Amor Bravío #115 (Uni 110) Tue 1/29/13 Champagne, Chocolate, and Chiapas, Oh my! Oh yeah……Yago’s still a jerk.

La Boda
Daniel and Dante are speaking about Abram as Camila continues to mess w/her reboso; Daniel can’t believe Abram disappeared into thin air.  Dante agrees and also finds it odd that Daniel’s files and case history from the police is also missing.  Dionicio is listening from another table and is impactado by their statement that Abram has vanished when he just received a a call from him a few days ago!  El Diablo hurriedly gets up from the table to go do some mischief I’m sure.

Mi galán, Rodolfo, sneaks up on Natalia who’s surprised not to see his “novia” at the wedding.  He wonder’s why she would care if he has a novia.  Natalia of course denies she cares.  (c’mon Nati, how can you resist those smoldering eyes – sigh).  She just thought it odd not to see her there.  Rodolfo turns the tables on her and asks after her novio, Yago.  She explains his niece is arriving from Zacatecas and he wanted to meet her flight.  She’s convinced that’s the only reason he didn’t come, besides she didn’t really want him there because of the drama caused by her parents.  Rodolfo sarcastically agrees that if that’s what she says, it must be true.  Nati gets a little miffed, he backs off and apologizes.  He tries, successfully, to make her smile.

Elsewhere, Dionicio confronts Amanda!  He finds her alone and demands to know how she dared tell Camila and Dan they had once been married!  He warned her not to cross him!  Amanda reminds him that she warned him to stay away from her daughter!  He blames her for everything.  If she had just kept her mouth shut like he had told her, none of this would have happened.  Amanda argues she’s not a liar like he is.  Nati needed to know the truth, mostly because she was too close to him!  She begins to walk away but he roughly yanks her arm.  Dion:  “It is too late for you to put on an act of bravery (valentía). In her eyes, you are a liar!”  Amanda:  “You’re not going to get away with this.  I know my daughter and know that sooner or later she will end up believing me and staying with me.”  He wouldn’t be too sure.  “With me, Natalia can have everything you were never able to give her – everything she ever dreamed of.”   Amanda protests her daughter isn’t interested in that.  He may be able to provide all the material needs but he will never be able to give her love.  She can only get that from Amanda.   Dion:  “We’ll see, Amanda.  I’m more powerful that you and I’m to dazzle her if I must in order for her to stay with me!”  “You wouldn’t dare,” says Amanda.  “Didn’t you declare war against me?  Well then deal with the consequences!”  With that, he stalks off.

Back at La Boda – Los novios are waltzing their first dance as man and wife.  I was hoping to see Cristian bust some of his DWTS moves, but I was disappointed.  Instead we were treated to some flashbacks of their noviazgo, including some shirtless moments.  Nice consolation prize.  As they continue to dance, they share a kiss and everyone applauds.  (They are one of my favorite TN couples – great chemistry!)

Osvaldo asks Nati if she’s seen her mom.  He hasn’t seen her since she left to use the facilities and he’s concerned.  He goes in search for her.  Rodolfo is still sitting next to Nati.  They’re watching the novios dance and Rodolfo comments how nice it is to see someone in love like that.  Nati doesn’t respond but only nods.  Rodofo thoughtbubbles, “Just as I love you.”

Agustina asks Piedad and Hipolito if they’ve seen Dionicio.  He tells her he saw Dion on his way to the restrooms.  Before she can go look for him, Dionicio comes back to their table.  She tells him she was about to go look for him and he rudely responds, “Why, mujer?  I can’t be away from you for one second?”  He suggests they go dance but Aggie tells him Camila specifically said she wanted to dance only with Daniel.  Besides, she wouldn’t feel comfortable at all dancing with him (Daniel).  Dionicio gives up and sits down, like a petulant child who didn’t get his way.

Osvaldo finds Amanda, who is distressed after her encounter with the Devil.  They embrace and she wipes away a tear.

Vivi and Rafa are watching the couple dance and she asks him if this is how his novela ends.  He playfully admonishes her never to ask an author about the ending.  He explains to Dante that he’s just finished his novel about this ranch telling Daniel’s and Camila’s story.  Aaron joyfully predicts he knows how the story will end.  They get married and live happily ever after.  Teresa jokes that only happens in fairy tales and Vivi knocks on wood.  Teresa comments this couple will certainly have a happy ending.  Everyone at the table toasts to the loving couple.  Wow, that was one looooonnnng dance.

Full Moon
The happy couple arrives at their honeymoon suite.  He’s carrying her down the hall and welcomes her to her room as Mrs. Camila Monterde and she completes the sentence, “de Diaz Acosta.”  He tells her to close her eyes as he carries her over the threshold.  A nice departure from the typical telenovela wedding night suite, the floor is not strewn with rose petals but with straw leading up to the bed.  There are stars hanging down from the ceiling and the table is set w/fruit kabobs and a chocolate fountain!  This man knows his way to a woman’s heart!  He tells her just as one day she came down from heaven for him, he’s now brought her the stars.  They kiss and pop open the bubbly.  She takes off his shirt.  They begin to smooch and her fingertips are covered with chocolate when she puts her arms around him – oooh very kinky.  Steamy scene as he carries her to the bed.  We see their silhouettes on the curtained bed as they consummate their marriage.  Whew, I have to take a break to cool off after this scene!  Yowza!

La Malquerida
Dionicio returns Abram’s call.  Abram explains he was trying to contact him because he found out there was an attorney in Chile snooping around asking about Daniel.  He didn’t let her find him because he’s not a very trusting man.  He decided to call Dionicio since he’s the only person connected to Daniel.  Dionicio explains he knows she, the attorney, went to Chile to investigate into Daniel’s legal status but didn’t find any charges against him which he finds very strange.   Abram notes that Dionicio speaks of Daniel as though he were still alive, as though he knows him.  Dionicio thinks it’s best that Abram speak first.  For example, why is it that the attorney wasn’t able to find anything on Daniel?  He listens intently but Viewerville isn’t let in on Abram’s answer.  The music intensifies as Dionicio continues to listen.  Suddenly, he exclalims, “¿Que?”  He thought bubbles, “I can’t believe it!”  then aloud tells Abram he’s still there, listening.  Abram noticed Dionicio became silent as he was explaining.  He points out to Dionicio this is a very delicate situation.  Dionicio agrees and feels that everyone here (in LMQ) should know, but should hear it from Abram.  Abram wishes to know what the situation is like there before he travels to Mexico.  Dionicio’s ready to tell him everything he needs to know but wants something in exchange.  Abram is agreeable so long as this “situation” is cleared up ASAP.  Dionicio tells him he can count on him for anything.  He repeats he will give him all the information he requires but asks that no one know this conversation ever took place.  Once he explains everything that is going on (at LMQ), Abram will understand how everything will be cleared up but insists no one must know he (Dionicio) was involved. Abram agrees and gives him his word (such as it is).  Dionicio laughs and thought bubbles, “Camila, mi Camila, how happy you will be.”  Eeeeewwwww.

