La Tempestad #35-9/13/13: I Like Dreamin', Cause Dreamin' Can Make You Mine!
Ahoy Mi Maties! It is the anniversary of Mr. Mads and I, dare I say how long? Twenty-five marvelous, wonderful years.
The Refried:
It's a domination contest of who is gonna conquer Marina, Herny who likes dreamin' he is gonna win Marina and Dam Delicious who wants to knock Herny's teeth out. I think Dam Delicious wins this one. Don't y'all?
Maycucu (Thanks Vivi) pays a little visit to Bea, when Bea tells her she is vulgar and will always be in Ester's shadow, Maycucu jack slaps Bea and Bea has trouble breathing and collapses.
Marina rushes to the Oceanfront and tells Dam Delicious he is the only man for her, and not to worry about Herny, she has no feelings jaureva for him! She likes that Dam Delcious is jealous, smoochies!
Herny goes home and laughs his manical laugh! Marina will be his, she is his reason for living and he will do anything to get Marina, including the Ester Bomba!
Dam Delicious and Marina come home and find Bea passed out on the floor and try to revive her. Dam Delicious puts her on the sofa and while Marina tries to revive her, Dam Delicious gets a glass of water. Bea finally revives and Marina wants to know how this happened and Bea says she's fine. Dam Delicious brings Bea the water.
Maycucu goes home and has a yukky yuk about how she scared Bea so bad, she is sure they will be leaving town y punto! More manicial laughter! Say wouldn't Herny and Maycucu make a great pair? Just a thought!
Bea tells Dam Delicious and Marina she was attacked but won't give up the goods on who it was. DamAngry wants a name, full if you please!
Mexico City:
Doll has gone to see Mercy and tells her that she can take her to her daughter Maggie. Mercy is shocked!
R-LayDee:
Marina asks Bea if she wants to leave R-LayDee. Yes she does, so that decides it ,Marina and Bea are leaving and Marina tells DamSad to please try to understand. She loves her Mama above everything else but loves DamSad too. He completely understands. But the look in his eyes shows he lies. He so don't want her to be goin' nowhere!
The New:
Mexico City:
Doll tells Mercy if she wants to see Maggie she better pay up and lots of lana (money). Mercy wants to know what if Doll is lying? Doll says how would she know that Mercy is Maggie's Mama if Maggie didn't tell her, huh? Doll explains about passing the newspaper kiosk and how Maggie saw Mercy's pic in the paper and told Doll that is my Mama? Mercy is shocked! Mercy beleives Doll and tells her she'll give her whatever she wants, she wants to find Maggie that badly. Phone rings. I'll put the convo in the R-LayDee part. Mercy is now in her office, shows Doll the money and tells her that she won't see a red cent of it, until she is taken to Maggie. Doll tells her that Maggie is sleeping in their little hideout. They are interrupted by the guy that runs Mercy's club, her private detective is there to see her. Doll goes and the Manager warns Mercy to be careful, this Doll is a liar, Mercy knows this, but wanted the private detective to go along and help her in case Maggie takes off again. Mercy will do anything, face death even, to get Maggie back. Mercy and Doll, the Private Dect. and another guy, stop at a manhole and Doll says this is the place they stay. Mercy can't beleive it and wants it opened, like yesterday. Doll wants her money. Mercy tells her to shut up! She gets Maggie first. Of course the guy goes down there and there is noone there. Mercy thinks Doll is a liar, but Doll swears that is where her and Maggie live, Mercy screams for Maggie. Doll goes into the manhole and begs Maggie not to hide, she's her friend. While, outside on the street, but not near the manhole, Maggie is way under the weather, as in toasted and is clinging to a wall. While Maggie steals some fruit from a vendor on the street, who sees Maggie steal two apples, throws a bucket of water on her and calls her a thief and screams for the police, Maggie runs off. Doll screams she has proof that Maggie stays down there. Mercy comes down there, sees the lay of this place and feels it's hell, she screams for Maggie, who is on the street coughing and hacking and trying to eat what looks like an apple. Mercy begs Dios for her daughter! Even Doll seems to be affected! Mercy cries her heart out and Maggie collapses on the street above.
Bea's Place:
DamSad assures Marina the seperation will hurt him but he is sure they will continue to love each other even long distance. Bea wants to be sure Marina is making the right decision, all Marina cares about is Bea's health. Marina just wants Bea to get better. Now Bea is having second thoughts about how Marina has already given up so much for her. DamSad agrees with Marina about Bea's health. DamDetermined will follow Marina to the ends of the Earth y punto! That's how much he loves her! Bea thinks DamNobleseOblige is some DamFine guy, cause he is willing to sacrifice for the love of Marina and Bea actually apologizes for putting obstacles in their path. Que, Que, What? Does she really understand, Hmmm..... DamWhataMan, What a Man, What a Mighty Good Man, tells Bea, he is nothing like Herny, nor does he want to be, but promises Bea he would do anything for Marina and never hurt her. Bea thanks him. That's all she wanted to hear! Well, I think she has heard this before! It's been repeated ad naseum, but ni modo!
