Abismo de pasión #140 9/28/12: Gosh, I Hate Coming Up With Titles, but Here Goes: I HATE Ex-Padres Ascot and other of my OCD OBSERVATIONS

Casa de Don Lucio:  Eliar, who stole Gall from Paloma, tells Paloma that Gall should have kept his pecker in his pants and not slept with Paloma (especially since he didn’t love her).  Outraged that Gall did not remain faithful to her during their engagement, Eliar points out that Gall didn’t realize how much he was hurting Paloma and he doesn’t deserve their forgiveness.  Eliar begs Paloma not to leave town because Gall will be in Paloma’s heart where ever she lives.  She can’t run away from her feelings.  Paloma tells Eliar that she can’t be near Gall because it hurts too much.  Eliar swears to Paloma that Gall will not hurt Paloma again.   Paloma says that she has to leave and hurries out of the door.  Dolores, who has been listening to the conversation, tells Elisa that Paloma hasn’t told them everything.
Yucateco:  The office is empty except for Enrique and Carito, the receptionist.  Enrique tells Carito that she looks bad (no wonder he can’t keep a woman), she’s skinny and she needs to eat.  Enrique’s going to get a bite to eat; he invites her out with him.  Carito grabs her purse, but almost faints on the way out.  Enrique catches her before she hits the floor.  She tells him that she hasn’t been feeling well lately since she’s been doing all of the work at Yucateco.  Between Enrique’s love life, Braulio trying to carry Dolores’ milk, Elisa getting kidnapped, Gall going crazy and Don Lucio’s Tostacho parties, she’s had to put in a lot of overtime.  She’s heard of “my girl Friday”, but this is ridiculous!  Enrique offers to take her to his father for a check-up.  Carito believes that she simply lacks vitamins.  Enrique tells her to take the tomorrow off.  Why don’t they just close down the plant?  Nobody has time to work!
Plaza:  Braulio and Dolores are strolling through the park.  On this occasion, Dolores is wearing the sexiest white muumuu in her closet and Braulio has taken notice.  As always, Dolores is worried about Elisa.  She asks Braulio if he knows that Dam Fine and Gall are brothers.  Braulio says that everyone in town is talking about it.  When Ex-Padre made the revelation, there were only four people present.  I wonder which Kravitz took the show on the road?  Braulio thinks it’s awful that one brother grew up with everything and the other grew up with nothing.  Dolores says it was their destiny and destiny doesn’t always give good things.  Braulio uses this opportunity to pull out his sympathy card (he still hasn’t figured out that her milk is already in the bag; all he has to do is pick it up).  Braulio understands Gael.  All of his life, Braulio thought he’d have a family and son.  When the marriage ended, he had nothing.  Dolores agrees and trumps him with a sympathy card of her own.  She reminds him that fate tore them apart.  Braulio reminds her that fate also brought them back together.  After both affirm their love for one another; they make out in public.
Hospital Merida:  Dam and Ex-Padre (wearing and ugly ascot) are in the waiting room.  Damien feels that the family is paying for past sins because everything bad is happening all at once.  Basically Ex-Padre tells him that everything is in God’s hands and we’ll never understand it.  God’s decisions are unbreakable.  The surgeon comes out and reports that the open heart surgery was a complete success.   Alfonsina was placed in intensive care.  Damien will have to wait a couple of hours before he can see his mother.  Alfonsina is not yet breathing on her own and she still is hooked up to tubes.  Damien asks if he can be with his mother when she wakes up so that he can cuss her out some more.  The doctor said that she’s drugged up and will not be awake until tomorrow.  Damien tells his uncle to go home and get some rest.  Gabby secretly stands in the background and listens in on their conversation.
Witch Mountain:  Ramona wants to know what Paloma told Eliar.  Get to the point.  Did you tell her the truth?  Paloma tells her grandmother that Elisa knows that Paloma was a terrible friend by sleeping with Elisa’s fiancé.  Huh?  Has Paloma forgotten that Elisa stole Gall from her?  Whatever!  Ramona wants to know if Paloma told Elisa that she’s preggers.  No, because Eliar Kravitz would have blabbed to Gall.  Paloma is adamant that Gall not know about the baby.  Paloma says that Gall doesn’t deserve to know that he has a son.  Ramona tells Paloma that she wants to punish Gall because Paloma was his booty call.  Ramona blames Paloma and tells her that she can’t keep the baby away from its father.  Paloma reminds Ramona that she’s kept Paloma away from hers.  Matter of fact, Paloma doesn’t even know his name.  Paloma is simply doing what Ramona has already done.
Casa de Gall and Eliar (had Eliar not deliberately tempted Damien into kidnapping her according to Damien and Alfonsina’s version of the story):  Elisa slaps Galls lips off, which is a shame because he has very pretty lips.  Eliar demands to know how Gall could sleep with Paloma.  Eliar is pissed because Gall didn’t have the guts to tell her that he had boinked Paloma.  Eliar is outraged that he hurt Paloma.  Gall knew that Paloma has loved him since they were kids.  Eliar had nothing to do with Paloma’s pain even though she stole her boyfriend.  Gall says that Paloma threw herself at him and he couldn’t resist her ummm charms.  I’m a man!  It’s what we do! Elisa tells him that they are done.  Lose her number and Paloma’s.  He will never get a whiff of either one of them again.
Intensive Care (Alfonsina’s Room):  An RN escorts Damien into the room.  As soon as the RN leaves, Damien, who last week required antibiotics, removes his surgical masks so that he can spread his germs all over the room.  He moves closer to his mother so that he can infect her with the ebola virus.  He tells Alfonsina that he will not leave her.  He acknowledges that he should hate her for ruining his life and taking away his brother.  He coughs up some phlegm and tells her to relax because Elisa is marrying Gall.  Damien leaves the room and goes out into the hall.  Neither Damien nor the nurse, notice Gabby (wearing street clothes) standing in the background reviewing patient files at the nurse’s station.
