Refugio Para el Amor #148 Wed 11/7/12 Rosa Rages, Lovers Kiss and Anvils Align and Prepare to Fall

Recap by Decie Girl, who makes her CarayCaray recapping debut tonight.

EL REFRITO
The assembled guests and victim are gathered together and Rosa says that the protocols have been observed as God ordered and tells Bore-us’ padre to go ahead. The man says that for many years Bore-us has been sincerely in love with Jana and asks that the Torreslandas give her hand in marriage to their son.  Jana, battling panic and after having been pulled and pushed like a slab of salt water taffy snaps and says no, I’m not going to marry Bore-us.

LO NUEVO
Jana  bravely defies Rosa and says I’m not going to marry Bore-us. The assembled guests freeze and those in the know wait for Rosa’s expected explosion.  Bore-us leaps into the silence calling Jana-- Flaquita, which annoys her so much she snaps don’t call me Flaquita. My name is Jana. Rosa tells Jana she is ridiculous and demands to know what this is all about.  Jana who has stiffened her spine tells her I don’t want what you want mama. I love you more than anyone in the world but you can’t live your life again through mine. This does not go down well and Rosa tells her if you don’t marry Bore-us, I swear you will be sorry.

Lorenzo talks on the phone to Luci. She tells him she understands so much. He is really down and she suggests he come to the pueblo, he can be with her, amah, Magda and Ariche. They can help. She knows how he feels; it is the same way with her and Rod. He wants to know if she has been able to forget even a little and she tells him no not for one second. Lorenzo tells her it is the same for him and he can’t get Jana out of his mind or his heart. Now he is going to have to learn to live without half of his heart.

Back at the engagement dinner from hell, Max tells Jana you are putting us all in an uncomfortable position. The reason for this dinner was to ask for your hand. Rod says Papa I think Bore-us and his parents should listen to what my sister has to say. Conny starts to say I’m sure it’s uncomfortable, but before she can go on Rosa snarls at her not to interfere. When and if someone asks for Melissa’s hand then she can say something. Not to be outdone Gagme pipes up that it is healthy for Jana to tell the truth before an important step like marriage because after you get married it is very difficult to discuss these things and shoots Rod a toothy smile, isn’t it my love. He just adds very difficult.

In Het Het Paz questions Luci, what happened?  Why is she so sad after talking to Lorenzo? Luci tells her she doesn’t like it that Lorenzo is suffering. Lorenzo is suffering but why, what is wrong?  Is it Jana? Luci tells her yes he is lost in love her. Paz says poor Lorenzo perhaps it's better to shed tears now rather than later what with all that the Señora Torreslanda is capable of doing.  Magda says she agrees with Paz. That Lorenzo is a good boy, a good worker and honest. He deserves someone to love and care for. Paz says he shouldn’t be looking so high. Look at the suffering he found. Luci says what she most wants is that he doesn’t suffer like me. Magda says the Torreslandas and Jacintos are like oil and water. They never mix, they always end up separated. They are never together.

At the dinner Rosa says it’s just nerves for all of us, the emotion of the moment. Bore-us’ madre agrees that it is just nerves, right princesa? Bore-us’ padre says yes it is just nerves that made you say you won’t get married. Bore-us says, you never said anything when I asked you to marry me. Jana answers that she did say yes but she wasn’t convinced. Jana goes on, indicating Bore-us and Rosa, you two decided everything for me without giving me the opportunity to make my own decisions, without knowing what I really want. Where does it stop? I don’t know what I want for the rest of my life. Rosa says a good marriage is the only thing for the rest of your life. Rod steps in and says let Jana say what she feels. Jana continues, you mama, you set the date for my wedding without asking me, you planned this dinner.  Jana tells Bore-us you decided we would get married without knowing if I wanted to be a professional and now your parents are deciding where we are going to live. Everything is prepared for a wedding I do not want.

Jana isn't finished yet and yells at her mother, this dress you bought me is the same as yours. Why?  Because you liked it. You’re living again through me.  She ends her tirade telling her mother my feelings aren’t important. Señora Bore-us says she has had enough of this but Bore-us says not me, mama. He asks Jana once and for all do you want to marry me. Obviously nothing short of a load of bricks falling on him gets through to this dope.  Jana tells him point blank, no, I don’t want to marry you.  Oscar and Conny exchange discrete smiles, Max and Rod keep theirs under control while Gala smirks.

The Torreslanda threesome arrives home with Rosa in full rant about being embarrassed and made to look ridiculous. Jana says she doesn’t want to hear any more on the subject and to respect her decision. For good measure she also tells her mother to shut up for the love of God. Rosa rips into for talking like that about God but Jana escapes up the stairs.  Mati drawn by all the racket wants to know what all the shouting is about and Rosa goes on about it being the worst, the most embarrassing thing in her life and it is all the niña’s fault. Max says to Rosa maybe it is better not to pressure Jana into marrying Bore-us although he is a good boy. She doesn’t want to marry him. Mati asks, she didn’t accept Bore-us?  Rosa snaps no, at the last minute she decided to cancel the wedding with Boris. Max shakes his head and flees upstairs while Mati barely controlling herself bolts for the kitchen.

