Abismo de pasión #155 10/26/12: The Bastard with Dreams of Greatness

Casa de Castanon:  I’m still a bit woozy from having to be revived by the paramedics with smelling salts.  It seems both Elisa and I passed out from shock when Alfonsina said that she would not oppose a marriage between Dam and Elisa.  So, you can see why I became light-headed.

Elisa, like me, is confused.  Alfonsina has just complimented Elisa on her business skills (that’s when Elisa hit the floor), and said that Elisa wouldn’t make a bad co-owner in the company.  Elisa comments that the procesadora really must be desperate if Alfonsina is willing to take Elisa’s money.  Alfonsina insists Elisa is wrong and tells Elisa that she is able to save the procesadora without Elisa’s help.  Alfonsina says that she can’t continue fighting Damien on everything.  Alfonsina knows that Damien will give up all for Elisa including his inheritance and his last name.  He’d even cut ties with his own mother for Elisa.  That’s what she’s trying to avoid.  She’s willing to tolerate Elisa (the daughter of the woman who she believes killed her husband) as both a business partner and daughter-in-law.   I’m feeling a bit dizzy again.

Hacienda Arango:  While lounging on his bed, Damien removes his Elisa bait (aka amulet) and puts it in the top drawer of his night-stand.   Alfonsina enters the bedroom and tells Damien that she told Elisa that she will not stop a marriage between the two of them.  Oops, another one bites the dust.   Damien just passed out too. Luckily for you, I’m willing to take one for the team and give Damien mouth to mouth.….OK, he’s back.  OK…maybe not.  Please be patient, this might take a few more minutes of making out and feeling his chest…I mean mouth to mouth and chest compressions…to revive him.

Alfonsina tells Dam that she went to ask Elisa to marry him.  Translation:  his mommy asked Elisa to marry him.  Damien doesn’t believe her.  Alfonsina tells him that she will no longer interfere in his affairs.  He has the right to live his own life.  She admits that she screwed his life up.  Translation:  his mommy has weaned him from her breast milk. He can eat solid food now.

Casa de Castanon:  Braulio and holds Dolores.  Dolores tells Elisa that Horacio wants to kidnap her.  She recounts that Horacio chloroformed her and she lost consciousness.  Elisa thanks Braulio for saving Dolores.  Braulio tells Elisa that the mall security guards (there are no police in La Ermita) have already been alerted.  Braulio asks Elisa permission to sleep over in order to “help protect Dolores”.  He will “protect Dolores” by sleeping in her bed and making sure her milk is warmed and does not spoil.  Elisa agrees.

Hacienda Arango:  Damien doubts his mother’s sincerity. Alfonsina informs Dam that she knows about the business agreement between Elisa and Damien and she won’t stop it.  Noticing that he is without his amulet, Alfonsina removes his Elisa-magnet (aka the amulet) from the night-stand and tells him to put it back on.  She does not want that little red-headed cash cow to get away from them (ahem..him).

Casa de Castanon:  Dolores is all bummed out because she married the dumbest criminal EVER.  Dolores believes that Horacio killed Lupe, Agosto and…Blanca.  Elisa sobs in Dolores’ arms.

Casa de Gall and Palobotomy:  It’s late and Gall is not home because he’s at the cantina, sobbing in his beer and thinking of Elisa.  The following morning, he returns home and Paloma confronts him about staying out all night.  She tells him not to punish her because he lost Elisa.  Gall takes his shirt off and walks towards the bedroom.

Love Shack!  Baby Love Shack!:  Carmina lounges in bed as Gabby sits at the vanity and slaps on a little Brute.   Gosh, I wish I could sniff him.  He’s preparing for his meeting with Alfonsina.  He’s going to be a shareholder in the procesadora as Rosendo would have wanted.

Casa de Castanon:  It looks like Gall only stayed home long enough to change his shirt.  He tells Elisa that it was a mistake to marry Paloma.  He’s made the honorable decision to abandon his wife and unborn child and pursue a relationship with Elisa.

Hacienda Arango Alfonsina’s Office:  Gabby gives Alfonsina the deposit slip and tells her that all of the cash has been deposited into her account.  She calls the bank to check her account balance.

