Corazon Indomable Cap. 63 8/8/13 “(You’re) Having My Baby. What a lovely way of sayin’ how much you love me.”
As we open, the Gov. just left her side, and Octavio waits for his appointment with destiny. MA takes him to the deserted bar, where they can speak privately and avoid gossip. Their conversation is intense, punctuated with burning gazes and equally scorching kisses. (Save this one on DVD for a winter night when the house needs some heat.)
At the home of inbred island emotions, bro Andres storms in, miffed that he learned of Doris’ wedding plans in the newspaper. She loved him first, and this is how she treats him! She assures him that she still loves him, as they entwine in a lingering embrace. (Don’t know about you, but my stomach churned a little.)
Ester, driven from her standoffish sophistication by the need for luurve, is outdoors, snuggling with her rustic swain. JA thinks she’s jest a-foolin’ with him and remembers how Octavio hurt MariCruz. Ester says it isn’t so and breaks the news--they’re going to have a child!
The various plots against MariAle churn away, leaving a slight wake between the casino and the town residences. Tav tells Doris that once they marry, the Gov. and MA will also tie the knot. Canceling their engagement is the only way to avoid gaining a stepmother. Doris is not convinced and she won’t sacrifice either man. Tav thinks he would be only too happy if Doris would release him.
Karim shares some of his philosophy—money solves everything and now he’ll own part of the casino. Mohammad, who has one of the most thankless jobs on earth, says his highness is not thinking straight and should consider seeing a doctor for his absurd desires. The absurd, states our Emir, is what spices up life and makes it worthwhile. He may send Mohammad back home with his pessimistic outlook. This is the tipping point for the advisor, who decides to join the plots to overthrow the selfish ruler.

I started watching this episode determined to stop/delete after a few minutes, but I adored the opening scenes between María Alejandra and Octavio too much. As obnoxious as they may be as individual characters, they really do make a beautiful pareja. You can’t ignore that chemistry.
Paloma, another gem was “inbred island emotions”. Ha! If Doris does indeed marry Octavio, and MC marries el Gobernador, there’s no telling how awkward this family is going to get. Son in law in love with his wife’s stepmother, afore-mentioned son in law’s wife in love with her brother…Caray caray!
Fashion aside: Doris’s gray dress was gorgeous. Other than that, #shutupdoris. MariAle’s white sheath was pretty as well.
I applaud the writers for giving us a plot development tomorrow, although I don’t want to lose Krazy Karim quite yet. It would certainly be interesting to have him go into hiding. Could we be having an Arab Emir at Ranch Hell?
And a great recap indeed. I loved this line: "(Save this one on DVD for a winter night when the house needs some heat.)" As Bailey Marie said, "You can't ignore that chemistry." Too bad Mrs. Mejia has tried very hard to ignore it, giving us only snippets of it. Or maybe the heat was too much for her, and who knows how many other hot scenes she left on the cutting room floor. Given the editing/writing issues, I think it's safe to say that the chemistry between the leads is the reason C.I. is such a big hit. (Just to see what a big difference their chemistry makes, watch the equivalent sequence of scenes in MARIMAR - practically the same dialogue, but no kissing there, none of the little touches of the hands and nose that we saw in this episode, and absolutely no chemistry, NONE, between Thalia and Eduardo Capetillo.)
I'm still scratching my head over why Tav just doesn't end it with Doris. Maybe in all the drivel I missed the reason why he keeps letting her string him along by the nose? Speaking of whom, we get it, she hates MC, blah, blah, blah, but how often must we spend precious minute of our lives listening to her repeat it for the upteempth time. Loved how she walked into Daddy's office all sweetness like just any normal day, and BAM, ten seconds later, it's crazy beyotch time. Just #SHUTUPDORIS already.
Oh....an assassination attempt for government overthrow. Didn't see that coming.
Wouldn't you know that the action would finally start to ramp up the day before I have to leave on a week long business trip to India. I will be ever-so-grateful to our recappers next week to read about the juicy action. ( or let's hope juicy action).

