- At police, Marcial tells boss that Aldo could lead them to the owner of NFERNO.
- ‘V’ makes smalltalk with RE as ‘buddy’. Max with a forced smile and gentleman-ism. ‘V’ tells them Aldo is her ‘boyfriend’. Max is less than amused but forces a smile.
Pato: What does Gala say?

Also enjoyed "Rod's body is there but his mind is in another galaxy".
The one puzzle for me in this episode is the ghost. Do not see the point of this being in the story at all. It adds nothing. And I've never heard of a hungry ghost before but we shall see. I did like Procopio's pitcher and plate Clearly I'm distracted by the crockery. If I were a buyer for Pottery Barn, I'd definitely be ordering some.
Thanks for another great recap Marta and for including such detailed conversation for those of our readers who don't yet understand Spanish very well. You're a fine educator.
Loved that dinner for Melissa by the Linares. All the wonderful toasts and even Rod making such a good one, Claudio and his toast, Rod sure was jealous that Pato was sitting next to Luci.
Poor Rod his life has turned into an Inferno. I think he is right to want to divorce Gagme, they don't love each other, but on the other hand Pato is right and Luci won't welcome him back with open arms. Rod has a lot to deal with.
Poor Luci too. Now she feels guilty about Gagme's actions, and to tell you the truth, I think Gagme counted on Luci hearing the "if something happens to me and the bebe, it's yours and la Domestica's fault". Gagme wants to guilt Luci into staying away from Rodrigo es Mio. And The Champagne Queen's reaction, I'm losing beauty sleep and her gagme daughter didn't let her know ahead of time. Really!!!!I really think Gagme knows she is on the losing end here.
Frigid is gonna tell on Hanna. Mati, in this one instance, really did give Hanna good advice about Lor. Stay away from him and keep him away from here. Rosa would like nothing better than to throw his butt back in jail.
That phantasma is a hoot. I think the writers are using this plot device for something. We have seen way to much of this phantasma for them not to use it for something. Love how the phantasma stole Copio's bread, lol.
Rosa is way far gone. She needs to be in a manicomio. Everything is always wrong with someone else, never with her. And it's never Rosa's fault, always someone else's. I really wish, just once, she could really see herself for what she really is.
At this stage I can't see Gala going to term. Either she will die in an accident in the last week or she will have a miscarriage within the next two weeks and not tell Rod. Real pregnancy morphs into a fake one.
Aldo is an idiot.
Request for reality check: Do law school grads take the final oral exam in front of an audience like this? It's intimidating and creepy.
Wasn't there another one of these inquest-type exams in some other TN? Was it Teresa or Fuerza?
I think Luci would take back her Muchachon. Of course it can't happen that way in a TN, or can it?
That bread disappeared like a magic trick...ghosts don't eat bread, definitely should clue Procopio in on the nature of this "Fantasma".
Max was really scary last night. Vicky is going to have to work extra hard to not fall back into Max's clutches, but Aldo lives and works with him, so he needs to think of another way to save his skin. The only way he can do that is by proving to Max that he's loyal. The question is, how will he do that? And now the police are coming after him to find out who the owner of Inferno is. Aldo will have some tough choices to make soon.
Urban- In Teresa, the docs also had to do their final professional exam in front of an audience. And one of my friends also did her Masters exam in front of a small audience here in the U.S. and I went. We also did a celebratory dinner afterwards. It's unusual here in the U.S., but not in other countries.
I want Rod to stop TALKING about the divorce, and just DO it. Don't ask anyone's opinion. Don't talk to Luci about it and make her feel like she's the cause-- making her feel guilty. If he's doing it for himself and his well-being, then he shouldn't hesitate. He should also be thinking about his child and that this in not the environment he wants him/her growing up in. Winning back Luci should be his third priority. Once he has shown that he is man enough and mature enough to make his own decisions, and follow through on them, then he will have a better chance of winning back Luci, as a free/unmarried man.
I still think the ghost is Theo. Anyone notice that the Theo actor was switched last night. He wasn't the same big/burly guy. This guy is smaller and less handsome.
"In Mexico, the bar exam is oral. At her university, each student chooses the three law professors who will administer the oral exam. The test is a rather subjective process. The bar candidate faces three lawyers seated at a long table — adorned with fresh fruit — and must answer a series of questions about the legal system. You pass or fail right there on the spot."
