Refugio Para el Amor #141 Thu 10/25/12 Rosa's Plan Backfires, Luci Sees Her Son But Does She Recognize Him?
Funeral Home, D.F.
We open this epi tonight with Rosa just having heard the "Osito" word she has been so hell bent on finding out. She saunters into the room and Max greets her. Rosa la loca goes right up to Vicky and expresses her condolonces on behalf of her and Max. Vicky is lookin' scared and Rosa comments what a hard worker and great man Don Jeronimo was. Vicky is really crying and Rosa says it's best if they leave Vicky to her grief. Vicky thanks them for being there. Rosa and Max go and Vicky is left alone with her grief.
Nicole and Aldo have a little cafecito outside and Nicole can't beleive that Max and Rosa came, and Vicky is really taking this hard. Aldo says Don J worked for the Torreslanda firm many years. They go back inside to be with Vicky so she isn't alone.
Oscar, Conny and Claudio are standing together and can't beleive that Don Jeronimo is dead. Was he sick, they wonder? Claudio says he was talking with him just the other day, Oscar gives him a funny look.
Rod and Pato are talking and Rod asks how Pato is doing? Pato says by the grace of Dios he would be here too, if he hadn't had quick care after his accident. Rod says he is glad Pato is still with them. Rod asks after Luci, look dude couldn't you ever ask her yourself? Really! Pato tells Rod that Luci is looking for her son, Pato was going to go with her, but since Don J died, he came to the wake/funeral instead. Rod says the P.I.'s have checked everywhere but nothing, absolutely no new info. Rod says they and he will never stop looking he swears. In come Vicky and Aldo. Rosa la loca holds out her arms to Vicky as a show of condolence and Vicky has no choice to be embraced by this viper of a woman. Rosa loudly says I am so sorry for your loss, and then pulls Vicky close in her arms and whispers in her ear, but it's a shame you are alive "Osita"! Vicky is shocked, she can't say a thing. Then Rosa la loca goes to Max and tells him, I know you want to be here in Vicky's time of need, but you got more important things to do, like talk to Hanna. Max gets a puzzled look on his face, and Rosa la loca goes close to his ear and the viper is spitting her venom and says Adios "Ostio", Max is shocked, I tell you shocked! The look on his face, like busted! Vicky cries in the background and Vicky watches as they leave and Rod takes Max's place by the coffin. Rosa is stomping out of that funeral home and Max wants to know what talk with Hanna? Rosa tells him you had an affair, you made me confess all to the children (Ahem: There are more sins piled up than you can shake a stick at lady, jus' sayin") and now it's your turn. She leaves Max stranded as Gennaro takes Rosa la loca off. This is her new planes! Make Max confess all in front of his children about the amante!
Orphanage In The D.F.
We see a sister walking the grounds of a really nice looking orphanage in the city. The Mother Superior is meeting with Luciana, her name is Josephina. Madre asks her how she can help her. Luciana asks how is it the children come here, are they abandoned? Madre tells her it really depends. Some are but others young women, too young to be mothers, drop them off at the orphanage. Luciana can't understand how that can be, being a mother is the most wonderful thing in the world. Speaking of young, Luci is in this group really, the girl is only nineteen. We haven't celebrated her 20th yet. Madre asks Luci if she is a mama? Luci says yes, but due to an accident she lost her bebe and Madre is very sympathetic. Luci wonders if someone could have dropped her bebe off at this orphange. The Madre is shocked, and says she can't recall anything like that recently but will get her book, to see if there is anything logged in at that time frame. Luci asks if she can wait in the nursery. The Madre says she can. Luci picks up one of the bebe's and says what is your name. Then she begs Dios again, where is my bebe, my lil Roddy. She smiles and has tears in her eyes as she is holding this bebe.
Rosa la loca in the car with Gennaro, Phoning Hanna at the Cafe at the Prepa
Rosa la loca is telling Hanna she cannot miss dinner at home, no excuse. Click! Hanna is with Lula. Lula is once again giving poor Hanna grief about how Lorenzo is so not good for her, he is a taco seller, and he is only after your money! She tells Hanna we are like sisters, listen to me. (Note to Lula: STFU already and go after Boris yourself and stop giving Hanna grief!). Well, after Lula insinuates that Lor only wants Hanna's money, Hanna lets her have it and says I broke up with Boris, and now I'm going. Hanna goes, but Lula talks to herself and says wait till you find out Boris went to your mama and told on you nanny, nanny, boo, boo. See what I said in the note to Lula.
Orphanage in the D.F.
The Madre has brought the books for Luci to look at. Luci crosses herself and says a little prayer to the Virgincita for help. They pore over the books.
Park in the D.F.
Don Chelo is singing with lil Mateo watching and a crowd is gathering as Don Chelo is singing about Della Citta. He passes the hat around and everyone gives, except a well dressed man who looks at Don Chelo and shakes his head. Dona Chuy comes up and tells Don Chelo they gotta go. She is ready to take Mateo for his shots. They go.
Back to the Orphanage:
Luci is walking out of the orphanage with a profound look of sadness on her face, and she is walking through the beautiful garden at the orphanage, wondering who could have taken her lil Roddy and saying a prayer again for her to find him. She is very disconsolate.
Torreslanda Home, Kitchen:
La loca is telling Mati that she found out who the lover of Max is this Osita, but she is having a dinner so Max can tell his kids all about it. Mati is looking at Rosa like she is crazy, and Rosa of course has that almighty, I am sinless, look on her face. Rosa orders Mati to make sure she calls Rod and Pato to make sure they are at this dinner. Mati wants to know about Hanna? Rosa says she already talked to Hanna herself. Mati is looking way uncomfortable. (Note to Mati: Come on now woman, make her some of that sleeptime tea the villians in TN's always make to knock her out, thereby avoiding what will be a nefarious confrontation, jus' sayin'.
Back at the Funeral Home:
Vicky tells Aldo that la loca knows about her and Max and called Vicky "Osita". Vicky is scared plenty now that la loca knows, but Aldo says he will defend her, no worries. Vicky is mad cause Don J's death was the fault of Max.
Cafe in the D.F.
Looks like Max called his lil princessa, that would be Hanna, for a little coffee klatch so they could talk. What about you say, you'll see. She tells Max , her Mama called her, but she is glad to be meeting with her Papa, she gives him a huge hug and he is lookin' a little worried as he hugs her back.
Rod and Gagme's Apartment of Hate and Gloom with a Tiny Ray of Sunshine:
Gagme is complaining about what you ask? I don't know, I think maybe her cesearan scar maybe, I'd like to FF>> but I don't dare, I might miss her next plot, jus' sayin'. The nurse brings up to Gagme that the new formula the pedatrician suggested seems to be working really well. Frigid steps in at this point, I have the odd feeling Frigid is tryin' to protect the bebe from Gagme, and says don't bother the Senora bout that, I'm in charge, having any problems come to me, understand? Gagme is likin that and tells Frigid you are in charge. Gagme and Champagne Queen go. Frigid says something to the nurse, I don't quite catch, but it seems to benefit the bebe. Someone please comment.
Never Ending Curves Car Wash:
Serena is washing a car, while said owner of car is telling Serena how good a job she is doing, while he oogles her. She says if I do a good job, then you can recommend the car wash, he says of course. Meanwhile, Luci has dropped in on Vio to say hi, and how she is in the 'hood visiting orphanages looking for lil Roddy. Luci says she just can't wait around for those P.I.'s anymore. Vio asks her aren't the Torreslanda's and your Papa Claudio still lookin? Luci says yes, but she wants to look for herself.
Park in the D.F.
It's time for the "talk" with Hanna. Hanna and Max are sitting on a park bench and Max is tryin' to work up the courage to tell Hanna bout his little chippy on the side. He tells her he has something to tell her. She is concerned. He starts off with, you know how I adore your Mama? Can I please barf now, oh, sorry, on with the convo. He tells her that the love was strong and couldn't be broken. He tells Hanna he married Rosa cause she was the love of his life, they say love is blind, jus' sayin', the mother of his children, how he loved her, but as time went on she became cold and distant. Hanna wants to know why he is telling her this. He tells her as time went on, and this situation continued he looked elsewhere for that kind of thing, as in a lover. Hanna can't beleive it. This can't be, why. He tells her he isn't going to go into any details. Hanna is really getting upset. She says her Mama lives for Max and her children and how could he do this? Max says he mainly wants Hanna's forgiveness. She is having a hard time forgiving him. He isn't the Papa she always thought of him being. Now to find this out. Hanna wants to know who the lover is, and I have to say Max is honest with her. He tells her it's Vicky. Hanna is really upset, that is Aldo's girlfriend. He tells Hanna, Aldo and Vicky had broken up awhile ago. Max says that he made a big mistake, is telling her about this now, and wants her forgiveness, he is begging Hanna and looks most sincere. He starts to cry and tells her she is the nina de mis ojos, always. They both sob and hug each other tight as Max says mi nina.
Clinic in the D.F.