Luzma’s Bedroom
Natalia has just told Luzma about the Daddy Drama.  Luzma now understands why Natalia hasn’t come around.  Natalia is in tears and very confused.  She knows her father has a horrible reputation but he’s still her father. She can’t accept that the man who gave her life could be so rotten.  This news has changed her life and she doesn’t know how to handle it.

Luna de Miel – which we later learn takes place somewhere in Chiapas
LA-LA-LAAAA, LA- LA-LA, LA-LA-LAAAAA………our honeymooners snuggle in that totally over the top romantic setting.  Camila wakes him with kisses.  He tells her he doesn’t like anyone to wake him up. They snuggle and she tells him she’s very happy he’s by her side.  She never imagined her heart could have so much love inside.  She wants always to wake with him by her side.  He promises until they’re old and gray…..they snuggle and canoodle.

La Malquerida
In the dining room, Agustina comes down to breakfast in a very, very good mood.  Oooooh, looks like Our Lady in Lavender did some canooodling of her own last night!  Even Piedad notices she’s radiant! Piedad thanks her for their kindness toward Luzma.  Aggie coldly suggests she thank Camila for that and asks Piedad to hurry with the breakfast, she’s famished.  El Diablo makes his appearance and Aggie gushes to him that he was marvelous, it had been many nights since……he tells her not to start with her reproaches.  She tells him on the contrary, she has no reproaches.  He’s glad and complains that she has a way of speaking that, well, he doesn’t like.  Then he says he’s in such a good mood that no one and nothing will ruin his day.  She asks if it’s anything special.  He admits it’s due to a phone call he received with some news that will resolve a problem he’s been struggling with for some time.  Aggies asks for the deets but he explains she wouldn’t understands.  She insists and he instead asks her to be useful and go get his breakfast.  (ugh, he’s such a pig)  Aggie obediently leaves the table and he thoughtubbles, “that call changed my luck -- mine and everyone else’s!”

Chiapas
The honeymooners continue their sightseeing through town and also a river cruise.  Camila even has kind of a Titanic moment standing at the end of the lancha, arms outstretched.

La Malquerida
Our little tortolitos talk about Luzma’s situation.  She wonders if the doctor will let her leave her room and walk around a little.  Pablo asks her to be patient, they’re not due to see the doctor for a few days.  She says Daniel was going to ask Irene to come over and help her study but he didn’t find her before he left for the honeymoon.  Pablo will look for her and will also go speak with the director at the school.  Plus, Refugio’s set to come care for her.  He mentions his concern that his father hasn’t called or even come by.  Luzma wonders if he’s changed his mind about accepting their marrirage.  She convinces him to seek out his father.

BuenaVentura
Speaking of the doofus, he’s sitting in his office looking at the envelope from the lab with the DNA results inside.  Mariano walks in and wonders why he hasn’t opened it even though he already knows the results.  Refugio had no reason to lie.  Cayetano tearfully confesses he hopes maybe she was wrong and Pablo is his son after all.  Mariano suggests there is no reason why their relationship should change.  To Pablo, Cayetano is his father, blood doesn’t matter.  He urges his father to rip up those results.  Cayetano says ripping them won’t change the results and besides, these will enable him to divorce Rocio immediately.  He reluctantly opens the envelope and………..the results are as expected.  Pablo is Daniel Monterde’s son.  He plans to tell him as soon as he returns from his honemoon.  Mariano explains he’s already back.  He hadn’t told Cayetano because he was hoping Cayetano would calm down.  He was hoping this would all blow over and that Cayetano would realize he loves Pablo aside from him being born an Albarran.  Pablo is an Albarran in every way.  Cayetano refuses to see it that way and feels it’s best that Pablo be told the truth.  As much as it pains him, Pablo is not his son and he plans to go tell him right now!  Mariano holds him back and convinces him to allow him to go along.  Pablo will need him.

La Malquerida
Pablo is on his way out and runs into Rodolfo *sigh* and Elutorio.  They discuss the situation of the secretary.  Rodolfo suggests they contact Natalia to see if she’s planning to come back.  Pablo calls her and asks if she’s planning to return to LMQ.  She explains it wouldn’t be convenient right now.  She doesn’t want them to waste their time and suggests they go ahead to hire someone else.  Rodolfo is very sad to hear this.

Honeymoon
They’re enjoying their time.  Camila doesn’t want to return and regrets having scheduled such a short honeymoon but they’ll need to return.  After all, they left Agustina with that Dionicio!  Daniel promises that when Dionicio and Hissadora are in jail, he will take her on a honeymoon throughout all of Mexico and the world.  She’s losing faith that they’ll ever be in jail.   He tells her to trust him.  They make small talk.

Buenaventura
Pablo arrives and he tells Cayetano and Mariano about Luzma’s condition.  He senses something is wrong and Cayetano tells him about the divorce, explaining sometimes there are irreconcilable differences and this is the case with him and Rocio.  Pablo is sorry to hear this and is angry that Hissadora came into his life.  He’s convinced she’s at fault here.

La Malquerida
Bratgirl has come to confront my Rodolfo.  She’s pithed he didn’t invite her to the wedding.  He explains he didn’t feel comfortable inviting her.  As it turns out, their supposed relationship did nothing to break up Natalia and Yago.  He thinks they should just end it here.  He just can’t fake it anymore.  She says he certainly didn’t fake it when they made love in the truck!   He apologizes.  She had a few copas and he should have held back.  He is a man after all and gave in.  “Muy hombre,” she says as she claws all over him.  She doesn’t regret it one bit and wants to be with him again.  He insists they forget about all this.  Iliana won’t take this lightly.  She accuses him of throwing her over because he’s fallen for that Natalia who was surely with him at that wedding.  She knows Yago didn’t attend the wedding either.  Enough! He tells her.  She knows he’s always been hooked on Natalia.  “Because you’re a a tonto.  If you think this is over, you are very mistaken.  Nobody breaks up with me.  I’ll be the one to decide when this is over.  Understood?”  She stalks off and he calls after her.  Ruh-roh, Rodolfo’s got quite a problemita on his hands.