"Lawyers in Mexico are required to complete a law degree (Licenciado en Derecho, a five year program), and obtain a practice certificate (cedula professional) from the Bureau of Professions of the Ministry of Education (Direction General de Profesiones), which officially certifies the license by virtue of the law degree."
I like Rosa's kind of villain--bad, but in self-defeating kinds of ways. She might be redeemable. And I wonder how evil Max might be. He might be on a whole different level.
Rod's toast to Melissa had a double meaning. He was once again trying again to tell Luci he's sorry for not defending her and not fighting for what was right.
Melissa clearly knows where to draw the line. She essentially told Jana in the lounge chair that just being close to him makes her heart flutter, but she admires him and respects him. I don't think she'll make the first move. That said, it would be better if she didn't go to work for CL.
Poor Jana (how many times have we said that). Frigida will rat her out. I think that is the main reason Rose kept her on--to keep her informed on the inner-workings in the house (since she was so busy doing nothing and bothering Padre Honesto). Frigida loves her job of spy and the Gala-Julie-Rod thing came along for her (and us) at just the right time. She was probably getting low on story material.
Was Max just teaching Aldo a lesson or had his anger taken him over the edge. How was he going to explain the dead body of his nephew in the house. It was similar to handcuffing Vicky--it was a power trip extraordinare.
It was such "fun" to watch Max squirm and do a slow burn in the restaurant.
I just can't resist Pato. He can deliver so much feeling with his face--the eyes, the forehead, the jaw. No wonder the camera moves in for close-ups. Rodrigo was definitely feeling a bit of bro-envy, bordering on jealousy at CL's DP1.
Speaking of Rodrigo, I love his looks up on the mountain top with Luci in the credits. He seems so free, so sure of himself as an outdoorsman. We don't hear much about him going on hiking or on climbing trips anymore. Anyway, a lot of it, for me, has to do with his hair. It's shiny and golden and fluffy. Why does wardrobe think he looks good with his hair greased and slicked back. Oh, that's right Gabe and Marco kind of look like that, too. Thank goodness they're not pommadeing Pato's gorgeous head of hair.
The fantasma is there to stretch the novela out to 165 episodes, sin duda.
He seems to be getting bolder in displaying his feelings for her, and is getting more fed up with Rod and his whining and stalking.
Lot of little plot points and statements made that hint at things to come.
Glad Vi told someone about what Max had done to her. Aldo was genuinely upset and I think his motivation to get money out of Max may now take a dark turn.
But what rather ticked me off was Connie's approach when Max was doing his best stalker/attack imitation. Obviously something was wrong, but even Aldo's lame "he's mad because of Cl" would have had me blowing steam out of my ears as a mother & tell Max to never touch my kid again instead of " oh,Aldo don't provoke Max" WTH? Now she's enabling Max? Spare me.
The only two points I see to the whole Grill Teeth getting angry and drunk is 1.) Get Luce to feel guilty for anything that happens in the future-thus pulling her and Rod apart and 2.) Start a downward spiral with GT that may result in either a miscarriage or baby born with severe health issues. I too was a little surprised that it didn't take a darker turn.
I agree with Pato's analysis to Rod--Dumbass really dug himself a hole for that one night of anger sex. He wonders if he has to pay all his life for his one screw up--hello, yes, especially if it was that stupid. Of course, being the hunky spoiled first son who everyone adored and with a mother who has NEVER accepted any consequences of her actions, not surprised he took that tack. It was almost as if Luce had to make concessions to him some how, hinting that he was sorry and keeps saying that he is so now why isn't she just being all dewey-eyed and letting them get togther? Yeah, he's Rosa's boy all right.
I guess I'm supposed to take it as him constantly wanting her to hear his undying love--but I look at it as harrassing and disrespectful. He needs to get his house in order and leave Luce out of it.
Again with the differences in meals and moods. Love these writers and director!!
Janna is such deep doodoo. (Mati has a nerve warning her when she's pulled some big-mouth spilling herself.) So what would Rosa do to jabba--she's already made her feelings known on the Lorenzo idea. I guess we worry if Rosa suddenly knows a good hit-man to call.