Casa de Castanon:  Elisa tells Gall that he can’t leave a pregnant chick.  He’s tells Elisa how much he loves her.  He only married Paloma because Elisa told him to do it.  He’s tried everything to fall in love with Paloma like staying out all night, not spending any time with her and rejecting her sexually, but nothing is working.  Gall can’t get Elisa out of his mind!  He lists all of Elisa’s body parts that he would like to fondle.  She gets grossed out and tells him to shut up.  Gall says that he drinks at the cantina so that Paloma will not see him pining for Elisa.  Besides, Paloma keeps trying to have sex with him and he’s trying to stay faithful to Elisa.  Gall says that Elisa would have married Dam by now, if she really loved him.  The fact that she has not married Dam gives Gall hope that that he still has a chance with her.  He tries making out with her, but she screams down the house until Dolores shows up.

Hacienda Arango:  After determining that the money has been transferred to her account.  Alfonsina tells Gabby, that he will never be part owner of the procesadora.  She’s keeping the money because it’s payback for the money that he and Paolo embezzled from her.  She tells Gabby that he is a “nobody” and that money doesn’t buy a last name.  He is not, nor will he ever be an Arango.  Gabby tells her to either make him a partner or return his money.  She will do neither.  If he keeps bothering her, she will put him in jail.  Gabby says that she is using big words…speak Spanish.  She slows down so that he can understand her clearly.  Alfonsina tells Gabby that he’s a useless dog.  She goes to the door and tells her bouncers to throw him out.  Gabby says that he made the company great and the he will not allow Damien to take the credit for the success of the company.  Alfonsina calls him a “bastard with dreams of greatness”.  Gabby is getting a migraine and grabs his head.  Gabby says that she will regret this.

Downtown La Ermita Outside of the Cantina:  Carmina is walking down the street when she spots Carito walking in the opposite direction.  Well, Carito wasn’t on this telenovela long enough for me to become attached.  I expected her to die anyway.  Unaware that she is being followed, Carito pops into the cantina for a bite to eat.

Procesadora:  Dam Fine, Don Lucio and a lawyer are hanging out Dam Fine’s office.  Because she is being molested by Gall, Elisa is extremely late for the meeting.  Dam Fine assumes that she is not coming to sign the paperwork and dismisses the attorney.  Suddenly, Elisa enters the office.  Before signing the papers, she wants to speak with Damien alone.  She tells him that she agrees to be his business partner and his wife.

Cantina:  Ummmm Uh Oh!  Carmina looks like she’s in the mood to scrap.  Carito doesn’t look like she’s ever been in a fight in her life.  Carmina throws down her purse on one of the tables and starts cussing.  How much did Elisa pay Carito to deceive Carmina!  Carito tells her to relax; she doesn’t do scenes.  Carmina says that Carito should have thought of that before screwing with her.  Carito explains that she only deceived Carmina in order to help Elisa win the war.  She knows that Carmina has tortured Elisa since she was a child.  Carmina says that there is two sides of the story and begins to lists all of Elisa’s faults.  Carmina says that Elisa killed her son by smothering him when Carmina was in the bathroom.   Carmina gets all up in Carito’s grill.  Suddenly, Dr. Tovar tells Carmina to shut up and orders her to step away from Carito.  Carmina isn’t surprised that Carito knows Dr. Tovar since he’s attracted to liars and thieves.  Carmina retreats, but not before telling Dr. Tovar that he is boring.

Procesadora:  Damien moves closer to Elisa.  He tells her that he’s happy and wants to get a little smoochie poo to seal the deal.  He’s surprised that she has agreed to marry him since she’s been so mean to him lately.  She pushes him away and tells him that the marriage is a business deal.  She wants to work out the terms and conditions of the marriage.  Damien objects.   Elisa threatens to work out the terms with his mother.  She may not be wearing her Dam Fine bait, but she brought along her two boobies and some daisy dukes.  After she bends over the desk, Dam Fine agrees to everything.  1.  They will be married in name only for two years.  He doesn’t care; he can make her love him again in two years.  2.  At the end of the two years, he gets all of his shares back and she gets her freedom without out a fight.  He agrees to that too.  Elisa stresses that the marriage will be sexless.  Little Dam stands up and says that he will never agree to that.  Elisa threatens to bounce.  Dam Fine agrees and says that he won’t force her to give it up (notice that he didn’t say that he wasn’t going to try to seduce her).  Dam Fine wants her to say away from Gall.  She agrees and tells him that she is marrying him so that Gall will leave her alone.  Damien gets jealous and accuses her of still being hooked on Gall.  She makes him agree not to bring Gall up again.  Also, he wants to know how soon they can get married.  Saturday, she says.  He touches her chest and she touches his.  His dimples are showing.  Sigh!  Commercial.

