CI, # 114 -- Fri. 10/18/13 -- Don’t Know Where the Vengeance Went, but Now It’s All About Luurve

CeCe is on leave for tonight’s recap due to exams, so La Paloma is reporting instead. Many scenes are compressed and combined by topic, so they may be out of order.

It’s another night of back-and-forth emotions for Tav and MC. Their attempts to find new partners leave them back at square one, feeling the old feelings. Details of this mess follow.

Previously
Tav protests to Miguel that MC isn’t just playing around with a new boyfriend, she has to think of a stepfather for Lupi. Mig thinks the engineer has a good salary, but Tav says MC won’t lack for anything as long as he’s around. It’s seems like a lie—MC’ love for Tav won’t allow her to date anyone new. (That’s some sublime self-satisfaction for our galan.)

MC and Alvaro are out riding. He cheers her up and she trusts him, but does wonder why he is helping her. Shortly, the new couple is at her table, drinking coffee, chatting and laughing. Tav rings the doorbell, Santa answers and tells him to wait. Tav sees the happy couple and knows Miguel wasn’t lying about MC’ new boyfriend. Nevertheless, he’ll protect his daughter.

In a moment, MC welcomes Tav and introduces Alvaro. The men grip each other’s hand in a contest of manly power.  (Sergio Goyri seems to have more focus when he’s menacing someone as a bad guy. He’s sort of a cardboard cutout here.)

Tav Rides By to See Whose Truck Is Parked at MariCruz’ Hacienda
Tav claims he came to see Lupita. MC gestures him upstairs on his own, while she and Alvaro sit on the couch for more cozy conversation. Tav eavesdrops from the upstairs bridge. When the engineer leaves, MC lets him kiss her hand. She rips Tav for coming unannounced and with a rotten attitude.

As Alvaro rides away, he thinks that MC is adorable. Her ex may not be over her, but she seems to hate her old love. (You don’t know our wild girl yet, do you Mr. Mustache?)
Tav demands to know if MC likes that man, ‘cuz he came to see if she really is in love again. If so, it’s important that he’s a decent man. MC assures him—Alvaro’s a hardworking, honest guy who’s helping her with her land problems. She asks her ex what he really wants? If she is going to marry again, he wants a good stepfather for Lupi.

Tav goes a step further—he still loves MC. She says fine for him, he’s all settled in Simona’s cushy digs, but she needs a support system, preferably with strong manly arms. Okey dokey, Tav will take that job! He’ll divorce Simona and marry his lovely Wild Thing! Nuh-uh, says MC. He’s full of lies, so she’ll just welcome back the engineer.

Simona Suffers and Octavio’s Best Laid Plans Go Astray
Simona is dizzy and almost faints while holding her baby. (We can call him hijo, since he has no name yet.) She tells Ofelia to put him in the crib and don’t tell Tav about this. Ofe says he needs to know, but Simona doesn’t want pity. (She wants love! And constant attendance!)

Tav arrives home, only to hear Ofe’s report of Simona’s new incident. Tav sinks onto the staircase, thinking he has no right to tell Simona his plan to leave her for MC.  Soon, his wife appears, curious about his early arrival. He claims a headache and she says his bro could handle the workload. A sarcastic Tav asks what should he do then, put on an apron and join Ofelia in the kitchen? (She’d love it!) Simona says she might buy him a plane and Tav retorts that she’d just chain down the plane. He says she needs to see a doctor, but she won’t hear any more about doctors or hospitals.

Tav updates Miguel on his visit to MC—he can’t face seeing her with another man, so he’ll talk to Simona about splitting. No one can stop him!

Tav is packing to leave that night. He’ll write a letter to explain it all to Simona.  Ofelia knocks at the door, calling for him. She says Simona can’t keep her balance! His wife tells Tav she can’t walk, her legs give out on her. The trapped Tav says they’ll see the doctor. Simona is afraid, very afraid—so many things are failing.