Honeymooners
Camila next takes Daniel to see women weaving those beautiful, colorful textiles from Chiapas

BuenaVentura
Cayetano is finds it isn’t as easy as he thought it would be to reject Pablo.  Pablo thinks he’s still talking about the divorce when Cayetano says some things aren’t so easy to discuss.  Pablo reminds him he’s old enough to know what’s going on; Cayetano was sympathetic with him with regards to Luzma and now he wishes to show that same solidarity toward Cayetano.  He knows his mother has been difficult and lately it’s been hard to even speak to her but Cayetano has always supported the value of family and he’s shown incredible loyalty and love.  He can’t believe all that is lost because of Hissadora.  He knows Cayetano loves Rocio.  Cayetano denies  that Hissadora is to blame for the separation.  He begins to explain, glances at Mariano, and ends up saying that there’s no need to air their intimate problems.   He does say the decision’s been made and thinks it’s best that Pablo stop asking questions, he doesn’t want to talk about it.  Mariano comes to stand by Cayetano’s side as though to show his support for the old man.  Pablo backs off and says that even though his mother doesn’t seem to want to see him, he still wants to know where she is.  Mariano tells him but suggests he give her some time to cool off.  Pablo can’t imagine how she can hurt him anymore that she already has.  Cayetano insists, saying Mariano is right and also asks him to leave her alone, for now anyway.  Pablo reluctantly agrees but says he doesn’t want to stop seeing Cayetano.  He goes over and they share a good heartfelt hug.  Cayetano fights back tears.  I’ll say this for the old man, he came through for his “son”.

Hotel Imperial
Refugio has come to see Rocio to say goodbye before she goes to take care of Luzma.  Before she leaves, she gives her an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, saying she hopes She’ll protect her and help her see things more clearly and touch bottom.  Rocio says she’s hit bottom all right, leaving BuenaVentura the way she did, Yago’s rejection and most likely Pablo’s as well.  Refugio reminds her she rejected Pablo first with regards to his wedding.  “Con la misma vara que mediste, seras medida.”  (You’ll be measured [judged] with the same stick you measured him].  Knowing Pablo’s dignity, Rocio may yet learn a life lesson from him.  Rocio wonders if Refugio’s betrayal wasn’t enough of a life’s lesson?  It resulted in her losing Cayetano in the blink of an eye because of “that woman”.  Refugio can’t believe Rocio continues with this aggressive attitude, playing the victim! Until Rocio learns to admit to her mistakes, earnestly beg for forgiveness and not with the gnashing of teeth,……Rocio doesn’t let her finish.  She’s not going to allow Refugio to continue to offend her!  Refugio responds, “If the truth offends you, it’s because you don’t want to see reality.  Perhaps La Virgencita will help you do that.”  Refugio finally says goodbye.  She thinks she may be sad not being with her but takes solace knowing she’ll be close to the muchachos.  She leaves and Rocio sits heavily on the bed.  She looks at the image of La Virgencita and weeps.  In the hallway, Refugio stumbles, unseen, upon Hissadora and Dionicio in a lover’s embrace.  Hissadora is saying she thought he wasn’t coming by and he says he was in the neighborhood and thought he’d stop by.  Refugio sees him go into her room.  Good!

Hissadora asks what’s new and Dion assures her she won’t believe what’s happened.  She thinks he’s talking about the virus for the bulls.  Oh, no, no, no, he has other plans.  She wonders what made him change his mind.  Dionicio:  “A call I received last night.  It couldn’t have come at a better time.  It’s the best news I’ve had in a long time.  Abram Fracas called me, Daniel’s ex brother-in-law.”  He laughs his evil laugh as Hissadora squeals, pleading with him to tell her already!

Honeymoon continues
Camila and Dan are still with the fabric weavers/artisans, trying on local costumes, taking a few shots, and enjoying what looks like a delicious spread of local foods.

BuenaVentura
Pablo’s got a lot of work to do so he bids farewell to pops and bro.  He tells Mariano that he ran into Teresa at the wedding and she sends her regards.  He’s surprised to see that Mariano knew she was in town.  Mariano and Cayetano explain to him that Padre Anselmo and Teresa are brother and sister and that’s how Mariano came to know she was coming back.  Pablo leaves and Mariano asks why Cayetano changed his mind about telling Pablo everything.  He’s very happy but doesn’t understand.  Why the change of heart?  Cayetano can’t explain it but he simply couldn’t tell Pablo the truth.  Mariano knows, it’s the love he has for Pablo and he congratulates him for that.  Yago sneaks up and eavesdrops as Cayetano wonders aloud if he did the right thing.  Mariano considers Pablo may still find out from another source (yeah, THE ONE SNEAKING BEHIND THE WALL!!) and they may not be able to avoid that.  When Pablo realizes that Cayetano was aware but didn’t reject him and continued to treat him as his son, he’ll love Cayetano more than ever and he’ll know Cayetano’s love is unconditional.  That is what Cayetano hopes for and he also hopes that Pablo doesn’t end up rejecting him when he realizes the truth.  Yago now enters the room with his sourpuss face as Mariano says Pablo would never reject Cayetano.  Cayetano hopes that’s true because today he discovered that although Pablo doesn’t carry his blood, he loves him as much as ever.  For him, Pablo will never stop being an Albarran, his pride.  Yago can’t take hold his tongue any longer.  He can’t believe it!  “Pablo is not an Albarran nor your great pride.  I am and you don’t even notice me!”  He stomps off like the two year old that he is.  Cayetano is exasperated and seems hurt by this childish demonstration.

La Malquerida
Pablo surprises his little cachorrito by bringing Refugio.  (he’s sooo adorable!)  Luzma thanks her for helping out.  Refugio is only too happy to help.  Pablo is worried Refugio will suffer the wrath of Rocio.  Refugio tells him to pay her no never mind.  Piedad interrupts with some rancho business.  Pablo runs off to find Rodolfo *sigh*.

Before he can head back to Luzma, Yago catches up to him.  He’s come to tell him everyone is deceiving him and Pablo deserves to know the truth.  Pablo:  “What are you talking about?  What are they keeping from me?”  Yago:  “Your origin, and the true reason my parents are divorcing.”  Pablo is already getting upset and wonders what Yago could possibly mean about the true reason for their parents’ divorce.  Yago:  “My parents are not divorcing because he’s involved with Hissadora.  They’re getting a divorce because my father discovered that my mother was unfaithful to him with Don Daniel Monterde over 20 years ago.  You are not my father’s son, you’re the son of my mother’s lover!  You’re not an Albarran, you’re a Monterde!”  Yago is smug and Pablo is beyond impactado!  (note how Yago always referred to Rocio and Cayetano as “my” parents.  What a jerk!)

Comments:
Knew Iago was going to be the one to tell Pablo when Caye decided not to. Stupid of Caye and Mariano not to suspect he would, considering the way he's been acting.

Nanette

Actually, figured Iago would be the one to tell him the minute the family found out Pablo might not be an Alberran. What a skunk!

The river was the Cañón del Sumidero, truly a beautiful place.

http://www.locogringo.com/chiapas/sumiderocanyon.html

Good stuff, Paquita.