Casa de Castanon:  Carmina is freaked out because she’s all alone.  Gabby calls and tells her not to hold dinner for him.  He’s in Merida and won’t be home until tomorrow.  He tells her that Alfonsina is in intensive care.  Carmina says that Alfonsina can go to hell.   After hanging up the phone, Carmina has a flashback of the day her sister died.  Carmina tells cute little Elisa that her mother died.  Suddenly, Alfonsina appears and tells Elisa that she will never see her mother again.  Alfonsina blames Estefania for her husband’s death.  Back in the present, Carmina says that she has to get rid of the house because it has too many bad memories.
Casa de Don Lucio (dissolve, mix and grill):  Don Lucio learns to cook during a product placement for oil.  He practically makes out with Dolores when they switch the apron.  Dolores teaches him to cook a chicken soup.  Like I have time for this.
Cantina:  An employee almost passes out at the office.   You’re her boss.  What should you do?  Enrique takes her to the cantina to get her drunk.  Oh come on, she was drinking Bailey’s Irish Crème in that jumbo coffee cup.  I’m not stupid.  After they finish their liquid dinner, Enrique suggests that she visit the clinic where his father works.   She thanks him for the free dinner, and mentally congratulates herself for still being able to get a free meal out of a man at her age.  What a cougar!  And all she had to do was fake a little faint in order to get it.  Enrique wants to get to know her better.  She’s got a daughter who lives in Mexico City.  Enrique asks if she has a husband.  Hmmmmmmm.  Sounds as if Enrique is coming on to her.  Carito brings up Paloma.  Enrique says that Paloma is not interested in him.  He’s always running after girls who don’t love him, he says.
Church:  Gall is literally throwing a “Hail Mary” pass.  He’s down on his knees asking God to help him get Elisa back.  Padre comes in and touches his shoulder.  Seriously, can’t Ex-Padre wear the priest collar until we can get him a tie?  That ascot is horrendous and I will not be able to concentrate on anything else until this has been resolved.
Witch Mountain:  Ramona is trying to get Paloma to drink some tea when Elisa enters the room.  Elisa tells Paloma, that she told Gall, that he’s a coward for not telling Elisa that he slept with the girl that Elisa stole him from.  According to Elisa, this is clearly ALL of Gall’s fault for hurting Paloma.  Paloma tells Elisa that it’s not all of his fault.  Paloma was willing to accept partial blame unlike some people.  Ramona believes that Paloma was at fault.  Ramona points out that Paloma acted like a skank and let a man use her like a piece of toilet paper in the name of love.  Ramona tells Elisa that Paloma doesn’t regret it.  Paloma agrees.  “Gall put a move on me that blew my mind!”, said Paloma as she rubbed her chest.  She loves everything about Gall.  He’s in her heart, her blood and in the air that she breathes.  Geez!  I don’t know if I want to meet a man that has me acting like that after one hot encounter.  In order to get the focus off of her part of the scandal (she does need to have a witch and witch in training mad at her), Elisa Kravitz repeats everything Gall said to her.  Anyway gurrrrrl, he said that you were a BOO TAY CALL!  He said when he made love with you, it was not ALL THAT!  He called you a mistake and said that he regretted it.  He said that he still loves me!  But, gurrrrl, I told him to leave us alone.   Paloma doesn’t seem to care.  She loves him with all of her strength! Ramona’s getting sick, so she leaves.  Elisa tells Paloma that she knows how she feels.  She had the best time of her life with Damien and then he dumped her too.  Paloma says that her time with an Arango was the best in the world.  Hmmmmm.  Are there any American Arangos?  Perhaps I would like to experience what it’s like to encounter one.  They seem to drive women crazy with their expertise, prowess and other “little” friends.  Elisa begs Paloma not to leave.  Paloma is her sister, her best friend.  Elisa needs Paloma close to her.  Besides, Elisa now has her eye on Enrique and she just wouldn’t feel right stealing him from Paloma if Paloma didn’t actually want him. What fun is that?
Cantina:  The cougar and her prey have moved their conversation onto the topic of Florencia.  Enrique tells her that little by little, his love for Florencia eroded.  Carito asks him if he fought to keep Florencia.  He gave up easily on a woman who trapped another man into marrying her.  Ummm how was that a bad thing Carito?  Did you mean to say that?  Enrique tells Carito that he is in love with Paloma but Paloma has been sprung (her mind is blown) by another man.  Enrique admits that he likes complicated relationships.  She tells him not to give up on Paloma and fight for the woman that he loves.
Church:  Gall asks Ex-Padre what he should do to win Elisa back.  Ex-Padre tells Gall that he lost Elisa when he slept with Paloma.  Gall says that God forgives.  Ex-Padre says that men take longer to forgive, if they forgive at all.  Gall wants Ex-Padre to help him get Elisa back.  Ex-Padre says no.  Gall has to realize that another person needs him more than ever.  Ex-Padre tells Gall that his place is next to Paloma.  Gall says that he will never marry Paloma.  Gall says that he’s not gonna be punked like Damien.  Nobody is going to keep him from Elisa.  Padre realizes that Gall doesn’t know that Paloma is preggers.  Ex-Padre wants Gall to go with him to speak to Ramona and Paloma.  Gall refuses and blames Paloma for his break-up with Elisa.  Gall hurries out of the church.
Witch Mountain SobFest  2012: Where did Ramona go and can I go too?  I am gonna throw up from all the tears.  Paloma wants distance between her and Gall as I desperately want distance between me and this scene.  Paloma tells Elisa that she is not as strong as her.  Elisa says that Paloma is strong.  They’ve fought against the world since they were children.  Paloma says that that Paloma doesn’t exist anymore.  Gall clipped her wings.  She’s always dreamed of marrying Gall.  Paloma says that she’s still leaving.  Elisa suspects that Paloma is hiding something from her.  Elisa tells Paloma to think about staying.  It won’t be fun to hit on Enrique unless you’re around.  Paloma says that she will think about it.