The doctor (same one we’ve seen) gives her a high-tech eye exam with a small flashlight as she reclines on the bed. She needs to go to the hospital to see a neurologist. He tells Tav all symptoms point to a brain tumor. She could have seizures, so she’ll go in an ambulance.

The opportunistic Miguel thinks Simona’s crisis means things are looking good for him. He talks to Tav about her almost certain death. He advises Tav to make her last days happy ones, although younger bro isn’t convinced this is her deathbed. Miguel assures him “You have to expect the worst.” (He’s almost rubbing his hands with glee.)

Around the Edges of the Love Triangles
JA is proposing a new project to Nazario as they walk the remote area. He wants to scare away the engineer. Naz wonders if he’s jealous of the boss getting hit by cupid’s arrow? No, JA just doesn’t like strangers on their land. He’ll pay Naz a hefty chunk of change, although Naz doesn’t want to use major violence.

Alvaro meets with Padre Julian to go over their plans. The padre needs to collect signatures from the stragglers still in Realengo, while MC will get signatures from the tenants. The lawyers will work on the land problem from their end.  Alvaro’s greatest joy would be for the padre to unite them in marriage. Padre’s not sure the marriage would work, what with MC’ family and past marriage complications. (Dude, if your wingman won’t support you, you’re in a heap of trouble.)

Padre goes out to Realengo, preaching and teaching. The people want their land, but it belongs to someone already. Just get in line and sign the paper, please. Clorinda says the priest and MariCruz are the only ones who care about them. Padre assures them “you’ll see others care.”

Perico and Solita are in a grove of tropical trees, kissing like crazy. JA just happens to be lurking behind some foliage, noticing how pretty and passionate Solita is. JA thinks Perico’s a fool when he breaks off and leaves. JA is sure he’s just the man to console the sweet little thing, so he steps in and lays a kiss on her. Solita may be disabled, but she’s not stupid—she knees him in the groin and runs for the house. Juanita tries to understand the distraught girl and ends up comforting her with a hug. (Will someone please sit down with Solita and discover her situation!!)

MariCruz Has More Clothing and Better Hair, but Little Else Has Changed
JA and MC are discussing the fight for the rancho lands. He thinks MC has already lost the fight and the engineer is only trying to seduce her. The people think she’ll provide new homes, that she’s an angel who’ll lead them to heaven on earth. JA knows he’s the only one to help and care about her. MC only thinks of him as a brother and will never love him nor Alvaro. Her blood and her heart will always belong to Octavio Narvaez!

MC is playing on the bed with Lupita, while she explains her dilemma to her cutie pie. Lupi will need the warmth and love of her father, so MC could accept Tav’s new proposal. But she shouldn’t hurt Simona or make her suffer.

Santa is now in the room and MC does an abrupt about-face. She says she’ll leave with Tav and Lupi and go anywhere he wants, abandoning the fight for her lands. Santa wonders how they’ll live without money, but Mari knows they’ll find a way. Santa asks why she didn’t accept Tav when he proposed the earlier reconciliation?  MC admits she was proud and stupid. (She could have saved all of us some agony.)

Santa is sure MC is on the edge of a cliff, but the starry-eyed wild girl doesn’t want advice. She doesn’t want to live without Tav. Her heart and whole being wants him, he’s her heaven and her hell. (Been there, done that for over 100 episodes now. Sigh.)

MC stands on the staircase, thinking dramatic thoughts. Tav hasn’t come back, but he will. She’ll go anywhere with him, with their girl and their poverty. (Let’s see—should she take the fringed boots or the plain boots? She’ll take plenty of skirts, since she can always cut off the tails to make dresses for Lupita.) A piece of bread will taste like glory and the shelter of a tree will feel like a palace. She’s always been his and she will be his until the day she dies.

Advance  I didn’t catch any advance clips, but what would be the point? Our main couple is back where they started. Feel free to disagree.

Hang tough amigos, I bailed on this one, there is no hope.

Thanks, La Paloma, you are so right when you stated thatthat we are right back where we started.

Maybe JA and Eusebio's twin can do us all a favor and disappear somehow taking Miguel along with them.