Jose and Becky Have a Bit of a Jaunt:
Jose is in a book store buying a book, it looks like a version of my local Barnes and Nobles. Anyhoo, guess who is with him? It's Becky of course, he has bought her a book. She's pleased. The thing is, he isn't showing it to her. Jose is just waiting for Dona Rufis to finish shopping and then they'll go. Well, in the meantime Becky is going to return the favor and buy him a book. Ohhh, Becky tells him she thinks, from what she has observed, that Jose is rather boring and old-fashioned, she wants to buy him a book about Modern Life. (Note to Becky: Look Chica, that kiss was so not boring! It was hot and steamy and well, not old fashioned at all! What is up with you? Have selective memory do we? Hmmmm......) Jose doesn't agree with Becky, he isn't old fashioned at all, he is conservative and Becky should buy one of those books for herself in case she missed something. Becky thinks he is rude. He didn't think so and he'll be waiting outside for Dona Rufis and Becky. She does a little pouty stance. Jose is driving and laughing and Becky thinks he is up to no good, cause he is laughing and won't let her in on the joke. He tells her he just might be. She tries to take the book he bought her, but nothin' doin'. They kinda tussle for the book, but he wants her to learn patience. She just can't get what she wants all the time. He's being childish she says and takes a good tug and gets that book, while Dona Rufis in the backseat has a chuckle! Becky finally looks at the title of the book and it's called, One Hundred Years of Solitude (Thanks Vivi). She isn't happy. He wanted it to be a compliment and Becky is all kinds of pithed, while Dona Rufis has a good chuckle back in that backseat. Becky even calls him Josecito as he laughs at his own little joke!
Bea's Place:
DamHappy and Marina are putting Bea to beddy bye, so she can rest. Bea doesn't want Marina to be sad and worry her pretty little head about her, she'll be fine. DamDetermined tells Bea that he will find out who did this to her and they will pay, count on it! DamDetermined wants a name, DamRightNow! Bea is very reluctant. Bea does still want to leave, evidently, but doesn't want to leave a mess in DamJustified's hands. He wants justice for her, Bea, meh not so much. DamDetermined wants an answer yesterday, if you please. He promised to protect both Bea and Marina. So out with it woman! Finally this woman tells them it was Maycucu! Bout time I'd say. Bea tells them Maycucu attacked her and DamJustified leaves the room and Marina chases after him. Marina wants him to be calm, he wants justice, and he'll go talk to her. Marina is worried about their love and the wedding. DamLoveyDovey assures her he will love her wherever she goes, be it the stars or the next town (well not that, but you know) and the wedding is on. So she smoochies DamDelicious and he is going for now, but no worries and he loves her. Awwww.......... Oh, and goodbye doesn't exist with them. Double Awwww!!!!!!
Bea's Place:
Bea calls Mercy and Mercy wants her to speak quickly. We know why but Bea doesn't. Bea is kinda taken aback. Mercy says to forgive her, she doesn't have a lot of time, speak woman, well, not that, but you know. Bea lays it on the line and tells Mercy, she and Marina are leaving town, she can't take anymore of what has been goin' on. The nerve of Bea, it wasn't her place to call Mercy, it was Marina's place. Anyhoo, Mercy begs her to stay put for the time being. She has met someone, Doll, who is trying to run off, but Mercy keeps her there, and says she is on the point of getting Maggie back and wants Bea to stay put until Mercy and Maggie get there. Shock and awe for Bea. Bea comes out after this convo and Marina tells Bea her and Dam will take Bea to the Doc before DamJustified talks to Maycucu. Marina feels guilty for not taking care of Bea. Bea says no never mind and by the by she has made a decision. She is going to stay in R-LayDee. Shock and Awe all around! Marina turns around and smiles and DamAwed has a little smile back and me, I got the VAPAHS (Vapors: a Southern woman thingy you know, all swoony, jus' sayin'!) Marina is so worried about her health, DamSuspicious wants to know what changed Bea's mind all of a sudden. Bea fesses up to calling Mercy, and Mercy begging her to stay a while longer, Mercy is having some personal problem in