Count Assessors Office:  Don Lucio and Elisa discover that Estefania was never part owner of the Love Shack!  Baby Love Shack!
Hospital Waiting Room:  Damien asks the doctor why Alfonsina is not awake yet.  The doctor says that they have to wait to see if an “organism” reacts positively.  Then they will lower the medication.  After they lower the medication, they will move her to a room for observation.  The doctor assures him that everything is going well.
Intensive Care (Alfonsina’s Room):   Gabby has managed to sneak into the Alfonsina’s room.  Gabby tells comatose Alfonsina that he has always hated Rosendo.  Gabby was always envious of Rosendo and coveted everything he had.  Gabby yells at Alfonsina about humiliating him.  He has flashbacks of when she called him an idiot and told him that he wasn’t part of the family.  At one time she told him quite strongly that he was not her type.  He yells at her about putting Guido over the processing company.  He was jealous of how she looked at Guido because she would never look at Gabby that way.  He makes a half-hearted attempt to choke her but ends up trying to make out with her instead.  Who knew that Gabby was into necrophilia?  Hopefully, Ingrid is still alive!  Right when he plants a big wet one on her, Dam Fine, who has come to spread more germs, yanks off his surgical mask and pulls Gabby away from his mother.
Tovar Clinic:   It’s the following morning, and Florencia has just arrived at work.  Enrique enters without the cougar Carito.  He’s come to see Paloma.  Florencia tells him that Paloma hasn’t arrived yet.  Enrique says that he will wait outside.  Florencia tells Enrique that he doesn’t have to act distant just because she tried to steal his little sister’s baby and have her kidnapped by a rapist.  Geez, why is he holding a grudge?  Florencia wants the chance to be his friend.  Enrique doesn’t want to be friends with her; he tells her that he is in love with another woman.  She knows that it’s Paloma.  Florencia reminds him that Paloma is knocked up by Gall.  Enrique says that he doesn’t care.  He’ll accept the baby as his own.  Gall is eavesdropping outside and hears that Paloma is knocked up, but he conveniently doesn’t hear that part about him being the daddy.  Gall bursts in and wants if what he heard is true?  Is Paloma knocked up?  Yeah, says Florencia.  Enrique tells Gall that Enrique is the baby’s father.
Hospital Room:   Dam Fine is still a little perturbed and disturbed about catching Gabby making out with his comatose mother whose just had open-heart surgery.  And frankly, that’s understandable.  Little does Dam know, that Gabby is not longer a threat.  His mother’s virtue is certainly intact.  He orders Gabby out of the room.  When Gabby won’t leave he tries to bodily remove him.  A nurse with a cold sore comes  in (sans mask) and tells them both to go.  She will call security and have them both thrown out.  Damien tells her to call security and have this pervert removed.    Gabby assures Damien that he wasn’t trying to hurt Alfonsina.  He was her employee and he is worried about her.  Dam Fine says that he doesn’t believe him.  Gabby tells Dam Fine that he’s happy that she survived.  Damien mad dogs Gabby out of the hospital room. Dam Fine is sooooooo forceful and manly today.  I want to meet an Arango.  I really do.   Dam Fine orders the nurse not to let Gabby back into the room.  He doesn’t want his mother violated while she is unconscious.  She should be awake to enjoy it at least.
Tovar Clinic:  Gall doesn’t believe that Enrique slept with Paloma.  When did you have sex?  Once you go Arango, you retire!  We are all you need!  We have special powers, says Gall.  Enrique says that a gentleman doesn’t tell.  Paloma shows up late for work, what a surprise.  Gall asks her if she is knocked up by Enrique.  Paloma sticks to the story.  Gall grabs her like a ragdoll and pulls her across the street.  Enrique tries jumping to her defense, but Florencia pulls him back.  Paloma and Gall need to talk and besides…you can’t fight.  Florencia wants to know why Enrique lied about the baby.  OMGosh!  She’s got her nerve.  Enrique tells Florencia that Paloma doesn’t want Gall to know about the baby.  He tells her to keep her trap shut too.  Don’t betray Paloma because she’s been very nice to you.  Florencia is shocked that Enrique doesn’t believe that she’s changed her ways in two days.
Across the Street from the Tovar Clinic:  Paloma is throwing Gall’s words back in his face.  I slept with Enrique.  I used him the way you used me.  We got carried away.  Gall says that he doesn’t like to hear her talk that way.  Paloma tells Gall that he created the Paloma that he sees.  Since he didn’t appreciate her, she will let every man she meets use her.  Enrique has ventured out and decided to take on Gall.  He must have given himself the Rocky pep talk along the way because his chest is puffed up.  Enrique reminds Paloma that he is willing to marry her.  Gall tells him that marrying her is the least he can do.  Then he promptly clocks Enrique in the jaw.  Enrique goes down seeing stars.  Paloma rushes over to help him up.  “Enrique, you can’t fight!”  she whispers.  “Back away, he’s crazy, but he won’t hit a pregnant chick!”  She starts screaming at Gall about trying to break Enrique’s face.
Hospital:  Meanwhile, in Merida another enraged Arango is sizing up Gabby in the waiting room.  Gabby claims that he’s still there because he’s worried about Alfonsina.  Dam Fine wants Gabby to leave.  Gabby says that he has business to discuss with Alfonsina.  Business that Damien is too young to know about.  Again, like Paloma, Damien looks roughly the same age if not older than Gabby.  Damien tells Gabby that he will never be a part of the family business.  Gabby reminds Damien that the business failed under Damien.  Damien tells Gabby that he is a nobody at the Procesadora.  Gabby wishes Gall would have killed Damien.  Gabby thinks that he would have made a better son to Rosendo.  Damien doesn’t deserve to hold that name.  He tells Damien that he is only a shadow of Rosendo.  Damien clocks him.  Two large sumo wrestler doctors pull the two men apart, whilst the armed security guards look on.  The armed security guards frantically wonder what to do.