After listening to Octavio and Maricruz in this last episode, I felt like I was listening to two teenagers. I guess that is where they are: just a couple of kids. Santa should take both of them by the ears into a locked room and not let them out until Octavio agrees to get a divorce ASAP and they both agree to get married immediately afterwards.

Jarifa

La Paloma...Thanks for wading through this mess. These people are unbelievable. Alvaro should get out of town on his fastest horse,

The one shining moment for me was Solita kneeing the despicable JackAss. I wish that we could all have a turn. I am so hoping for a very large anvil to pound
him into the rancho soil.

I hate these folks more and more. I do not want ManicMari and the Big O to have a happy ending. I hope that all the nameless babies, Miguelito, Lupita, Santa, Solita, and Parakeet end up with Tobias. Everyone else can pick oranges .

Did Dumtavio actually say, I'm not divorcing Simona unless you guarantee that you'll marry me right afterwards? He just spoils it each time. Now that he has finally managed to cover the gray, he seems more adolescent than ever.

I foresee a lifetime of bickering and regrets for Oct and Mari after the granfinal. Don't do it, Mari! His looks will not last forever!!!

On the other hand, she would make Sergio Goyri's life a living h#ll as well, that's for sure.

Thanks so much for filling in for CeCe, Paloma and what a good job. I think that you spoke for all of us when you said:

"Will someone please sit down with Solita and discover her situation!!"

Thank you. I wonder if she is even allowed to sit down to meals with Maricruz? What a strange household and family dynamic.

What's the matter with the peasant boys from this community? Don't their mama's treat them any respect for women and girls? First Eusebio and now José Antonio. And Maricruz regards him as a brother?

My dream scene is for Natasha to come upon José Antonio attempting to molest Solita and pull out her little pistol, shout out a warning and then put a hole in him... or maybe she could just club him gently with it.

So far, Sergio Goyri has not done much to crisp up this wilting salad.
I'd be happy if he would just select some names for these poor nameless tykes.

Carlos

Carlos...nothing and no one can crisp up this salad...it is a soggy, slimy mess of greens. Sergio seems lost and out of place as a lovestruck aged teen. I was thinking about his crazy evil role in STUD. Didn't he carve his wooden peg leg into a likeness of the heroine (Lucero) whom he was obsessed with ...or was that a nightmare I had after watching that novela ? I think he was badly burned and sent to prison where he discovered his talent as a sculptor.

Speechless about last night's episode. La Paloma, you did a masterful job pulling this mess together. Susanlynn, I think I will rewatch the wedding scene from STUD. So pretty, I saved it on the VCR or what ever that thing is called now. And what is the music that is played when Alvaro is on his jaunty way to and from seeing MC?

(Dude, if your wingman won’t support you, you’re in a heap of trouble.)

Great line, la Paloma and I also enjoyed your wry headings for each dunderheaded twist and turn in this episode. Almost hoping, since total character changes are rife in this one, that Sergio will transform into a bad guy. He's soooo good at that, and so NOT as an awshucks suitor.

Enjoying the little tot playing Maricruz' daughter though. She's still looking anywhere but at Mom but oh my, what a cutie! Have to find my joys where I may in this sad mess.

Judy, with that Musica de Banda that they've saddled Alvaro with, it's difficult to consider him as a galan, much less a bad guy. I'm hoping for him to adopt Maricruz and Solita.

Carlos

La Paloma thank you for doing double duty the week. It's a rhetorical question but how did things go so bad on this. I know things have been bad for a while but bring in new people to this mess makes it more obvious.

Yes Judy Sergio would be more fun as a villain. And Carlos thanks for another laugh regarding Sergio adopting MC and Lupita.

I just caught up on most of the episodes. Thanks to all the recappers for soldiering through this. Know that you have made gold from stuff most of us would call crap.

Carlos...Should Alvaro adopt Mari and Solita before or after he shoots JackAss ? Somebody needs to kill JackAss...somebody...anybody.

@Carlos - I don't know the name of Alvaro's silly banda theme song, but what I do know is that it is sung by Sergio Goyri himself, which might explain why they selected such an awful tune for his character.

