if Loco Lonnie and Cami are reconciled, does that mean they actually did the deed and consummated the marriage???? Lon-loco gets upset with Mami-dearest for sticking her nose into his personal bidnez and objects to discussing things in such detail with her; however, he says, if it makes her feel any better, they have. (Viewerville is majorly bummed. Say it ain’t so! This goes against sound telenovela canon!) Mama-Dora is elated and smothers Alonso with exuberant hugs and kisses. (My gawd! You’d think Sonny had just made his first potty by himself!)
Back at the M.Q., Piedad and Luzma are sorting black beans or something. Why isn’t Luzma taking the opportunity of Tio Leoncio’s being away to spend time away with her friend or whatever? He’s got visitors and can’t get away. No matter, it’s quiet around there without Tio the Terrible grouching around, she says. Piedad demands Luzma speak about her uncle in a more respectful tone. Why, asks Luzma? She suggests a change for the two of them. “--It’s time we start thinking about ourselves. This isn’t the only cook’s job in the area, you know.” Other ranchos would be happy to hire her mama, like los Alberrán for instance. Piedad says she’s loyal to the owners at the M.Q. and to do anything like that would be wicked and disrespectful! Frustrated, Luzma--along with Viewerville--does a little head-shaking here. They’d get along so well, says Luzma, if Mama didn’t favor Tio over her! She scoots out the door, leaving Piedad to take time for a much needed mull-over.
Outside, D/Andres takes a break to momentarily watch Cami brushing down the bulls in a stall. She notices him lallygagging and asks him to get back to work. “—As you say, Sra. You’re the one in charge here.”
Rafa asks Daniel why he gave him a fake name. Dan says he will once he has a chance, and admits it’s a relief to finally have a friend around and somebody he can confide in. Rafa wants to know why he’s working there as a farmhand in Mexico. Dan says he can’t risk it just yet. Risk what, asks Rafa? Dan gets Rafa’s address in town and promises to come see him that evening.
Licenciado Becerra, meanwhile, looks over his secretary’s report on Dio but sees nothing compromising. She mentions he is a developer of tourist areas. Suddenly it hits him that the guy tried offering to buy La Malquerida from Don Daniel for that reason, but Don Daniel had turned him down flat. No, he’s never met him personally. Now, isn’t it odd that the guy is hanging around with Alonso, though the two men have nothing in common, and is also breaking bread with the rest of Don Daniel’s heirs? No doubt he’s interested in proposing the same thing to them, right?
At the same time, Padre B. hits up Amanda at the B&B for a glass of water and a bit of company. What’s up, asks Amanda? The padre says he’s going to ask her a question and wants a totally honest answer. Knowing Agata the way she did, from the letters she wrote her and the way she described things, would she stake her life on DDA’s innocence? Absolutely she would! What’s more, something horrible must have happened for him to have been accused of all that! Padre is ecstatic with the answer. Why the question, Amanda wants to know. Padre says a number of the people at La Malquerida are eager to lock him up and throw away the key and he would rather they didn’t misjudge him without ever having given him the benefit of the doubt. (Whoohoo! This padre is actually thinking outside the telenovela-rule-box and is apparently an activist!! Guess old Baldo’s not happy merely to sit on his haunches, observing as the innocents in his faithful flock unjustly suffer for years on end! He’s given a whole new meaning to the term “Caped Crusader” and done a regular end-run around the rules of the confessional twice!) Amanda asks if he’s got any news regarding Daniel at this point, trying to do a quick bit of 2+2, but the padre races off and says they’ll talk later.
