Corazon Indomable #102
Cathyx
Simona tells Octavio of the bribe and the letter to get Miguel off the hook for the murder.
JA is willing to take what he can get from MC and he won't call it stealing.
Octavio tells Miguel about the letter, the lawyer, and two good witnesses that will get him off. (the brother and Awfulia) Octavio says he is willing to take one for the team by putting out even more to pay Simona back the ransom money.
JA is taking workers from the housing project to build his own house and MC doesn't like it.
Octavio displays his great negotiating skills and talks Navario into still paying him $20,000 to write the letter.
MC asks Juanita who has only just met JA if he seems to have changed. MC finally calls Tobias and Solita to come to the ranch.
Narvario recommends to JA that he should steal from MC since he's her trusted man. JA tells him he would never do that, then thought bubbles as to how Narvario figured out that he actually is stealing from her and wonders if Eusebio was stealing from Miguel who never could make money from the ranch.
MC arrives at the ranch with Solita and yes, the monkey, but no Tobias. No one knows how to sign, but Solita learned how to figure out what they say when all they do is point. Santa thought bubbles that Solita's baby looks just like Ewsebio.
Octavio leaves to see the lawyer, Simona is untrusting of him. He tells her he loves her after she insists he tell her, she closes her eyes for a kiss, he slo mo comes in and at the last minute, kisses her on the cheek, lol. He leaves and she follows, certain that he's going to see MC.
JA wants to get rich so MC will notice him. Except he's getting rich from MC's money so she will notice him, but not in a good way.
Nice scene with JA seeing Solita and they hug. He picks up the unnamed baby and Santa asks him who he thinks the baby looks like. Santa proves she's the only one with a brain on this show and asks what will happen when Solita runs into Navario.
Octavio runs into MC to buy a toy. MC reminds him that Lupita has a party in a couple of days. After a long argument about the same crap, she asks him to have lunch with her and flashes the magic dimples. Of course he says yes.
It's dark out and Simona is nervously pacing because Octavio hasn't come home yet. That must have been a very long lunch. Miguel notices and tries to calm her down. She didn't follow Octavio after all.
JA tells Ester that Solita is back with a baby. That she was raped by a guy who's now dead.
Octavio comes home and Simona spies lipstick on his shirt once again, hahaha.
MC also comes home late to a worried Santa and Juanita. She tells her she ran into an old friend and they got to talking. But she thought bubbles her lunch, and they actually got to kissing, no talking, hahaha.

Thanks, you did a great job with just highlightS! Even got a few good zingers in, too! I just cannot believe that all they spent their time in the empty cornfield doing was kissing, despite Tav's swearing he'd never cheat on Salmona. I mean just what does he figure smooching and getting in a few feelies is, anyway? I dunno if they cut a roll in the hay or something out, but I understand they cut out a sex scene that was supposedly a dream while he was delerious with Diptheria. I sort of half expect MC to get preggers as the final proof Salmona needs that he's 2 timing her.

I don't think, that MC and Octavio will spend some time together in bed. I think, that MC respects herself and wont become a lover.
Lovw-scenes are important to this show, because people like the couple. But he is married and all this looks bad.

The monkey finally gets to return home and to his trees. I'm sure he is very happy now.
I was so glad to see Santa thinking about what it means for Solita to be back in the place of her rape, and to be near the man who looks exactly like her rapist. Mari doesn't even know that Solita's rapist is dead. For all she knows, it could be JA! And she didn't take the time to find out who the bastard is and if he would have easy access to Solita once she returns. Arrgg! This storyline makes me so mad. Santa better tell Mari.
I know that I've been howling about getting the monkey back, but I guess I forgot how nasty and stinky he looks. Oh well, good to see him, Solita, and unnamed kid again.
I had to laugh when Maricruz told Juanita that she was going to call and talk to Solita... I'm sure that she meant via Tobias, but it struck me as funny, anyway.
I wasn't paying attention closely, but I thought that Nazario was asking for 300 thousand pesos, but I'm not certain of that. Love how Octavio negotiated him to the price he was asking... at least it didn't end up being more.