Oscar, Conny and the kids are eating dinner (since the last one was interrupted mid-fork), discussing the latest Rosa fiasco. Aldo is proud of his cousin. Melissa thinks Jana has a brave character. Oscar agrees that it was a very intelligent decision on her part. He worries about Jana not being supported by Max in the house. You know who the main figure in the house is, your sister. Conny agrees but says Max has the best intentions to support Jana but Rosa always gets her way and she is insisting that Jana marry Bore-us.

In the chapel Rosa who has abused everyone in sight has turned her wrath on God and is screaming What is enough for you? She reminds him of all of her sacrifices for him, her devotion and faith. Why have you abandoned me when I most need you? Why? She demands that he answer her. (Viewerville also wishes he would answer her with a lighting bolt, not a big one yet just enough to singe her a bit. Save the big guns for when the truth comes out.)  Now on her knees she begs forgiveness, she doesn’t want to question him, she only wanted her daughter to marry someone who would take care of her, but you let evil enter her pure heart and she ended her engagement. Why God? Why, I don’t understand, I don’t understand.

Max goes to talk to his princesa. She asks him if he is angry with her, too. He tells her no, he wants to know how she feels. Jana tells him she didn’t want things to be like this  She feels awful, in reality she feels pressured, asphyxiated. He tells her he is happy with her bravery, her interest in facing the situation. You’re no longer mi niña, now you’re  a woman, brave and admirable.  Max says, whatever you decide I will support you. Thank you papa, and mama? Don’t worry about your mama. No matter what happens, after today once and for all, she has to learn she can’t continue to keep managing the lives of our children. Good luck with that one.

Jana says her mother’s intentions are good, she wants what is best for us. Max tells her she doesn’t have to explain anything to him. Your mother and I have lived our lives and now it is your turn. Max says he wants to give her some advice. Do what you must, as with your engagement, with conviction, above all do it with your heart.  Jana says even though you consider me a woman, I always want to be your princesa and he tells her you always will be, always. Telling her to get some rest he kisses her head and leaves.

The phone rings and it's stalker-us. Jana wants to know what he wants.  He begs her not to end it. He understands, do what you want and when you want but don’t break it off. She tells him she needs time to think, that ever since they got back she hasn’t had time for anything. Jana who is spent by this time tells him right now I don’t want to make a decision. Bore-us asks her just one thing are we still novios or not. Apparently the words no or get lost are not part of his vocabulary. Jana tells him we’ll talk in the morning and hangs up. Jana takes off her ring and drops it on the table. Decision made.

In the Barrio the phone rings and Lorenzo answers. It’s Matilde calling, keeping her voice low, identifies herself, it’s Matilde. Groggy with sleep Lorenzo wants to know why she is calling at this hour, has something happened?  She tells him gleefully that Jana is not going to marry, she is not going to marry Bore-us. Lorenzo is confused, what, repeat what you said.  She repeats, Jana is not going to marry Bore-us.  Lorenzo hangs up and laughs with a stunned look and then a goofy smile. At least someone is happy this evening.

In the glass and grey apartment Rod is in Alexia’s room carefully pulling the covers over her. He kisses her forehead. She wake up and he tells her to go back to sleep. He only came to kiss her, close your eyes. He tells her loves her.

In the Boxcar Barrio Chelo looks at a sleeping Mateo and adjusts the covers over the little boy quietly calling him my son.

Morning in Het Het finds Luci, Paz and Magda in a dither. Magda says Pato is not in the hotel. They’re worried he didn’t say anything about where he was going.  Apparently Ariche came for him early in the morning and they left but where did they go. The hotel doesn’t know anything. They all think it is very odd.

In the Barrio, Lorenzo is gleefully telling Vi, Estela, Fabian and Serena that Jana is not going to marry Bore-us. Mati called him last night and told him. Vi warns him to be careful, that it doesn’t mean she will marry him. Estela in her usual wet blanket mode tells him not to have any illusions about this girl. Lorenzo tells her he knows she wants him to be careful and not get hurt but his way is to fight.  Fabian asks him if he is going to go running to her declaring his love and Lorenzo says why not, grinning.

Lady MacBeth is cleansing her hands when Jana comes down stairs. Rosa tells her daughter she will respect her decision not to marry Boris (that would be when pigs fly) but not to think of taking up with that Miserable Taquero. First she will see her dead before she is with him. Jana tells her to leave her in peace.

Rod is driving Alexia to school. She wants to know if he will eat with her today. He tells her he doesn’t know; he has a lot of work at the office. She pleads and says she likes it when they eat together. Clever girl one way to avoid the liver lunch. He says he will do everything possible but only if she promises she will win many many stars. She tells him yes many, many.