the D.F., and besides she would have a hard time finding a replacement for Marina and besides she didn't mention the attack to Mercy. She tells Marina she will be fine, no worries. Bea assures Marina she will be strong, won't worry about the things going on in town and she'll be just fine. Hugs with Mom and daughter. DamMeltyPooh, sorry, tells Bea he will give her all his support, and Bea thanks him, he's such a noble guy. I'll say! DamSweet will go to the Doc with Marina and Bea. Oh, goody, here comes obessive Herny, walks right in, sits right down, Daddy let your mind roll on, just kidding. DamPithed is wanting to know how Herny has the nerve to walk right in as if he owned the place. Herny pays him no never mind! Not 'splaining nothink. Herny has bidness with Marina. Well take care of that at Neptune, not at the casa. He can't come and go there as he pleases, DamPithed tells him. Now it's the Macho 101 lesson, Herny tells him he is the boss of him, so there, no orders. DamPithed says that he is the one Marina loves so there. I'll punch you, no I'll punch you and Marina has to step inbetween the two of them. Marina is pithed that Herny picked this time to come by, she'll talk to him later, and she dismisses him, oh Snap! He's pithed! DamPithed is tired of Herny dropping on by, anytime he feels like it, so DamPithed is going to get the Doc and he goes. As Herny drives away, he swears this is the last time that DamCrap will do this to him!
The Parrot Club:
Lolo is feeding the parrot, but wants assurances he won't bite Lolo. Aw, he wants the parrot to come home with him, how about coffee, nah, fish is better, they can talk, so how about it? Lolo needs a chica. Candy come by and wants to know what he is telling the parrot, well Lolo explains he's lonely, Candy can't beleive it, he is always so cheerful. Well, he explains he is a lonely dude and would love to have someone to come home to. Candy can't beleive he can't find a good woman he is such a great guy! He smiles. Lolo wishes he had women falling all over him like Damcomehither does, but Candy tells him, it isn't the looks, its the heart. He just wants to look like the rest of the crew. She'd like someone like Lolo. Here comes DamDetermined. He calls to Lolo and has a little meet with his crew. They will now be adding bodyguard duty to their land duties. They need to protect Marina, aye, aye, mi Capitan! Hey, I know to fab bodyguards named Angel and Guzmancito, jus' sayin'. They will go out fishing early, so they can be back in time to keep an eye on Marina. DamDetermined wants them to let Laz know too. Ruh, Roh, guess he didn't get the word that Laz quit after DamLost got, er, lost. DamDetermined is pithed!
In the Middle of BFE:
Laz is tossing something around when the Commandate pulls up. Seems Laz has another duty, he is undercover for the Commandante! The Com. wants to know some news. Seems the only ones involved so far are Nereo, Lara and Valdivia, he hasn't seen anyone else. But there is one curious thingy. Fully tried to talk him out of joining this crew, he felt he was a young kid, wet behind the ears, so to speak. The Com. can't beleive it, Fully caring about someone else besides himself, no puede ser!!!! He wants Laz to find out where this location is, the cabin, they are taking the women and to let him know, and please be very careful, don't get outed. Laz says he'll be careful. Phone rings for the Commandante. It's one of his men letting him know that Fully is at Nereo's and he is gonna go. He tells Laz to keep a sharp eye out for Jaz' sister, and they will do something at that time, he goes, and Laz wonders to himself if the Com. is in love with Jaz, Ruh, Roh.
Streets of R-LayDee
On his way down the street DamPithed runs into Maycucu! Oh joy! He can't beleive he is seeing Maycucu all tarted up like Ester, but that isn't what he came to talk to her about, if she so much as gets near Marina or her family, Maycucu will pay, got that???? She gets all pithy with him and says, oh what, you gonna kill me like you did..... DamPithed tells her to shut it! He knows what she is up to. She always wanted Ester's life, the life she never had, so she moved on in at the Salazars and he wouldn't put it past her to sleep with ole Fully to get what she wants. That shuts Maycucu up! DamPithed says that Maycucu would do anything or anyone to get what she wants. Maycucu calls him a liar. Maycucu then caves and tells him she doesn't want this to get out, she admitted it without really saying, but it would cause Delfina so much pain. DamPithed tells her to listen and listen well, he doesn't care a hoot about she is up to with that Fully, but the next time she tries something to Marina or Bea, he'll get up at Sunday Mass and tell the whole town just what she has been up to, as in Fully's lova. Oh, Snap! She caves as in don't tell, he won't as long as she stays far away from Marina. She wants to know one last thing before he goes. Who told him she was Fully's lova? Her of course! He walks away. She thinks to herself the love she felt for him has now turned to hate. She stares daggers at his departing back!