Iago is living up to my name for him, that much is certain. He probably will be stupid enough to fall in with Hissadora when she slithers her way into the ranch.

Wonder whether Bratgirl will try to fall in with Hissadora, but that would show her stupidity. Hissadora would have her for a snack.

We knew this secret was going to be exposed and it may actually be better for Pablo that it happened this way. At least he won't have any illusions about Iago anymore.

I may as well be the first to say it: The wedding night was censored. Damn those Victorians.

Yago is such a ratfink! Ugh! So done with him! I agree with UA that Pablo won't have any illusions about him anymore, but maybe now Caye won't either. I almost cried when he didn't tell Pablo about his paternity and hugged him goodbye. I've been largely indifferent to his foolishness with Hissy, but I thought that scene was so sweet! And nice reaction acting on Mariano's part! The way his gaze was darting back and forth while waiting for the bomb to drop really helped build the anxiety.

Cam and Dan - adorable as always, even when on backburner (though the shot of Cam with chocolate fingers was weird. And that massage she was giving Dan in the restaurant did not look helpful).

UA - The censoring doesn't seem that extensive to me. I've had to watch some eppys on Youtube (becasue stupid DishNetwork won't let something tape while someone's watching the TV...) and they don't seem to be censoring anything important. The only annoying thing is that the cropping makes the music choppy. If they're going to edit it down, they should redo the background music so that it's not ridiculous.

Illy's a nut. She'd better not fake a pregnancy bc this TN has been good at not relying on cliches like that, so I'd hate to see a huge one pop up. If she tells Nat that She and Rudo were only pretending and he slept with her anyway, would that nip the budding Nat/Rudo pairing in the bud permanently?

Now that Rocio's actually all alone and hit bottom (please tell me there's no further she could go), are we finally seeing a spark of reflection and repentance?

Paquita - great recap. I agree that the honeymoon suite was different and the difference was much appreciated!I dug the stars, not just bc I think they were a lovely touch, but also because I thought it was a cute shout out the when "Andres" decorated Camila's room with stars.

I hadn't even noticed Yago kept saying my parents-nice detail! Ugh! He's such a skunk!

I've been wondering about the "my parents" thing for some time. While I see that phrase as relevant to what's going on in this situation it's all over, even when one full sibling talks to another. One always hears "Mis padres" rather than "Nuestros padres." Can someone explain that?

UA- not sure if it's a Mexican thing or not, but in our family, we've always said "mi mama" or "mi papa" and it carries over when speaking English. There have been many instances when someone has asked if we have the same mother/father. I rarely, if ever refer to my mom as " mom" or "our mother". It feels foreign to me.

Muchas gracias, Paquita, for a marvellous, exceptionally helpful recap. I especially appreciated all the detailed conversations you included, in particular the one between Dionicio and Abram. Much of that went right by me. And the end of that account included what had puzzled me in the previous avances: "“Camila, mi Camila, how happy you will be.” And the crazy man is SERIOUS! He truly believes that he can/will make Camila happy. I guess "feliz" and "asqueada" must be synonyms!

Paquita, like you I was hoping to see some real dancing with Dan and Cam at the boda, a la DWTS. Instead, we got what seemed to me a much too long, exceptionally boring excuse for a dance, the sort of thing I would have expected had one of them not known how to dance or had a broken leg. Yawn.

My favorite scene last night: the one between Cayetano and Pablo.

Paquita- Wonderful, fun recap. I also love the title.

I'm glad that Cam and Dan have so far had a stress free and enjoyable honeymoon. Yay! I love that he got stars in their room, like the stars he once decorated the cabin with, and a yummy chocolate fountain with fruit and other goodies. Yum! And if Cam wants to lick chocolate off of Dan, more power to her. It's her honeymoon and she can do whatever she wants. :)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...I was proud of Cayetano for not telling Pablo about his paternity or disowning him (which was always a stupid, coldhearted plan). You would have to be heartless to look into those earnest, loving blue eyes, and purposely break his heart. But of course Yago was perfectly capable of doing this-- JERK! I think Mariano is right that Pablo will respect Caye even more now that he knows he didn't let this revelation affect his relationship with Pablo.

Dio and Abe have made contact and new misery awaits our unsuspecting happy couple. Boo!

As for the "mis padres" thing, that's just the way people talk. You hardly ever hear a sibling say to another "our/nuestro" parents. I do agree that when Yago said it, it had a particularly snotty ring to it. In general, it's just a normal speech pattern, but I don't know what the reason is.

I thought it was good planning on Cami's part to let Gussy know that there would be NO Mom-Stepdad dance with the bride and groom for the first dance. Gussy was relieved to not have to dance with Dan, and Cami sure as heck must have been relieved to not have to dance with Dio. He sure was looking forward to that dance too. Blech!

UA - so true, I have heard that throughout (it just seems childish when Yago does it in this scene).

My brother and I will say "my mom" etc. but usually only when we're trying to point out that the other hasn't called our parents in a while, or when we're teasing each other about being a favorite child. We're from an English speaking country in South America, but I was raised here, so maybe it is a Spanish/foreign language thing?

Thanks for the recap Paquita. Wow we knew Iago was a petulant child but he showed he's a vindictive louse as well. Doesn't he realize that Cayetano will possibly truly disown HIM after this. Stupido!

I'm glad our couple had their wedding and honeymoon and really dread the bomb that is about to drop. UA had predicted this earlier but Abe is seemingly becoming more and more creepy. Why would he still hate Dan? The only reason that comes to mind is that his sister loves him and that sounds way too much like the tongueless guy in jail. EEWWWWW!

Though I am sympathetic to Nat's situation, her desire to want to make Dio good when she herself was trying to find something on him is so disturbing. If only she could see him when he's threatening - physically or verbally - her mother, she would see him for who is truly is.

Karen - Abe never liked Dan. he and Miriam come from money and Dan doesn't. Abe thought he was a moocher, especially when he was having trouble finding work. That's why Miriam didn't tell Dan when she took out the life insurance policy, she knew he was sensitive about the money issue and being able to provide for her. Everyone (well, the bad guys) noted the life insurance policy as motive when Dan was accused of killing Miriam. So Abe thought Dan was a moocher who killed Miriam for money and then ran off to Mexico to get another inheritance. His marrying falling in love and marrying Camila within 9 months of Miriam's death doesn't help that image.

Vivi, what does the color of Pablo's eyes have to do with anything except to feed into the stereotype of the more angelic, desirable look of a person with blond hair and blue eyes.

If they were brown or hazel, I would have said that too. I have described Dan's big brown eyes (which I love) in the same way. Just a description.

Wow, Cayetano came through with flying colors, and Yago showed his colors.