Rafael and Viviana have driven back to the MQ to continue with a few interviews since Rafa apparently erased the ones he’d done the day before. Viv stays to chat with Cami while Rafa races out to the pastures to look for Rodolfo. She notices the bouquet of roses immediately. Cam says Al gave them to her as as part of their deciding to get back together again. “--OH, so that means you’ve…er…managed to do ‘it’?” No, says Cami a bit embarrassed, they’re taking it slowly, bit by bit. Viv lets her know she’s not thrilled with Cami’s decision. Why? Because, says Viv, Cami is thinking and reacting with her head rather than her heart still in this relationship. She thinks that’s why Camila married the guy in the first place. She can’t be happy in the end.
Just the opposite is happening to Pablo and Luzma, however. Luzma’s friend points out Pablo and the redhead he’s spending time with on the other end of the plaza. Luzma races over and gives Pablo what for and how to. Poor dude can’t get a word in edgewise and tries explaining that she’s the daughter of the business associate he told her about. Eliana sneers back and asks who the “little girl” is. Pablo explains she is his girlfriend. Luzma spits back she was and races off, not willing to listen to a word his has to say in rational defense of his…er…compromising situation. Eliana can’t believe Pablo would lower himself to running after someone from the lower classes. She’s sure his parents would never approve of such a relationship with…a…a…maid! He can’t--and doesn’t bother to--argue the point.
At the same time, our silver-tongued snake, the devilish and deliciously deep-voiced Dionisio has brought goosey Gushing Gussie to his place to declare his…uh…romantic interest in her. He begins seducing the giggling Gussie with his eyes and kisses her fingertips--as he’s hard pressed to be able to convince himself to do anything much more! Gussie giggles and closes her eyes, waiting for the consummating mack on the lips that never quite comes.
Back on the town plaza, Pablo tries defending his feelings for Luzma. Eliana doesn’t buy it. She goes straight to the heart of the matter: he may care for her but if he really were unashamed of the girl and where she comes from, he’d have introduced her to his parents by now. (She aims, she shoots, and she strikes a bulls-eye!) Pablo suffers another brain-freeze, helpless to defend against Eliana’s reliably snooty and rather articulate response.
Dio is still putting the moves on Gussie. She demurely protests and says she hadn’t thought of getting involved again after her bad luck with love. Dio, in between furtive eye-rolls and choked-back gags, swears his intentions are honorable and promises to declare them to her family ASAP!
Out on the back forty, Rafa races over to a group of people trying to get directions or something and recognizes one of the group as Daniel. “—Don’t you remember me? I’m Rafael Quintana, the writer!” Rodolfo shows up. Daniel swallows hard and stalls for time. Rafael greets him as if they were old buddies—and Dan looks like the gig is up for real, this time. Dan says no, he’s Andres Duarte but doesn’t look Rafa in the eyes. Somehow Rafa mind-melds with him and miraculously gets the message to back off. “--Sorry, I must have confused you with somebody else. Er, I was looking for Rodolfo.” D’Andres says there he is and excuses himself, then walks off with the surveyors. Rodolfo says no biggy, it could happen to anybody.
In town again, Luzma’s friend says she could have told her; rich boys just use girls like them. She can cry it out, but hey hold her head up and forget the guy even exists. She thought he’d be different, says Luzma in between sobs. It won’t be easy because she’s got it bad for him.
Pablo is now racing back to the hacienda with Eliana mouthing off in the passenger seat. “--Obviously you like the native girls [autóctono/a], huh?” He’s in no mood to talk and tells her as much.
Rafa goes through the motions re-taping the interview with Rodolfo. After they’ve finished he asks Rod to get him an interview with the guy he just met, Andres. Rod says he’ll try, tho’ the guy is still busy with the assayers/surveyors.
Padre Baldomero leaves some kid with dry-cleaning waiting for any tall young guy named Daniel to show up. “--Tell him I won’t be long and not to move from here under any circumstances!” FF>>