Fridgida asks Gagme should she prepare meals for three of them or just for her and Alexia.  Gagme asks why she asks stupid questions. Prepare the food, period. If he comes or not isn’t important. She then tells Fridgida to be sure and serve Alexia the liver from yesterday. Fridgida protests and says it is awful and it tastes horrible but Gala tells her it’s not for you it is for her and that’s what you’ll serve. She warns Fridgida to be careful and leaves. Fridgida is not so happy in her dream job and implies if she knew then what she knows now she would have preferred working with Matilda.

CQ and Carola are discussing Claudio. Julie says she has to accept that things were hard for Claudio, those years in prison, living thinking his daughter was dead. He is stubborn and resistant to a new relationship. Carola thinks if he so stubborn why would he think of a relationship with you.  Champagne Queen says it isn’t important. I’m going to seduce him, using all of my charms and practice the arts of love I leaned from the young Italian. You’ll see. Hate her but you got to love a woman that is that sure of herself. Too bad she doesn’t know there is an anvil with her name on it hovering over her bleached head.

Rod who is back in full stalker won’t leave her alone mode, calls Het Het. He tells Paz he wants to talk to Luci. Paz hands the phone to the girl and she wants to know what he wants.  He wants to know why she didn’t say anything about going away. He respects her decision but he wants the chance to be friends. (Have we not heard this a hundred times already.) She tells him we can’t be friends. Ignoring her he goes on, he is going to divorce Gala. They aren’t married in the church, it is only a legal thing because of their daughter. Luci says she doesn’t understand why he is telling her all this. He tells Luci, I don’t love her. She tells him she doesn’t want to see him and when pressed tells him it is because I’m in love with you and I don’t want to suffer. He says he doesn’t want to either but he doesn’t want to be separated. So, like Rosa it is all about him. He reminds her they have a child they have to find and if they are together, they are going to find him.

Mateo and Don C are outside a school. He has the papers they are going to sell but tells the boy first a little milk and an apple. The child wistfully watches the kids going to school with their mothers and asks is it true my mother in heaven.  Don C nods and tells him yes and the little guy looks up at the sky.

Aldo and Lorenzo talk on the phone. Aldo want to know how things are going and if everything is in order. Lorenzo tells him it is. He wants to ask Aldo for a favor the biggest of his life. What do you want? Lorenzo says he needs a little meeting with  Jana, alone. Ah, sneaking around, something right up Aldo’s alley.

A board meeting is in full swing at the company. Max says that Jana will be a lot of help on the new project and she is welcomed to the company. He asks Rod if he has had any communication with Pato and Rod tells him no, after a meeting he is either in the hotel or with the foundation. Max comments he is sorry he is not here as he is the only one of his children who is missing.  Claudio also welcomes Jana to the company. She asks if he knows when Luci will be returning. He says no she is the only one who knows but she will be happy to know that Jana will be working at the company. Jana tells him she has many things talk to her about not just about work but because she considers her a good friend. Max says the most important thing now is to end the meeting.

Back in Het Het the fretting goes on. Luci is really worried and Ariche’s mother doesn’t know anything either. No one knows where Ariche and Pato are. Paz says maybe at one of the other nearby pueblos or the foundation but Luci isn’t buying it. It is very odd that neither of them said anything. Paz tells her to stay calm.

The meeting breaks up and Aldo comes in and grabs Jana. He tells her he has to talk to her in private and drags her out. She protests because she has things to do. Jana wants to know what is it and he takes her to his office and opens the door. Jana looks stunned and then says Lorenzo. Aldo being diplomatic for once says, I will leave you alone but make it fast.  If someone finds out they’ll kill me.  Neither of them notice him leave and she asks why are you here. He wants to know is it true what he heard, is it true you are not going to marry Bore-us. She says it is true I’m not going to marry Bore-us. He says he’s just a taquero but is there a little chance for him in her heart.

Outside in the hall Bore-us, in stalker mode, approaches the closet door where Aldo is playing door monitor. He wants to know where Jana is. Aldo says, first greet me. Bore-us says that’s true, I’m rude but the truth, it’s about what happened last night. Aldo tells him you, my tia and your parents organized the whole thing without asking my cousin. Bore-us promptly throws Rosa under the bus and says your aunt planned everything without asking and pretty much just told me to show up. Aldo feigns shock, don’t tell me, my tia meddling in the life of my cousins, no you’re wrong Bore-us.  Bore-us goes on about being in love with Jana and not wanting her to end it with him.  Jana and Lorenzo are hearing all this, pressed against the door and each other. He begins playing with her hair. At this point neither they nor Viewerville could give a rat’s behind what Bore-us and Aldo are going on about so long as that door doesn’t open.

