PEAM #143- One is Having a Baby, One Doesn't Want a Baby and One is Having a Baby and Doesn't Believe It. Oh, and a Disciple Has Been Elevated!
Labels: Manda
Rogue wants forgiveness and I am taught to forgive BUT I am not forgetting anything that he has done.
I am surprised at how fast Ricardo climbed the religious ladder!!
Discua and Marta's twin both just came back from India. Casualidad? I think not.
No, seriously, I can't tell the three of them apart.
I also cannot believe that Elias would up and leave his child -- and I hope against hope that Patty does not go back to Rog, no matter what kind of forgiveness he asks for. Patty is like Veronica inside out, when she does something evil she is guileless as opposed to V's toxic narcissism. It was very funny when the lawyer had to explain secuestro to V, who just said Juarever!
Just read an interview about Jorge Aravena and Fer's onset dispute, and that he might be coming back in a later episode. I really like what his work as Elias and hope it's true.
I am also puzzled as to why Chucho didn't immediately call the police as soon as Alma confirmed that Vero was the one who kidnapped her. He has Delia on speed dial. It wouldn't have been that hard.
I also can't believe the writers are going to give Vero a second child. Vero! We've been trying to think of ways for her to lose custody of the one she already has.
I am not pleased that Elias is leaving, although I understand it was real life issues that caused them to change things. Now it looks like they are redeeming Rogue faster than they likely originally intended in order to bring him back into Pati's life.
I am sorry to see Elias leave and Rogue the snake slink his way back to Paty. -Ewwwww!
Carvivlie, Vivi, and Tablet Jefa, I also do not understand how Veronica has not been arrested. Veronica is so goofy she seemed to be surprised that she had actually kidnapped Alma.
I liked the conversation between Cachita and Sebastian and hope she can get back with Panfilo.
Looks like Paty will not be strong enough to stand on her own and will end up getting snookered back in by the ever repentant Rogelio.

Marvelous recap. I like the way you put similar things together in your recap, it does flow better : )
Add me to the list of those that can't believe Moronica is preggers and that she was sooo surprised that she actually kidnapped Alma. What did she think she was doing, slumming and having a meeting with Alma, perchance? Moronica is just like her name, a moron.
I was shocked that Rogue confessed his sins to Ferny with Xochi there and actually went to Discua and asked for forgiveness. I hope he does as she said and confesses his money laundering. I still don't like that he calls Chucho a secretario, that time has long passed!
I too am sad that Elias is leaving for New York, I wonder if Pato will really go with him? Hey, it could happen, but then again, probably not. If Rogue does try to get Pato back, I don't think it will be very easy for him. Pato has changed a lot. I can't wait to see if Pato actually goes.
Surprised too by Rico Suave and being the new Teacher. I wonder if Maricela can hang with that.
I really hope that Alma and the bebe are going to be okay and that she stays on bedrest like the Doc told her.
As far as Sebas and Susana, I wonder if Susana will take him back? They continue with this AARP love story, it's kind of cute though.
Oh, and what happened to Malvino? Remember Rogue's main henchie? The actor is now on La Tempestad in la carcel there, named the Dragon, lol.
I have long been amused by how "blood pressure" is used in telenovelas. People are always fainting and blacking out, either because their pressure is too low or it has spiked too high. Not very Real Life but then nothing else is either.
And why in the Sam Hill can't Alma just work from home? She's got a computer and a printer I'm sure, plus a telephone. No reason why she has to be on site. Again, why do I bother being logical? The writers seem to want at least two horrible, dreadful, awful, terrifying dilemmas per episode in this comedy.
Thanks for looking up "zancuda". I presume that was the term Chatita used for Susanna's long-leggedness. I should have hauled out my diccionario last night but was feeling very "juarever".
Enjoyed your recap more than the over-the-top episode, that's for sure.
First off - lousy to be an Elias fan. So I guess what I read online a few weeks back was true, and he won't be gracing our screens. BOOOOOOOO!
Now, I speculated yesterday to justify Pati back to Rog they would have to make him start moving to the "light", but for heavens sake, I didn't expect it all in one episode! Loved how Ferny stayed cool...he's grown so much as a person. Honestly, I get more of a kick out of watching he and Rog than I do any of the other relationships on this show. The actors just give it their all. So, do we get Rog confessing yet? That would seem to pull him off the plot lines too..I'm guessing he finds out about the baby and puts the confessing on hold?
Speaking of the Virus baby...really? What is with all the unexpected pregnancies in these TN's lately? So not funny. Babies shouldn't be treated as a plot device...they want PSA's--how about how to start acting responsibly in sexual relationships. I'm getting a bit sick of this in plots can you tell?
The whole Alma hyper-ventilating about work was so ridiculous. Call HR and report your hospitalization and take a leave of absence. And as Judy pointed out, then work from home during your convalescence. If that staff was trained half way decently, there should be a plan in place to fill in gaps when someone goes out. What is she - a workaholic that can't imagine not showing up every day? Pancho is her boss-- think about it, Pancho. Not exactly someone to get afraid to tell. Guesses who comes back to Avon to take over?
Make this Marta plot go away. So Chucho will be all about Avon and Alma, Elias is leaving town (ARGH!) Virus will be running to the bathroom for the next few weeks. Hello...Val is out there people! This plot better not go there. Daisynjay