Dona Chuy has brought Mateo to the clinic. She is out of breath from having run there, and crosses herself and says a little prayer. Dona Chuy runs in wanting help for Mateo. She gives the nurse a song and dance about how her daughter left her with her grandson, no papers, the child needs to be looked at, and the nurse says is he very bad off? Don Chuy says no, but he needs his shots you see, and she doesn't have the proper paperwork. The nurse says no problem, she'll look him over, and then proceed with the shots. Dona Chuy says a prayer to the Virgincita thanking her for the little "white lie" she just told the nurse.
Stuck in Traffic In Front of the Never Ending Curves Car Wash:
That would be Gagme and the Champagne Queen. Gagme is layin' on the horn, being her rude usual self, wanting to move forward, and when they do, the Champagne Queen notices the car wash and really likes the name. Unfortunately, Luci is standing talking to Vio with her back turned to the car. Luci is telling Vio how much she misses her bebe, holding him, who took him, her hope of finding him. Vio is trying to be gently kind to Luci. Unfortunately, Gagme notices Luci and says ah, there is the domestica, listen you so and so, shut up already. Luci could buy and sell you any day of the week. Bet she is has more money than you, nanny, nanny, boo, boo. She remarks how Luci is near water? Like cleaning I guess. Champagne Queen says life is full of surprises, and Gagme agrees, so many surprises, so Gagme is showing that grill, and laughing as Luci stands with Vio in her grief stricken state. Gagme says vamanos and the bitches go. Vio notices them, and Luci wants to know what's wrong. Vio says its nothing and pulls Luci more into the car wash. Luci says she has one more place to visit to look for lil Roddy and then she is goin' home; it is starting to sprinkle, so Vio gets an umbrella to give to Luci and wishes her much luck in finding her son. Vio is watching the street to make sure the beyotches are nowhere in sight.
Park in the D.F.
Dona Chuy and Don Chelo are walking bebe Mateo in that handmade stroller, with the musical symbols on the side with a big huge umbrella so the lil tyke doesn't get wet. Dona Chuy tells Don C about how she pulled a fast one on that nurse at the clinic and says she got Mateo his shots, and shows him the shot record. They are very happy. Mateo has a nice little hand knit yellow outfit on today. Dona Chuy has loosened the binky around the bebe, but Don C re-adjusts the covers so that the medallion is covered up. Mateo starts to cry. I swear that Mateo is scared off by Don C's beard, as someone mentioned yesterday.
Rosa's Planes in Motion, or The Torreslanda Lunch From Hell:
Torreslanda Dining Room:
Everyone is seated at the table, Rosa la loca, in what she thinks will be her ultimate moment of triumph, Rod, Pato, Hanna and Max with Mati staying on the sidelines to serve. There is a silence in the room. They are all lookin' at each other, probably wondering why the hell they are there. Well, Rod finally pipes up and says what's the deal Mama, well you get the gist. Pato wants to know too, they haven't eaten as a family in a while. Hanna says you look preoccupied Mama. Well la loca spouts out of that so shameful mouth of hers, that they are gathered together for something Max has done, that everyone knows about except Hanna of course. Rosa goes on to say, Max you said no more lies in this house, now who is calling the kettle black, and it's your turn. Rosa la loca wants him to spill the beans to his little Hannita, his secret. Rod tries to stop her, but Rosa says basically Rod shut it and I am going to continue to talk. Max still isn't sayin' anything, so Rosa la loca really spews now and tells him tell your daughter all about your lover. Has anyone ever had such a dinner conversation? This woman, who is supposed to be the pillar of society, is exposing her daughter to the grand secret all for the sake of revenge. Rosa says tell her about this lover you have had all these years, TELL HER. Meanwhile the whole family and this includes Mati are giving la loca the major stink eye.
The Meeting in the Park:
Dona C and Don C are still in the park and Luci stops them and asks for directions. Don C tells her its to the North. Luci smiles when she sees the bebe. Luci says can I see your bebe? They both tell her yeah. So Luci bends down and looks at HER son, only she doesn't know that. She tells them he's beautiful. Luci touches him and he smiles the biggest smile that bebe has smiled. Luci is lovin' it. The bebe knows this is his Mama, you can tell. Dona Chuy agrees with her, he is the prettiest bebe in the whole world. Luci asks the name of the bebe and Don C tells her Mateo. Luci asks how old the bebe is and Don C tells a lie and says he is four months going on five months. Luci is shocked, he is so small. Don C tells her its because they are poor, but they feed him well, and he is healthy. Dona C starts to get uncomfortable and wants to go but Luci stops them and gives Dona Chuy a card, Luci promises she can help if they ever need anything, that bebe reminds her of her little one who is two months old. Luci says promise me you'll always take good care this bebe, oh, if she only knew, and Don C assures her he would give his life for lil Mateo. Luci thanks them for letting her see the bebe, but as she starts to walk off, the bebe fusses and Luci turns and asks them if she can kiss the bebe. Luci leans in and gives her son a kiss, unbeknownst to her, and thanks them again, tells them not to forget to call her if they need anything, don't lose the card, and Luci starts to cry and as the Don and the Dona walk off the bebe starts to fuss again. Dona Chuy and Don Chelo feels so bad for Luci cause she is so sad, oh if they only knew. Luci stands there and cries. So Luci sees her son again, but doesn't know him, it breaks my heart.
Back to the Dinner From Hell or Rosa's Planes Backfire:
Rosa is being so indignant, doncha know, about how he has had this lover all this time, Pato tries to interrupt too, but she is just spewing, and Rosa says not only any lover, but Don Jeronimo's daughter, Vicky ,and Aldo pretended that they were lovers, oh, the pain, my eyes. And not only that, that is probably what killed poor Don Jeronimo. Oh, please STFU already!!!! Pato tells Rosa la loca to shut it. Thank you Pato, we in Viewerville, are sick and tired of Rosa's clap trap, santicimonious el torro poopoo. Hanna pipes up and says too late already talked to my Daddy bout this. Max has a semi grin on his face, like I beat you at your own lil game, Rod tries to escort Hanna from the dining room from hell, but Rosa la loca says, just a minute I ain't thru yet!!! Hanna now gets in her face, and says ya know I always thought you loved me, you are so distinct and I wanted to be like you, but no you are not the person I thought you were, she says you want me to forgive you, then forgive my Papa, it hurts to know he had a lover but I can deal and did you have to drag this out at a lunch of all things. Well ,you can tell Rosa was not expecting this at'all. She is clearly shocked and I have the impression that Rosa la loca is jealous of the relationship that Hanna and Max have, and that Rosa feels left out. Rod comes next and says well done Mama, such love you have for us, and stalks off after Hanna, who has had all she could take, and has left the room. Pato is next, he says nothing and just gives Mama the stinkeye and leaves. Mati is next, she actually looks like she will burst into tears and she leaves. Which leaves la loca with her cheatin' husband Max. Max drinks his wine and says she is perverse and sick and now all three kids can see it. She says get a lawyer then, but you will never be free of me. Max comes and looks her in the eye and says there is a thin line between love and hate, and then he leaves. Rosa tears are falling, sucks to be her, mis planes backfired and she sits down and sobs into the very empty dining room table. Serves her right, jus' sayin'.
Torreslanda Home, Sitting Room:
Hanna, Pato and Rod are hanging together trying to stop the damage Rosa la loca just caused. They are all upset. I think Rod and Pato said they knew about Max. Rod says he is married to Gagme a woman he doesn't love, the only thing that is keeping him there is Alexia, his son is missing,and he is profoundly in love with Luci. Hanna says she thinks the love of her family is a big fat lie, Pato tells her not so, Pato and Rod do love her. Hanna said something about Rosa controlling what they all do even Max and Pato says they are their parents. Pato I think says they protect them and love them, but Rod says I think such parents. I think I got most of this convo wrong, someone please correct. They are all crying and Rod kisses Pato's hand, while Hanns cries in his arms.
Luci's Apartment of Faith and Hope:
Luci is telling Claudio about meeting bebe Mateo and the sensation, of something with that bebe. She can't put her finger on it, but he tugged at her heart strings, call of the blood maybe. She has such hope in her eyes, talkin' about bebe Mateo, if she only knew. She tells Claudio she even kissed this lil bebe and it reminded her of kissing her lil mushashon, her Rodrigo. Claudio says how odd, all the sensations and love you felt for this bebe. Luci thinks this could be her bebe! Yes, Luci, you don't know, but we do, that this your YOUR bebe. But that can't be cause this bebe is almost five months old and my bebe is only two months old, she tells Claudio. Claudio thinks she has gotten her hopes up.
Boxcar Barrio:
Don Chelo has put Mateo down for the night. He is resting comfortably and is sleeping soundly. The Virgincita medallion is now in full view, darn the bad luck that bebe was covered up. Don C gets ready for bed too.