Procesadora:  The notary and Don Lucio are back in the room.  Elisa and Dam review the contracts; there’s nothing to sign until the contracts are recorded.  After the notary leaves, Dam Fine tells Lucio that they are going to be married.  Lucio congratulates them and gives them both a hug.  The engagement dinner is tonight.  Elisa will take care of the details with Alfonsina.  Lucio is confused.  Dam looks pleased, but Elisa looks kind of “whatever”.   Dam Fine tells Lucio that he is thrilled about the marriage; he’s going to make her very happy.

Hacienda de Arango:  Elisa visits Alfonsina and tells her that she has agreed to marry Dam Fine and they are now business partners.  Upon hearing the great news, Alfonsina tries not to vomit and develops a severe facial tic.  Alfonsina wants to know when and where they will marry.  Elisa doesn’t care.  Alfonsina takes out a diamond boulder and tries handing it to Elisa.  Elisa doesn’t want it.  Elisa thinks the ring is bad luck.  Alfonsina says that she’s always kept the expensive ring for her son’s wife. That was so tacky of Alfonsina.  Elisa zings Alfonsina by telling her that she may not be able to afford to give her that ring.  Alfonsina insists that she’s still rich.  Elisa wants Alfonsina to arrange the engagement party for tonight.  Alfonsina delegates the responsibility to Tonia.  Paragraph translation:  your mommy just asked a girl to marry you and tried to give her a cursed family heirloom that your mommy and ex-wife wore.  This ring says: DIVORCE!  Understandably, Elisa wants Damien to present her with a ring that he purchased that has nothing to do with his mommy.

Procesadora:  Carmina is hanging out in Damien’s office.  The crazy music starts as she has a flashback of mackin’ on Rosendo in that very spot.  She asks Rosendo to abandon his family and leave town with her.  Damien interrupts her thoughts and wants to know what the hell she’s doing there.  He sits down at his desk and tells her to get out.  She touches his back, but he jumps as if he was bitten by a snake.    Dam Kravitz informs her that he and Elisa will marry at the end of the week and she is not invited because of her winning personality.  He opens the door and tells her to “get to steppin or he will call security!”

Procesadora Reception Area:  Carmina thinks Damien is lying.  She can’t believe that Elisa will marry him after seeing him making out with her in the cenote…..Maru interrupts her thoughts.

Love Shack!  Baby Love Shack!  Gabby has a stress headache and puts a pistol to his head.  Carmina yanks the gun out of his hand.  He explains that Alfonsina took all of their money.  They have nothing left.

Casa de Castanon:  Elisa tries to convince Dolores that she is marrying Dam Fine for business, not for love.  Dolores ain’t buying it.  Elisa believes that only marriage to Damien will stop Gall’s obsession with her.  Elisa says that she both hates and loves Damien.

Greenhouse:  Dam Fine informs Gall that he and Elisa are getting married at the end of the week.

Back at the Love Shack!  Baby Love Shack!  Carmina is in a rage.  She calls Gabby and dog and puts him out.  Dogs sleep in the streets, she says.  She tells him not to come back without her money.

Greenhouse:  Gall believes that Damien is blackmailing Elisa into marrying him so quickly.  I’m marrying Elisa and no one and nothing will stop me, says Damien.

Witch Mountain:  Gabby falls to his knees and begs Granny Clampett to mix up a potion that will take away his headache.  When she turns her back on him, he moves closer to her.  At that point, she pulls out a machete and threatens to make him a eunuch.  He says that if Remedios was there, she would have never let him suffer like this.  Ramona says that her daughter is dead because of him.  He gets the hint and leaves.  Translation:  being tossed out by three women in one day has got to be a blow to his self-esteem.