Paquita, always a pleasure to read your recaps. I mentioned a couple of TNs ago about the mi madre and mi padre thing they always say instead of nuestro when they talk to their siblings. And as many of you said, it's just how they talk, not trying to exclude the other siblings. It's still odd to me to talk that way, but oh well.

So Isadora and Rocio are not only staying in the same hotel, but on the same floor. That will be interesting.

Dion is ready for Camila to jump into his arms when she gets the news. He really is delusional.

Is Rodolfo's new name Rodolfo sigh! now? lol

I really like it when they showcase the local artists and craftspeople. It makes me want to visit even more. Keep doing that writers.

Thanks for the wedding news, Paquita!

Tu galan es mi galan tambien. I hope BratGirl does not fake a pregnancy, or even worse, is actually pregnant.

Carolina - Thanks for the link to CdlF's tango. For some reason, I'd never thought of him with the correct name pronunciation as in Amanpour, but rather plain old English Christian.

I loved the honeymoon outfits, the white shorts/capris with pastel shirts.

Thank you, Cayetano, for realizing your love. Damn you, Yago, for not. Yes, Pablo needed to know eventually, but it was not Yago's to reveal.

I noticed all through CME that both Renata and Roberta would refer to Fina as "mi mama" when speaking with each other.

HellaShelle - yes I know Abe has hated Dan from day one but his delusion, similar to Dio, about Dan being such a bad guy is disturbing. Moreover, he became what he is accusing Dan of being when he would not listen to reason and arrested him falsely. Now to pop up with his sister and possible baby in tow to "prove" Dan is bad just seems like more crazy stuff from an addled mind.

Cathyx - ITA about deluded Dio. He's been relatively smart about things but to think Cam wants any part of him is so crazy. Isa made the right call when she told him, if you wanted Cam you blew it when you married her mother. His crazy is both comical and scary as he must truly live in some alternative universe.

Thanks for the "mi" madre discussion. I've wondered about that since we'd never say MY mother when talking to a sibling. Interesting.

Well Cayetano has proven that he's a good dad who loves his sons, which means he's really gong to feel like crap when Hissa takes over. Rocio will start to look pretty good here.

I would count myself as a feminist, but I have to say I really love how the guys all stand up from a table when a woman approaches. It's just so darned gentlemanly. Love it! Way better than anything over on Downton Abbey. And now that Daniel is married I can turn my attention to Rodolfo who was looking mighty fine in his wedding charro suit. Yowza!

How did Abe get Dionisio's cell phone number?

GoBlueFan- Way back when Dio visited Chile to go negotiate with Dan in jail, he met Abe and gave him his card with his contact info. So Abe was able to call Dio's home office phone the other day and leave that message, and Dio called him back.

I think we're getting a lot of incestuous themes going on as contrasts to each other. What's occurred to me while reading the latest posts in this thread is that Leoncerdo's obsession probably started out like Abe's. The difference between the two is that Abe is an educated man who should know better, not to mention that he is a cop and therefore knows that this is illegal.

I also think that Miriam is Abe's last blood relative. Their parents were dead before the story began and there are no other siblings. Probably no cousins or not many if either of their parents was an only child. This is probably very difficult emotionally in a culture that is a very small minority where they're from.

Not that this excuses his actions.

He's a decent-looking man, educated, and not in the poorhouse. Where is his novia?

As for El Diablo's incestuous intentions toward Camila, this is an unfortunate typecasting issue for Cesar Evora. The two previous villains with this issue that I know of (see our past Dirty Dozen on this one) are actually creepier than El Diablo.

Paquita: So love your recaps.

Fav line: “Whew, I have to take a break to cool off after this scene! Yowza! “

I think Caye should go further about blood not being necessary to be family and that Iago a-hole to the curb.

Sounds like Abe thought Dan was dead?

When talking about the parents with my brother and/or sister we always said either “Mother and Dad” or our parents. It seems odd to me to say “my parents” when I’m talking to them. But that may be just us. Or it may be a Midwest thing. ☺

Abe did think Daniel was dead. He jumped off a cliff into the ocean rather than be captured and killed (I don't think anything else could have followed his capture). Nobody was going to try to look for a body after a few days, so Abe reasonably assumed that Daniel was dead after eight or nine months of not hearing anything about him.

Which therefore does not explain his recent behavior or his concealment of Miriam being alive.

UA: I know. I'm curious to see what that's all about.

I think we're at 50 more eps until the end.

We're 52 episodes from the end as of now. That's a lot of scenes and plot turns at the rate we're going.

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays. It kills me that Abe could be this blind. It's possible that he is also mental, which is seriously dangerous in a cop. I wonder how he managed to not be on duty... or was he terminated from duty for some reason?

If Miriam is alive, Abe has to continue concealing that fact so that any friends/associates of Dan's who are paying attention don't find out about the gross injustice he perpetrated. They could raise a stink and Abe would lose whatever reputation or standing he has in the community, and possible go to jail himself, assuming he doesn't have the entire Chilean judicial system under his thumb. Just having Dan gone wouldn't be enough. I don't think Abe thought this plan through entirely before he started it...especially if Miriam is alive and NOT completely brain-damaged or something; how would he get her to go along with it?

Dionisio is seriously delusional as to his own charms.

UA- I'm sure that Abraham inherited a lot of money like his sister did. He probably worked because he wanted to, not because he needed to.

As much as I'm dreading some of the fallout, I'm kind of excited too for the Chilean drama to start playing out finally. Adding that drama to the mix of the MQ drama, AND the BV drama, should keep us plenty occupied for the next 50 capitulos.

Vivi, the drama I'm most looking forward to is Isa getting control of BV, trying to turn it into a tourist trap, Cayetano getting an awakening about her, and then the evidence to convict her coming to light. I'm least looking forward to the Miriam drama with Dan and Cam. I also can't wait til Dion makes a move on Cam, gets turned down, and Aggie learning the truth about him.

Maybe Abe is not being deceitful in regards to Dan? He thought Dan was dead, but the attack/recovery/birth affected Miriam's memory. Since he didn't want Dan as a BIL in the first place, he didn't bother following up on his escape/death. As a dedicated brother (he might have a wife/girlfriend - we don't know) he decided to take Miriam away from everything and everybody that might return her memory and make her suffer. He still thinks Dan tried to kill her, since she can't remember what happened. Now someone from Mexico (Teresa) is asking around and he just wants to make sure what it's all about before he exposes Miriam to anything. Thus, his phone call to Dio. That was the only contact he had from Mexico. Now we get to see what's next!

Iago ... psshhhh!

New Girl is about to reenter the picture ... oh, noooooo! Hopefully she'll leave Pablo alone, since he's already married, and set her sights (careful, NG) on Iago - let's see how she handles Bratgirl.

Thanks for your great recap, Paquita.

Tell me, how did Dan get to marry Cami? Did he ever get anything in writing to prove Miriam dead? Or did he declare her dead because no body could be found? Isn't there a long waiting period? I may have missed that part.