Somewhere Under the Radar:
Hada is looking in the bathroom mirror asking herself who she is. She can't beleive she can't remember who she is, or what her name is. Hada disrobes and gets in the shower. Ick Alert, I say ICK ALERT***** Ernie the perv, has come into the bathroom, Hada is looking kind of out of it, and looks repulsed to me. He tells her she is beautiful and his foreva and eva, yuck hugs and who knows what else. I can't stand this scene, sorry!
Fully's Office:
Seems the last "shipment" (of girls) was damaged goods and Fully assures the person on the other end of the phone, it won't happen again. The next shipment will be fine and dandy, no damage. Fully hangs up and curses Nereo, calls him an executioner and phones someone. It's Herny he calls of course. He tells him to meet him at Nereo's it's urgent and don't ask, he isn't telling just be there, click!
Nereo's Dive:
Fully has a hold of Jaz' arm and is pithed the girls are all bruised and battered. His job is to make sure they get to the destination unharmed, not full of bruises and terrifed! The clients are complaining! Nereo thinks a good beatdown is in order for them to understand who is boss. Can we on the Patio throw skillets at him? I want to knock him over the head! Anyhoo, Fully wants him to understand no more beatdowns, no more bruises, Nereo better make sure they are fed right, and calm or else, it's sleeping with the fishes for him, capiche! Herny picks this time to come in and calls the place a pigsty and Nereo is a pig. Nereo tells him to pay him more, he'll buy a palace (?) so he can properly entertain them, and besides what in the Sam Hill are they doing there, anyways? Herny also wants to know what he is doing there? Fully tells him about the beatdowns, the girls are being subjected to, the maltreatment and the clients are wanting to return the girls. Herny calls Nereo an animal and Nereo says okay, pay what you owe me and I'm outta here. The cops are listening and seeing everything in thier discreetly parked van outside. Nereo says now see if you can find someone to take care of the merchandise! Herny smiles that snakey smile and tells Nereo they really appreciate the job he's done, but the merchandise is like delicate, very special they are like fruit. He wouldn't buy the bruised ones would he. Nereo rolls his eyes. He wants to know what they want? Him to molly coddle the little girls, by fixing their hair, making the beds so they can step all over him? The Com is now in the van listening and one of the men in there has a chuckle. Is Herny in Wackadoddle land? Herny gets in his face and calls him an imbecile! So Herny reminds him, he wants out, any place can be his grave. Herny also tells him they have someone to replace him Laz! Ruh, Roh, so Nereo better be following orders. Fully tells him he better, then Nereo asks who is he taking orders from, who's the boss in other words? In unison Herny and Fully say they are! Knock on the door and it's, wait for it, The Commandante. He wants to know what the Mayor of R-Laydee and the young millionare, that would be Herny, are doing hanging with a guy like Nereo? Herny grins that smarmy grin!
As We Walk In Fields of Gold:
Marina and Dam Delicious are walking in a field of golden flowers and she is thanking him for herself and her Mother and that Bea is safe now with Jose and Becky. They will watch over her. Dam Delicious tells Marina he talked to Maycucu and told her to stay far away from Marina and that he and the guys will be doing bodyguard duty. She thanks him. They smoochy as he tells her he would do anything to make her smile. More smoochies. Marina feels so safe in his arms, and he is glad Bea is staying and calm and thanks Dios for Mercy getting her to stay in town. He will be glad when all the chisme (gossip) goes away and then they can stay foreva, and eva and always. Sigh! I am getting the VAPAHS again. Please excuse. She smoochies him all over his face and thanks him for being so great with her and her family and with the people of the town. Rumor has it, a birdy told her, how great he is with kids, ya know, buying them clothes and toys and taking them for rides, he lies and says it so ain't so. It's okay, she knows the real deal, he is embarrased by the riches of praise, noone has done that. She laughs and yells out his secret about being the best guy in the world, he swings her around and they land on that field of gold. He doesn't want praise, he just does what is right, so she is gonna kiss him till she passes out, no not that, but they smooch a lot! These two really need to get a room, or better yet, their own place, ya know! End of Epi!

