La Tempestad, Capitulo 11. August 12, 2013.
Labels: tempestad
Wonderful, detailed recap, thanks so very much!
I really loved how Mercedes threw Ernesto right out of that club! Yay! And I bet he knows where Magdalena is and won't tell. I hope Mercedes finds her soon.
How odd that Bea didn't know that Ariel had taken Marina to the little town. I noticed that Damian's chain fell off and he didn't put it back on. Now Marina has found her coral too. Hmmmm.....
Fully really thought he had a handle on things like the stuff with Damian and he thinks he knows who "ratted" him out. I hope Jose sticks with Marina.
Nerdo thinks he is Nero, the grand master. I really hope Jazzy finds some way to escape and take that girl with her. It's funny she went to buy Nero rum and went to church, lol. I bet she would have escaped long ago if Nero didn't have her sister.
That was one hawt kiss in that cave. It was almost like Marina's dream but without the rain. I wonder if she will remember that. Can't wait for tonight to see what happens.
I really felt DamFab's pain when he was talking to Foolgy about his deceased father.
Am I the only one who thinks WL's acting is top-notch in every scene? or am I just smitten?
I don't think you are just smitten, lol. I really do think he is bringing it here, I think he is even better than he was in CCEA : )
Oooh baby, another smokin' episode. I'm pretty happy with the level of action so far. We even had a real Mexican standoff with the guns. I've got to hand it to Levy, he can carry his own in a scene with the great Cesar Evora. Their face off was marvelous. Those guys have good on-screen chemistry.
I keep feeling sorry for Hernan because he's such a pathetic loser, but then I remember he is a heinous human trafficker of innocent women. Kudos to the actor who is doing a great job here. Speaking of innocent women, that new victim of Nerdo's (great name) seems to have some spirit. I half expected her to conk him over the head with something.
Oh my, what an ending. JudyB it was definitely sizzling. Yowza!
Mads, William might be right up there with Fernando Colunga in the great on-screen kissing department. I'm not saying for sure yet, just putting it out there as a suggestion.
Madelaine, I also wondered why Bea had no clue about Marina's early visit there - she seems to be clueless on many fronts.
That kiss in the midst of the magical, mystical cave was amazing. Like Judy, I am a huge fan of the "chiseled chest".
Hernan looked utterly colorless in his tan pants last night. He is fairly fearless, engaging in a punching match with Damian (sure to be on the losing end) and "b!tcedslapping" Valdivia. Cold hearted and ruthless, seems his only weakness is Marina.
shallowgal, agree with you and Sylvia that Will's acting is great here. His charisma only enhances it. Sigh...
Diana
Thank you for such a marvelous and detailed recap. Good lord, this TN is full of great looking people. Marina, Damian, Hernan, Estercita... Wow. Plot? What plot?
As to Levy's acting, well he sure has grown since the early days with Maite Perroni. And as to on-screen kissers, Sylvia, I have to agree. He is crazy hot.
I loved how Marina tool off her sky high heels before climbing up to Damian's perch in the well-lit cave. Good move Sister. I was wondering how she was navigating the fish processing plant in those puppies.
I do have to respectively disagree about Ivan Sanchez and his colored jeans. The ACTOR makes my heart flutter and I love how he looks in clothes--he seems to have a real lean model's body. The character, of course, is disgusting.
Elna June
Madelaine/Cap'n Sylvia - so glad you agree. and yes, that face off was great. he has come a bit of a ways since CCEA. although at the time I was already mesmerized by his looks and acting, without understanding a lick of Spanish (apart from hola, gracias, de nada). I thought then, and especially now, that he has to be bigger than this.
Chiseled chest is right. WL can add to his resume by doing covers for romance novels, he resembles Fabio with the long hair & he was a model.
I agree his acting is improving with each novela, even a Mejia novela.
He caught my attention in Pasión & he had a much better blond wig.
That scene at the cave was beautiful, hard to believe it was once a dump. So many beautiful places in Mex, TN's are good geography lessons.
Beatriz didn't know that Ariel brought Marina to the puebla. He must have met Mercedes there at least 5 or 6 yrs. before. Just how did Marina get adopted by Beatriz????
How did Marina & Magdelena get separated??
I liked: Mayuya pipes in that she needs more time to sabotage, I mean finish the wedding guest list.
And: Am I that bad medicine asks Esthercita? (yeah you are, but I’m guessing Damian wants to be a gentlemen)
About Fulgencio saying to DamFab, "...you clean up my daughter’s image and I will clean up yours. With that I request your presence at dinner." Fulgie threw in the marriage as part of the bargain--the way to clean up his daughter's image. Funny because DamFab needs no image-cleaning. He's Fab all by himself.
About dinner, it was too funny, Fulgie ranting at Damian and then calmly asking him to dinner. DamFab had better be careful, there are all kinds of poisons around (remember poor Nelson dying just from the touch of some marine animal's poison).
P.S. The fishing boat was given to Michel, Damian's dad--but we knew that--we allow for slips, Gloria, since we are succeptible to the very same things (except for Vivi).
Loved the aside to Hernan about how to wear tight pants.
