Corazon Indomable, #106, Tuesday, 10-08-13 Tav might be the dashing hero, but Mari's dimples are more powerful
Introducing the Realengo Rebellion of 2013 (thanks for the inspiration, La Paloma)
Fair warning: this is going to be a short recap, because this episode has been all over the place

a lot of scenes have been condensed, for a better flow.
Maricruz finally
starts making the rounds, asking the tenants why they haven’t paid their rents.
Tenant 1: I couldn’t
pay because the insects destroyed my profit.
Maricruz (channeling
Donald Trump): If you don’t pay, you’re fired…I mean, expulsed!
After Mari leaves, the
guy tells his wife that he needs to go fix something.
Tenant 2: I always
paid, I’m a hard working man.
Maricruz: Well, if you
say so, and you have this cute child with you, then I believe you.
After the tenant
leaves, Mari thinks to herself that there is something fishy going on… Good
catch, girl, you’re quite intuitive!
Tenant 3: We’ve had
some problems, people who were supposed to pay us haven’t done it, yet. This
week you’ll have your money. How strange that you are having financial
problems, though, the business has been working well the last few months.
Mari: Yeah, sure… (Are
the little grey cells in her head starting to function now?)
Tenant 1 (with JA): I
gave you a third of my business so I wouldn’t have to pay the rent anymore, the
senora is now threatening to throw him out – what to do, what to do?
JA (while counting his
filthy money): Go ahead and pay Maricruz, I don’t care, just be careful not to
say anything about me, or you’ll end up losing more than I will. She’ll never
believe you, anyway…
And to make things
clear, he also threatens the tenant with a gun.
In the meantime Mari
continues her investigation, she talks with several more tenants, but
apparently they all give her similar versions of the facts. Could it be true,
could Esther be saying the truth about JA? It’s her husband, maybe she’s upset
with him and his lack of love. But he’s my friend, he couldn’t steal from me
(ugh!!)
Miguel, Tav and Simona
are eating. Miguel is telling them that the Realengo people have been trapped.
Long story short: in
order to get food and water, they need to leave their homes, but if they do
that, they have to take their stuff, too, and never come back. After they
leave, their homes are to be burned. If they refuse to leave, they’ll end up
starving, dieing of thirst, whatever comes first.
Simona appreciates the
news, continues to nibble on her salad.
Tav is the only one
who looks upset – and OMG,
Daniel Arenas really rocks that black shirt and upset Tav is quite hawt!!
He can’t believe
Simona agrees with the way those poor folks are being treated, the more she and
Miguel enjoy the news and treat it lightly, the more upset he gets. He ends up
leaving the table, which finally brakes Simona’s appetite.
A rebellion is about
to start at the Realengo – the people want to leave in search of food, but the
guards won’t allow them, unless they leave for good.
Mari is arranging a
blanket on the sofa (where is your child, woman?), when JA comes to see her.
She tells him about talking with the tenants and her decision to throw out the
ones who won’t pay. JA thinks some will pay and the rest she won’t be able to
chase away for at least a year, it’s the law. From her reaction, Mari had no
clue about this (but why would she, it’s not like she has a huge land to run
and a bunch of tenants to worry about).
Mari wonders if maybe the
tenants paid JA to protect them and then mentions how Esther told her he’s a
bad man.
No, Esther is jealous
of you and of Natasha, JA explains, that’s why she’s saying all these lies.
Mari is not yet
convinced, though, she heard bad things from others, too. Besides, he changed a
lot, something’s not right!
Sure, I’m not the same
miserable man, he explains, you changed me, now I know how to live well. Maybe
my wife helped me, too, thanks to her I know how to read and write now, I’m no
longer a poor guy
Perico interrupts with
news about the Realengo rebellion. And what catches Mari’s attention: Tav is
the leader! So, obviously, she wants to go, too, Yes Sir! If he dies, she’ll
die, with him, he’s el amor de mi vida. (Forget about Lupita, she can take care
of herself, she should be almost two by now!)
Simona is furious
because Tav left, Miguel continues his sick game of poisoning her against her
husband: Tav won’t be able to do anything for those people, maybe he wants Maricruz
to help them. Maybe she’s already there, too. They are like magnets, they can’t
stay away from one other.
Simona doesn’t want to
believe that Tav would leave against her wishes, but there he is, on his horse,
hurrying God knows where.
Simona trashes the
table, Miguel hugs her – considering his satisfied face, his plan is working
great, so far!
Morales, the lawyer who
has the hots for Mari tells another guy, Vargas, about the great idea that he
had in order to get rid of the Realengo people.
Also, the Narvaez
ranch will be taken away shortly, because there is gold there, too; in a few
months the people on that land will have to leave, also. (Oh, boy!!!)
Morales wants to
punish Mari for not falling to his feet, so what better way to exact his
revenge than by burning the Realengo lands as soon as the people are finally
forced out?
Alone with Ofelia,
Simona tells her that she wants to go after Tav, but Ofelia thinks it could be
dangerous in her state. Simona agrees to stay but is so mad with Tav – could it
be that he’s bored? When she gives birth, they’ll start traveling more, be
together all the time. Their son will keep them tied up, nice and well.
Mari and Perico arrive
at the Realengo, they’re not aloud to talk to the people (who are all thirsty
and starving). Mari looks for Tav, she’s frightened for his safety. Perico goes
to search for him, with the firm order to protect him and the message that
she’s on his side 100%.
Tav comes to confront Morales:
the poor people of Realengo have no place to go, this is a criminal
disposition. We won’t sit back and do nothing, you have no heart, no love for
your country. I have 100 men waiting for me outside, I just have to give the
order and they’ll attack you. I won’t leave until you allow water and food
inside the Realengo. You are cornered – you won’t receive food either, we cut
the phones, too, you are completely isolated.
The lawyers threatens
Tav with jail time, Tav doesn’t care.
The lawyer insists
he’s only obeying an order that came from above and soon enough some of the
ranches will have to be vacated, too. And to make it more clear for Tav, he
also threatens to use his gun.
Miguel tells Simona
that Tav is at the police, in one of his usual adventures. And surely, so is
Mari. Simona wants to go, too.
Ofelia convinces her
to stay, but Simona is hysterical, all the same. Once she’s left alone, she
leaves for the Realengo, anyway.
And here is Mari, too,
at the lawyer’s office, begging him to put a stop to the water embargo.
I’ll do it for you,
senora, the lawyer seductively smiles, giving Tav (and Viewerville) the creeps…
Mari makes full use of her dimples, by trying to convince Morales not to punish anyone for what happened, not even Tav. He agrees to this, too,
what he wouldn’t do for her? (Blech!)
Mari wants to go with
Tav to Realengo now, she refuses Morales’ invite to take her home.
So, after Mari and Tav
leave, Morales tells Vargas that Tav has now become his rival, because he likes
this woman more than any other he’s ever seen.
Ofelia thinks they
should go search for Simona, but Miguel doesn’t want to go – Simona needs to
know that Tav and Mari are having an affair behind her back. His brother should
love Simona, but he always hurts her. Nothing will happen with Simona, she’ll
be fine, but there is nothing more that they can do. So, how about some
tequila?
Back at Mari’s ranch,
the accountant and Santa talk about how much money Mari is losing. And it’s not
just because of how much she’s spending, it’s also because JA is stealing from
her. Pobre Maricruz, she’ll be destroyed, Santa says.
Tav and Mari are back
at the Realengo, while the poor people are finally happy to have food and
water.
He explains that he
only had about 10 men, but the lawyer believed him anyway.
She thinks he is so brave,
and they hug to celebrate it.
Tav knows it was her
intervention, not his threats what convinced Morales. And how could the lawyer
resist such pretty eyes? Could he kiss her, maybe? Mari happily accepts, just
this once, but here is Simona, interrupting the quiet moment with her screams
and accusations.
Then she storms off,
on her horse.
Tav runs after her,
but when he arrives back at the ranch, Simona is not there.
At home, Mari worries
that if anything bad happens with Simona Tav will blame himself and her.
A search party is
gathered to look for Simona, they find her unconscious, on the ground.