It's time for the "talk" with Hanna. Hanna and Max are sitting on a park bench and Max is tryin' to work up the courage to tell Hanna bout his little chippy on the side. He tells her he has something to tell her. She is concerned. He starts off with, you know how I adore your Mama? Can I please barf now, oh, sorry, on with the convo. He tells her that the love was strong and couldn't be broken. He tells Hanna he married Rosa cause she was the love of his life, they say love is blind, jus' sayin', the mother of his children, how he loved her, but as time went on she became cold and distant. Hanna wants to know why he is telling her this. He tells her as time went on, and this situation continued he looked elsewhere for that kind of thing, as in a lover. Hanna can't beleive it. This can't be, why. He tells her he isn't going to go into any details. Hanna is really getting upset. She says her Mama lives for Max and her children and how could he do this? Max says he mainly wants Hanna's forgiveness. She is having a hard time forgiving him. He isn't the Papa she always thought of him being. Now to find this out. Hanna wants to know who the lover is, and I have to say Max is honest with her. He tells her it's Vicky. Hanna is really upset, that is Aldo's girlfriend. He tells Hanna, Aldo and Vicky had broken up awhile ago. Max says that he made a big mistake, is telling her about this now, and wants her forgiveness, he is begging Hanna and looks most sincere. He starts to cry and tells her she is the nina de mis ojos, always. They both sob and hug each other tight as Max says mi nina.
Clinic in the D.F.
Dona Chuy has brought Mateo to the clinic. She is out of breath from having run there, and crosses herself and says a little prayer. Dona Chuy runs in wanting help for Mateo. She gives the nurse a song and dance about how her daughter left her with her grandson, no papers, the child needs to be looked at, and the nurse says is he very bad off? Don Chuy says no, but he needs his shots you see, and she doesn't have the proper paperwork. The nurse says no problem, she'll look him over, and then proceed with the shots. Dona Chuy says a prayer to the Virgincita thanking her for the little "white lie" she just told the nurse.
Stuck in Traffic In Front of the Never Ending Curves Car Wash:
That would be Gagme and the Champagne Queen. Gagme is layin' on the horn, being her rude usual self, wanting to move forward, and when they do, the Champagne Queen notices the car wash and really likes the name. Unfortunately, Luci is standing talking to Vio with her back turned to the car. Luci is telling Vio how much she misses her bebe, holding him, who took him, her hope of finding him. Vio is trying to be gently kind to Luci. Unfortunately, Gagme notices Luci and says ah, there is the domestica, listen you so and so, shut up already. Luci could buy and sell you any day of the week. Bet she is has more money than you, nanny, nanny, boo, boo. She remarks how Luci is near water? Like cleaning I guess. Champagne Queen says life is full of surprises, and Gagme agrees, so many surprises, so Gagme is showing that grill, and laughing as Luci stands with Vio in her grief stricken state. Gagme says vamanos and the bitches go. Vio notices them, and Luci wants to know what's wrong. Vio says its nothing and pulls Luci more into the car wash. Luci says she has one more place to visit to look for lil Roddy and then she is goin' home; it is starting to sprinkle, so Vio gets an umbrella to give to Luci and wishes her much luck in finding her son. Vio is watching the street to make sure the beyotches are nowhere in sight.

