Caray, Caray!

(I combined certain scenes for the purpose of a more flowing recap and continuity)

The Argument:  The guest appearance? Why it’s none other than Paula Abdul portraying Maricruz at the party. Paula and Octavio are discussing what happened at the party in their bedroom. Octavio lays it down that he wants a divorce. Paula calls him a liar, that he said he cared about her and would care about her forever, but now wants a divorce. He says he doesn’t know if he ever cared for her or just pitied her.
Lucia interrupts the moment and insists on talking to Octavio. He comes out and she asks about Maricruz and if she can help. He replies that it’s all her fault for what has transpired, right down to the adorned dress,  but the lying liar lies again, saying that MC asked for it to be altered. Meanwhile, Maricruz continues sobbing saying her mother had the same problem with a womanizing husband.

Awfelia and Santa are in the kitchen discussing the party. Awf talks about what an embarrassment MC is. Santa tells her not to start, and that she should be ashamed of herself helping the witch make MC look bad. Awf tells her that Santa better watch out herself if Lucia finds out she’s siding with MC, she could be in trouble. Santa threatens to tell Octavio what’s going on.

Octavio, Lucia and Miguel continue the discussion outside. Octavio says that none of this would have happened if he could have gotten his share of the ranch.


Bad editing ensues and we jump from scene to scene without reason, finally landing at the bedroom of Lucia and Miguel. He basically tells her that she’s gone too far and everyone will be gossiping about them. She tells him that the plan will work and they will split, and Lucia and Miguel will live happily ever after.

Octavio is pacing thinking about what MC said to him and he realizes what a cad he’s been. He goes back to talk with her.  MC asks for forgiveness. They have make up sex.

The next day Octavio informs Miguel that they made up. Miguel goes to tell Lucia they are skipping breakfast to go to work. He lets her know her plan failed because they made up last night. Miguel leaves and Lucia calls MC garbage again. (Salud!)

Ewsabio rides to the watering hole where MC is washing some whites. I think the only purpose was to rile up MC for what happens in the next scene, and he leaves. As she throws rocks at him, she trips on a rock and injures her foot. She hobbles to the shack and gets TLC from Gramps.

After putting in a hard days work, Miguel drops the bombshell to Lucia that they couldn’t get the loan and it would be better if Octavio and his bride were gone. Lucia agrees.

MC moans and groans over the pain until it’s dark, but insists on walking to the ranch on her hurt foot. Halfway there, she realizes she shouldn’t have done that. Octavio wakes from a nap and wonders where la Senora is. He asks Awfelia who sasses that the Senora is in the dining room, knowing full well he meant Maricruz. He thankfully puts her in her place and finds out that MC isn’t home. He races to the shack to find her and they tell him that she hurt her foot but insisted on walking home anyway. He searches for her and finds her and brings her home to the ranch.

Alejandro is on the phone to Raisa. He lets her know that he hasn’t forgotten, he hasn’t made up his mind yet, and he would travel with her and he will let her know soon. What’s he talking about? That’s for him to know and us to find out. He asks Tobias what he thinks of Raisa and if he should marry her. Maybe that’s what he was referring to when he told her he hasn’t made up his mind yet. IMPORTANT INFO ALERT: He tells Tobias that if he were to marry, she would get everything he has instead of his daughter.
Why would he set the estate up that way? For future drama maybe? He might get a PI to help find his daughter.

Octavio sets her down in the livingroom and Lucia and Miguel stroll in with Lucia being just amazed at how that girl keeps coming back for more and how Octavio doesn’t give up on her. Octavio wants to call the doctor but MC says it costs too much. Just put on telaraña (cobwebs) and azucar and it will be all well. He carries her to the bedroom. Octavio is tenderly taking care of her and she tells him that she quieros him mucho. Not sure if she cares about him or loves him by this reference. But it’s with her heart and soul. Oh no! he only gives her a thank you back, lol. MC should be a little bit worried right now. He says he doesn’t deserve it. (And he really doesn’t.)  He leaves to get them something to eat, and brings a wash bowl out with him, hopefully it was used to wash those dirty feet that are now on that white bedspread.
Miguel and Lucia are back in their bedroom and Lucia asks if he came up with a plan to get rid of Octavio. Not yet he says.