At the church Rosa is now addressing her favorite whipping boy, Padre Honesto. She tells him she has come to cancel the wedding date. He wants to know if the couple has chosen another date. She tells him no the children decided not to get married. He asks wasn’t last night when his parents were going to ask for her hand. She tells him yes everything was perfectly organized for a splendid evening but Jana decided not to get married.  He says thank God in heaven (which doesn’t go over well). She says didn’t you hear me, Jana made me look ridiculous. The good Padre is annoyed and tells her you were on the point of condemning your daughter to a loveless marriage and making the same mistake as always, meddling in the life of your children. Don’t forget what you did to Rodrigo & Luciana. She is grossly insulted.

Aldo stretched across the door is still saddled with Bore-us and is giving him pithy advice telling him to let Jana breathe. The bore says I only want her to know I love her, if we are novios or not. Good screaming God—even bricks aren’t this thick.  Aldo points out she wanted to be left alone at work and here he is, insisting on talking to her. Aldo tosses out advice about women and finally some of it gets through. Bore-us says maybe I’ll call her later for coffee. Aldo throws an arm around him and tells him, that’s it and steers him away from the closet.

On the other side of the door Lorenzo is sliding his hand into Jana’s and then up her arm. He whispers, he isn’t like Boris, no schooling, not rich, but he has his whole heart to lay at her feet. He has strong hands to work from sun to sun and with the blessing of God get ahead. He wants to know if there is hope for a little piece of her heart. Jana brings her hands up to his face and smiles. He says is that a yes and kisses her. For a first kiss this isn’t bad and the two of them stumble across the closet amid the rolls of toilet paper and office supplies, locked together. Que Romantico! Jana finally breaks the kiss, smiles and slips out the door leaving Lorenzo with a goofy smile leaning against the wall while she leans on the other side. She most certainly never kissed Bore-us like that.

Padre Honesto tells Rosa that Jana came to him for advice. He advised her to think before making such an important decision. Rosa is furious, you advised her to think?  The fourth commandment of God is Honor your father and mother, that is the law of God! Honor your father and mother. You advised my daughter to disobey me. No, Rosa I advised her to analyze her feelings. Love is state of  grace from God not a way to satisfy our selfishness. She shakes her head everything is useless with you Padre. You have confirmed what I suspect  He wants to know what she suspects and she tells him you don’t have the right to lead this church. We faithful need a good pastor which you aren’t.  The faithful need someone who won’t betray us, not a wolf in sheep’s clothing who puts children against their parents. The good father finally loses it with her, slams his hand on the desk and tells her not to offend him. In her snippiest tone she tells him I’m going to talk to the bishop and have you transferred to another parish. You are no longer the adviser the faithful need. Then in one of her usual hypocritical moments asks to kiss his ring and stalks out. The good Padre just sighs and shakes his head.

Max and Rod are in Max’s office discussing the events of the previous evening. Rod says he is proud of Jana, it was an act of courage and bravery. Max says that yesterday he told her how proud her he felt. Rod says that’s good and it’s very important for her.  Rod wants to know if Rosa had anything else to say last night.  Max tells him no she spent a lot of the time in the chapel and he was tired and went up to sleep. Max tells him the fight with your mother has hardly begun. It won’t be calm, wait and see. Rod says he and Pato also will support the decision Jana made. Oscar rushes in with a paper excusing himself for interrupting saying he has a report from the PI’s they hired to find the niño. Read this. There is hope. Rod starts reading and there are big smiles all around.

Mateo is out on the road selling papers, shouting extra, extra, while Don C looks on pleased. Mateo shouts and is working hard to sell those papers.

Claudio comes into Max’s office, obviously has been told there is something up.  Claudio wants to know what they are going to do. Rod tells him that he doesn’t think they should tell Luci yet. After five years there have been so many clues and nothing. They don’t want to break her heart again. Claudio agrees and says he will go with him to this place.

In Het Het Luci runs into Don A and asks if he is okay. He says he is fine. She wants to know if he hurts very much and he lies and tells her no. She says if he needs anything to call. He wants to know if there have been any clues about the child. Luci sadly tells him no and as she turns to leave he asks her how is Violeta. Is she okay? Luci tells him she is fine.

In the magazine office Gagme is holding a snarkfest over the fiasco dinner party.  It was a real show. She tells Val, Fernanda and Julie that her sister-in-law decided not to get married and that Rosa, don’tcha know was at the point of fainting.  She wishes she had a camera to take a picture of her face. Julie laughs and says the pious one is always trying to force things to go the way she wants but it always turns out like this.  But, Gala admits, Rosa did hand her Rodrigo on a silver platter (charola de plata).  Val says why, then, is she constantly complaining about Rod and Gala gets very threatening and says why are you even my friend; for once let something positive come out of your mouth, not for me for everyone. Val then says ok, she and Gabe are going to be parents, she is pregnant. Gagme gives her some jazz hands and a big whoop de doo smile.