Dona Chuy and Don Chelo are walking bebe Mateo in that handmade stroller, with the musical symbols on the side with a big huge umbrella so the lil tyke doesn't get wet. Dona Chuy tells Don C about how she pulled a fast one on that nurse at the clinic and says she got Mateo his shots, and shows him the shot record. They are very happy. Mateo has a nice little hand knit yellow outfit on today. Dona Chuy has loosened the binky around the bebe, but Don C re-adjusts the covers so that the medallion is covered up. Mateo starts to cry. I swear that Mateo is scared off by Don C's beard, as someone mentioned yesterday.
Rosa's Planes in Motion, or The Torreslanda Lunch From Hell:
Torreslanda Dining Room:
Everyone is seated at the table, Rosa la loca, in what she thinks will be her ultimate moment of triumph, Rod, Pato, Hanna and Max with Mati staying on the sidelines to serve. There is a silence in the room. They are all lookin' at each other, probably wondering why the hell they are there. Well, Rod finally pipes up and says what's the deal Mama, well you get the gist. Pato wants to know too, they haven't eaten as a family in a while. Hanna says you look preoccupied Mama. Well la loca spouts out of that so shameful mouth of hers, that they are gathered together for something Max has done, that everyone knows about except Hanna of course. Rosa goes on to say, Max you said no more lies in this house, now who is calling the kettle black, and it's your turn. Rosa la loca wants him to spill the beans to his little Hannita, his secret. Rod tries to stop her, but Rosa says basically Rod shut it and I am going to continue to talk. Max still isn't sayin' anything, so Rosa la loca really spews now and tells him tell your daughter all about your lover. Has anyone ever had such a dinner conversation? This woman, who is supposed to be the pillar of society, is exposing her daughter to the grand secret all for the sake of revenge. Rosa says tell her about this lover you have had all these years, TELL HER. Meanwhile the whole family and this includes Mati are giving la loca the major stink eye.
The Meeting in the Park:
Dona C and Don C are still in the park and Luci stops them and asks for directions. Don C tells her its to the North. Luci smiles when she sees the bebe. Luci says can I see your bebe? They both tell her yeah. So Luci bends down and looks at HER son, only she doesn't know that. She tells them he's beautiful. Luci touches him and he smiles the biggest smile that bebe has smiled. Luci is lovin' it. The bebe knows this is his Mama, you can tell. Dona Chuy agrees with her, he is the prettiest bebe in the whole world. Luci asks the name of the bebe and Don C tells her Mateo. Luci asks how old the bebe is and Don C tells a lie and says he is four months going on five months. Luci is shocked, he is so small. Don C tells her its because they are poor, but they feed him well, and he is healthy. Dona C starts to get uncomfortable and wants to go but Luci stops them and gives Dona Chuy a card, Luci promises she can help if they ever need anything, that bebe reminds her of her little one who is two months old. Luci says promise me you'll always take good care this bebe, oh, if she only knew, and Don C assures her he would give his life for lil Mateo. Luci thanks them for letting her see the bebe, but as she starts to walk off, the bebe fusses and Luci turns and asks them if she can kiss the bebe. Luci leans in and gives her son a kiss, unbeknownst to her, and thanks them again, tells them not to forget to call her if they need anything, don't lose the card, and Luci starts to cry and as the Don and the Dona walk off the bebe starts to fuss again. Dona Chuy and Don Chelo feels so bad for Luci cause she is so sad, oh if they only knew. Luci stands there and cries. So Luci sees her son again, but doesn't know him, it breaks my heart.
Back to the Dinner From Hell or Rosa's Planes Backfire:
Rosa is being so indignant, doncha know, about how he has had this lover all this time, Pato tries to interrupt too, but she is just spewing, and Rosa says not only any lover, but Don Jeronimo's daughter, Vicky ,and Aldo pretended that they were lovers, oh, the pain, my eyes. And not only that, that is probably what killed poor Don Jeronimo. Oh, please STFU already!!!! Pato tells Rosa la loca to shut it. Thank you Pato, we in Viewerville, are sick and tired of Rosa's clap trap, santicimonious el torro poopoo. Hanna pipes up and says too late already talked to my Daddy bout this. Max has a semi grin on his face, like I beat you at your own lil game, Rod tries to escort Hanna from the dining room from hell, but Rosa la loca says, just a minute I ain't thru yet!!! Hanna now gets in her face, and says ya know I always thought you loved me, you are so distinct and I wanted to be like you, but no you are not the person I thought you were, she says you want me to forgive you, then forgive my Papa, it hurts to know he had a lover but I can deal and did you have to drag this out at a lunch of all things. Well ,you can tell Rosa was not expecting this at'all. She is clearly shocked and I have the impression that Rosa la loca is jealous of the relationship that Hanna and Max have, and that Rosa feels left out. Rod comes next and says well done Mama, such love you have for us, and stalks off after Hanna, who has had all she could take, and has left the room. Pato is next, he says nothing and just gives Mama the stinkeye and leaves. Mati is next, she actually looks like she will burst into tears and she leaves. Which leaves la loca with her cheatin' husband Max. Max drinks his wine and says she is perverse and sick and now all three kids can see it. She says get a lawyer then, but you will never be free of me. Max comes and looks her in the eye and says there is a thin line between love and hate, and then he leaves. Rosa tears are falling, sucks to be her, mis planes backfired and she sits down and sobs into the very empty dining room table. Serves her right, jus' sayin'.
Torreslanda Home, Sitting Room:
Hanna, Pato and Rod are hanging together trying to stop the damage Rosa la loca just caused. They are all upset. I think Rod and Pato said they knew about Max. Rod says he is married to Gagme a woman he doesn't love, the only thing that is keeping him there is Alexia, his son is missing,and he is profoundly in love with Luci. Hanna says she thinks the love of her family is a big fat lie, Pato tells her not so, Pato and Rod do love her. Hanna said something about Rosa controlling what they all do even Max and Pato says they are their parents. Pato I think says they protect them and love them, but Rod says I think such parents. I think I got most of this convo wrong, someone please correct. They are all crying and Rod kisses Pato's hand, while Hanns cries in his arms.
Luci's Apartment of Faith and Hope:
Luci is telling Claudio about meeting bebe Mateo and the sensation, of something with that bebe. She can't put her finger on it, but he tugged at her heart strings, call of the blood maybe. She has such hope in her eyes, talkin' about bebe Mateo, if she only knew. She tells Claudio she even kissed this lil bebe and it reminded her of kissing her lil mushashon, her Rodrigo. Claudio says how odd, all the sensations and love you felt for this bebe. Luci thinks this could be her bebe! Yes, Luci, you don't know, but we do, that this your YOUR bebe. But that can't be cause this bebe is almost five months old and my bebe is only two months old, she tells Claudio. Claudio thinks she has gotten her hopes up.
Boxcar Barrio:
Don Chelo has put Mateo down for the night. He is resting comfortably and is sleeping soundly. The Virgincita medallion is now in full view, darn the bad luck that bebe was covered up. Don C gets ready for bed too.
Advances:
Frigid finds lil Rodrigo's hospital I.D. bracelet in Gagme's things. What will she do with it?
Gagme and Rosa la loca sure look worried. Is the jig up for them, finally!!!!