Hacienda de Arango:  Alfonsina has an intimate engagement party to celebrate the upcoming nuptials.  The guests include Don Lucio, Braulio and Dolores.  Alfonsina tells Tonia to serve everyone (including Braulio and Dolores) champagne.  She reluctantly does it and Dolores politely turns away laughs and sniggers when Tonia serves her.  Damien tells Elisa that she looks beautiful.  She tells him that their relationship is simply business…nothing more.  Again, Damien displays his deep dimples with a pretty smile and decides to let her continue to play hard to get.  Dam plans to have her on her flat on her back and screaming his name come Saturday night.

So funny, you are in rare form today. Loved your translations too, by the way. Dam dearly doesn't want to be a mommas boy anymore and wear big boy pants.
I will laugh if Gael shows up at the wedding riding a horse. Would the monkeys do that again?

I felt sorry so sorry for Gabino.

Braulio was not fooling anyone. He's just trying to get into Dolores' bed. Why can't he take her to his house? He could "watch" her better there.

Thank you Cynderella for this recap. Looks like yet another bizarre episode from Jerry SpringerLand.

I have not had a chance to watch my recording yet. The entire cast of characters are so whack that I may not even bother to watch this train wreck.

So, Elisa really did faint? Then she is probably preggers.

Elisa's marriage terms/ proposal are ridiculous. A celibate marriage for two years? Dam must not be that great in the sand … er … hay. Gah.

Elisa did not pass out, nor did Damien. When I write recaps, I sometimes (OK OFTEN) rewrite the story. I write what happens in the episode, but I EXAGGERATE a lot of things. I always assume people have watched or will watch the episode. I'm sorry for the confusion and they know that I am kidding. Sorry about that.

Gael is too much. I can't see how he ends up surviving to the end. Usually someone like him who never seems to be able to change, end up dying. But I haven't seen future episodes, it's only my opinion.

I was also hoping that Ramona would cut a deal with Gab. She helps him get rid of the pain if he confesses about everything to the police.u

Cynderellla, you're not exaggerating, you're just letting wishful thinking take over.

Thank you Cynderella! Oh yes, we know you exaggerate. When telling a story a good storyteller is obliged to embellish a bit. Your readers expect it and in fact we would become annoyed if you did not.

Favorite Cynder quote: "He’s tried everything to fall in love with Paloma like staying out all night, not spending any time with her and rejecting her sexually, but nothing is working." Bwahahahaaa! I want to divorce her too. It's not that she's actually wrong, it's just that she's so darn annoying!

I thought Elisa looked fabulous when she showed up for the engagement dinner. She looked like Stef.

Awesome recap my dear. I do look forward to my Saturday mornings when I can relax, enjoy a cup of tea and read my Cynderella recap.

Thank you for this delightful recap!

Cathyx, I agree with you about Gael. Now he thinks Damian "convinced" Elisa to marry him. Elisa isn't completely marrying Damian for love but Damian doesn't seem to mind helping her keep Gael away.

Poor Gabino. He has a never ending headache.

I wonder if everyone will believe Alfie wants the best for her son and won't interfere in his life. Maybe Alfie can convince Gael to steer clear. But she sure tricked Gab about making him think she would let him be her business partner.

TF, I was very impressed with the way that Alfie handled Gabino. He should have seen it coming so shame on him, but he was still very scary when he threatened Alfie. That lady has nerves of steel. I feel a bit sorry for our favorite villain. He had a REALLY BAD day.

I think it was Urban A who pointed out that if Dam and Elisa get married then the Arango Proce will once again be completely back in the family. I'm sure this little detail has not eluded the Black Widow.

How dumb was Gabino to deposit that money into Alf's account without signing papers first? I thought he was smarter than that.

Thanks for the re-cap...I was sure I heard that Gabino was another of Rosendo's splattered about seeds.

That guy got around a lot but I guess Gabino was just someone else's bad seed.

Just a note to all that Monday is going to be 2 hours and start an hour early.

The avances seem to show a lot of rifle action with Gael possibly jumping in front of Damian and getting shot.

And no-one jumping in front of Elisa and getting shot and her supposed last word is...Damian.

Might be the end? Don't know.

A very mixed up and bloody telenovela.

Peace to all, Tiempe.