Adriana - I agree on your assessment about Daniel Arenas - he looked HOT in those black clothes. As for your comment about Lupita being "almost two", don't forget this is Mrs. Mejia we are dealing with here. No way of knowing what Lupita's age is now.

Oh, UA, forgot to answer your question. There are 54 one-hour episodes left, plus a 2-hour finale. And since gringo has already mentioned what his friend in Mexico told him, let me just say that "this story is making no sense at all anymore" is an understatement.

So I'm thinking Simona loses the baby, blames Tav and MC and throws him out. I would love to see her throw out Miguel too.
I keep hoping JackAss's horse throws him into a pit of quicksand!
I hope the money situation sorts itself out soon bec this storyline is depressing. What in the world will MC do when all her money is gone? Will she marry the next rich man that goes after her, like Tav did with Simona?

Esther lost her first child. Will that happen to Simona? They weren't very smart. Hard to listen to them complain when they both knew what the story was with these guys.
Miguel would have been good as a revolutionary or a leader of a mob with pitch forks and pikes.
This story has turned into an over the top melodrama so I am just going to sit back, enjoy what I can and not think too hard. I fear we will never see Tobias or some of the old faves again. Maricruz and the plot have simply moved on. In the end I hope she has a happy ending with Octavio.

Great recap of a wacko episode! I got a definite "revolutionary" and "his woman" vibe from Octavio and MC in the scenes about the Realengo Rebellion. All they needed were the costumes and a cartridge belt for Tav.
I mourn the disappearance of Tobias. He might have been so useful at the ranch, helping MC handle her affairs and the people. He could have shown JA just how far he was from being a gentleman.
If the house in DF is gone, what happened to Tobias? Has he retired to some coastal resort? Is he working for someone else? Is he drinking away the days at a local bar? Has he opened a haberdashery? I suppose we'll never know. I'm sure Solita really misses him.
And Morales! Yet another man falls prey to MC--not her dimples, this time, but her beautiful eyes. She continues to mow down the male population, wherever she is.
I guess we're riding the merry-go-round (or MariCruz-goes-round) of random events now--just circle around and see what comes up with each rotation (episode).