Max really stepped up to the plate and told Jana the whole story before Rosa could drop a bomb on her. That scene made me cry because once again he demonstrated he is a true parent, one that loves his kids and would do anything to keep from hurting them. Rosa on the other hand doesn't give a rat's behind who she hurts.
Totally loved the dinner scene when Jana said she knew and then ripped into her.
Things are moving right along as Rosa's world gets smaller and smaller. Her children turned their backs on her and even Mati looked fed up.

I don't think Max would do anything to protect his children. He certainly hasn't in the past. That was a CYA move. Yes, it was better for Jana that she find out from him, but he did it to get ahead of exactly the Rosa scene he knew was waiting for him. He'd been caught red-handed and his back was against the wall. Yes, he cared enough about his relationship with Jana to plead his case and beg forgiveness, but it was basically a selfish move, again.
Hi Y'all thanks for your patience. I do apologize for this late posting, but helped my daughter move back home, baked my pineapple upside down cake in the cast iron skillet for my BFF's birthday, and getting ready for Hurricane Sandy, I had a full day. The evil eye thing-I think it goes back to that cultural stereotype we were taught that Latin American's (especially older ones) do not like it when someone complements their children-a superstition about the evil eye. Never did understand it well.
EMARIE...I remember reading in a book about Hispanic culture that you should never look too long at another person's baby because the parent would fear you are giving the child the "evil eye". Tough for me as I tend to want to fuss and carry on about any baby I see!