As to Rod, once he gets to that place where he's on the mountaintop with Luci he will be himself again. The better look will reflect how he feels inside. Now he is bogged down by Gala and her self-created drama. She's sapping his energy just as that grease flattens out his hair.
He needs better beard grooming as well. His current look makes him look too old.
A follow up on the Pato as a crooner. I could have sworn the rest of the conversation went something like ... when they ask me to sing it's means the end of the party because they always tell me to shut up and everybody goes home... a joke on himself. Did anyone else catch that?
Laughed my head off with Nosy Rosy at the restaurant constantly looking at Aldo and Vicki and making snide comments to Max. Almost choked when she said he had better taste than have someone as vulgar as Vicki, I guess Vio went up a notch LOL.
I wonder if Pato will sing for Luci. i read somewhere that Brandon Peniche does sing so who knows. For some reason in almost every novela i've seen some actor breaks into song some times to the good, sometimes not.
Rod was definitely caught between a rock and a hard place watching Pato and Luci's interactions and so obviously wanting to be in his brother's place. That farewell was a tad awkward.
When Gagme waas swilling back drinks and then trying to figure how to pay for them i kept looking at the guy in the background and wondering if he was going to make a play for her, kidnap her, be important but i guess he just called the cops to make sure the drunken mess got home safe. Than again maybe he will play a part when she goes to recoup her earrings.
Max and Vicki played with fire and from the looks of things and Max's subsequent actions they are going to get burned.
Mati giving Jana good advice and reminding her what happened to Luci when she tangled with the TL Queen. Who knew she had sensible advice in her being used to her constant handwringing mi nina's. Lord God does no one in that house think to close a door when Frigida is near? So annoying when Mati knows full well that other woman is an ear to the wall gossip.
I hate those previews with julie getting all coy in front of Claudio. That is something that I loathed in the prior version and hoped they would not go down that path in this one so if Claudio can't see through her I am going to be majorly pithed.
It will be interesting to see whether Max will hire her or not. Maybe he will feel that since he's being surrounded by Team Luci members he'll feel compelled to hire Julie.
Ohhh Maxi, Maxi. I didn't start watching Refugio until it went to the one hour format so I didn't see Max drug Vicki and chain her up, only the intimidating and controlling behavior which is bad enough. Now that I've seen the flashback, and watched him grab hold of Aldo so that a little more pressure might have killed him, I don't think Maxi can be saved. Claudio needs to git'im. He's equal with Rosa. My heart instantly jumps to their three children and how they will cope with learning who their parents really are. Only the immature Aldo knows the extent of his uncle's depravity. What's so sick about what Max does is that he could generate fear and get the results he wants without going that far, so there's something really poisoned in him and that's what makes him equal with Rosa. They both will stop at nothing to control their realms. Someone said this week that the body count is still at one. Now I fear it won't stay so low.
Don Aquiles is responsible for that one body(I assume the reference was to Galindo.) I've also been hopeful about Don A because, well, we all know that in Novelaland finding a long lost child can do good things for a guy. But Don A was ruthless with Luci's family so I'm not in his camp anymore either.
I could not believe how drunk pregnant Gala got. What a hypocrite! She's educated enough to know about fetal alcohol syndrome. She can't pin alcohol consumption on anyone else, really. Dumb Rod needs to figure out that getting out of there is the right thing, not because she's impossible for HIM to live with, but because their living situation produces in a very bad environment for the baby that's (still) growing in there.
Pato really made Luci uneasy when he offered to sing to her picked up the cues that it was inappropriate only at the last minute. He's slowly courting her but y'all have said, it's a lost cause for him.
Also, did Melissa go on a bit too much in presenting her gift to Claudio? I thought I saw some eyes rolling in the room.
Fantasma---My take for what it's worth. This is a very serious novela, intence in many places with a lot of hatred and strong, very strong arguements. I think that the fantasama is nothing more than an attempt by the writers to break the intensity if just for a moment and bring in a laugh or two. This fits in perfectly with the copio character. I laughed myself, so I guess that it's working.