Well, my purpose in watching is to be entertained while improving my Spanish. The recappers have added to the fun, and along the way I've picked up some good words: orgulloso (pride), soberbia (pride), desdicha (unhappiness), jacal (hut), fechoria (misdeed), despectiva (contemptuous), descuidarse (to neglect), aguantar (to put up with), derribar (to demolish). I think I see a pattern.

Aleta...yikes...looking at that vocabulary list, .no wonder this show is such a enormous downer.

Aleta, a new word (for me) I noticed was in both this show as well as La Tempestad on Friday is achacosa which means sickly or ailing (I'm pretty sure in reference to Simona). Fits right in with your list.

Alegria

Alegria, thanks for posting the song video. MariCruz needs to push back her furniture, put Sergio/Alvaro up on the bridge to sing, bring in all the poor folks and let the party commence. Tav can stand outside the windows, feeling needy.

Just caught this episode this morning...why oh why did I bother??? I should have just trusted the brilliance of our La Paloma to give me the latest tidbits, what there are of them, on this episode.

I agree with everyone. I can't even believe the monkeys are writing this anymore. I think they quit and handed things over to the Rat Pack who is ticked off that they haven't been in a TN for awhile. I wonder if ratings were so high because the female 13-19 age group are the big viewers on this.

My dear grandmother who didn't speak English well, use to like to turn off the sound on shows and make up her own plots. I'm thinking she may be on to something...might be a way to get thru this just to see how it ends.

I guess we can now assume Simona most likely won't be even giving her poor nameless one the requisire 15 minutes for fear of dropping him? And Lupita gets playtime on a bed. Guess Mumsy doesn't like sitting on the floor playing dolls or building blocks. I know I get picky with how they show Lupita and these nameless urchins, but it is getting ridiculous. Their Vitamin D deficiencies for not getting outside enough are going to be horrid.

JA needs more than a good knee to the nether regions. How about a stray shot as well? I remember a character in a TN who got that well-placed gun shot as his punishment. Jackass....

Thanks La Paloma, when I watched this episode, I had to turn it off about 2/3 of the way through because it was so idiotic, I couldn't finish. So I know how difficult recapping it must have been.
And when I read the recap, it wasn't any better, and I'm not criticizing your writing because I know that it actually made it better than it was to watch. How can they have a character saying one thing, then practically the next line say the opposite? How can so many characters do such idiotic things?

Why wouldn't they take Simona to the hospital the very first time she complained about her sight? Isn't losing ones sight an emergency?

Why wouldn't they give the children names? It doesn't cost the production company any money to do that.

If MC wins the battle over losing the land to the government, how does that solve her money woes?

Why does MC say she will never marry Octavio and then make a plan to run away with him and marry him? What has finally changed her mind about him? I could see her change of mind if an event happened that made her realize that her revenge is pointless and made her see things differently, but nothing like that has happened.

Can you tell I'm at my wits ends over this show?

Carlos---I don't want to write another long comment about the past incident, we are never going to agree anyway so I will make this short. I know that rifles are made to be shot, so are pistols---
have you ever heard about someone being pistol whipped? I guess you have because you mentioned it in your first post this time around. So since one can get pistol whipped, why not rifle whipped? You
don't have to murder someone that is committing or has done a bad act. You are right in that EWWsebio was a vile man---How about life in prison without parole
or the death penalty? Yes, I support the death penalty but only
after a fair trial, a conviction by a jury and a sentence by a judge. Well, I guess that Miguel got off with just two character witnesses. Another thing you were right about is that this is just a novela.

Google ate my signature. Anon 9:44 is me. One of those days I can't get the sign in to work again. ERRRR!

Daisynjay

cathyx, everything you just said is spot on. Every point that you enumerate is troubling and annoying but I think the thing that irks me the very most is this:

"How can they have a character saying one thing, then practically the next line say the opposite?"