Inside the main house, Cami tells Viv that she may not be happy with what she’s told her, but she has to admit Viv’s right, that her relationship with Al began that way. (I’d call it him playing head games with her and those really haven’t stopped even yet.) Just then who walks in and sucks up all the oxygen in the air but Mama-Dora. Cami introduces her MIL to Viv and Rafa a moment later, but the woman makes it clear she’s not interested in socializing with them. They excuse themselves and Cami walks them to their car. D’Andres watches from behind some trees on the other side of the huge drive. Once the car has driven off, he walks out from the trees and again stares at her seductively when she chances to notice--and return the favor, methinks! Once she’s in the house Dan laughs at how easily she’s falling for him and his act.
Pablo drops off Eliana and tells her he’s got to leave for a few minutes. “--To go running after her?” Sorry, says Pablo, but he won’t allow her or anyone to speak disrespectfully of Luzma. She apologizes but adds she still doesn’t understand why he’d do such a thing. Pablo politely excuses himself and heads out the door.
Outside the MQ’s kitchen, Piedad sees Luzma crying and is worried she’s come home pregnant and abandoned by that boyfriend of hers. Luzma insists nothing like that has happened and the just because it happened to her mama, it doesn’t necessarily mean the same will happen to her.
In the living room, Cami tries being conversational and polite to her MIL. Isadora, though, doesn’t apparently trust what Lonnie told her. She tries edging her way around to getting at the truth about whether the deed was done or not bringing up the idea of having grandchildren in no time. Cam sidles around that and says it’s not in their plans anytime soon. Gussie comes racing in just then all giggly and mentions that Dio wants them to be officially going steady. Dora is ready to breathe fire through both nostrils and roast Gussie alive, but manages to mask it with a frozen smile. Cam and Gussie both start giggling like a couple of schoolgirls.
Speaking of schoolgirls, Luzma sees Pablo’s truck racing up the drive. She runs into the house. He tells Rodolfo that he’s there for Sra. Camila.
Out in the back forty again, the head assayer tells them they’ll break for the day and asks D’Andres what he’s doing there as a cowboy since it’s obvious he’s been well-educated. Dan doesn’t have a chance to answer because Loco-Lon comes walking up to them. The head surveyor praises the help they received from D’Andres. So, Lon takes him aside and offers to train him to be his right-hand man [hombre de confianza] on the hacienda since the others there are all short on brains if big on brawn. (Dan’s definitely got the best of both worlds, IMNSHO, je-je.) Of course, D’andres promises he’ll “take care of this property as if it were my own.”
Pablo has a chance to explain to La Sra. Camila about the misunderstanding between him and Luzma and why. He says since she’s supposed to be a sort of go-between [celestina] for them, he thought she might be able to make Luzma listen and understand. She pretends to take the situation very seriously and gives him a hard time, eventually agreeing to help him out of his jam.
Later that evening, Dan makes it over to Rafa’s place. They hug like brothers and kid about what a change for Dan playing vaquero (cowboy) there. Dan asks if Rafa has met Camila Monterde. Sure, says Rafa and explains her friendship with his photographer, Viviana and how they’re all great friends. Rafa is anxious to know what in the world is going on. Dan begins by saying that his life is ruined, and he’s come to Mexico to try to rebuild it.
Meanwhile, Cam has a girl-to-girl chat with Luzma over Pablo. Luzma wonders if Cam has ever had a love that came straight from the heart. Cami remembers back to the wonderfully happy times she had while she was with Luis. Yep, she knows exactly that kind of loving relationship, she tells Luzma. “--So don’t be jealous for no good reason and give him a chance to explain.” Luzma thanks her for being so supportive.
At Rafa’s place again, Dan tells his story and says he has no idea what hell his life has been. Rafa is amazed that in such a short time his mother, Miriam and their baby are all dead. “--What, hasn’t Camila told you all about this?” Nope, not a word. Sure, sneers Dan, because to the whole world she is the only heir to La Malquerida! Dan then asks Rafa if he can count on him since nobody there knows it’s him or why he’s come except for the local priest and him—and the priest is bound by the rules of the confessional. “—I’m here without papers and I’m a fugitive from the law in my own country. If they find out I’m here I’ll be sent back to jail immediately.” “—But if you’re innocent….” Dan smiles at his friend. “—You’re the first one to believe automatically in my innocence.” Rafa asks what he can do to help.
Dan tells Rafa that he needs information from Camila since she is the only one who knows why and how things happened like they did. Rafa says he will never forget what he did for him back in Chile so of course he will do everything he can to help him out. There’s another brotherly bear hug.
Meanwhile, Cami is in the bathroom taking a bubble bath when hubby arrives and walks in on her, totally disturbing her chi. He gets a horn-doggy look (better than the hang-doggy thingy we’ve been used to lately) in his eyes. “—You look sooooo lovely!” Cara de Ruh-roh de Camila!
Rafa tells Dan that calculating and cold is not the Camila Monterde that he knows (and loves). Dan says he must be mistaken because she’s the only one responsible for what happened to him! “—She’s said herself she would do anything for La Malquerida!” Sure, says Rafa, but obviously in the proper, decent sense. “—I believe that when you confront her and she realizes who you really are, you’ll see that your impression of her will change.” Dan says but she won’t find out who he really is, at least not until it’s too late! What is he talking about, asks Rafa? “—Camila has a point of vulnerability. She’s an unsatisfied woman. I’m going to seduce her, to make her fall in love, and when I have her in the palm of my hands, I’ll make her pay for everything she has done!” No, says Rafa, and stares Dan straight in the eye. “--I won’t allow you to touch her!”