Sylvia, I was too impressed by Alfie. I think she's slowly gaining her redemption.

I forgot to mention that I loved when Dam and Elisa were sorting out the details of their deal when they agreed Dam grabbed Elisa's hand to touch his heart and he touched hers. That was a smooth move on his part hehe.

Looks like Carmina may take action to ruin Elisa's life even further...when will it end?

Tiempe-
I just checked 2 different TV guides and both are showing only a one hour show at 9:00 pm on Monday. Can someone else confirm?

Tiempe, did you mean the Gran Final on Nov 5?

Tiempe, did you mean the Gran Final on Nov 5?

Cathyx, I think tiempe means the finale which is a week from Monday. Makes sense since TN finales are usually 2 hours.
--TF

I hope so, cause she can give me a heart attack otherwise. And it appears that my cc's are back in action, so no problems for this Monday.

Tiempe, did you mean the Gran Final on Nov 5?

At last! Our computer and tv sets have been down most of the day (thanks Time Warner) so I'm now enjoying this recap after some miserable hours of raking leaves in the cold (instead of watching football until my eyes fall out.)

Anyway, as always, you were worth the wait Cynderella. Your juicy, raunchy take on life is such a treat. Case in point:
"after she bends over the desk, he[Damian] agrees to everything."

You.are.bad.

My other favorite was your mention of the Mall Security Guards, since obviously la Ermita has no real police. Indeed.

Enjoyed Ramona's wielding of the machete last night. Poor poor Gabino. He pithed off the wrong women, that's for sure.

But I know with your compassionate heart, you'd be willing to cut him some slack, Cynderella. Me too!

Thanks for yet another hilarious naughty recap, Cynderella. You bring such spice to our weekends.

cathyx,

"I thought he was smarter than that."

So did I, but I'm cutting him some slack... after all, he does have a bullet in his brain.

Drinks are on me at the Alfonsina table. Cool and in control... the perfect cold fish.

Though I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, I record Grimm each Friday night and watch it later since it comes on on NBC at the same time as Abismo de Pasión. Last night the episode was called La Llarona.

What a treat. Lots of Spanish, a subject we're all familiar with, and guest starring my first telenovia, Kate del Castillo. Oh my, the way she speaks English... be still my heart.

Carlos

Thanks for all of your kind comments. This week, the only part of the recap that I meant to be rauchy was the very last line. I was trying to think like a man. My mother used to tell me that if a man really wants a woman, he will do anything to get her. Male readers, please help me out. Cuz, I'm not a man and the theory could be completely wrong.

Anyways, Dam Fine wants Elisa anyway he can get her. Like I wrote last week, everyone knows that Dam Fine can have Elisa anytime he wants her. She's just angry right now. I feel dumb for analyzing a fictional character. His goal is to marry her and procreate with her for life. He has to momentarily put up with her chihuahua bark in order to reach his goal. Last week, at the cantina, he had to break the kisses. At Gall and Paloma's wedding, she made out with him a little until she came to her senses. When the mariachis serenaded her, she was making googoo eyes at him. That makes me think that he truly was "good in the sand" Doris. He knows that she's just talking BS and he has to put up with it. Now that they're getting married, she's gotta to be alone with him sometime. He allows her to "F" with him, because he knows that ultimately, he's gonna win. I don't know if what I'm saying made sense. LOL

P.S. I wrote so much that I forgot my point in my previous comment. Anyways, my point was that I was trying to think like a man. Damien lets her say dumb things to him like "we won't have sex for two years". If believing that BS makes her feel better, he will not try to disuade her because he has other things in mind. In his mind, he's thinking, Saturday night, you are all mine. Seriously, she's like a little dropkick dog that does a lot of barking. You just put up with the annoyance because it's cute, but if you really wanted to, you could use your power and punt it across the room. Damien's just waiting until the honeymoon to punt her across the room. OK dumb analogy. LOL

Oh Lord, Cynderella..."she's just a little dropkick dog"....that's a keeper. So are you.

Well, hope all posters in the path of Sandy are hunkered down.

Gael proves the theory that nature triumphs over nurture, he's currently exhibiting bad traits from his double wammy genetic pool Ingrid and Rosendo, when he had beautiful Padre Lupe to model. What a mess, I don't even want to waste anymore cyber ink talking about him!