One wonders what the actors uttering these contradictory lines must be thinking. Surely they recognize these glaring inconsistencies. I thought that actors are notorious for questioning, analyzing, and understanding their characters' motivations. Apparently here, not so much.

As for naming the children, it almost appears that there has been a conscious effort to avoid giving these kids names. Huerco, huerquito, chamaco, niño, niñito, hijo, hijito... anything but a name for these little critters. Maybe it is economic, perhaps the little actor must be payed more if the character actually has a name.

And Anon,

"And Lupita gets playtime on a bed."

Which mainly consists of listening to her mom alternatively whine or moon over Octavio.

When she sent Octavio up alone to visit with Lupita, I wonder if anyone was with the little girl or was she just locked in her room? Wonder why she hasn't introduced her to Alvaro? It's to bad that Maricruz's parental role model was a rather ineffective grandfather who treated treated the girls more like house pets than little human beinglets.

Carlos

Daisynjay, I should have realized that was you. Your frustrations are my frustrations and I hadn't even considered the vitamin D thing. I'm embarrassed.

Carlos

Carlos, yes, maybe naming the children means they are actual cast members and not an extra and therefore are part of a union and must be paid better. I know someone who is an extra for the TV show Grimm, it's filmed in my town here, and she gets minimum wage. If she were an actual cast member, she would get more pay and even some benefits.

Donde esta Vivi? I always looked forward to her recaps and comments.

La Paloma---You should be proud. The first thing that I thought about when I woke up today was the
"Plucky Rancherita." That's a double gold star for sure. Double duty, THANK YOU. While many are disgusted or turn the show off, not me, I still love it. Ok, so they can't make up their minds---a lot of people are like that. They will settle down in happy martial bliss as time goes on. The young lovers will get it together, have faith.

Some have said that this is such a waste for Sergio Goyri---NEEEEVER.
He is thanking his lucky stars that he got to act along side Mexico's beautiful young goddess, Ana Brenda. Hey! He can make an action novela or movie next time but for now, the chance of a lifetime. Sergio, you won the lottery.

Three names for three boys? I would have to think about that for a while but for one---I can definitely say Poncho. I don't know why but I have always liked that name. To me it sounds like a strong, manly Mexican name. Maybe Poncho Villa has some influence on my thinking, I don't know but I have always liked it. So Poncho for at least one of the boys is my choice.

So many negative comments about Friday's episode, I thought that the chemistry between One Cell and Plucky was electrifying.

So One Cell decides to pack up and leave $imona. Of course she has to go blind just as he is getting ready to leave. That should keep him there a little while longer. Damn the "Rat Pack" writers.

Cathyx---If MC wins her land battle, her financial problems will be solved when she has Jack Ass thrown in jail for stealing her funds.

PLEEEEASE!!!!! Maricruz was criticized for not giving her "required" 15 minutes to Lupita. So now she does but is criticized for playing with Lupita in her room and not outside. GIVE PLUCKY A BREAK!!! She is going to have a swing built outside for Lupita---MY GOD!!! What next for MC???
the gringo

Emerald Rose, Vivi is in Uganda, vacationing and visiting friends. She should be back soon.

Simona's son is actually a girl :)))
As I said once, this baby was absolutely unnecessary for the plot. Solita's baby also. Romero was so lazy in copypasting so it was too difficult for him to name that unnecessary babies. So sad that he and Nathalie the family moral in this novela that they. It seems that a baby is like a toy. Who cares about them, when they will grown up. Novela will end when they still be children, so dont ask questions. And the names are not the main problem.
Alegria

Thank you CathyX I look forward to her return.

gringo,

"GIVE PLUCKY A BREAK!!!"

Well, actually we are by continuing to watch this muddled nonsense, but since I'm watching, I reserve the right to criticize, ridicule, or even (if by some miracle it's deserved) praise.

Alegria, reading between the lines of your comment, I'm guessing that we'll never learn the names of those three kids. Just one more disappointment. If you recall, Lucía also promised us a couple of dogs which we never got.

Carlos

Gringo, I am with you. I really don't care about the children and how they are portrayed or interacted with in this telenovela. They simply are not important as independent characters only as plot devices.