I would love to comment more often. But AB is on at 10 PM and I have to be at work at 6 AM. So I don't see the show until the next day and by then, everyone else has said everything I want to say.

I am so enjoying this novela in part because there are so moments when people act intelligently. Our notario thinks to check out Dio; Pablo goes to the estate to explain the misunderstanding and Camila understands and explains to Luzma; Rafa refuses to buy the charade that Daniel is Andres; even Padre works a bit around the confessional rules to get the message out that Daniel is alive and Amanda instantly gets it.
A few cliches avoided.
On the other hand, there is the big problem of Daniel thinking that Camila is the devil incarnate. I hope that this part of the story passes quickly.
Can someone remind me of how Daniel knows that the marriage between Alonso and Camila has not been consumated? I don't recall that, but I have to admit that the ten o'clock hour sometimes means that I nod off for a moment or two. Maybe he just meant that she seems dissatisfied in a more general sense with Alonso.
Off to the wonderful discussion about cliches . . .

Traveling Lady -- the day that Daniel got into town and stake out LMQ; he was able to sneak into the house and listened to the big fight between Alonso and Camila -- they showed this part in flashback when Camila was somewhat nasty to him afte he gotten the job.

Thanks, Anon and Jardinera. I'm recalling that now. The welcome level of activity and the ten o'clock hour are challenging my aging brain cells. For his height, Daniel sure has made his way around the hacienda clandestinely.

With you TL, that ordinary people are using their heads. Miss Eliana spells trouble ahead, so Camila had better be a good go-between--and listen to her own advice, please. (Wish we didn't have two Camila's in tns so close together--I'm half expecting to see feathers and peacocks--oh, right, we've already had the peacocks).
Leonicio continues to creep me out. What is his game. He seems to covet any nubile young thing in a skirt. Any minute now I expect him to lose an eye and then his life (I know, it's more than I could hope for).
How neat is it that without lifting a finger, Danandres has found a confidant in Rafael--and someone who is already loyal (and in love) with Camila to not let Danandres harm her. Hope he keeps to that promise.

If Goosey Gussie isn't careful, she may find herself getting knocked off the road by Dora in an Explora. Can't wait to see if she accepts the logic in Dio's long-range plan.
FWIW--Driving back through NJ last week, I saw a white panel truck next to me. On the side, in blue letters it said, WAIT FOR IT--Grupo Lactos. However, they are based in Passaic and not in MEPS.
Also, has anyone else noticed that they've started running commercials for ED-related "problems" with ointments and pills? Never saw any on LQNPA, haha....