If we could have been blessed with this cute "Doris Day/Rock Hudson" phase of the Dam/Elisa relationship a little earlier, this novela might have brought us more heart warming laughs instead of, "OMG, look at what the stooopids are doing today!"

Carlos, I do think Alfie is moving toward the light, and I'm happy for her.  I'm going to wish for a complete conversion, it would have made Padre Lupe so very happy to see his words of wisdom take root and grow in her soul. But......she is still prideful and selfish, she needs a few more "The Voice," flashbacks, his words are there for her to use.

Cynderella, speaking of selfish, what are we going to do without your Friday recaps, the weekends won't be the same without your comic masterpieces! Yes, you are a keeper!!! THANKS!

I noticed a few comments about Gancho the other day, that was such a charming novela, I miss it!

Loved the entire recap Cynderella! Loved your mouth to mouth revival of Dam Gorgeous. I'm sure he appreciated it!

Is it just me or was Elisa dressed up as Steffie at the engagement party? The hair, her jewelry, the dress? And as confusing as Alfies behavior is, Elisa's is acting like a crazy lady. You see the love of your life kissing your AUNT whom you despise and you....tell him you want to marry him?! And the way she was talking to Alfie when they were planning the dinner was odd--as if SHE had something up her sleeve.

6 episodes for them to make us like Gael. Is it possible?

I thought Delores' sniggering was rude. No matter what has happened between them, she shouldn't make fun of Tonias having to serve her.

Thanks again, Cynderella. I also loved "calls mall security. There are no police in la Ermita! Lol

Katy

Cynderella- Your style was just perfect for the Tracy-Hepburn games our main couple are playing. Why couldn't the writers give us this playfullness before?! I just wish that Dam knew that Elisa has never, nor is currently, boinking Gael; and that Elisa knew that Dam has never, nor is currently, boinking her tia. I would enjoy these current games more if I didn't know they were going to have some inane argument about exactly these two things sometime in the next two episodes.

Elisa did look smashing, and she was wearing her mom's necklace, and probably on of her old dresses too.

I am sick to death and bored to tears with Gael and Paloma. I wish he's open the damn envelope already!

I have been out with one of those fuzzy-headed colds the last couple of days, and I've gotta tell you nothing clears out the sinuses like snorting repeatedly to one of Cynder's recaps! What a treat and what a cure!

As much as it pains me to say it, Elisa was just beautiful at the party. Katy, I think you are right about channeling Estefania in her wardrobe. She really looked so pretty.

My Comcast TV Guide is saying that El Gran Finale will be 2 hours long, and that one hour before the Gran Finale is the Gran Noche. I wonder if the Gran Noche is simply a quick recap of the series, or perhaps will it be interviews with the actors?

All I know is all of my friends who have married (which is everyone b/c I'm the last one standing, LOL), their husbands snapped them up like bread, eggs, & milk before a bad storm. They did not waste time, they ran them down to the altar ASAP.

Me? "I care about you, but...as a FRIEND™"

So I think there's something to that theory, that if a man really wants you, he's gonna do what it takes to get you. But I also think if a woman really wants to be with a man, she's not going to hesitate either:

Well, let's apply this to Elisa: if Elisa really wanted Gael, she would have married him. Dam charging in on horseback with a gun wouldn't have stopped her from marrying Gael. In fact, I think Paloma is 3 months pregnant and I think she was about a month pregnant at Gael/Elisa's wedding. So for the past 2 months, if Elisa really wanted to marry Gael she could have done so...dude, she's just not that into you.

Also, this isn't Dam/Elisa's first trip down the aisle...they would be married today if Augusto hadn't busted in and shot Damian.

Even if Damian/Elisa married, Gael still won't stop harassing Elisa because then he'll claim she still wants him because she hasn't had children with Damian yet, etc. etc.

Anon 207 - I used to think everyone was going for the long engagement, let's-live-together-first approach, but just this last month, 3 of my former workers have gotten married after having known the guy for less than 6 months. Coincidentally, all 3 couples met on Match.com. Go figure.

Rosemary la Otra:

I know a couple that's been living together for years who are getting married next year...the bride is in her 20s, the groom is in his mid-30s.