Jarifa

Carlos, oh, no. it was not a spoiler. And I hope it is not a spoiler to say, that I knew one name even before the baby was born. One of the actors put the foto of the first page of his script with the list of characters. An there were so many names. So I guess, that all the babies and others had names. But in episodes this names were not announced.
Alegria

Again, I lament the wasted potential in this TN. MariCruz' early problems, her marriage to her "true love", and her transformation with her real father were all rewarding to watch.

The casino-based section added some iffy stuff, but ended with MC reaching her goal of owning Rancho Narvaez.

Now, it feels that we are just marching in place, waiting as the producers drive by and fling a random character or event at us. We don't see major characters learning or really changing, and maybe they never will. Que lastima!

I don't know what's wrong with this robot thing. I happened to me and it looks like it happened to La Paloma also. First it says that you didn't do it right, so when you do it again, a double comment pops up.

Right---Looks like $imona's baby won't get his "required" 15 minutes either. She gets dizzy when she holds him.

Carlos---You will have many chances for praise as time goes on.

I miss Vivi too.

So Tav wants to divorce $imona but now that she is blind or is going blind, he can't leave her. What a spot he's in.

I have no idea, just a thought but what if Mari looses her land in her fight with the government and is thrown off her beautiful rancho. She started out poor but happy, could it be that she goes full circle and ends up poor but happy?

If that happens I will be crushed because I love that rancho. She was thrown off of it and fought to get it back. It would be just terrible if she looses it now. I LOVE that ranch house, the architecture and styling both inside and out. It's simply beautiful. $imona's is nice also but is more of a modern style. I love Rancho Abuelo's Spanish Mediterranean appearance, it's lovely.

I'm having a problem with Ewesobio's twin having the same scar that his brother had on his face. I think Solita was even motioning about it when she came back from seeing him. How do twins get matching scars?????
Do the separate after the head is formed?

Thanks for posting such kind of amazing blog. i really like the content of this blog.
Leather beds in London

La Paloma, thanks for the marvelous recap. I appreciate the extra work this week. I loved the ending of "dramatic thoughts":

" A piece of bread will taste like glory and the shelter of a tree will feel like a palace. She’s always been his and she will be his until the day she dies. "

I still enjoy the scenes with MC and Tav together. I laughed at some of Octavio's jealous rants--fun to watch.

Isn't MC's and Alvaro's banda music very similar to the music played when Yago and Natasha were together in Amor Bravio? I think this type of music signals a doomed relationship.

Daisynjay, "I know I get picky with how they show Lupita and these nameless urchins" . You and about 10 other people. You are in good company. However, I'm pretty much with the gringo and Jarifa on this one. I thought the first Lupita was really precious but really for the most part I think most of this handwringing about the children is way overblown.

MollyC, Eeewsebio did not have a scar on his face. However "Do they separate after the head is formed?" LOL

Several people have mentioned that the lawsuit that MC is initiating is to retain the rancho. This is not so. The lawsuit is to make sure she and the former Realengo people get fair compensation for their loss. Now the writers could twist this in the future and the ranch will be saved, but right now the lawsuit is about money, not land.

Barbara

Oops, above comment, Barbara as in CorgiMom!

Barbara

@Barbara - you are absolutely right. The lawsuit is about fair compensation, not about the land itself. Same kind of suit can be brought in the USA - it is called an "inverse condemnation proceeding".

La Paloma:

Thanks for this most marvelous recap and doing double duty this week.

I just knew there was something wrong with Simona's head, now a brain tumor? How did they miss that at the hospital? Did it grow overnight? I threw out my beanie on this one awhile ago ; )

Naz is very different from Eww isn't he? For a minute there I thought he would tell MC what JA** was planning.

Where is the cattle stampede when you need one for Miguel that is and JA** along with him! Both need to go like yesterday.

I too want someone to really understand what Solita is trying to say. MC knows all her gestures and they learned sign language so why can't they figure out what has happened to her, twice now? Seeing Naz and JA** trying to kiss her? So glad she kneed JA**.