Cindy--if he forces himself on Cami, the gig is up for him. Cami would leave him. But I don't think even with his purient looks at her will he be able to get his gig up long enough to cumplir the acto.

I'm going to probably watch this again when I get back from the opera tonight. Le Comte Ory is what I need after what happened yesterday afternoon.

Just a heads' up: Effective this Monday my recaps will not be posted as quickly as previously due to website issues where we were getting the episodes. Until we find another source my first view of these episodes will be when Univision airs them and the recaps may not be quite the same as they've been for the last year. My apologies to all.

Thanks to your recap, I now know that Rafael was conducting interviews. I wondered what he was doing holding what looked like a recorder when he was talking with Daniel at the ranch. I wondered whether he was in fact recording what Daniel was saying, something that certainly could come to hurt Daniel. Now I assume he's just pretending to conduct the interview...but then again....

UA, I totally agree that Alonso wasn't telling the Dragon Lady (aka Mama) the truth about his doing the deed. His body language and expression when she gave him a congratulatory hug made that pretty clear. He just wanted her to get off his case.
UA--was the Count en vivo or the Met's HD version with Peruvian heartthrob, Juan Diego Florez?????

Thanks Jardinera, I laughed over the Agustina/Dion scenes. Since it was obvious what they were talking about, I ff through them but the look of rapture on Aggie's face was still there to see. Obviously it's been too long since she's been with a man, she's easy prey.

BTW Jardinera, thanx for the funny recap. I especially liked the Dio and Agustina scenes and then Isavibora's face when Agustina came home to tell Cami she and Dionisio would be novios. LOL. All the little face muscles went on high alert for Isa. BTW, I must have missed something in the beginning, but how does the real Danny know Raffie from Chile?

Jardinera thanks for the recap. Your theme of Daniel's hunkyness overwhelming so many was funny. I did enjoy his realization that Camila was falling for him. CdlF can't look truly sinister (to me at least) so it was clear that while he might have the upper hand now he's going to fall hard and fast for Camila.
Isa wasted her money on Aloser b/c he can't read people at all or perhaps its lack of common sense. His lie to his mother was obvi and having Daniel be his right-hand man, while important to the plot, the completely wrong choice if you are insecure about your wife's affection. The possibilities for Daniel as his assistant being "forced" to watch over Camila are endless and hilarious.

Anita, it was the plazacast of the HD appearance from last season. This opera will be given in January with Juan Diego Florez again in the title role.
I adore him; he looks like a young Placido Domingo.
I recommend buying the DVD because the close-ups are really necessary to getting the facial expressions. He really does the "know what I mean, know what I mean, nudge nudge" thing very well and he is an excellent actor. I've seen him live in several things including Il Barbiere di Siviglia as the Count.
The dialogue stuff I've done in my recaps may have to be on hiatus until we get a new online source. This is just to notify everyone else that we should inform each other of such things via e-mail so the discussion about it is not public. I've been bothered about this for the last 24 hours.

UA, I've got two questions. You suggest that people inform each other via email--is there some way to find out people's email addresses? Also, what's the problem with sharing this info publicly on CarayCaray? I'm not asking this in a belligerent way--I'm just trying to understand.

Cathyx: I guess I didn't remember either, but was there a scene where in jail Dan tried getting his story out and it was Rafa who went there to get that story? Am I imagining this scene? I thought he was only referred to at the time as "a writer". So much happened the first week of this tn and I've been watching so many that they're all starting to run together! LOL!