In Het Het Copio is dealing with Don A’s foot and taking his daily dose of abuse.  He asks the man why did you ask Luciana about Violeta. You still have a little doubt you are her father. Don A snaps and asks what are you my confessor and then heaps enough abuse on him that Copio flees leaving the grump to his gout and doubt.

Lorenzo, five feet off the ground, is on the corner gushing to Fabian. Fabian tells him to calm down but Lorenzo says how can I be calm, I kissed her and she responded, He goes on about her soft lips on his. Fabian again tells him to calm down or he’ll up in the house for locos. There is no stopping Lorenzo who says he will be very respectful till they are married. He can barely control himself and is still going on when  La Loca dressed in pearls and hate, storms around the corner and slaps him across the face.

Rod and Claudio are driving along the road where Mateo and Chelo selling papers. Mateo is shouting, news, good news, bad news. Rod says he knows Mateo and he is happy. Seeing the boy from the car Claudio asks is it him. Mateo runs up to the car and when Rod gets out and greets him, Mateo says hello Rodrigo. Did you come for your newspaper? Rod tells him of course. Claudio gets out of the car and Rod wants to know if the paper has good news or bad.  Mateo looks very serious and says that since he only knows the vowels, rattling them off, he thinks the news is good. And since we’re friends I’ll only charge you 10 pesos. Rod says he’ll take one and then Mateo says to Claudio and you, friend of Rodrigo, do you also want a paper? Claudio says yes and takes one then stoops down and asks where is your papa. Mateo says he is over there, and waves to where Don C is anxiously looking on. His name is Chelo. He takes care of me and I take care of him.  Claudio asks and your mommy? The little boys tells him she is far away from here and when they want to know where he points up and says up there in heaven. They exchange knowing looks while a concerned Chelo looks on.

Luci returns to the house and is really agitated. I can’t find Pato anywhere. Paz signals her to be quiet and points her to Pato.  Pato looks very down. Luci says nobody knew where you went and they were worried about him. He tells her he went to the mountain, he had to face it. He returned to the place to understand his life.

Comments:
Decie Girl, wow what a fab recap and I just knew your first one would be this fab. My favorite line was la loca dressed in pearls and hate, lol. Loved this whole recap.

That was a way romantic scene with Lorenzo and Jana in Aldo's office. And you bet she never kissed Bore-us that that, eva. They certainly have alot of sparks. As sneaky as Aldo is, he is a true romantic at heart. Loved that he set that up for them and kept Boring Bore-us at bay. Speaking of boring Bore-us how many times did Jana have to say she was done with him???? He is dense. Ya think about the millionth time she told him no, he would have gotten it.

Loved how Jana stood up to la loca and my favorite thing she told her la loca mama was Shut up for the love of God. Loved that line, and about time someone told la loca to shut it already. I like how Jana finally stood up for herself and wants to live life her way, not her loca mama's way.

Speaking of Rosa, I'm with you Decie Girl, I wish Dios had hit her with some lightening, it is wayyyyy overdue. Rosa la loca isn't sanctimonious she is sacreligious. This is some divine intervention for Jana to save her from the loca one. And Padre Honesto, like she can just go to the bishop and demand he remove the priest, no way. They don't remove the priest for one loca one. I like how the Padre told her he counseled Jana. He never told Jana to disobey her parents, like she needs to obey them anyway. She isn't seventeen she is of age now and can do what she wants.

I think Don A really is thinking about Vio being his daughter. This is about the third time he has been civil to Luci. To Copio he is still being a butt head.

I am glad that Claudio met his grandson even though he doesn't know it. Chelo is looking more and more nervous.

Oh, and loved what Mati did by calling Lorenzo. And also liked how Frigid is starting to really dislike Gagme. Hopefully she will do something about that hospital bracelet already!

Yay, Val and Gabe are having a bebe. I think now Val will finally dump ole Gagme and the group. Val is so much better than them. Oh, and speaking of witch, er I meant Which, ole CQ will never get close to Claudio, she can try but I don't see it happening.

Beautiful wonderful recap Decie Girl and thanks Anita for posting.

Decie girl! Congrats on your first recap, loved it!
My favorite:
(Viewerville also wishes he would answer her with a lighting bolt, not a big one yet just enough to singe her a bit. Save the big guns for when the truth comes out.)
I have to confess I just wanted the Big One to hit her now, but I guess we need her so she and Gala can rat each other out later. And when she was rebuking the good Padre I was holding my breath, again, no lightning.

Also wonderful:
La Loca dressed in pearls and hate, storms around the corner and slaps him across the face.
Your imagery is accurate and emotional, I am so impressed.

Congrats Decie Girl!! THis was a wonderful debut recap and thank you for putting into words what viewerville was collectively thinking last night:

"Good screaming God—even bricks aren’t this thick. "

No wonder the dweeb doesn't work. How could he focus and get anything done?