I'm with you about SG, I'll take him anyway I can get him : )

Too bad that MC has lost her spine. Where is the fighting woman that fought tooth and nail to save her casino from the baddies. Where has she gone? JA** is ten times worse than Carolla was! I want her to open her eyes and get rid of him already.

Hi Barbara,

"...most of this handwringing about the children is way overblown."

Well, I'm only wringing one hand over the children, although how hard can it be to come up with three names for the little tykes? Besides, since the rest of this TN has been such perfection, what else do we have to complain about?

Carlos

The Chronicles of Lupita
Lupita had the misfortune of being born to a non-loving non-caring mother who was so filled with vengeance that she had no time to spend with or care about her. Baby Lupita's father was basically unattached so poor little
Lupita was at least in her early years raised by paid strangers or as some would say, the hired help.
After witnessing this, there were cries from the populace that Lupita's mother must spend a "required" 15 minutes a day with her, which she began doing. This was very hard for an unloving, uncaring, unfit mother to do but because of the cries and shouts from the mob, she did it. After a while, the mob was still not satisfied and began demanding a "required" 15 minutes of outdoors time, playing and running through the mosquito infested fields. The unfit mother may also be forced to have a swing built for the adorable little Lupita and demands for a life-sized outdoor dollhouse may not be far off. Will
little Lupita grow up with psychological problems or maybe something even worse? Tune in tonight for the latest saga of the Lupita Chronicles.
the gringo

gringo,

¡Eso!

¡Bravo!

Carlos

Gringo, let's hope this team of writer and director does not make that next TN.

Guess I have to admit that how kids are portrayed or treated in any show can sometimes get my "hackles" up. But I'll admit, the way the lack of consistency in plot with other characters has been occurring here, no wonder the kids are just an after-thought. Their birth seems to serve a purpose and the occasional ouchie, and then they disappear until needed again. Maybe they're all off playing with Tobias in a special Neverland somewhere.

"...really understand what Solita is trying to say."

I had a thought the other night...and I probably shouldn't ask, but didn't anyone ever teach Solita how to read and write? I mean she could have written out by now what she saw and why she's upset. And if that's the excuse why they don't know, then shame on ALL of them!

Daisynjay

In case anyone didn't get it, the Lupita Chronicles was meant to be facetious.
the gringo

Gringo, I assumed that since it was coming from you, but unfortunately for us viewers, it really wasn't.

Daisynjay---Yes Solita should be able to read and write. That's a big error in the program. But on the other hand, if she could read and write, a whole lot of things would be different. EWWsebio, JA for example. Maybe before the novella is over, Solita may get a fearing/speech operation.
the gringo

Gringo, I think Lupita should have her own pony!

I really don't like the way the monkey writers are handling the Solita storyline. It would have been a good opportunity for a positive PSA for the deaf community in Mexico. At my gym, there's a deaf woman who reads lips, talks, and follows all of the Zumba routines just by watching the instructor. Surely after all these years, Maricruz and Solita would have worked out their own sign language of sorts.

La Paloma: A fun and a quick read.

IMNSHO Mr. Mustache is old enough to be her new abuelo! I love Sergio Goyri, but his days of playing opposite 20 somethings left off somewhere at the end of last century.....

I also got a number of chuckles from your uber-cool snarkisms and asides:

"The doctor (same one we’ve seen) gives her a high-tech eye exam with a small flashlight"

"(Dude, if your wingman won’t support you, you’re in a heap of trouble.)"

"(Been there, done that for over 100 episodes now. Sigh.)"

What's with this poverty garbage? "A piece of bread will taste like glory and the shelter of a tree will feel like a palace." She still has the proof that El Gobernador never went to the airlines with the contraband charges and so Tav still can earn a very decent living as a pilot! Will somebody give the A team of writers a raise so they'll end their creativity strike?

Aleta,

"Gringo, I think Lupita should have her own pony!"

Lupita doesn't have a pony? Then this may be more than just neglect... we may be seeing frank child abuse here.