Although I have to agree with Audrey that Maximino's confession to Jana was a cover-your-anatomy move....it was skillfully done, and the hurtful truth was delivered as gently as possible. My one caveat is how these telenovela characters immediately say "perdoname" after doing some grievous disservice or confessing some wretched action. As if they have the right to COMMAND forgiveness, and not only command it but for it to be INSTANTANEOUS. The human heart doesn't work that way.
But all in all, I thought last night's episode was very eventfull and intense. And your detailed, careful recap covered every exciting minute of it, MADS. Thanks so much.

On the evil eye: I sometimes think that superstition goes back to ancient times when people would say complimentary things about children that were perceived as hubris because it would ignite the jealousy of the gods. The most cited example is Niobe.
Of course, some people take this too far and not only never pay compliments but hand out criticism and abuse. Which -- whatever it is -- isn't quite up to Roselena's level.
This particular aspect of sex is not something that should be shared between parents and even adult children. This is a huge boundary violation and -- like all classic narcissists -- Roselena has no boundaries. Her children only exist to enhance her self-image and her (real or imagined) position in society. They are props without feelings to her. She doesn't acknowledge that they have feelings at all.

But wanting to actually use her daughter and hurt her just to get back at Max, good lord. All those scenes, from Max's confession to Jana, to the lunch and then later with the siblings together, was well done. Jana's speech to her sperm donor was awesome and the actress really had a chance to shine tonight. So ironically, all the witch has left are her co-horts in crime and maybe Mati. Mati may not approve of her behavior, but I think she will still be there for RE to the bitter end, even if she hears of the babynapping.
I don't know, I'm still thinking Max will be our candidate for redemption. Fessing up to Jana, at the risk of losing his princess but also wanting to make sure she heard it from him not as she was meant to hear it, was maybe a step in that direction. He still needs to now make right by Vicky after his past cruelties, but I can see that happening as he was genuinely kind to her at the funeral home. He also needs to protect her from RE. And he needs to make amends to CL - that may be the make or break if he fully moves over to the "good" side.
Well, Chelo kept the card, which leads me to believe that for some reason he may wind up calling Luce for help in the future. Plus with the previews of Frigida, bless her who knew she'd be a heroine, finding the baby band, events will start imploding for the witches. I hope this means a current day baby discovery and no fast-forwards that years go by before anything happens.

In the conversation between the siblings, Pato said something like Rosa and Max aren't perfect, but they are the parents they were given, so it's their job as children to love and care for them. Something along those lines. It's a key step for people as they become adults to realize that their parents are just as human as they are. I love the support and love the three sibs give each other, especially how Pato and Rod protect Hannah.
Although it was somewhat self serving for Max to tell Hannah first, it was also the best thing he could have done. Rosa was going to try to inflict as much pain as she could to her daughter in order to inflict pain on Max. If we remember the scene when Rod made Rosa confess the truth about stealing Luci to the family. Max kept trying to discourage Rod. He was trying to protect Rosa. It wasn't until Rosa then made the false accusation of Max being Aurora's lover to everyone in the dining room that he took off the gloves and made her tell ALL of the truth about how she tried to cover up her crime.
I too hope for redemption for Max, because he is a caring father. I want him to make amends to Vicky, CL, and Aldo. Then I would be perfectly happy to see him spend the rest of his days, divorced or separated, hanging out with his kids and grandkids. I know he would be getting off easy for the 20 years CL spent in jail, but if CL an let it go, so can I.

It wasn't until Rosa then made the false accusation of Max being Aurora's lover to everyone in the dining room that he took off the gloves and made her tell ALL of the truth about how she tried to cover up her crime.
I too hope for redemption for Max, because he is a caring father. I want him to make amends to Vicky, CL, and Aldo. Then I would be perfectly happy to see him spend the rest of his days, divorced or separated, hanging out with his kids and grandkids. I know he would be getting off easy for the 20 years CL spent in jail, but if CL an let it go, so can I.
Daisynjay- Yes, Pato and Rod making those comments about Pato still needing to fulfill some mission on earth, and that's why he didn't die, made me nervous too. That mission may just be to reunite Luci with her baby.

I thought that it was interesting that Rod made the comparison between him and his father Max. He now knows from experience what it's like to be stuck in a loveless/sexless marriage, and knows how easy it would be to fall into the arms of another (namely, Luci).