Now and then Aldo redeems himself for me. Love how he plays match-maker for JaLor. And that was one smoking scene. I have expected all the toilet rolls to come crashing down as they backed up across the room. Nice to see some hot romance! But oh, poor Lorenzo is so in for it from the witch and her Bore-us minion.

Speaking of the witch - Thanks again Decie for the info on the Padre scene. Didn't catch all of that, and maybe a good thing. Sorry, but I had a mother who felt the exact some way as RE that children had to hold the same opinions as a parent and should live their life as the parent preferred. Thankfully my father did not believe the same. But just reading her opinion this morning made my blood boil. Jana needs to run, don't walk, and move in with Melissa.

Ok, so this is only me. I get how much Chelo loves Matteo, but when he was smiling so proudly watching that little gem hawking the papers, I actually was not happy. I know this is their life, but how can you be happy that your "son" is standing cold on a corner and selling papers? I struggle with this...as a parent, you should want your child to have a better life than yours, to succeed. I know Chelo fears the fact Matteo isn't really his will come out, but dang, that love he feels should take the risk to improve the boy's life. It's just a TN, it's just a TN....

And Rod, who had is daily Dumbass moment with Luce, had better also head home for lunch and catch that liver being served again.

Pato made me tear up...I hate that he is inching more and more to the tragic. Writers--don't go there.

Decie Girl- This was one of the best debut recaps, ever! Bien hecho amiga.

I was so proud of Hannah and was cheering her on. She really laid it all out there for Rosa and Bore-us. Yet, the two of them still don't get it. Could Bore-us be any more dense? At least his parents knew when to give up. I'm glad that Rod stood up for his sister, but I'm mad that Max just stood there saying nothing. Even Gala was speaking sense, although it was more to stick it to Rod. But, despite not having Max vocalize his support at the dinner, Hannah still held her own.

I liked the simple tacos dinner the Connie-Oscar family had afterwards. They really have become a nice family.

I was also proud of the Padre for giving Rosa a piece of his mind. I laughed when he said thank God about Hannah cancelling the wedding. LOL! Take that Rosa! I'm sure La Loca thinks that just because she has big bucks that she gives to the Church, that she can influence who gets to be the priest. Hopefully, the Bishop will remember all those advice sessions he had with Padre Honesto about his crazy parishioner, Rosa.

Now, about that KISS and the lead up...YOWZA! I'm suprised they didn't set the paper goods on fire. Five years worth of pent up longing and desire was evident. Lor says he'll be respectful (no sex) until they're married, but with attraction like that, is that even possible? I'm surprised Uni didn't censor the hot hand porn. :)

Daisynjay- ITA. I feel also annoyed seeing Chelo being proud of Mateo being a great street hawker, instead of spending more energy thinking of how he can get the boy in school and on the path to a better life, even if it means the truth comes out!

We're also tracking on dumbass Rod. Why is he calling Luci? What's the point. Once again he mentions divorce to Luci, but not to Gala. He has done NOTHING about getting a divorce! I am so glad Luci called bs on his request that they be friends, when he's the one who's been trying to kiss her and jump her bones at every chance he can get. It's not fair to Luci. If he didn't know before that this is hard for her because she is IN LOVE with him, well, now she's said it simply and honestly. Leave the woman alone until you can offer her more than pain, suffering, and being the OTHER woman-- La Otra.

Decie Girl: I will join in and say this was a fantastic debut. Your recap was so detailed and just plain fun. "having been pulled and pushed like a slab of salt water taffy" was my hands down favorite line. "Outside in the hall Bore-us, in stalker mode, approaches the closet door where Aldo is playing door monitor" was another great line.

Vivi, "I'm surprised Uni didn't censor the hot hand porn. :)" Indeed! I never thought Lor and Jana would generate such heat with such soft, subtle gestures. Bless Aldo for continuing to try to bring these two together.

I cannot wait for Mateo to be back with Luci. She is so unhappy. Like you daisy, I fear for Pato. Let's hope nothing bad happens to this beloved character.

Felicidades, Decie Girl! This is an excellent debut with lots of great snark.

Rosaelena is definitely headed for a serious Karmageddon after this bit of blasphemy in her private chapel and sacrilege in the Padre's office. I can't wait to see her talk to the bishop about this. He children -- because they are adults -- no longer owe her their obedience.

It always blows my mind how young girls and young women have historically been expected to surrender their bodies and souls to men whom they not only do not love for for whom they also have an active contempt or are repulsed by.

Nobody is pointing out to our sanctimonious villana that if every adult child of every parent since the beginning of the species only ever did what s/he was told to do we'd all still be living in caves.

Manicomio now!

Thanks for joining us! Great job.

Decie Girl, what a wonderful debut recap. I loved the entire thing and the comments today have mirrored by feelings.

I bet the good Padre was praying that RE would go to the bishop so he could finally get away from LaLoca. There is always the problem of people giving money with strings attached. We see it everyday.