My favorite line from last night was when Lolo said to Candy - I'm no DamFab! LOL
I think they were foreshadowing a Lolo and Candy pairing.
Should we take bets on how long it will be before Bea goes back to her "DamFab is not the right man for Marina" attitude? I was quite surprised when she said that he was noble. But knowing her she'll probably go back to not liking him again. Just a guess not a spoiler.
DamFab made a DamLuckyGuess when he accused Esteryuya of sleeping with Fully and she ended up admiting it. Ha! The look on Esteryuya's face was priceless.
Loved the book Jose gave Rebeca - Cien Años De Soledad by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. That book was perfect for her.
Oh and I was so happy when Robles saw Hernan and Fully at Nereo's through the camera. Now he is on to them. Yay!!

If Lolo is going to start crushing on Candy (which is better than his crush on Mayuya), he'll likely have some competition, because they have been hinting at something between Bagre and Candy. May cause a rift in the brotherhood of fishermen.

Since no one took up the bet on how long before DamFab changed DamDum's mind on leaving (and weren't we surprised when it was Bea herself), let's do at least a show of hands on how many episodes it takes for Bea to revert (hey, is there a coinkydink in her name, Reverte?????).
I would say that if Maycucu has been warned about anymore attempts to rid the pueblo of the Revertes, it will be up to Herny to work on Bea. She's putty in his hands.
I'm going to guess by Hump Hunk Day next week.