Urban- I really like your idea of throwing cold water on Rosa, literally lol. I agree with your comments on what should happen to her. Death is too good for her. Agree with you too about her boundry line. I have never in my life seen such a horrible denoument at a supposedly "family dinner". She really always sticks her foot in it. I can't beleive she thought all of them would reject Max and feel sorry for her, as if.
Amor- it broke my heart as Luci was kissing lil Mateo/Roddy and she just knew there was something about that bebe. I hope they don't drag this out too long.

Judy- Yes that cake was made in my black cast iron skillet. My Grandma gave that to me a long time ago. I love that thing. She also gave me the recipe for that cake too. I love how it never sticks, way better than all the non stick pans in the world. This cake is not only the favorite of my BFF but my daughter too. Agree with you too about Instanteous forgiveness, in real life it takes time to process the hurt and then to forgive which can take a long time. But this being a TN everything has to move at a high rate of speed.
DaisynJay-so agree with all your comments. I am wondering if Rosa was purposely wanting to hurt Hanna cause she is Max's favorite and I really do think that Rosa feels she is in competition with her. It was so horrible that she hurt her daughter like that. I too feel Max will be up for redemption. I really like what he said to Hannah, and tried to ease the horrible hurt that would have been inflicted on her if Hanna hadn't a clue beforehand. Agree too about how the actress shone. Max continues to surprise me. He is ruthless in bidness, but he has been stepping up to the plate recently as far as personal family stuff goes. His offer to help Claudio search for lil Roddy, being Rod's support, telling Hanna beforehand, and honestly I really think he was sincere about being sad for Vicky. But before he is redeemed I think he will have to pay for some of the things he has done, the illegal money laudering at the antro, and by the way, why did he do that? He isn't a drug runner, so I never got why he did that, unless that is the money he accused Claudio of stealing, and of course Max's involvement with stealing that money and sending Claudio to jail for twenty years.
Loved how Vio was shielding Luci from the bitches. She is alot like her Mama Magda, very protective. I hope in the end Vio finds a great guy and her bidness takes off like Lor's has.
So Gagme and the Champagne Queen think they have won the big jackpot in Rod. Can't wait for the supersized pie cart to be hitting them and the other cohort in crime. I think we ought to have a little party when that happens.
So Frigid finally finds the evidence that Gagme was involved in the disapperance of lil Roddy. Now I am conflicted on what she will do. Will she tell Rod in some way, to look good in his eyes, will she blackmail Gagme and the Champagne Queen? Will she suss out the fact that Rosa was involved? Will she feel bad for Luci? I know they have had their differences, but lately Frigid has shown some sympathy for Luci and maybe Frigid has a heart after all. I don't know, time will tell.
Vicky, I really hope, finds her way in life, on her own terms. Now that her Papa has died, maybe she will manage the other salon for Nicole, and then maybe find enough money to open her own place.

I don't think Pato is Rosa's favorite, it is pretty clear that Rod is but Pato once told her he would always be there for her - a horrifying thought. She often is very dismissive of him and yes i think she resents the relationship between Jana and Max. She has often sneered at him about his little Princessa.
Anyway you slice it she is up for Worst Mother of the Year award. Any woman who would call a family meal and use it as an excuse to humiliate her husband over an affair and bare intimate secrets to one's kids goes beyond the pale. There was no motive other than revenge for Max having forced her to confess her crimes and to hurt both him and the kids especially Jana. Bitch!
The little sibling scene was as always touching. The two big brothers trying to explain their parents twisted relationship and to try and remind Jana that they are there for her. She is a much stronger character than Rosa thinks - look at how she stood up to her. God only knows what she will do after she has her meeting with the tattle tale Boris. We need to worry for Jana.
I thought that odd look Oscar gave Claudio was strange. Obviously Oscar knows that Don J knew Campos but Claudio is new to the business and for all Oscar knew was just getting to know a long time employee like Jeronimo. There would be no reason for him to suspect hanky panky - then again Oscar knows Claudio is no fool.
Luci and the baby - typical TN call of the blood. I can't help thinking that like in US shows they are using twins for that baby - one who cries and fusses over the big hairy man and one who coos and smiles. I wonder who the well dressed man in the park was that spooked Don C. Was it a private detective and that is why the Boxcar Duo became uneasy. There was no reason for them to be so tense around Luci because for all they knew she was just a young woman admiring a baby.
So now Frigida finds the bracelet. What will she do - my guess is nothing for the moment. If she tries blackmail she may be out on her backside. I also thinks she likes the idea of knowing something dynomite that no one else knows. It feeds into her sense of power.

Though Max's confession was good, ITA w/Audrey; it was to cover himself. He also needs to rectify some of the very bad things he has done to be more legitimate and have the very nice ending Vivi gave him.

There's no redeeming Max in my eyes. That whole handcuff and drug Vicky scene was way beyond redemption; he's a sadist. Add the dirty deals ... he should be in prison for a long time along with his wicked wife. He might have been sad hurting Jana, but bottom line, it was all about him beating RE to the punch.

Max remains the most fascinating character in the story. He is very multi dimensional. Telling Jana may be considered CYA but far better for her to hear it from him, where he can tell her gently and in private rather than have it heaved in her face by a shrew in front of the whole family. I can't imagine how hard it had to have been for him to reveal something so private to his daughter knowing full well that she might hate him for it, that it would shatter her image of him. He also was careful not to throw Rosa under the bus and tell the girl that her mother tunred into an ice queen after her birth. The condemnation goes to Rosa for using the information solely to hurt.
As for redemption Max - si, Rosa only when pigs fly or hell freezes over. Max needs to atone for what he did to Claudio although it seems that Claudio is only investigating to find out why it happened and not for revenge. The disillusionment in his daughter's eyes is a form of punishment for Max.