I was really afraid that all of that heat between Lor and Jana would start a serious fire in that small room full of paper products. That was really a great love scene - smokin'. I bet RE never experienced anything like that! That Lor is one sensual young man.

Loved Aldo playing cupid.

I can hardly wait until lunch is served, LOL. I just know that Rod is going to make it this time.

Rosemary Primera

Excellent recap!

Growing increasingly disturbed and uncomfortable with Rosa loca's almost blasphemous scene's in her private Chapel. (Wonder how the actress feels about this part of her role) Better Rosa clear out the Chapel and install a pentagram on the floor. Also, hope that after Rosa slaps Lorenzo, he invites her to his wedding with Hanna.

The actress playing Hanna stepped it up at the dinner party and the scene with Lorenzo was riveting too.

And, ALdo. Did he think it was Saint Patrick's day.

Decie Girl--Muchas felicidades. Of course, I had a preview of the debut, since I posted it, but it blew me away when I read it. She's a natural, no?

Had to stop in and add my voice to the congratulations. Please, Decie, do it again, for US, the weary. Your sparkling prose and well aimed barbs made everyone happy.
Anita

Awesome first recap, Decie Girl!!! You are definitely on cue with all our frustrations and feelings about our a-bit-over-top villains here.
Some of my favs and some comments…

Clever girl, (that’s) one way to avoid the liver lunch.

Bore-us, in stalker mode, approaches the closet door where Aldo is playing door monitor. He wants to know where Jana is. Aldo says, first greet me. …He begins playing with her hair. At this point neither they nor Viewerville could give a rat’s behind what Bore-us and Aldo are going on about so long as that door doesn’t open.

Good screaming God—even bricks aren’t this thick.

Jana finally breaks the kiss, smiles and slips out the door leaving Lorenzo with a goofy smile leaning against the wall… (well, right before that after the kiss, he said ‘Janah, now I know why I am alive(or what I was born for, not sure which one)’ which is an awwww moment… that is when she smiled at him and left, both of them on either side of the door sighing and trying to catch their breath back (er… come back down to earth from la-la land))

He says thank God in heaven (which doesn’t go over well)….

(Padre Honesto acts/talks true to his name… but even I was surprised at RE’s reaction)_she tells him you don’t have the right to lead this church …. You are no longer the adviser the faithful need. Then in one of her usual hypocritical moments asks to kiss his ring and stalks out. (wow!! THAT is radical!!)

Why oh why did Val tell Gala she is having a baby right after provoking her into another offensive remark for her?? Now that baby she is having has a huge anvil on his head.

Lorenzo, five feet off the ground, is on the corner gushing to Fabian.(ROFLOL!! True!)

La Loca dressed in pearls and hate (perfect!!)

More coments to come later. Car is done at the shop so have to go.

Hi ... wonderful recap Decie, just fabulous. I sucked in all the little verbal details that rolled by me too fast even with the Spanish subs.

And I want to give my hugest round of e-pplause and gratitude to all the recappers. Brava to each of you!!!! My connectivity was completely knocked out all last week from Hurricane Sandy and when the power popped back on, on Saturday, I jumped on that IPad to read my recaps before I even flushed! You are all simply amazing; such good writers, summarizers, funny, smart, deep. You're awesome, truly, and where would my continuity thread be without you. THANKS ....

Decie Girl---Your first time out, it was GREAT---so many snarky lines.
Ah, sneaking around, something right up Aldo's alley.

Rosa is now addressing her favorite whipping boy, Padre Honesto.

pearls and hate----these are just three but you had great lines all the way through. A perfect first time recap.

La Loca was mad last night---mad at most everyone. Mad at Jana, mad at the Padre, mad at God, mad at Lorenso, mad, mad, mad--she's losing it---and yes, I'm for the lightning strike.
The nerve of her---you advised her to think? And you don't have the right to lead this church!!! Que? She's going to run the church too, destroying her family isn't enough?

I liked the scene where Rod kissed his daughter good night while at the same time across town Don Chelo was saying good night to little Rodrigo/Mateo--that was sweet.

And yes---that kiss was smoking. I'm sure that Bore-us never got one like that---GO Jana!!
I'm glad that she stood up for herself, Rod didn't.

Vivi---Uni didn't censor the hot hand porn had me LOL.

Oh, and thanks Anita for helping out.
the gringo

Vivi--I may be sitting next to you at the next Support meeting. if you hear a ARGH!!!!! eminating from me under my breathe, you'll know why!

It's rather interesting that even with the newer characters, there seems to be a theme of the parents that are willing to sacrifice vs. the ones who still want it all about them. And I find it interesting that not all the more self-centric parent figures are bad people, just not necessarily translating their love for thir children to make them their No. 1 priority.

Thanks for your kind words all. It was brutal work for me. I don't speak Spanish, never studied it, had only two years of High School Latin. If I can't grasp the verb in the sentence it is impossible for me so thanks Anita for the couple I just gave up on. My dictionary is falling apart, the app I bought was useless and i am ankle deep in paper that i took notes on. My hat is off to all the recappers, it is truly a labor of love.