Latina, for me Tav has always been kind of blah, certainly due to his serious lack of cojones (if I may say so).
I don't know if it was his little bravery or just teh black shirt that made him so attractive, but now I wouldn't mind seeing DA in a new, more manly - take no prisoners part.

La Paloma, I vote for Tobias having opened a haberdashery in DF. Having received sizable monetary gifts from don Alejandro in the past and having invested them, he is now a financial success himself. He wears a suit with vest to work everyday and has made quite a name for himself. If the writers won't give us closure, we can do it ourselves!

Just perfect and sums up enough of this madness for us. I sat through most of this with a echoing ESPN analysts with "C'mon man" going through my head.
54 episodes? I can't even imagine where this whole story-line can go. I know there are supposed to be some new characters (heaven help us). Now I find myself watching just to see how crazy this plot can go. I'm sure not enjoying the actual story much anymore.
Daniel should always wear black shirts..or no shirts, but hey we can't be picky. I'll go with black. And MC toning down the vengeance seems to be more palatable, though seems her brain cells aren't firing too fast anymore. I swear it has to be that water down there.
As looney as Simona has gotten, I don't wish anything bad with the baby, maybe she just gets knocked cold and we don't have to listen to her whining for 52 episodes. (Figure she has to go away somehow for the love birds to get back together permanently).
Miguel needs to get hit by a bus. Now.
Jose would have made a good villain character if this had been more consistent thru the story. It just plays out far-fetched. Love how they show how some learning suddenly makes these people experts on how to deal with finances and "vengeance". Lose MC on her quest...gain JA. He can line up behind Miguel on the bus route.
I reallllllyyyyy miss the Isla people. Heaven help me, I could even take Doris right now. And can't Tav's bestie and his wife come down for a visit?
Since we haven't seen a Moctavio exit, I'm guessing he was one smart monkey and took a powder from this group.

How about the other absent characters?
I think Ed & Araceli opened an Academy for well mannered ladies - Araceli is teaching them how to trap a husband before actually going on a real date (because we all remember that going to the movies AT NIGHT is very inappropriate)/ and Ed is teaching them all about having that slick, perfectly stiff hair that only he knows how to mentain
Teobaldo opened Doppelganger & Sons - offering high quality services for customers in need of fast makeovers - his best clients: people desiring to exact revenge on the ones who've harmed them in the past
Doris has her own sitcom, called The Governor's daughter (obviously) - the show depicts a young, vibrant girl, trying to juggle her coplicated love life and the incestuos relationship she has with her brother, Andres - the Hallmark channel has expressed interest in picking up the show for a billion seasons
The Givernor is now the President of Isla Dorada and he's married with a woman young enough to be his daughter's daughter
Karim was planning to go to Tamaulipas and kidnap Maricruz, but he heard of the great Realengo Rebellion and now he's afraid for his life - he might have to just settle with the 5 wives he already has.
What else? What do you think happened with teh likes of Carola, Raiza, Tony...

Sounds like we are in a chaotic, depressing phase of this strange story. But I like your alternative tales for our other missing characters, Adriana. And I salute you ("chapeau!") for whipping out 3 excellent recaps in as many days. Just outstanding. And in your second language. Truly amazing.

Love your alternatives Adriana!! I would watch those plots any day. Isn't it sad so many of these characters were just dropped? Maddening.

Adriana, I'm absolutely in awe. You must be an incredible superwoman. The recap is spectacular but just the fact that you've given us yet another recap is mind-boggling. I'm breathless just thinking about it.

Who knew? Apparently you didn't Carlos as you stated that it was ridiculous that the writers put that in the script, shooting the boys for stealing. Miguel would do that or he would give the order to do that and feel perfectly justified in doing so. When people all over the world rise up and try for an overthrow of some kind, it is because of people like Miguel.

Gringo, Miguel wasn't always the black hearted rancher. He was ignorant and oblivious to what Lucia was doing with MC and yes, he had his prejudices against her. But remember once he found out what Lucia did, the guilt ripped him up and he stated he didn't think he could love her anymore. His moral compass still pointed somewhat North.
Now he is the antithesis of guilt. He is thinking how great it would be if Simona dies and Tav can get all of her money, he wants to shoot children for stealing....he is way darker than what he was through most of this show.

Well, in any case, Miguel gave me my biggest smile last night. His brother went chasing off to help the poor folks and maybe meet up with his dimplelicious X, his pregnant sister-in-law saddles up and rides off after him into the night and...

Thanks Adriana, you are such a trooper to do so many recaps. I get worn out just doing one every other week.
It's funny how we analyze these characters to try to explain why someone does what they do as if they were real people, and not some drivel an out of touch writer comes up with. There is no predicting or explaining the behavior or the motives of a bad writer's make believe characters. It's as simple as that.

Variopinta, a disappointing amount of definition on those arms. Maybe a few sessions with some weights would help.