Some are very hard on Abe—his only injustice thus far was putting Dan in jail without due process of the law—he went underground; the circumstances are yet to be known—the people that need to know are kept in the loop—Gaston and others that were considered close to Dan (Dante) remain in the dark.

His call to Dio was not complicit; he was gathering information about the sudden appearance of people from Mexico inquiring about Dan’s case; whom he thought dead as of last night. He wasn’t jumping for joy when Dio requested complete deniability of them talking; he was puzzled and doubting.

Before we put Abe in the same column as Leoncio; I think he deserves a chance to be heard.

Renata, you say he put Dan in jail without due process of the law like that's not so bad. Would you want to be put in jail without being charged for anything and no trial to prove your innocence? Would you want someone to tell you that your husband and child are dead while you are in innocently in jail without any way to be able to see him or see him buried? I think that's pretty bad.

If I remember correctly, Dante was out of town on business or vacation when Miriam was shot. If the latter, then Abe may not have been able to contact him until after Daniel's escape.

Unless he deliberately didn't try, which we don't know. I don't recall hearing Dante say anything about Abe attempting to contact him in his absence; surely someone in his office would have taken a call or two.

I agree that Abe didn't think this plan through well enough before putting it in motion. He had to have been playing it by ear for a while, at least until an extended period of time passed before anyone expressed interest in Daniel's legal affairs.

It's virtually a sure thing that El Diablo has no current police record under the name Dionicio Ferrer or he could not have gotten into Chile at the time of Daniel's escape. Abe has not been in a position to investigate him in the last x amount of time. This makes him a patsy for whatever El Diablo is planning now.

He is also paranoid, which can work both ways.

You know, although I miss Alonso and Xi, their dying is the only way it makes sense for Dio and Isa to still be free and walking around this late in the game. They let their minions take the fall and get all the blame for the past crimes-- mostly Al.

Cathyx, Abe didn’t go all CSI and look at all the forensic evidence—but the evidence against Dan were pretty incriminating—his fingerprints were on the gun; his hands were covered with gunpowder; there was no sign of forced entry; his wife recently took out a multimillion $$ life insurance with him as beneficiary and the only other person that can corroborate (Dante) was out of the country and plus was Dan’s best friend.

Putting Dan in prison without a trial was unjust; but in his mind he was protecting his sister from a man towards whom he had lukewarm feelings and was guilty based on all the circumstantial evidence. He committed an injustice but he wasn’t evil in doing so.

Dan is my favorite character; I feel his pain and all the injustice-so naturally, I abhor Abe. However, I can see and understand why he did what he did and in his mind thought he was doing the right thing by his sister. His conversation with Dio hinted at him trying to make amends ….

Renata- I agree that in the conversation between Dio and Abe, Abe didn't seem twirly moustache evil. He was trying to get info and he told Dio that he's mistrustful by nature- hence not speaking with Teresa when she was in Chile. I am worried/upset about him contacting Dio because we know Dio is evil and will use any info he can get to his advantage-- even if the person giving him the info never intended to hurt others (Gussy has done this a few times). Abe may become an unsuspecting accomplice/victim of Dio like everyone else.

What Abe did to Dan was just rotten. I am looking forward to Dan finally being able to confront him face to face about this. I'm saving my final judgment on Abe based on how he reacts.

Sorry guys, I now remember Dan married Miriam in the Jewish faith. For the life of me, I couldn't remember. I marvel at you recappers and commenters on how much you recall, especially on past novelas. I should have remembered his wedding. I was too hasty.

Out of curiosity, where did the theory that Abe was incestuously obsessed with his sister come from?

HellaShelle, I never heard that before.

renata, I like your thinking about Abe. It makes the most sense to me that he is not an evil person and any cop would think in terms of evidence and getting the suspect in custody. He would be wary about strangers trying to contact him. Since he’s a cop, he wouldn’t be taken in by Dio for a minute. Every cop I have ever known has a sixth sense for scammers that is unfailing.

The only part I don’t understand is why Abe would have told Dan that Miriam was dead if she isn’t.

Carolina - At the time, it seemed like Abe told Dan that out of spite and anger, to hurt him, and Miriam was muy grave.

Sorry Cathyx, I think I misunderstood were Karen and UA were going with their earlier posts.

At first I thought Miriam woke up and Abe fudged the truth about how Dan got locked up and killed and wisked her away while she was still weak to keep her from discovering the truth. Then I thought maybe she told him about the asassin, and he realized they went away for safety, thinking the killer would try again since Dan was dead and Miriam and the baby would have inherited the ranch after him.

The problem now is that El Diablo is fairly smart. He hasn't gotten his hands dirty yet. His main talent is the ability to inspire fear; he has been careful not to have his fingerprints on any weapon so far.

He's also good at insults, but stupid Gussie is the main target of those.

Abe told Daniel that Miriam was dead because he wanted him to suffer. He was determined to keep him in prison and away from Miriam; the only way to do that was to let him believe that Miriam -- the only witness to the attempt on her own life -- was dead.

My theory about his possible obsession is based on Abe's still being single at his age and the fact that Miriam was no bimbo at the time of her marriage. She was old enough and smart enough to spot a decent man. Abe may also be guilty of some religious bigotry, which is common enough among Orthodox Jews even against Conservative and Reform ones. They also typically do not recognize conversions.

There is potential to go down that road as well.

HellaShelle, your last paragraph may also be right.

Sorry, I weirdly deleted stuff:
At first I thought Miriam woke up and Abe fudged the truth about how Dan got locked up and killed and whisked her away while she was still weak to keep her from discovering the truth. Then I thought maybe she told him about the assassin, and he realized Dan was telling the truth so they went away for safety, thinking the killer would try again since Dan was dead and Miriam and the baby would have inherited the ranch after him. Did Dan mention his theory to Abe/Chilean police that the assassin might have been sent after because he had just inherited the MQ?

UA - I feel like I'm still missing something. I can get on board with the religious bigotry angle, but why does Abe's not being married and her being smart set off incest alarms? Sorry I just feel like I"ve missed something obvious or something.

HS & UA, thanks for your comments.

What I don’t understand is why a presumably intelligent man would lie about something that is so easily verifiable. A little kid might tell a whopper out of spite to hurt someone’s feelings, but most adults aren’t going to do that because they know in the end they will just look stupid. Dan did have other sources of information who would surely have learned that Miriam was alive if he had stayed in prison. And if Abe thought Dan was guilty, it seems to me he would NOT want him to know she had died. He would want him to think she was still alive and therefore, his murder attempt had failed and that she would be around to testify against him. That would inflict more distress on a guilty person. Telling Dan that she was dead would inflect distress only if Dan were innocent.