For the fist time i am truly worried about Pato. He seemed very down and not at all his cheerful self. I know what happened to his counterpart in the prior version but he was essentially weak which Pato isn't. I had such hopes that there would be someone for him, I was thinking Vi but now I am less optimistic.

I loved the juxtaposition of all the father and child scenes. Max talking so wisely and supportively to Jana, Rod kissing his little girl and telling her he loves her - Lord knows Gala has probably never done and finally Chelo and the absolutely adorable Mateo. All of the love and concern on the part of the fathers as opposed to the nasty heartless Gagme and Rosa.

The closet scene was great in that it is all suggestion, not ripping at each other clothes and falling on the desk. In the prior version they had a similar scene without a single word which i though was one of the hottest scenes I'd ever seen in a novela. The Rod character gentIy removed the clip holding Luci's hair and ran his fingers through it. Then you seen him leaving her room with his shirt askew and he goes to his room and falls face down on his bed. You knew full well what had gone down but it was left to our imagination.

Can't help wondering if Claudio and Rod were right to keep what they had learned from Luci. I'm of mixed mind on it. In reality she is the one that can provide proof - then again they don't know about the medal. Getting good folks, getting good.

Absolutely awesome DECIE GIRL. You write so well, and the recap was detailed and so readable, with one delicious line after another.

My favorite line, if I had to choose just one, was about Jana being pulled back and forth like salt water taffy. I remember watching those machines as they pulled and twisted, pulled and twisted the taffy. What a powerful image! Well, you're a writer, so you know how to make the words sing. But such a delight to read.

Welcome to our world, lady. You knocked it out of the park!

Kudos also for handling such a dramatic episode. Lord, when Roselena was yelling at Christ, my hair stood on end. Sure hopes she gets an award.

Although it was shocking, a lot of David's psalms are basically a form of "yelling" at God and complaining about his ill treatment.

Even so, that scene was just a real shocker. Between that and the smoldering scene with Lorenzo and Jana, I'm wiped out!

Good job on the blogging Decie Girl!

Hey Boringus...what part of NO don't you understand????

I believe it's now official: Rosa is one taco short of a full platter. Wonder if we'll see her full freefalling decent into loopyland now?

The deal with Gagme and having little Alexia eat last night's dinner of liver (blech!!) is so "Mommy Dearest". All we need now is wire clothes hangers and Faye Dunaway to appear as Joan Crawford. I sure hope Frigida tattles on Gagme to Rod about one.

You go Jana for standing up to mommy!!! I see her & Lorenzo heating things up fast..but not too fast.

Paula

Wow, Decie Girl! What a masterful recap. I can't believe it's your debut! It was a really exciting episode too, and you really delivered!

I hope you become a regular recapper!

Paula,
it's now official: Rosa is one taco short of a full platter. .. lol so true!

Decie girl, i will join the choir praising your first recap! you need to join us and become a regular!...

I will help out with the AV recaps at least until the new Colunga/BS comedy one starts.

Decie Girl this was a fabulous first recap. You should definitely do this on a regular basis.

daisynjay - ITA regarding Chelo's parenting. He seems to be operating more than fear (of his "son" learning the truth) than seeking what is best for him. And we see this behavior regularly but in a far more insane manner from RE.

I wonder when/what method Rosa will use on either Lorenzo or Jana. The bishop better shut her down.

Yeah for Jana!

Excellent recap, Decie Girl! You're writing style is so blessedly straightforward and you covered it all. Thank you!

Emilia wondered last night if Roselena losing it in the chapel wasn't an awfully difficult scene for Laura Flores, since it's likely the actress herself is Catholic. She's done a superb job in this role and last night should lead to some sort of premio for her.

Boris: idiot. I think I can say that most normal guys don't stick around where they're not welcome. This kid takes the cake. Smarmy little rich boy with a strong sense of entitlement. I loved your "hand porn" for the scene in Aldo's "office"! That's perfect.

Decie girl, you're a pro!!! I was really shocked by the chapel scene(me being a catholic). That is really powerful performance. It's like when the devil is being exorcised by a priest!!!Laura Flores did good job.
OK can someone drop the anvil already on that narcissistic Champagne Julie!!!That woman is so sure of herself I can't stand her. Vivi, you're right about Rod and the divorce. For me, Rod has turned into a henpecked husband, and probably later a cuckold one. I am beginning to lose interest on him as the beloved one of Luciana(mi mushashon).

Mike, I agree that it is very likely Laura Flores is catholic. My guess is that they are able to separate the 'acting' with the 'true conviction' just like they separate the 'acting' vs 'true passion' when they have to do romantic/passionate/kissing scenes... you take it as a 'job' and block it out and her faith is strong enough that she can 'act' as a crazy witch in front of holy pictures because she knows it is just that, 'acting'/make believe.