Cut back to the cavewoman finishing her meat meal by licking her fingers. Was it BBQ? It’s all over her face too. He takes the napkin and cleans her hands off. Me love meat! she says. (not really, I just made that up). He then starts to clean her face with his mouth picking the meat out of her teeth with his tongue. (not really, I just made that up too, but they really did start to kiss and I’m pretty sure a tongue was involved) and she rubs her meat juiced hands all over his face. (That really did happen.)

The next morning, Octavio joins Lucia and Miguel for breakfast. Lucia tells Octavio that Miguel has something to tell him, then tells him herself that the loan was denied. Octavio is fed up with Miguel’s lack of business skills. Miguel walks off in a huff. Octavio tells Awf to serve MC in the bedroom, but true to her name, she tells him that she only serves Senora #1. The witch backs her up and tells Octavio to leave, he’s not wanted there. Octavio says he has every right to be there and now he walks out in a huff.

Awfelia is whining to Santa in the kitchen about what happened, Santa sanely asks why she can’t take MC some breakfast, and Awf can’t stand the garbage in the bedroom. (salud!) Maria overhears and runs out the door.

Maria runs to catch up with a fuming Octavio. She asks if she can bring the food to MC. He assigns Maria to be MC’s personal assistant. Cute.

Maria brings some breakfast to MC in her bedroom. The Black Widow spider, I mean Lucia, barges in to spread her venom and asks why Maria is there. Then the spit starts flying. She accuses MC of bossing Awfelia around and she has no right to do that. MC denies it of course. The witch says that this in her house and MC and Octavio need to leave. She emphasizes MI CASA!!! for added effect. MC shrinks into the bed pillow.

Miguel tries to smooth things over with Octavio. First with Lucia is more emotional now because of the pregnancy, then that she was raised with high standards, and ends with the loan turndown is stressful. Octavio says that Miguel is turning just like her. Miguel doesn’t want to continue to fight and wants to move on. Octavio admits that marrying her was a mistake, and Miguel says it’s a too late now. And it seems to him that Octavio may actually be falling in love with her. We get a closeup of Octavio looking pensive.

Lucia offloads to Awfelia about that horrible piece of garbage (salud!). Lucia wants Awf to be nice to her when Octavio is around, and Lucia wants to make up with MC. Awf says this will be too hard but Lucia insist. Lucia will lead by example and goes off to speak with MC. Lucia visits again, this time sugar sweet and wants to be best buds with her cuñadita.

Miguel imagines that being with MC must be kinda hawt. She has rustic beauty and the sex must be out of this world. Octavio smirks saying oh yeah! He recalls all her attributes and has never been loved like she loves him before. He tells Miguel that he’s not divorcing her.

Maria informs Lucia and MC that gramps is here for a visit. Lucia leaves as he comes in and she laments to Awfelia that she now has Jed Clampet coming too, the horror. She’s lucky there’s no Jethro. Awf reminds her that she said to practice patience.

Don Ramiro comes bearing a gift of Moctavio. I can’t wait to see what hijinks that monkey will bring forth with Lucia.

Octavio and Miguel get into another spat about the lands. The bank wants him to liquidate the estate but he doesn’t want to. Octavio argues that they aren’t making any money with it so they should. Octavio blames Miguel for the state things are in, doing things backwards--can't build up the cattle herd without fodder. Fodder takes money and they should be growing it, but Mig didn't get the loan for seed because the place was mortgaged to the hilt. So now what are they going to do?

Octavio has a sensible solution: divide up some of the ranch into parcels and rent them out. It would be a money-maker. The renters would farm the land, be productive and they would get a portion of the profits. But Miguel wants Octavio to give him time to buy him out. Octavio doesn’t want to wait. He needs the money now. Miguel leaves and Octavio thought bubbles that it would be best for MC to go back to the shack until things improve at the ranch.


-I have to run to the dentist. If it needs fixing I will do it when I get back.