P.P.S. I think Damian said his father HAD the proof but was murdered before he could present it and it has been hidden away and sooner or later will come to light. I am probably mistaken, but that is what I thought I heard.
So clever of Marina not to mention Damian's name when Hernan asked who helped her mother. He probably suspects Damian and she knows there's emnity building between them and she already recognizes that she doesn't want any harm to come to him.
Thank goodness we have Dona Eusebia to fill in some of the gaps Viewerville is pondering. I guess we'll never know why Beatriz, who so carefully saved "all" of Marina's childhood mementos never recognized the embroidered change purse. I wonder if we will find out who gave it to her and who gave the two kids the pieces of coral.
So, Jose knows more than he's letting on. He's a good personal assistant. Personally, I adore him.
Thanks again, Gloria, loved your ever so detailed recap, de verdad.
Offering a wide range of items, some gently used, pre-owned wear, as long as they are clearly labeled. Bids starting at $0, or priced accordingly.
1) I'm guessing there's a good stock of cork-soled shoes? [Julia]
Yes. I believe you will find them with the Personal Flotation Devices, Non-Surgical Division. [NovelaMaven]
2) Tight-fitting men's pants (white belt included) in a range of primary colors. Pre-shrunk to a diminutive size through the crotch. Used once per episode (actor complained that they made his voice two octaves higher and made him play the violin). At 50 pesos a pair, they are a bargain.
Orange ones, being harder to find, are 100 pesos. Hurry, only one left in stock. Can ship overnight air express, but to el Pueblo de Nuestra Señora del Mar it must be shipped by fast launch. (Insurance extra) [Anita]
3) I'd like to see a supply of Plot Thickeners -- medium, hot and extra hot [NovelaMaven] They can be added if enough orders come in. [Anita]
4) Carlos--Your martini stability concerns have been duly noted. A line of see-through TempeTommeeTippee Cups has been added to the stock of merchandise. [NovelaMaven]
5) Iron-on compass tattoos, while you wait. [Anita]
Anita, I also heard that Michel Fabre had the evidence, it was hidden/lost on the boat, and Dam Fab has yet to find it.
Diana
The fight scene - Loved it. Hernan did not even get a chance to get a punch in. Go Damian! PS: Did anyone else want Damian to whack Hernan with that sack that he was carrying. I wish we would find out what was in it.
The kiss - That cave is just beautiful and the kiss was great. I loved it.
Jose es muy yummy.
Still behind about six eps, but did watch last night. So far, I like this new one.
Great recap, Gloria. Thanks.
Nanette
Gloria--AWESOME RECAP!!!
"If she heard her shrilly voice, she'd change her mind"
"Note to Hernan, this is how you wear tight pants"
"Hasn't read 'He's Not That Into You"
"Just wait til you're married, buddy. She looks annoying"
Are just some of my faves. You are the master of the witty aside. I thought the same thing you thought!
Can someone translate the cute childhood nicknames? Hermosura? Forgot the other one--at first I thought it was piglet!!!
Well Bea may be a sucker for a cute gentleman caller but at least she's fickle. She was all "Hernan who?" once Capt. Fabre swooped her up.
I have to confess I have, as we speak, a pair of red stretch skinny jeans in my closet. HOWEVER, it's not every guy that pull off that look. I agree with EJ that Hernan can rock the colored denim look and then some (I also hate his character!).
Lastly, Shallowgal and others, that cave/kissing scene was THE BEST SCENE EVER!!!! Wow there are sparks between our leads. And like Vivi said the other day, WL would have chemistry with a wall. That man is to die for gorgeous and it's a pleasure just to watch him walk around in those ripped out, faded jeans. Wow.
I am so loving this TN and, as always, love my patio peeps.
Gloria, thanks again for a masterpiece. This is the hardest to understand TN I've ever watched. Lots of mumblings and confusing storylines.
Yours in novelas,
Katy
Shallowgal - yes WL has improved though I'd say even in CCEA had an amazing sex appeal especially when kissing MP.
I'll take the orange pants. I could never wear them myself, of course, but I could probably cut them up and make them into a scarf.
So glad to "see" you and know that your Tienda—the Stormcellar Bay—is in business. After Tal Mart, I wasn't sure you would ever open another store. Hee hee hee.
Elna June
Hola amiga! As a latecomer to the show, I have yet to see Hernan in a towel. I await the experience with bated breath.
Wm Levy can wear anything he wants, or nothing at all. The body is great but it is his crooked smile that knocks me sideways.
EJ
Certainly not having a hard time with any of the rest of him. :) :)
-Liliana
Last night as I was watching Eusebia filling Marina in on her forgotten childhood I was stuck by what a beautiful woman she is. In Alborada she managed to give a dangerous edge to Modesta without sacrificing her beaty or dignity. Later I thought that the youngster playing Jasmin has a similar beauty.
I enjoyed the little dustup between Damián and Hernán and I'm looking forward to the hair-pulling tonight between Marina and Estercita.
Carlos
I haven't watched Sortilegio that much, so I don't remember him in that one, but I believe he was at his best in Triumfo.