Cynderella, what an absolutely delightful recap from beginning (the title, yay!) to end. Hmmm...favorite line today has gotta be: "Gall is literally throwing a “Hail Mary” pass." Cynder you clever girl. (Followed by all your lines against Padre's ascot.)OK, one more favorite: "Witch Mountain SobFest 2012: Where did Ramona go and can I go too?"

"It won’t be fun to hit on Enrique unless you’re around." Snort! Girl you are killing me today. And I'm not going to add the Baby Love Shack because now I am quoting everything you wrote so I am going to stop RIGHT NOW.

Oh goodie, Carito obviously has some sort of life-threatening illness. Now Doc Tovar can "save" her and fall in love with her. I wonder if she is as nice as she seems or if there is evil lurking within? Enrique would probably be better off going for the Cougar but he's still stuck on dumb. (Although very sweet; I've got to give him credit for that.)

Gabi finally admits he's had the hots for Alfonsina all these years. That scene was a hoot. I laughed so loudly I scared Mr. Sharkbait.

ITA about those doctors that broke up the fight. The last doctor I saw was about 18 yrs old and came up to my shoulder, no kidding (I'm 5'4"). I want a doctor who looks like those wrestler hunks.

Que the hell the kitchen scene with Lolita and Lucio? That was so random. I'm sure we're all going right out to buy some Knorr Suiza.

Cynderella, thanks again for your brilliant snarkaliciousness.

What insanity this story has become. None of the characters' behavior makes any sense at all.

I am preparing the Karmageddon Poll for this series, as we are now about 21 episodes before the end. It will be posted in a week and will end at approximately 5 episodes before the finale.

You will need a Google account and unique identity name to enter. Additional rules will be posted on Monday October 8th with the poll.

My appreciation on giving this madness such a wonderful recap Cynderella. Somehow, it comes close to sorta possibly, maybe, making sense when you retell it. All I know is after I watch this each night, I have a sudden desire to take a shower and down a tequila ( and I don't drink tequila.)

I think a rather appropo new title to this drech should be " Calling the Kettle Black". Honestly,everyone throwing accusations at people who did the same blasted thing they did, but of course they can justify their behavior, the other person is a moron. With only a few weeks to go, they aren't even remotely making any case for the pairings that will most likely happen. Quite honestly, except for the stupid twosome at the center of this thing, everyone else seems to be "settling" or reluctantly going back to an earlier partner.

Still say Gael should leave town, Paloma scares me as a mother, QuiQui needs a Qik in the a** and someone to push him away from getting involved, and Flo, I'm sorry-you're dad may be buried there, but you would be so better off going back to the city. He'd understand.

Now, gotta say, that scene with Gabs and Alfi--holy smoke. Whoever on the patio back in the beginnning of this thing, (ah, the days when we naively thought this was a decent story), guessed that Gabs really had the ultimate hots for Alfi, not Carmina---the patio salutes you. And of course, Bandana-Man played it to camp perfection, including his snide comments to Damien ( and Dam--he's kinda, sorta got a point about driving the company to the ground. )

For that matter, they all should be chased down with pitch forks by the town denizens whose livelihoods depend on these businesses. None of them deserve to run these joints when this is all over. I say a worker revolt might be a nice way to end things. Do a PSA on the the problems with nepotism and unqualified, unconcerned figure-head leadership.

Cynderella!! What a gem you got out of all this insanity (thanks UA!) Here are my favs… hard to choose just a few though, your recap was full of great lines.