"...scorching kisses (save this one on DVD for a winter night when the house needs some heat.)"
and
"home of inbred island emotions" (Yess, my stomach curdled too-- sooo yucky.)
plus your speculation that "Doris ruled the sandbox" but may not have had much higher education. Yes, the headstrong, entitled little miss Doris was no doubt top dog on the playground.
Still a bit flummoxed by the unrealistic romance of Ester and José Antonio. Does Ester have parents? She seems to be operating in some kind of relationship void here.
Ah well. Overthinking again. It's all about learning Spanish isn't it? ¡Por supuesto!
I didn't see this last night. This 7pm show is not compatible with my social life. But I look forward to watching Mari and Tav heat up my screen this weekend. And an assasination attempt?! Wow. Sounds like things are getting interesting.
Why doesn't MA just buy Carola's portion of the casino? She could sell one of the other ones if she needs the money. She's never even offered to buy it.
And I agree with Daisynjay. Why doesn't Octavio just end it with Doris? He doesn't want to marry her anyway.
This whole plot line with Ester and JA is really pointless and stoopid. Why does it exist?
How did the rules get changed about buying the casino? That is not clear.
What is the penalty for bigamy in Mex, Mrs. Mejia has forgotten she has married Oct & MC.
I guess the only reason I endure this mierda is because of Ana Brenda, she is certainly beautiful & the clothes are also.
But where is Solita, I thought MC was going to bring her to the Isle, or did that slip Mrs. Mejia's mind?
Hard to believe this is doing well in Mex.
An assassination of he emir? Now that can't be good for business at the casino.
María A and Octavio both admit to being hopelessly in love with each other. She wants revenge. Why doesn't she just reveal her true identity, bring him up to date, pick up where they left off as husband and wife, fulfilling her wifely duty.... making life miserable for him.

Speaking of birthdays, Happy Birthday! to Cheryl whose birthday is today.
Carlos
I was glad I could help with the recap, I hope you had a fun vacation.
I agree that the leads' chemistry is just right and what do they do about it? We hardly ever see them together, although the last week has been somewhat better.
This plot about Tav not marrying Doris to keep MA from marrying the Gov is just beyond ridiculous - what a twisted family! Add Andres and we have a nice bunch of crazies.
Variopinta, I don't get this tn's success, either, but it's way over the 20 points in rating and it's at 4 in the afternoon, so not exactly prime time.
Cathyx: I think Carola said she would never sell to MA, just bec MA wants her to.
So if both Carola and Karim sign the docs and then he dies is the sale still valid? Can you imagine what Carola will do if it isn't? She may decide to throw herself overboard!
Esther seems quite sincere but they are a couple they is surely going to explode sooner rather than later
Maricruz/Octavio, the rancho, Solita and the monkey, Tobias and the demise of bsc/evil eyed lucifer
and psycho Karim.
Bring on 200 more episodes of this great human chess game of love and revenge.
Now on to the recap.