I am a little confused about DamLucky saying that May was Fully's amante. Que? Where did that come from ? Was it just a lucky guess? How would he know that ? Odd.
I am getting very frustrated watching poor, dirty, hungry , homeless , and now wet...Mag. Mercedes gets so close to finding her. She really had a meltdown in the sewer...ewwww oof bleccchhh.

Susanlynn- I nearly gagged when Mercedes sniffed Magda's scrap of clothing left behind in the sewers. You know that thing must be rank! It looks like Magda is having a health crisis, and it just might be easier for Mercedes to grab her and take her off the streets if she's sick.
Dam's excuse for guessing that Mayuya is Fully's lover is that he knows women. And I guess he knows BSC women well enough to guess that someone like Mayuya would try to insert herself in every way in the swanky Salazar home.

Eli: I'm bothered by that too. Delfina needs help and so does Esteryuya for that matter. Fully was the only sane one when he said that Mayuya impersonating Esthercita was sick.
There's no doubt that Delfina is not in her right mind right now. She is blinded by grief, and should be seeing a counselor. But unfortunately, Esteryuya is her only companion and advisor. Perhaps the Padre can talk some sense into her.

I was thinking of a comment made by someone a few days ago about one of this novela's themes being mothers and daughters. We have Delphina who loves her daughter but spoiled her which was not doing her a favor. Raising a child to feel entitled and letting him or her be disrespectful of others is not doing him or her a favor. Then, we have Bea who loves Marina, but she is needy and clingy and wants to control her...also not a favor. Next , is Mercedes who has spent her whole life watching Marina from afar and searching for Magdeliina. She has never had a chance to be a mother, but she has tried to protect Marina by staying away from her and then giving her a job when she needed one. Finally, Mayuya's mother abandoned her, and she is the worst of all the daughters. I am wondering what will happen to Mag. Is she doomed from her life on the streets or can the love of her mother and sister save her???? I hope that she can be saved.

Viv: I also sort of thought the writers were lining Cande and Bagre up. Didn't she bring him flowers in the hospital? Cande looks too old for Lolo but it could be all the makeup. But ITA with Diana that at least she speaks to him kindly. And anything beats Mycuckoo.
It was beyond irritating the way Hernan walked into Marinas place like he owned it and then called Dam an imbecile and said he was his patron. I blame Marina for this because she knew she was making Dams sworn enemy a partner. At least she was irritated with Hernan vs her usual syrupy sweet behavior toward him.

Mr. Mads and I had a blast! He took me out for surf and turf, he only had turf cause he is allergic to shellfish. Then came the wonderful, magical surprise. He really floored me, I have to say.
A bit of history, when I was stationed at Guantanamo (GITMO), and I won't tell you when, but it was before the prison was on it. Anyhoo, there were dances every weekend, cause there isn't much to do there. Well, this was way before I met Mr. Mads, I was dating a Cuban, er hottie! And could this guy dance. And no he didn't look like WL. He was more like CE but trimmer and very fit. Anyhoo, he taught me some salsa while I was stationed there. We went dancing all of the time.
FF>>> a couple three years later to a Division Christmas party where I met my hubby. He worked in a different department. He asked me to dance, and the poor guy had two left feet. I didn't care cause it was love at first sight! So I tried to teach him to dance, but didn't have much success.
So FF>>>>> to Saturday night. So he tells me he has got this great surprise and we end up going to a dance club on the beach. We had a drink and he asked me to dance, so I went willingly, thinking I'd have to lead and get my toes stepped on, but YOWZA, the man can dance! Unbeknownest to me, six months ago, on his lunch hour, he took lessons! We danced until midnight! I had so much fun, and Mr. Mads was loving it. Now we are going dancing a lot! And these women are really young women. In the storyline I think Jaz is only like 18 at the oldest. I just hope this storyline wraps correctly and not in left field. I want all of the traffickers to pay big time!

And these women are really young women. In the storyline I think Jaz is only like 18 at the oldest. I just hope this storyline wraps correctly and not in left field. I want all of the traffickers to pay big time!

And thanks to each and everyone of you for liking my background on Mr. Mads and I. I agree with Susanlynn on love at first sight leading to long marriages and also fun in a marriage. You have to have fun, no matter the circumstances, seperations, and we had a lot of them, due to deployments on both our parts, and communication. That I think is the secret. As long as you are both on the same page, so to speak, you are in there ; )

MADS...I've thought about your wonderful celebration a lot. And I was out to lunch today with a bunch of my students and told them about your husband's wonderful surprise. THEY LOVED IT...and some of them got quite misty-eyed.

Hey Mads, Sorry I couldn't comment more on your hilarious and astute recap. Blasted Comcast went out yesterday and won't be fixed until tomorrow! Thank goodness for my local public library. (Makes me think of JudyB who often posts from her library.) But I enjoyed reading all the comments from my phone, fun stuff.