But most of my female friends married in their late 20s/early to mid 30s and their husbands snapped them up with no time to waste.

I have a feeling if I ever marry, it will be a very quick situation as well.

Hi All,

I just checked programming and it is definitely on at it's normal time on Monday night.

I still have trouble with Spanish and I saw Lunes and starting at 8 instead of 9. Must be like someone else said that it is the finale for 2 hours.

Sorry. Still learning.

Good luck to all.

Peace to all, Tiempe.

Hi Tiempe, seems most of us are just trying to learn so no worries!

In Utah, the finale starts an hour early pre-empting Por Ella. The Gran Noche starts an hour before that pre-empting Refugio. So basically from 6 - 9 is The Pit.

Now...are we still planning on dressing up and posting pictures?

OK, I have another theory about living together. Don't anyone send hate mail to me. When a woman moves in with a man, she pretty much believes that he is "the one". When a man moves in with a woman, he's testing her out. That's why I always tell my friends that if he really loves you, he'll marry you. Some of my friends have waited around for "years and years" hoping that he will finally do them a favor and pop the question. I have a cousin, who did eventually marry the guy that she was living with, but she was in agony the entire time. 7 years of mental anguish.

I used to ask her, what more does he have to know about you? What's he waiting for? He's met your parents, he knows where you work, he lives with you, so he knows your personal habits, he sleeps with you and he's still there, so you're compatible. I didn't get what the holdup was.

Anyways, I think that Elisa loves Dam Fine, she's just pissed right now. She'll snap out of it soon.

There is no doubt that Elisa will not be able to go two years without falling, willingly, into Damian's arms. I don't even thing she'll be able to go two weeks! And yes, he knows it, so why not go along with this "contract" marriage. This is very different from Paloma's marriage situation with Gael. I will be amazed if the writers somehow pull off a change of heart in Gael's part and he falls for Paloma.

I just hope that IF Gael has a change of heart it is not pregnancy-related. That would send the wrong message to a girl thinking she'll trap a guy.

I hope she'll move back with Ramona and Gael will miss her and romance her back.

I am changing my travel plans to be in town for El Gran Final(and also to make sure I'm in line to vote the next morning)and yes, R la O, I am totally dressing up. I finally found a skirt that's short enough and God knows I can't wear it anywhere else.

Blue - can't wait to see your RameraWear! I have my outfit planned too. It's not revealing, but it is in poor taste. I am ashamed of myself for thinking it's funny.

I'm ashamed of you, too. Maybe we should wear masks. ;}

Speaking of which, I'm disappointed no one has remarked upon my topless-seamstress avatar. Of course she's wearing more than Elisa typically wears to church, but still.

I finally plugged it into Spanishdict so ahora yo intiendo your avatar! It is hilarious! Certainly you made it. There can't be another half naked Castanon working in a sewing shop.

Cynderella, another one right out of the park for you... you sure are one of a kind.

loved... the same quote Sylvia loved... about Gael trying to fall for Paloma (doing all the wrong things)...

also loved Gabino having a strike out with the three women on the same day... (he has certainly tried with all 3 women who boinked with Rosie: ALfie, Carm and Ingrid) and has never been able to get them to respect him the way they did Rosie.

Sandy, totally agree that Gael is really slipping into the land of no return... Rosemary has a good idea, why doesn't Paloma go back with Ramona and let Gael feel the 'hole' of not having her around... maybe then he will miss what he had with her and never really appreciated... and that could cause a change of heart better than just nagging at him every day and every night...

Sandy, also agree with you on Dam/Elisa last night reminding us of the Rock Hudson/Doris Day movies, esp pillow talk... those went back and forth, and he would tease her, she would keep rejecting him but you could tell it would be a matter of time...
Love Dam's dimples... even if he does look like a rodent when serious.

Marta--"love Dams dimples, even if he looks like a rodent when he's serious"!! Hahahahaha!!!

Why is Dam so darn adorable? ITA with everyone who would have loved to see more cute Rock and Doris chemistry and less of the ridiculous plot devices that keep them apart. Isn't this TN a bit unusual in that our two love birds are more like support characters and rarely together!? Weird.

Katy

Cynderella thanks so much for this hilarious recap. I would agree w/your analysis of men and women for what its worth.