Going back to the earlier episodes ~ I stumbled on this TN surfing channels and started watching SHELTER FOR LOVE @ the episode where Luciana stumble over a bucket of mud set by Brigida.
Can anyone refresh my memory as to where did Luci get an alternate dress for the party at such late notice when she determined she would no longer be able to attend?

Amor- Luci got a last minute dress from Mati via Hanna and Melissa I think. This dress plan was Frigid's idea. I don't know if that guy was a P.I. or not. It seemed to me maybe he recognized Don Chelo from his former glory days as an Opera Star and couldn't figure out why he was singing on a street corner.
Let me clarify my last remark. The plan to ruin the first dress was Frigid's and Mati made sure Luci didn't get a second surprise mud bucket on her way out.
I loved the scene between Max & Hanna. Good for him for telling her himself first. Rosa's look was priceless when her plan backfired. I think Max will help Vicky behind the scenes. And isn't our lovable lug Aldo so sweet? I think Vicky will eventually go for him seeing he stood by her in a time of need.
I loved Vio being the mama tiger with Luci. I'm so ready for round 2 of Gagme vs. Vio.

Karen and Anon- I get why you think that Max can't be redeemed, but I agree with Decie Girl here. Max is a very complex character and feels about his family as he should. The rest of anyone outside the family he could care less about.
Gringo- thanks, and am glad you are enjoying the show, I too will be sad when this one is over. I liked all the scenes you pointed out too, especially Luci, that was very touching.

Anon 2:35- I like Vio too for being such a stand up gal. She is Luci's BFF and would smash Gagme to the ground given the chance. Vio is very like her mama Magda in that respect.

SuperMads, indeed. Can't believe you cater to our addiction to know what happened, how and who did what in the midst of real life. I said as much to 5Ft who gave a rousing recap for Bravio. Brava to both of you (and to our benefit).
JudyB--Perdoname is certainly an overused sentiment that gets thrown around A-Lot. Sometimes we don't know if the speaker is being truthful. In this tn, of course it's RE who expected everyone to perdonar her, but Max is not allowed any perdonames.
When Max finished his wine and the Meal from Hell, he came up close to RE and said, appx. --there is a thin line between love and hate. Which is it between us, Roselena? Then he leaves.
UA--We could only wish RE would melt if cold water were thrown on her. Her breaking down after Max leaves the dining room is genuine, but we can be sure her arrogant, self-righteous side will delude herself into thinking she did the right thing and only needs to do a couple of extra prostrations and self-flagelation in her Chapel/Hell Hole.
The sin of omission--Max is claiming Vicky as his lover because she gave him what RE didn't. We've all seen how he has treated Vick over the years. Cruel and sadistic, stingy, hurtful, vengeful. Do we really think he will really change his behavior toward her?
Mads--I think you are onto something when you said that maybe RE wanted to hurt Jana because she was Max's favorite. We have only to recall that her favorite photo is the one of her with her two sons--favoritism? A strike against Jana. Girls are always suspected as competition with their mothers for the affection of their fathers. Another strike against Jana. Also, Jana is beginning to show signs of rebellion and not following RE's rules for control. Another strike against Jana.
AMOR--The Dress. Unless Vivi can recall with pinpoint accuracy, I believe it was Jana and Melissa that provided the dress and the hairdo. What I can't remember is how she got the first dress--was it Rod?
Mads--That's what we need, a Supersized Pie Cart. Can we trademark that for future use?

Urban, you so nailed it about Rosa, classic narcissism, others only exist to her as props to her self image or only as an extension of herself....Brilliant! and I think Janna was more hurt and disappointed at seeing this than at hearing of her father's indescretion!
I stand corrected. Jana and Melissa gave her the original dress. Here is the pp. copied from the recap UA so graciously provided:

Anita- Yes, Hannah and Melissa got Luci the first dress, at the request of Pato. The sceond dress was also provided by Hannah-- it was the dress she had bought to wear at Rod's #1 wedding to Gala. When Hannah called to find out what the delay was with Luci, Mati told her about the muddy dress, and Hannah gave her the go ahead to use the wedding dress. That's why there was another pretty dress on hand for Luci to wear last minute.
Oh, and Frigida played that dirty trick on Gala's orders. Gala was not pleased with her later when Luci did make it to the event.
Urban, Anita, and Vivi- yes you are all right about the second dress, and the funny thing is I recapped that epi, lol. I think we were in double epi's then. Thanks for that.

I've been thinking for a long time that the title of this series is very ironic; love has no safe place from Roselena, Gala, Julie, and even Boris. Nobody in this story is safe until all of those are taken out of action.
I loved it when Max mentioned the line between love and hate being so close and which one was it. For Max it had always been love but ever since he learned what she did to Aurora'a baby he has moved closer to hate. One thing i am sure of when he find out what she did to Luci and Rod's baby he will cross the line to hate and she will wish she was dead.

My biggest problem with Max, is that he doesn't protect his children from Rosalena. That's why I won't give him the father-of-the-year award. He stands by while Rosa wreaks her evil. He knew Luci was expecting Rod's baby, yet he doesn't tell Rod. Why? Because Rosa easily plays the "she's the daughter of your enemy" card. Very shallow and selfish.
And what time does he give to Jana anyway? She was so thrilled to see him pick her up from school as if Prince Charming had arrived. Makes it pretty clear that she has been starved for his attention. Of course, Max is too busy with his "extra-curricular" activities such as trying to intimidate/bribe Vicky back. When he does talk to his children, he is a very loving parent, but overall he is mostly not there.