I've been watching this with one eye open and the other doing something else.
But here goes...
It's not Lupita's birthday, she's being baptized. But I still chuckle mercilessly at the difference in size between her and Mini-Miguel. They are only a few months apart but he's at least 20 months old when we see him (and he was walking when his accident happened).
I expected to see Tobias, too, but I guess someone has to watch the homeplace. He was the moderating voice and MC listened to him.
My take on MC--and probably to a certain extent, everyone here. It's not vengeance; it's supreme selfishness. If she truly loves Solita, she would have made sure everyone back at the manse learned sign language, including herself, gotten her a teacher and some decent clothes. [OTOH, the Nazario thing is probably why she hasn't been taught to communicate...we need some more sturm und drang.]
Now that she has money, she has also become one of those who thinks money equals power, while money can solve all problems. Her power seems to be concentrated in her manipulation of the men in her life, Octo, JA, Miguel (and of those earlier incarnations on Isla Dorada) and the women who are linked to them--Doris, Simona, Ester and Lucia (--gee I miss Doris. I hope she comes to the ranch for a visit.)
About Ewwusebio. If he was stealing from Miguel all those years, why was he still a clod, hanging around the stables and ordering people around. I don't think he was really so smart as to lay up his stolen goods for when he retired.
Can you tell I'm DONE with QBA?
Too bad Miguel and Simona could not have married. They would have made the perfect "middle aged " couple.
So glad the mooonkey is back on the rancho where he belongs.

No problem Eli, I wish I could write a recap with just brief bullet points every time I recap.
We are thankful that you were able to step in.
You made me smile when you wrote---
She asks him to lunch and flashes the magic dimples---I ask, How can anybody turn down magic dimples? Even $imona's new hairdo is no match or competition for magic dimples.
It was good to see Solita and the monkey again. [forgot the monkeys name] Tobias is going to get lonely down at the big house.
Yes, $imona did rub her fingers together, didn't see any red or pink lipstick on them though. Maybe we were supposed to imagine that there was.
Jack Ass---I sure don't like the direction he has been heading in lately. He has been friends with Maricruz for a long time and not that she has money??? Come on JA, snap out of it. Mari needs to lay down the law and makes sure that he understands it. She's trying to do good works and help the poor people in her area and he/JA is now trying to take all he can get from her, maybe even dishonestly. I'm really disappointed in this guy---it doesn't look like Ester is improving very much either.
So what is the deal now? Miguel is going to get some people to lie for him? No he wasn't there, he was with me kind of a thing? With $imona's money, they could buy a lot of eye witnesses.
So now the advances show JA ruining
Lupita's party. What has come over this guy? He never went to school but he thinks he should be rich too? Is he developing a hatred for rich people?

@La Paloma - Jackass, er, Jose Antonio was a villain in every single version of this novela; they softened him up a bit in the Marimar version, but they just made him extra evil in this one. That's why I disliked him from the very beginning of C.I. Maybe because I knew what was coming, I just didn't get why any viewers thought he was so great at the beginning.
@Cathyx - I mentioned in one of my recaps (it was either #80 or #90, I forget) that Realengo doesn't mean "freelands", as some translated it, but rather "King's lands", meaning they are owned by the government. Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think private companies are permitted to exploit mineral rights under special contracts with the government. In C.I. it's a private company searching for the gold, but they went through the government to get the exploitation rights, so the guy trying to pay off the Realengo squatters was actually a government official; they didn't make that clear in the first episode he appeared, but I hope it's not a spoiler to say that will become clear soon.
As for minerals found on private land, well let's wait and see how that plays out on C.I.; any characters saying they can get rich if there's gold on their land (or former lands) is just expressing his or her ignorance of the law.

Great comment about Oct's lack of negotiating ability. Do the writers have disdain for him as well? Not just us.
LatinaInMD, thanks for the JA info from previous versions of this TN. He used to seem neutral to me, but he was always a good friend to MC. Now that he wants to be a rich man, he's able to ignore any obligation he has to MC.
? like "Revenge".
As for Solita being taught the sign language, It was Don Ale I think that started their education. MC was too ignorant to think about their education yet. I remember Don Ale saying D_First you and then Solita to be educated by Tobias. It is only now that the two sisters are getting back together ever since.I think she will come to that sign language as the dust settles down.
And for my mantra, Frankly, Awfelia can go to hell.