(he still hasn’t figured out that her milk is already in the bag; all he has to do is pick it up)

Elisa slaps Galls lips off, which is a shame because he has very pretty lips. (‘carnosos’ according to People Mag)

Loved: I’m a man! It’s what we do! (and Elisa’s response) He will never get a whiff of either one of them again.

Dam spreading the virus germs all over… LOL!

Don Lucio learns to cook during a product placement for oil. (actually it was Knorr chicken bouillon cubes LOL!)

An employee almost passes out at the office. You’re her boss. What should you do? Enrique takes her to the cantina to get her drunk. Oh come on, she was drinking Bailey’s Irish Crème in that jumbo coffee cup. I’m not stupid…. (and Carito) mentally congratulates herself for still being able to get a free meal out of a man at her age.

Gall is literally throwing a “Hail Mary” pass. (I found that scene sickening)

Seriously, can’t Ex-Padre wear the priest collar until we can get him a tie? That ascot is horrendous and I will not be able to concentrate on anything else until this has been resolved.

Paloma willing to accept partial blame unlike some people.

Are there any American Arangos? I would like to experience what it’s like to encounter one.

Gall doesn’t believe that Enrique slept with Paloma. When did you have sex? Once you go Arango, you retire!

Florencia is shocked that Enrique doesn’t believe that she’s changed her ways in two days.

“Back away, he’s crazy, but he won’t hit a pregnant chick!”

I did not get the point of the whole Carmina remembering the day Stefie died scene… Is this supposed to show Carmina does have a little bit of a soft spot for Elisa or that Alfonsina is supposed to be a worse witch than Carmina? … it was bizarre.

OT: FINALLY!! people mag made justice to Mark T in the photos they put out for him in a not-so-x-rated pose. HE looks great in tee-shirts and v-neck sweaters and finally they listened. Yeah William Levy wins sexy man of the yr again, but at least the others got decent pictures too. Btw they also had Ryan Lochte in the list, saying he does have Hispanics in his family tree.

UA, what is a Karmageddon Poll?

David Z's picture is HORRENDOUS.

is the K poll a prediction of who will not make it to the 'FIN'?

Well, I actually watched this one, and I don't know which was funnier: the whole OTT episode itself or Cynderella's recap. I am culling my favorite lines down to a manageable list...

5. He practically makes out with Dolores when they switch the apron. Dolores teaches him to cook a chicken soup. Like I have time for this. [BL: Did you notice she flashed us all a full frontal flesh-colored leotard while she was whipping off that apron and the amazingly non-ignited fringed shawl?]

4. Damien, who last week required antibiotics, removes his surgical masks so that he can spread his germs all over the room. He moves closer to his mother so that he can infect her with the ebola virus. [BL: Really, what is the point of a mask that you take off as soon as you get into the ICU? Was it just protecting him from Gabino's fleas?]

3. Between Enrique’s love life, Braulio trying to carry Dolores’ milk, Elisa getting kidnapped, Gall going crazy and Don Lucio’s Tostacho parties, Carito’s had to put in a lot of overtime. [BL: They should put her on the label.]

2. Where did Ramona go and can I go too? I am gonna throw up from all the tears. [BL: I think she sneaked over to the Dear Departed Table for a quick one.]

And last but not least:

1. Once you go Arango, you retire! [BL: TEE SHIRT TIME!]

Karmageddon is our term for getting what's coming to you, since Televisas novelas typically love poetic justice. This poll will be our predictions for certain characters' fates.

Can we say what we WANT to happen to them? Oh, I guess we've been doing that all along. ;}

Cynderella thanks for your recap and other OCD observations. As others have mentioned you had so many great lines, its hard to pick one.

"Witch Mountain SobFest 2012: Where did Ramona go and can I go too?"
I don't think poor Pal started off as the unfortunate character she has become but like daisynjay I shudder at her being a parent. Her obsession for Gall that she thinks is love is horrible and makes her one of the most irrational characters I've seen in a TN that is supposed to be on the side of good.

Gabi & Fina - I know Vivi was one of the people who made this call and I think Carlos was too. Hats off to you both and others who believed this is where Gabby's "heart" really was. (Sorry Cynderella but I don't think he has a heart.)

EJ - Now that little E has renounced both brothers what are your thoughts? Your discussion with NM about her this was funny. I was happy she realized she was being treated as an object by both; something her best friend has yet to understand about Gall.

Why do the writers continue to have Gall say such horrible things to Pal unless they are setting us up for his death? What miraculous event is supposed to happen to return him to the character we met at the start?

Cynderella - Awesome recap. The episode was hysterically funny. At least, the parts I did not FFWD-> thru...
MY favorite recapper line is --- That ascot is horrendous and I will not be able to concentrate on anything else until this has been resolved LOL!!!
He is using that thing to cover up the bright white skin on his neck that the sun has not seen for decades, because he covered it with his priest collar. (I hope he doesn't think he's ready to enter Project Runway.)

The whole Gael/Elisa/Damian/Paloma Circle of Idiocy is like something from the eighth grade. Maybe Mrs. Clark's eight grade/middle school drama class wrote this thing?

My biggest LOL moment was Damian wearing the surgical mask through the doorway of his mother's room, and removing it as soon as he enters the room was LOL. Maybe he really wants her to die from an infection? Maybe the germs in the hallway are deadly and he is protecting himself out there?

I'm glad you figured out which product was being featured in that Lucio/Lolita scene. The bonfire under that skillet was all I could think about. I was waiting for the shawl fringe to catch fire.