I agree that the popularity of this novela must be related to the good looking leads and their chemistry. The storyline is certainly bizarre , and people keep saying the same things over and over and ....
I only saw bits and pieces, but I did see the emir stabbed in the back. Que the hell ? I have no idea where this novela is going.
I , too, am missing Tobias, Solita, and the monkey ( who was less annoying than most of the rest of this cast).
Finally, let me raise a glass. ( of water..it's noon here) to my Amiga/amigo , Cheryl and Carlos , for a happy day and a happy year ahead. I have enjoyed the wit and wisdom of both of you .
P.s. I just found out this morning that despite problems with the ESL program and the college, I have my reading class and my speaking class to teach this semester and perhaps my usual reading class as well. I will add this news to my gratitude list this evening ....and if this novela gets back on course, I'll include that bit of good news...however, I am skeptical. good looks, nice clothes , and Ester at the rodeo may not be enough.
Thanks for reminding me about Cheryl, Carlos. Lots of great people born in August!
Judy-- The song is called "Blurred Lines" although the main hook is "good girl", and it is very naughty. :)
Shut Up Doris, is an annoying gnat buzzing around----Save this one for a winter night when the house needs some heat----at the home of inbread emotions----Doris obviously ruled the sandbox in whatever playground she grew up in.
Complaints--complaints--complaints
Yeah! Everything is screwed up, just like the RIDICULOUSLY STUPID
action movies that most always seem to sell out. People stand in line to buy tickets to that stupidy
and nonsense. Why not just sit back
and enjoy the hot chemistry, the beautiful fashions, the beautiful rancho and the shut up Doris meltdown that is sure to come?
For what it's worth---Marimar had been mentioned on several past occasions and so, because Corazon Indomable is [SO BAD!!!] LOL, a few days ago, I decided to watch a little of it on youtube. Thalia is a great singer and performer on stage and she had the lead in Marimar so it must be good, right? I was going to buy the dvd but after watching parts of it, I think not. I didn't like it at all. Chemistry? it wasn't there. I didn't like any part of what I saw and found it to be far inferior to
Corazon Indomable. So go ahead and laugh, I'm going to enjoy it all the way.
Happy Birthday to the August Caray people.

Cathyx - yes marrying Doris would be an interesting revenge plot for Tav. I still don't see how he keeps avoiding the fact of his marriage. Also I don't think they explained how the law changed.
Can't wait to see if Karim survives.
And CathyX I love Nelly Furtado..don't know the song you mentioned but I'll look it up.
Gringo..you have the right idea...sit back and enjoy the gorgeous people, the hot chemistry, the beautiful clothes, and...for me...the conversational Spanish.
And just let the rest go. Life is too short to be looking at the downside...of anything.
I apologize if there's some board etiquette that says that you shouldn't announce you're jumping ship for another TN, but I just caught up on the first month of Marido en Alquiler, and I realized I do not have the patience for CI. In spite of the fact that I have to watch Marido in much worse quality (I use the Internet and Hulu doesn't carry it), I'd much prefer to watch likeable people with somewhat believable personalities dance the attraction dance around each other. (And did I mention Juan Soler?)
We'll see, of course. I may not be able to stay out of the CI water. Especially if I end up with some major task to procrastinate about.
I can't figure out which is more irrational (oh no, CI is pulling me back in again):
1) Ester's plan to marry and have babies with a man who can't afford a jacal, much less to pay for her daily supply of eye-liner and mascara;
2) MA's proposal to Octavio that she'll marry him only if he can get the most insanely proud female on ID to beg her on her knees not to marry the governor;
3) MA's idea that somehow her actions vis-a-vis Octavio are bringing her closer to vengeance on him (especially since letting him marry Doris is the quickest and surest way of ruining his life forever);
4) Octavio's going along with an engagement to a woman he doesn't like for no particular reason that he's ever been able to articulate.
5) Karim's evil mastermind plot to wreak vengeance on MA by buying up Carola's shares of the casino. Will he have egg on his face when he realizes Carola couldn't even leverage her 20% into forcing MA to share an office with her! That's what he was planning on, right? Together with really tacky redecoration, and calling unnecessary meetings at inconvenient hours?
On the other hand, has anyone noticed that Carola is the one person making out like a bandit? After thinking all of her years skimming off the top and plotting to buy the casino at a bargain-basement rate were in vain, she now nets several million more than she could have ever stolen from Don Ale, and gets to screw over MA. (That second part is assuming Karim's evil redecoration scheme comes to fruition, of course.)
No one has asked Solita who got her pregnant now that she knows sign language.
Why isn't Ester afraid that Lucia might kill her? She knows she's capable of it.
I'm not getting what MA is planning by being so passive about Karim as her partner. And for that matter, I don't understand what Teo is planning either. I guess I'm really confused.