I do think that Abe has acted out of normal, healthy, brotherly love for his sister and an unfair misjudgment of Dan. Until I see evidence of anything more, that is all I am willing to ascribe to him.

Thanks Paquita, I admire the wonderful way you recap.

I'm going to jump right in the middle of this controversy over whether or not Abe is an evil person or not. Based on his actions so far, I vote yes. He's the type cop that gives all cops a bad name. A cop should be the last person to lock someone up based on circumstancial evidence. He compounded the injustice by lying to Dan that Miriam was dead. Now he's scheeming with Dio. If he felt he hadn't done anything wrong why did he go underground? If his intentions turns out to be anything but evil I'll be very surprised. In the meantime, until the facts to come out I'm denying him the same benefit of the doubt that he denied Dan.

Among Orthodox Jews (and based on the gender segregation during the wedding ceremony this is what I think they are) typically marry young. Miriam looked at least in her early 30s at the wedding and Abe is a plainclothes detective, so he has to be in his mid-30s at least. He didn't have a date at the wedding or she would have been "introduced" somehow.

At the time of the wedding he had no good reason to believe that Daniel married Miriam for her inheritance. He was obsessed with this idea later and for some time before the actual attack in the apartment, which was three years after the wedding. Daniel went broke during his unemployment because of his mother's medical expenses. That's a reason anyone should be able to understand. Abe wasn't reasonable about this.

Finally, most telenovelas have parallel situations in them for relationship comparisons. Abe/Miriam/baby girl (if Daniel's dream is accurate) vs. Leoncerdo/Piedad/Luzma. Leoncerdo murdered Piedad's fiance and kept Piedad and Luzma as virtual prisoners since. Abe actually put Daniel in the slammer and lied about Miriam dying to keep him there. If Daniel has enough time to think about Dante's report about an inability to find a grave, he's going to be asking himself a lot of questions.

Paquita--Whew, and double whew. You sure put some sizzle in your words.

I'm only halfway through the comments, so apologies if this sounds repetitious.

Rodolfo is beginning to make my temperature rise, too. He was so sweet with Nati. (I agree, why can't she do something more sophisticated with her hair--even a headband would do to get it out of her face. Maybe she's supposed to look juvenile. Even Ana looks older and more mature.)

I was sure we were going to have a Hissydora-free episode. Gussy's Dios couldn't wait to hurry on down to TOHIA to share his giggly news with the live-vibora.

The honeymoon [some amplification to a scene I enjoyed]. When Dan tells Camila to trust him he says he's so stubborn and hard-headed (tuerco) that when he sets his mind to something he accomplishes it (speaking of putting Dio & Hissssy in jail), he uses Camila as an example and he mimics her antics trying to avoid falling in love with him. Then they get playful.

Paquita, thank you for a fantastic recap! Totally enjoyed it.

Paquita - Great title. Thanks for all the details.

Yay, Cayetano came through for Pablo! In a way I'm glad, Yago blabbed so now the Albarrans will know what a jerkwad Yago is. Agree with those who think this will only get Cayetano and Pablo closer.

Paquita, thank you. Lots of great subplot detail and intrigue. I thought the dance was rather long for not being a dance at all, but it gave us time to watch the Diablo/Amanda drama as well as an overview of the Scooby Team's love-fest. I haven't seen C.delaF in any of the dancing shows, but would love to see him in action. He's such a heartthrob. Makes me think of the Maize god of Copan. Especially that luxurious hair.

Good for nana Refugio! She's not likely to keep her mouth shut. I can see her joining up with the Scoobies.
—Agnes in NJ

Anita- Thanks for amplifying that little scene between Cam and Dan. I thought it was cute and funny when he imitated Cam trying to resist falling for him. That was a fun and frustrating part of their courtship-- all those flirty smiles, and big brown smoldering eyes from Dan. I couldn't believe she resisted as long as she did.

Juanita and everybody. At the reception: Did you all notice that it had rained? Don't know if that could have slowed them down, but I was a bit surprised after watching the clips of CdF on DWTS that he didn't have any better moves--he WAS in the lead. I can't believe that Silvia doesn't know how to cut a rug. Who knows what the director for that scene had in mind, but I too, thought it was pretty tame. A waltz would have been divine.

OMG. Can't believe no one has mentioned this or that I missed it myself. A friend pointed out that Eulutorio's zipper is down in the scene where he, Rodolfo *sigh*, and Pablo are talking about Nati's returning to LMQ! I checked and it sure looks like that is the case. Major wardrobe malfunction! Jajaja!

Geeze, if anyone's zipper was down in that scene, I would have thought it would be Rudy's. ;)

Karen et al--Dio doesn't care whether Cam will want to be with him or not. Remember that just before she went into the capilla he was thought bubbling that she's going to be with him en las buenas or las malas. Which, of course, with or without Dan, it will have to be with las malas. How on earth does he intend to keep her at his side without pulling a Dr. Alvaro Nesme. And we all know how that worked out for him.

UA--Abe knows very well that it wasn't Dan who attempted to kill Miriam. If he's been hiding her, it was to protect her from whoever was attempting it. Too bad his smarts as a cop didn't extend to suspecting Dio's overarching interest in Daniel while he was in Chile and NOW he's going along with Dio to keep his mouth shut about mentioning the phone conversation they have just had with anyone else.

Julia--just got to your comment about Abe. That, too.

Anon at 3:10--You may be right about Abe still believing Dan was the perpetrator, but after Dante got back from his vacation, the insurance motive was removed. He's probably too deep into Dan's culpability, that he can't change his story now. Besides, he probably thinks, why would Dan escape if he were not guilty.

UA--We had one brief scene where Dante is in either Abe's office or a different officer excusing his absence at such a critical time. He was there to explain the insurance thing, assuring Abe that it was Miriam that took out the insurance policy. And yes, this convo took place after Dan escaped.

UA--I agree with your last analysis @5:23 of Abe/Daniel and the tn parallels. Very insightful.

LXV--liked the Mayan god, but we have to find an Incan god to stand in for Dan.

Anita, I realize that. But I've had a crush on the Honduran Maize God for-evah. And Dan the man just reminds me of him.

I'm beginning to think (based on all of your conversations, and having missed the entire first half of this show) that maybe Abe isn't entirely evil. Just prejudiced, selfish and over-protective of his sis and her bienes. I think the cop in him may suss out Diablo's evil intent yet. He'll be running scared when he realizes the stupidity of his actions. And if he's such a social snob, perhaps he will be cowed by Don Daniel's actual aristocracy. Just speculatin'
—Agnes in NJ

Sorry, but I can't help but weigh in on Abe. Here is what I think happened:

1) Abe really thought Dan tried to kill Miriam so he told him she was dead, so Dan would leave him alone. Miriam was probably still in a coma at that point.