ITA w/those of you who enjoy Dam/Elisa Rock/Doris moments. It's too bad the monkey writers don't recognize the good stuff. You would all be so much fun in my rom-com class when I show "Pillow Talk."

Hi everyone! Rosemary La Otra found this commercial on youtube. It stars our lovely Lolita advertising shampoo: Eugenia Cauduro and Pantene

Blue Lass, I'm so glad you'll be in town for the Gran Final. Should be fun! I don't know what I'm going to wear but it definitely will NOT be short shorts. I can't believe I didn't notice your avatar babe is topless!

Thanks for posting that Sylvia! Eugenia es hermosa!

R la O, when did you change your avatar? I keep missing all the details. I must be "un petit pe deranger" as the French say.

Yes, Eugenia is stunning. I don't think it's just Lolita's outfits that make her seem so beautiful.

Omigosh! Such beautiful black hair! And I do like the way Mexican ads don't limit themselves to 20-year-olds...

Hoping to get to this episode tonight -- although I doubt if I'll enjoy it as much as Cynderella did. ;}

Sylvia - my avatar is poking fun at Elisa's crying. Doesn't it seem like something she'd say?

Blue - did you write yours? How did you do that?

R la O, you can make them on www.someecards.com -- it's a lot of fun, even without the accent marks.

After the first one you had I went to Pinterest and tried to find Spanish ones. It pulled up some Cuando pics! It also pulled up a Cuando music video with Sofia Vergara as a school principal. No wonder I couldn't find the Spanish memes. You clever, clever girl.

Thanks, Cynderella, for this hilarious recap. How glad we are that you were there to offer Damian succor in his time of need. Grin. You are a generous soul, no doubt about it.

I can't recall or do not know where all of you live, but I know that Vivi, Urban Anthropologist, Blue Lass, and many others on this blog are in the path of the Storm. To all of you and all those others who may be affected—please take care. I am sending you my kindest thoughts.

EJ

Thanks, EJ! We expect Sandy to be tuckered out by the time she gets all the way up here...hope all the other East Coasters have laid in plenty of Knorr Suisse & tostachos.

Ditto the kind words of my amiga EJ.

Glad to hear it Blue Lass. I'm worried about my pals in New Jersey but they say they are hunkered down with lots of supplies and expect to be safe but without power for about a week. Yikes! As of 8:00 a.m. Eastern time they already had 30-40 knots of wind. I also have some friends in NYC that had to evacuate. Extreme weather can be very frightening.

Thanks for the kind wishes EJ and other amigas. All is still well here-- meaning I still have power and sufficient entertainment at home.

Loved your recap, Cynderella.

I don't comment much because anything I might write has always been posted.

Recappers and commenters are super! I watch all the novelas and read all recaps and comments and just love them. Thanks for all you guys do.

Oh, oh, my lites are flickering! I hope we get our novelas this evening. It's really blowing up....

Ann-NYC

Ann, do be careful! If you miss any episodes you can watch them later online.

Wow, here I am back in Oaxaca for a week or so enjoying the written words and original recaps since I won't see the end of this but only live it vicariously through your rose colored eyes. Cynderella, you never disappoint and everyone else was on high humor alert this weekend too. I look forward to reading this weeks slow bump and grind toward the finish line.
Abrazos y besos a todos,
CherylOaxaca, the fanatic formerly or often known as CherylNewMex. Buenas noches.

Cheryl, so great to hear from you! I'm glad you are enjoying Oaxaca. Love your avatar. Is that a Oaxacan beanie?

Actually, Sylvia, I just changed it. The flower garland was from the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe this past July when I served as an interpreter for the Zapotec women's rug collective that had a booth there.

The new one is me on the Gaia side looking at Porto in Portugal in October.

Lovely to reconnect with everyone, this is a sure way to make you laugh. And I love that someone, wasn't it Rosemary that as much as declared Cynderella a curandera who could clear the basic cold stuffed head with her snort with all your might humorous barbs! This is one talented group. Also tengan cuidado todos en el sombra de Sandy.

OT: for all of you out there in the Pittsburgh, Ohio area: please stay safe... i see the storm is right over you all now.

Cheryl! I was just thinking about you and hoping to "see" you again -- got a next telenovela in mind?