If Univision isn't putting up Amor Bravio on Hulu it could be that they don't have the digital rights to it. Those are negotiated separately from the broadcast rights. Their relationship with Televisa will be interesting when their current contract expires in 2017 because Televisa will certainly demand much mas dinero for the rebroadcast rights.
I just checked my Lo Mejor On Demand (Time Warner Cable) and it only has two episodes of AM on it: The one I did last week that started with El Diablo in the parlour and the other is the one when Daniel was sneaking around in the dark on La Malquerida. The latest episode it has of PESE is #19.
None of which affects the recappers' ability to see episodes before they air here, which helps us do this job better.

I'm guessing that Padre dies since he is figuring everything out, as per the TN rule for those who figure things out in the earlier part of a TN. We see Leoncio pointing a gun at him in the intro. At least Dan will have Rafa on his side.

Jar--What Rafa said to Dan during the meeting and man-hug scene is that he would never forget what he (Dan) did for him in Chile.
It is not likely that it would be Dan-o's having given him an interview from his jail cell, even an exclusive to try and get his innocence out to the public. I think this thing Dan-o did which earned him Rafa's undying loyalty will be revealed somewhere down the line.

UA, In order to not highjack the blog, if you have any useful leads to "assist us bloggers" in doing our job can you find a way to communicate it offline with the blog team? email or telepathy would be ok (jkg). Thanxx much... my only side note is that this blog probably brings more viewers into the primetime showings and pulls people who have left the viewing back into the show... too bad Uni and/or Tele doesn't get that!
OT:Removing most of the online stuff has nothing to do with viewership and revenue. It is simply a copyright issue. No different than like what napster did with music. If someone fills out a copyright protest, youtube and other such sites remove the "offending " video. There are literally billions of videos now floating around that sometimes they can't keep up with policing.

Thanks, Jardinera! I'll leave the technical copyright issues for the moment and just say that Dan's plan for Camila sounds a lot like Juan's plan for Sofia in FELS. He blamed Sofia's family for the death of his sister, and was determined to make them all pay! But in this case, I don't really think revenge is in Dan's nature, not even a little, so it doesn't make sense to me. I can understand his being secretive for now, and maybe not trusting Camila, in order to protect his freedom. But even if she were the cause of all his problems (and if he's believing that for the moment, fair enough), I doubt he'd hang around for the purpose of getting revenge. Even if he decided he wanted to stay at Malquerida, I think he would find a way to politely ask Camila to leave.
And speaking of FELS, wasn't Malquerida the name of the club where Rosario wiggled her rear to "Bombon Asesino"?

Thanks all for the recaps and comments. I thought that I was the one doing something wrong when my normal viewing sites would not cooperate. Then I figured that the problem stemmed from the Megaupload take- down, along with affiliated sites. This is my addiction and I need my novela fix !!
OT, the discussion re novela plot lines made me realize how seasoned players like Sylvia N and Salinas can push the writers/producers to tweak the characters to give them more substance and character, instead of playing the old damsel- in- distress or beauty/beast relationships.

Yola: It's definitely up to the big stars to do the pushing but perhaps it's also a matter of culture since these are generally formulaic, melodramatic morality plays and certain responses are to be expected. As for the acting/overacting at times it is hard to know IMNSHO whether it's the director or the actor or the genre that makes us want to roll our eyes and giggle so often.

I would love to comment more often. But AB is on at 10 PM and I have to be at work at 6 AM. So I don't see the show until the next day and by then, everyone else has said everything I want to say.

Sue455: hey there! Sorry, I wasn't thinking along those lines, but you are totally correct! I guess I figured that's part of the don't have time thing. LOL! I absolutely hate this 10PM thing myself, having lived most of my life in the Central Time Zone. Much of the time I find myself dozing off and watching the parts I missed early the next morning on my vcr (literally my vcr!) to keep up.
regarding netflix and telenovelas, the access is limited to those in mexico. there may be a way to get around that if you can sign in with a foreign vpn, but it sounds like a big hassle.
really sorry to see the "pirated" stuff gone! i was looking forward to seeing en el nombre del amor for the cute guy in the lead role. i want to see pasion one day too, but i'm guessing that will show up on re-runs some day.