Gabino was having a very bad hair day. Dude.

Carita got enough lines and face time that she'll probably be Quique's next love interest. He falls for needy women. Who don't really love him.

Enrique says that a gentleman doesn’t tell. Yep, at least Enrique has class.

I am so grateful for the recap. I thought Gabino inferred to Damian that Rosendo is his (Gabs') father. Gah…. I have a hard time understanding Gabs, sometimes.

"He doesn’t want his mother violated while she is unconscious. She should be awake to enjoy it at least."

Oh Lord, that is just vintage Cynderella. You say such wild crazy things. I love it.

Some other favorites:
"I wonder which Kravitz took the show on the road."

after the lame product placement "Like I have time for this!"

And clearly, everybody's favorite, perhaps for all-time

"Once you go Arango, you retire."

You are a wicked wicked funny lady, Cynderella. Please don't ever change.

OMG look what I found on youtube. It's Lolita's recipe:How to dance with then cook a chicken

Bwahahahaha!!!!!

ITA on the Circle of Idiocy. I have never seen six supposedly in-love people have so little fun.

Cap'n Sylvia - LOL x 10!!! Doin' the funky chicken!

Cynderella...I love your irreverent style and this was one of your best!!

This crazy story only gets more ridiculous with each episode.

Ever since the regulars here clued the rest of us clueless folks out here that many of these TNs are PSAs, I've been trying to figure out the PSAs in this nonsense, but when I look at these goofy people, what positive thing can you even say about them?!

Paloma and Elisa have to be two of the dumbest broads I have ever seen. Paloma is BEYOND pathetic and Gael is right up there with her.

So, someone clue the clueless in and tell us what PSAs you are seeing here.

Thanks again, Cynderella...this was just great!

Cynderella- Your snarky style is just perfect for the mess that this tn has become. I was rolling my eyes through most of the episode, but laughing through all of your recap. I wish these tn writers had you on staff!

Yes, I was one of the early ones to say that Gab's ultimate prize was Alfie, not Carmina. Glad to see that the writers remembered to follow that thread. They seem to have forgotten everything else about the rest of our cast's characters. Character development in this tn has been non-existant or negative/regressive.

Cynderella - One of the things I love most about your recaps is how I feel we are all sitting around a table, at let's say a nice patio, with our elbows on the table, chin in our hands, listening to you tell a story about some kooks you know. It is all so personable and fun!

These were my favorite lines today:
- "sexiest white muumuu in her closet"
- "As if I have time for this"
- "Where did Ramona go and can I go too?"
- "He must have given himself the Rocky pep talk along the way because his chest is puffed up."

Somehow this is the first day I realized the receptionist is Coni from Cuando. As if I need her mature woman's darling shape thrown in my face. It's fun to laugh about Elisa's fake boobs and Flor's WaspWaist, but Carito has such a magnificent shape and looked so good on MQB. Why do I like her so much?

I think Cap'n is right about her being a good match for the Doc. I don't want to watch her fall for Enrique. Been there, done that. Chema.

Karmageddon sounds fun! Too bad we can't place bets on outcomes like they do on Intrade.com.

Thanks again Cynderella, our official weekend party hostess.

This was so funny, but I say that every week. And from now on, I will always post a comment late so that everyone quotes all the lines I thought were funny so I don't have to.

I really have a hard time believing Gabino would have the hots for Alfonsina. She looks old enough to be his mother, and she's not even hot looking. I don't buy it.

Maybe it's coz he's got a bullet in his head. I swear, when he went into her room, twitching and blinking and scratching his head, he was so mad dog I thought he was gonna start chewing on his own butt.

Blue Lass, that must be it. The bullet in his head made him do it.

And what Cynderella said is so true. Gab and Damian are supposed to be a generation apart, but they sure don't look it.

That was pretty gross watching Gab mack on Alfi. Especially since I've harbored suspicions that he is really her biological child that she abandoned in her efforts to snare Risendo. That would explain why she refused to fire him.

Cynderella, that was fabulous. I agree with the others that your daring, creative, snarkalicious style is a perfect foil for this wacky TN that has clearly gone of the rails. Your asides actually bring some sanity to the story! Thanks so much for many laugh out loud moments.

That might be because David Zepeda (Damián) is 38 and Salvador Zerboni (Gabino) is 33? LOL!

Cynderella, you were on FIRE this episode. From the title, which is hysterical, to the "Once you go Arango" t-shirt worthy line. OMG just too funny! Ditto to favorite lines said but I think this one hasn't been mentioned yet:

Between Enrique’s love life, Braulio trying to carry Dolores’ milk, Elisa getting kidnapped, Gall going crazy and Don Lucio’s Tostacho parties, she’s had to put in a lot of overtime. She’s heard of “my girl Friday”, but this is ridiculous!

OMG, LOL FUNNY! Don Lucio's Tostacho parties!!! And doncha just bet the sponsors were like "OK, fine if Lolita does the cooking, but we want Don Lucio in the product placement ad!" They're smart enough to know he's the only character all their customers still like.

DaisynJay: Quique needs a qik in the a**! HAHAHAHAHA! I so totally agree (but get in line behind everyone else who deserves one).