I still remember the scene where he and Maite first "met" and he had this drop dead gorgeous face, I still get the hot flashes just thinking about it (having "Apartir de Hoy" in the background helped some, too).
I go back to watching that scene every now and then, just to remember what a beautiful man really looks like. (btw, for those interested, it's episode 5, you can find the clip on dailymotion.com)
I am among the ones who like Hernan's flashy pants, too, you need to be quite sure of your sex-appeal as a man to wear those. Not that I ever imagined Ivan Sanchez as being shy or anything...
The moment Dam entered Furygencio's house with his ripped jeans I knew things will turn out bad. Way to impress the papa-in-law, Captain!
I think WL was at his best, looks-wise and character-wise, in Sortilegio. I'll certainly give him a chance to impress me in this one, but I think that was his peak.
WL would have chemistry with a wall? Probably, but would he have more chemistry with a wall than David Zepeda has ;)? That poor wall is probably still brokenhearted that it lost out to Lucia.
And just to chime in, I like brightly-colored pants. So much less boring.
I'm so excited that the Storm Cellar is open. I'm going to order some plot thickener for PEAM.
I think the other word was cuerpito
cuerpo means body, so if I have the word right would mean little body. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It could just be an affectionate term, which would make more sense NOW.
In Sortie, he was a smart, listo, successful business man (with bad man David Zepeda to confront him).
No one has mentioned yet that our Valdivia in LaT is none other than Erick in Sortie (everyone got his other portrayals in Alborada and Amor Real). [Originally I had used his other parts, but that sounded a bit raunchy.]
EJ--You missed Amores Verdaderos. We had a busy Patio (people kept changing tables) and a semi-successful Meta*Mart. (I hate to admit that the t-shirt business at Meta*Mart wasn't the best. CME's Emporium was the best.) Maybe at the Storm Cellar-Bay we'll have more success with tattoos. They come in black and blue, green and red and they can be customized. Diana--you will have to do the ironing-on yourself. I hope hub will sit still for the full 30 seconds it takes (Storm Cellar is not responsible for any red iron marks on the skin---may last up to a month.....)
Nanette, was Fern wearing orange pants? I guess I'm not as observant as I thought. I didn't even notice.
Variopinta, cuerpito? Thank goodness. Much better than cuerito which is pickled pig skin. I had cueritos on some Tostilocos one time and thought it was some sort of bland, gummi candy. I found out later it was pickled pork rind. So funny!
Monica Miguel was also the travel agent in Sorti.
Sylvia: I can't remember if it was orange pants/yellow shirt or yellow pants/orange shirt, but Fern was definitely sporting one of those looks before he changed to funeral duds. Must be the fashion for the "hip" crowd.
In Spanish I have heard chicharrones, fun to say. In Mex I saw whole sides of fried pig skin. You can see your cholesterol rise as you munch.
Was I the only one disappointed by the first kiss? All the conditions were ideal- the beautiful cavern, both actors looking attractive, emotions running high....even the almost slap on the face felt appropriate for these two. But once the actual kiss came, I felt no fireworks. Ximena's body language was distant, while William went straight for the tongue! It didn't have the sweetness or passion you should get from a TN kiss. Hopefully they' improve over time ;)
Hernan is such a child. And all this time I was thinking Fulgencio was the melodramatic villain, Hernan the saavy businessman. But both characters are wallowing in the their self-pitying pasts. Hernan's skinny pants do make for some entertainment though ;)
Oh yeah shallowgal, you see you are not the only one! WL more than held his own in the scene with Cesar Evora. WL's physical presence and charisma take him far, but his acting does seem up a notch or two. And his roughed up scruffy looks fit his character.
I thought they'd make us wait a few months for a smoldering kiss outside of a dream. Sorry, Bailey Marie, don't agree kiss was lacking in any way. Let's see what's next!
Clara
Adriana, there is a wonderful French restaurant here that makes the most fabulous fried pig's ear frisee salad. Oh so tasty.
The kiss - Maybe Ximena felt uncomfortable with Mr. Hottie, while WL meant it. He IS mujeriego numero uno.
I loved the location for the first kiss. WL is a great kisser, in all of the tns I've seen him in, hence my wall comment (Julia- yes, even better wall chemistry than David Zapeda had). Bailey- I do agree with you though that Ximena was holding back a bit. Given that this was probably one of her first on screen kisses (counting the dream), I'm going to assume she loosens up later. That photo shoot video certainly shows that she eventually becomes VERY comfortable with WL. I hope that will translate to better eye contact from her soon too.
Having seen bits of CCEA, much of TdA, and all of Sortilegio, I will have to say he was at his best, acting and looks, in Sortilegio (it was just a better role than the other two). This is a totally different look and role for him than those last three, and I'm liking it.
More of the back story unfolded last night. I like it. Who’s keeping track of each bit of new info? I wonder what proof Michel Fabre found on Fury-gencio and where it is? If I were Bea, I would be very disturbed to learn that my dearly departed hubby owned a business, and hung out in a town, that I knew nothing about, while we were married.
Just a late thank-you for this excellent recap. And lucky you -- you got to recap the Kiss in the Cave. Woohoo!