Insight?---I have seen enough novelas to know that there usually are several deaths and one or two severe cripling accidents which often turn out to be not accidents at all but a result of careful planning. After watching this last episode, I couldn't help but wonder if Aldo and Vickie are not moving closer to a big anvil of some kind. Psycho Max is not going to take their romance lightly.---Does anyone agree?
the gringo
Another comment on Max and Rosa. Rosa is verbal in her classism, talking on about Aldo being with a manicurist who is below him. Though Max has never been verbally judgmental based on class, he treats Vicki like dirt, like someone who is so far beneath him that she's simply his property. Same thing, different expression.
Max may try to terrorize and intimidate Aldo and Vicky, but I don't see him murdering them. That would be too messy and have too many repercussions that would impact his life and the people around him.
Carol- Oscar was definitely rolling his eyes as Melissa gushed about CL. LOL!
I don't think Claudio has anything at all to fear from Max. He knows Max too well and Max would be an immediate suspect. The danger if there is any to Claudio would seem to come from someone else
I don't think Oscar was so much rolling his eyes at Melissa's over the top little speech but was recognizing her feelings for the man. Several others already know about them so didn't react in the same way.
Like the TL kids, Oscar stands to be very disillusioned when the depth of Max's crooked dealings comes out. He has been his right hand man for years and trusts him believing him to be a somewhat honrable man. He got his first clue back during the trial when Max ordered him to bribe the judge and jury but has somehow seemed to have gotten passed it.
And why doesn't Lastra call Max? Or did he and I missed it. He's got Max's money and records you'd think he'd be smart enough to use them to insure his safety.
I almost felt sorry for Gagme last night. ALMOST! It seems all her mother cares about is the TL money, not her. If your own mother can't love you,who will?
Olive
As for Ofelia, I guess she thinks Lastra giving her a job is a good thing. He could have said no. *shrug* I also guess, since he didn't try to force himself on her sexually, like he did Luci, she doesn't see firsthand how evil he can be. She seems to feel a bit sorry for the guy. He has seemed more pathetic than dangerous with her.
Olive- I don't think Gala is doing it for the money. She's doing it to get back at Rod and Luci. And she's doing it for her pride. If she were able to seduce/win back Rod, she would feel triumphant over him and Luci. She can not get over the fact that Rod loves Luci and does not love her, and that he dumped her for Luci.
She has questioned why she's doing this a few times, but Julie is always there to stoke the fires of her hate and need for revenge to keep her going. Julie's driving motive is money, and for this reason she is able to remain so cold and cool-headed. Gala can't contain all the hurt and resentment she feels, and so is always picking fights with Rod. A true gold-digger, like Julie, would know how to stroke the man's ego and make him feel like she loves/worships him. (Like Vio and Vicky with their sugar daddies.)
Poor Aldo. Looks like he's finally at the point when fast talk won't get him out of trouble. Enjoyed Vicki rising up and sticking it to Max, but she's naive about how low Max will go.
Hasn't anyone in the TL household learned by now in this telenovela to NOT leave a door not fully shut?????
I think Rod & Pato will come up with a plan that will protect Luci from the bruja clan.
The champagne cougar queen will get her claws into Claudio Linares. And Melissa will be the casualty of that action.
I wonder if Gagme's magazine editor job was given to her by her daddy. And we'll see an appearance by him when things start going south at the magazine so he comes to check things out. Some kind of boss she is...shes never there!!!! Unless I missed something in a previous episode, her daddy has never been mentioned.

Vivi I do remember that bit with Max and lastra and i think the guy is a fool to cross Max. Chalk it up to Lastra being another fool like Rod, Boris and marcial who won't take NO for an answer.
That's been my theory!
wait for it...
wait for it...
EL SUSODICHO Don PEDRO CAMPOS!!...
lol!! none other than a criminal...
that would be too much for Gagme to take... that her dad is a criminal whereas Luci's dad is a hero/knight in golden shining armor
I like it Audrey. I think you're just about ready to write some pot-boilers aren't you? Good rich imagination amiga mia.
It's just that sometimes I feel obliged to fill in the big holes left open by our poor beleaguered script writers! :) Really, so I can explain parts of the story to myself, LOL. And yes, Marta, this back story is inspired by Julie's "socialite" high-class party girl, spendthrift, moocher ways and how she uses her daughter as her meal ticket.
But EJ is still the queen of this. I'll never forget her "deep background" on the mysterious Doris in El Talismán.. Talk about imagination!