I particularly liked how you tapped into Eliar's self righteous indignation over Gall doing Pal wrong when she, herself started this whole chain of events into motion. I meant to comment the other day when Pal confessed to Elisa and Elisa said "You're not the only one to blame!" I was waiting for Elisa to say "I'm equally to blame for (stealing the love of your life, sending mixed messages, being an egocentric beyotch) whatever but instead she said, in true Elisa style: "GAEL is also to blame!" She conveniently left herself off the blame list.

Anyway, your recaps are just too much fun. I don't know what we're going to do in a few short weeks when we don't get our funny Saturday fix!

Thanks again, Cynderella!

Katy

Querida Cynderella,

Thanks for the hilarious recap. I hope you get some Arango Americano soon. = : )

When Gael was in the church praying, I kind of felt bad for God. Can you imagine having to listen to that kind of crap day in, day out?

I don't think Gab has the hots for Alfie in the traditional sense. She was Rosendo's wife. The unattainable. And as such, he just wanted her more.

Vivi in DC - I think you're right in your assessment of Gab-->Alfie.

Cynderella is a wonderful weekend party hostess. Katy, we'll have to draft her for the next telenovela's Friday night episodes. ;o)

Cynderella, I agree with you about Guadelupe's new "luke." It's as if he's taking the smallest step possible in transitioning from his priestly garb to civilian clothing. If you were slightly nearsighted or looking at him from a block away you wouldn't even notice the difference. I'm sure Televisa's wardrobe department has plenty of plaid shirts they could put him in.

For the fans of Salvador Zerboni (aka Gabino) the mag TVyNovelas - October issue - has pics of him including an unmemorable centerfold.

Yes he was hilarious in high camp making out with the comatose Alfonsina. But remember his reason is impaired: he has a bullet in his brain!

As for Lupe's ex-priest outfit, I would go with red trousers and a yellow shirt.

Cynderella, first of all, I love the moniker Gall for our Gael. I know you have been using it for weeks, but I've never thanked you for the word association.....Gael is Gall and so is his sure fire bride-to-be, Señora Gall---Paloma! Where is their introspection? Has either one had even ONE unselfish thought? NO! They are galling! Gall= gallbladder=bile= gall stones= PAIN (OK, I'm taking the gall analogy too far, but I feel like blowing off some of my Abismo steam!) Cynderella, you don't post a lot, so I think you must be busy with real life, thanks for all the hysterically funny interpretations of our beloved Passion Pit, you are a joy!

Karen, "I don't think poor Pal started off as the unfortunate character she has become but like daisynjay I shudder at her being a parent. Her obsession for Gall that she thinks is love is horrible and makes her one of the most irrational characters I've seen in a TN that is supposed to be on the side of good." Yes, I agree!

I am very worried about Padre Lupe.....the priesthood is his life. His ecclesiastical jefe (title?) ) is a real hard nose, our writers are hard noses as well, where are they taking his character? Will he be at the (stoopid) bodas al fin?

someone suggested we think of something good to say about the characters...
let's see...
Eliar... well, as long as she covers up her boobies and gives away her booties to charity, she will be doing a good thing. Emotionally she is a disaster, she better start including her in the blame game of the disaster her life has become...
Paloma... well, she is not thinking about getting rid of the baby... (does that count as a good thing?)
Gall (evil twin brother has no virtues... NONE!!!)... Mi Gael, on the other hand, if he ever comes back, well, he is salvageable if he will take care of evil twin's seedling.
Damian... he cares about his mother to the point of forgiving all her 'faults'. (would look as a good thing at least to Lupe, I guess... to me i believe in the 'there is a limit')
Gabino ... i count the bullet in his head as a 'good thing'.
Padre Loopy... he saved the life of his nephew, even at the cost of his 'calling'. (I think it is a good thing, at least he has no more excuse to keep telling others to keep quiet about the secrets of confession)
Lucio (if he keeps giving the tostacho parties, he is good in my book, but he better invite us to the next one)
Alfie (maybe in the open heart surgery they reprogrammed hers ... crossing fingers)
Tangel-Ho (not sure we should bother looking for any good coming from her)
Kike ... well, yes, he means to do a good thing by marrying a 'lady in distress'... but he better stop trying to be everyone else's hero and save his own future...
Flo... lately she certainly is learning how to be a good friend. not sure if that will save her.
Ramona ... i will say good things about her when she FINALLY SPILLS SOME BEANS AND HERBAL CONCOCTIONS ALL OVER TOWN!!!

Of the 7 young people on the show, only 3 have done any introspection:

Enrique (admits he keeps falling for unattainable women)

Florencia (knows she was wrong for conspiracy to babynapping, tricking Damian etc)

and

Sabrina (knows she needs to get out of La Ermita & find herself, instead of hanging around becoming one of Begona's mean girls

The other 4 have done NO introspection at all:

DAMIAN set the whole Florencia chain into motion by not being upfront & honest with Florencia from the get-go, that he had fallen in love with another woman and no longer wanted to marry her. Instead he was passive aggressive, cold etc. which led Florencia to become more & more clingy & manipulative, hungering for attention. That's why she fell under Enrique's spell to begin with...Enrique was paying attention to her, Damian was not.

Damian continued to have sex with Florencia even though he didn't love her, just using her as a warm body to release his animal instincts with. If Damian had not had sex with Florencia to begin with, Flor could not have tricked Damian with a fake pregnancy! (especially the 2nd time)

Florencia has to own up to her part in this mess too. She should have stayed in Mexico City the first time she went back, and she should not have presented herself to Damian like a Scooby Snack. But DAMIAN was the one who asked her to marry him both times.