Abe didn't necessarily send Dan up without a trial - Chilean law could be very harsh and not like the US. Remember what Chile's justice system was like in the 70's-80's.

2) Dan escapes and Abe believes he dies since they never found a body.

3) Miriam wakes up; Abe tells her Dan is dead because he believes he is dead. Abe makes the case/paperwork disappear to make Miriam feel better but also because now there is no murder.

4) Abe takes a leave of absence (which I believe is what Teresa was told when she first arrived) to care for Miriam. Can't explain why he doesn't tell his peeps where he can be contacted.

5) Finds out Teresa is looking for him but since he is a very careful and not so trusting cop, he doesn't want to see her. Dumb move on his part but hey...

6) Calls Dio because Dio is the only contact in Mexico that can tell him what Teresa may be wanting. I got the impression that Abe did not really trust Dio...

Right now, Abe only knows what Dio told him. I'm hoping that Abe will end up on the Scoobie's side once he gets Miriam to La MalQ, and learns how things really happened.

And THANKS Paquita for a great recap. Love the title!!

Once Miriam woke up, she would've told Abe what happened, removing Dan's culpability (unless Abe thinks that Dan hired the assassin himself to kill Miriam and the whole struggle was just a show, though it would've been a poorly planned one...).

UA - I can still get the religious animosity, and maybe Leoncerdo was more than enough for me, but I don't think I can make the jump to a second incestuous relationship. I don't know much about Orthodox Jews, but I think the women aren't supposed to wear pants and are supposed to cover their hair after marriage (though I think there's Traditional orthodox and modern orthodox, so maybe there are differences with that rule among them). I think there's a scene where Miriam goes running with Dan in stretchy exercise clothes, and I believe her hair was always uncovered. But more than that, Miriam didn't seem scared or upset by her brother, and if their parents passed away and Dan was Catholic, would'nt he have been more adament about preventing the wedding? I don't know, maybe it's just que yo me niego a creer que Miriam went or is going through the same thing as Luzma because you're definitely right about the parallels. I didn't notice them at all before you pointed them out so ITA with Anita - very insightful. If it does turn out to be true, even if it started after we left off when Chile while Miriam recovered, it'll be good that it's towards the end of the tn because I would not be able to take a double dose of that.

For right now, I'm gong with the theory that Abe was suspicious of Dan from the start because he was from a different religion (and maybe also that he grew up with a single, divorced mom), and didn't have much money. I think he thought Dan was in it for the money, but accepted the marriage because he didn't have much of a choice. When Dan couldn't find work and didn't have money because of his mom's bills, all of the old suspicions came back. Then of course Miriam gets shot and all of the evidence points to Dan and Abe, on the brink of losing the only family he has left because of this interloper, goes into level 10 protection mode. He cuts Dan off from all contact with Miriam and begins punishment the most effective way he knows how: by abusing his power to stall justice. When Miriam gets worse, he gets crazy with grief and tries tries to intimidate the guilty party (your target died, so you're never getting out of here!) perhaps thinking he'd get a confession.. When Dan breaks out of prison, his twisted mind sees it as confirmation of his theories...until Dante returns and Miriam wakes up, confirming that he was SO VERY VERY WRONG. By then it's too late: Dan is supposedly dead. Then he either flees with Miriam before she can find out the truth, citing "starting over" or her/the baby's safety, or actually goes underground for those reasons.

Perhaps Abe is obsessed with Miriam but we could be missing a fine point - she is his adopted sister and there is no blood tie.?!?

HellaShelle- I'm totally on board with your theory. Makes the most sense to me from what we've seen and heard so far.

LoriLoo--We'd be giving the story-tellers-writers too much credit for an additional twist, however interesting it might be.

Paquita, thanks for this lively and very entertaining recap. Good job. I think your:

"Rodolfo *sigh*"

is so cute. When the show began I thought that he was a bit hohum borrrring, but I've become a bit fonder of him though not to the degree that you have.

Anita,

As for Natalia:

"...even a headband..."

YESS! I like the way you think. Just like Matilde in CME.

Waddaya think?

Carlos

LOL, Carlos. I always thought Matilde was trying to look a little to native with her headband. I believe Anita was referring to a headband around the hair rather than Matilde's look of around the forehead.

Don't mention Matilde with that headband.I hated that thing. I wanted to snap it on her head. Pull and let go.

Anita-yes I did notice that it rained! I was wondering how they would've have dealt with it, but I guess that'swhere it's nice to be filming because you can just ignore it, pack up and reset after the storm:)

PDB-no I did NOT notice his zipper was down. LOL!!! too bad SN wasn't in that scene. If she had noticed, she for sure would've ad libbed something!

At the time of Dan & Miriam's marriage they were of the same religion...Daniel converted to Judaism.

Abe was told by one of the policemen that Dan was supposed to go to Mexico & claim a huge inheritance. The cop questioned Abe's theory that Dan killed Miriam for money by asking Abe why Dan would kill Miriam for money when he was set to his own huge sum of money. Abe justified his theory by claiming Dan was greedy & wanted all the money.

There's no record of Dan's arrest because Dan erased himself from the prison computer files.

Abe probably found out later that Dan was innocent and that's why no charges were re-filed.

Thanks everybody for those "mis padres" confusion. I have long ago noticed that when the Albarans talk about their parents and when Ximena and Camila talks about Gussie.I kept asking aloud now why does she claim Gussie as only her mom? Or why does Yago calls his dad mi padre or mi papa. Are they not brothers or sisters? And Vivi as always you explained it right to the T. I love this tn very much I wish it will not end. Hope they don't run out of fantastic plots. I love Refugio's advice to Luzma. Nana is so lovable and astute. How I wish I could say the same of Cande. I watch Cuidado in the morning and I couldn't help get crazy about the character "Cande" the woman who took care of Marichuy. She is so dumb and have nothing better to say or do. No wonder Marichuy seems a little bit "challenged" growing up with her. I understand that this was an earlier tn but I'm only watching it now and I go to archive of CarayCaray to see your recaps and blogs regarding it. Thanks. Sorry for getting out of AB forum. I just noticed Refugio and couldn't help talk about the comparison from this morning's CCA and AB.

I was out at a concert, so I hope this isn't too late to post.

Daniel may have erased his prison record but wouldn't there be another record somewhere within the police department? He didn't have a lot of time to do this while he and his cellblock were escaping.

Abe may realize now that Daniel didn't do the crime, but at the time I don't think he was thinking much about a trial. Do they even have trials in Chile?

UA, I agree with your statement that there should be another record of Daniel's "crime" and imprisonment somewhere in the police department records. He was able to wipe out the prison's computer records, but probably not all others.

You ask whether Chile has trials. Por supuesto que sí. This TN is set in the present, not during the military rule of the 70s and 80s.