Majorly bummed Elias is being written off the show. His and Pato’s storyline is the best one going on at the moment. At least they are in the beginning of the relationship. It would be very strange if they had been dating for a while and declared eternal love and then he left and we never saw him again (unless they killed him off, which wouldn’t be too outlandish for this TN). Also, Pato isn’t completely over Rog and now that it looks like they’re trying to make Rog good enough for Pato, that could work. But they’ve got plenty of time for that—not necessary to have it done in one ep. I would have liked to see more soul searching before he started making amends.
My fear? Vero takes it on the lam and takes Vale with her.
This feels like ultimas semanas type of stuff. How did Vero think she wouldn’t get busted for this?
Seriously, how could Vero not know she was pregnant? Especially having been pregnant before, and why so surprised. At the beginning of their relationship she and Rog were doing it like rabbits. And let's have Vero have another baby, because she's doing so well raising Vale at the moment.
That scene between Elias and Jesus was awkward to watch.
Believe Pato will tell Elias that she's going to stay to help Alma.
OK. I’ve had plenty of time to brood about it and I’m REALLY REALLY peeved that Elias is leaving.
Just wanted to add my comments before reading the recap/comments.

I can believe that Vero didn't know she was preggers. I've only had one child, but my bff has three. Her first child, she wasn't sick at all, the second though, she couldn't keep anything down, same with the third. It varies with each child. Same with all the over eating. : )
I know I said that I thought Ricardo would take over the church, but now that it’s happened, I’m thinking he’s only been there for, like, two days.
And could that child please not be put through emotional trauma every other day. This time it’s having her beloved Papa Elias leaving. And we know what’s going to happen next.
Daniela: hope you’re right about Elias, but not holding my breath.
Vivi: maybe he doesn’t want to put his daughter’s mother in jail. Definitely should “blackmail” her into giving him full custody, though.
Anon 5:36: Thanks for the info re: Alma and her memory. I didn’t catch that.
JudyB: re: Alma working at home. Maybe the doctor wants to lower her stress levels and obviously lying in bed thinking about work isn’t doing her any good. That would be my guess. I try to find the logic—somewhere out there.
Madeleine: thanks for the info. I prefer to believe that she should have known and that she’s an idiot.
I'm also thinking Jesus will end up back at Avon.
Now if it was a long running series without end and the star had a problem, or contract coming up, that is one thing. But all of these actors should have been signed for the duration of the show so Fernando should have been told to lump it!
I hate seeing Elias leave!!!
If they make Elias leave, I hope they bring him back quickly. He is one of my favorite characters. Couldn't they all have just had one of those coworker bonding and conflict resolution things? Maybe a ropes course and group therapy positivity, relaxation, and communication games?
I had hoped Rogue might try to redeem himself, but I was surprised he did such an abrupt turnaround. Not very realistic. I wonder how ballistic he'll go when he finds out Vero's pregnant.
Speaking of Vero's pregnancy, apparently Rogue has no trouble procreating. So if Pati wasn't able to get pregnant all that time she was trying, perhaps she is infertile, like Elias? Or were they merely being uncharacteristically realistic about how long it takes many people to become pregnant?
I bet Discua's long-devout acolytes are going to be pithed in a non-luz-worthy way when they find out she's handed the place over to Ricardo. He only got interested in this religion a few days ago! Has he even finished the book yet? Does he know the whole song?
As I said, if what I've read is true. Maybe it's something we know nothing about and this was the only way to resolve whatever the issue was.
Vero preggers? Oh yuck and double yuck.
It looked to me like Alma forgot some of what happened to her when Vero kidnapped her. But I still can't believe Chucho didn't tell Delia that Vero kidnapped Alma. Really? After all the torture that Vero has put him through? I guess this is Stupid Galan week. (Or maybe that's every week?) No matter, the recaps have been terrific!
Though there are moments when she seems to be redeemable, too.
What's that line Harvey Keitel's character says in National Treasure? "Someone's going to have to go to jail."