Florencia also should apologize to Elisa for her poor, crappy behavior to her and the things she's said about Elisa's mother, although I think she's trying to make amends by freeing Damian to be with Elisa & tag-teaming Alfonsina with Elisa.

GALL needs to realize Elisa is not a little action figure, a little toy he gets to take away from Damian because Damian got all the good toys. At one time Gael did love Elisa, defending her against the town and Augusto. But now he just sees her as a little doll. He's known since they were little kids that Elisa is NOT into him that way and I think part of his desire for Elisa is because he can get one over on Damian.

Also I think he's justifying treating people like crap on his rough life:

Damian didn't have anything to do with you being denied your father...you are OLDER than Damian. How could he deny you something when he wasn't even born yet?

Hey Elisa, I cheated on you with your BFF, so, when are we getting married? Say what?

Paloma, you're a cheap trick and will never compare to Elisa but even though I think you're a silly ho, I don't want you creeping around with Enrique who actually wants to marry you.

So Gall needs to have a seat. He's being incredibly self centered (well he comes by it honestly) and needs to start thinking of OTHERS instead of himself.

Elisa needs to a) stop being self centered; b) stop playing games; and c) stop being a willing victim.

Everything has to be about Elisa. Well why not when everyone on the show except Gabino & Chente make it all about Elisa? Everytime she cries, Lucio, Paloma & Lolita are there to sop up her tears. Alfonsina & Carmina are there to make all their failings in life about Elisa. Gael & Damian are fighting for Elisa. Ramona haunts the graveyard & Witch Mountain worrying about Elisa. The Tovar family had/had Elisa's name in their mouth for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Stop playing games: She set this whole Damian/Gael situation into motion by:

1) not telling Damian from the get go that unless/until he's finished with Florencia, to lose her number;

2) not staying in Merida to marry civilly instead of coming back to La Ermita;

3) Not selling Estefania's pearl necklace* to bail Augusto out of jail like he told her to do, but promising to stay away from Damian in exchange for Alfie dropping the charges (but not telling Damian about Alfie's blackmail);

4) Believing Carmina's lie about she & Damian being siblings instead of hauling ass back to Merida to get a DNA test;

5) Promising Damian she would be his wife, making the boy kiss Augusto's azz for her hand in marriage knowing that she was running off with Augusto;

6) Not telling Damian that they were NOT siblings;

7) Getting huffy that Damian fell into Florencia's arms after not telling him they weren't siblings;

8) Again not telling Damian to lose her number until he was finished with Florencia, but making plans to run off & marry;

9) Not wanting to be alone, & possibly wanting to hurt Damian, suggests she & Gael marry, knowing she just wasn't into Gael & that Paloma had just broken up with Gael;

10) Stringing Gael along while making googly eyes at Damian;

11) Willingly running off with Damian in the middle of her wedding (knowing this would devastate Gael). If Elisa REALLY wanted to marry Gael, Damian wouldn't have snatched her or hurt her.

12) Telling Damian what he heard was true, she was the town ho, just like her momma robbing men left & right and implied Gael knew how to put it down

13) Wanting to run back & explain herself to Gael after sexy times with Damian

14) When Damian demands to know her feelings, plays the "You should read my mind and already know game."

15) Instead of being honest about how she feels with Damian, plays the "you should know" game with him some more but is honest with Gael.

Elisa set this chain into motion with her game playing, but she's too self centered to realize that.

PALOMA needs to be slapped hard and often. She brags about not being sorry she slept with Gael, not being sorry for what she did b/c it was "for love."

BS!

Paloma presented herself to Gael as a Scooby Snack because she knows, he knows, Ramona knows, Viewerville knows that's the only way Gael will pay attention to her. Paloma knew he was engaged to Elisa. She knew what she was doing was wrong. She claims not to be sorry yet is constantly in tears and says she doesn't want Gael to know about the baby.

Is it that she doesn't want Gael to find out? Or that she'll find out Gael won't care if he does find out?

Anon, i guess you blew a cap.. or two... i thought the idea was to find something POSITIVE to say about our fab foursome but i guess lately there is not much to give them cheers for, just rolling eyes and wishing they all would just dissappear into the sunset.

ITA on your last line about Paloma and why she is trying to keep her baby bump a secret on Gael...

Anon207, those are super analyses of our dense youngsters. Thanks for taking the time, they really gave me a chuckle or two.

Marta, Anon207 is POSITIVE about Dam, Elisa, Gall and Paloma, lol! ITA with you about Ramona. She's gotten POSITIVELY nasty to Paloma lately. Not that she's not telling the truth, but why not tell the truth about something that actually matters. Ramona, we don't care what you think about Paloma's morals, we care what you know about Rosendo and Estefania! Sheesh lady.

I like your list Anon 207! Spelling it out like that makes me all the more frustrated with Elisa.

Gall-y, Sandy! Loved the Gall rant. Lol

Thanks everyone for you kind and VERY passionate comments. I don't have internet access at my house, so I can't post alot.

Anon207, I hope they hear you in La Ermita and change their ways immediately. Could you also please get them to get rid of the ascot?

Testing... Still trying to figure this new format out.

Thanks much Anon207! Loved your analysis. I'm so sick of these idiot youngsters, especially Elisa. No, wait, especially Paloma. no, wait......
